Episode #40 – With a little Faith

Year – 20xx

Day #51 – May 5/30th – Monday

Another morning, with of course another day at school, only for Keiko, Ryuji, Ann, Yuuki, Kiwa, Kasumi, and the other students to do some cleaning duty today for her to get cleaned up. Morgana will be tagging along to see how everything works out in Shujin's special project to be going on.

Morgana: We're cleaning up today, Madame Keiko?

Keiko: It sure looks like it, Morgana. But I don't mind working around outside.

Morgana: Then let's get to it.

Off to Shujin Academy then for Keiko and Morgana. On their way there around Shibuya area to take the train station, Kasumi was having a bit of trouble with some older and creepy man who was in the girl's way. This wasn't good.

Kasumi: Sorry, but I'm in a bit of a hurry.

Creepy Guy: You go to Shujin, right? I heard things have been rough there lately, what with that violent incident. You wanna go talk about it somewhere?

Ew, no way someone like her would go with the likes of that freaky guy.

Kasumi: Thank you for your concern. However, I really am in a hurry, so if you'd excuse me...

Bowing to try leaving next, but the man grabs hold of Kasumi's hand from going anywhere. As Keiko was in her gym uniform to make her way to school, Kasumi was in danger.

Keiko: Is that Kasumi...? (I don't like where this scene is going.)

Kasumi: ...Ah!

This is just not right.

Creepy Guy: C'mon, there's no need to be shy.

Now everyone else was staring at this scene to be going on.

Kasumi: Like I said...

Creepy Guy: If you're busy, I'll put my number in your phone so you can call me later. Sounds like a plan?

Kasumi: Stop it...

Something has to be done and there's only one person who can do something about it.

Keiko: (I can't overlook this...)

Morgana: Ah, Madame Keiko?

Keiko: I know, I'm on it.

Rushing to the scene to save Kasumi's life.

Kasumi: Uhh...

Creepy Man: Another cutie pie? What do you want? You want in too?

Keiko: Hey! Stop this! You're hurting her.

Pulling his hand back to make up a story.

Creepy Guy: Don't get worked up. I'm just being friendly here.

This gave Kasumi the chance to hide behind Keiko to stay away from the perverted man. Sucks for no one else didn't do anything to help. So rude!

Keiko: Yeah, stay behind me, Kasumi. Mister, leave us be or I'll call the police.

Creepy Guy: Oh, what the...What're you getting so jumpy about? Like you're anything special!

Well, he does leave them alone now. A made up thing for Keiko to do really pulled off.

Kasumi: ...Thank you so much! I'm sorry for the trouble!

Keiko: It's fine, Kasumi. Are you okay?

Kasumi: Yes, I'm fine now! We women have to stay strong, I'm glad you're one of them. It was pretty scary, though...Ah-Um...

Keiko: OK...?

She tries to say something next.

Kasumi: May I ask you something? So...what made you step in to help me?

Keiko: Why? Well, you were in danger. I couldn't look the other way.

It's something for Keiko to do what's right.

Kasumi: I...see. Well, I apologize for asking something so strange. You're headed to the cleanup as well, right?

Keiko: I am and I know you're too.

Looking at the watch to get going.

Kasumi: ...The cleanup...? *gasp* Look at the time! I'm so sorry, I haven't even thanked you properly yet! Oh no! I forgot my gym clothes at school! I'll see you at the cleanup, soon. We can talk more then, if you'd like.

Keiko: I would love to very much. Yeah, you're Kasumi Yoshizawa.

Leaving right away for Kasumi to get to Shujin too.

Kasumi: Pardon me!

Bowing and then leaving for Keiko saved Kasumi twice now after seeing her a lot lately.

Morgana: This girl's something else.

And now it's time to get to Shujin to do some clean up duty today for all of the students. Arriving at the outside field parks for Keiko to catch up to Ryuji and Ann to be all set to go.

Keiko: Hey, Ryuji and Ann.

Ryuji: Yo babe, what took ya so long?

Ann: Did you really come here from home in your gym clothes?

Keiko: It was best to be prepared. Why? Is it weird?

Well, it's not as bad as doing so. Look at Ann, she's not in her gym clothes at all.

Ann: No, that's not what I meant...

Ryuji: Ain't it normal? And, uh, are you planin' on doin' this cleanup in that outfit?

Looks like Ryuji was smart enough to remember getting into his clothes as well. For Ann, I hope she got her gym clothes all set to go.

Ann: Of course not! I brought my gym clothes with me. I was gonna change in the bathroom, but now there's a huge line.

Ryuji: Ohhh, that makes sense. Sounds like it sucks to be a girl for you two.

Keiko and Ann: It's called life.

Soon Yuuki joins the other three in his gym uniform.

Yuuki: It's such a nice day out that even the weather seems to be mocking us. Hi, Amamiya. You're even cuter in that uniform.

Keiko: Ah, thanks Yuuki. I think...

Leave it to Ryuji to stand up for Keiko from Yuuki's ways. Look who's talking...

Ryuji: Watch it, Mishima.

Yuuki: Sakamoto, you're no fun.

Ryuji: And dude, could you try pushin' your way into our conversation a little less awkwardly next time?

Yuuki: I bet some Kichijoji clean-freak hung paper dolls all over and prayed for clear skies today.

So, it just happened to be a nice day to do this thing. Soon Maruki shows up to the other four.

Maruki: Hey. Morning, everyone.

Keiko: Good morning, Maruki Sir.

Anyways, why was Maruki around with the other students?

Yuuki: Oh? Are you here for the cleanup too, Doc?

Maruki: You got it.

Ryuji: Uh, in those clothes?

Seems like it will be clumsy again.

Maruki: Oh, no. I'm in a different-

But before he could explain, some female students went up to hang out with Maruki to be hot looking at them but Ann and Keiko.

Flex Female Student: There you are, Dr. Maruki.

Thin Female Student: We're going to start prepping soon...

Ann: Prepping what?

Sounds like there was something going on for Maruki to have something special to be made.

Maruki: I'm part of the cooking crew. Hope you're looking forward to a solid meal.

Keiko: You can cook?

Maruki: A lot more than just giving out free snacks. Well, see you all later.

For him to be going off with the other girls 'and remembering something for them to help out Maruki', he does what he can besides being a doctor.

Ryuji: More like Dr. Popular...Keiko, you and Ann better not fall for the Doc.

Keiko: He's not my type really.

Ann: Ryuji, are you jealous?

Sounds like it.

Ryuji: Hey! What I say and worry about is my business! And Keiko's.

Yuuki: Either way, I'm sure the Phantom Thieves will be even bigger someday.

Sure sounds like it for Yusuke to look forward to and do some good to stop Madarame real soon. And then, Makoto speaks up from a megaphone to get the other students their attention to start working around the park side today for everyone to hear the Student Council President loud and clear.

Makoto: Good morning, Shujin Academy students and staff...Please pick up all trash located in the areas assigned to your group. Once the cleanup is completed, a lunch of miso soup with pork and vegetables will be served.

Someone was in a hurry to get to it.

Kiwa: I'm on it!

And another to get going...But falls down for the others to laugh about it and then helps Junko out.

Junko: Ouch...! Ah, I'm OK!

I guess the other four 'but Morgana' need to work now to act like normal students as much as they can. And for the food to be made later on, sounds tasty.

Ann: Ooh, pork miso soup! So that's what Dr. Maruki's fan club is making.

Yuuki: FYI, the school already assigned the groups at random. They're four people apiece, boys and girls mixed.

He was right, this has Ryuji feeling a bit down to not cook alongside Keiko. Same thing with Yuuki with Keiko either to keep things to himself about it.

Ryuji: Oh...really?

Keiko: I do love to learn how to cool in any way.

But wait, there was more to talk about for Makoto to say it on the loudspeakers.

Makoto: Now that those announcements have been made, please break into your groups and head to your assigned areas.

Sounds like a plan.

Ryuji: Alright, let's just get this over with as fast as possible so we can show down on that soup and get outta here!

Yeah, Ryuji is just saying this so he can have some food the most. All day, the students are working hard to make the park much cleaner all over. From picking up trash for Keiko to also being doing as well...Just without hearing the rumors to still be going around about Keiko being nothing but trouble, but she really wasn't.

Male Leader: Hey, that girl-yeah, her. Keiko Amamiya. Is she THAT transfer student?

Older Female Member: Yeah...

Young Female Member: You mean the one in all the crazy rumors?

Not this again.

Keiko: (This will never go away.)

Male Leader: Keep it down! What is she hears us?!

I don't think Keiko cares or didn't look too worried about it. On the other side of the park, some of the people didn't like touching the trash for Ann to be helping them out a lot.

Testy Male: Ugh. Anyone who just dumped a broken umbrella on the ground like this is human garbage.

Still part of their tasks.

Ann: Oh, before you trash it, you have to make sure you separate the plastic parts from the metal frame.

Large Male: Separate it? How?

From broken umbrellas it was hard to do sometimes by hand.

Ann: Like this.

She does it first by ripping them apart in seconds.

Testy Male: Whoa, awesome!

Bethune Girl: I had no idea you knew about that kinda stuff, Takamaki-san. I bet you'd make a wonderful wife.

With one guy on Ann's mind being Ryuji.

Ann: Oh, nah...

She's afraid to admit it in public...With Ryuji trying his best with the others to clean up trash, it was going well.

Uncouth Male: Sweet, a wallet!

Excited Female: Anything in it?

Looking at the wallet to have lots of money in it, you give it to a teacher and never have it to yourself.

Easygoing Male: Whoa! Yeah, a shit-ton!

Uncouth Male: ...We goin' splitsies on this?

Good thing Ryuji doesn't act like these guys are.

Ryuji: Wait-Shouldn't we take that to a police box?

Looks like they're not listening to him.

Ryuji: What?! How was that weird?

When will some teenagers learn never to take money away...While Yuuki did some things on his end, the same with Kiwa and Junko as well.

Yuuki: Man, this park is trashed...No way this was all done by kids-it's gotta be the work of some no good adults, too.

Yeah, it's bad to clean up because students have to do their jobs.

Junko: All set on my end.

Kiwa: Ah, yeah...same here.

Soon another third year girl student goes up to ask Yuuki about something.

Mature Female: If you don't mind, may I have the cap on the bottle?

Yuuki: Huh? Sure...Oh! Are you a collector?

Mature Female: Ah...Not exactly. Recycling companies collect these and convert them into vials for vaccines.

I guess some recycling things can be useful for other things.

Yuuki: Huh, I didn't know that...Well that sounds like an awesome way to bring more justice to the world!

Mature Female: ...I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I follow you.

Careful what you kind of say to others, Yuuki, of must justice and Phantom Thieves just in case. Also for this girl will be around from time to time. Maruki was making the food for everyone as promised. A lot of girls watched as a few others and the guys did the rest on their ends.

Maruki: Before I add taro to the pot, I have to rub them with salt to reduce the sliminess...

Sure looks and smells good so far.

Fawning Female: Ohhh, you're an amazing chef!

Maruki: I cook pretty often at home. Let me try this little technique here...

Placing a pinch of salt into the pot very carefully for the students to watch his work.

Thin Female: Huh? What the...Why's the win salty?!

Maruki: Uh...Sorry.

Weird...As Makoto kept doing her part as a Student Council President for the other students to hear her out.

Makoto: The cleanup is officially complete. Thank you for your hard work, everyone. Would the leader of each group please come and get the soup for their teams?

And now it was time for everyone to eat, for Keiko to do the same for her group.

Male Leader: So, after the soup's doled out, everyone's free to do whatever they want. Including getting the hell outta here.

Older Female Group: Oh, okay.

Young Female Group: Thank you for everything.

Now to take a breather for Keiko do the same with Morgana to talk to her while sitting down.

Morgana: I don't know the best way to put it...but that sure was a crappy time out there.

Keiko: Tell me about it.

Soon, Kasumi walks by to see Keiko taking a break.

Kasumi: Oh!

Keiko: Kasumi.

Guess they're able to talk to each other now again.

Kasumi: I've finally found you. I was trying to find you so I could thank you properly for this morning.

Keiko: It was nothing. I guess we need to be careful of perverts in the area.

So true, Kasumi had to say something to Keiko next from her group since hers as well.

Kasumi: So...Where'd the other people in your group go?

Keiko: They ditched me.

Kasumi: Ah...I see...I'm in pretty much the same situation. If it's alright with you, why don't we eat our soup together?

Some more time to get to know each other more.

Keiko: Sure. I would love some company.

Kasumi: Great! What's your name again...? Sorry to trouble you.

Keiko: It's no trouble to me. I'm Keiko Amamiya.

Kasumi: Keiko, what a lovely name.

Keiko: Kasumi's a good name for you as well.

As minutes went by for Keiko and Kasumi to be enjoying their soup, and some for Morgana to eat some on his end.

Kasumi: Thanks for the food. I want to thank you again for this morning. That man was even more frightening than he might have appeared to you...So I truly appreciate what you did for me! Thank you so much.

Keiko: Don't worry, it was nothing. I just help out others when needed.

Kasumi: Sorry, but I'm not even finished! There's one more issue I need to address...

Keiko: What's that?

A lot for Kasumi to bring this part up to Keiko to say it.

Kasumi: I'm also so sorry for what happened the other day!

Keiko: The other day?

Kasumi: ...The run-in we had outside of the guidance office.

Oh, right...Suguru messed up acting to be a sicko for what he tried to do to Keiko, for Kasumi was aware of it all until he confessed.

Suguru: And remember the discussion we just had? There are a number of students in this school you shouldn't get involved with...This fine woman with past issues must be carefully watched for our safety and hers to make it to the right path to almost make it on top of the list.

Kasumi: Oh, the delinquent female transfer student...?

Yeah, remember that? Keiko doesn't blame Kasumi for believing in Suguru's lies, but t now know he was a pervert.

Kasumi: Mr. Kamoshida had just told me about you a moment prior, so I sort of spoke without thinking there...I heard some of my classmates gossiping about you, too.

Keiko: Yeah, but what Kamoshida said in the end though...

Kasumi: I know! He tried to rape you and you couldn't say it, I get it. He makes me sick after he also tries to do it to other students. Hurting the boys and getting his way with the other girls...And what I'm saying is I'm sorry.

Keiko: For real? Well, I'm happy he didn't get to you either, did he?

I hope Suguru didn't get near Kasumi!

Kasumi: Oh no, he didn't and I'm glad. And yes, people are discussing all sorts of things about you behind your back. I don't like gossip or rumors and the like...And I know this'll sound strange since I just met you, but you don't seem like the kind of girl they describe. It'd be a different story if all those rumors were actually true, though. What were all the crimes I'd heard? Burglary, murder, and...elephant tusk trafficking, was it?

That's what the other students heard about Keiko on those things she did but really didn't?

Keiko: Ah, no...I didn't do those things. Also, I drive without a license, too. Back at my home town though.

Kasumi: *giggle* Even I can tell you're joking. Hm?

Keiko: What's up?

Kasumi: You know what, it just hit me-I haven't introduced myself yet!

Keiko: Ah, your name is Kasumi Yoshizawa, right? Again that's a nice name you have.

Kasumi: You're Keiko. And yes I'm Kasumi. Oh, I'm sorry to make you go first...Teacher?

Calling Keiko by the teacher huh?

Keiko: "Teacher"? Me...?

Kasumi: Yep, I'll call you teacher sometimes. I apologize this was such a long time coming, but I hope we can get along well! I believe you already learned from our meeting at school that my-

She stops talking to see a girl's balloon flying away, as Kasumi jumps up to get it and jumps back down. She was good.

Keiko and Morgana: Wow!

It was simply breathtaking there.

Morgana: Wh-What the hell just happened?! ...Oh, look.

Dropping something to belong to Kasumi, Keiko picks it up to see what it was.

Keiko: Hmmm... (It seems to be a Shujin Academy pocketbook. The name "Kasumi Yoshizawa" is written inside.)

Huh, how weird. As for Kasumi to give the balloon back to the little girl.

Kasumi: Got it just in time...Here you are. Don't let go of things you like, okay?

She goes back to talking to Keiko for Kasumi, who was very skillful.

Keiko: Wow, Kasumi, that was amazing what you did there.

Kasumi: Sorry, I didn't mean to run out on you like that and thanks for noticing.

Keiko: I see why you're called Kasumi. Also, here. You've dropped this.

Handing it back to Kasumi on what she almost lost.

Kasumi: Huh? I guess you sleuthed me out before I got to tell you. Well, you remembered right and saw my name-for I'm Kasumi Yoshizawa, a first-year! But you already knew that part already.

Keiko: And your skills, that was impressive.

Kasumi: You mean that back there? Oh, it was just some basic gymnastics. It's not that difficult once you get the hang of it-just a hop, skip, and a jump.

Sounds like a fun thing to do and a lot of work in between.

Morgana: Gymnastics, huh? Hey, Madame Keiko-don't you think some of those moves would be awfully useful? I was just thinking about how the Phantom Thieves need to get some sweeter moves, too...

Keiko: Yeah, Morgana, you may be right.

Hmm...Sounds like Morgana's on to something.

Kasumi: What's the matter, Teacher? Wait...Is there a cat somewhere around here?

Ah, getting to ask Kasumi because Keiko wanted to learn her moves.

Keiko: Say, Kasumi, I would love to learn your moves please.

Kasumi: Does that mean you're interested in gymnastics? That makes me so happy! I'd be honored if you'd allow me! The only problem is...I have a favor to ask for myself as well-If you wouldn't mind...

Keiko: And what is it?

Kasumi: Lately, I haven't been getting the results I want from my performances, and I'm worried that I'm overthinking things...So it would be wonderful if you could give me some advice whenever you have the time.

From her hard work to worrying about asking for Keiko's help on it.

Keiko: Well, are you sure you want my help? I'm just wondering...

Kasumi: Of course I am! I'm not looking for technical coaching so much as just lending me an ear from time to time.

Another deal to aid someone once again.

Morgana: I see...This sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me-what do you think?

Keiko: I hope I'll be helpful to you.

Sounds like a deal then.

Kasumi: Thank you! Then we've cut a deal! Heheh...

Another deal to be made for Keiko to help out Kasumi and she'll help her with her gymnastics moves, another Confidant slot was open...

Tayla: While back in the present time for Keiko to explain to Sae to her new friend Kasumi on what she can do to use combat skills and movements to use for battle to get it, to be very good at making a friend like her. A younger year type of girl for Keiko to make another friend of a girl like herself.

Sae: I've read in the reports that the Phantom Thieves' physical abilities are more acrobatic than the average person's. It seems you've gained an aptitude for specialty equipment as well, Keiko. Wouldn't a natural conclusion to draw be that you were trained by an expert in that field? Well? Tell me the truth!

A lot to be making more friends for Keiko's Confidants to keep on growing.

I am thou, thou art I...Thou hast acquired a new vow.

It shall become the wings of rebellion that breaketh thy chains of captivity.

With the birth of the Faith Persona,

I have obtained the winds of blessing that shall lead to freedom and new power...

Tayla: Faith Arcana #12 - Kasumi Yoshizawa/Violet (You'll understand that part way later on, I promise.)

Like the Aeon Arcana, the Faith is not found in standard tarot decks. The Faith Arcana is present in the Visconti-Sforza tarot deck card. Upright, it represents belief in others and in oneself, and in religion or science. On the other hand, reversed, it can represent blind faith misplaced in something that does not deserve trust. It can also mean false idols, or overconfidence.

Another friend, and another thing to do in between. Kasumi's Arcana, Social Link, and Confidant goes up to the first level 1.

Kasumi: Oh, why don't we exchange contact information? Hm?

Checking on her phone to see it wasn't on right now.

Keiko: Is there something wrong?

Kasumi: Hm? It shut down...Sorry, my smartphone's been acting up lately

Now it starts to work again.

Keiko: I hope it's not dead.

Kasumi: Ha, it's back! Okay, I'll contact you when I've got free time, if that's fine!

And they have the parts on their phones to keep in contact.

Keiko: Got it.

And then Makoto talks again to get the other students' attention.

Makoto: Attention Shujin Academy students: the cleanup event will be ending momentarily. Please do not discard your trash in the bins here. Instead, bring your waste to the predetermined location for disposal. After that, we will be officially releasing everyone for the day. Thank you all for your hard work.

I guess it's all over now.

Kasumi: Well, the cleanup seems to be finished.

Keiko: It would seem like it.

Kasumi: We're already in our gym clothes-would you care for some basic training before heading home? Let's start with some core exercises! Those are the foundation for staying in shape.

Keiko: Okay, Kasumi! (I trained with Kasumi...)

As they do some workout, Kiwa was watching Kasumi again for Keiko and Morgana to both notice.

Kiwa: Wow...

Morgana: (That guy seems to have a thing for Kasumi, it must be love.)

A nice way, from the looks of it. A nice way to start things off first and make another friend too, for Keiko and Morgana headed on home to shower right away to then lend Sojiro a hand.

Sojiro: Good thing you showered first before helping me out in the cafe today.

Keiko: Me too, Mr. Sakura.

A nice way for Morgana to sit by and watch.

Morgana: Finally home...A lot of stink to clean up, Madame Keiko. But yep, you've done it.

Always shower after a long day to help out and workout-like of help. As they have the rest of the night, both Keiko and Morgana go to the movie theater together for a relaxing time to see one of the movies that is now out.

Keiko: Another day, another clean up to be done. And getting to know a new friend name Kasumi Yoshizawa.

Morgana: With her skills, as the Phantom Thieves can learn some moves little at a time the more we learn the moves.

For Morgana's ideas on those are great and Keiko making other friends with skills of their own to learn. With lots of other Social Links are useful alright, I'm just saying…After a very long day working hard for school and at the park all day long, they deserve it while also still waiting for June the 5th to arrive. See you guys next time for more…
