A/N: Well crap, I didn't think that this single chapter would end up this long, probably because there is a lot of interactions. I do wanted to split this into two but it may just ruin the flow so I guess it is best to leave it as it is. Anyway, have fun reading and thank you!

Scarlet Devil Mansion – Inside –

The interior of the mansion is very spacious and seemingly big when inside compared from the outside. Nevertheless, it was very grandeur and did not fail to impress whoever comes to visit.

Currently they are in lobby area. The lobby itself has many doors that can be very confusing.

"Whoa, this mansion is very big. I can tell that you must be a very hardworking." Rain said to Sakuya.

The maid seemed flattered by it and replied.

"Thank you, I'm not the only maid here but..." She gave a quick sigh and then continued. "There are fairy maids and recently hobgoblins that lessen my work (Not actually...). Are you perhaps interested in working here?" She asks.

"Eh? Me?" Rain points to herself. Her two friends have a different opinion about that.

"Yes, you can lounge here, have free food and other privileges the mistress can give to you." Seems like she is persuading Rain.

Reimu's ear twitch at this but she can't have the devil have her way.

"Nuh-Uh! Rain is already living with me! Who'll cook those delicious food if you take her away?" She interjected.

"I dunno, seeing Rain in maid uniform would be interesting to laugh at." Marisa said as she imagines it and could not help but giggle a bit at the thought of it.

"Oh? She can cook? That makes me more eager to recruit her then." She said with a smile.

Reimu frowned and muttered "Me and my big mouth."

Hearing this Rain seems to be not eager to be a maid even if it tempting.

"Hey! Not cool! Marisa!" She then turned her head back to Sakuya. "Sorry but I'm not interested, thanks for the offer though. I'm not really suited to that. I think."

"A shame, oh? Looks like the mistress is ready. Please follow me to the dining room." She said as she leads the way.

Upon entering the dining room a long table awaits them and there's already a person sitting just across them. Wearing a smile at them. She's dress in a fashionable way, wearing a light-pink dress with a red ribbon on both sleeves. One thing that stands out the most is that the hat she's wearing is a light-pink mob cap with a red ribbon decorated with white stripes. The bat-like wings also gave away that she's a vampire.

There is one thing Rain noticed and that is the chair where the vampire is sitting from. The way it looks is that when she sits, it makes her more tall or at an even height to Rain when they sit. This chair is actually a high chair with a design fit to be called a high class chair.

'What is that? Did she really just used a high chair to level our height? Er... it may look good but the way I see it, it is just a child sitting on baby chair. Oh, crap... don't laugh, don't laugh...' Rain resisted the urge to suddenly spurt a laugh and make a fuss on what she is seeing.

"My, hello and welcome to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Please have a seat as we await the food. I'm the mistress of this mansion. The Scarlet Devil, Remilia Scarlet. Kindly call me Remilia and drop such formalities. It is a pleasure to finally meet you in person." Her voice resounded on the room with elegance and politeness. One may not believe that a young child like girl saying this is the supposed mistress of the mansion.

Sakuya then heads out to get their food ready and so only the four of them were left in this massive room to be called a dining room.

The three sat down and Rain was surprise that Reimu and Marisa are behaving. But that was just her wishful thinking as they sat down, Reimu immediately slammed the table with her fist while shouting.

"What's with this long crap TABLE?!" She's not finish yet as she continued. "WHY? Are YOU far away?! You shitty vampire! Where's the food?! They better be tasty!"

Marisa nods and also said. "Pronto! I'm starving! By the way I'm swinging by in the library later."

Rain could only shake her head and apologize in her mind.

'I'm sorry, my friends are like this. Ah, why the hell are they like this?!' She mentally screamed her anguish.

"Damn it, Reimu you're asking the wrong questions here." Rain said after recovering from the shame her friends brought to the owner of the mansion.

"Please forgive them for their actions. I'm honored to be invited personally and I did say I'll come to Patchouli. But may I know why did you invited me?" Rain's voice became formal as if talking professionally.

Hearing this Remilia gave a half laugh and replied. "I see that you're not the same as these two ruffians."

As she said that she heard the two protest in anger. "Who are you calling a ruffian?! I'll kick your sorry ass again if you want?", "Want me to blow this place up again? ze?"

Seeing how these two would likely get them kick out from their behavior. Rain raised her voice.

"STOP! You guys! I get it you have some beef with her but can I talk to her without interruption? Please?"

The two quieted down and Remilia is impressed by this.

"Oh? You made them behave themselves? Quite interesting, I can see that you're a refined lady like me. The right to command and to be followed." She said retaining that pompous attitude.

Rain can see that Reimu is enduring the insult for her. So she replied before her friend blows up.

"I'm afraid I am asking them, not ordering them. I'm actually a little upset that you're insulting them. They are my friends if you so do continue to assault them with such words. My opinion of you may drop." She said seriously as she clasped both of her hands together in front of her.

'Rain... can't believe yer acting cool again but this time for us. Heh! Take that! Ye brat!'

'Huh... she put us first instead of her own? Typical of her... now that I thought about it that is actually the right way to communicate. I've been a jerk by saying this that might get us in trouble.' Reimu thought as she reflects on her actions.

The vampire hearing this leans in from her sitting and gave a smile. "Truly, I'm impress. Not only you possess prowess in fighting but also in socializing. Very well, I shall tell you the reason." She gracefully swirl her hand to a gesture of an open palm.

Rain and the others are eagerly waiting for her answer as they thought it would be something.

"I'm just curious about you." She simply said.

Alas, but it was just a simple reason only that almost made the three fall out of their seat.

"W-what? You mean that's it? What about being able to help me?" Rain asks as she's confuse to why did the vampire said that, is that really the only reason? If so what was that about even fighting to get here?

"Well there are other two but the other one was answered already." She said.

"May I know what that is?"

Remilia was magnanimous enough to give her an answer. "That would be your fate."

"My fate?" Rain's head tilted.

"Yes, apparently you don't have one." Remilia says confusing her more.

"Eh? Uh... can you please elaborate? I'm afraid I am not following."

Remilia paused as she hears this and simply nodded before replying. "Simple, I can manipulate fate but when I tried it on you it didn't work as you don't have one. People have this string like them that connects through time and events itself. Another example is the red string of fate, where no matter the time, place, or circumstances that people will meet." She stops and points at Rain. "Again, you don't have a single one. Are you capable of hiding it? Or perhaps you don't believe in fate and destiny? May I ask your take on it? I'll probably get the reason based on your answer."

"Fate and destiny..." These words stick to Rain as she thinks. Her friends are actually clueless to what they are talking about. All they can understand is having no fate may be a trouble.

As they were thinking, Rain spoke. "I... I don't think I believe in them." She puts a hand down in the table and looks at Remilia with a serious expression. "The reasons are if it is fate that I'd die to a certain event. Then I have no qualms about it. However, I won't accept that fate if other people who I cherish will be sad that I'm gone. Another is that if I saw a friend of mine about to die, in front of eyes. Can you say that I'll just stand around let that happen and just say it's their fate?" She then gestured her hand that formed a fist as she continued. "No, I won't let that happen! I'll cut through that so called fate! I'll shatter and severe it!" She answered with such emotions.

That was indeed a logical answer and the vampire who said to manipulate fate gave her an applause. "A good answer. There we have it. A person can deny fate but can't escape from it but you... you may have the ability to cut through it, to deny it."

This explanation felt like a revelation to the three humans. Basically, Rain may have the power to cut and deny fate as well as being immune to time stopping. Perhaps the two are connected if she's immune to time then maybe it is because of that it maybe the reason to be excluded from fate itself as she's out of the boundary of time or does not have the concept of time. But that doesn't answer the question on how did she get such powers and abilities?

"As for your memory problem, I do believe I don't have the power to help you but perhaps the magical books maybe of use to you. I'll have Patchy be notified about your visit to her library."

"So about the last one?" Rain followed up a question. "You said you have three reasons from inviting me."

"Ah, yes. That will be answered when Sakuya returns." As she finished her sentence the door opened and Sakuya is back with some of the fairy maids with their food. "Speak of the devil, that would me by the way. What did you prepare, Sakuya?"

Sakuya while putting in the plates and glasses on the table replied. "That would be red tea for you my lady and as for the guest they have for starters a beef marrow fritters. and for the main course we have a whole fried chicken, I'm currently trying out new recipes from the outside world and I happen to find our very own tasters here. On that note we also have these sweets as desserts."

Just as she finished talking all the food and utensils are at the table, ready to be eaten.

The two guest of the mansion are ready to swipe all of them the moment they find the perfect time. Reimu and Marisa seems to be drooling and aiming for the fried chicken. They could see that it is freshly cooked as the sweet aroma captivates them.

Remilia gestured the other maids to leave while Sakuya stays and actually went to serve some tea to Rain as she heard she like them.

"Ooh, thanks, I'll take a sip if you don't mind." She then takes her red tea and savored the taste.

"Wow, this taste really good. What's in it?" She asks and Sakuya answered back slyly.

"That would be blood." The moment she said that Rain almost spits out her drink.

"You're kidding right?" She said with a anxious voice.

"Yes, I'm kidding." She responded with a smile and neutral voice. Perhaps this is her way of teasing.

"Yo! Let's dig in!" Marisa declared as she tries to reach in to the chicken.

However, Rain slaps her hand while commenting. "That's bad manners, Marisa. Don't you know that as guest of another house, we'll have to wait for the owner to give us permission?"

"Sheesh, Rain. We're gonna it eat this sooner or later! Besides! Why do ya have that memory instead of something useful?"

Rain shot a glare at her and replied. "It is useful. This is a common memory and habit! Like basic common sense! Why do you think I can speak and understand-" She stopped midway and said. "Ah, forget it! You'll not understand anyway."

Remilia seems to be amused by their banter and said. "It's alright you may eat." She raised her cup of tea as her sign of approval.

"Finally!" Reimu said before quickly swiping a piece from the chicken. Marisa joined in too of course.

"These people... whatever... thanks for the food." She said before also digging in.

They ate happily and without a doubt they ate all what has been offered to them.

"Ahhh! That was good!" Marisa said and even burped.

"I'll ask for seconds but that might make Rain angry." Reimu said as she finishes her drink.

"Of course I will, this is not a food bar. We're eating for free. You guys even chowed down that chicken more than I could eat. At least, I have eaten most of the sweets." She happily said as she pops in the last chocolate to her mouth.

"You really like sweets, miss Rain." Sakuya commented.

"Erm...yes... is that bad?" Rain fidgets a bit as she thinks this is embarassing.

"Not really, in fact it was very girly of you."

The way Sakuya worded that seems to fall either from compliment or an insult.

Just after that Sakuya then hands in Rain a book. Which Rain find familiar, as it is the same book she rented back with Alice. Remilia must have asked Sakuya to rent this or Sakuya rented this book herself?

"Uh, what's this?" Rain asks even though she knows what book this is. She is asking why did Sakuya hands in this book to her.

"The mistress would like you to sign it."

Rain looks at her in bewilderment as she thought.

'Eh? Did I hear that right? She wants me to sign it? What? I'm not even the author!'

"Um, there must be a mistake as I am not the author of this book." She calmly said.

"Yes, we know." Sakuya answered still with that smile on her face.

'Then why the heck are you asking me to sign it?!'

Rain then looks at the head maid's mistress. Remilia's face is that of a child eagerly waiting. She imagines something that this child might sulk or even cry if she refuses.

"Um, before I do... can I know why?", 'Sorry about this Agatha...'

Sakuya turns to her mistress and said. "The mistress seems to be a fan of this book. The main character of the book strongly resembled your traits and characteristics that she thinks your the character that came to life. It doesn't seem to be a coincidence that you appeared as the book was published." She explained.

'I haven't freaking read the book yet! How should I know about the main character? Also that Remilia is acting like a child...uh...well she do looks like one but-' Her thoughts froze as her friends comments at her.

"Ah, come on Rain, just sign it already and head to the library." Reimu nagged.

"Look at you Rain. Gaining a fan already." Marisa teased as she giggled.

She could only shoot an awkward smile at them while mentally saying. 'Shut up! Both of you!'

"Um...where should I sign?" As soon as she said that. Sakuya points at the bottom of the first page of the book as she opened it for her.

"Oh, here is a knife." She added while she hands in a silver knife, this must be one of her knives. As expected sharp and deadly. The blade gleamed towards her eager to be used.

'For what?!'

Then she remembered what she did back then when she signed the invitation letter. Here face then went "Oh".

"Wait a minute? Did you rented this book or bought it?" Rain said as she will feel much worse if they did rented this book and return it with her blood sign on it. But pretty sure they will not if they did rented it.

"We bought it of course. The mistress actually instructed me to buy five copies."

Rain gave a sigh as she finally used to the silver knife to slightly cut her the skin of her thumb. This is the same thumb that was used to do a blood sign back then. She seems to possess a strong recovery as she demonstrated it once from that day she got hurt. As blood came out she quickly stamp it on the said location for the sign.

'Don't tell me I have to do a blood sign for that other four books?' She thought as she handed back the book to Sakuya.

"Thank you, no need to sign the other remaining books. My lady likes to keep one unique to herself." Sakuya said feeling happy based from her tone of voice.

Rain then looked at the vampire seemingly very happy when she did a blood signing. Her bat wings are flapping even if her face seems to not show much that is enough to guess what Remilia is feeling. A child very happy to get what she wanted is what is on Rain's mind.

Sakuya goes to her mistress's side and handed in the book. Remilia herself seems excited as she receives it. After that she slowly risen from her seat.

"Much obliged, this will be a fine addition to my collection." She said and then turns her attention to the three human. "They are free to go. Sakuya you know what to do." She then slowly walks away from them to go out from the room. Possibly back to her own private quarters.

As Remilia left them, Sakuya speaks up. "Let's head to the library, lady Patchouli would be pleased to have you there." She then darts her eye to Marisa. "Excluding you, book thief."

Marisa seems to be unbothered by this and just put up her hands behind her head and snickered.

Scarlet Devil's Room

Remilia gently closed the door behind her and looks at the book that Rain made a blood sign.

Her room is actually very grand. Many things that are considered expensive or to foreign are in display. Of course the room matches her motif, dyed in scarlet. There's also a big fancy bed as expected but there is one thing that is off and that there is a coffin is placed on top of it. Not really strange when it is a vampire lives in this room. But Remilia herself in the past said that she does not need a coffin to sleep as those are for the dead. Either that is a lie or an excuse like she is sleeping on a bed but the real bed is the coffin which is on top of it then it still technically counts as a bed.

"Ah, I finally have it! The mark of her blood!" She exclaims with glee.

"The princess herself is here! And she shall take me with her along in her grand adventure! Ah~ how wonderful, the way she answered is really like the princess herself in front of me! She continued as she twirled around like a little girl whose wish has been fulfilled. Quite the opposite of what she showed to Rain and company earlier, is that perhaps a facade to hide this side of hers?

She looks again at the said book entitled "The Bizarre Adventures of Princess Nira".

"I first rented this book to see if it is worth it based from the rumors about being good. After a few days of reading I decided to buy it and even get four more copies of it for the others to read." She uttered to herself. "As I read through it. The more I got attach to it. A royalty princess abandons her position just for some world adventure? I saw this as absurd but after reading the reasons why. I started to get it and even started to sympathise with her. Especially about how her fellow humans treat her as only a political tool. I want to line them up and throw my Gungnir at them."

She continued her ramblings as she sits down on the side of her fancy bed.

"The princess has originally had a long white silky hair but she cuts it to be short as a sign of her going out in her journey. She maybe a princess but she's also an excellent fighter. Secretly training herself and reading to hone her skills. Truly, a remarkable trait. But one thing I like the most about her is her determination and boldness. The fate of being a princess, she did not let that chained her. She met different people and even different beings whom she recruited to her adventure and also became friends. One particularly that I had my eye on is the vampire knight."

Just thinking about how the knight looked made Remilia squirm a bit. "Ah, how I wish he and the princess could be together but alas, the vampire knight must be left behind as he has a duty." Her emotion changed as she remembers the scene.

"I hope he pursues her. But a love between a human and a vampire is inconceivable...or is it?" She wonders as time goes on. Then she remembered Rain who she said greatly resembles the princess in the book.

"Yes, I shall have that scene come to life! The way she talks and even her determination is very much like princess Nira. All I need now is to have her play that role!" She said as she eagerly awaits Sakuya to return back to her with the supposed princess in tow.

Scarlet Devil Mansion – Library –

The party stands at a huge door that leads to the library. They have to go down from some stairs and Rain thought it was a basement at first. Maybe it is but she has no idea as this is her first time here after all.

Sakuya pushed the door open and there emerged a very wide room, too big to be compared to the dining room. As expected from a library there are so many shelves full of books and possibly tomes too. Each arranged in a neat and orderly fashion. At the center they saw a person sitting at a chair. There are tons of books too in the table and that same table is somehow have a shape of a crescent moon. The girl is reading a book with what seemed to be a coffee in her hand. This person is wearing like what seemed to be a pajama.

They approached her and as they draw near. Rain quickly recognized the girl reading the book and actually blurted out.

"Ah, the Pajamagician, I mean the magician wearing a pajama. No, what I meant was... nice to see you again, Patchouli!"

This earned a laugh from Marisa and a few chuckle from Reimu, while Sakuya seemingly smiled. Patchouli on the other hand frowned a bit and narrowed her eyes when she saw Marisa.

"Hehe, pajamagician. I'll add that to my vocabulary." Marisa said as she eyes some of the books.

"Ugh, did you have to bring that thief along?" She scowled with annoyance.

She without a doubt is pertaining to Marisa who always steals the books from her library.

"Ey, this time I got em' free passes! Thanks to Rain." She gestured to her good friend.

The yokai magician could only click her tongue as her response to that.

"So, I'm happy you actually came, Rain. I've watched the fight. You didn't disappoint when you said back then that you can handle yourself." She closes the book she is reading as she turned her attention to Rain.

"Thanks, I do said I'll visit. I just didn't thought to get formally invited." She scratches her head as she said that.

"That's Remi for you. Anyways, you may tend to other things more important, Sakuya."

Sakuya slightly nods and said. "As you wish, I'll be back later after you finish. As the Mistress still has business with our guest here." She then turned her back to walk out of the library.

Reimu didn't like that as she commented. "And where will you be taking her? I'm still here to ensure her safe return to the shrine and not you guys making her into a maid or a light snack."

Rain flinched when she heard both the words maid and snack. She's trying her best to not cause a scene or let the two do either as it may cause her to have a punishment or payment in which the two words above are the likely outcome of it. Hence, no fighting or spell card battle while inside the mansion. Any furniture is very much an expensive one or even worse an antique, should one of them breaks or damage it. She'll sure as heck be the one to answer for it as she vouched to be the one responsible.

"Looks like I need to talk to mistress about it. Can't grab the cheese if there are two rats guarding it." She promptly said before closing the door.

"Tch, I heard that. Stupid devil's dog." Reimu uttered.

"Now, now Reimu. We ain't getting nowhere if ya antagonize her like that. Ain't that right? Pajamagician?" Marisa chirped like she's very close to the said yokai magician.

"Yes, I'm this close to blasting you with magic. Go somewhere to read while I'll perform some test to Rain. Don't try to steal them, you wouldn't want your friend here to be held accountable, no?" She stood up and gestured Rain to follow her.

"Sheesh, I won't. Don't wanna sully my good friend's name ya know? I'll just come back sometime!" She proudly said as she grabs a book and started reading it, forgetting the fact that she's here to keep a look out on her friend. So much for her words.

Reimu is the only one who's with them. They didn't wandered that far so Marisa can actually find them easily should she decides to follow them.

"Erm, what kind of test are we talking about anyway?" Rain asks as they turn left to a section.

"Just some basic magic check up." She quickly replied.

"Okay but I do have another question though." Rain puts a hand behind her head. "Why did I won that fight? I can see that, Remilia stopped the fight just before the fight gets more intense."

Reimu who's hearing this can't help but monologue to herself. 'How is that still not intense?'

"Hmm, I think she did because any further would damage the mansion. Besides, she judged you the winner as you've shown that your techniques are beautiful and refined. If Meiling used more techniques then she might have won but then again, a beautiful technique is not based on how much it can destroy but rather how it was executed which you demonstrated. I like the fact that both of you cared for your surroundings. Hence, the limit of techniques you can show. I'm sure you have more to show but we can see that some other time as we're here." She stops as a particular shelf.

"Kindly have a seat." She said and then she did a single clap.

"Yes! I'm on it!" A girly voice said just behind the shelf.

In just a few seconds a girl with bat-like wings emerge from behind the shelf carrying a chair. She wears a black dress with white sleeves. She has a small pair of black, bat-like wings on the sides of her head and long red hair.

"Uwaah! She's a little bit scary." She said while setting up the chair.

"Koakuma, don't be rude to our guest." Patchouli reminded her.

"Y-Yes!" She quickly apologized to Rain but could not help utter her thoughts aloud. "She's tall like a wall!"

That didn't quite sound like a compliment to Rain who somehow felt she's insulted as she frowns over this.

Reimu on the other hand just nods silently while chuckling.

Right after that a book smacks Koakuma in her head. "You're not listening are you?" Patchouli reprimands her and turns to Rain "Sorry about her she's a little mischievous devil." She then forcibly made her supposedly assistant bow her head by pushing her hand through the little devil's head.

"Uh, it's alright." Rain said as she felt bad for Koakuma being punished.

After that the little devil left them as she still has work to do. The chair is placed and ready to use. This was only used bacause Patchouli needed Rain to be at her height level. She can just fly while doing her magic but didn't do so it since it's too much of a bother.

"Hey, how about me? Do I get a seat?" Reimu said as she folded her arms.

"No, you're not the one taking a magical test now, are you? If you want a seat badly then try fiding one. Our hands are full at the moment." Patchouli said in a neutral voice.

"Hmph, just asking."

"Now then, Rain I want you to have a seat and relax yourself. I'm going to perform the test." Patchouli said as she positioned herself.

Rain did what she's asked and before they start she asks. "What's this for anyway?"

"To see if you have magic and what element do you align. There are books here that are strictly fatal to non-magical users. Think of this as a safety check."

"I see. Well, I'm ready." She said as she sits still.

"Umu, then let us begin." As Patchouli started and touched her head. Light begins to emerge from her and slight air movements that caused both of their hair to sway.

Then a blue glyph of magic appeared and Patchouli is heard chanting, something that Rain can't understand but she did hear. "Sun and Moon."

As for Patchouli herself she's concentrating and what's on her mind is how Rain is associated with the elements of Sun and Moon. The Sun element represents activity and offense while the Moon is passivity and defense which would be a contrast but nevertheless what she saw is this.

'Two elements, quite a feat for a normal human. Let's see...so far no abnormalities. She got the innate ability to use magic but why doesn't she exhibit a single bit of mana? Could it be that she does not know she can use magic? No, perhaps it is because she lost her memory? But how would that explain the no mana coming her?' She mused and a minute already passed as she continues her magic.

'Speaking of, today is water day. Then tomorrow would be wood. Hmm? I sense something. A faint but detectable little magic. Could it be hiding? I'll push it a little.' She increased her magic power and this caused Rain to react.

"Hnngh..." She felt a bit cold for a moment and a stinging pain in a second.

"Hey, don't overdo it. Whatever you're doing to her. If she gets hurt or have some side effects. I'll pin the blame on you." Reimu said as she watches.

"This is basically harmless, not even an offensive magic. So why don't you shu-" Patchouli's words were cut as she felt and saw something. She stared to Rain with her eyes widen. The magic then stopped as she fell and landed on her butt.

"Hey, you alright?" Rain said as she looks at Patchouli who's looking at her with a shock expression. She seems to be sweating and not moving. This worried the two and they consulted her.

"She seems to be in trance or something. Quick douse her with a water or something." Rain said as she looks at Reimu.

Reimu approached her and then said. "Is she? Then allow me." She then readies her wooden stick and then bashed the supposed tranced yokai magician in the head.

'Crap! She did it! We're so in trouble! I could swear I can hear a cracking sound when she hit her!'

Rain is at loss for words for this.

"Mukyuuuu." This is the only word they heard, is it a whimper or some sort?

'Ah, that was cute. Keh! That's not the point!'

"Hey, Reimu... why did you hit her?"

Reimu shrugs and replied. "Hmph, it worked didn't it?" She then looks at Patchouli who snapped out of it. "Start talking or you'll get the stick twice!" She pointing the gohei at her.

"Is this how you gather information?" Rain whispered to herself and wondered if her tactic is beat them up first and then ask questions later. Which she surprisingly guessed right.

The magician slowly rose from her feet and gave a heavy sigh before replying. "Just a little mishap on my part, nothing to worry about. I've concluded based from the magic test that you have two element that is associated with you." She formed the number two gesture for numbers. "However, they both contradict each other. Hence, you unable to use any magic for each of them. To be specific, you have the potential of using magic but at the same time can't use it as the two elements Sun and Moon which you can use, both cancel each other. Nevertheless, you are capable of defending against magic. Which means you'll be able to read some of the books encased in it." She ended her explanation.

Rain got the idea and felt a bit disappointed about it. There is nothing she could do about it. After all, this is not her focus and can be addressed some other time.

"I'll be heading back to my study table now. Feel free to have a read on some books that may help you. If you need anything ask me or Koakuma." She then leaves them like nothing happened.

"What now?" Reimu asked Rain.

"I dunno, I think you hit her too hard in the head." She replied quickly.

"Now your blaming me?" Reimu said in an annoyed tone.

Rain then turned her eyes to the books near her.

"Not really... I'll have a look around. Ooh, seems like we are magic books section. Maybe there's a spell or information that could help me in my memory problem."

"Suit yourself. I'm going back to where Marisa is, who knows what she may do?" She turned around and sighed. "Babysitting really is tiring."

"Hey! I heard that! Haah~ just... make sure she doesn't do things that may get us in trouble." Rain reacted as she doesn't like being treated like that but then resigns hese

Reimu's response was just waving her hand in the air as she walks away, leaving Rain in this section alone. Perhaps she deemed it to be safe to leave her alone, even if Sakuya earlier did say something about grabbing the amnesiac girl when she's alone. Did that maid really like to tease people like that?

Rain did ask Patchouli if she knows any spell or some tome that could help her but the librarian seems to not remember if she indeed have some. Well no one can blame her since there are tons of books here.

"Hmm, not this one." She's browsing the books fortunately for her they are written in a language she could understand. "Correlation of elements... maybe I'm in the wrong section?" Rain spoke to herself as she decided to go to another section.

She read the section title but failed to understand it as it written in a different language. But that didn't stop her as she made an excuse "That sign can't stop me because I don't understand it!".

Meanwhile

"Yo, Reimu! Did you guys find anything? Also where's Rain?" Marisa waved with a book on her hand.

"No luck, I let Rain read them. Reading magical books is not really that interesting to me."

"How about a magic book that can grant money?" Marisa said while grinning.

"I-I think I can make an exception." Her face shows that she's interested. "Wait! You're just toying with me are you?" Reimu's face went back to her grumpy self.

"Yeah I am, that look on yer face though reminds me of how Rain reacts. Even she won't fall to such a trick." She said with a smile.

"Oh? Then shall I remind you again not to mess with me either?" Reimu's gohei seems eager to be in action.

"Erm... forget that I said that." She slowly turned her head to another book. "Getting beaten up by a wooden stick is sure to hurt." she softly murmured.

"Did you say something else? Let me know."

"Nope! Nothing! Let's go pester that pajamagician!" She said as she returned the books back to where they belong. She sure is keeping her promise about behaving. That just shows that she is indeed a person that won't let her friends down.

"Don't make her angry, we can't afford a spell card battle that may as well cause a ruckus." Reimu reminded her as they both started to walk to where the Patchouli is.

"She's always angry if ya ask me. Whenever I visit she always yells like an angry old lady. Also a little tag game with her and she's done for because of her asthma. Coughing up like she's kicking the bucket or something." Marisa nonchalantly said.

Reimu shakes her head at this and replied. "Guess that's one the reasons. Don't say that to her when we meet her again."

"Eh? Why?" Marisa's head tilted.

"Just shut it, Marisa." She hushed her.

"I can't understand any of these... they are probably the same language as the one in that sign. Maybe there isn't any magic that can do that huh?" Rain said to herself as she gave a sigh.

"Hmm?" As she's about to leave. Something attracted her attention and walks to it. "A glowing book?" She looks at it but didn't touch it yet. "Normally, things like this are bait for something bad to happen." She added and cupped her chin. "I...I have the urge to open it. Damn... should I?"

But curiosity got the better of her and proceeded to grab it.

"..."

"On second thought I shouldn't..."

But curiosity got the better of her and proceeded to grab it.

"Eh? It repeated? Hey! You just wanted to move the plot! It's an obvious trap! I won't fall to such traps. Try Marisa, she'll nab this book from the get go. Huh? What? It's a book that gives sweets?! Well, why didn't you say so?!" She gleefully said while finally grabbing the book.

As they say being curious is not idiocy but rather when one is easy to be deceived being offered what they like the most.

"What?!" She exclaimed as she's surprise by the sudden flashing of light around the book as soon as she lifted it.

"No! I am surprise by what you just said! You called me an idiot too! Most importantly! You lied about it being a book of sweets!" as she said that blue lights then began to cover her. "Ah, damn it...I'm being ignored... you fu-" Her words were cut as a blue light fully surrounded her and away she goes. Only the book she touched is left on the ground. The magic in it disappeared and it returned into a normal book.

The next thing Rain came to was that she's somehow in another room. It was a big and exquisite room, has the motif of a scarlet and of course paintings. One thing she took notice was that there seems to be a lot of cute stuff toys and even dolls in here, as well as a big fancy bed with a coffin in the center of it.

"Crud... I shouldn't have touched that." She said as she survey the room. Her eyes went to a table with four chairs but looks like it has nothing on top of it. As she looks at the fancy bed she saw this little girl sitting there while reading a book. Besides the girl is a teddy bear that looks a bit worn out. As for the book if she looks closer that book is the same one that she just signed not long ago. Perhaps that would be a copy that Remilia have bought for she stated she did get four more copies of the same book.

The little girl has red eyes and short blond hair, which is tied into a single ponytail on her left side. Wears a red dress and vest, with a pink shirt underneath and socks. Also wears a pink mob cap with a red ribbon attached. On her back there seems like wings that are very peculiar that it cannot be called like that but since it can flap then maybe it is a wing. The tip of her wings has eight crystals which are presented in seven different colors.

For Rain she seems like an ordinary little girl but the truth is she may as well encountered the so called monster of the mansion. For this room belongs to the sister of the Scarlet Devil, Flandre Scarlet. The other name for this room is-

Flandre Scarlet's Playground

The little girl named Flandre finally notices her and puts down the book she is reading.

"You are?" her voice seems curious with a mix of cold tone.

Rain still not moving from her position replied. "Sorry, it seems like I got transported or maybe teleported here. I'm Rain Nanase. A guest of Remilia Scarlet." She said that to lessen the worry of the one she is talking to but on the other way around it seems that was not the case.

"Sister did? Ah, she did say someone interesting will be visiting today. Nice to meet you princess. I'm Flandre Scarlet. Sister of the Scarlet Devil." Flandre introduced herself.

When Rain heard her name and mentioned that she is Remilia's sister. She already guessed that this person is a vampire too but wonders why her wings are like that. Nevertheless, she needs to go back. In a way that the little sister won't find rude.

"P-princess? Uh, I think you two are really fixated on that book."

"Am I wrong? That person said so..." She seems to be still talking about her sister albeit in a sassy way.

"She suddenly gave me this book and told me to read it. Well, I did like it. The way she can freely explore the world. Not confined to a room like mine. Don't get me wrong, life here is pretty cozy for me." She hops off from her bed and started to walk to Rain.

Rain felt that this vampire is seemingly odd. Like a kid saying that she's envy but then changes the way what they are trying to convey to a different one. She also has this tingling sensation of danger but she can't raise her arms against someone related to the host of the mansion not unless she's attacked first.

As she's contemplating on what to do. Flandre is already beside her and asked her.

"Want to talk in the table? The ground is cold and they are not a good company." She gestured to the table just near them.

"Yeah, thanks." Rain rose up from her feet as when was teleported, she landed on her butt appearing here.

"Hmm...you're as tall as Meiling or probably more. Looking up to you is making my neck ache. Want me to shorten you?" She asked which Rain find strange and kind of alarming as she knows what that meant.

"Is that a threat or a joke?" She has to ask or she won't be able to judge the situation correctly.

Flandre seems to think about it for a moment before replying. "A joke, of course. I...I don't really have the experience in talking so I can't have a proper conversation." She said and admitted.

From this Rain seems to get the idea that she's probably a shut-in. She then decides to entertain this vampire as leaving her prematurely would make her sad.

"Well, you are able to talk to me but no matter." She said as they both sat down at the vacant chairs. "How about this? I'd tell you my story and after that you tell me yours? We already did the name part and the second step for becoming friends is this. What do you say?" She gently smiled at the vampire looking at her with bewilderment.

"Friends? Uh...um...I don't really understand that but it sounds nice."

Rain still with a gentle smile on her face slowly nods and replied. "Then let us start..."

Scarlet Devil's Library – Earlier –

"Hey, Patchouli. Any news about the magic we are looking for?" Marisa greeted her in a casual manner.

The said magician didn't replied as she was staring at the air.

"Hellooo? Gensokyo to Patchouli?" Marisa waves her hand to her but to no avail as she seems to be in deep thought.

"Here, let me." Reimu said as she readies yet again her wooden stick.

Just before she bonks the head of the idle magician. They heard her say. "The pinnacle of magic..." before snapping out of it.

"Ah! Wha-what are you two doing?!" She suddenly blurted.

"We? What are YOU doing daydreaming?" Reimu said.

"I am?"

"Lucky you, the stick didn't came down on you." Marisa folded her arms. "What is this pinnacle of magic yer saying?" as a magician herself she too will be curious about it.

Patchouli seems to avoid the topic by tilting her head. "Did I say that? That is my research, haven't you already know about it?"

"Eh, maybe I forgot. The only thing I want is the pinnacle of magic fire powah!" She said in an fired up tone.

"Sure you are." Reimu said with a straight face. "So? If there's no magic to return Rain's memory then it's about time I drag her home. I doubt her problem could be solve by magic anyway."

Marisa also chimed in by saying. "Aren't the magic from the outside world are much more suitable for that?"

"No, she won't come here if such thing is possibible. Maybe what she need is the blessing or a miracle from a god." Patchouli answers with confidence.

However this didn't sound good to Reimu and even thinks she's being insulted. "Hey! Are you saying my shrine is not enough to give her that blessing? Also you're saying miracle don't tell me you're planning to send her to that SHRINE!" She slams the table as she said that.

Both of the magician knows that her shrine really does not provide enough blessing or even a miracle but they opt not to say it less they want the stick to the head.

As for the shrine she is talking about that would be the Moriya Shrine that is located in the Yokai Mountain.

"Gah! Just thinking about their smug faces about it is making me fume!"

"Now, now, Reimu calm yer tits down. Oh wait you don't have one." She casually said and after that she instinctively covered her mouth with her one hand and the other is guarding her head.

She feel the anger that was supposed to be at the other side now targeting her.

"Y-Yo, let's not get violent here, kay? You did say we must not do anything that can get us kick out right?"

However, Reimu is not buying it and sooner or later someone is going to get hurt and that was none other than her.

"Looks like I'll have to flatten yours to say the same thing, no?"

Marisa gulped at what she meant and that would hurt like a ton if it indeed were to happen.

Before anything else could happen Patchouli suddenly stood up. "?! You two! Stop! There's something that happened!" Patchouli interfered.

"What is it? You seem distress enough to make me stop flattening this rude magician." Reimu said as she rolls her eyes.

Marisa thanks the magician internally for stepping in and also asked. "Yeh, anything wrong?" She leans in as if nothing happened.

Patchouli's face seems serious and said. "The experimental trap book that I'm working on... activated."

"Whazzat? A trap book? First time I've ever heard of it."

Reimu's face then went pale as she realized what Patchouli meant.

"Damn it, not again. I swear that you just can't leave her alone."

Marisa's face went a full change when she too gets who Reimu is talking about.

"What exactly does that trap book do?" Reimu asks.

"It was actually an anti-theft book. It glows in a way it will attract this thief here and upon activation it teleports the one who touched the book." Patchouli explained.

"Er...you made that for me? Talk about rude... I'm just borrowing it until I die. No need to place such measures ya know?" Marisa seems quite offended at this. To think that a thief is actually offended by that is very off putting at least that's what the librarian thinks.

"The nerve of you saying that it's rude. It's just an experimental."

"Hey, the real question is where did that teleportation spell send Rain?" Reimu said as their talk is straying away.

Patchouli then turned to Reimu and with a serious voice she replied. "To Flandre's room."

The two humans looked at each other and Marisa first reacted. "What the heck! If I was the one that touched that then I'll be the one sent to her! You know handling her is very difficult."

"Oh, now you worry about yourself and you think your lucky that Rain took that trap for you?" Reimu said as she gets ready to move.

"No, I can handle myself about that little sister but I dunno about Rain. Let's go get her before she gets blown to pieces!"

They all set out to get Rain and just as before they move, two people suddenly appeared and that would be Remilia and Sakuya.

"I heard what happened, we need to go down there, fast." Remilia said as the others nodded.

As to why they know about it. Perhaps they are already notified about it by Patchouli or they were there the whole time, listening.

"So you don't actually remember a thing?" The little vampire said.

"Yes, actually I still haven't progressed at all. What is happening is actually me, meeting new people. Well, it's not that bad. How about you? You said you have the power to destroy absolutely anything. A incredibly powerful ability but it did cost you greatly."

"Mm... sister said that I need to stay here until I know how to control it."

Rain knows that the little vampire already knows how to fully control her ability. Her only problem is her lack of understanding to others. The concept of what is right and wrong.

"Well, I can tell that your sister loves you as she doesn't want you to get hurt or be in trouble. So continue to learn about how to talk to people like how are you talking to me right now. The world outside the mansion has rules that you and I must follow. For example just because you and I did not agree on one thing. What would you do?"

Flandre thinks about it and replied. "I read and have been taught about arguments. Patchouli said that I must learn to restrain myself from getting angry, annoyed or to let go. It's very hard to understand but I think I kind of agree to not just destroy that person in an instant."

This, this is her very problem. Her mind is still the state of child learning about the world. The only problem she only posed was the overwhelming power she possesed if not for this maybe she could have a normal life.

"I see, no worries, Flandre, I'm sure you'll be able to understand. You have your sister and the others too. I'd like you to start talking to them if such opportunities arise. They will be your stepping stone to maturity. While I'll be your first friend. You also said you met Marisa and Reimu right? The black-white human magician and the red-white shrine maiden? They are here with me too and I've made friends with them."

The shut-in vampire's red eyes glows in awe and she finally smiled. A smile that she herself didn't knew but she did anyway.

"That's good, smiling makes you look good and cute. Your sister would be very proud of you. That said let me hear your thoughts about what does a friend mean to you? I'd given you the definition earlier but this time use your own words and feelings."

Flandre takes her time in thinking about it. Rain could tell that she's giving her best. It took her a minute or two before finally giving her answer.

"A friend is what you don't hurt and I have to protect them and they'll protect me. Helping each other out and trusts them." She somehow squeezed out these words in one sitting without stammering which just shows how she's willing to cooperate.

Rain gave her an applause and praised her. "Very good, now I do have other questions but this is about your sister."

Flandre nodded and waits for her question.

"Remilia said she can manipulate fate and also said I don't have one which confused me. How does her ability work actually? I haven't asked her since it would be rude to doubt it."

The vampire quickly replied with a snort. "She's just showing off. I can't really understand why she does that. She just like talking that way. Did that bother you? I can talk to her about it."

"Eh, ah not really! I just think that she does indeed sound mysterious and charismatic when she do that. By the way, talking that way to your big sister is quite rude. She might reprimand you if she hears you talking bad about her. Anyways, I'm in no position to talk like that. I think that's what you call a sisterly love and bond."

"She's just five years older than me. But I guess your right. I learned a lot from you. You truly are the princess Nira that I'm reading in the book!" She exclaimed seems like her timidness is starting to wear off.

"Yes, yes I do. I can't really say no if you make that face." Rain said as she looks at the happy little sister vampire.

"Although. I do have a question." Flandre raised a hand seemingly trying to be polite. Rain nods and lets her shoot that question.

"I told you that I have the ability to destroy anything by squeezing the the 'eye'. I can see them and destroy it by just crushing that eye. Anything that gets its eye destroyed also gets destroyed. However, this is the first time. I saw someone without an eye. That would be you princess. Are you hiding it? No, I don't think so. You're very friendly and didn't know about my ability so I know that you're not lying."

Rain seems to be thinking about the little vampire's ability and could not come up to answer as to why she doesn't have an eye. So the only thing she could answer is to be honest about it.

"I don't really know but is it bad if I don't have one?"

"Nope! If it's you then I can rest easy that I won't be able to destroy you accidentally. Though if your different does that mean you're broken? The same as me?"

"Flandre...you're not broken. You'll just need to grow and learn." She assured her, making the vampire smile again.

"Really? Though even if you have an eye I won't hurt you because you're my friend!" She said still smiling.

"You're right." Rain then stands up from her seat and then said. "Have you ever experience hugging? That can be done with friends and to the ones you'll love."

The vampire shakes her head as she replied. "Hugging? No, I don't think so. How do you do it?"

"I see, then I shall teach you. After this, you can try it to your sister. I'm sure she'll be surprise."

"Really?! Then!" She hops out of her chair.

Rain then kneels to even the level of her and Flandre. "Come here, Flandre, this is how you do a hug." She extends her arms out and waits for the little vampire to come to her, smiling warmly.

Flandre slowly walks to her and the feeling she's experiencing is that this person is welcoming her with open arms and the smile indicates more it. Without realizing it, her body automatically did what she doesn't know what to do. She felt the warm embrace of the human whom she befriended. As it wraps her arms around her. She felt safe and comfortable. This warm feeling is called 'Happiness'.

It may have been seconds but she felt that this embrace is lasting forever. There is only one thing that she didn't foresee and that would the alluring temptation to bite the neck of the human embracing her. It was calling to her, she can't resist it and so her sharp fangs sinks into it.

Rain felt a sharp pain as Flandre bites her. She could only let out a soft moan of pain as blood gets suck out of her. There is nothing she could do but to endure it. She can also feel that the Flandre is trembling and feel that the vampire maybe crying or it was the blood that is being spilled that she feels?

Flandre pushes her back as she finally gets a grip of herself and Rain saw her with teary eyes. Her mouth stained with her own blood and it is trying to say something.

"I-I... I am sorry! I don't know what came over me! I... I hurt you didn't I? Some friend I am..." She sniffled as tears finally came down to her bright red eyes.

Rain still feeling anemic weakly smiled and says. "Flandre... it's alright. You're learning. Why do you think you are crying? You're regretting that you hurt me. That just shows how you care and sorry you are." She slowly crawled over her to wipe her tears.

"You did good. I-I do have to ask..." Rain seems to be reluctant but did so anyway.

"What does it taste like?"

With this question Flandre seems to finally calm down and replied. "Um...it tasted bitter at first but then it felt sweet. This is the first time I did that though. Most of the food I get are done by Sakuya."

"I see, ow... stings a bit after a while but I'm alright. So don't blame yourself. Next time try to restrain yourself or ask for permission." Rain said making Flandre return back to her cheerful mood.

"Mm! I'm sorry again for doing that. Big sister." She smiled.

"Big sister? Um.. yeah feel free to call me that. About the biting, no worries, a vampire's habit I guess. Though I worry that your sister might get mad about it. I'll talk to her about this so you won't get in trouble. After all-" Her words were cut as she then felt a sharp pain in her head. This is the same one back at the shrine and forest.

Befriending a vampire... what a joke. You're the exterminator...

A voice echoed through her head.

Fight her, exterminate her... you'll be doing this world a favor if you get rid of her ... and me too...

"Gghh...No...I won't!" She said as she fights this voice and distance herself to Flandre who's looking at her with a confuse look.

Flandre seeing her talk like that felt that something is wrong. Did she do something that made her act like that? She's ready to blame herself for it when she saw it. A cloud of darkness enveloping her new friend. She can't do anything about as she can only watch if she tries to attack it, she only ends up attacking and hurting her friend.

I've been waiting long enough... We need to speed things up. Soon, you'll be mine... revenge will be ours... the world will offer their souls to mine! What I didn't achieved back then will soon be realized...

"Argh! No! Just what is happening?!" She cried out in pain and began thrashing around.

There is no use in resisting, you're weakened thanks to that little brat. For now, I'll shall test your capabilities...

As soon the voiced said that. Rain can feel that her own consciousness is being stripped away from her. Someone is trying to take over it, replacing it as their own.

She could only fight back mentally but she can't as it said. She is weakened.

Soon after she stopped moving and slumped to a wall.

"Big sister?" Flandre called out to her and after a moment. She felt an aura of darkness gushing out from her. They are so strong that it felt that another person is in front of her.

Rain got up and suddenly laughs. "H..haha...Hahaha...AHAHAHA!" This laugh echoed throughout the room. Her lips begun to make a wide grin. Her body was shuddering not from fear but from joy. Her continued cackles are very haunting and menacing.

"YES! I can feel it... this power will soon be mine. Hmm?" Rain looks at the little vampire that is silent the whole time. "What's wrong? Aren't you going to hug me again? Heh!"

Flandre curled her hands into a fist and shouted at her. "You're not her! Get out of her body!"

The seemingly Rain glared at her with her cold eyes.

"So you can see me? What? You want to save her? Kukuku... Then!" She unsheathes her swords and pointed it at Flandre.

"You have to fight me, to weaken me so she may regain control. Lose and she shall be no more. Only I... Now... give me your best fight!"

Before Flandre could say anything. The possessed Rain lunged at with her drawn katana as she slashed her.

Flandre quickly moved away from her. She's not fighting back, not yet as she is hesitating.

A vampire's speed is almost as fast as a tengu hence she can dodge that easily but what comes next is Rain's metal boots kicking her from behind.

Flandre gets knocked back at a corner. The well arranged room of hers now is a mess.

"Hmm, not enough power to kick through the flesh?" Rain uttered as Flandre gets up and quickly grabs an object that looks like a crooked clock needle that was flung along with her.

"Looks like more memories is needed to get most of the powers back. Tch... I can't access them if she can't. Stupid magic sealing shit, I can only remember a few things before the sealing." As she blabbered on.

The little vampire has recovered and quickly swung her clock like sword at her.

Which was swiftly blocked by Rain with ease.

"Kid, you're fighting the greatest yokai exterminator to ever live. Feeble and hesitating attacks like that are rubbish."

As she said this another blow came from behind her and sent her flying out of the room. She crashed just outside the halls and this seems like a basement due to how big this area is.

"I see, a clone, huh?" She quickly gets up without any damage at all.

(Cue, U.N Owen Was Her – By Myon ~ Conceal The Conclusion – ).

She quickly looked up as she sensed four presence. One behind her and three at up in the air.

"Heh! All according to my plans." She softly murmured.

She then raised her sword and violently declared. "Now! Let me see your power! Feed me with it! Make me... her... much more STRONGER!"

"Give me back, my big sister! You monster!" Flandre yelled as her Lævateinn and the Possessed Rain's sword clashed.

Just the impact from the weapons clashing is enough for the whole mansion to tremble.

This clone of Flandre is still as strong as its original. The three from above the air will be firing bullets and lasers at her. This one is there to pin her down.

"YES! That's it!!! I can feel your anger! Your hate! HAHAHA!" She laughs and laughs as she parries all the attacks from this Flandre. Her face is twisted from grinning too much.

A single swing from Rain could cut a pillar in half as she did earlier. The sounds of their weapons rang throughout the basement as they fight in this almost dim area. If Reimu and others arrives to see this. All they'll see are the flashing of the clash.

"Come on! I haven't even use any sword technique yet and you're struggling? As expected from an unripen fruit." She said as she grabs the clone Flandre by the neck.

In terms of experience, Rain clearly wins this one as her body is much more battle ready than her.

She then slashed her down and the clone exploded.

"Hmm, a single slash killed it? Oh, right a it's clone." She then looks up and saw the other three Flandre firing bullets at her while the one with the main weapon must be the original.

[Taboo "Lævateinn"]

Lasers come out from her weapon in a straight line as other bullets came in barrages. This would have been easy to dodge if one is flying but Rain is grounded to the floor. No doubt it would be hard to dodge, or it?

With her quick movement speed there is no such problems in dodging such lasers. She runs to the left of the corridor and begun wall running.

"Forgot to tell ya brat! She can also magic! Here have a taste!『Fireball』." Right after she said that red orange glyphs formed in her hand as she sprints to the wall and then a bright streak of flashes came from out of hand.

As bullets came to her, she swiftly dodges it and parries it back to its sender. Making it a perfect substitute as a bullet.

The Lævateinn is producing a laser like bullet as it spins. It may produce loads of bullets but there is a weakness. As it spins, she opens a huge opening behind her.

Enough bullets were sent back to the clone Flandre at the left as it explodes, leaving the center and right as the remaining ones.

The spinning Lævateinn catches up to her and she had no choice but jump. It was intended anyway. As now she's able to reach her with her sword and magic attacks.

"Checkmate, little brat." She cockingly said as another glyph of magic surrounded her.

『Dragon Lightning』A seemingly dragon shaped lightning sprang forward as it quickly seeks its target. The right clone was hit and exploded immediately upon contact.

As that spell is aimed at the clone. Her sword attack is without a doubt aimed at the original.

Face to face in the air. Rain is about to unleasha sword technique that could be very well a damaging one.

Flandre readies to receive it as she can either transform into a swarm of bats to dodge it or just block it with her weapon. Apart from that she still has many abilities left unused perhaps she is still holding back.

But what came next was rather unexpected as Rain then spurted out blood from her mouth and this disrupted her.

"Guagh! T-The shitty s-seal is at it again!" She exclaimed as she loses her balance in the air and Flandre saw this chance to seize an attack. With her Lævateinn in hand, she used it to stab her in the stomach. Which surprisingly easily went through. Perhaps she is weaken enough due to the said magic seal.

"Aaaargh! Y-You! Tch...looks like I need more time. I may have lost this battle but I'll win the real battle. Until then I shall bide my time." She said softly as she closed her eyes and Flandre felt the darkness retreating back. She tried to reach it but nothing happened. They then both fell down from the air. Crashing through the ground.

Through the rubbles there sits Flandre besides the unconscious Rain. She's bleeding all over as the stab left a wound.

"..."

She could only stare at her. She herself didn't get that much damage apart from getting kick. She thought that she only managed to deal a blow to her was because the real Rain fought back and is trying to regain control.

Then she hears voices coming from afar. It must be them after all such battle is very loud and it wouldn't make any sense if none of them arrives.

– Earlier –

As they rush through the basement they felt a huge wave of energy being released and the sound of fighting can be heard.

"Rain... she's fighting her." Reimu said to them.

"Tch, we can't let her get killed. Let's hope she's still toying with her. Otherwise we ain't seeing her in a full body." Marisa clicks her tongue.

"You'll know what the consequences are Remilia. Should she die by her hands while under my protection. I'll have no choice but-"

"No! I can assure you that she won't." Remilia said and could not help but raise her voice.

"Mistress..." Sakuya could only look at her master.

"Patchouli should be the one responsible for it. If ya ask me." Marisa added earning a scornful look at the librarian.

As they drawn near the sound is getting more clear and then they heard a crackle of lightning.

A little more and they should see them. But as they did, they saw them up in the air with Flandre stabbing Rain and them falling.

Their faces consist of shock and disbelief as they hurriedly go to them.

"Ah, shit! We're too late!" exclaimed Marisa.

"Flandreee!" This roaring voice came from none other than Remilia herself.

"M-Mistress! Please don't be harsh on the young mistress."

"Sakuya... If I can't control her then this would be the end." Her eyes are serious as she sounds.

"Move! I'll check for her wounds!" Reimu said as dashed to Rain followed by the others while Remilia is focused on her little sister.

"Sister..." Flandre sadly said.

"Flandre...I told you to behave as we have a guest. Why did you attack her? Surely you know that she's the princess." Remilia said without giving an emotion as she's trying to remain calm.

"I'm fighting not the princess but someone else! There's this huge darkness possessing her! It told me to fight to set her free from it." She honestly said and Remilia nodded.

"I see, you heard her Reimu. I know Flandre is not the type to lie. If you insist then-" Her words were cut off by Reimu.

"No, I believe her."

Making Remilia and the others blink for a few moment.

"If Flandre saw it and even fought it. Then that just confirms it." She explained and then Marisa asks her.

"You're not telling us something are you?" Her eyes narrowed but she then turned to Rain who's being healed by Patchouli.

"Urg...Ah...ow!" Rain quickly wakes up and sits.

"What the? You guys? What are you doing here? Oh, what happened? Arck!" She felt a sharp pain in her stomach and when she looks at it her face went pale as she reacted.

"What the hell?! Someone just stab me!"

"Stop squirming or it get worse." Patchouli said as she continues healing her.

"Er...sorry...what happened really?" She looks around and saw familiar faces and even Flandre.

"In short, you got stab by the little sister." Marisa said as she gently knocks her head with a broom.

"You mean? No, I remember talking to her and...oh I got bitten."

This statement quickly gathered the attention of them. Marisa seems to be the first one to speak.

"Bitten? You mean?" She quickly darted to her side and knelt to check. She then saw two holes at her neck which could only mean.

"Looks like we got other problems." She said to the others as she showed them her neck which earned a gasp.

"Let me see." Reimu also examined her and eventually finds out something.

"Say, Remilia... can Flandre also turn people to vampire? Because I'm sure she just did so to Rain." She said as she pointed out Rain's eyes both are now crimson red.

"Oh shit! Ye just got turned Rain." Marisa commented.

Remilia nodded at Reimu's question but also replied. "Ah, she seems to have turned but no worries she'll return back to normal after a few hours or tomorrow. This is called temporary vampirism."

"A what now?" Rain seems very confused.

"That would mean you're a vampire for a day. Honestly I don't know if you're lucky or not. That wound would have killed you but since you're a temporary vampire, you did not." Reimu said as she slowly shakes her head unsure what to feel anymore.

"Whoa... guess that explains why I don't feel that much pain down there." She shakes her head as she said that.

"Well, I'm just glad you're not dead. Yer one tough idiot." Marisa said as she laughs to lighten the mood.

"Ahem... as much as I want to ask more questions I'd prefer if we talk to a more comfortable area." Remilia suggested.

Everyone agrees and they all return back at the library.

Rain and Flandre recollected the events to them and up to the point before the fight.

"I only remember the biting part so. That's it from me." Rain said as she's completely healed.

"Eh... a vampire's love bite, that's a first." Marisa said.

Sakuya then enters the room with a tray of teas and evenly distributed it to them.

"Mistress, here's the tea you've wanted."

"Yes, thank you. Still can't believe that happened." Remilia seems uneasy and her face is that of a pouting one.

"Marisa, watch your phrasing." Reimu chided her.

"Yeah, yeah sorry."

Rain saw Flandre seemingly down over what happened and she gave a quick sigh and said.

"Flandre... it's alright. I'm the one at fault here." Rain said as she's sure if she vouch for her then no punishment will be made. She then gestures to her to come.

Flandre nodded and eventually walks up to her, giving her a hug.

"D'awww, look Remilia yer sister learned how to hug people without breaking their spine." Marisa joked but she too felt touched by this scene.

Rain pats Flandre's head and soft smiled at her.

"Uwaah~ didn't know you're into young girls, Rain." Reimu said which earned her a glare and a reaction.

"I don't freaking swing that way! You're joke is almost making me look like a pervert."

"It's not a joke." Reimu replied with a chuckle.

"Huh?! Why you...ugh. Wait...what if I bite you too in the neck while I'm a temporary vampire." Rain retaliated as a joke but it seems like that did not fly well.

"Wha-what are you saying?! Do that and I'll exterminate you!" Reimu seemingly flustered said.

"Ooh, smooth one, miss Rain." Sakuya praised her.

"I don't mind... that is if you can resist." Rain said playfully. She may not look like it but she can hit back real hard, be it on a fight or even a joke.

"Hyu Hyu~" Patchouli and Marisa seemingly said as they both join in the teasing.

"Looks like the tables have turned, Reimu." Remilia chuckles as she takes a sip from her tea.

"Ugh! You people are annoying!" She said as her face is bright red from imagining such a scenario.

"It was just a joke though." Rain reminded them and then turned her head to Remilia.

"Remilia... I just wanted to apologize from all the things that happened especially the damage down there. I don't think I have the money to cover that. So I'd like to ask you what can I do to pay for that damage?"

Remilia seems to perk up as she heard this. "Hmm, I do have a few things in my mind but are you willing to do it?" She puts up her noble class attitude again as she crossed her legs from her sitting.

Rain quickly nodded as a sign of her agreement. She just hopes that Remilia doesn't ask her to be her servant or something.

Remilia's lips curled into a smile as she said. "Very well, then I shall give my request. First is that you owe me a favor. Second is I want you to act a certain scene as princess Nira. Would that be good as a deal?"

While favors are rather dubious, she might as well agree as she did cause a big trouble here.

"I accept." She said without hesitation.

Remilia smiled again. "A good answer. Now I want you to rest for a bit. I'll have Sakuya fetch you when it is time. In the meantime. I'll be in my room. Come, Flandre. We still have things to talk about." She hops off from her seat and started walking out with Sakuya and Flandre.

The little vampire gave Rain a wave of goodbye before leaving them alone.

Rain gave a heavy sigh not because of the conditions but rather to what happened.

"Sorry everyone. Didn't know that getting bitten by a vampire can put you into a crazed state."

This statement is wrong but this is what she was told by Reimu and the others. It was a lie and the reason was that if she were to find out about this. She may very well do things unexpected such as disappearing to solve it herself or to isolate so no one gets hurt. The worse case scenario would be ending herself.

Remilia is the one who suggested this. Maybe if sooner or later Rain will find out but at least they know and will be ready to subdue her or even have the solution to it.

Reimu and Marisa quickly agreed to it as expected from them. They talk about this behind Rain's back so she wouldn't know or even suspect. Reimu shared her brief experience with it so that others may know what they are dealing with even with so little information.

As to why Remilia brought Flandre with her in her room. She maybe trying to explain the situation to her and keep her quiet for Rain's sake.

"Nah, it ain't nothing. Yer lucky it was temporary. Looking at ya with two red crimson eyes is quite new. Guess we'll know that the effect is gone once yer good old green eye returns." Marisa said assuring her.

"Marisa here, dealt way much damage than you back then so it's really not that of a big deal. The only problem now is the hole in your clothes." Reimu said as she points to Rain's clothing which has been pierced. There's no more wound in there only her bare stomach skin hanging out.

"Yeah, I need to have this fix. Anyone knows where?" Rain asked as she keeps touching her own stomach still not quite sure if it is completely healed.

"Kourin can fix it." Marisa leans in and quickly pokes her hand in it. Well the hole was so big that she can fit her hand in it. Such a fatal wound would it have been if she's not temporary a vampire.

"Hey! Quit it... that tickles." Rain said with a weak voice.

Hearing this Marisa stops as she saw that pretty cute side of her.

"O-oh, sorry just curious about how big this hole is."

Patchouli sips in her tea and casually said. "What an obedient thief, how come you aren't listening to me when I say you to stop?"

Hearing this Marisa grins at her and replied.

"Cus' yer not cute but fa-" Her voice was muffled by Rain's hands.

"Shhh, that word is forbidden!" She pulls back Marisa and continued. "Don't mind her, she just ate too much mushrooms."

It's a good thing Patchouli is quite slow to hear that. Otherwise it would be magic to the face.

"Oh, Rain. Be careful about the weaknesses of the vampires. Even if you're a temporary one you'll still possess their strength and even their weaknesses." Patchouli reminded her.

"Does that mean. I can't go out because of the sun?"

"Yes, it will burn you and there's also the beans. Though it's still not Setsubun yet so you're in the clear."

"Even as a human getting hit by those beans still hurt." Reimu commented.

"Yeah, I got hit in the face last time. I never caught who did that. Kuh! I'm getting mad just by remembering it!" Marisa added.

"I see, I can't tell what time is it as we're in the mansion with little to no windows." Rain said.

"Actually, it's already sundown. You can go after what Remi asks you to do. Do come back if your vampiric state persist."

"Yes, I will. Though I think if I did these two will be here also."

"Of course, I'm in it for the free pass! Ze!"

"Any moment we take our eyes off, you'll end up in trouble so of course we're tagging along."

Rain smiled at them as she commented. "That is why I have these great friends." She huddled the two of them close and lock them in each of her arms.

The two were surprise by this but nevertheless they both smiled along with her.

"Oh? Am I interrupting a precious moment?" Sakuya said as she entered the library.

"The mistress is ready and wants you in the main hall." She then turned to Patchouli. " Lady Patchouli, the mistress also asked me to take you along to watch." She added.

Everyone nodded and followed her.

Scarlet Devil Mansion – Main Hall –

Everyone gathered here and even the gate guard.

"So that shock was actually from inside the mansion?" Meiling asked.

"Yeah, you can't leave your post, so yer stuck there." Marisa added surprisingly they are not bickering, well at least not for now.

"I'm just relieved that both miss Rain and the young mistress are fine."

As Meiling said that Remilia came in and greeted them.

"Ah, looks like everyone is here. Good. We'll start in a few minutes. Sakuya take care of the refreshments for them." She instructed her maid.

"As you wish, mistress."

Meanwhile in another room

"Crap...why did I agree to this! Performing to a crowd with so little rehearsal is like making a fool out of myself." Rain said to Reimu who's with her.

"Well, that's what you get for not thinking about it. Anyhow, just memorize the lines and act it out. It's just a single scene. A good one that is." Reimu said as she hands her the book that contains what she needs to act.

"Easy for you to say. You already read it. Not only I'm acting it, I'm also getting spoiled." Rain said as she opens the book. "Which page is it?" She asked her friend.

Reimu flipped through it and stopped after a few page.

"Here, the scene's title would be 'Separate ways'."

"Thanks I'll read it." Rain thanks her as she then focused on reading.

She doesn't know if she can pull this off but she has to try.

"Hey, Meiling." Marisa said.

"Yes?"

"Why are we on the babysitting duty?" She asked.

"Yay! Big sister will be playing a huge part. You guys are excited too right?" This cute voice belongs to none other than Flandre.

"Just bear with it. Young mistress also missed you, you know?" Meiling said as she shoots a smile to Flandre.

"Eh...let's just hope she won't bite me."

"Do you want me too?" Flandre asks.

"Er! No... that would be bad. Didn't big sister Rain taught you that?"

Flandre nods her head and replied. "Well, she did say I should ask for permission before doing so! I dunno what's next if they refuse." Such an innocent but deadly statement came out from her mouth.

Meiling joins in by saying. "Young mistress, when people say no. We must respect it and not force them. A good example would be about lady Remilia saying no to you when you wanted another pet. We already have that 'Tupai' as her reason."

"Oh, so no forcing people to say 'yes'?"

Both of Meiling and Marisa nodded. "Yep, so no one will get hurt and ya won't be fighting."

As they talked Flandre saw Remilia and Sakuya.

"Oh, there's sister with Sakuya." Flandre pointed and the two looked.

"What the? Is that Remilia?"

"It appears so."

What earned such a reaction was they saw this little armored knight enter the hall. With Sakuya accompanying it, the person wearing that armor is without a doubt Remilia.

The way she walks in that armor is pretty awkward and clunky. This almost made Marisa laugh but she held it in as this would probably end her in a bad situation.

'Don't laugh at the little vampire knight... huh? Is there such a thing?'

"Sister looks ridiculous in that, don't you think so? Meiling?" She outward stated the obvious.

Meiling quickly hushed her and whispered. "Shhh, I know, but we can't say that. Mistress puts on an effort and courage to don that armor. So it is admirable." She said as she makes an applause.

"Oh...I see." Flandre gets what Meiling is saying.

The clad armored Remilia then gathers their attention. "Ahem! I believe the time has come! Please be quiet as the play is about to begin." She said though her voice is hard to really tell if it fits in because of her child like voice versus the armor she's wearing.

The crowd became quite and the spotlight is now on the actors.

Reimu then took the stage and greeted everyone. Apparently she's the narrator. Well she did volunteered or rather pestered to do it.

"It was nigh, the separation of a party member. There's nothing more to say than a farewell. Hence the Vampire Knight wishes to talk to the leader of the party, to tell that he will be no longer travelling with them. The leader of the party was none other than Princess Nira herself." She narrated as she went off stage.

Remilia or rather the Vampire Knight then entered the stage.

"Tis I! The Vampire Knight! Tonight will be the last time I'll spend with the party and to Princess Nira..."

"The knight could not stay in one place as he went back and forth. What should he say when she arrives? His mind is boggled at his decision to either leave his duty or follow the party. But who does he indeed wants to follow? The party or perhaps the princess? As he thinks about it the person he is waiting for has arrive."

Rain who is playing as princess Nira enters the stage. Rain herself looks determined not to flop this one.

"Ah, Vampire Knight. You're here. Did I keep you waiting? The others are enjoying their food, so much that they are throwing it to each other."

Reimu again narrates. "Her voice was calming to hear, that is what the knight thought. Her laugh is something that he won't forget but yet why is he frozen in place? The time is now to tell her that he is leaving yet he can't do it does his undead heart does not want to?"

"The night sky tonight is very beautiful. If I didn't left that castle I wouldn't have been staring at the same night again and again with the empty sky but ever since I gone out in this adventure. Every night is special."

"Princess Nira looks at the vampire knight and continued."

"You're not coming with us are you?"

"She quickly guessed it as expected from the princess. The knight turned to her and slowly nodded."

"That would be the case. The threat has been vanquish and now I must return to my duty. Forever guarding this gem."

"He said with a hint of sadness as he touched the pendant where the gem of life rest. It is said that whoever possesses this gem will be granted eternal life and it is also a part of a bigger power if the other gems are collected. Hence, anyone would want it."

"I see, well I'll let the team know or would you like to tell them yourself? They might get angry if you just left without saying goodbye."

"The princess suggested. Perhaps she has other things in her mind but didn't said it. While the knight wanted to he fears that if he stays for too long. He might not be able to go."

"No, I am good. Tell that stupid bard to stop singing about me alright?"

"He then slowly turned around. It is evident that the knight is smiling under that helmet. Just before he could completely turned around. The princess called out to him."

"Wait! Before you go... I have a request to make."

"The knight stop and waited for the princess to speak."

"Can you take off your helmet? I know it sounds rude but I at least want to see the valiant person behind the helmet."

"She slowly walks towards him and the knight replied still not moving from where he is."

"I am a vampire. My face is a hideous one. It is better if you don't-"

"His words were stopped as the princess holds his hand."

"No, a person of any kind is not ugly especially those with generous and valiant heart like yours."

Remilia felt Rain's hands and she almost break out of character as she's finally seeing the best part. Though the vampire knight is actually as tall as princess Nira.

"The knight did not reply for moment but in the end he gave a sigh and started to remove his helmet."

"If it's you then I wouldn't mind."

"As he finally removes his helmet. A pale face of a young man emerged. His eyes are bright as red and his looks is as not bad as he described. It was just his pale face and the surrounding blackness around his eyes. If he wear to open his mouth he does indeed have vampire fangs."

"Princess Nira smiled at him and touched his face, she felt cold but it didn't bother her and said."

As Rain did that Remilia herself sees how close her face is and to her vision everything is playing as if she's the knight herself. Alone in the starry night, looking at each other.

"...I won't stop you but let me tell you this. Sometimes we need to go out our own way to find our happiness. It will not find you but rather you have to find it. I could say the same for me as I did find it. The joy of being free and able to do anything I've always wanted. Not chained up by duty nor fate. All we need is a little push."

"She lets go of his face and his hand and slowly walks back away from him. Leaving the knight to contemplate to what she said."

"That would be-" Reimu's words were interrupted as Rain spoke again.

"If you ever change your mind. You know where to find us. Also, I know I can't explore the whole world in my lifetime. So maybe one day, We'll come for that gem." She gave a grin to Remilia.

'That's not in the script! Is it an adlib?' She wondered but played along.

Reimu thought about that too and plays along.

"Are you saying you'll come and steal the gem of life?"

"His face seemed to be smiling now. As he heard that. A hopeful vampire knight is seen."

"Well, I'm not a hero but rather I am an adventurer! It would be less hassle if it were right beside me, no? But that would be no fun. One day, I'll come back and show you that I'm worthy of wearing it!"

"She gave him a promise. A promise to see her again and as well as the chance to finally be free from his duty. With that princess Nira continued her walk and finally disappears back to the woods. The knight was all alone. But this time he felt more alive and hopeful. Instead of the cold wind he felt the warm embrace of her words and simply uttered these words 'I shall await your arrival, my princess.' as he stared to where he last saw her." Reimu the narrator said as she starts to wipe her teary eye.

"I shall await your arrival, my princess." Remilia said with emotion.

"To be continued." Reimu concluded the play.

The crowd gave them a loud cheer and applause.

"Huu~ That was touching!" Meiling cried out as she claps along.

Marisa could be seen wiping her eye but denies that she cried. While Flandre claps along. Patchouli can be seen whipping out a handkerchief and using it. On the other hand, Sakuya cleans up the empty tea cups and puts them in the tray.

The actors gathered and bowed at them.

"You done an extravagant job but I like it." Remilia said as they both claps at their own work.

"Thanks, I just thought it would be better that way. You also outdone yourself. Wearing an armor, you look cute in that." She said earning a flustered look at the one she praised.

Rain then went down with Reimu and greeted Marisa.

"Yo! Nice acting, princess Nira." She teased.

"Yeah, don't call me that. Thanks though." She waved off her hand as she added. "I think it's already night so we can go home. Let's go say our goodbyes to our host." She said as they all went to Remilia and the others who are celebrating.

"Hey, vampire. We're leaving as it's already late." Reimu said.

"Reimu! Ahem! Thank you for inviting me and my friends. We have a good time and even though I caused trouble, and not really get anything related to getting my memory back. I'd like to say that I really enjoyed being here. I made new friends and experience new things such as being transformed into a temporary vampire." She joked on the last part and smiled.

"Big sis, are you leaving already? Will you still come back?" Flandre said as she clings to her.

Rain pats her head and said. "Of course, I'll come by when I have the time. Besides, I still owe your sister a favor. So, be a good little vampire and study. When that day comes when you're able to go out. I'll be the first one to tour you."

Flandre then lets go of her and happily nodded.

"Oh! I almost forgot! Do you guys happen to have a two fishing rods?" She asks.

"Yes, we do but what do you need it for?" Sakuya answers her.

"Fishing of course! I'll be at the Misty Lake tomorrow morning, catching me some fish." She happily said.

"Yer weird, Rain" Marisa stated as she stared at her.

"What was that!? Maybe you infected me with your weirdness so I became weird in the first place!" She retaliated.

"Geh! I'll show ya who is the weird one!" Marisa said as she tried to pinch Rain's cheeks.

"Ow! You-" Rain pinch her back too.

This earned a laugh from the others. As Reimu is the one to break them apart.

So they were escorted back outside by Meiling and Sakuya. They waved goodbye to them before leaving.

As it is already night time. Rain had no choice but to ride with Marisa on their way home.

"Yer not growing some vampire wings, right? She ask her.

"No, that would be bad if I did. Don't try to do that trick again or I'll bite you." She reminded her as the last time she rode with Marisa. She spun their ride to the point that her vision is spinning too.

Rain close in to her neck to scare her a bit and Marisa felt her warm breath which made her flinch.

"Ngh! Alright, alright, I won't! Just move your mouth away from my neck!"

Rain gave her a grin as she pulls back.

Beside them is Reimu with an annoyed expression.

"You two love birds done flirting? I'm carrying two fishing rods here. Haah, I'm only doing this for the food you're going to bring tomorrow Rain. You better catch us some big fishes." She grunted while complaining.

"Sure, I'll think of what style of cooking would fit to a fish? Grilled? Smoked? I can think of more..." Rain replied.

"Hey, save some for us too. I'll come pick up Alice, I'm sure she'll like it too. Speaking of her. I bet if I tell her after I get home about you turning into a vampire will freak her out! Hehe!" Marisa has this huge grin on her face as she said that.

"Don't... and you forgot the temporary word." Rain shakes her head as she imagined what could happen if Alice does hear about it.

Scarlet Devil Mansion

Remilia gathered her most trusted servants and friend in the dining room. They were all sitting in a round table so they could exchange ideas and opinions easily. As they are going to talk about the person they just interacted today. Flandre is not present as she's back in Remilia's room resting.

"Alright, time to evaluate the princess. Sakuya, you go first." Remilia said as she folded her arms.

"Yes, I'd like to give my opinion on her. She's very mysterious but I can sense that she's a nice person. Though what worries is how she is able to moved through stopped time. I'd also like to suggest that we should not antagonize her. As I found this right after they left." She expressed her thoughts and concerns to them. While putting a newspaper down at the center.

"This is?" Remilia said and then as she reads it her eyes widen.

"A yokai exterminator?" Meiling said as she also reads the headline.

"Well, this is something. That would make sense as she's very powerful to earn such a nickname." Remilia said, her voice seemingly shows more interest on Rain.

"I'd like to add too that Flandre says she doesn't have an 'eye'. I'm starting to doubt if she's still a human or is it because of a hidden power?" She added.

"Oh, so I fought the legendary person?" Meiling said to herself.

"Well, she doesn't have her memories so she's not really at her full power or best." Sakuya said to Meiling.

"Guess, I'll challenge her again when she gets her memory back."

Remilia then turned to Patchouli whose been silent this whole time.

"How about you, Patchy? You did say you'll check for her other capabilities." She asked her friend.

Patchouli then said. "We need to maintain a friendly relationship to her Remi." She then slams a hand to the table which surprised everyone. "I-I saw it... The pinnacle of magic! She's...She's has much more magic than me! Even if it was for brief moment. I saw it! The colorful mana! Bursting forth like a mountain! I need to research more about her. She may even help me lead to a huge breakthrough!" She said, full of energy. To think that the silent librarian would be rambling about her field of speciality.

"At first I thought that she can only use two different elements but after that moment I learned that she's able to use all elements! But what's more interesting is that she can use more than that! I can deduce that she can use magic for other unspecified or untouch magic by us. Such as time and space! That maybe is just one of the reasons why she can move through time!" She continued to spout a lot of words that only she can understand to which Remilia calms her down.

"Patchy, calm down...you're always like this whenever magic is involved. Although I understand please keep in mind that there are others who may not be able to keep up with you." Remilia said although she herself is not following it. She's just making an excuse to not look like she's not able to understand it.

"Fine, sorry. I got a little excited. Long story short, she's a whole new different level than me as a magician. Her mana is so overwhelming that I feel inclined to just prostrate to its presence. If she ever gets her memory back. I have a lot of questions for her and I prefer if we have a friendly relationship to her. So I can keep a close eye and if possible study her." She said with a serious voice.

"Hmm, that's a big finding. Very well, I'll work on that." Remilia declared.

"Then again, she really is a nice person. Take Flandre as an example. She taught her to express herself more often and I could say she did a good job in it. Flandre expressed herself to me in a way that I wouldn't expect." She added with a happy sigh. "A hug, I never expected that. For decades of years we would only talk each other. I know she respects and loves me but who knew a hug would feel so special? Truly she's growing, thanks to Rain. She was even kind enough to apologize and complied to my request. Why do you think we should not build a healthy relationship with her?"

The others nod at her statement and Sakuya gives another one of her concerns.

"Now that is settled. I'd like to ask about the other part of her. That darkness Reimu and Flandre are talking about." She seriously said as she continued. "Rain herself is nice but what about that one? It was hostile enough to attack the young mistress. Though I'd like to pay it back with some of my knives. I cannot do that as it is somehow possessing miss Rain who doesn't seem to know about it."

"Hmm, if it emerges again. Then we will be ready. I'll have you Patchouli to do a research about dark magic. It may have a connection to that. While Sakuya gathers information about her past. We already have a lead thanks to this newspaper. You, Meiling would be doing the repairs." She said and ordered.

"If that is all then this meeting is over. I'll head back to my room. Oh, and Flandre will be staying with me for a while. Don't let her get out of the mansion. This is just temporary as her room is under repairs." She gave them a wave before dispersing them.

Meiling seems to be disappointed that she's on repair duty. Well, at least she's being useful. Today has been a beneficial day to the Scarlet Devil Mansion and its dwellers. The sister's relationship improved even if it just a little. They all experienced new things and even got to partake in a short play as actors and audience. All it cost was just a minor damage to their property and it is not huge deal. They pretty much expects their new acquaintance to visit again and they'll be very much welcome her.

Extra — Dreamy Night —

Hakurei Shrine

Reimu opens the sliding door. As she wears her sleepwear.

She yawns for a second before saying. "Today has been very tiring. Don't you think so Rain?"

"Yeah, I'm tired and WHY THE HELL I'M TIED UP!?" Rain suddenly shouted as she's trying to break free from the ropes that she's tied me.

Reimu slids in to her futon and replied. "Just a precaution. Don't want you suddenly biting me."

"That was just a joke! Come on, untie me. Where did you get such a tight rope anyway?" Rain said still trying to break loose but to no avail.

"Bear with it until morning. You're not getting out of that rope as it is a yokai binding one. You'll be free if it detects that the vampirism effect is gone. I'm sleeping now so be quiet." Reimu then turned her head away from her.

They did have a distance even if the room is small. Rain stared at the ceiling as she quietly murmured. "This is too tight... just think of this as training." After staring blankly at ceiling for a few minutes she finally closes her eyes and fell asleep.

It was quiet. After all she's asleep. Perhaps it is because she's tied up that she's somehow awake while sleeping? She then heard a noise, someone opening the sliding door. Maybe it was Reimu? So she ignored it. However, the next thing she felt was something heavy. Like someone is sitting on top of her. She tried to open her eyes slowly.

What she then saw was actually a person on top of her.

"?!" She saw a familiar face but since it was quite dark the figure looked scary to her. Before she could say anything. This person hushed her.

"Shh, you'll wake Reimu up. Sorry I just have to see it for myself." This voice belonged to none other than Alice. What's she doing here at this time?

"A-Alice? You almost gave me a heart attack!" Rain whispered to her.

'What is Alice doing here? Maybe I'm still sleeping and she appeared in this dream?' She thought to herself.

Since Alice looks like a doll. She is beautiful but at the dead of the night. Seeing her in the dark would not be so pretty especially with her dead pan face.

"Marisa told me what happened so I kind of panicked and rushed over." She said softly.

"That...witch...ugh...I'm fine actually. I did turned to a vampire temporarily."

"I can see that, your eyes are both dyed in crimson red."

"So, you just came here to just check on me? Sorry, I'm actually tied up at the moment. You know Reimu." She jerked her head as she used it to point at the sleeping shrine maiden.

Alice giggled a bit at what she said and finally decides to move away from her but Rain stopped her.

"Going home already? I did make you worried and it's already so dark outside. Sleep here with me. I still can move a bit and we'll fit." She offered with a smile.

"Sorry, you have to see me all tangled up." She added.

Alice stared at her and then replied. "Is it alright? I won't turn down your offer."

"Yeah, no harm in letting you sleep here. Besides I can't let you return to your house at this time of the night."

With that Alice nodded and gets off her.

"Here I scooch over. Think of this as a sleepover." She moves a small distance and lets Alice in. Their bodies touched inside the futon.

"Thanks for worrying about me, Alice. You're a great friend." Rain then yawns as she is starting to get sleepy. "I'm about to fall asleep. Goodnight, Alice." She closes her eyes again and quickly fall back to sleeping.

Alice who is beside her gave her a smile and said. "Even though, I don't need to sleep...Goodnight, Rain." She said as she too closed her eyes.

Sleeping together under one bed or in this case a futon is not what Alice had expected. But still this outcome is better than nothing. To sleep together with your friend shows that Rain trust her and really does see her as a friend. She could never be more so happy at this situation. This night, she won't be needing that Butterfly Dream Pill as she'll be having a pleasant dream, knowing her friend is beside her as she sleeps.
