Chapter 91

Hey everyone! Did the last chapter post, okay? And can you see this one? Let me know! Hope you enjoy :)

"Are you sure I don't have one more day of suspension left?"

"I'm sure, Hanna. You're going back to school today," Snow said.

Hanna groaned, then popped another bite of pancake into her mouth.

"You finished all of your work, right?"

"Yes, Mom. You looked through it last night."

"Okay, I was just making sure."

David came into the kitchen with Neal. "This little man is ready for daycare."

"Are you excited to go play with your friends?" Snow reached out and tickled his belly.

Neal giggled, then pushed her hand away. He spotted Hanna's pancakes and reached out for her. He started to fuss when he couldn't immediately reach the food.

"Come, here." Hanna took him from her dad and placed him on her lap. She poked one of her pieces with her fork and fed it to him. "You just had your own pancakes, you know."

Neal turned his head towards Hanna and gave her a drool-filled smile.

Hanna couldn't help but smile back. "It's a good thing you're cute."

Neal turned back around and reached out for another bite. Hanna obliged and shared the rest of her breakfast with her brother.

After breakfast, Hanna put on her coat and shoes. "You're going to be at school today, right Mom?"

"Mhmm."

Hanna picked up her backpack and slung it over her shoulder. "What are you doing today, Dad?"

"I'm going to help Regina, see if we can find the other half of that wand."

"Mom, don't you think we should stay home and help?"

"I think they can handle it."

"You're really good at finding stuff though and…"

"Hanna, we're both going to school today."

Hanna sighed. She looked between her parents. Her mom was buttoning her coat, and her dad struggled to get Neal's hat onto his head. Then her mom pulled her school bag down from the hook, while her dad picked up Neal's diaper bag from the table. They both seemed perfectly fine…like the last several weeks never happened. Like they didn't just wake up from a curse that kept them apart. They both acted as if everything was normal and there wasn't a villain running around town trying to destroy Emma and probably all of them along with her. Hanna wished she could act as normal as they were, but she couldn't.

"Are you ready?" David asked.

Hanna shook her head.

"Did you forget something?"

"No. I just…" Hanna looked down and picked at her fingernails.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

"I don't really feel well."

David put the back of his hand to her forehead. "You don't have a fever."

"Hanna, what's going on?" Snow asked.

"What if something bad happens?" Hanna looked up at her parents. "I don't want to be away from you."

"I'll be right there at the school if you need me."

"And I'm just a phone call away."

"But…"

"You were away from us when one of us was asleep. How is this any different?" David asked.

"One of you was safely in bed. Now you're both awake and the Black Fairy is out there…what if she does something to you. What if…"

"We are going to be fine." Snow put her hands onto Hanna's shoulders and looked her in the eyes. "You've been through a lot and I know this is hard, but we have to keep living our lives, sweetie."

Hanna nodded.

"Come here." Snow pulled her close.

Hanna wrapped her arms around her mom. She really didn't want to leave them, but she knew she had to.

"How about this…your dad and I will send you a selfie once an hour so you know we're okay."

Hanna leaned back and gave her mom a smile. "You'll really do that?"

Snow looked to her husband.

"Of course we will," David said.

"Okay."

"Good." Snow kissed the top of her head. "Now, let's get going before we're late."

"Before we go can we take this off?" Hanna held up her wrist.

"No." David put a hand on her back and guided her out the door.

"Come on, Dad, please? I promise I'll be good and…" Hanna spent the rest of the walk to the car trying to convince him to let her take off the magic blocking cuff, but she was unsuccessful.

Hanna felt uneasy the whole day being away from her parents, but was grateful for the pictures they sent her. Her dad sent her a selfie with some hot chocolate, then another with a donut, and one with a pile of Emma's paperwork that she had neglected to file. Her mom made goofy faces in most of her pictures. Hanna felt silly, but the pictures really did make her feel better.

Hanna was relieved to find that her parents were both still alive and well after school. She spent some time doing homework in her mom's classroom before they went to pick up Neal, then her dad came home not long after. He updated them on everything that happened while they were at school.

They were successful in finding the other half of the wand. It was hidden in the floor under the jukebox at Granny's. The Black Fairy did confront them, but Zelena stopped her. Regina was teaching her sister how to drive a car since she didn't have magic to poof herself around town anymore. Zelena put her training to good use and ran the Black Fairy over with the car. Unfortunately she was fine, but Zelena's stunt did allow them to secure the wand.

Emma spent the day with Gold, and they learned a lot more about the Black started off the day looking for Gideon. The Black Fairy has his heart and is controlling him. Gideon didn't know where she was hiding it. Gideon also helped his father learn the Black Fairy's darkest secret. Gold was once a Savior just like Emma before his mother used the Shears of Destiny to cut him from his fate. They realized Emma isn't the one who is suppose to kill the Black Fairy, he is. The wand was meant to destroy her and so was Gold.

"Is he going to do it?" Hanna asked.

David nodded. "Regina is giving him the wand right now."

"Are you sure we can trust him?" Snow asked.

"I don't know," David said, "but I don't really think we have a choice."

"I suppose you're right."

"I told Emma we'd meet her at Granny's. Gold's going to meet us there after he's defeated her."

Hanna's face lit up. "Granny's for dinner, then?"

David grinned. "Yes, go get your brother."

Hanna went to get Neal, who had crawled over to the living room and emptied his basket of toys. She scooped him up. "You want to go get some grilled cheese, buddy?"

Neal clapped his hands and gave his sister a smile.

"Good, let's go."

Emma and Killian were waiting for them when they arrived. Everyone ordered their food and waited for Gold.

"You think he's actually going to do it, right?" Hanna asked.

Emma nodded. "Yeah, he will, Han."

"I wouldn't put it past that crocodile to double-cross us again," Killian said.

"You didn't see the look on his face when he learned what his mother did to him. He wants her gone just as much as we do."

"I hope you're right," Snow said.

The bell on the door rang. Gold walked inside. He came over to their table and set down what looked like a charred heart.

Emma looked up at him "Is that…"

Gold nodded. "Hers, yes. The Black Fairy has been banished for good."

"You really did it," Emma said.

"Thank you, Gold," David said.

"It looks like the wedding can happen after all, thanks to you," Snow said.

Emma leaned towards him. "You did good, Savior."

"Yes, well, I need to get to my son and return his heart."

"Thank you again," Emma said.

Gold gave her a quick nod before leaving.

"That's a relief," Hanna said.

"That it is." David put his arm around her, and they finished their dinner.

"David, can you give Neal his bath tonight?" Snow asked once they were back home. "I have so much to do for this wedding."

"Of course."

Snow handed the baby off to her husband and went straight to her binder, which was sitting on the counter.

"Need help, Mom?"

"Sure, sweetie! Wait…" Snow shook her head. "No. You have homework to finish."

Hanna slumped her shoulders. She was hoping the wedding planning would keep her mom distracted enough to not notice. "Can I at least do it upstairs?"

"Do you need your computer for anything?"

"No."

"Then you can do it here at the table."

"But I want to lay on my bed while I do it."

Snow raised her eyebrows at her daughter.

"Mom, please?"

"Okay, but I'll be up in an hour to check everything. If you get it done sooner, bring it back down."

"Okay, I will."

Hanna went to her room and threw her backpack onto the bed. She unzipped it and pulled out her math book. She laid on her bed and started the lesson. The material was fairly simple, so she finished quickly. The only other thing she had to do was study for her science test. Hanna pulled out the notecards, and was about to read through them when there was a knock on her door. Hanna checked the clock. It had only been 20 minutes since she came up here.

"I'm almost done, Mom."

The door opened.

"Not Mom."

Hanna looked up and smiled when she saw her sister. "What are you doing here?"

"Just seeing what you're up to."

Hanna sat up. "Why?"

Emma shrugged, then sat down on the bed next to Hanna. "What do you have there?" Emma swiped the cards from her sister.

"They're just study cards for my science test."

"You have a test tomorrow?"

Hanna nodded.

"I wonder if Henry studied."

"He did. Those are his cards. He studied at the end of class today, then gave them to me."

"Let's see how much you know." Emma looked at the first card. "What is the process called when a solid turns into a liquid?"

"Melting."

Emma flipped to the next card. "Liquid to gas?"

"Evaporation."

"Liquid to solid?"

"Freezing."

"Why are you even studying? You know this."

Hanna shrugged. "Mom will know if I don't."

"Good point." Emma pulled up the next card. "Gas to liquid?"

"Condensation."

"Okay, this one is harder…what is the term for the process when a gas turns directly into a solid without going through a liquid phase?"

"Umm…Sublimation?"

Emma opened her mouth to answer, then paused. "Honestly, I have no idea." She flipped the card over to see the answer. "Okay, no that's actually…"

"Deposition." Hanna rolled her eyes. "I always mix those two up."

"It's okay…tell me what sublimation is."

"It's when a solid turns directly into a gas without going through a liquid phase."

"See you know it."

"Yeah right now, but I'll probably get them confused again tomorrow."

"Hmm. How about this…sublimations starts with s and with sublimation you go from solid to a gas. Sublimation starts off with a solid and both words start with the letter s."

"Oh, yeah. Thanks." Hanna never would have thought of that.

Emma read through the rest of the cards with Hanna, who answered the remaining questions correctly.

"I think you're going to be set for tomorrow." Emma gave the cards back.

"Thanks for helping me." Hanna put the cards into her bag.

"I do have one more question to ask you though."

Hanna turned to her sister. "What is it?"

"Well, I was wondering…if you would be the maid of honor at my wedding?"

"Really?"

"Yeah, I mean you basically follow me around everywhere anyway so you might as well be up there with me when I get married."

Hanna smiled and looked down.

Emma gave her a nudge. "Hey."

Hanna looked back to Emma.

"Seriously…I wouldn't want anyone else standing at the alter with me when I marry Killian."

Hanna smiled at her sister.

"So will you do it?"

"Of course I will." Hanna wrapped her arms around her sister.

Emma returned the hug.

Hanna looked up at Emma. "You're not going to make me wear some pink puffy dress are you?"

"I don't know. Mom's in charge of all that."

"You know she's going to drag us to the dress shop and make us try on a million dresses, right?"

Emma sighed. "I know…"

The girls were right. Now that the wedding was back on, their mother was in full wedding mode. The wedding was less than a week away, which meant she had very little time to craft the most perfect wedding for her daughter. They finally decided on a venue. The wedding would take place on the roof of one of the buildings that overlooked the town and had a beautiful view of the clocktower. The hardest part was out of the way, but there was still a million more things to do. Everyday after school, Hanna finished her homework, then did whatever her mom wanted as far as wedding planning went. They went to Granny's to design the wedding cake and plan the food, delivered invitations, made the decorations, and, to the girls dismay, tried on at least a dozen dresses a piece. They settled on a powder blue, floor length gown for Hanna. Emma's gown, however, was still undecided.

"Mom, did she pick a dress yet?" Hanna asked.

"Not yet."

"The wedding is in two days."

"I know, I know. She'll decide. I do have an idea, but…" Snow shook her head. "Never mind."

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Mom…"

"You've proven you can't keep secrets from your sister, and I don't want her to know about this just yet."

"I won't tell her, I promise!"

Snow sighed. "Okay…I had an idea. I'm going to ask Belle to look through the back of Gold's shop. I thought maybe my wedding dress would be there."

"Mom, that's a great idea."

"I don't know if Emma will even want to wear the dress or if the curse even brought it over, so please don't tell her."

"I won't say anything."

Hanna kept her promise and didn't tell Emma about the dress. It was finally the night before the wedding and everything seemed to be in order. Belle was able to find the dress. Hanna and Snow dropped it off at the dry cleaners on their way to Emma's. Killian insisted it was bad luck for the groom to see the bride before getting married, so he was spending the evening on his ship. David and Henry were going to keep him company. They took Neal with them. That left Emma alone, so Snow and Hanna were staying at her house for the night.

Emma came into the living room and slumped onto the floor by the couch next to her Mom and sister. "Do I really need to have my toenails painted?"

"Yes, Emma," Snow said.

"You won't even be able to see them."

Snow held out her bag of nail polish. "Pick one, please."

Emma sighed, but rummaged through the bag.

"I think a pale pink would be nice or maybe…"

"I want this one." Emma held out a bright neon blue color.

Hanna laughed. "I like that one."

Snow raised her eyebrows at the girls. "Seriously?"

Emma shrugged. "It can be my something blue."

"No one will be able to see, Mom," Hanna said.

"Fine."

Snow reluctantly painted Emma's toes with the color she chose. Hanna insisted on the same, so she painted hers the bright blue color too.

"You two are not using this color for your fingers."

"Okay…" Emma looked through the bag again. "How about this one?" Emma held out a bright orange shade.

"Oh this one is nice!" Hanna reached out the lime green color to her mom.

"Not funny…"

The girls could tell their mom was trying to hold back a smile.

"Okay, fine." Emma leaned back against the couch, held out her hands, and closed her eyes. "You pick. I'm going to take a nap."

Snow picked the pail pink for the girls' nails and painted her nails the same color. Once their nails were dry, they popped some popcorn and put on a movie.

"I think you girls better head to bed," Snow said once the movie was over.

"I'm not tired, yet," Emma said.

"I'm not either." Hanna was excited her mom paused her grounding for the night and let her watch something. "I think we should watch one more." Hanna reached for the remote.

Snow swiped it from the coffee table before Hanna had the chance get it. "I think we should go to bed." Snow looked to Emma. "You don't want dark circles under your eyes tomorrow, do you?"

Emma sighed. "I guess not. Come on, Han." Emma stood up. "You can sleep with me if you want."

"Okay." Hanna got up and followed her sister up the stairs. They got ready for bed, then went to Emma's room to lay down.

Snow sat down on the edge of the bed beside Emma. "Do you girls need anything?"

"No we're good," Hanna said.

"Thanks, Mom." Emma gave her a smile. "I made Henry change his sheets before he left, so his bed should be ready for you."

"Thank you." Snow brushed the hair from Emma's face and tucked it behind her ear. "Are you ready for tomorrow?"

Emma nodded. "Yeah."

Snow smiled. "I can't believe this is really happening."

"Me either." Hanna looked to her sister and grinned. "Who would have thought you'd end up marrying that pirate?"

Emma nudged her with her elbow. "Hey…"

"I'm just kidding," Hanna said. "I like Killian."

"We all do," Snow told her. "Now you two go to sleep." Snow leaned down and gave them each a kiss on the forehead before leaving.

Hanna turned on her side and faced her sister. "I really am so happy for you, Em."

Emma turned on her side too. "I know you are."

"You've been through so much and have done so much for all of us. You deserve this and I'm really glad you found Killian.

"Thanks, Han."

Hanna gave Emma a smile, then they both closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep.
