Following the Call

"I didn't think I'd be on the side of good." Jinx said aloud, as she said beside Bumblebee on the rooftop, another day gone. "I've only honed my powers to cause chaos and sow discord, or something like that."
Bumblebee looked at her with an arched eyebrow, crossing her arms. "So you've seen the error of your ways?" She nodded. "Alright, but just so you know, this will take some getting used to."
"Yeah, I know that, no need to lie to me." Jinx replied, feeling defensive at first, but then she let out a long sigh.
"No lie," Bumblebee shook her head, and she looked up and around, the night sky over them. "But it will ache, no question about that. You will feel that you don't belong, and after a while, you know."
She gave Jinx a sidelong look. "You'll get used to it."
"Used to what?" Jinx asked.
"Being a part of a team," Bumblebee replied, and she reached out a hand, a small smile on her face. "Being together."
Jinx felt her cheeks turn pink, and she then took Bumblebee's hand, grinning. "Yeah, I think I will."
"Glad to hear it." Bumblebee answered, with Jinx's hand in hers.
