It's the last night of the Japanese rocket apology tour. Roman and Gerri have been to a local restaurant and are pleasantly drunk as they walk back to the hotel, Roman putting his hand on Gerri's waist to steady her as she stumbles in her heels.

"Well, this trip has been fun," he says finally. She raises an eyebrow. "You know what I mean. Not the thumb business. Getting to hang out with you." The stone cold killer bitch is actually enjoyable to spend time with, it turns out. Their conversation has ranged from Kendall's many failings to Roman's time as a movie producer (she hates The Biggest Turkey in the World too) to Gerri's rise through the ranks at Waystar.

"I suppose it hasn't been all bad," she concedes. They've arrived back at the hotel and he steps back to let her go through the automated doors first.

"After you, my lady. My most delightful acquaintance," he says in an English accent, then wishes he hadn't. Gerri doesn't seem to mind though, smiling at him as she steps into the hotel.

The elevator is full of people, none of whom appear to recognise Roman as they travel up to their floor. He and Gerri sneak looks at each other as they walk down the hall to Gerri's room.

"Well… goodnight, Rome." She turns to him outside the door and gives him a brisk businesslike kiss on the cheek.

He stares at her, too stunned to speak for a moment, then manages, "Night, Ger."

He watches the door to Gerri's room close and then walks back to his own room, his heart still thumping at Gerri's proximity. This is so weird, he's never normally nervous around anyone. She makes him go weird, for some reason.
