Harry ate quietly even though he felt something was wrong. Something didn't feel right. Harry looked up and looked around. It looked completely normal, what could be wrong? But then his gaze landed on his best friend. Both of them looked normal but something was off. That's when he realized.
"Darling, are the kids coming home tomorrow?" Ron asked.
"Yeah, they should be but I'll let them if they still want to be with their grandparents."
Darling? Children? Harry choked on his toast. No one noticed except Lily who immediately held out a glass of water towards her father and Harry took it. After successfully clearing his throat Harry couldn't stop thinking. Ron? Hermione? Are they really? married?. There was nothing else to think about.
"Lily." Harry called in a whisper.
"What?"
"Are they..." Harry pointed at Ron and Hermione who were still chatting.
"Married? Yes." Lily answered, understanding what her father meant. It still felt unreal to see. Harry stared curiously at how they could fall in love? even in their time they fought more often.
"Strange thing to see." Harry whispered unconsciously. Lily laughed and looked at her uncle and her aunt.
"Yes, but they are a cute couple." She said.
After breakfast old Harry, Ron and Hermione took Harry to old Harry's office. Harry didn't know what they were going to do but he hoped it wasn't Hermione's lecture. The four of them sat on the couch and Hermione took out a small bottle containing a bright yellow liquid and handed it to Harry.
"Potion to stop your growth." She said. Harry looked at her not understanding what the potion was for.
"We don't know how long you've been here so by using this potion your lifespan stops now. We'll give you the antidote when we return you to 1994."
Harry understood and took the bottle a little hesitantly. He opened it and drank it in one gulp. Harry closed his eyes preparing for any reaction but it wasn't what he expected. The potion only sent a cold sensation running through his body and it was very fast maybe only 2 seconds.
"Good and don't do anything weird while you're here if you don't want to cause more trouble." Hermione said firmly.
"Don't worry Mione I'll take care of him. Aren't you?" Old Harry hugged Harry and winked. Hermione just snorted tiredly she still had to go back to the ministry after this. "I hope so, I have to go soon. Bye Harry." She said pulling Ron's hand out of the room "Bye Harry." Ron said waving his hand before disappearing.
"You better get down there. I have a few things to do." Old Harry said.
"Alright."
Harry went downstairs, first he went to the living room and found it empty. He walked around the house looking for where the children were. Harry carefully memorized the route. The ground floor of the house was very large and there were many rooms. Even this house had a large library like Hogwarts. Harry did not know if a wizard's house was really like this. The only wizard's house he had visited was the Weasley house.
After almost half an hour of walking around Harry didn't find the children anywhere. He went back to the kitchen and wanted to ask Ginny.
"Mrs. Potter." Harry called not knowing what to call her.
Ginny who had her back turned to Harry.
"Enough Ginny Harry, need something?"
"Do you know where the others are?"
"Ah, they're in the field. The door is next to the library. Come on, I'll take you there."
"No need M-Ginny I know where the library is." Harry said quickly.
"Oh really? I see you've been exploring the house." He said smiling.
Harry nodded shyly.
"Then take these with you and remind them to come back before lunch." Ginny handed him the jar of cookies.
"Okay, thanks Ginny."
Harry turned towards the exit but Ginny spoke again.
"Oh I almost forgot, at the end of the door there is a statue of Hedwig and the password is Snitch."
Harry went back to the library and opened the door beside it. It was a long hallway with plain stone walls. Harry had opened it earlier but didn't know it would lead to the field behind the house. The hallway wasn't very long, about 100 meters at the end there was a door with a statue of Hedwig in front of it. The statue was exactly like his snowy owl.
The statue looked at him, blinking and tilting its head to the side. Harry was surprised because the bird seemed alive.
"Snitch." Harry said and the door immediately opened revealing a large green field in front of him. He could see two teenagers floating under the sweep throwing bludgers at each other.
"DADDY." Lily called him. She sat in a chair on the edge of the field.
Harry walked over to her and sat down beside her watching James and Albus. It seemed they had inherited his flying talent. The two teenagers were very skilled on their brooms, even dancing on clouds.
"You're not coming, Lily?" Harry asked, still watching the two boys perform several maneuvers to avoid the bludgers.
"No, it's been in the air too many times." She replied.
"Are you going to join the team?"
After summer Lily will be in her second year.
"I honestly don't know, I like Quidditch but I only play for fun not for competition. Dad asked me about it too and he said it's up to me to choose."
"What do you like besides Quidditch?"
"I like reading books. Dad says I look like Aunt Hermione. I also like history." She chuckled.
Harry winced at the word history. It was the most boring thing he could think of. He could barely keep his eyes open while listening to goblin wars and such. He once fell asleep through class and ended up getting detention for polishing a goblet without magic.
"Yeah that does sound like her."
Lily laughed at her father's expression. She knew how much her father hated history.
Lily eyed the jar of cookies still in Harry's hand.
"Is that from Mum?" She pointed to the jar. Harry realized he hadn't put the jar down.
"Ah yes sorry I forgot." He said placing it between him and Lily. Lily ate it enthusiastically.
"I've always loved Dad's cooking."
"Harry made it?" Harry asked but it was no surprise that she was good at cooking not to brag but it was the truth.
"Yes." Lily answered with a mouth full of Cookies. She swallowed it and faced Harry.
"Dad, I always wonder who taught you to cook? You always make so many delicious dishes that even Mum can't compare to."
"I uh, my aunt. I like reading recipe books." Harry answered, he didn't know if the old Harry was telling him about his past life.
"Your aunt? Oh, is that Uncle Dudley's mother?" Lily asked, frowning. She never knew her uncle's mother, but she knew Dudley because Harry had invited her to visit him several times during the holidays. Harry and Dudley had a good relationship.
"Yeah, is she still there?" Harry asked as Lily didn't seem to know Petunia.
"No, dad said she died when James was born."
"Ah. How do you know Dudley?" Harry was curious.
"Dad often took us to his house. My brother and I often stayed there when Mum and Dad couldn't accompany us on holidays." Harry's eyes widened in disbelief. How could he leave his children with someone like Dudley. But he quickly hid his surprise, Things were different here, maybe Dudley had changed for the better.
Harry could hear the sound of the bludger whizzing towards him and instinctively lowered his head and protected Lily's head, hugging her close.
"JAMESSSS." Lily shouted in annoyance at James who threw the bludger at them, while James just laughed and got down a few feet closer. Albus just became a spectator not wanting to get involved with his sister's anger.
"IT'S NOT FUNNY YOU KNOW. WHAT IF IT HITS ME AND DAD." Lily glared at her brother.
"Oh Lily I was just testing dad's reflexes, you know dad have good reflexes." He said without guilt while Lily snorted.
The four of them went back inside the house after Harry said to go to lunch. Lily mumbled in annoyance beside Harry and James was not bothered at all. James and Albus returned their Quidditch equipment in a room next to the entrance hall. The room was made of glass and transparent. Harry was amazed to see many brooms with models he did not recognize lined up inside.
"Why so many broomstick?" Harry asked Lily who momentarily stopped muttering and turned to what her father was seeing.
"We have a lot of cousins so during the holidays they often play here."
"How many do you have?"
"10, 11 with Aster. She's Uncle Dudley's daughter."
Considering the Weasleys wouldn't be surprised at the grandchild they have. But what? Dudley's daughter?
"Dudley? He had...I mean his daughter is a witch."
"Yes, Uncle Dudley had two children, Zinnia and Aster. Zinnia wasn't born magically, but Aster was."
Could that be what made him change? Because his child is a witch?
Harry didn't know how long his thoughts were lost before he realized he had already arrived in the kitchen. James and Albus arrived shortly after.
Ginny wasn't in the kitchen but old Harry was wrestling with a sausage.
"Hi Dad." Lily said standing next to old Harry peeking at her father's cooking.
"Hi Lily. Having fun?"
"Well at least until James threw a bludger at me and young dad." Lily gave James a glare. She was still upset with her brother.
"James. Don't do something like that. It's dangerous you know." Old Harry scolded James.
"Come on dad. I was just playing around. I know you have good reflexes so it won't hit her."
"Still dangerous, what if Harry doesn't notice? Don't do something like that to your brother or I'll confiscate your broom." Harry threatened.
He didn't like it when his children got hurt.
Lily stuck out her tongue in mockery of James for successfully getting his father's defense.
James sighed and gave up, he didn't want to deal with his father's anger.
"Okay, okay."
