I took a challenge to not write any fanfics for a whole year... the year is now officially over with so I am back! My work schedule has changed for this new year so I will be working more hours, but this story isn't abandoned! Sorry it took longer than expected... I had misplaced my notes for this story and couldn't remember which Avenger was next to show up/run into Spiderman.

Chapter Seven:

Peter grimaced slightly as he squirmed in his seat. How long as it been since the group project was assigned? Oh yeah...about four days. Tomorrow was the last day of school before the weekend. Hopefully nothing pops up that needs Spiderman's attention. Peter was exhausted enough keeping his guard up around Gwen. At least she appears not to remember their past together. An alarm suddenly went off as Max stood up to start class. Pausing, everyone turned their attention to the old intercom in the corner.

"Attention please! Everyone head to the old bomb shelters below the school in a calm order. The city is under attack by Frost Giants... I repeat the city is under attack by Frist Giants." Peter wondered vaguely how this was his life. While he was sure that the Avengers could handle it, especially with Thor on their team, he figured that they could use an extra hand evacuating the streets. Hopefully they can get this done in time for King T'Challa's presentation later today...

Spiderman shot out a web, catching the car before it could hit the young mother and her child. "Get out of here! There's a shelter in the old Maurice's!" He quickly directed them to the nearest shelter, before turning back to the battle. So far, he had gotten most of the civilians evacuated. Turning around, he was just in time for Mjollnir to miss its target, slamming into him instead of the Frost Giant. "Gah!" Spiderman yelped, before plucking Mjollnir up, "Watch where you're throwing this Thor!"

Thor dropped down next to the spider themed hero, his mouth dropping open in shock. "You are worthy!" He yelled out suddenly, scooping Spiderman up in a massive hug.

"Uh..." Spiderman vaguely wondered if maybe he shouldn't have snuck off to go help the Avengers. "Thanks? Can you put me down...?"

Thor laughed as he put the child down, joy oozing off of him. "This is a joyous occasion!"

"The fact that your enemies are destroying downtown?" Spiderman decided to point out the fact that they were in the middle of a battle.

"Nay! The fact you are worthy!" Thor didn't notice that Spiderman took advantage of the way he turned his face to the sky to shout that last line to bolt out of there.

T'Challa walked up to Thor, his calm demeanor quite the contrast compared to Thor's more jubilance one. "Thor... Spiderman has left and we are supposed to be arresting him."

"My apologies. I had forgotten." Thor sheepishly turned his attention to the king.

"It's quite alright. If the pattern I've noticed is to keep going, then I will forget to arrest him when I get the chance to do so." T'Challa assured his much older friend.

Peter vibrated in his seat as King T'Challa talked about his country's vibranium supply. The Frost Giants were finally sent packing with half an hour to spare before the king's presentation. Peter mentally noted different ways that he could use the precious metal against HIM. Especially since Peter knew he was close. He hadn't forgotten about how The Wasp helped him patch up a fairly nasty injury caused by one of his Sharkals earlier. The only question is... was HE here for him or Gwen? Peter genuinely hoped it wasn't Gwen. She had no memories of that place, and in his opinion that was for the best. Peter glanced down the row towards where she was sitting with her friends. None of them realized how much danger they were in. Especially since HE was the last person anyone would accuse of doing nefarious acts against humanity.

Peter snapped his eyes forward again, his mind reeling. The explosion had done more than just affected her memories... and he was terrified to admit that she needed to access her powers sooner rather than later to protect herself from the Clones and Sharkals.

"Hey Peter! Want to come to my house to work on our group project?" Miles leaned forward so as to see him around the others.

Peter nodded quickly, making a mental note that whatever happened, he could never agree to go Gwen's home since there was a very high chance that HE would be there. If only Gwen remembered the summer she was tortured for simply existing...

A/N: Okay a little short... but come on who here wants to read about Fury grumping at the Avengers for not arresting Spiderman while dealing with the Frost Giants? Also had Peter think more on why he thinks it is dangerous for him to be close to Gwen. I have found the notes, it was Thor that was supposed to meet Spiderman...only to get distracted by the fact that someone is worthy of Mjolnir.
