My Hero Association Chapter-1
Month 1: Week 1:
Getting Isekai'd
"Yo! Are you alright there, Kid?" The man in bulky, futuristic armor asked again, waving at Midoriya.
"Did you accept That Creature's deal or not?"
Midoriya was still a bit stunned, and slightly confused about who the man was. What did he mean by 'That Creature's deal?' But then it all came flooding back to him. That Mysterious Entity that appeared to him inside his mind! He must've been referring to that.
"No, I didn't accept it." Midoriya replied. "Who are you? And where are we?"
"Introductions can wait until all of you have been released, so we won't have to repeat ourselves." The stocky businessman responded, but only after giving a sigh of relief to Midoriya's answer.
"You say you didn't take the deal, huh? But I can sense a strange power growing deep within you. Care to explain?" Blast immediately asked.
Midoriya was caught off-guard by the man's question. Did this guy have a Quirk that allowed him to sense other Quirks? He wagered on what to answer, or more precisely, how he should answer. Given that he doesn't seem to know him, he probably wasn't in league with All-For-One. But Midoriya had never heard of any Hero or Villain named Blast in Japan, so perhaps he was one of the foreign heroes they requested assistance from. Still, that wouldn't explain his new location, or why he and his friends were trapped in those strange orbs. Midoriya ultimately decided to air on the side of caution and finally spoke.
"What you're probably sensing is my Quirk. It grants me several different types of abilities." The tall man in the cape and battle-suit seemed unconvinced and skeptical of his words. He stroked his chin and delivered a follow-up question.
"Riiight... 'Quirk' you say? And tell me, where did this 'Quirk' of yours come from?"
Now it was Midoriya's turn to be confused. Did he seriously not understand what Quirks are, or how they function? Even if they were foreigners, surely, they must have seen or read about them before. They made up 80% of the world's population!
"Well... It's something that manifests in just about everyone by the time they reach the age of 4 or 5, a unique power or mutation that is the culmination of either their parents' Quirks or something else entirely." Midoriya replied. "Do... Do you really not know?"
"Are you trying to play games? Because this isn't a laughing matter kid." The tall man's voice hardened some.
"What? No, I'm honestly telling the truth! If you release my friends, they'll tell you the same thing." Midoriya replied immediately.
The two older gentlemen whispered among themselves, deciding on what to do. The boy wasn't making a whole lot of sense, but he hadn't followed any of the patterns that others did when being touched by That Creature's power, so they decided to go along for now. Just as the two's discussion had concluded, the green-haired boy spoke again.
"You don't have to let them go all at once, but if I could offer some advice, I would suggest that the guy with the weird-looking elbows and the guy with the long yellow hair be let out first, if possible."
"Oh... and why would that be?" the businessman asked.
"Well sir, going off your body language, you visibly relaxed when I answered 'no' to the other guy's question, so I assume that accepting That Creature's deal would've been extremely bad. Although I trust most of my classmates to resist the temptation, those two are... Well, they're not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, so they might end up taking it by accident." Midoriya answered.
The other gentleman laughed at that. "Well, he sure is an observant kid, I'll give him that! Okay then, we'll go with your plan." Blast lifted his arms, and two of the barriers were broken, their contents dropping onto the ground. After some time, both the boys regained consciousness and celebrated that they finally made it out of that place. They noticed Midoriya. and rushed to his side, asking if he was the one who freed them. Midoriya simply pointed in the direction of the other two men.
"Well, now that you are reacquainted; Did either of you accept That Creature's deal?" The tall man asked. Both boys said no, and that they were just now pulled out before they were able to answer, causing another burst of laughter to emerge from the tall man.
"Well, it seems you know your friends pretty well. You guys should be thankful, he totally saved your skins just now."
"Do you two know what Quirks are?" asked the man in a business suit.
"Well duh! Everyone has them." Kaminari explained while generating lightning from one hand to another, and the other boy stuck out his elbow, shooting out sticky strands of tape-like material. The elderly man was shocked by this.
"Hmmm, it looks like you weren't lying about that either..." the taller man said.
The two gentlemen went aside and talked amongst themselves, while Midoriya and his group did the same. Kaminari and Sero asked where they were, and who the two strangers were. Midoriya didn't know for sure, but he also didn't want to jump to conclusions. So far, that guy seemed like the only one capable of releasing the rest of their friends from the spheres.
On the other side of the rooftop, Sitch and Blast deliberated on what their next steps should be. If what these kids were saying was true, then they either got mutated by being in proximity of the Cube for a long time, before coming into direct contact with it and being trapped, or there really was an entire civilization of superhumans out there somewhere in the world. Both seemed highly improbable to say the least.
Ultimately, the two decided on a plan of action and turned once more to face the teens. Blast lifted both his arms, portals opened up on the rest of the trapped teens, and they all fell to the ground. Certain individuals immediately caught Blast's attention, and so he created another portal separating them from the rest of the Class. Midoriya ran over to Bakugo. He didn't stir or move like the rest of his classmates, but he was still breathing, and after some time begrudgingly began to open his eyes. Midoriya was relieved to know he was alright, and began to check on Uraraka, Iida, Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, and all the others. After confirming that none of them were hurt, he turned back around to check on Tokoyami, Koda, Shoji, Ashido, Ojiro, and Hagakure. They were all transferred to the other end of the rooftop via portals. But before Midoriya could rush over to them and verify that were okay, the man he would come to know as Blast spoke.
"Well, it looks like you were wrong about this one kid. Your friends over there have obviously taken That Creature's deal. They've already begun monsterizing as a result..."
Blast began to walk towards them, cracking his knuckles menacingly.
Midoriya was suddenly hit by a massive wave of pain from his DangerSense. It was incredible. He had not felt anything this intense since his fight with Shigaraki, but compared to him, this guy was exponentially worse. It was like comparing a toothpick to an oak tree! Where did this bloodlust come from? The guy was so carefree a moment ago. How could he hide all of this? Then he processed what Blast had said. Was he planning to kill them all because he thought that they accepted the deal? If he didn't even know what Quirks were, then of course Mutant-Type Quirks would probably seem like abominations to him. He had to stop him!
"Wait! They were already like that before…. it's their Quirks as... well..." he struggled to talk as he pushed through the pain.
"Don't worry kid, you don't need to make excuses for them, I'll make it painless. It's better this way, trust me." the tall man replied, continuing to walk towards the still-recovering group of teens.
As he heard those words, Midoriya had already activated his Full-Cowling, and using the energy built-up within his legs with FaJin, he sprinted forwards in a flash of green light. He launched himself at Blast, charging 65% of One-For-All into his fist, combined with a full charge of FaJin.
"Pseudo 100% Detroit-SMASH!"
Blast saw out of the corner of his eye the boy moving towards him, reeling back his right fist. He was slower than him, as expected, but also much faster than he thought he would be. Seeing the desperation and the fear in his eyes, he decided to hear the boy out. He had stopped and waited for the boy to reach him and blocked the strike. The resulting explosion of air pressure didn't launch anyone off the roof, but was felt many kilometers away, making the others cover their ears and crouch down from the noise and wind pressure.
As Midoriya opened his eyes, he was shocked to see that the tall man had not only blocked his attack, but did so with just one finger. The shock of it all completely froze Midoriya. As his powers left his body, he got down on his knees and begged the stranger.
"Please, believe me, they didn't accept that deal! Quirks take on many forms, and they can sometimes change a person's appearance."
Hearing Midoriya's pleas, Kaminari, Sero, and the other students who recovered joined in, promising that what he said was true. Blast simply raised his hand and placed it on Midoriya's forehead. He began to enter the boy's mind and search his memories, to confirm whether or not they were telling the truth, but suddenly, he found himself hovering above an empty void. Nothing was in sight other than what appeared to be the remains of a dilapidated building, with several chairs arranged around a bonfire. Blast cautiously floated towards the chairs, where he began to hear faint voices whispering. As he touched down on the piece of rubble, strange tendrils of black-energy immediately sprang out trying to ensnare him. He didn't care to dodge, and let the black-energy wrap around him, still puzzled by the scenario. A voice rang out from one of the chairs.
"Ha! Got him! I thought he would be a lot tougher than that given what we just saw, but maybe it was just a fluke!" The BlackWhips started to tug on Blast's body. He floated along with the whips and was pulled in front of a group of seven individuals sitting in the chairs.
"How did you get in here?" the only lady in the group asked, somewhat threateningly.
"I don't even know what "here" is. Who are you people? Why are you living inside this kid's mind?"
Immediately he was countered by the one restraining him via the BlackWhips, a bulky man that was the largest of the group.
"We're the ones asking questions here, wise guy, and you better start answering them, PRONTO!" He made a show of tightening his restraints in a show of power, but Blast decided to stop playing games, and simply broke out of the BlackWhip with his brute strength.
"What the...?" The members of the group began to stand up, preparing for a fight, but were halted by the man in the center raising his hand. He had long snow-white hair and a plain white shirt, and appeared to be the leader of the group, giving a calm air of authority when he spoke.
"Easy now, we don't want to make enemies if we can avoid it, especially one so incredibly strong."
Another voice spoke up from another person who didn't stand. He had silver hair and a strange scar running across one of his eyes. "Yeah, you guys don't have DangerSense. This man is powerful, everything in my body is just screaming for me to get away, almost as bad as... That Creature."
The young man with snow-white hair continued. "Well stranger, you have our attention. What would you like to know?" The others in the group reluctantly began to sit back down, and Blast relaxed his muscles, which he noticed made the one with silver hair relax as well.
"Well, this is all very strange. What I was trying to do was probe this young man's memories so that I could get all the answers quickly and efficiently, but then I was intercepted by all of you. So, I'm guessing that you guys are some sort of defense-mechanism for his mind. And that's somehow related to this so-called Quirk he keeps mentioning... And the seven people here probably match the abilities that the boy has. Would I be correct in that assessment?" Blast asked.
"Yes, you would. We are the Vestiges, echoes of the previous-holders of this power. We live inside the boy's subconscious due to our bond with the Quirk. May I ask why you need access to the boy's memories?" another person noted, this one with black hair and wearing a high-collared jacket.
"Hmm. I just need to confirm if he is telling the truth or not, and memories don't lie. It's not every day that people have superhuman abilities or mutations that weren't monsters in our civilization."
The group was a bit confused by the man's last statement, but while speaking telepathically they decided that it would be better for Midoriya and the rest of his friends if they would comply with this man's wishes. Even if they could beat him out of there, it would only make him more suspicious of them. They all agreed, and let the man go where he needed. Several images flashed through Blast's mind of Midoriya's life, his obsession and training with a hero called AllMight, his entrance-exam, his time in the hero-course, and his fight with a powerful arch-villain called Tomura Shigaraki. All of this happened within about 20 seconds, and then he removed his hand from Midoriya's head.
"All right, I believe you." Blast said. Midoriya looked up, surprised by his sudden turn of heart. All that bloodlust simply evaporated away, lifting what seemed like a mountain of dread off of his shoulders, allowing him to stand up again and watch, as the man walked back over to his associate.
"Oh, and you didn't have to conceal the name of your power. It's One-For-All, right?"
Midoriya was caught off-guard by the man's words, but then rushed over to the rest of his class, relieved at having averted their execution. Meanwhile, Blast walked back over to Sitch and filled him in on the current situation and what he had glimpsed from Midoriya's memories.
"We may have a bigger situation here than I thought. These Kids are not from around here."
"Well, obviously. If there were an entire civilization of superpowered individuals, then surely the Hero-Association would have known about it, or at the very least some of them would've applied to be heroes at some point." Sitch replied.
"No, you're not listening. I'm saying that they're not from around here, as in, not even from our Universe. The visions I saw in the boy's memories, the size and scope of their society, it would be impossible for any of it to be concealed from the rest of our world. My best guess is, these Kids are from an Alternate-Universe." Blast said definitively.
On the other side of the rooftop, the rest of the teens were also discussing what had happened and where they were. Most of the Class looked to Midoriya as he was the first to wake-up, and should have at least some ideas of what's going on...
"I don't have any ideas of what's going on, I just woke up here like the rest of you. That guy let me out, and after some convincing we managed to convince him to free the rest of you." Midoriya said, pointing to the man in the white-and-red armor and shades.
"Speaking of which, why did you attack him all of a sudden Midoriya? If what you said is true, he saved us from whatever trapped us with that Cube." Sero asked.
Midoriya began to fidget and play with his hands, before answering.
"That guy…. He's bad news. I don't know if he is a hero or not, but one thing for sure is that he's dangerous. With DangerSense, I could feel his bloodlust and killing intent. He was going to kill you guys that he separated from the group based on your Mutant-Quirks. Whatever that thing was we were all exposed to, it must be seriously bad news to have to resort to such drastic measures for those that accept its deal." Midoriya fidgeted some more. A look of relief flushed over most of his classmates, relieved in their choice to not accept That Creature's offer.
Bakugo, however, responded to this news by being his usual cocky self.
"Ha! Let that poser try to kill me, I would have beaten him easily..."
"NO!" Bakugo was cut off by Midoriya, his eyes dead-serious.
"None of us could beat that guy. That attack I just hit him with, that was at 100% of my power, and he blocked it with just one finger!" This drew shocked gasps from all of his classmates.
"Are you sure that his Quirk isn't just a counter to brute force? Like nullification or absorption?" Kirishima asked. Surprisingly, it was Kaminari who spoke up this time.
"Nah, man, if he had or knew about Quirks, he wouldn't have needed me and Sero to show off ours to believe Midoriya into freeing you all."
"Plus, he likely wouldn't have tried to attack the others for having Mutant-Type Quirks, either." Shinsou added.
"That's right," Midoriya said in response "It just wouldn't make sense, which would mean he's just naturally that strong, or maybe something else entirely. Either way, I think he might be even stronger than AllMight in his Prime."
This revelation created an air of silence in the Class as a whole. It was Uraraka, who was always the optimist, who tried to make the best of the situation.
"Well, maybe that's not such a bad thing. If he really is that strong, we could try and convince him to help us back home! He could be a real asset to us! He could be the ace we need to win against All-For-One! That way... you... don't have... to leave again."
Her voice got quieter and quieter until the last part was barely audible. As Midoriya was about to comment again, a sudden cough got his and the group's attention. It seemed that the two strangers had finished talking about what they were going to do with them.
"Hello everyone, now that you are all awake, I think it is only fair that we introduce ourselves. My name is Sitch, and this is the Class-S Rank-1 Hero... Blast!"
He paused for gasps of shock or excited murmurs from the teens, but when none came, he continued onwards, noting the strange reaction, or lack-thereof.
"You are currently on top of the Hero-Association Headquarters in the newly rebuilt City-A, may I ask where you all are from?" the man named Sitch asked.
A boy with glasses stepped up in front of his classmates. "Good evening, sir, I am Tenya Iida, and This is Class-1A from UA-High, a professional hero-academy based in Japan."
Japan? Sitch sat in thought, and asked the first question that came into his head.
"And what city would that district be in?"
This drew a confused glance from the boy. "Um...sir, Japan isn't a district, it's a country located off the eastern-coast of the continent of Asia, sir. The city that we specifically came from was Mustafa."
This resulted in an even more confused look from Sitch as the boy spoke. He looked to Blast, and they both nodded their heads in agreement.
"Um, excuse me but we really do need to get back home as soon as possible. There's currently a crisis going on that I need to be a part of to stop. And... if you could help us with it, that would be very much appreciated." the boy with messy green hair spoke up. Blast rubbed the back of his head as he replied to the boy.
"Well, that could be a problem to solve, if my hunch about you all is correct. It would be better to talk about this inside the building. But before we go, I need all of you to make a promise, right now. None of you are to speak about that Dark-Cube, or any of your experiences with That Creature in the void to anyone other than myself or Sitch here. It's a classified and highly-sensitive operation that can't get into the wrong hands." The Cube that was currently denting the floor was suddenly swallowed up by a portal under it, sending it to a place that only Blast knew where. The whole Class nodded their heads in understanding, and Blast continued.
"In any case, you all have a lot of catching-up to do. We'll try to get you Kids home as quickly as possible..."
"Assuming it even IS possible..." Blast thought to himself. "... But for now, let's all get off this roof and head inside."
Two portals opened up above the students, himself, and Sitch, and after swallowing them whole, they found themselves on ground-level directly in front of the building they were just standing on, and were ushered inside by the two adults behind them.
They were quickly brought into a common-room that was completely ordinary for them. It had a couch, TV, computer, love seats, and more. There they sat and waited for further instructions as the other two left, giving them some alone time to process just what was happening to them. Kaminari and Sero fought over control of the computer, while the others lazed around on the sofa and chairs. Jiro attempted to use her phone to get into contact with her parents or UA, but realized that it was impossible. They had no connection to any service network. Others also attempted to use their phones, only to run into the same problem. No one had a service connection. They instructed Kaminari to see if he could reach anyone through social-media using the computer, only to see that none of the known sites seemed to even exist. They turned on the TV to see if any of the news channels were covering their disappearance, but not only did they not even recognize any of the news channels, but there was no mention of it anywhere. Midoriya reasoned that having 20 teens go missing would definitely be something the school would try to cover-up, especially in this time of panic and confusion, as it would no doubt put an even heavier burden on the heroes.
Sitch came into the room and asked for one of the students to join him in another room for some questioning. The Class was reluctant to follow the man's request, as splitting up in an unknown environment surrounded by unknown people would be foolish. Sitch assured them that this wasn't a trap, and that separating them is just a safety precaution, and would allow them to see if everyone's stories match-up without being influenced by anyone else. Midoriya decided to go first to put his class at ease. After all, he would have the best chance to break out if anything went wrong. Plus, they already knew about One-For-All, and given how they haven't attacked him yet, this led him to believe that they weren't with All-For-One. He was brought into a room lined with a bookshelf and a computer situated on a desk. It was parallel to the common-room they were just in; He was then gestured to sit on the opposite side of the desk with the computer.
"Your name is?" Sitch asked.
"My name is Izuku Midoriya."
"And do you have any form of identification on your person to confirm that?" Sitch followed. Midoriya sat for a moment before coming to a thought and digging through his pockets to fish out his Provisional Hero-License, and gave it to the man which drew a surprised look from the man. He took a moment to type down something on the computer and returned the card to Midoriya.
"So, you're a hero-in-training? From this place called Japan, am I correct?" Midoriya nodded in confirmation.
"And in this Japan, there are more people with these powers you called "Quirks" correct?"
Midoriya nodded again and added. "Not just in Japan either, sir, but all over the globe. Every country on every continent has people with Quirks. In fact-"
"Every continent, as in, more than one?" Midoriya slowly nodded his head. He was really confused now. Sure, maybe these people were isolationists who shunned Quirks of any kind and therefore wouldn't know much about them, but everyone should know the basic fact of geography, that there are seven continents on the planet. He began typing away on the computer again.
"And these Quirks manifest from birth?"
"Potentially, it depends on the type of Quirk. Mutant-Type Quirks can be seen at birth and become more profound with age, but others usually appear around 4-5 years old." again more typing on the computer was heard before the next question was asked.
"You mention that there are many different types of Quirks? Can you elaborate further on that subject, how many are there and what differentiates them?"
"There are all sorts of Quirks out there, and there are several different types and sub-categories, but the three most common ones are Emitter-Quirks, Transformation-Quirks, and Mutant-Quirks. My Quirk would be classified as an Emitter. It grants me several different abilities, but appearance-wise it doesn't change much. Transformation-Quirks allow the users to transform or alter something about themselves when activated, and Mutant-Quirks permanently change a person's body in some relation to their power." Sitch typed as the boy spoke listing all the interesting things he said.
"Fascinating, on to a different subject, the card you gave me said you were a hero in training? Are teens your age normally trained to become heroes?"
"Not necessarily no, kids can opt into the Hero-Course, similar to other professions, the Hero-Course trains students to be professional heroes."
"And why would there be a need for heroes, if nearly everyone has a Quirk to defend themselves?"
"Well, not every Quirk is all that strong or even suited for combat, and it's usually considered illegal to use your Quirk in public without some kind of license. Just because a person is born with a special power, that doesn't necessarily mean that they can be trusted to use it."
"Hm, good point. Well, those are all the questions I can think of asking for the moment, but before we dismiss, would you be willing to give us a blood-sample? We don't know how long your stay here will be, and it would be wise if we had some data to work with in case you need medical treatment."
As he talked, the desk started to shift and change until it released a drone type object with a stinger, which hovered near Midoriya. After Midoriya nodded his head in confirmation the drone pricked his skin and began drawing blood from his body.
"Thank you for your cooperation, once you return to the common-room, you may send in the next person." Midoriya understood and began to walk towards the door but turned before leaving.
"We really do need to get back to Japan as quickly as possible. If you haven't already heard, our home is currently in a state of emergency. Violent criminals have mostly overrun the place, and without me, there's a good chance the other heroes won't be able to stop whatever is coming next."
Sitch gave a concerned look and replied.
"We'll try to get you back as quickly as we can, though it may take some time to figure-out how."
With that said Midoriya walked out the door back to the common-room, the rest of his class was in, to a barrage of questions of what he was asked and more. Midoriya managed to comfort his class and convince them the questions were mostly ordinary and nothing threatening had happened. The only slightly suspicious thing was the request for a blood-sample from him, which he told them may be asked of them as well. He asked who wanted to go next, and it was surprisingly Jiro who volunteered, her reason being that she wanted the WIFI password to this place. Midoriya pointed in the direction of the door, and after she left, he turned back to his classmates in the common-room.
Much of the conversation was about the strange environment, and the people who inhabited it. As the discussion continued, more students would trade as their interviews ended. It was when Iida returned with a book in his hands that the conversation took on a different tone.
"What's that in your hands, Iida?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"It's one of the books I saw on the shelf in the room. I asked Sitch if I could borrow it. It's about the heroes here. The writing and comments are very strange, however. The book has several mentions of there being only one continent, and that heroes are organized into rankings similar to ours, but there are also four classes, starting from S, A, B, and C. It says that there are only around 700 heroes, which is staggeringly low, even for the worst country, let alone an entire continent. What's even stranger is that the book never describes any of the heroes' Quirks, but instead talks about their 'weapons' and unique skills. And perhaps most troubling of all, it states the number of 'exterminations' a hero has, and any notable 'monsters' that they've killed."
The room's mood had become dark and sour. Heroes that kill people. And being praised and accommodated for it, no less. What sort of upside-down world had they been teleported into? But for one of them, that news was the final nail in the coffin that connected all the dots. Kaminari started laughing deliriously, drawing strange looks from the rest of his classmates.
"That thing really did it! I was joking about it earlier, but it really did do what I think it did!" Kaminari said to himself. Ashido then blurted-out what everyone else was thinking.
"What?! What did you figure out that we're not getting? What the heck is going on?!"
Kaminari looked at her, then at the rest of the Class, who all had their attention on him. He looked everyone in the eyes before saying...
"It Isekai'd us!"
This drew confused looks from almost everyone in the Class. Less than two seconds after he said what he said, Kaminari was suddenly poked in the ear by Jiro.
"You IDIOT! This is serious! There's no time for your stupid jokes!" After recovering from the pain, Kaminari pressed on.
"But I'm BEING SERIOUS! Todoroki, back me up here! Doesn't this sound like the plot of an Isekai?"
Before Todoroki could respond with an answer, it was Yaoyorozu and Iida who almost simultaneously asked... "What is an Isekai?" Jiro was the one who answered.
"It's just one of the loser's Comics and Anime genres. It's a complete work of fiction!"
"I wouldn't dismiss him so casually if I were you," Todoroki countered, "He does bring up a valid point. Within that genre of fantasy, the main-character or characters are somehow transported to Another-World, where things are different from the world they came from in one way or another."
"Do you seriously believe this idiot?" Jiro protested.
"Yeah, it's kinda hard to believe that something like that's even possible. Ribbit." Tsu added.
"Yeah, but over 300 years ago, Quirks would've been considered something out of a comic-book, but now they're just a part of our daily lives." Sero pointed out.
"Tch." Jiro said nothing else. It would also explain why none of the traditional social media sites even existed, or were completely different from how they're supposed to be, and why the group's emails didn't exist at all. Todoroki spoke again.
"If we're seriously giving this theory some thought, it would also explain That Creature we all saw, since that too is a common trend in the Isekai genre. In all of the Isekai shows that I've watched, the main-character dies before their time, and they get offered a second-chance by some kind of supernatural-being, who has them reincarnated into Another-World. However, if we continue with this theory, then that would imply that we all died at some point before arriving here."
The room was deadly quiet as the Icy-Hot teen's last words left his mouth, mostly of shock and astonishment at the possibility of what happened to the group. Ashido was the first to speak out.
"NO! No, that can't be what happened... There's got to be something else, I don't even remember taking a fatal hit!" she shook her head in frustration.
"There's no way I would kick the bucket that easily! That would be so unmanly!" Kirishima added.
This began a wave of dismissal of the idea from the Class, as none remembered taking a fatal blow or even being physically harmed. The talks momentarily halted when Ojiro came back from his questioning, and escorted the last classmate to be questioned, Hagakure, to the designated area.
After a funny moment of surprise from Sitch not realizing the girl was even there, he offered to get her some clothes if she would give him her size in shirt and pants, as they continued inside the office. Ojiro came back to the room with his friends, which was silent again with everyone having serious faces. After being caught up to speed, his face darkened upon realizing that they all might have died, and inwardly cursed himself for his weakness.
"I don't think we died," Midoriya reasoned, "If we did, and if we all got reincarnated here like in the Isekai shows that Todoroki and Kaminari are describing, then we probably wouldn't look and feel exactly the same as we did before we arrived."
The Class brightened at this, giving some hope to their predicament.
"Is... Is Death the only way for that type of genre to begin? Maybe something else could have caused it." Koda shyly asked.
"I don't know. From the ones I've seen, that was the common-denominator." Todoroki answered, before turning back to Kaminari. "You?"
"There's actually a bunch of Isekai where death wasn't the cause. Another common way for them to start is that the main-character gets summoned to Another-World, usually by some powerful godlike entity, with some sacred-mission they need to accomplish. And the entity usually gives them a bunch of crazy overpowered skills and abilities to get the job done. Kinda like what That Creature had tried to do with each of us..."
The Class once again breathed a sigh of relief at the news. So, they didn't necessarily have to die for this to have occurred. And Kaminari was right, That Creature's offer sounded eerily similar to the summoning-method he described. But that still left the question of how and why this happened in the first place, and how they would be able to get home.
"Was there any show that had the main-character return home?" Shoji asked.
Kaminari shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno. Maybe for the show's finale or something, but I never got to watch them to their conclusion."
The mood grew cold again, as the Class digested the thought of there being no way back home. Stuck in this other world forever, all their families back home would assume that they were dead. Midoriya had an even bigger worry that without him, both Shigaraki and All-For-One could do anything they wanted without any resistance. He knew that the other heroes were strong, but only One-For-All could possibly defeat All-For-One. No other Quirk was strong enough. Then he thought back to Blast...
Perhaps nobody else in their world could stop him, but here, wherever here even is, it seemed that there were heroes much stronger than the ones in their world. Through his ponderings, he heard Yaoyorozu speak up and redirected the flow of the conversation again.
"That Creature wanted us to accept its deal, and at least for me, it said it wanted to destroy all the Quirks in our society to stop a dystopian future, which means it could've sent us back, and is most likely the reason why we're here in the first place." The Class all nodded, and spoke about having a similar experience with That Creature.
"Whatever it is, it must use that Cube to communicate. The second I touched it, I found myself in the Vestige-World getting confronted by it." Midoriya said. Suddenly it occurred to him that if he hadn't touched the Cube, none of this would have happened.
"That wouldn't explain why we're here along with you! And given that Aizawa, AllMight, and Endeavor aren't here either, that rules-out the possibility of us just being in close proximity." Bakugo countered. Ojiro stepped in next.
"Maybe if we can find out its motives, we can find out why it took all of us. What did it show you guys to try and convince you to accept its deal?"
That question made the room grow quiet and uncomfortable, nobody wanting to go first. They didn't want to think back on the intimate secrets and fears they were forced to confront by That Creature, but finally Iida went first, which would hopefully open up the door for others to talk as well.
While the Class was discussing the how's and why's of their current situation, they didn't know that they were being watched from another room via hidden security-cameras, and as Sitch walked into this room with a digital tablet in his hands, he saw Blast leaning back in a chair, watching the students through the monitor screen, and listening in on their conversation.
"Did you gain any new information?" Sitch asked.
"Nothing that we didn't already speculate about them. Right now, they're reaching similar conclusions, and trying to decide what to do next. How did the questioning go?" Blast replied.
"As expected, most of the things they said made no sense if we assume they're from our world. Multiple continents, Quirks, hero-academies, multiple hero-agencies, tens of thousands of professional heroes worldwide. And then there's this..." Sitch pushed a button on his digital tablet and showed it to Blast, the screen displaying two genetic-sequences.
"The one on the left is of a normal human being, and the one on the right is from one of them. They all have an extra-component in their genetic-code, which was explained to me as a 'Quirk-Factor'. This allows their Quirks to function without inhibiting the body or mind..."
A third genetic-sequence came up to join the other two. "And finally, this is the genetic-sequence of one of the monsters we captured. While containing similar traces of humanity, they're completely different from humans and these children. Which means they are telling the truth. That only leaves the question of what we should do with them."
The tablet-screen went black, and both men turned to the large monitor, observing the teens, who were still in the middle of their own conversation. Blast sat back and digested the information, trying to come up with some plan of action. After a couple of minutes, he spoke.
"You're probably thinking of making them Heroes for the Association I presume?" Sitch nodded.
"I don't have a problem with that, but I would like them to be monitored and trained. And not just by some no-names either. I want them watched by Class-S."
This drew some surprise from Sitch as he quickly responded.
"Class-S? But all evidence points to them being clear of suspicions. Didn't you also read that boy's memories? How could you still suspect them of being with That Creature?"
"I don't, It's clear to me now that they're not our enemies. I just want to make sure they don't end up dying before we can return them home..."
Blast spun around and faced Sitch, looking him directly in the eyes for what he said next.
"And we will do everything we can to return them home. Don't just exploit them for their abilities and make empty-promises to keep them around. We're going to make a genuine effort to get them back home, even if it means losing a few powerful assets. Agreed?"
Sitch was slightly taken aback by this, and his face turned red with embarrassment. "Did you read my mind just now?"
"I didn't need to. We've known each other for 20 years. We founded the Association together, and compromising your soul for the Greater-Good has always been your signature-move."
Sitch scratched the back of his neck. It was true. He hated it, but it was true.
Blast continued. "But if you read that boy's mind like I did, if you saw what I saw, then you'd understand why deceiving them like that, is simply out of the question..."
Blast thought to himself about all he had seen and learned from the green-haired boy's memories. That boy, Izuku Midoriya, was by far the saintliest person he had ever encountered, and then there were the memories he had of all his friends, his teachers, his mother, and the world he came from... And also, the villains that were threatening to destroy that world. He let out an exhausted sigh.
"They're good people, Sitch. And they have people counting on them back home. Right before they ended up here, they were in the middle of a massive conflict with an extremely powerful enemy, one that only Izuku Midoriya had the power to defeat. So, if we don't send them back in time, we'd be damning their entire world and everyone in it. Why should we expect them to protect OUR world at the cost of their own?"
Sitch digested what Blast was saying, his heart now flooding with guilt and self-disgust. But Blast wasn't done.
"And besides, these kids are already going to have a hard time accepting the way we do things around here..."
"What do you mean?" Sitch asked.
"From what I've seen in the boy's mind, Monsterization doesn't even exist in their world, only people with Quirks that have chosen to use their powers for evil."
Sitch was stunned. "A world without any Monsterization? It almost sounds like a paradise!"
"Not exactly, but it's definitely more ideal than our world. The point is you can't expect them to operate the exact same way we do. Those kids are used to capturing and arresting their enemies, not killing them outright."
Sitch stroked his chin while processing that information. "In other words, they may end up being disgusted by our methods, and unwilling to use lethal-force themselves."
That would certainly make things more complicated than they already were. But at the same time, perhaps they could still make it work. In recent years, there's been a small sub-faction within the Hero-Association that's been trying to capture and rehabilitate monsters, particularly those that had once been human. So far, their efforts have not yielded any results, and so most people view them as a joke, but perhaps these children, and their experiences of the world they came from, could change all that. Sitch knew it was wishful-thinking, but if there's any chance that they can cure monsters, even just a few of them...
Both Sitch and Blast had long since given-up on such things, as have most of humanity. Neither of them wanted to get their hopes up. After a long minute, Blast responded.
"If you want to recruit them for the Association, that's fine, as long as you know what to expect from them, and as long as we agree to send them home the first chance we get. I'm sure they'll be valuable additions while they're here, and they'll no doubt see this as an opportunity to get stronger."
"I take it you'll be leaving again soon?" Sitch asked.
"Yeah, afraid so," Blast replied. "While I'm Cube-hunting, I'll see if I can find any leads on where those kids came from, and how to get them back. I wish I could stay to help train them, but I gotta keep moving. That Creature must have realized that someone has been collecting its Cubes and slowly diminishing its influence, so it might've sent those kids here to distract me, and also weaken their homeworld's defenses at the same time."
There was a knock on the door of the room. No doubt it was the clothes for the Invisible-Girl. Just as Sitch was about to open the door, Blast was opening another HyperGate, getting ready to depart. Before he did, however, Sitch had one final question for his old friend.
"How exactly am I supposed to convince the Class-S Heroes, of all people, to take them on as students? Let alone at such short-notice?"
Blast simply flashed a smile. "You'll figure it out, you always do. You're the one who convinced me to take this whole Cube-hunting thing more seriously, remember? I used to only do this for fun."
With that, Blast left through the portal, and Sitch opened the door and took the clothes from the agent, dismissing them back to their station. He returned to the common-room with the teens, and knocked on the door to announce his presence before entering. He presented the clothes to the Invisible-Girl, Hagakure he believed her name was, and once she got herself situated, he began to address everyone within the room.
"Judging from the information you have all provided to me, we have come to the conclusion that you are all telling the truth about your origins and your abilities. However, getting you all home may prove to be difficult. As you all may have come to realize by my line of questioning, there is no place called Japan here, and our planet only contains one super-continent, which has 26 cities, each designated with a letter in our alphabet."
Noticing the grimacing faces he continued. "However, we will do everything in our power to return you to your original planet/dimension."
"And what do you plan on doing with us in the meantime?" The boy with spiky blonde-hair asked, Katsuki he believed his name was.
"Well Katsu-"
"Bakugo." the teen interrupted him, seemingly getting agitated by the use of his first name from Sitch.
"Yes, well, Bakugo... given that you all claim to be heroes-in-training, we considered making you all official heroes for the Association for the remainder of your stay. We could sure use your help as the rate of monster-attacks increases."
He saw excitement briefly flash through some of their faces, but one teen with glasses raised his hand. He signaled for the teen to proceed.
"Sir, would we be required to kill every monster, or is capture another suitable method of duty?" Iida asked.
"Capture and detainment are also possible ways to deal with a monster of Threat-Level Tiger or below, however trying to detain one of a higher Threat-Level would be very difficult to accomplish." Sitch replied, which seemed to spread a relieved expression from multiple of the students present.
Another student raised a hand, this one was the strange Mutant-Type with a crow-like head.
"These different Threat-Levels, could you elaborate on what they mean?" Tokoyami asked.
"Threat-Levels are how we measure threats to the general public; it allows us to accurately gauge a monster's strength and destructive-potential so that we can dispatch the correct hero or heroes of a given Class to neutralize it. In order from weakest to strongest, they are Threat-Level: Wolf, Threat-Level: Tiger, Threat-Level: Demon, Threat-Level: Dragon, and finally Threat-Level: God."
When no other questions were presented, he continued.
"We will not force your cooperation, and we understand you may need time to converse about the proposal. So, you do not have to answer now, we can have you escorted to guest bedrooms with built-in showers and utilities. We will also ask for your sizes in clothes so you can have a change of clothing. I would ask for all of you to meet back here tomorrow at 11:00 AM to give me your answer. Will that be alright?"
All of the teens nodded, and Sitch clicked a button on his sleeve that notified the staff to come in. 15 men and 5 women in suits came into the room with tablets in their hands. Handing each student one to give their many sizes and escorting each student to their rooms, each situated next to each other, similar to their dorms back at UA. After some time, they all got acquainted with their new living space, and a couple of hours later, fresh clothes were in front of their doors. After showering and throwing on their new clothes, the teens went to bed, though most of them couldn't sleep. They were overwhelmed by the day's events, and the big choice they had to make the next day.
The night went by quickly, and as 9: AM rolled around the corner, all of the teens had made it back into the common-room. Following some light conversation about the style of clothes given to them and some mentions of how, thankfully, the food in this world was roughly the same as back home, Iida had signaled the Class to quiet down. He opened with a summary of the situation they were currently in and his thoughts on the question at hand.
"I will not lie to you all, I'm very conflicted on this, for several reasons. First of all, the questionable nature of this Association that endorses heroes to kill other beings. Perhaps this may sound naïve to them, but killing should be the ultimate last-resort. Even for our worst villains, we should at least give them a chance to surrender..."
"...The second thing that concerns me is simply the danger. We don't know what we'll be up against here in this world, and without any healing Quirks, any injury we sustain would leave us vulnerable for extended periods of time, maybe even permanently disable us. Obviously, we can't afford that, especially with what's going on back home..."
"Which then brings me to the third concern that I have. Getting back home. If our time here is only temporary, or a way home is found, it would be best for us to not put ourselves at risk if we don't need to. I have other, more minor concerns, but I would like to turn the conversation over to the rest of you, in case you have any thoughts or concerns I haven't considered."
Midoriya raised his hand to speak up next. "I agree with a lot of Iida's assessments. Throwing ourselves into unknown danger seems unwise, and these so-called "monsters"... if they're even half as strong as that Blast guy..."
A visible shudder went through Midoriya's form. "I can't imagine what that kind of strength in the wrong hands could do."
"So, you're still looking down on us huh?" Bakugo cut in. "Just because you're the strongest right now, doesn't mean you're gonna stay that way for long! Remember, I'm still aiming to be the Number-One-Hero, and there ain't nothing I'm afraid of. You got that, Izuku?!"
Bakugo's eyes drifted over to Todoroki as well. "Same goes for you too, Half-And-Half! If the monsters in this world are even stronger than the villains that we're used to, then that just means we've got the perfect opportunity to grow stronger! Besides, didn't you guys hear what that geezer told us? The heroes are separated into classes, so only the stronger ones get called to fight the bigger threats. Plus, we'd all be studying under Class-S Heroes."
"I agree with Bakugo, however more concerning to me is how hospitable would the Association be if we decided to decline the offer. If they don't have the money to support us, or if they decide that we're just freeloaders and throw us out on the street. Those of us who can't pass off as humans could be in serious trouble if the reaction from Blast before is common. Those with Mutant-Type Quirks could be hunted down by their heroes and we would be forced to fight them. Not mentioning housing and other needs." Shoji pointed out, causing looks of concern to befall the Class.
"Well, couldn't Yaoyorozu just, y'know, duplicate money to help us hide-out and buy things we need? Ribbit." Asui replied. Yaoyorozu shook her hands in surprise while shaking her head.
"No, no, NO, even if we're in a different world, that's still illegal where we come from. Besides, I don't even know what the money here looks like, let alone its atomic configuration. They might not even have the same periodic-table as us!"
"Oh, oh, I know what if we… Got jobs? That way we could just camp out until we have enough money to buy an apartment or something." Hagakure said, waving her arms in the air rapidly.
"That would be impossible, we don't have any information in their systems. So, we'd either be paid very poorly, or need to take unethical jobs for decent pay." Tokoyami said. The group sat in silence. Balling her hands up into determined fists, Uraraka went next.
"I don't care if it might be dangerous! I still want to help people while we're here! I mean, come on, we risk our lives all the time, it's what we do! And sure, this might not be the same world we know, but so what?! If innocent lives are in danger, we should try to save them!"
"Uraraka's right, if we didn't help people here just because it's risky, we wouldn't be able to call ourselves heroes." Ojiro said in support.
"Yeah, and think about it," Kirishima said, "If we chicken-out and avoid danger now, what's stopping us from doing it again later on? It sets a bad precedent!"
After that, multiple other classmates began to raise their support for joining the Hero-Association and becoming full-fledged heroes. Eventually it was decided that they were going to join the Association. By the time the talks had ended, and the decision had been made, the time was rapidly approaching 11:00 AM. They heard another knock on the door before it opened, showing the same gray-haired man from before, Sitch.
"So have you all made a decision?" The boy with the green-hair stood up and said yes.
"Great! The Hero-Association thanks you all for your kind service. Before we go any further, however, I would like you all to follow me to the gymnasium. Before you all can become heroes, we need to analyze all of your capabilities so that we can accurately assign you to a hero-class."
The Class moved and got up excitedly as they followed the agents to the gym. Staying slightly behind, Sitch spoke into his cellphone and asked for there to be a Class-S summon later in the afternoon.
So far things appeared to be going smoothly. However, convincing the Class-S Heroes to take these kids on as apprentices would prove difficult. Many of them were loners, or had private concerns of their own, and they were all difficult to boss around. Even if he incentivized them, there was no guarantee any of them would accept, and even if they did, could he really trust them to watch over these kids? He sighed. One problem at a time, he guessed. First things first, he needed to evaluate just how capable these students and their Quirks were.
Before the physical was the written-test. This section held a lot more weight than people realized. Sitch remarked that about three months ago, someone had broken every single physical-test record in the Association's history, but did poorly on the written-test, and so was forced to start-out at the bottom of Class-C. He made a note to send word down to the rankings-team that in this case, the written-test should only be weighed about half as much as before. During recent times it seems now more than ever, the Association needed stronger heroes to counter monsters' rising appearances. So perhaps losing its weight entirely would be the best choice of action.
By the time the written portion had concluded, Sitch had given the teens back their hero-costumes from before, all of them having been cleaned and stitched back together to look brand new.
The physical-test was next; however, Sitch was somewhat unimpressed by half of the students. The first test was a 1500-meter-race, and it proved that a majority of the teens were mostly average when it came to running-speed, with a few impressive outliers, one being the obviously speed-focused Quirk from the boy with engines in his legs, and the green-haired boy Midoriya, who had attacked Blast so quickly that Sitch couldn't even see what happened. Still, there were others who surprised him with their ingenuity with their Quirks. The fire-and-ice user used his ice to create a slide, and fire as propulsion, similar to how Bakugo used his explosions to launch himself through the air at supersonic-speed.
The Top-5 finishes were Midoriya, Iida, Bakugo, Todoroki, and the bird-headed Tokoyami in that order. The second test was weightlifting. He wasn't surprised when many of the students were only Class-C and B in this regard. A lot of them were not bodybuilders, and their Quirks weren't all tailored for physical-labor besides a few of them, so most maxed-out at around 100 to 150 kilos, while a few individuals made it into the multiple-tons range. He was surprised when the girl named Uraraka scored second-place, but then he checked his notes, and saw that her Quirk was called Zero-Gravity. In the end the Top-5 were Midoriya, Uraraka, Shoji, Kirishima, and Tokoyami.
The remaining tests Sitch was unable to attend, due to being notified of the Class-S showing up for the meeting. Although he was slightly disappointed by some of the physical-test results so far, he supposed it was unfair to expect all 20 of them to be extreme powerhouses. Plus, they were still only teenagers, so they likely had much room to grow, which was why he needed to secure powerful mentors for them to train under. He left the teens for their remaining tests and walked towards the Class-S meeting. He hoped that everything would go smoothly here as well.
As he entered the room, he immediately saw the occupants were the same as the last time, barring Puri-Puri Prisoner, whom he intentionally excluded from the summons due to the inherent controversy of him. He greeted the Class-S, and before anyone could get antsy about why they were summoned on such short notice, he dove right in.
"Now, just to clarify, the reason I've gathered you all today, is actually completely unrelated to the late Madame Shibabawa's Final-Prophecy like before-"
"So, you're just wasting our time then?!" Tatsumaki shouted.
"Well, something else has come up. The exact details are classified, as they relate to an ongoing investigation being conducted, but a group of teens have appeared recently, that have manifested a variety of superhuman powers. We have recruited these teens to join the Association, but they require training to improve their abilities, so we were hoping that you all would take them under your wing and instruct them."
As he said this to the heroes present, the table began to project several holographic-images, each one showcasing the teens in question and giving brief descriptions of their powers and abilities.
"What!? You think I'm going to watch over some stupid, weak little kid? I've got better things I could be doing than playing baby-sitter!" Tatsumaki exclaimed.
"I'm with the little-lady on this one," Atomic-Samurai said. "I've already got three apprentices, so taking on another one would be too much to handle at once. And unless one of them is a swordsman, there's not much of anything I could teach 'em anyway."
Bang flashed a big smile and said "I would gladly take them all under my wing. It would be my pleasure to take on the "burden" so my fellow Class-S can roam around free."
Sitch raised a hand as he denied Bang's offer "No SilverFang, we couldn't ask that of you, and besides, only a few of them actually specialize in hand-to-hand combat, many of them are either range-fighters or focus on utility. Each of them has different strengths and weaknesses, so it would be better to have each of them under a hero with somewhat similar traits. On the table we have the teens, and their abilities listed, along with which hero we believe they would benefit from studying under. Rest assured that we will offer you all bonuses for accepting this task."
Bang nodded his head in response to Sitch's comment, and he along with the rest of the heroes turned to look at the screens below them. Tatsumaki still wasn't having any of it, until suddenly, she received a telepathic message from Blast.
"I realize this is a lot to ask of you, Tatsumaki, but please give them a chance. They're good kids, and it's very important that they all get stronger."
Tatsumaki did her best to keep her composure so that nobody in the room would notice. Fortunately, they all seemed preoccupied with studying the files on the various teens. She responded to Blast with a telepathic message of her own.
"But why?! Why can't a Class-A look after them? This is... It's just... I'm not a..."
"I wouldn't be asking this of you unless it were serious. And I trust you more than I do any Class-A out there. You can train one of them for a week, and if you feel the same way afterwards, then by all means, pass 'em off to someone else. Either way, you'll have been a huge help."
And with that, Blast was gone... Again. Tatsumaki spread her telepathic-reach as far as she possibly could, searching every inch of the planet, then extending her reach even farther into outer-space, past the Moon, and nearly reaching Mars, but she couldn't sense Blast's presence anywhere. "Where could he have gone?" She thought to herself. "Why is he never around?"
She'd been waiting for a chance to see Blast again. It had been over a year since she last saw or even heard from him. Blast finally came back into her life, and then he left just as quickly, but not before leaving her with a demeaning chore to take care of for him. And yet...
"If Blast says it's important..."
She breathed a deep sigh before resigning herself to actually looking over the teens in question. The one that was highlighted for her was a brown-haired girl who had the ability to levitate objects. Assuming she was another Esper, she reluctantly decided to take her on, just for Blast's sake, but after this, he would owe her.
"Fine, I'll accept this one. But only for a week." Tatsumaki said indifferently.
The rest of Class-S were completely shocked. They all thought she would be the last one to agree with the situation, not the first. But their shock continued further when Drive-Knight also voiced his approval of the deal.
"I too can agree to such terms. However, given the number of heroes in the room, and the number of teens presented to us, I assume that you expect some of us to take on more than one of them. In that case, I would like to take the electricity-wielder, along with the girl who can conjure inanimate-objects. Their abilities sound rather interesting, certainly worth studying, and if possible, reverse-engineering for new technological advancements."
Sitch was relieved that things were going this smoothly. Drive-Knight has taken on two of the teens with little to no coaxing, and if even Tatsumaki was willing to humor them, then perhaps he was worried over nothing.
Bang raised his hand and selected two names on his screen. "Well, if we can take two of them, then I would also like to express that chance. The young boy that you marked for me named Ojiro, I would gladly take him on, along with the boy named Midoriya as well." Sitch nodded and accepted Bangs' deal.
PigGod was the next in line to speak up.
"I guess I'll take this one... ugh... Sato. Not sure what I can teach him, but I'll think of something." he said, pointing to a picture of a tall, muscular guy with brown hair. At first, Sitch racked his brain with intrigue on why he chose that particular student, but then realized that on the document, it said that he liked to bake deserts, and his Quirk was fueled by sugar, meaning that PigGod could comfortably request sweets all for the sake of helping his student in his training. Shaking his head, Sitch reluctantly agreed to the obese hero's deal, as long as it's one more kid off the table.
"Just try not to go overboard." Sitch calmly said.
Another Class-S, SuperAlloy DarkShine, looked over the remaining teens, and was interested in the one highlighted for him. He had red-hair, and his power allowed him to turn his body as hard as rock. He was curious to see just how durable that power made him, and would be glad to instruct someone so young in building extra muscle to support such an ability.
"I'll accept this Kirishima boy. Sounds like he's got potential." Sitch agreed and looked to the rest of the Class-S Heroes. He asked the newest among them, Demon-Cyborg, what his thoughts were.
"I must refuse. Master Saitama and I do not need any more mouths to feed. And I have no interest in taking care of children." he said with finality.
Sitch sighed internally to himself, but this was expected.
"You won't have to feed them, and I am not asking them to stay with you either. They will still be housed here and be sent out to you or a location of your choosing."
"I still refuse." Genos said in reply.
"Even if I offer you and your Master a monetary-bonus of 1-Million Yen?"
Genos paused and thought about the offer. It would certainly clear-up his Master's financial concerns, but he couldn't agree to anything without consulting him first.
"I will need to contact my Master to see what he thinks. If he agrees to it, then I will accept this one." he said pointing to a blonde-headed teen with explosive-powers. Sitch continued, however.
"If you take on one more, I can sweeten the deal and have your Master promoted to Class-A."
Genos cocked an eyebrow, but didn't turn it down. He left the room and called Saitama on his flip-phone. After a few minutes, he returned and accepted the offer Sitch gave him. He looked down and read over the remaining teens, settling on the one with the red-and-white hair.
"You're sure going all-out with trying to get us to watch these kids. Is there something we should know?" Child-Emperor asked.
Sitch waved his hands "It's a long story, and like I said, some of the details are classified. Simply put though, these teens were caught-up in a freak-accident connected to a Top-Secret investigation we've been conducting, and it's important that we support these young heroes and fine-tune them into something more formidable."
"Maybe even avert the 'Earth is Doomed' Prophecy..." he silently hoped.
Sitch looked over to King. "I hope you can see the importance of training the next generation, King, and would agree to do this for the Association."
King simply nodded his head, his mind filling with questions about what he should do. He had no idea what he would do to train them. He had no idea which teen he should select, and couldn't just turn down Sitch's request, not without a believable excuse. If a kid started following him around and expecting him to be their sensei, then the kid would surely figure out that he was a total fraud! He wracked his brain, and ultimately just went with his gut, pressing his finger down on the table without even looking.
"I choose this one." he finally said.
Sitch was partially surprised about who King had chosen. The boy known as Hitoshi Shinsou didn't score very well on the physical, and his Quirk was only useful under the right conditions. He was going to ask him about it, but upon hearing the faint roar of the mighty King-Engine, he decided not to press him on the subject, and simply agreed to his choice, figuring he may have seen something in the purple-haired kid that he did not.
He turned his head towards MetalBat, who was totally uninterested in any of the conversation. Instead, he was on his phone, looking at something he couldn't see. "MetalBat, given your handful of next jobs for the Association, I'll assign you this student to make them easier. He has the power to communicate with animals, so it will make any future incidents with influencers' pets less tedious."
MetalBat looked up and gave Sitch a skeptical glare. "If you want Doctor Dolittle to tag-along during my hero-work, then fine, as long as it doesn't take away from my personal time."
Sitch made a mental note to tell the teen that. MetalBat always did have a short temper, which was another reason why he paired those two together. He was hoping that the more reserved demeanor of this Koda kid, and the hothead that was MetalBat, would balance each other out. He looked around the room again and this time turned his attention to TankTop-Master who was skimming through the remaining applicants, he seemed to take an interest in one individual and raised his head to meet his eyes.
"This kid here, it says his hero-costume is a TankTop. Would be criminal if I didn't give him a shot of joining the TankToppers."
Sitch nodded, and turned his eye towards FlashyFlash. As always it was impossible to read the ninja's expression, as he was perpetually quiet, calm, and rarely if ever showed his emotions.
"FlashyFlash I would suggest looking at the screen in front of you. We'll also supply you with the latest and greatest of hair-products if you take one of them under your wing."
That last statement got the hero's attention. He tried to feign ignorance, but he looked down at the screen and once he did, he immediately stopped pretending not to care. The screen below showed information about a stranger attempting to break into the Hero-Association HQ and being captured. The only information they were able to get out of the man was that he was there for FlashyFlash's head, and would not talk with anyone but him. This got Flash's undivided attention. No doubt this man was yet another would-be assassin sent to kill him, but from whom was yet to be known.
"I will evaluate his capabilities myself. If his potential is adequate, then I shall humor your request. However, if he lacks the fortitude necessary to survive my training methods, then I would suggest finding a Class-A Hero to teach him instead."
Sitch nodded slowly, wondering if he should allow a teenager to be around someone like FlashyFlash. It should be ok, the one he picked for him seemed to be very book-smart and have a good chip on his shoulder. He should be fine. He looked over next to ZombieMan, who stared back at the man.
"I'm curious, what are you going to offer me? I don't really need anything important."
"Well, true, but we do have a lead for you, about the whereabouts of a certain doctor that you may be interested in. And the teens we have in mind would greatly aid you in your search and expertise. We know you specialize in espionage and reconnaissance, so we assigned two of the teens that would best accommodate that." Sitch replied.
ZombieMan was somewhat surprised by the hint of the doctor they were referring to. He looked down at the screen to examine the two teens' files. He saw that one teen had a form of invisibility, and the other had a unique power that grew far stronger in a darker environment. They could be very useful indeed.
"Alright, you got yourself a deal." ZombieMan said with a smile.
Sitch then turned his eyes towards Atomic-Samurai, who had his arms crossed, his head up and his eyes closed. He must have sensed Sitch's eyes on him, because he spoke first.
"No deal, old man. I've already got three disciples that need my attention. There's nothing you can say that could change my mind. I even checked a lot of them. They sound interesting, but none of them even know how to use a sword. They'd only be wasting their time following me around."
While he had a point, The teen he had in mind was a tad unconventional, and his capabilities were the complete opposite of Atomic-Samurai's, but that was precisely the reason why Sitch wanted to pair them together. The boy's tapelike projections were strong and adhesive, but still quite vulnerable to blades. Hopefully he could learn to overcome his weakness by practicing under one of the greatest swordsmen in the world. On the subject of swordsmen, however...
"Are you sure? If you looked at the screen, you would have been shown a satellite-image of a remote island, and that island is peculiar, in that it only appears during the summertime at noon, when the sun is highest in the sky. It rises from under the sea, and sinks back down some time later. Energy-readings suggest that it's caused by some kind of device, or artifact, emanating a vast amount of solar-energy, and drawing more power from the sun itself..."
With that, Atomic-Samurai shot up and out of his chair. "Hey, are you suggesting what I think you are? Cuz that's not something to joke about." he had a deadly-serious expression on his face.
"I'm not saying that it's confirmed to be there, but it is a peculiar phenomenon that requires further investigation. I can get you, and anyone you wish to accompany you to the island. If you take the teen of course." Sitch said.
Atomic-Samurai started to walk away, but agreed to the deal on his way out. He left the meeting to prepare for the trip, and contact the Holy-Order of the Sword.
Sitch mentally let out a relieved breath. All of the hardheaded people were taken care of, which only left Child-Emperor, who was sitting there sucking on his lollipop as he watched the events play out.
"Let me guess, you want me to take the remaining three huh?" Child-Emperor said.
"No, actually just the two remaining females, we have some plans for the lone male in the group. It will save us some hardships later on if we fill SweetMask in on what's going on and ease the public into some of the teens' appearances if they are revealed." This got the remaining hero's attention.
"Wait, are you suggesting that these powers they manifested have also altered their appearance?" Child-Emperor asked.
"A few of them, yes. Most of them can still pass-off as being 'normal', but others have strange changes to their body. We assume that their bodies naturally developed this way to better accustom themselves to their powers."
As Sitch was talking the table below them was creating a large holographic image of one of the kids, he seemed normal enough, other than his head, which was replaced by a bird's. There was a second boy next to him that seemed normal, other than the fact that he had several arms that were webbed together. The third image was strangely just floating boots and gloves.
"These are the most abnormal of the bunch, and the third hologram is not a glitch, that girl really is invisible. She apparently has no ability to control it, and it seems to be her natural state."
"And here I thought I was going to be the weirdest one in the Association forever. And let me guess, those two are mine." ZombieMan pointed to the bird-faced teen and the invisible-girl. Sitch nodded in confirmation. "Yes, you would be correct. Given that you specialize in espionage and detective-work, we thought that it would give the least amount of potential exposure to the public. The last one here was selected by you TankTop-Master, and as you can see, he has multiple arms, but that's not all. He has the ability to spawn even more from his body, and morph them to include things such as extra eyes, mouths, and ears."
"That would be pretty hard to explain to people who see them in action. What do you suggest we do about that?" the TankTop-Master asked.
"We plan on issuing them specialized suits that will allow them to use their abilities without hindering them, but make them appear more like cybernetics than mutations. With that, I have nothing else to report. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask them now. If not, we expect you to meet them here tomorrow morning. By then, we will have additional information on their abilities prepared, along with their official ranking and class, to give you a more-precise gauge of their current-talents."
None of Class-S had anything else to say and began filling out of the room, off to who-knows-where. Sitch's form visibly relaxed as he sat down in his chair with a thud. Now that the meeting was complete, it was time to check on how the teens were doing. He wagered that by this time, they should be doing their selective-training based on their individual powers and abilities. He brought up a screen with the data from the physical-tests, and the results were what he expected. A good majority of them were put into Class-C and B, but since some of the kids didn't rely on their physical-strength to fight, the best option was to give them new tests based on the power of their Quirks themselves, which could boost some of them much higher than what these results would indicate.
The Class was wiped out from the day's activities. The mental challenge of the opening written-test, combined with the physical-test, reminded them of a harder version of the Quirk-assessment test they did at the beginning of school. Then the real challenge came shortly afterwards, when they took everyone aside individually to test out their Quirks specifically. It shocked them how they had managed to design new tests to accommodate them so quickly.
Midoriya had to go through rigorous weightlifting inside a Gravity-Chamber, to accurately gauge his super-strength while using his Full-Cowling. His BlackWhip was tested for its accuracy, range, and tensile-strength, SmokeScreen was tested for its thickness and the time it took to dissipate, and FaJin was tested to gauge the increase in strength and speed, while DangerSense was tested by a number different of factors such as range, reaction-speed, and the different kinds of threats it could detect.
Bakugo was tested for explosive-damage and how many tons of TNT his standard-explosions are worth. Todoroki was tested for the temperature of his fire and ice, the distance he could fire them, and for how long he could shoot them out before getting tired. And many more examples from the rest of the Class. Some had expressed concern, especially Iida, when Kirishima explained his tests, which were essentially just him being shot at and blown-up by progressively-stronger weapons until they finally caused his Hardening to crack, thus giving them an estimation of where his durability-threshold was. But Kirishima expressed that he was fine, if not just a little singed.
On a lighter note, the Class got a good laugh out of what they did to Kaminari. They had him hooked-up to a generator to test how much energy he could absorb and discharge at a time. Yaoyorozu was the most tired out of everyone, and could barely explain what they had her do before going to bed. Apparently, they had her create multiple large objects at a rapid pace, to find out the amount of mass/energy ratio needed for her Quirk to function, as well as the speed in which she can create various items. Koda was taken outside of the facility to see how far his Anivoice went, and apparently, he was also taken deeper into the facility and faced-off against what he described as mutated animals. He could understand them enough but if he attempted to exert control over them, the only thing that would happen is that they would shake their head as if in pain, or become rabid and try to attack him through the glass.
It caused some discussion about why the Association had them inside the facility if they were so dangerous, and not in some separate building. Soon the conversation steered away from the test, and to the results thereof. Sero made a point that since this world didn't have Quirks, they would essentially be SuperHeroes in their eyes, and because of that, they would probably all be put into a high class. Bakugo stated that he would definitely be Class-S, and that others would probably be Class-A or Class-B Heroes, just like how they would be in their world. But that was for tomorrow's events apparently, as Sitch had come to tell them the news, and the situations they would be in to operate as heroes. They would essentially be work-study students again, training under an official Class-S Hero. They would also have their ranks delivered to them in the morning in the common-room. The rest of their afternoon and evening was just spent consulting with one another about everything that had transpired before everyone called it a day and went to sleep.
Morning came quickly, and the teens quickly gathered into the common-room, eager to learn their scores, classes, and rankings. The room grew quiet as Sitch entered the common-room, and was accompanied by another member of the Association; this one wore a very similar attire to Sitch, but he had a more angular face with a stubble beard. They approached the forward center of the room and the worker started speaking.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank you all for agreeing to join the Hero-Association, given your unique situations. We have made customary accounts for all of you, and have deposited an initial sum of money that should help you all buy some new clothes, and any other materials that you might require." He braked in his speech as the students whooped and cheered.
"Any heroic duties you accomplish will be compensated monetarily and deposited into these accounts, and these will be the cards you can use to access that money at any given time if the store has the capability. They each have your name on them and will be passed out along with your new ID-cards that display your hero-class and rank within that class. We are also going to hand out the data-plan for your cellular devices. The money will be coming from the Association as you work as heroes."
The bearded worker stepped back and Sitch took his place, holding an envelope in his hands.
He opened the envelope, which contained several cards listing the hero-names, classes, and ranks of each new member of the Association.
Midoriya: Class-S Rank-18
Todoroki: Class-S Rank-19
Bakugo: Class-A Rank-16
Tokoyami: Class-A Rank-19
Iida: Class-B Rank-21
Kirishima: Class-B Rank-22
Kaminari: Class-B Rank-24
Shoji: Class-B Rank-42
Sato: Class-B Rank-76
Asui: Class-C Rank-7
Uraraka: Class-C Rank-11
Yaoyorozu: Class-C Rank-18
Jiro: Class-C Rank-25
Ojiro: Class-C Rank-35
Sero: Class-C Rank-65
Shinsou: Class-C Rank-99
Ashido: Class-C Rank-105
Aoyama: Class-C Rank-120
Koda: Class-C Rank-200
Hagakure: Class-C Rank-330
Yaoyorozu took the cards; Sitch began to speak again.
"Some of you may have noticed that your hero-names have been changed. We have brought them more in line with our standards and cultural-sensibilities. We also would like to ask those with excessive Mutant-traits to stay seated while the others report to the gym to be picked up by your Professional-Hero for the day."
As the students filed out of the common-room towards the gym, more agents began to come into the common-room with the Mutant teens, taking measurements and asking several questions about their extra body parts, how fabric reacts to it, and how much can be covered up before losing functionality. After around 10 minutes the questions and measurements were done, and they went along to join their friends, who were still waiting for the Class-S Heroes in the gymnasium. The Class was in the middle of discussing everything that had just happened; their class, ranks, and the new hero-names that some of them were given.
"What happened Bakugo?! I thought FOR SURE you were going to be in Class-S!" Kirishima said.
"Yeah… guess you're not as strong as you think you are." Kaminari added-in teasingly.
"You should have seen him when Midoriya and Todoroki's ranks were announced! I swear, the fact that he didn't completely flip-out was nothing short of a miracle. He's really come a long way." Kirishima mentioned.
"Shut Up, you idiots! Aren't you guys mostly Class-C anyways? Pathetic! Since my ranking isn't Class-S, that just means they're as incompetent as the rest of you. They can shove this rank up their asses, because that's what it's worth.'' Bakugo lashed out as he looked back towards his card. The group was momentarily drawn to silence.
"Well, he hasn't improved that much apparently." Ashido said.
"Shut your mouth, Pinky! You're only Class-C like the rest of them, too!" Bakugo shouted.
"Ah, ah, ah, that's not my hero-name anymore, now it's "Alien-Queen"! It's the exact same name that I originally came up with before Midnight suggested I try something else. What are the odds?" she said with a smile. Another group of students were talking about names as well.
"Wait WHAT? My new hero-name is Green-Menace?! That makes me sound more like a bad guy than a Hero!" Midoriya said with bug-eyed disbelief.
Iida nodded his head, "Yes, it seems this Hero-Association has no problem with putting more intimidating words into their hero-names..."
"Their marketing-team must be a clone-army of Bakugos!" Kaminari joked, causing the entire Class to burst-out laughing for a solid minute.
"Although," Iida countered, "It could also be because they just didn't understand what your original hero-name meant."
"That's a shame, I really liked that name, too…" Uraraka said.
Midoriya blushed at Uraraka's comment. The fact that she liked it was the whole reason he made it his hero-name in the first place. He decided that the first chance he got, he was going to ask Sitch if he could tweak his new one a bit to be less threatening and more Heroic.
"I had no doubts you would have made Class-S, Midoriya. You do have AllMight's Quirk after all. Ribbit." Asui said.
"Yeah, but I'm surprised that so many of you were put in C, the lowest class. The heroes here must be really strong as well. But they don't have Quirks? How could that be right? Maybe they evolved differently from us so that they can survive in this environment? But why would they still evolve similarly to humans…" Midoriya began to mutter aloud again as his friends looked on with smiles on their faces, happy that remains of the old Midoriya still exist in him. Meanwhile two other students, Ojiro and Hagakure, were chatting more in the background.
"You seem down more than usual." Ojiro said.
"What? Me? I'm not down, I'm fine. How could you tell even if I was, anyway?" Hagakure replied.
"Because I know you, you're always so cheery and waving your sleeves around to signal your emotions. When they called your class and rank, your shoulders and posture slumped down and you haven't spoken since. I can only guess that you scoring so low in comparison to everyone else has you feeling down." Ojiro said.
Hagakure sighed. "Coming in dead-last in the rankings like this... It's... it's just more confirmation of how weak I am. Honestly, I was lucky that I even got into UA."
Ojiro put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't beat yourself up too much, okay? I've been feeling the same way forever. Hey, how about we both compete to see who can climb the ranks faster!"
While Ojiro tried to cheer her up, they walked past another group of students discussing more about their name-changes.
"I didn't even really have a hero-name before, so they chose to call me FrigidFire. Makes sense given my powers. Plus, it's alliterative." Shoto said.
"My hero-name was changed from Creati to Creation-Queen. Honestly, I kinda prefer this new one." Yaoyorozu said.
"Same here," said Jiro, "They named me Stereo-Queen! I can't believe I didn't think of that! What about you, Koda?" Jiro asked.
Surprised by her pointing to him, Koda quietly replied.
"Well...they decided to change my hero-name too, it's now Forest-Lord."
"Hmmm. That sounds like a cool name, actually." Shoji said behind them.
"I agree, it suits you and your powers well." Tokoyami said.
Koda just nodded while shying away from the conversation, not used to having all attention being on him, while the group continued to speak.
"Just what I'd expect from you Todoroki, you were placed in Class-S, I'm surprised that a lot of us were put into the Class-C. Are the heroes just that strong here? Given the test we did I'm sure I would have done better than most." Yaoyorozu said.
"It's likely that this Association thinks highly of physical-ability, and those with more utility-based abilities were penalized for their physical performance." Todoroki explained.
"I agree with Todoroki. If I hadn't developed DarkShadow's Dark-Abyss to enhance my body, it's unlikely that I would have been put in Class-A." Tokoyami added.
"What do the different Classes mean, anyway? Why are they so important?" Sero asked.
"They created the class-system to better deploy heroes to certain threats. Class-C Heroes are to handle threats of Wolf and below, Class-B are for Tiger-level threats, Class-A for stronger Tiger-level threats, and Class-S for Demon and Dragon-level threats. This means that it's unlikely for us to be sent out against the most dangerous opponents." Yaoyorozu explained.
The group discussed more about this Threat-Level system in relation to the Hero-Class system. Another group was getting restless about meeting these other-world heroes.
"Hey Sero, if we follow the standard Isekai procedures, then it's likely that the pro-hero we train under is gonna be a smoking-hot babe." Kaminari whispered. This got the tape-boy's attention and anticipation going.
"Whoa, for real?! Maybe getting stranded here ain't so bad after all!"
"Shut up! They would probably stick us with some Class-A nobody!" Bakugo stated harshly.
As he said those words the gymnasium door opened up and Shinsou and Kaminari were both desperately trying to see if they could see a girl about to walk through the door, only to be confronted with a giant wall of muscle squeezing his way through the door. He was an incredibly tanned and oiled behemoth of a man that wore only a speedo, which garnered some flustered glances from the girls of the Class, and awe from Kirishima from how built the man was. The next one to enter was someone who was the complete opposite of the first to enter, an older gentleman with his arms behind his back, and a bushy white mustache. He was muscular as well, but nowhere near as much as the hulking man he stood next to.
The next man to enter also struggled to get through the gym doors, and while the first was due to his sheer size and musculature, this one was solely due to his weight and round belly. He had fancy hair and multiple chins, but the greatest thing to stick out to them was his size. He was a very fat person, and in his hands, he held what appeared to be cookies he was eating out of a bag.
He took his place next to the older gentleman, offering him a cookie to which he refused. The next person in was also a surprise. He looked like just a child with a backpack on and brown hair which held a device in his hands that he was constantly tapping away at. Not even bothering to look at the teens as he walked in and quickly went by the fat man. The next hero to enter the gym appeared more machine than man. He had a singular red eye and an intimidating appearance, with his body being fully exposed shrouded in a black metallic armor. His eye visibly scanned over all of the teens before he went over and stood next to the child. The next one to enter was what appeared to be a teenager like them, but his arms appeared to be made of a shiny-black metal, with blond hair and black eyes with glowing-yellow irises. However, instead of walking towards the rest of the group, he walked to the center between the students and heroes, and called out two names.
"Bakugo, Todoroki, come forward now."
"Hey, Demon-Cyborg you're supposed to wait for Sitch to give the ok before leaving." Child-Emperor said patronizingly.
"My Master has an important mission for today, and I will not dawdle around longer than I must."
Child-Emperor just let out a sigh before turning his attention back to his device. As Genos turned back around the two teens were in front of him as requested. He pointed to the door and ordered them to follow him out and began to leave. They were hesitant to leave at first but in the doorway, they saw Sitch nod his head at them that it was ok, and they quickly followed Demon-Cyborg out of the gymnasium. After the whole incident, more people had filed into the room across from the rest of the teens. There were three people huddled close together with various blades, and one of them was missing an arm. Another was an extremely pale-skinned man with jet-black hair, red-eyes, and a green trenchcoat. There was another man with long blonde hair, and another muscular man with short blond hair in a tank top. The last one to enter the room other than Sitch was a small girl with green-hair who, like the blond teen before her, didn't stand with the rest of her peers. She was somehow levitating herself in midair, and upon entering the room she rudely called out a name.
"Uraraka! Raise your hand, we're leaving. If Demon-Cyborg doesn't have to sit through the rest of this, then neither should I." The girl's voice made it clear she was annoyed, and it was even more clear that she had very little patience for bureaucracy and formalities. Uraraka hesitantly raised her hand, and then found herself surrounded by a strange green aura, and to her surprise, was hurled through the air towards the girl in the center, who was already turning away and leaving the gymnasium with her new student in tow.
Sitch sighed to himself, but expected nothing less from the two individuals in question. Class-S was always an unruly bunch of people. he ran his hands through his hair and began to speak.
"I thank you all for being here today. These are the students I told you about..."
He then turned around and spoke to the teens. "And these will be your new teachers for the time being. These are the Class-S Heroes, the best of the best the Hero-Association have to offer. Well, most of them anyways." he said, looking over at Atomic-Samurai's pupils here in his place.
"We tried to pair the best teachers for each of your abilities, to help you all grow from their tutelage. Without further preparation, I'll introduce them and the students who will be training under them. After that you will be free to leave and explore with your teacher. We will offer you all transportation to and from your teacher's city if they are located away from City-A. The first hero would be SuperAlloy DarkShine. Please step forward, your student will be Kirishima."
Both the teacher and the student walked forward and greeted each other.
"Damn! You've got to be the most BUILT dude I've ever seen! Makes sense why they would have me under you. I can't wait to get started!" The youth's excitable nature was infectious as DarkShine smiled and replied.
"That's a great spirit to have. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do!"
"Yeah, my Hardening Quirk was second-to-none back home..." Kirishima raised his hand and hardened it as a brief demonstration. "It makes my body tougher-than-steel. And not just on the outside, either! I can harden-up my bones, my muscles, even my vital-organs! And I can take it even further than that if I get serious."
"Awesome! There's a gym I like to train in right here in the Association-Headquarters. Let's go there first and test it out." with that, both of them left out and began walking out of the gym towards their destination.
Sitch began again. "The next hero, Class-S Rank-3, SilverFang, and your students, Ojiro and Midoriya."
The two teens and their teacher met in the center of the gym and greeted each other Midoriya with a formal handshake but Ojiro performed a bow which caught the Class-S Hero's attention.
"Oh, so have you heard of my dojo, young one?" He returned the gesture in kind.
"No, but I can tell by the way you dress that you are at least somewhat familiar with martial-arts, which would explain why they chose you to teach me."
"Oh, wow cool, what style are you a practitioner of?" Midoriya asked with his growing curiosity.
"I am the grandmaster of the fighting-style known as the Fist of Flowing-Water Crushing-Rock." the old man said happily. The name didn't ring any bells in his head, so Midoriya looked to Ojiro for any insight into the fighting-style, but he shook his head as well. The looks of confusion on their faces were a grim reminder to Bang of how his dojo lost its blister in the present day, but he smiled, nonetheless.
"What fighting styles do you two practice? Given your Gi, I assume you have been formally trained in some arts." the boy with the tail nodded.
"Yes, I trained to be a black belt in Karate, Tae-Kwon-Do, and Judo. With some knowledge in Tai-Shing." the boy with the tail said.
"Hmm, interesting. I have never heard of those arts before. I would be glad for us to share points and forms in the coming days. And you, young man?" he said, turning his head to Midoriya.
"Oh, well, my fighting-style is mostly self-taught, I just try to copy the different moves and techniques that I see others use, and adapt them to my powers." he said, rubbing the back of his head bashfully.
"That will make you an excellent student. I shall take you to my dojo. I presume there is transportation waiting outside?" Bang asked looking at Sitch, who nodded his head and radioed ahead that Bang and his students were ready. With that Midoriya and Ojiro both said goodbye to everyone before making their way out.
His system of calling the heroes and students in question continued. Iida was next. His Class-S Hero was the long-haired blonde with a pure-white cape, a man Sitch referred to as FlashyFlash. Iida tried to offer a greeting, but the blonde man said nothing as he slowly walked around the boy, his eyes analyzing his form. After completing a full rotation around his new student, he calmly said to follow him out of the gym, which Iida did after giving a wary glance back to his fellow classmates.
The next pair was Ashido and Jiro. Their mentor was the hero Child-Emperor, and they were shocked to learn that he was indeed a child, younger than any of them. They were all curious how this boy had made it into Class-S, let alone Rank-5, but he assured them that he makes do with his intellect and technology. In fact, he said that he would like them to come with him to his lab to test some inventions of his that should supplement their Quirks nicely. After hearing that, Ashido was ecstatic, and Jiro was optimistic of the child's offer. They left the gym shortly after. The next hero was not singular, but a group.
"Atomic-Samurai's disciples, would you please advance forward. The young hero under the Atomic-Samurai's watch will be Hanta Sero."
The group of three stepped up to the center of the gym. Sero was a bit intimidated by all three of them and the weapons they were carrying. To quell his anxiety, he tried breaking the ice with a joke.
"Well, looks like I'm a fellow disciple now, I hope you don't mind me sticking around." Nothing came from the trio but weird looks, and Sero tried to explain while holding his left arm out to shake the blond man in the lead hand.
"Get it? Because my Quirk uses tape... hehe."
The group was a bit taken back by his statement, but the leader shook his hand, nonetheless. "My name is Iairon, this is BushiDrill, and this is Geisha-Itachi. We are all in the top 4 of the Class-A and are here representing our master Atomic-Samurai. He was too busy with the Holy-Order of the Sword to come here so he sent us to retrieve you."
"Did you say that your ability revolves around tape?" BushiDrill questioned, to which Sero nodded, causing all of them, except Iairon, to facepalm themselves while Iairon spoke to Sitch.
"I thought you said that you assigned the students based on the similarity to the hero in question?"
"We attempted to yes, but none of them are compatible with the sword, so instead we decided to work the other way around. Because swords are actually his weakness, we thought having him spend time around the best swordsmen in the world could teach him how to adapt and overcome that vulnerability." Sitch reasoned.
Iairon nodded, and saw the logic of his argument. It's unlikely that Atomic-Samurai would care for the student, but whatever information he was given in exchange, it was valuable enough to call upon the Holy-Order of the Sword right away. Geisha-Itachi spoke next.
"So, what's your Class and Rank, kid?"
Sero began to look down at his shoes, and with utmost embarrassment... "It's Class-C Rank-65."
BushiDrill and Geisha-Itachi seemed disappointed, but Iairon just smiled.
"Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Three years ago, I was Class-C as well. I'm more interested in where you're gonna be than where you are right now."
The three began to walk away gesturing for Sero to follow, he turned around to say goodbye. Kaminari gave him a thumbs-up on the way out.
After that situation resolved itself, rollcall continued. Next was the metal-man or robot that was called Drive-Knight. He was to look after Yaoyorozu and Kaminari. Despite his intimidating appearance and voice, he tried to sound friendly, and simply left with the two students in tow. Sato was next and his teacher just looked too big to be someone strong and his name matched his size, PigGod. He was friendly, but he must have an appetite as the first place he said they were going was to the kitchen. The next student was Koda, and his teacher didn't even look more than a year older than him. The two of them left the gym in a hurry, as apparently the hero's little-sister needed to be picked up from school. The next up was Toru and Tokoyami, whose hero was the tall, pale man in a green trenchcoat. Despite his ghoulish pigmentation, he seemed like a normal person, and he offered to take them out somewhere to eat first before they started their hero-work.
There was only one hero left, and the final four kids thought they were all going to train under him, but as Sitch spoke, they were surprised.
"Last but not least, TankTop-Master and Shoji, please step forward."
This caused Shinsou to raise his hand. "Wait, is that it? What about the three of us?"
"He's right, ribbit. Were we not picked by anyone?" Asui said.
"That can't be right, no one could overlook my shining sparkling brilliance." Aoyama said while sparkling and spinning with his cape. Sitch turned to address them.
"Settle down now, your heroes are either indisposed at the moment or, as in the case of one of you, have a special situation to consider."
Meanwhile in the center of the gym, TankTop-Master and Shoji were sizing each other up. The man stood a whole foot taller than Shoji, who was used to being the tallest one in the room. There was a similar comparison in bulkiness, although what had caught the large hero's attention the most was the teen's multitude of webbed appendages. Taking notice of what the large hero was staring at he decided to open up about it.
"I realize someone like me would be seen as out-of-the-ordinary here. I hope it won't cause a problem in our cooperation." He finished holding out a hand for the large hero to shake. He looked at his hand curiously, as the appendages seemingly sprouted out from two little nubs.
He ultimately shook the boy's hand and said, "As long as you treasure the TankTop like the rest of the Toppers. It shouldn't be a problem. I'll clear it up with the guys once we get back there."
Shoji was a bit confused by his statement, but was happy that his Mutant-Type Quirk wouldn't get him in trouble with the hero in question, and from what he said he too had some apprentices that he would meet as well.
"We should get a move on. While the TankToppers you won't have to worry about, I can't say the same for the public in general, but as long as you're with me, you shouldn't have to have too much to worry about."
"Thank you. I'll try to learn as much as I can under your watch."
With that, both the student and teacher exited the gym leaving only three students remaining with somewhat disappointed looks on their faces.
"As for the rest of you, if you would all come over here. You will be given a driver to take you all to the destination that your hero set out for you to arrive." The teens all steadily huddled around the switch and the agent from before gilded into the area.
"To make a long story short, due to personal-circumstances, your mentors couldn't make it over here, so instead we'll be taking you to them."
He looked over to Asui. "Your mentor is a Class-S Hero called WatchDogMan. He is the sole-protector of City-Q."
"And as for you, Aoyama, your hero is Class-A Rank-1: SweetMask. He's about to finish-up a scheduled interview, and while he may technically be in Class-A, his abilities are actually on-par with a Class-S."
As he spoke, Aoyama beamed with joy and sparkles. Sitch then turned to Shinsou.
"And finally, for you Shinsou, your hero is the legendary, and quite possibly strongest hero in the entire Association, the Class-S Hero King! He messaged us that he had an important issue that he nearly forgot about. So, he said for you to meet him at his apartment."
Shinsou was conflicted about the news. On one hand, he was going to be training directly under this world's AllMight essentially, and he was excited to meet him. But on the other hand, He was convinced that King would only see him as a weakling with nothing to contribute.
They went off with the bearded worker into their car.
The first stop for the group was Aoyama. He was handed a piece of paper that the bearded worker said would allow him to see SweetMask. They stopped in front of a giant studio, which had large bodyguards standing in front of the doorway. He attempted to get in but was soon blocked off. After being asked about his purpose for being there, he showed the guards the paper he was given, and they let him into the studio. He was guided by a receptionist towards a waiting area that was next to the hero's room. Suddenly another door opened, and a man with royal-blue hair and expensive-looking clothes came out, and moved towards the hero's room. Assuming it to be him, Aoyama tried to get the hero's attention, but was promptly ignored as the hero went into his room and closed the door behind himself. After around 20 minutes, the door opened again. The hero came out and walked towards the teen. He moved with an unrivaled confidence and grace, and his clothing was perfect. He gestured for the young-man to stand up, and he slowly paced around him, studying his form and hero-suit. At first, Aoyama thought he'd be as stunned as he was by his perfect hero-costume, but the words that left the hero's mouth were nothing but scolding.
"What are you wearing? It looks awful! If that's supposed to be your hero-suit, then it's highly impractical." the hero's face seemed to grimace as he looked at the teen. When the teen didn't say anything, he continued to speak.
"You look like someone that is begging for attention, but deserves the opposite," he sighed. "Regardless, that can be fixed later. What I'm more curious about, is what is so special about you and your friends that the Hero-Association would go through such lengths to have the Class-S Heroes babysit you all?"
Recovering from the hero's harsh words regarding his outfit, Aoyama responded.
"Well, me and my friends are unique, we all possess certain superhuman abilities that we call Quirks," He made a show of using his Navel-Laser as a demonstration. "This is mine. I can fire a laser-beam from my navel."
SweetMask rubbed his chin in thought. "They probably hope to cultivate their powers, but for what? And why the Class-S Heroes of all people? If anything, they should have all come under me! I could show them what a True-Hero is, not those disgraceful degenerates!"
He sighed to himself and addressed the teen in front of him. "That's very interesting. I assume they already assigned your class and rank, though I haven't had the time to look over the statistics they sent me."
"I'm Class-C Rank-120."
"I see. Under my tutelage, you shall be a star, and everyone in your class will gaze upon you with jealousy. But first I have some other matters to attend to throughout the day and you shall be my assistant." Aoyama nodded his head and followed behind SweetMask as they left the studio.
The next stop in the car was for Asui. The frog-girl was standing outside in the middle of a street corner. She was told that an advisor for her teacher would come and introduce herself, and her to WatchDogMan. She waited for 5 minutes, then was greeted by a brunette lady in a similar outfit to all the Hero-Association agents. She had a youthful face, bright eyes and a cheerful demeanor.
"Hi, you must be the new hero, Froppy, from the Hero-Association! My name is Jessica, and I'm the City-Q Branch-Committee leader. Nice to meet you." she said, the two of them shaking hands.
"It's nice to meet you as well. Ribbit."
"I'm sure you're curious about where WatchDogMan is, and why I asked that we meet here."
Asui nodded.
"Well, given what the Association has said about you being new to everything, I wanted to explain to you a few things before we meet him." The two began walking as she continued.
"This is City-Q, one of, if not the safest city in the whole world, and that is all because of him. The great WatchDogMan is the sole hero and has taken care of all monsters that have sprouted-up over the years." her attitude and tone of voice as she spoke reminded Asui of a tour-guide.
"However, he is a man of few words and also is usually as still as a statue, unless there is danger present." This caught Asui's attention.
"Wait, you're saying that he doesn't move unless a monster appears? Ribbit?"
"Well, not quite. He does move around occasionally for his walks, and that's part of the reason we couldn't come to the Association to meet you there, we already used up the number of walks he takes during the day. While we don't know why he does things this way, we assume that it's because of his love and care for City-Q. He is the sole protector of it after all, so if he's not here when danger strikes, then the results could be disastrous."
"That sounds like a lot of pressure to put on just one person. Ribbit."
"Normally It would be, for almost any other hero, but not for him. Other heroes don't operate here because it's poor grounds for advancement, so most heroes that are above Class-C tend to avoid this place, as their spotlight would no doubt be overshadowed by WatchDogMan himself. Speaking of our great hero, there he is." She said, as she stuck out her hand. Asui followed the hand to its destination to see a man in an all-white dog costume, sitting atop a stone pedestal.
"It's said that the reason he chose to make this his hero-post, near the most popular train station in and out of City-Q, was to get a smell of everyone who enters and leaves the city. That way he can keep tabs on everyone and know if they're in danger by his senses of smell and hearing alone."
"Are you saying that he has such a good sense of smell, that he can tell an individual's position no matter where they are in the city?!" Asui said with shock, to which the committee leader just shrugged her shoulders.
"No one knows for sure, but it's a popular fan-theory, as he's able to always be there when someone is in trouble inside the city, and he can often tell that a monster has appeared, before the sirens even begin to go off. He truly is an amazing person."
Asui looked at the man in costume in a new light. Maybe she will be able to learn something after all. They both began to approach the podium that he stood on. Jessica held her hand out for Asui to stop as she continued.
"Hey, WatchDogMan. I brought you the student that the Association assigned to you."
WatchDogMan turned his head ever-so-slightly to view Asui. Then there was a gust of wind, and Asui was surprised to see that the hero was no longer on the podium, but in front of her face sitting down like a dog with his hands in front of him on the ground.
"Hi, my name is Asui, but you can call me Tsu." she held out her hand, but the hero did nothing but stare at it and sniffed it. Jessica came up behind her whispering in her ear before she spoke again.
"As the name implies, WatchDogMan acts like a vigilant guard-dog for the entire city, and his mannerisms on-duty reflect as such. He's not always guaranteed to reply, but he is a very good listener."
"Well, how am I supposed to train under him if he doesn't talk?"
"For that, I have no idea! But you should watch him carefully if you can, and see if you can learn a few things."
Asui was about to ask what she meant by 'whether she could', when suddenly another large gust of wind blew by, throwing her off-balance for a second. It came from the same direction as WatchDogMan's pedestal, and she turned to see that he wasn't there anymore.
"There he goes again, off to the rescue." Jessica pulled out tablet and motioned for Asui to come look. It presumably showed an upscale view of the city, and on it was a yellow dot and a red dot.
"This yellow dot represents us, and this red dot represents WatchDogMan." Asui was stunned that the red dot was already 15-miles away. She signaled for her to brace herself as the red dot came back almost instantly, and there he was, back on the podium again.
Asui mentally sighed to herself, wondering why she had to get the weirdest one.
The last stop was for Shinsou, he was surprised to find that King stayed at a regular old apartment, and it wasn't even a fancy one at that. While it did have at least a view of the bustling city below, that was all it had. He was given a document to show the receptionist his authorization to be there and enter the apartment, but was shocked to find that there wasn't even security at the front gate, either. They all made this King guy sound like AllMight. The Strongest Man in the World. And yet he lived in just a regular apartment-complex.
He probably should ask when he gets back. Shinsou approached the desk and said he was there to see King. After some initial reluctance to believe the teen, he handed her the paper he received, and her tune instantly changed. She told him that King was out running an errand of some kind, and that he'd be back in about an hour at most. After hearing this, Shinsou decided to just wait in the lobby until he returns. Sitting down in one of the chairs, Shinsou pulled out his phone, which had been modified by the Association to access this world's internet, and began looking-up and researching just who this King person was. Fortunately, there were plenty of images, and even a whole website that was all about him.
The man was tall, had blonde hair, an incredibly stern face, cold-blue eyes, and a distinct three scratch-marks down his left-eye. He didn't appear to wear any hero-costume besides common street-clothes. According to several sources he found, this was because King actually had no interest at all in fame or glory, and was instead an extreme recluse who tried to avoid the spotlight.
Shinsou's pondering lead him to checking an internet-video titled King's Greatest-Victories. He opened it up, and the first minute showed footage of a menacing villain who was all purple, with two antennae on his head. But the most stunning detail was the giant text that read:
Threat-Level: Dragon. This creature could shoot energy beams from his eyes and explosive spheres of energy from his hands, powerful enough to casually level a city, but King effortlessly defeated him without taking any damage at all.
The next footage was of a giant humanoid creature with a white skeletal face. Its text read:
Threat-Level: Dragon. A 775-foot-tall giant, killed by King with a single strike.
A third piece of footage showcased a gigantic piglike monster apparently called Pluton, Lord of the UnderWorld, also Threat-Level: Dragon. Again, King destroyed it with just one attack.
Switching over to an official Hero-Association website that records and chronicles all the various heroes of this world, Shinsou went to check out King's profile page and stats, to try and learn more about what his abilities are. According to the Hero-Association, King boasts the highest physical-strength and battle-power out of all the Class-S Heroes, and yet his true capabilities remain a closely-guarded secret. Nobody's ever witnessed his fighting-style and survived. The text read:
Beware the King-Engine, for it is the sign of imminent-death, the sound of King preparing for battle. Monsters below Threat-Level Dragon are left stricken in fear by the mere sound of it alone.
Shinsou was getting incredibly excited about meeting this man. After reading all of this, he thought about all the things this man could possibly teach him. If these people truly didn't have Quirks, then it's possible for him to learn from King, and maybe grow a lot stronger. Maybe he could really help Class-1A with their problems, and not just be a burden to everyone.
Shinsou thought back to the physical-test and Quirk-tests they all did just yesterday...
(Just Yesterday...)
With the written and physical-tests complete, the Association quickly developed new tests specifically tailored to measure and evaluate the Quirks that each of the teens possessed... Every Quirk that is, except for Shinsou's.
"Excuse me, Shinsou, was it?" Another man in a business-suit approached him. He had round silver glasses, and his brown hair was neatly combed, giving him a very intelligent and no-nonsense look to him. He was accompanied by a shorter, younger man who appeared to be his subordinate, or intern of some kind. The man with glasses had a digital-tablet opened up, ready to take notes.
"Yes, that's right," Shinsou replied. "And you are?"
"My name is Jinzuren, I work directly under Sitch. And this is my assistant, Nord." I just wanted to clarify something... What exactly is your power? We couldn't see it being used during the physical."
"That's because..." Shinsou looked to the side, embarrassed, "My Quirk is called Brainwashing. Instead of enhancing any of my physical abilities, it lets me control the physical actions of others."
Jinzuren and his colleague's eyes both widen upon hearing this.
"Cool! So, it's like telepathy?" The assistant Nord asked him. Shinsou clutched at his binding-scarf, now even more uncomfortable and embarrassed.
"Not exactly," he answered, "I can't read a person's mind or alter their memories, really. It's more like I have the power to turn-off their brains, and make them do what I want..."
Shinsou now stared directly at Nord. "... Provided the activation-requirements are met."
"What are the activation-require..." Just as the words came out of his mouth, Nord's face suddenly went blank, his eyes foggy, as if he were caught in a trance of some kind.
"Now, do jumping-jacks until I say 'stop'." Shinsou commanded, and immediately, Nord began doing jumping-jacks, with that blank expression still on his face.
Jinzuren stepped back startled by this, and Shinsou went on to explain.
"There are three steps taken to activate my Quirk. First, I need to focus my attention on a person, or a couple of persons, and make the conscious decision that I intend to Brainwash them. Then I speak to them, and if I can get them to respond, it essentially flips a switch in their brains, turning them into mindless-drones that obey my commands."
Jinzuren stared at Nord and back at Shinsou. "That's quite a..." He put his hand over his mouth, stopping himself. Shinsou had seen this happen many times throughout his life.
"Don't worry, I'm doing this to him as a demonstration, since you asked. I would never use it for evil."
Jinzuren lowered his hand. "S-Sorry about that."
"It's fine, I've gotten used to it."
Shinsou turned his attention back to Nord, who was still doing jumping-jacks.
"Stop!" Shinsou commanded, and Nord obeyed. "And now, Snap Out Of It!"
On cue, Nord's expression changed from a blank, mindless-drone, to one of confusion and worry.
"Wh... What just happened?"
"You were Brainwashed and made to do jumping-jacks for a few seconds." Jinzuren explained. Then turned back to Shinsou. "That's quite a useful ability, even with the activation-requirement."
"So I've been told. Although it has a couple of limitations I've been working to overcome. For example, right now I'm capable of Brainwashing up to three people at once without issue, but the more people I try to do it to simultaneously, the more splintered my concentration might get. Also, due to the nature of how it works, when a subject is Brainwashed, I can't make them act as if they aren't, or do things that require a much higher level of cognition. Lastly, the subject needs to be within earshot."
Jinzuren took notes on his tablet as he listened, then asked about the scarf and mask Shinsou had.
"These are Tech-Support Items made to help me enhance my Quirk's effectiveness, and assist me in combat situations where I can't rely on it. This scarf is a set of Binding-Cloths made of carbon-fiber and shape-memory alloys. I use it to restrain opponents from a distance and as a sort of grappling-line. I still haven't fully mastered it yet, but my mentor back home uses it to great effect. This mask is a voice-modulator called Persona-Chords. It lets me disguise my voice to mimic those of anyone I've heard. It also amplifies my voice so I can be heard from farther away. You see, one of the biggest problems I face is that once a person knows how my Quirk functions, they can just keep quiet and refuse to talk back to me, then it's basically useless. Persona-Chords lets me get around that by tricking people into thinking they're responding to someone else."
"Dang! That's really clever!" Nord complemented.
"Has anyone ever been able to break free from your Brainwashing?" Jinzuren asked.
"So far only one person's pulled that off. Usually, they only snap out of it if they've been hit really hard in the head, but it is possible to break free with sheer willpower alone."
"Who was that one guy that broke free?"
"The guy repping it out in the Gravity-Chamber over there."
Shinsou pointed his finger to the side, and the two Association agents turned to see who it was. Inside the Gravity-Chamber, Midoriya had just gone past 120-Times-Gravity, and was repping two gargantuan dumbbells, each already weighing 600,000 tons without the gravity-increase. Another agent was watching, jaw-dropped. Shinsou, Jinzuren, and Nord all walked over to get a closer look.
"It's Incredible!" the other agent told them. "He just now reached 125-Times-Gravity! And he's still going! If he keeps this up, he might actually reach DarkShine's record!"
"Amazing!" Jinzuren said in response.
"That's not even the crazy part though!" The agent went on. "The crazy part is, right now, he's still only using 65% of his power! Apparently if he goes any higher, he starts to injure himself."
"And even that's only the tip of the iceberg." Shinsou chimed in.
All eyes turned to him, eager to hear what he had to say next.
"15 months ago, Midoriya couldn't throw a single punch without breaking every bone in his arm, and he considered himself the weakest of his classmates. But now, he's casually stronger than all the rest of us combined. Even if we all ganged up on him while he's injured, starving and sleep-deprived, we wouldn't stand a chance, he'd plow right through us. Not only does he have seven Quirks for the price of one, but they've all been supercharged and continue to grow stronger. And if all that's not enough to convince you that he belongs in Class-S, he was handpicked to be the successor of our world's Number-One-Hero. In fact, I'm calling it right now; In less than a year, Izuku Midoriya will become even stronger than Blast."
The three Association employees were dumbfounded by Shinsou's vote of confidence.
"I'm not sure you realize just how powerful Blast is." Jinzuren said. "Except for maybe King and Tatsumaki, Blast is the Only Hero in the entire Association who could singlehandedly defeat a God-Level Threat.
"All the more reason why Midoriya will surpass him. There's a God-Level Threat waiting for us back home, and he's convinced that he has to fight it alone..."
Shinsou finally turned his eyes away from Midoriya training in the Gravity-Chamber, and looked the three agents in the eyes. "And that's exactly why I need to get stronger too, along with the rest of us. So that he doesn't have to fight it alone."
(Back to the Present...)
Shinsou sat in the lounging area of King's apartment-building, pondering all of this. If he was going to be studying under King, The Strongest Man in the World, then he knew he had to make every second count. Everyone else was going to be hard at work getting stronger, and while he may not be an actual member of Class-1A, more than anything he wanted to be able to stand among them.
Steeling his resolve, Shinsou patiently waited for his new mentor to arrive.
Some Author's Notes:
First thing I want to clarify, is that for the sake of this story, I'll be taking a few liberties when it comes to the timeline and world-history of OnePunchMan. For example, instead of being accidentally inspired by Saitama and only being around for 3-Years, The Hero-Association was co-founded by Blast and Sitch, and has instead been around for 20-Years, as was mentioned earlier in this chapter. As funny as it might be for Saitama to be the unintentional inspiration for the whole thing, I just find it too absurd that an institution as massive and important as the Hero-Association would only be a mere 3-Years old. I know some Anime love to abuse cinematic-time, but still.
Also, there may be a few larger gaps in time in-between major events, to make room for Class-1A's training. For example, Garou won't attack Hero-HQ until a few weeks after Saitama meets Fubuki.
Here's a basic rundown of my OPM-Timeline to let you know exactly when this is happening.
· 4 Months and 1 Week Ago: Saitama One-Punches Vaccine-Man and Marugori.
· 4 Months Ago: Saitama Meets Genos and Destroys the House of Evolution.
· 3 Months and 1 Week Ago: Saitama Meets Sonic & HammerHead.
· 3 Months Ago: Saitama & Genos Join the Hero-Association & Spar in the Gorge.
· 2 Months and 3 Weeks Ago: Saitama Beats Sonic Again, Sonic Goes to Jail.
· 2 Months and 1 Week Ago: Saitama Destroys the Meteor and Saves City-Z.
· 1 Month and 3 Weeks Ago: The Deep-Sea King Attacks, Saitama Beats It.
· 1 Month and 2 Weeks Ago: Saitama gets Promoted to Class-B
· 1 Month Ago: Boros Invades and Destroys City-A, Saitama Defeats Boros.
· 2 Weeks Ago: City-A's ruins are rebuilt into a Fortress-HQ for the Hero-Association.
· 1 Week Ago: Saitama Meets King, Genos Defeats G4.
Notice that the Fortune-Teller Madame Shibabawa's Earth-Doom Prophecy was foretold just one day before Boros attacked, which happened 1 Month Ago. That means they have roughly 5 Months before the Earth-Doom Prophecy's Deadline...
