Truth be told, vash doesn't have many worldly possessions. Over the years, he's only held on to the things he values.
Mostly guns.
One of these things also happens to be a massive cross
Taking a seat in the bullhead, he rested it against the wall.
Over the last 36 hours vash has had a return to form, tailoring a red coat as his last one turned to dust, he cut his hair, returning it to the spiked mess of old, Streaked with black.
Turning his attention to the right, he spotted ruby, his vigilante in crime she was sitting next to a tall blonde, with big knockers.
"Noo bad vash, I can't go after my students." He reprimanded himself.
Defeated he hung his head in shame
"At least, i get to work with a total hottie,"
He smiles to himself. At least he can console himself with that fact.
"Excuse me, mr.vash?" Looking to the right, he sees ruby."What are you doing here? I hope you're not mad at me for getting you in trouble." She said in a sad tone
"It was no trouble, actually I was fortunate, the headmaster offered me a job," He said smiling.
"Truth be told, I was also starting to get real light in my wallet, so this couldn't have come at a better time." He said sheepishly.
"Oh, that's good, then." She replied with a smile
"Who's this hottie, sis? You didn't tell me you have a thing for tall blonds." The blond woman behind her said
"I'm yang, ruby's sister, mister." She held out her hand
"Hi, im vash," he grabbed her hand.
Without warning, she clamped down with all her might
"AH YEIIIIIIIIIII!" he screamed in pain from the sensation of his bones almost being crushed.
"And my sister is off limits, perv!"
She screamed
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Yelled vash
"YANG, STOP!"
"My point is made. Let's go ruby."
Taking the smaller girl's hand, they moved away to the back of the bullhead, leaving vash to suffer.
"Oh mama, why are all the cute girls always so mean to me?" T-T vash said
But that wasn't all. Due to his night of drinking, he was air sick
It wasn't until he was disoriented by the pain that the sickness started kicking in
This was going to be a long ride
When the bullhead landed, all the students disembarked, leaving vash to crawl out on all fours, dragging his cross behind him
"God, that was the worst ride in my life, I feel sick, i think im gon-" vash covered his mouth. Looking quickly, he spotted another blonde hunched over a trash can.
Quickly crawling over, he stuck his head over and puked
They both took turns, each sharing the trash can as they both puked
"God, what Dorks." said a student as he passed
"Ew, that's gross," said another as she passed
"Jeez, I should really lay off the booze." Vash muttered to himself
"I should really stay away from bullheads,"
Replied the other blonde
"Yeah, let's do both," said vash
"Agreed, Im Jaune." Said the young blond resting his face on the trash can
"Vash." He replied, also resting his face on the other side of the trashcan
BOOM!
Gathering his resolve vash stood up unsteady with the added weight of the cross "well looks like i need to go investigate this."
"Bye," said juane
Waving vash departed, wobbling down the main walkway, eventually coming across a scene usually reserved for him.
"You dolt! What is wrong with you!"
Yelled a white-haired girl
"I'm sorry,i didn't mean to -" Ruby began before getting cut off
"Look at my dress, you've ruined it!"
Deciding the scene was safe, he stood back and observed
"Do you even know who I am?"
She said expectedly before a new voice started
"You're weiss schnee, the aire of the SDC, the largest dust company in remnant." Said a black haired student
"Glad to see somebody recognizes who I am."
Weiss was pleased to be known
"Who also happens to have a reputation for abusing its faunas workers, locking them in exploitative contacts."
She finished to the 'awws' and 'oos' of the crowd vash meanwhile just observed
"Those contractors were fully explained the contact conditions before higher, you should be less disingenuous and tell the whole truth of the matter."
Looking around to see the crowd that has formed weiss then added
"With that said, I have nothing left to say to the both of you."
Abruptly turning, she quickly walked away from the situation.
The crowd dissipated quickly now the show was over leaving vash and a brliugord ruby in the wake that was weiss schnee
Vash then approached
"I hope all the cute girls in this school aren't mean." He said
"Oh, hi mr.Vash."Ruby said dejectedly lying on the floor,
"Rough first day?"
He said as he squatted by
"It sucks. First, my sister ditched me, and then that lady's dust exploded. It was a huge deal and everything, and everyone thinks i'm an idiot now." T-T
"Hey, dont worry about it. It's only the first day. I'm sure everyone's more worried about passing initiation."
He said
"But what if they start calling me craterface."
Vash then stood
"They might, but they also might not, so its a waste of time to worry about it. So you shouldn't. Just do what you did at the dust store, and you'll be alright."
He stated as he reached down to ruby.
Looking at his hand, she then grabbed it, letting herself be pulled up by vash
"Im also sorry for my sister. She's overprotective."
She said abashedly
"It's ok, I kinda deserved it, I shouldn't have been looking at her boobs."
Vash replied in a matter of factual tone
"P-fff, hahaha."Ruby started laughing.
Vash smiling before continuing
"Anyway, we better get going to initiation."
Vash said as he began walking
Ruby followed closely behind
"You have to do that too?"
Ruby asked
"Since I'm new here, ozpin decided it's good for me to attend and do the initiation."
'It's also because i have to prove myself to the teachers because im technically not certified in squat' vash thoght to himself
"I get it, so is that your weapon on your back?"
Ruby said excitedly
"Something like that, it's an old momento from a dear friend of mine."
"So what's inside?" Asked ruby
Vash smiled and then replied
"It's full of mercy."
"Mercy?"
"Yup, my friend was a devoted priest who woud wander gathering money for his orphanage." Said vash
"He sounds like a good guy." Ruby said
"He was the best. Eventually, he found mercy himself, from himself."
"That doesn't make any sense."
Ruby said, scratching the back of her head
"It will when you're older."
Vash said with a smile
"Ok, but you still haven't answered my question." Ruby said
"My weapons?"
She smiled then whipped out her weapon, jamming it into the ground for display
"Yup, you've seen it before, but my crescent rose is a scythe that's also a highly customizable high impact sniper rifle."
Vash admired the weapon taking in its craftsmanship and quality
He whistled
"This is a fine piece. Did you make it?"
He asked
"Yup, it's traditional for a huntress to make her own weapon, so we know how to maintain it in the field and make repairs."
"That's neat. All I Got is a couple of dusty revolvers."
"Ooh, can I see?!"
Ruby asked excitedly
"Maybe some other time guns aren't toys, you know."
"I know that! Just because im young doesn't mean im a kid. After all, I drink milk!"
She said, with the utmost seriousness
Vash couldn't help himself tarted laughing
"Hahah, ok, im sorry. im just surrounded by so many young people. I forgot myself."
"What do you mean, you're barely even older than the other students, actually why did Mr. Ozpin, higher you, if i can ask ?"
"To be honest, I don't really know, I was really hurting for money, so I wasn't really able to refuse."
"Ahh, that makes sense. Freelance, huntsmen dont make a lot of money, from what I heard." Ruby said thoughtfully
Vash smiled. "i'm actually not a huntsman."
Ruby suddenly stopped dead in her tracks
Looking at him with wide eyes
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE NOT A HUNTSMAN!!?" She screamed.
"Hey, you don't have to say it out loud
It makes me self-conscious." Vash said shyly
"But you're gonna be working here. Do you even have your aura unlocked?"
She asked
"Nope, i haven't had to need it. Also, it kinda doesn't work."
"I don't even know what to say to that," Ruby said
"You must be really good then to survive so long without aura."
She accepted
"I like to think I am."
Vash finished as they reached the auditorium
"RUBY!"
vash heard a familiar voice looking around he spots a familiar pair of jugs, jiggling, jelotinusly his way
"Hey, yang!"
Said ruby
"I thought I told you to stay away from ruby." Yang began rapidly covering the distance to vash
"Yang, stop, he hasn't done anything."
Ruby told her sister
"Ruby, listen to me. You're too young to know, but this guy is bad news. He'll take advantage of you!"
"Im not yang, stop treating me like a kid, and he hasn't done anything to me. In fact, he's been nothing but nice to me."
"Ruby, it's for your own good."
"No, it isn't. He's my first friend in beacon, and you're pushing him away from me!"
"Hey, let's not fight." Vash attempted
"Shut up! I told you to stay away from my sister, you are a pervert, you probably think she's an easy target because she's young and naive."
"YANG, STOP! You're always doing this when I meet new people, I can't ever make friends because you always scare them away!" Ruby yelled, running into the crowd.
"Ruby, wait, this isn't over buster, I have words for you." Yang then ran off
And so vash stood "man she's really a piece of work."
"As most of our students are Mr. Stampede."
Turning around, vash spotted the woman of his dreams
"Of course, if you think you can't handle them, you're always allowed to quit."
Added miss goodwitch
"And give up on these impressionable young minds, NEVER! The highest calling I can personally attain is to be a teacher and guide these students on the path of righteousness." Vash said dramatically
He took a peek at her to see her flatly unimpressed
"Listen, mr.Stamped-"
"You can call me vash,"
"Mr. vash, but i'll be honest with you, i don't know what ozpin sees in you that made him want to hire you. But in my opinion you are totally and wholly unqualified, not only are you not a huntsman, you're nobody."
"You don't have to say it like that. Words like that can be hurtful, you know." T-T
"Take this seriously. You have no records
Or certificates, licenses, or even an address, you're unknown." She said, then continued
"I don't even think we should send you through initiation, I don't want the school to be held liable if the counsel found out we had a civilian without any formal training to join our staff, let alone be a teacher. Please reconsider the offer. You're going to get yourself killed, and Ozpin insists on sending you into the meat grinder."
She finished in Ernest, sincerity mixed with worry
Vash took on a serious expression.
"I appreciate the concern, really I do, but this isn't something I can turn my back on."
Vash said seriously
"After all, if the legendary gunman, vash the stampede, the humanoid typhoon, were to give up now, my reputation would be irreparably torn asunder."
He stated
"You don't even have a reputation."
She sighed. "I can't make you reconsider this, can I."
Vash only shook his head
"Oh well, come with me, we need to fill out paperwork."
