Off the Coast of Costa Rica

The Gentle rocking of the ship was what awoke her, she supposed she should have mentioned she was susceptible to sea-sickness, but it was too late for that now. She stared out her porthole as she stood up, suppressing her urge to Gag. Waves rocked against the vessel, not big ones, but enough to make it wobble slightly. The Sun was rising, its Beams casting themselves through distant clouds, and as it filtered through her porthole she noticed the form of distant land on the horizon as well.

She must have slept through the entire voyage, and it must have been quicker than she thought, as suddenly the loudspeaker boomed a static voice that spoke with visible irritation.

"Dr Alyssa, please report to the Hangar at once." The Speaker boomed, and then the static crackle out of existence. She sighed, getting out of her bed. She had put on a Thick Jacket, it may be the tropics but they insisted on it, mostly because it was made in such a way to protect her from any smaller dinosaurs, and be slippery enough to perhaps protect against Medium Carnivores.

She stepped out onto the hall and walked to the hangar bay, the rocking of the vessel became more noticeable now, whatever waves were striking them were growing a bit larger and as she walked into the hangar she had to steady herself on a railing, everyone else was doing the same.

"Ah, there you are." Dr Raegis said, everyone else greeted her as the commander began to explain.

"We're holding position about 4 Miles off the Island, although we could get to within 3, it's best we leave here since getting too close risks the command ship getting grounded on the Offshore Rocks of the Island." The Commander said, bringing out a Tablet that showed a Map of the Island, it was mostly rectangular in ship, but a string of small islands stretched offshore from its Southern point then looped around to form a Thin String of Land that blocked the Eastern Coast Almost like a Bay, leaving only a narrow strait where it could be accessed. The Northern part of the Island wasn't much better, with the Topography map showing it to be rather Shallow with a few freestanding small islands on the Edge of the Shallows. The Western Part was most accessible, but their map showed they would pass through the straights in the East.

"Why did they build the site on that side if it was so hard to get a ship through?" She asked.

"The Topography worked to our advantage." Raegis said, "The String of Rocks offshore acted like a Natural Breakwater and the East Side had enough flat land to suit our needs, we were still building extra holding pens when the incident happened and from what I heard Isla Muerta was about to become a Major InGen Facility, there were plans for 2 additional docks and a Massive Expansion of the Cloning Capability of the Island, it would have made Sorna and Nublar look like Child's Play had it actually been finished."

"Huh…." She said.

"Everyone has their assigned boats, Mr Raegis and Alyssa, you are on boat 4….." She let his other reading of the assigned fade away in the back of her mind as she was escorted to the Boat, it wasn't a very big one, about the Size of a Civilian Pontoon boat but shaped like a Speedboat, with a Long, pointed Bow painted a Dark Gray with White Camo Stripes. As they filed in, the Door to the Hangars opened, Water flooded the area under the boat and lapped against the hull.

"Hold onto your Butts." The Operator of the Ship said, the Clamps holding the ship suddenly released as she held onto her seat, strapped in firmly by the seat belt. The boat floated away from the main ship, then there was a roar as its Engine Sputtered to life and the little boat raced away, soon joined by the other boats, in total there were 4 of them, with one being larger and hers and the other 3 being smaller. They quickly left the Large Ship behind, all Four of the Boats quickly speeding towards the Green Wall that was the Island, and as it approached they slowed and changed course to avoid some of the rocks, of which a few poked out of the water. As they went around she caught a glimpse of some of the buildings on the island, which were partially overgrown with greenery.

As they came into the Bay, she noticed that some Cargo Containers with the Words 'In-Gen' were spilled all over the rocks, she also noticed a small Cargo barge that had apparently wrecked too, the Tattered Flag of Costa Rica still hung from its pole. That Barge must have grounded itself here awhile ago, and she could faintly see Dried Red Splatters on the Windows of the bridge.

Blood.

She shuddered a Bit, but then regained focus, Raegis seemed calm, but she could guess he was just taking in the fact he was on this island again, after all this time. As they began pulling into the dock she saw something rustle in the bushes.

"What's that?" One of the Men asked.

"Spinosaurus?" Raegis asked.

She took a closer look, noticing its smaller size and complete sail she quickly came to a conclusion.

"Oxalaia." She said, "It's a Spinosaurus-Like Species, notice the Long and Thick Tail?"

"Yeah." He said, "It looks like a fish."

"It can probably Wade or even Swim in Shallow Waters, I doubt it cares about us, it's not exactly built like that one from Sorna." She said as they pulled into the dock and tied the boats up, "It has no reason to hunt small and agile land creatures like us, especially with how plentiful the waters here are."

"Are there Marine Reptiles here?" One of the soldiers asked.

Reagis spoke next, "I am not certain of all the animals cloned on this island, they lied enough to make me sure of that, but something I can assure you is there are no major facilities here big enough to clone any aquatic creatures of concern, last I checked the only hatchery that could make aquatic animals was one a Large Lake in the Center of the Island that could pump out small, Cambrian era reptiles…"

"Thank god, after what happened to that Fishing boat in Alaska I don't ever wanna encounter one of those things…" The Soldier said.

She remembered hearing about that on the news, Some fishing trawler tried to cash in on a Mosasaurus that got released into a water after an incident at Jurassic World, and in the end ended up getting Capsized when it bit onto one of its cranes, the result was the death of half its crew and the loss of the vessel. Ever since then a lot of people choose not to go on ships anymore, despite many being too big for the Mosa to take down.

"I don't recognize Oxalaia from the animals cloned here, and I don't recognize Spinosaurus either…." Raegis said, "Infact, wasn't Oxalaia only described in 2011?"

"You're right…." She said, "Oxalaia shouldn't be here, somethings up."

Suddenly, the Oxalaia perked its head up and turned it around, staring right at them. Even from 40 meters away she could tell it wasn't being aggressive, but rather curious. The Oxalaia tilted its head slightly, made a low noise, then walked off back into the Brush, its Colorful Sail swaying through the leaves of the Forest until it vanished into the shadows.

"Was that a Plant Eater?" One of the soldiers asked.

"Piscivore." She corrected, "Fish Eater, it isn't built for rapid Land Locomotion, and it is unsure of what to make of us, so it prefers either to observe or avoid humans."

"Oh, well, glad it's not a ." One of the soldiers said, she simply shook her head.

"No Tyannosaurus Rex were bred on this island, and given how hard they are to make, I doubt InGen pulled any funny business either." Raegis said, he took the lead, given he knew the island the best, as she looked around she noticed plenty of toppled barrels with marks on the ground to indicate once spilled content. One of the Cargo cranes had completely toppled over while another was clearly ready to collapse with the frame being bent visibly. The Warehouse at the dock had its doors ripped clear off their hinges, and in it she could see endless toppled shelves and cages for dinosaur transport.

"Were you guys transporting dinosaurs?" Alyssa asked.

"No." Raegis said, looking at the transport, "I never heard of any off or on island transport of anything to warrant a cage that big."

"You seem to know awfully little about this island." The Commander said, "Were you guys up to something we didn't know about?".

Raegis look at him with a unsure gaze, "I was not apart of it if there was, truth be told we weren't allowed in the West or South Areas at all, remember, of the 5 deaths this one is certainly the biggest, even bigger than Sorna, if anyone wanted to hide something it would be fairly easy."

"So they kept secrets even from you guys?" Another soldier asked

"By the looks of things, yes…" Raegis answered.

"Well, that's just great…." One of them said, "Now we have to deal with who knows what, and as a bonus there could be any colossal carnivore out here on the island that we have to deal with now?"

"I doubt it." Alyssa said, "I remember them not cloning any carnivore larger than a Tarbosaurus here, although believe me there are plenty of Carnivores the big ones are the least of our concern."

"So which ones should we be concerned about?" The Soldier asked.

Dr Raegis answered that before she could, "Well, the most concerning animal to me would be Albertosaurus, they are Pack Hunters and Highly social animals, I remember hearing Dr Jane… .do extensive studies on their behavior once we cloned them." He said with a Slight Pause when he mentioned Jane, but he carried on with speaking "They are Big Enough to Eat you, Small Enough to view you as a food source and fast, really damn fast, I Remember them keeping pace with my jeep fairly well, and who knows how many are out there now with 2 decades to do their own thing."

The Soldier gulped, and Alyssa simply kept looking forward as they walked, leaving the comfortable slightly overgrown Concrete behind and onto a overgrown dirt trail, they could still pretty easily make out the path the trail followed, and as they walked she nearly lost her balance as she stepped on something. Everyone turned to her as she reached down and pulled up a Small wooden sign that had long since fallen over.

"What does it say?" A Soldier asked.

"East Genetics Lab, but the direction is all screwed up." She said, dropping it.

"Dr Raegis, you know the way right?" The Commander asked.

"Of Course." Raegis said, "The Left fork is the correct one."

"Good." The Commander said.

As they walked, she could see the road was nearly completely overgrown, she could see toppled Lamps and a Fence Line that had been busted open from the inside.

"The Albertosaurus enclosure." Raegis said, she could see vines and overgrowth covering a large portion of the fence, and as Alyssa looked around she noticed fairly fresh tracks, Indicating a Large Group of Theropods moved through here, she guessed at least 3 of them as well.

"Let us hope we don't encounter them." Raegis muttered as they moved on, eventually they came to the old Genetics building, its windows were mostly broken, with the Door cracked open. Part of the building's roof had collapsed around the Lounge, but the rest seemed intact despite some overgrowth.

"First Stop." Raegis muttered under his breath.

Morgan, at his desk, was busy signing papers for business deals with other corporations when the man came in. He was dressed in a Suit, and was wearing a Pair of Glasses.

"I don't recall any appointments." Morgan said with impatience at the stranger. The InGen CEO watched the stranger seem unintimidated by his aggressive tone.

"Ah, where are my manners?" The Man said, "I am a representative of The North Alaska Game Association, and I have a proposition for you…."
