Chapter 63

Monday July 8th 2013, Special Victim's Unit, 16th Precinct, Manhattan

Olivia was about to stand up when her phone chimed. She recognized the familiar tune, instantly she knew someone had sent her something through blackberry messenger.

'Can we talk?' Olivia sighed as she read the three little words, and rolled her eyes. It wasn't the first message she had received from the sender since the party, and she knew it wouldn't be the last. She didn't respond to them, but instead opted to send a message of her own.

'Good luck today, I know you'll do great,' she typed. She knew it sounded corny, but after the party things had become slightly awkward with the recipient.

"Knock, knock," Olivia heard as her office door creaked open.

"Captain!" Munch smiled as he entered the room, while Fin and Rollins trailed in behind him.

Olivia finally stood from the seat she had occupied since she arrived earlier that morning, and walked over to her desk.

"How was everyone's weekend?" Olivia asked as she crossed her arms over her chest, while perching on the edge of her desk.

She watched, and listened as the trio in front of her took turns answering.

Munch responded jovially, he was particularly happy that Jet was starting in the unit that day too.

Fin sat back on the couch she had just been sitting on, he was simply content that people had helped him clean up after the party on Friday.

When the attention turned to Rollins, Olivia noted the other woman looked tired, as she let her gaze roam down her body.

She glanced up as Rollins cleared her throat, and began speaking. Olivia noticed Amanda wouldn't look directly at her.

"Glad you all got some much needed rest, however," Olivia started to say after the blonde had informed them that she had slept for most of her weekend off.

Getting up and walking around her desk to stand behind her chair, she continued, "1PP has officially refused my request to replace-"

"They're irreplaceable," Amanda stated in a tone that had the other two officers in the room raising an eyebrow.

Olivia gave a quick nod, "Right, well 1PP thinks we can get along just fine with one less Detective. They believe the addition of Jet should suffice."

"As far as the three of you are concerned, as previously discussed you're all aware that you'll more or less be working together?" Olivia questioned them, wanting to make sure they were all on the same page.

Three nods, as well as an, "Aye aye Captain!" from Fin, gave Olivia the reassurance she needed.

"Any other problems, anyone need to discuss anything privately?" even though she asked the room at large, she was really prompting the blonde Detective.

When they all confirmed they were good Olivia dismissed them from her office, they all had work from the previous week that needed attending to. She shook her head and pulled her chair out, taking a seat she propped her elbows on her desk, bringing her hands together in front of her.

Again she dwelled on how things had changed since the party, she just hoped that the people affected could separate their personal lives from their professional lives.

However if Rollins' attitude was anything to go by, then the Captain knew she needed to have discussions with multiple people.

Olivia leaned forward, and rubbed her temples, she could feel a headache already beginning as she remembered how the situations that took place at the party, were completely preventable.

Friday July 5th 2013, Detective Tutuola's Apartment

The party for the departing Detectives was in full swing by the time Olivia had arrived. Fin wasn't too peeved she was late since Rollins, and an overly bubbly Melinda had apparently helped with the setup.

Olivia tried her best to mingle, but she could feel a set of eyes constantly on her.

She was having a particularly hard time ignoring her soon to be ex-SVU Detective, she could still feel the remnants of the orgasm Elliot had given her not long ago.

Olivia could feel beads of sweat collecting on her skin. She purposely chose her outfit with the hot weather in mind, but she was currently regretting her skin tight jeans. Every time she squeezed her legs together, she got a pleasant sensation in her core.

Olivia made her way into the kitchen in search of a cold beverage when she bumped into the other guest of honour.

"Carisi," Olivia acknowledged the young man.

"Hey Cap, glad I got a moment alone with you, I just wanted to thank-"

Olivia waved her hand dismissively, "I know, but I just want you to know I think you're making the right move, and the DA's office is lucky to have you!"

She patted his shoulder a couple times while giving him a sincere smile.

"Thanks Olivia, means everything comin' from you," Sonny confessed.

"But hey what are you doin' in here, can I grab you a beer? Bourbon? What's your poison?" Carisi joked.

Olivia bit her lip, "I've got it, you go mingle, after all these people are all here for you."

Carisi beamed at her before walking out of Fin's kitchen. Olivia understood why Rollins had asked to hide the cake in her fridge, there would have been no way to hide it in Fin's with people constantly opening it to grab drinks.

Olivia opened the refrigerator, enjoying the cool air on her hot skin. She bent over to see if she could find any drink that didn't contain alcohol.

"Ahhh," she gasped and spun around as she felt someone brush against her jean clad ass.

Standing up straight she was immediately starring into a familiar set of blue eyes. A set of eyes that were twinkling.

"What are you doing?" Elliot mumbled, his hand was pressed against her hip.

Olivia looked around.

Fin's apartment had an open floor plan. The only thing separating the kitchen from the rest of the apartment was a breakfast bar.

Olivia knew nobody would be able to see Elliot's hand placement, unless they walked around the counter and into the kitchen.

Olivia returned her attention to her boyfriend. She raised an eyebrow, "Trying to find a drink."

"Hmmm, there's tons of beverages in the fridge," Elliot stated, as he started rubbing his thumb back and forth along her hip.

"There are, but I'm looking for something without alcohol," Olivia tried to ignore his wandering hand.

"And why's that?"

Olivia knew she should take a step back, anyone could walk into the kitchen.

"Because," she started to say, "Because I'm pregnant, I'm pregnant with your baby."

Olivia could physically see the joy in his eyes as he heard her words.

"Damnit Liv, I wanna kiss you so badly right now," Elliot expressed, as he moved his hand, he slid it into her back pocket, fully cupping her ass.

Olivia took a deep breath, and closed her eyes, "Soon," she promised.

He wasn't even touching her bare skin, but she could feel her body responding. The reckless part of her wanted him to slip slip his big hand down the back of her jeans, as they stood together in Fin's kitchen while a couple dozen of their colleagues were mere feet away.

She wanted to feel his large fingers slip through her juices from behind, before he plunged one, and then two of his thick digits into her repeatedly.

Olivia turned her body and pressed her hands against the counter as Elliot stood beside her. She tried to catch her breath, no one could see that one of the guests of honour was fingering his Captain, while they celebrated him and Carisi.

"Oh, I-ah," Olivia was thankful for her dark loose blouse, as her nipples hardened from her lovers actions.

"Ummm, I-" she muttered.

"Liv, Liv, yo Benson!"

Olivia opened her eyes as someone bumped her shoulder.

She blushed as she realized she had been fantasizing about getting fucked in her friend's kitchen while her colleagues were steps away.

Maybe she really did have a kink, maybe she did get off on the risk of getting caught.

Fin was on the other side of the counter, while Elliot stood beside her.

"Can you grab me a beer or what? You okay?" Olivia could see Fin scrutinizing her.

Olivia nodded, "Sorry just tired after yesterday."

"I got it," Elliot squeezed her ass through the pocket of her jeans once last time, before turning around, and opening Fin's fridge.

Olivia took that moment to leave the kitchen, and the temptation that was her boyfriend.

She really was looking forward to the day when they wouldn't have to hide.

Granted even once they disclosed she wouldn't be screwing her ex-Detective in public, or her friend's apartment, but she would enjoy the little things.

She wasn't sure if it was her pregnancy, but she was falling in love with their connection, and intimacy. Something as simple as his hand on her hip, or his finger stroking her hand.

Olivia smiled to herself, she knew Elliot felt the same. If he had it his way he'd constantly be touching some part of her body, he even seemed to enjoy giving her a foot rub at the end of a long day.

It wasn't long before Olivia found herself in a familiar situation when she tried to exit the bathroom in Fin's bedroom. She splashed some cool water on her face, and neck, in the hopes of calming her raging hormones.

"Fancy meeting you here," Elliot rasped as he leaned against the wall outside of the ensuite. He had clearly been waiting for her.

"Hmmm, I'll admit I'm experiencing some déjàvu," Olivia gave him a wide smile as she noticed he had shut Fin's bedroom door behind him.

"Good, so I don't have to drag you back into that bathroom to refresh your memory?" Olivia laughed lightly, her boyfriend had no trouble recalling most of their relationship, good or bad.

"If this place wasn't swarming with NYPD I wouldn't object but-"

"Yeah yeah," Elliot cut her off as he grabbed her hand and tugged her towards the bed.

"There's one thing about that day that I need to redo," Elliot explained as he sat on the foot of the bed.

"It should've been me kissing you on this bed, not Nick," he whispered before grasping the back of her neck, and pulling her forward until their lips connected.

Whatever objection she had, left her brain the moment his mouth touched hers. There was no mistaking the intention behind the kiss. His lips were demanding, and possessive. The lip lock was clearly that of a man trying to mark his territory.

Normally Olivia wouldn't stand for such caveman behaviour, but the warm tingling in her lower abdomen had her blaming their baby for her reaction.

When Olivia heard a particularly loud laugh on the other side of the door, she quickly pushed Elliot away.

"Damn El, no-not here!" Olivia stood quickly, needing to put as much distance between them as she could.

"Sorry," Elliot smirked as he stood to his feet.

Olivia took one look at his face, and knew he wasn't sorry in the least.

"If we got caught now-" Olivia began to say.

"I know, I know," he held up his hands in surrender, "But do you know how hard it is for me to be out there with everybody, and not able to hold your hand? People keep asking me about my plans for the future and I can't say shit about the most important parts?"

Elliot rubbed his hands over his face, "I can't take my eyes off you, I feel like every question someone asks leads back to you. You are my future!"

Olivia gave him a soft smile, "You have to stop that by the way, I can feel your eyes on me."

"And I know it's not easy but it won't be for much longer, hell part one is done, come Monday you are no longer in my unit," Olivia reached out and squeezed his hand.

"It's not easy for me either, when I knew Rollins was going to stop by I had to sanitize my apartment of you. I didn't realize how many little things of yours were littered around my place, it all look so natural next to my stuff," Olivia could tell the moment he heard her, she could read the emotions on his face more easily than ever before. She was going to miss that connection at work, but knew the move he was making would be worth it for their future together.

"And soon, we won't have to hide anywhere," the Captain leaned in and gave her Detective a quick peck on the lips.

"Fine you can keep looking at me out there," she acquiesced as she tipped her head towards the main living area where the party was going on.

"Looking? I'm not looking at you," Elliot replied indignantly.

Olivia raised an eyebrow, "No?"

Elliot leaned forward, invading her space, he nudged her nose, then her cheek, before whispering in her ear, "No, I'm undressing you with my eyes. Helps that I can still taste you in my mouth too, really paints a picture, and let me tell you it's a fucking masterpiece."

Olivia closed her eyes, and took a deep breath, even the smell of his body close to hers was driving her wild. She knew the moment he moved away from her.

Olivia opened her eyes, she couldn't help letting her gaze drop down to her boyfriend's firm ass as he paused at the door.

"Liv if you don't want me lookin' at your ass then don't look at mine," Elliot declared before he opened the door leading back to the party, partly being held for him.

Olivia composed herself the best she could. She was feeling warm, and she knew only part of that feeling was due to the hot July weather.

She had purposely worn a sleeveless blouse, she knew the brown silky fabric looked good against her summer tanned skin.

Not wanting to be caught in Fin's bedroom any longer, Olivia left to join the festivities.

Minutes after her rendezvous with Elliot, Olivia was mingling with a couple people from the DA's office, including Casey, when Rollins tapped her elbow to get her attention.

"Hey it okay if I go grab the cake?"

"I can go get it," Olivia offered.

"No no, please stay," Amanda whispered, nodding at the people Olivia had been conversing with.

"My keys are in my purse in the front closet, it's the-"

"Yep I know which one, I saw you come in, thanks again!" Amanda squeezed her forearm as she made a quick, and inconspicuous exit. Olivia looked around Fin's apartment, she couldn't spot Carisi, and realized Amanda probably chose that moment to leave because her boyfriend was occupied elsewhere, most likely grabbing another beer in the kitchen, and wouldn't immediately notice her absence.

Olivia did notice someone else standing alone in a corner, typing furiously on her cell phone.

"Excuse me," Olivia smiled politely as she left most of Sonny's new colleagues.

She bumped her arm against the other woman, "You can't get away for a second can you?"

"Miss Benson," Dana began, "I'm here aren't I?"

"Are you?" Olivia asked.

"Of course darlin', I'm delegating that's how I'm here, I can't help it if my number two needs a little extra instruction at times though," Dana explained.

"A little extra instruction? Or do they have a control freak for a boss?" Olivia joked.

"Men," Dana rolled her eyes, as she slipped her phone into her back pocket, "Sure hope Stabler lives up to the name, you ever work with his old man, Joe? Can't imagine having a decorated officer as my Father growin' up, and heck the pressure to live up to that name in the NYPD? Pshh, no thank you ma'am-"

Olivia couldn't help feeling defensive, "You're getting the best, I promise you Elliot is hard working, prompt, professional, dedicated, patient, committed-"

"Alright, alright, calm down," Dana cut the Captain off, "Damn honey I hope you're as passionate with your wedding vows someday."

Olivia blushed as she realized she had gone overboard, she hated that anyone would still question Elliot's abilities as a Detective.

"You okay sugar?" Dana asked, Olivia could feel the shorter woman examining her more closely for the first time since she abandoned her cellphone.

"Yes it's just- sorry 1PP won't approve two new Detectives, they think we can operate just fine with one less body and it's-"

"Pissing you off because you'd gladly keep Stabler for yourself? You don't gotta explain yourself to me honey, I understand you completely. I know I give him a hard time, but why do you think I poached Porter from the FBI? If the NYPD is going to limit the amount of people in my squad room then I at least need to compensate by hiring the best Detectives I can. Too bad book smarts and street smarts rarely occur together in men, hint why I'm always glued to my phone."

Dana nearly jumped when her phone dinged from her back pocket, "Speakin' of that's him now, told me he'd message me when he got here-"

Olivia reached out, her fingers wrapped around the Lieutenant's forearm before she could walk away, "Wait Porter's here?!"

Dana clocked the unsettled look on the Captain's face, "Whatever happened between the two of you after your stints with him?"

Olivia blanked, "Nothing why? What'd he say? I didn't even know he was back in New York."

"He's always been hot for you Benson you know that, the man doesn't even speak fondly of his Mother but he could do a TED talk about your pleasant attributes," Dana joked as she walked away.

Olivia watched as the CO opened Fin's door, and revealed another ex-FBI agent.

She saw them talking as he stepped into the apartment. It took mere moments before his dark mahogany eyes connected with hers. He looked exactly as he did the last time she had seen him, after a particularly hard case, leaving an interrogation room in her squad's unit. There was no mistaking his dark shaggy brown hair, and the permanent smirk glued to his lips, that was planted on his face as the two ex-suits walked towards her.

Rollins hummed as she twisted the key into her Captain's lock, opening her heavy wooden door, that she herself had been pounding on earlier that day.

She wasn't sure what had taken her Captain so long to answer it, she was sure that she heard weird noises before her friend finally appeared.

Rollins dropped her keys in a bowl by the door, not dwelling on the matter. She always wondered how Olivia and Fin had come to live in the same building but no where near one another at the same time. There couldn't be more floors between them, and they lived at opposite ends of the hallways.

Amanda opened the older woman's fridge, chuckling softly at the contents or lack thereof. She did notice an abundance of takeout though.

The blonde woman cursed as she placed the cake on the counter. She had remembered everything but the candles. She even had her lighter in her back pocket, a lighter she only used for lighting candles now that she hadn't smoked for over a year. Sonny had been such a positive spot in her life, in more ways than one.

Looking around the kitchen she figured Olivia would probably have candles in one of the cabinets around her.

She raised up onto her tippy toes to check the ones right above the fridge, "Annnnnnd nope."

Amanda moved on, not wanting to take too long, she knew Carisi would notice her absence. The thought made her smile. She couldn't recall another time in her life when so many people would notice if she left a party.

Rollins opened and shut cabinet after cabinet until the only one remaining was the cupboard right next to the fridge.

Her eyes lit up when she spotted a box of single colourful wax candles.

She tucked them into her back pocket and as she lifted her arm to close the door her eyes landed on another package. Another slim box that had been hiding behind the candles she had just grabbed.

Rollins' jaw dropped, she felt her hand moving on it's own accord as she grasped the other package, and brought it closer.

She thought she had recognized the non-descript box, but she needed to make sure she was seeing what she thought she was seeing, where she was seeing it.

The blonde gulped. She hadn't meant to find it, but somehow she found herself standing in her Captain, and good friend's kitchen clutching a box of prenatal vitamins, the name Olivia Benson clearly printed in bold black letters on the prescription label.

Hoppy Easter! I just dropped a shit ton of eggs for the future of this story (I think that's what the kids call them, aka clues).

A/N: (shrugs) If writing can reflect an author's mood, then you're in for it! Please try to remember NICK basically has the same work/career back story at ELLIOT'S character on the show. (Without the insane sexual tension).

A/N 2: I'm really trying to stick to the PAST/PRIOR canon storyline UP TO 2013. That includes Olivia going to Oregon when she needed a break from her partnership with a moody Nick who too was going through a separation at that time, in 2005-2008ish. I'm also including the history of Porter's appearances on the show, including his last case.

A/N 3: The only differences from the past are obviously Dana being the CO of CC (Computer Crimes) and poaching Porter from the FBI. (And obviously Serena being alive and Elliot's family and history being different).

Hoppy Reading!
