"Alright, use your hind legs and jump!" Dox explained with joy in his voice as he watches Midnight, croutched down in the grassy field of the Canterlot park, jump up into the air. Her wings start flapping wildly and uncoordinated while she flys up into the air from her jump. One wing flaps up and the other flaps down. Occasionally flapping together to keep her in the air for a moment more, but not enough to keep her up in the air forever. With a squeak of fright, the little bat pony ends up pluminting back down to the grassy ground like a rock in a pond.

"UUHHH!" Midnight grunts in anger as she stands back up. Her face covered in dirt that she quickly tries to wipe away, witch ultimately just causing it to smer across her face and onto her hoof. "I can't do it!" Midnight yells in defeat, smacking the ground in anger. "I wish dad was here to help," She grumbals, looking down at the ground as tears form in her eyes. "Mom could've tought me better,"

Dox sighs and nods in agreement before saying, "You'll probably right." Midnight looks up at Dox with a little shock in her eyes. She had clearly not expected her older brother to respond like that. "I'm technically barley older then you," Dox explains. "I learned how to fly about five years ago at around your age. Dad would probably teach you the science and magic behind it while Mom could teach you the mechanics," Dox looks up at the dark blue sky slowly turning blue. Tears forming in his eyes as he searches the sky for somthing. Midnight searching his eyes for what he's trying to find.

The wind gently blowing the clouds above them while ruffeling up his hair. Silence falling between the two as the most resent avents of their lives had unfolded. Nether wanting to believe it, but they would have to.

"I can tell you a story that might help cheer you up," Dox looks down at Midnight with a big smile. Trying to hid his emotion and confusion behind a smile.

"Oh! Yes please!" Midnight says as Dox sits down in the grass. Midnight walks over and sits down in his lap. His arms wrapping around her body before pulling her closer. Her head resting just under his chin.

"I call it, Icarus." Dox says with Midnight looking up at him, snuggeled tightly into his chest with sparkles in her eyes that remind Dox of Acid.

"Once there were two brothers sitting right here in this very park,"

"Right here?!" Midnight asks, pointing at the ground.

"Yep," Dox chuckles, booping Midnight on the nose. She recorls and scrunchs up her nose before rubbing it in confution while looking up at Dox.

"The smart brother was very intelegent and builds wonderful creations so crazy they seem like magic to others. He could create just about anything you could think of,"

"Anything?" Midnight asks.

"Anything," Dox confirms with a nod. "The other brother was creative. He would use words to convey entier worlds from inside his very mind. Worlds that you and me could barely think up of. Worlds beyond pur imagination. Or he could make you cry with one simple scene. The two were sitting on the hill in this park when the smart brother said,

"I have somthing you might like." The smart one then dug into his bag and pulled out

metail wings. They were the most beautiful golden wings you coulde have ever imagined, but not quite as beautiful as the creative brother's real wings that he sadly could not use to fly."

"Oh…" Midnight sighs saddly.

"But the smart brother had created the metail wings so his brother could fly again."

"Ya!" Midnight smiles, cheering up. Springing up a bit and rising her hooves up ove there head in excitement, nearly taking out Dox's jaw if he hadn't moved. Dox chuckles, waiting for Midnight to settle down before continuing.

"The creative brother was very thankful for the smart brother. He took the wings from his brother and put them on. There was only one rule the smart brother told the creative one.

"Don't fly to high or els the wing will fail and you will spiral out of crontrol." But the creative brother was to busy being happy over his new wings that the words of warrning went over his head.

"I'll be fine," The other brother said as he takes flight for the first time in his life. He was over joyed that his hooves didn't land back down onto the ground. He flew around in loops and dives in exitment before an idea stricks him.

He tries to fly towrds the clouds high above his head. With determination in his eyes he

speeds up towards the white fluffy beds above him. His brother yelled at him, kept warrning him, but it was too late. The brother had flown two high, his wings fail and he was sent spiraling towards the ground as he tried to right himself."

"No!" Midnight yells, covering her mouth with her hooves as she keeps paying attention out of fear.

"He was about to hit the ground when his brother cought him using his magic horn. He gently placed him back down and scolded him for almost killing himself." Midnight sighs and relaxes agaisnt Dox's chest.

"So," Midnight asks, looking up at Dox. "What's the point of the story,"

"When it's your time to shine, don't head stright up. For you might fall back down hard." Dox explains. "And it's a true story,"

"Really?" Midnight asks, pulling away to look at him.

"Yep, guss who it happened to,"

"I don't know," Midnight shrugs, wanting the answer right away.

"Dad and uncle Film,"

"Really!?" She yells with a big smile. "Oh! That makes sence," Midnight says, scratching her chin. She then smiles before wrapping her arms around Dox's body and hugs him tight.

"What's this for?" Dox asks, gently hugging her back.

"For being the best older brother and substitut dad ever," Midnight responds. Dox's eyes start to water as a big smile forms across his face. He gently pulls her closer to him while resting his head on top of hers.

"Thanks for being a great little sis,"

"No problome," Midnight responds.

"Now," Dox says, gently pushing her away. "Let's see you try and fly again,"

"Do I have to?" She asks, her ears flopping against her head.

"You'll never get any better of you don't try," Dox responds, urging her to stand up. Midnight relcutantly stands up. Dox watches patiently as Midnight get's into the flight stance. Her legs spread wide out to keep her stable. Her wings spread wide out above her body ready to flap down. Her eyes closed as she foucases on the area around her.

Dox watches as Midnight's body sways a bit in the wind. Her muscels tightening and relaxing as her breathing slows down. Her wings ralxing as a smile creeps across Dox's face. Midnight flaps her wings, jumping into the air as the rush of air pushes the wind down into the ground.

Dox's smile turns into a big grin as Midnight hovers just a foot in the air. She opens her eyes slowly before smiling as she looks down at the ground below her.

"I did it!" Midnight says, flinging her arms in the air in excitement.

"Yes you did!" Dox says as Midnight wobbles flies over to him before giving his head a big head.
