Hi hi!
Enjoy
The following week was chaotic. It was the most I've gone over to my dad's house in the few years that I've moved out. After schools on two out of three days I didn't have work I was basically dragged over to his house. It was nice talking to my dad and eating him food but the reality hit and I was dragged, again, to the old practice room.I thought dad was maybe gonna have an issue with the competition but to my surprise he was super supportive. He gave us the green light, to easily for my liking. I'm just being bitter. I know I am but it doesn't make the situation any better. Whenever I wanted to do something it was an arm and a leg that I had to give up to get it. They just looked at him and he melted. I use to think it was cuz they were younger than me but now I know parents have favorite. I'm not one of his.
From what Bubbles told me when they had the conversation he encouraged us, even said that he would be somewhere in the crowd and would be yelling for us as soon as we would get in the stage.
In short it felt like a whirl wind between that, school and work. I'm over the competition before it even starts. Yet here I am back of the stage waiting for the stage hands to tell us to move up. I glance over to Bubbles and Blossom.
"I'm so nervous. Oh my god. Oh my god," Bubbles said.
"Don't say that out loud you'll make me nervous!" Blossom said.
"Powerpuff Girls you are next on the stage," one of the stage crews said. We followed them to stand near the curtain. Just a few steps away from where we would perform, there was little markers on the floor in blue.
I felt a small tap on my hand. Glancing downthere was a manicured hand cautiously reach for me. It was Bubbles had. I peaked at her, her face worried. I link my arm around her and Blossom.
"Not to get mushy but we'll do great! Don't get tongue tied on me now," I said pulling them closer together. I felt them relax a bit, the tension in their arms loosening just a but.
"Go on the stage in 3...2...1. Go. Go. Go." One of the stage managers motion us to go.
We walk on to the stage with our arms linked and are greeted by four people, weirdly enough they all looked around our age. Three guys and one girl. A boy with red hair and red eyes, contacts or eye condition yet to be determined. A boy with blond hair with bright blues. The last boy has black hair and green eyes, darker than mine. The girl had light brown hair and baby blue eyes.
"Hello! Who are you ladies and what are you going to perform?" said the girl.
Blossom was the one to break away, with a final squeeze to my arm, and went onto the main mic saying, "We are the Powerpuff Girls and we are going to perform our original song called One Last Time."
She moved to the drums and Bubbles took the mic with her bass and I went to the leftwhere there was an electric piano.
"I was a liar
I gave into the fire
I know I should've fought it
At least I'm being honest
Feel like a failure
'Cause I know that I failed you
I should've done you better…"
We finished the song, and everyone was on their feet. To my left I heard the loudest yelling of 'my girls!', I think I've ever heard my dad ever be. I look at the crowd and sigh, we're going to be in this stupid fucking competition aren't we? The judges applaude us with the roaring crowd. It took an extra minute for the crowd to settle. Looking over to both Blossom and Bubbles they had a shine to their eyes. The judges waited for the crowd to settle down before they started to talk. I leave my place and walk over to the marked X. My sisters walk up too. Waiting for the judgement of the people on the bench in front of us.
"So I don't know about you guys but I think that they were great. The vocals were solid. The band work was amazing. I don't think that I have any bad to say," the blonde one said.
"I totally agree with you, Boomer. Their performance was great. I love the song you ladies choose," the ginger said. "I'm excited to see what more you guys have!
"The best performance I've seen so far today. My favorite of today," the dark haired one said.
"So we all agree they were great. Anyways we should vote and I think that the crowd knows and we all know that it's a yes from me," the girl with the light brown hair.
"For sure," the blond said.
"100%," the dark haired one said.
"Yes, totally and completely yes," redhead said.
The girls screamed, jumped and hugged each other. They tried to hug me. Honestly it caught me off guard so I settled on patting them on the back, it felt awkward. It was so weird touching them. I cough and step away from them letting them holding onto each other. Turning to the left I wave at the direction that I think dad is at. Hard to tell where exactly. The girls start looking at the direction and see on the big screen behind us our dad with a big sign saying, 'I love the Powerpuff Girls'I rolled my eyes but chuckled at my dads sign. The girls jumped and waved at him. The people on the right side of the stage call to us.
"Come on guys," I said walking off the stage. "Good stuff guys I'll see you later. Call my phone if you need me."
"We were going to get dad to celebrate then shop for new outfits! Come with us!" Bubbles said. "we want to look our best for these next few months! Please come with us!"
"Y'know food does sound good," I look back and smile. "Where we going?"
We started walking towards the door with an 'exit here' sign.
—possibly not putting this in;
"Wait really quick!" One of the stage hand calls to us. "Would you be able to give us a few words? For the show?"
"Yes!" Blossom said walking to the waiting camera.
I sigh. Okay.. Sure. Bubbles and I walk over to the camera.
"What would you like to ask?" Blossom said with a bright smile.
"Just a few questions, we won't take too much of your time," the bubbly camera operators said.
