Knock-knock! Anyone here? I wouldn't blame you; it's been like... a little over a month? Sorry! I was getting to work on this little list, along with some of the first real chapter of the story, buuuuut... well, simply put: life happened.
For a much-needed update, the first chapter is in development! And our list of contestants, as well as our main host, has been finalized! Though, I do like the idea of special co-host characters for each world's challenge coming in, so I'll take those into account when picking challenges. Keep them coming!
Hopefully, this chapter here gives you the gist of who these competing characters are, and their dealios...

1. Wario - Crazed Coin Collector (Super Mario)
"Wahahahaha! Have a rotten day! Pbbbbt-!"
This rotten scoundrel has taken on all sorts of jobs in his near-endless pursuit of cash, including treasure hunting, adventuring, and even becoming the CEO of a game-making company! While developing his latest "get-rich-quick" scheme, he heard of a quick way to earn some easy cash just by living on a dinky island on TV for a while. He's got loads of tricks up his sleeves to help him win big, and with his goody-two-shoes rival nowhere in sight, he just might win!
2. Manuela Casegranda - Divine Songstress (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
"I'm a professor, a physician, a songstress... and available~."
Beautiful, talented, and quite strong in battle, Manuela had quite the wonderful life in Fódlan. But through the years, she's been longing to someday find the love of her life to settle down with, but is denied this reality humorously frequently. When recovering from another drunken stupor, she found what looked to be an invitation to get away from it all and meet new people, and even make some money along the way. She thought that maybe she needed a change of scenery, and here she could even try to find a more... exotic suitor.
3. Aiger Akabane - Turbo Blader (Beyblade Burst Turbo)
"I've been looking forward to this! Me and Achilles are gonna blow you guys away!"
Aiger's never been the quietest, practically screaming to his friends to come participate in this little shindig and potentially win big cash. He's quite the accomplished Beyblader, beating many opponents with his partner: Achillies. Unfortunately, he may not get the chance to even use his bey in most challenges... but thankfully, his farm life and bey training have prepared him physically for some of the trials to come!
4. Vambre Warrior - Warrior For Hire (Mighty Magiswords)
"'Your issue is our mission!' That's our motto, and we always stick by it! ...to the best of our ability-"
Vambre is part of a family "bweesiness" in which she partakes in quests that vary in difficulty in order to make ends meat... or to purchase a new Magisword - magical swords that can do incredible things, like acting as a hoverboard, or shooting out water, or even making the user physically buff! When confronted by her brother about this fancy competition, Vambre claimed that she'd participate at the thought of winning big... for all the magiswords that she could buy after it all!
5. Gonta Gokuhara - Ultimate Entomologist (Danganronpa) (AluInt)
"Gonta do his best to become true gentleman!"
Despite his somewhat intimidating physique, and a lack of general cultural knowledge, Gonta's actually quite polite to whoever would give him the time of day... which was usually limited to animals and bugs due to living in a forest for most of his life. He chose to take part in this competition to get his human family to see how much of a gentleman he was, as well as to repay his woodland family for raising him.
6. Surge The Tenrec - Mean Green (Sonic The Hedgehog IDW Comics) (Neon-Trainer03)
"Nice island here. Would be a shame if someone burnt it to the ground..."
Surge wears a toothy grin whenever she gets the chance to beat the stuffing out of her opponents with her electrokinesis and super speed. It's one of the few things in her complicated, vengeance-filled life that makes her happy when things don't go her way. When she heard of a way to make a bit of dough and make things better, she immediately jumped at the chance! Knowing that her only true friend is cheering her on is what keeps her going.
7. Bandana Waddle Dee - Spear-Wielding Chap (Kirby) (Litini)
"Sure, I may be small, but I've got a BIG HEART... and a big spear that packs a wallop!"
This little fella is one of a whole species of little fellas called Waddle Dees, who live on Planet Popstar. Bandana Waddle Dee sees himself as an underdog and wants to prove himself as a hero just like his friends, despite his species' reputation for being pretty weak. With a spear in hand, he sees this as an opportunity to do just that!
8. Falling Devil - Primal Fear Chef (Chainsaw Man) (ChaosBlade327)
"A word of warning... those who do not finish their food will taste death."
From a distance, one could mistake her for a human chef. But when you feel yourself being driven to think bad, traumatic thoughts, it might be too late to realize that she may be the cause. A powerful devil with an interesting list of "dishes" under her belt, she detests whenever someone doesn't appreciate whatever she makes. She could expand her menu tenfold if she had the culinary knowledge of these otherworldly beings!
9. Zenitsu Agatsuma - Nervous Demon Slayer (Demon Slayer) (CoffeeAddict)
"I'm so scared! Scared, scared, BEYOND SCARED!"
One would assume that those who slay demons for a living would be pretty numb to fear at this point... they've clearly never met Zenitsu before. Despite the impressive powers seeping under the surface, this young man is as skittish as they come. Though, he does have his moments where the cowardice disappears to help those in need... or to make sure he doesn't die as a single loser.
10. Margaret Robinson - Impish Puppet (The Amazing World of Gumball) (Guest)
"Meh meh meh meh."
Meh meh meh MEH meh meh meh. Meh meh meh~ Meh MEH MEH mehhhhhh. Meh meh meh MEH meh MEH. MEEEEEHHHHHHH! ...meh.
11. Mr. Eugine Krabs - Crustaceous Cheapskate (Spongebob Squarepants) (Also Guest)
"Hello! I like money!"
When he heard of a way to make even MORE money than he already had, Krabs was already packing his bags and preparing his audition video! He hardly found any reason he'd be rejected. He's strong, capable, and a natural leader! (And very little shame-) He's not even worried his employees will burn his restaurant down, or how his house would look with his teenage daughter in there all alone. Talk about keeping your eyes on the prize...
12. Chi Chi - Ox-Princess (Dragon Ball) (G-Man)
"I'm no Saiyan, but I'm NOT going to be underestimated! You got that!?"
Desperate for a chance to get away and NOT live through another world-ending climax, as well as to make some money on top of that, Chi Chi took this chance near-instantly. At first, she suggested one of her family members participate instead, but ended up going herself in order to make a name for herself that wasn't just "The Wife of Kakarot." Chi Chi is not just a great mother, but an accomplished martial artist as well, surprising many with her agility and strength.
13. Captain Falcon - Supersonic Slugger (F-Zero) (Guest)
"C'mon! Show me your moves!"
This mysterious, yet boisterous individual is a renowned F-Zero pilot, using his speedy Blue Falcon vehicle to win big. But he's no slouch outside his vehicle either, also a renowned bounty hunter when he's not bashing opponents offroad. His incredible athleticism and never-say-die attitude makes him the pilot to turn to in times of trouble. And his fiery Falcon Punch will leave more than a mark on his foes.
14. Lavagirl - Volcanic Queen (The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl) (TheMasterKat)
"Sorry! Can't exactly turn down the heat!"
This kind young lady is one of the hottest in her galaxy... No, seriously. The word "lava" is in her name. A superheroine who's able to shoot molten lava from her fingertips, and melt her body into a puddle of the stuff. You would imagine that she'd be even more dangerous when she's angry, and you'd be right! Her reasons for being here are unknown so far...
15. Cranky Kong - Old Banana (Donkey Kong Country) (PeskyPrincess)
"I bet all the budget would be gone by episode one, no thanks to all these varying art styles!"
Cranky wasn't always this... cranky. But you'd be hard pressed into thinking he was! He's always complaining about one thing or another, no matter the subject, and how things were better back in older times... older, more retro times. Apparently, he didn't even want to participate! The other Kongs apparently just shipped him off to get him to live a little, instead of sitting back and watching tv. If he takes part in any challenges, it's begrudgingly. Not because he wants to win, he says.
16. Seiko Ayase - Batty Granny (Dandadan) (FairyDragon2099)
"Don't help us, and I'll murderize ya."
Being a spirit medium isn't exactly a qualified paying job at the moment, and Seiko knows that. With the supernatural powers she possesses, and a bat in her hands, this uncouth young lady's here to compete and win. She's not at all worried about the potential supernatural or paranormal activities that might happen at home, nope. It's in her granddaughter's hands...
...wait, she's HOW OLD!?
17. Swiper - Sly Fox (Dora The Explorer) (Master of Luis)
"Aww, maaaaaan..!"
Crime does pay... when you do it right. Unfortunately, this master thief is thwarted constantly by some random little girl and her pet monkey. Finally tired of the repetition, Swiper swipes an advertisement for the competition, and decides to steal the big bucks being promised at the end! So long as he CAN swipe it, he'll be fine.
18. Lana - Trial Captain (Pokemon) (EternalWriter2)
"Fishing and battling take strategy!"
Lana here comes from the region of a seemingly endless summer, Alola. She and her Pokémon, wonderful creatures with extraordinary abilities, wanted to find a way to support her family. Thinking hard about it while fishing, she had caught a potential solution to her problem right on her hook! A flyer for this island competition thing that offered a hefty reward, which got the usually peaceful Water-Type expert all fired up!
19. Peppino Spaghetti - Anxious Italian (Pizza Tower) (Guest)
"It's-a Pizza Time! MOVE IT!"
Struggling to make ends meet can make you go coo-coo crazy sometimes. Peppino's constantly worrying about something, be it money, or bugs, or annoying little mascot gremlins annoying him to death. In his desperation to make some money, he found this flyer for a little competition that, if he won, could make most of these worries disappear! And it's that desperation that makes him someone to look out for, gaining a level strength and speed any normal person could ever dream of reaching under pressure.
20. Felicia Hardy/Black Cat - Cat Burglar (Marvel) (ikennamoseki)
"Since this costume lacks pockets, where else would I hide all my tools~?"
Black Cat is a shady one, a thief who revels not in the rewards being stolen, but the act of stealing itself! A thrill-seeker, if you will. Like a cat, she's quite agile, cunning, and able to use her good looks and charms to get her way. And when all else fails? Others must pray that luck will be on their side. Sad. There's no alliances in this game to her. Just different ways carved out for her should any of her plans go awry. She usually has a trick up her...

22. Yunyun - Crimson Demon Prodigy (Konosuba) (CYOFAN)

Despite her high intelligence, and level of magical talent, Yunyun isn't as courageous as others like her would be. Just fairly timid, naive, sensitive girl who has very, very few friends. She's so desperate to make friends however, stalking others and making excuses to run into people, stalks them, or, let's say, joins an interdimensional contest partially to force herself to make a friend or two. All because of that lack of confidence...
23. Terry Bogard - Legendary Wolf (King of Fighters) (Zap429*)
"Hey, c'mon! Time to get serious!"
Terry is a very easygoing man who is friends with nearly everybody. Charismatic and cheerful, you wouldn't ever think he had an awful past just by looking at him. Trained in the art of "Hakkyokuseiken", Terry can throw hands whenever he needs to, known far and wide for moves such as his Power Wave and Buster Wolf. As for why he would come here? ...well, part-time jobs won't be enough to help carry him and the tabs he racks up when eating out.
24. Loremaster - Science Demon (Helltaker) (AluInt)
"So many interesting specimens... Good thing I always have a notebook on hand!"
The ruler of Hell itself goes by many names. "The Devil", "Mr. S", "Big D"... In this world in particular, Hell is ruled under... a fallen angel in a labcoat? What? "Lucifer"? Oh no, she's been usurped a while ago, thanks to Loremaster here. Since her days as just a Curious Angel, she's always making notes on the people and places she's around, wanting to see how they can be stretched and molded, gauging their powers, how sinful they could be. Using them, she'll use her research to her advantage and then... experimentation! Results! Science!

After many, many setbacks, he's finally managed to get a cast of characters together who will provide him a way to finally reach the coveted 5 Star Rating he deserves. So long as no pesky plumbers show up, of course...
