Soos
12:15 PM
...Soos's eyes opened slowly, his vision hazy.
He felt like...he was lying down...on his back...
"H-...Huh...?" Soos softly uttered.
His right arm was hanging off from his side...he felt like he was on...a bench?
"Urgh..." Soos picked himself up from behind, sitting up and readjusting himself to let his legs hang over the bench and his feet touch the ground. Putting a hand on his head to ease the pounding sensation he had, Soos shut his eyes as he shook his head. "Ugh...what...what just..." He opened his eyes and glanced at his surroundings.
He was...in some kind of...park?
Everything around him was full of roses, surrounding their way around areas of the park. There were also intricate stone arches that led to portions of the area, the ground being cobblestoned while benches were all lined up alongside these pathways.
"...Huh..." Upon remembering something else, Soos looked down at his right leg...
...It was healed...in fact, the pant leg wasn't ripped and there was no bite wound.
Eyes widened at that, Soos looked down at his leg...
"...Uh...o…kay?"
Wiggling it around, he sees that it was, indeed, healed. Cautiously putting his right leg on the ground, he soon got up from his seat.
"..." He then glanced to his right and left, his right looking like the way out of this small park, but on his left, was where it goes further into the park...
There was a large statue a short distance to where he was to the left.
It was of a woman...
...Soos went over to where the statue was.
Maneuvering through the winding paths of this park, he finally made his way to the statue. It was at the center of the park it seemed, and it depicted a woman standing...and praying, her head bowed down as she had her hands together in prayer.
Staring up at the statue, Soos looked at the intricate structure, the beautiful features on the figure...
Looking at the plaque below the statue, he read it in curiosity.
The Lady of the Lake
The folktale of a woman who was vanquished unfairly during the Witch Trials of 1962-1963 to an island in Toluca Lake for supposed witchcraft.
"...Huh. Well...that's a pretty big bummer for her," Soos said softly.
"I know," said a voice behind him. A female's voice...
Soos jumped in surprise and turned around to see...
...An attractive young woman, probably in her mid to late twenties, in nurse attire...
She had long auburn hair and her skin was almost a fair white. Her clothes were that of light blue scrubs and white shoes...
The woman jumped back, a little surprised herself. "Oh! I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to startle you!"
"Oh, uh...n-no, it's okay!" Soos assured, "I was just...uh...well, reading what this plaque here says about this statue. It's a, um...very nice sculpture."
The woman smiled, "Yes, it is, isn't it? And the story behind it is also really romantic."
"Story?" Soos wondered in interest.
"Oh yes, the story of the Lady of the Lake. And, well, I say it's romantic, but...it's a little tragic at the same time."
"Oh...well, I can handle sad stories. I mean...I can handle them if they have hopeful undertones in them," Soos said. It was then he remembered something really important, his eyes widened, "Oh! E-Excuse me, um, Miss? I'm, uh, I'm looking for my daughter! Sh-She's lost, and I have to find her in this town!"
The woman blinked at Soos, but instantly looked concerned when he stated his dilemma, "Oh goodness! Well...I was just going to work, but..." the woman then looked around the area, her expression showing...confusion, "...Wait...actually...wh-where am I?"
Soos blinked at that question. "Um...you mean what town? Well, this town we're in now is Silent Hill. As for what place, I…" he paused as he looked confused as well, "...wait...I...don't really know..." he looked around the area also. "I...I don't seem to remember this place back when I was here..."
The woman froze in her spot, baffled as she stood there. "I'm...back home..."
"Huh?" Soos looked back at her, "You're...back home? You mean...in this town? Silent Hill?" he asked her in curiosity.
"...Y-Yes..." the woman stood there, feeling a little...lost? Confused? Bewildered? Soos wasn't sure.
"Um...w-well, okay..." Soos then just thought of an idea, "Oh, hey! If you're from here, then maybe you can help me find my daughter! Uh, what's your name, if you don't mind me asking?" he asked her, "Uh, m-my name is...well, you can just call me Soos. My last name is Ramirez."
The woman broke out of her shocked trance and looked back at Soos, a little surprised as she answered, "Oh, uh, Lisa. Lisa Garland."
"Okay then!" Soos nodded with a relieved smile, "W-Well, I really do need the help actually on finding my daughter, so...w-would you be able to help me?"
"I..." Lisa paused, "...I-I'm sorry, but...c-can I ask if this town we're in is really Silent Hill?" she asked him.
Looking at Lisa oddly, Soos answered, "Um, yes? I mean, I would think so...even though I don't think I recognize this whole park at all when I was last here, but I feel like I'm in Silent Hill because of this fog in general, so...uh, yeah..." he rubbed the back of his neck.
"...Oh..." Lisa looked...bothered.
Blinking at her reaction, Soos asked her, "Um...excuse me, Lisa? But, uh...are you okay?"
"...I...I think so..." Lisa grabbed her head with her hand, looking like she was trying to remember something.
Wondering what was bothering her, Soos then decided to ask another question, one that he felt was appropriate since Lisa said to have lived here, and just in case he wasn't dreaming.
"Uh, Lisa...?"
Lisa looked at Soos, her expression appearing to tell him to continue his question.
"Um...can I ask...if there has been any strange...stuff going on around here as of late?" Soos asked her.
"Strange...stuff? What do you mean?" Lisa asked him in confusion.
"Well...when I entered this town with my daughter, everything looked...abandoned. Well, except for two people, but you're like the third person I met here all day."
"Really?" Lisa's eyes widened in shock.
"Yeah, and...um, well, my car broke down and my daughter, she...well, she walked off while I was trying to fix the car and...I tried to look for her...and there were...uh, some kind of dog-looking monsters and...y-yeah, I just encountered some strange stuff here..." Soos trailed off from there.
"Um...monsters?" Lisa asked, her curiosity and concern growing.
"Y-Yeah, but, I mean...I don't think there's...like, you know, any of them now."
"Oh...w-well...I...I was just..." Lisa glanced around the area, looking almost uneasy, "I mean...I was only just going to work. I...I work as a nurse in..." she shook her head and asked Soos, "Y-You mean to tell me that this isn't...Boston?"
Soos blinked again, a little puzzled, "Boston? Uh, no, um, Lisa, this is...you're in Maine...and...Silent Hill...which is in Maine."
"...But...I was...there...at the...hospital..." Lisa closed her eyes as she grunted, seemingly trying to remember something...she grabbed onto her head with both of her hands, her expression twisting into a pained look.
"Whoa, uh, hey, um, Lisa," Soos said as he approached her, concerned for her, "It-It's okay, um...what, uh, what was the last thing you remember?"
"...I...I was in...the hospital...working as a...nurse..." Lisa tried to remember, but the more she tried, the more she grimaced, almost as if it was physically hurting her to remember things.
"Hey, hey, Lisa," Soos cautiously put a hand on one of her shoulders, which she let go of her head, lowering her arms down to look at him, surprised by the touch. Soos then realized that he was touching a rather attractive woman...he let go and continued, "Um...look, I'm gonna be honest, but there might be something wrong with Silent Hill right now. This town, it...when I was last here...w-with...anyway, when I was last here, it was just a normal resort town...but all of a sudden, it's all...well, like I said, abandoned. And there were some strange things happening around here and...well, I was...um..." Soos looked at his pant leg again to see if the wound was even there...and it wasn't. "...I...I was almost attacked?" He looked back at Lisa, "Either way, you said you lived here one time? Has, uh, this ever happened before?"
Lisa stood there to think...she answered, "I...I don't know."
"Well..." Soos looked around the foggy area of this park, "Um..." he looked back at Lisa.
The woman looked a little lost...it kind of tugged on Soos's heartstrings a bit...
...Maybe I should help her. She looks about as lost as I am. Soos thought.
"Um, Lisa? You...well, you seem to imply you're about as confused as I am, so...how about we stick together?" Soos asked her, "That way, we can find some answers on why you're here and...well, I can find my daughter and know what's wrong with this town."
Looking at Soos with wide eyes, her posture seemed to relax, her lips now giving a small but grateful smile toward the big man.
"I...thank you. That would be helpful," Lisa said, "And...you seem to be a very nice person, so...you don't seem to be dishonest."
"Uh, heh, well...thanks," Soos said as he rubbed the back of his neck hesitantly.
...They both stood there in silence...
"...Oh! Uh, we probably should get going! I mean...find out where we are," Soos suggested.
"Oh, right," Lisa said with a smile and a nod, "Um, I actually know where to go since I know this area. However, you said you were looking for your daughter?"
"Oh yes! I just...well, I have to find her!"
"Well, I grew up here, so...maybe I can help you go to places where your daughter might be?"
"Um, I mean, if you can, then that's great!" Soos said with a relieved smile.
"Okay then!" nodded Lisa with a smile of her own. "I think I know where we are too! Follow me!"
Lisa guided Soos through a pathway that led out of the park, a gated two-door entrance. Once they approached it, she tried to get the heavy gate open by using her strength to pull it.
"Oh, uh, let me!" Soos chimed in.
"Oh! Thank you," Lisa said to him, giving him a smile.
"Heh, uh, no prob," Soos then grabbed the gate and pulled the heavy door open with both of his hands. Using his strength, he pulled it to let Lisa go through the opening of the gate's door, which she squeezed through the opening while Soos held onto it.
The big Hispanic man saw her go through, which was his turn to go through the door's opening.
"Urf...okay...just...let me pull it a little...wider...urgh..." Soos pulled the door wider. Once it was the appropriate size to go through, Soos let go of the door gate and squeezed out of the park's entrance. Once he got past it, he pulled the gate door closed, with it having a resounding CLANG when it closed.
"Whew!" Soos wiped his forehead with his forearm.
"Wow, you're pretty strong, Soos," Lisa said, impressed.
"Say wha?" Soos looked at Lisa, and couldn't help but chuckle, "Heh-heh, uh, I mean, I'm not that strong, but...well, I would think being a handyman one time would've gotten me into some kind of shape..."
"Well, either way, your wife is lucky to have someone like you," Lisa said with a sweet smile.
"H-Huh? My wife?" Soos asked in confusion.
"Well, you said you have a daughter, so...I can only suggest that you have a wife...do you?" Lisa asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh...Oh yeah, I-uh, I...I mean...well..." he looked down with a forlorn frown.
Blinking at his hesitation, Lisa asked him, "Soos?"
"...I mean, my wife...she passed away," Soos revealed, his tone a little distant.
Eyes widening to that, Lisa made a small gasp, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I-I didn't-I mean, I didn't know!"
"No, it's okay...it was an illness that took her...I...I made...peace with it..." Soos muttered, but his tone sounded almost...unsure.
Lisa looked at the big man with sympathy in her eyes. "...Well...we really do need to find your daughter then."
"Y-Yes...I...I do. I need to find her," Soos said, getting back to the task at hand.
Nodding to that, Lisa looked and pointed at the foggy road ahead that was to their right. "Well, we can try going this way. It leads to a hospital. Maybe your daughter might be there?"
Looking at the direction Lisa was pointing, Soos said, "Oh...yeah, she could be there. Maybe she didn't know where to go and...yeah," feeling hopeful, he smiled, "I always told her that hospitals are safe havens for people who get sick."
"Right!" Lisa smiled...but her smile slowly dropped as she looked to have remembered something, "Right..."
However, Soos didn't notice her expression, and began to walk up to the road, "Well, let's get going then!"
Snapping her attention back to Soos, Lisa replied, "Um, right!"
They walked forward onto the road, the fog still covering their field of vision as they progressed.
They kept walking, silent throughout the way...
...It was then, Soos asked Lisa, "Um...just to pass the time while we get to this hospital, but what was the story about back there at the park?"
Lisa glanced at Soos, "Oh, well...it's an old folktale...the Lady of the Lake. You see, there was a woman who was accused of witchcraft, but nobody knows for sure about that. Some say she was wrongly accused, but...the majority of the town thought otherwise. She was then sentenced to be taken to an island of the lake, Toluca Lake, and to die there all alone."
"Oh...well...that's pretty sad," Soos said with a frown.
"Yes...but, there was one man...who fell madly in love with her," Lisa said with a smile, "He secretly rowed his boat at night to give the woman supplies to keep warm, food, and...company."
"...Oooh..." Soos knows what that last one meant.
Lisa giggled, "He did that every night to see her, and the woman would always light a candle for him to guide him to the island...but then one night, a terrible storm broke. The woman's candle was blown out, and the man couldn't find her...the storm was great, and that was when...it took the man...the woman, though, never gave up and kept her light on, hoping he would still come...hoping to bring her beloved to shore."
"Wow...that's...that's really sad..." Soos said, his frown going down a bit more.
"Well, either way, it's a portrait of undying love...we don't know how much truth it is, but it showed that even when things look hopeless, the woman always held onto that hope to let her light bring her beloved home..." Lisa finished with a serene smile, "I wish I had someone like that."
"Huh? You mean...someone who would want to do things for you? Or...just be loyal to you?" Soos asked her.
"Well, I hope that doesn't sound selfish, but...just the feeling that they love you no matter what people say about you, whether it's true or not...it's a really deep and beautiful love."
"...Huh...yeah..." Soos walked on ahead with Lisa as he thought about that...
They kept walking into the fog...
Gideon
11:50 AM
The albino young man exited the room, putting the radio in his pocket while having his gun in his right hand.
"Alright...where to now?" Gideon asked himself.
He looked to his right to see down the hall he went through.
"...I guess I could go to the other side of the floor here," he muttered to himself.
DING!
Gideon jumped at the sound.
"Ack!" he yelped. Blinking at that occurrence, he sighed a little annoyed of himself, "Seriously, you gettin' riled up over a text message."
He got his phone out of his other pocket, and looked at the phone's screen.
It was the mysterious texter again.
CHECK EVERY DOOR.
...Blinking at that, Gideon raised an eyebrow, "Um...why, exactly?"
And then, like that, another text came to him.
DING!
YOU'LL SEE.
WHATEVER DOOR IS OPEN, GO INTO THE ROOM.
THAT IS YOUR NEXT DESTINATION.
"..." Gideon frowned, "Oh joy..."
Still...you got to find Mabel...you need to get her out of this town.
Nodding to that, Gideon then went to either door that was on this floor.
He went to the door to room 202. He checked the door as he reached for the doorknob.
It was locked.
"...Mmkay," Gideon muttered.
He went to the other door room across the hall, room 203.
It was locked.
He went to room 204 across from the other side of the hall.
It was locked.
He went over to the other side and end of the hall, that room being room 205.
It was also locked.
"...And just what is the purpose of this?" Gideon asked himself in frustration.
He went to the adjacent middle hall, going to room 206 on the left side of that hall.
He reached for the doorknob and turned it...
...It was open.
"...Hm...okay..." Gideon then proceeded to open the door and pushed it open a bit.
The room appeared...to be dimly lit. The overhead light was on, but it was completely faint in its glow.
"...Nope...not creepy," Gideon mumbled.
He went inside, taking in his surroundings cautiously...
...There was a couch, a TV on a stand, a recliner chair, and a coffee table on the left of the room, which was the living area, and a kitchen on the right...there was also a door up ahead, and a door on the left side of the living room.
...It looked like someone actually lived here. The whole room looked...really...tidy? Livable? Well-maintained?
...This was a little odd for Gideon.
"...Does...Does someone live here?" Gideon wondered hesitantly.
...But there was something even more strange about this room...
...It all looked...familiar...
"..." Gideon walked forward into the room. Once close to the kitchen area, he turned to his right to enter it. Standing in front of the fridge, he observed it for the time being, curious if anything was in here...
...Well, if I see food in this fridge, then that could only mean someone lives here...in this run-down apartment complex...
Gideon felt...nervous all of a sudden.
Am I...Am I breaking into someone's home?
Still looking at the fridge, he raised his hand to carefully reach for its handle...grasping it, he pulled it...
...In it, he saw...a sandwich on a plate...with a note on the side of it.
It said one word.
EAT.
...This raised an eyebrow from Gideon.
"...O...kay..." Gideon observed the sandwich inside the fridge. It looked to be a sub with...turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar cheese and...mayo...
...It was Gideon's favorite go-to sandwich...
"...Um...is...uh, who made this?" he asked himself.
Glancing at the note that said "EAT.", he wondered if the sandwich was some kind of...trap.
...His stomach was growling.
...Well...I mean...
Gideon reached for the sandwich plate, and thoroughly observed the contents of it, opening up the bread to see the meat and the cheese already on it, as well as the mayo. He even tried to dip his pinky finger in the mayo on the sandwich and taste it to see if it's poisoned or anything...it seemed to taste like mayonnaise...
"...I...think this is just a sandwich..." Gideon confirmed himself.
DING!
Jumping from the sound, Gideon put the plate on the counter table, got his phone out, and looked at the text.
EAT. PRESERVE YOUR ENERGY.
Blinking at the message, Gideon looked at the sandwich that he put on the counter.
"...Okay then..." he mumbled.
He put the phone away and picked up the sandwich with both hands...
"...I mean...it is lunchtime...the time did say twelve…and I am a little hungry..." Gideon convinced himself.
...He took a bite of his sandwich.
...It was good.
So, with that, he ate his sandwich, which he ate every bit of it...
It appeared the sandwich was, indeed, a sandwich...a pretty good sandwich.
Swallowing the last bite, Gideon hummed. "...Well...that was good...but..." Gideon looked back at the open fridge.
...Closing the fridge door, he looked at the freezer door.
Curious, he opened the freezer door...
...There was a case of bullets inside the freezer.
Taken aback by this, Gideon looked at the case in shock.
What the? Who...Who would keep a case of bullets in a freezer!?
Upon remembering the gun tucked in his pants, Gideon had a very disturbing thought.
Wait...is someone...like, did someone give me a gun and they're just looting around cases of bullets for me to use?
A little worried about this prospect, Gideon stared at the case of bullets, not knowing if he should pick them up or not.
...Well, I did fire some bullets at that...monster...
He shook his head upon remembering the monster that resembled his mother.
I...well, I guess I do need to reload my gun now...
Gideon looked at the case of bullets...reaching for the case, he picked it up and slid it open, seeing how maybe bullets were in there. Seeing that there were twenty bullets in the case, he poured out some into his hand, and got out his gun to reload it. He got the rest of them out of the case, pocketing them for safekeeping.
Once he got his gun out and all loaded, as well as putting his phone in his other pocket with his radio, he walked out of the kitchen area to see what direction he should go in.
He looked at the door next to the kitchen and the door next to the living area to Gideon's left.
"...Okay, so where to?" he asked himself.
...He waited...waited as if his phone would come up with a text noise that'd told him where to go next.
...Nothing came up.
"..." Frowning at that, Gideon muttered, "Oh, now you say nothin'."
Wondering which door he could go in, he decided to go to the nearest one, the one to his right near the kitchen.
Turning to the door, he approached it, reaching for the doorknob, and turning it. He opened the door and saw that it was a small hallway, with a door to the left and a door to the right. He ventured over to the opened door to the left, and saw that it was a bathroom. A simple bathroom with one sink, a toilet, and a shower tub.
However, he spotted something in the sink...
Thinking that maybe this place had electricity, he flipped the light switch in the bathroom, which it did turn on.
There was something...red that looked like it splashed and coated the sink heavily...it looked...like...
Blood.
But that's not all. In the sink, where this supposed blood was splattered, there was...
...A key.
The key looked skinny, the base of it thin and the top of it showing the number 212...it was a room key altogether.
Gideon looked down at the key in the sink...the sink that was covered in 'blood'...
"...Um..." While he was disturbed by the amount of blood (that he hoped it wasn't, honestly) that was in the sink, he felt like this key would let him proceed to where he needed to go.
So, he picked up the key gingerly, making sure he didn't somehow touch the dried-off blood that it laid upon. Picking it up with his index finger and thumb, he lifted it up to his face to examine the key.
"...Okay then. I found a room key..." Gideon murmured to himself.
Then, a sound emerged next to Gideon's left. He jumped at the noise as it pierced through the silence.
It sounded like...a baby...
Turning his whole body to the sound, he exited out of the bathroom, checking where it might be. It sounded like it came from the other room that was across the bathroom.
...Pocketing the key, he walked over to the other door...
The noise coming from the room indeed sounded like it was a baby...and it was crying...
The cries were getting louder...
And then it sounded like a loud wailing...
...Reaching over to the doorknob of the other room where the baby's wailing was, Gideon felt a little nervous, wondering what a baby would be doing here alone in an empty apartment...
He twisted the doorknob...and opened the door...
...The baby's wailing stopped.
When he opened the room's door, he turned on the light switch and encountered...a baby's room.
A baby boy's room, from what he could see from all the blue colors that he was seeing. From blue walls, blue drawers, a blue crib, and a blue rocking chair with some toys laying around, Gideon observed his surroundings as he walked inside...
He tried to find the baby that was crying...he walked over to the crib and found...
...Nothing but a white baby-sized rolled-up swath of fabric...
...Gideon was certainly confused.
"Um..." Gideon looked down at the swath of cloth and reached down to maybe...poke the ball of fabric?
This...wasn't what was crying, was it?
He reached over and poked the cloth...it didn't move...
...The albino young man reached with his other hand to scoop up the makeshift-looking baby, cradling it with both of his hands and arms.
It felt...almost light...it didn't feel like an actual little human was wrapped up in this cloth.
...He moved the cloth around to see that it was all bundled up, letting it be one cloth bunched up into an egg-shaped ball.
As he was untying the whole cloth to let the ball lose its shape, he then saw something else inside the fabric.
Something made of metal...
Gideon got it out of the wrapping.
...It was another key.
This key belonged to room 207.
"...Another room key?" he asked questionably.
...The room was silent.
Dropping the cloth onto the floor, Gideon looked around the nursery and felt a little bit uneasy.
He decided to turn around and leave the room...so he did...when he reached for the door, however-
AAAAIIIIEEEE! HAHA!
"GAH!" Gideon booked it right then and there. He rushed through the hall and was back in the living/kitchen area, closing the hallway door behind him.
Breathing a little heavily from the scare of hearing a baby laugh out of nowhere, Gideon put a hand on his chest where his heart is.
"Okay...okay...just settle down..." Gideon calmed himself with a deep breath.
Once he got his grip together, he looked at the key in his hand.
...Pocketing the other key in his pocket once again, he began to walk to the exit door of the room, feeling like he found the exact objects he was supposed to find.
...But then, a loud sound came from the other door near the living area.
BOOM!
Gideon jumped, yelping out, "ACK!"
He turned his attention to that door...
...It was silent...until the sound came through the door again.
BOOM! BOOM!
...Freezing up, Gideon looked on at the door, the door shaking from each bump it emitted.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
...Gideon was thinking it was time to go.
"Uh..." Before he could turn to rush over to the room's exit-
"Gideon…"
He froze again, pausing in his steps. Turning his whole direction at the door, the voice that he heard sounded all too...familiar...
"Gideooon…"
...It sounded...way too familiar.
"Oh, Giiiiideoooon…"
"...D-...Dad?" Gideon stuttered, feeling a little bit unsure and nervous.
"...Have you been a good little boy?"
"...Dad?" Gideon almost stepped forward to the door to see if this was who was talking...but then he realized...just like the monster that posed as his mother, this 'person' posing as his dad...wasn't his father...
"...Who's a good booooy?"
"...W-Whoever you are, I'm...I'm not falling for it...m-my dad is in Boston...so, you better stop doing what you're doin'!" Gideon weakly warned this voice.
...
...
"...Ooooh, you shouldn't have done that, boy."
...Gideon took that as a bad sign.
"Um..." he backed away from the door that was a little ways from him.
...BOOM!
"YOU..."
BOOM!
"NEED…"
BOOM!
"A-WHIPPIN..."
BOOM!
"BOY!"
BOOM-CRAAASH!
The door broke and busted open...and out came...another monster.
"AAACK!" Gideon screamed as he wildly backed away.
The monster in question was...a beefy one. It appeared to be a light-skinned large man (like his father), his physique just tight, bulging, and muscled-skin. It looked like he didn't have any hair on him, except for around his face, creating a brown rounded beard. He seemed to be wearing baggy sweatpants, and was shirtless, exposing his muscles and abs, making him look like either an experienced pro-wrestler or an experienced weight-lifter. His facial features, though...for one thing, he has no eyes like the Mommy Dearest, and only had a nose and a mouth...a mouth that was sewn together by what looked like his own skin! It looked like the straps of skin that went across his upper and lower lips were stretching every time his mouth moved. But all in all, his mouth looked to be in a permanent scowl...like he was deeply disappointed.
Once he trudged out of the door frame that he broke out, the monster (Buddy Boy) began to approach Gideon, his scowl still on his face.
"GAH!" Gideon hurriedly got his gun out of his pants and aimed at the Buddy Boy, backing away as best as he could. "S-Stay back!"
The monster paused when Gideon got his gun out. But this only made the hulking figure a lot angrier, as his scowl deepened.
"You...You trying to be a rebel, Boy!?"
"N-No! I-I'm not! Y-You're not my daddy!" Gideon exclaimed, his hands shaking as he held the gun in his hands.
"You...are a miserable man. You think you can just take control!?"
"N-No! I-I know better now! I know to love and respect my parents!"
"Then, MAN UP FOR WHAT YOU DID!"
"What!?" Gideon looked at the Buddy Boy in shock and confusion, "But, I-I did! I did man up!"
"QUIT LYIN', BOY!"
"I'M NOT LYING!" Gideon, with a fit of rage, pulled the trigger on the gun.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The bullets hit the large monsters, two in the stomach, one in the left shoulder, and the last in the chest.
"GRAAAH!"
The Buddy Boy looked to have been stunned, staggering from the gunshot wounds. Gideon took it as a chance to escape the room and the monster. He rushed over to the exit and got out of the room, and went to his right to go to the third hall that was on the other side of the floor. When he turned to the other hall, though...
...There was a gate that was blocking the way to room 212.
"What the!?" Gideon exclaimed in shock.
"GIDEOOON!" yelled out the monster, sounding as if he was getting out of the room and over to where he was.
Turning around, Gideon got his gun ready and backed away in fear, his back now leaning against the barricade gate in the hall.
The monster was stomping his way around the corner of the hall Gideon was in...
...He was now in Gideon's view as he turned the corner.
The Buddy Boy was bleeding through his gunshot wounds, the blood dripping through the shots that were inflicted on his person.
He looked especially angry.
"You...You are nothin' but a SPOILED BRAT!" the monster exclaimed.
"I-I'm not! I'm not! D-Don't make me shoot you again!" Gideon yelled out as he warned him, pointing the gun at the Buddy Boy.
"Oh, you think you're man enough to come at me, Boy!?" the monster roared at Gideon.
"STOP BEING MY DAD! YOU'RE NOT MY DAD! MY DAD WOULDN'T ACT LIKE THAT TO ME!" Gideon shouted at the Buddy Boy.
"Oh, nah...just when I was submissive to ya!" snarled the monster as he began to near Gideon.
"Wh-What!?" Gideon's eyes went wide, "N-No! No, I'm not like that anymore! I-I'm a good person now! I changed!"
"Then man, up, for what, you, DID!" Buddy Boy angrily yelled at him.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN!? I RECONCILED! I MENDED MY RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOU AND MOM! EVEN TO PEOPLE THAT I DID WRONG! WHAT MORE CAN I DO!? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I DID!"
"And that's why you need to be PUNISHED!"
The Buddy Boy then charged over at Gideon, almost like a football player.
"NO!" Gideon yelled in a panic.
He shot his gun until the clip was empty.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Since the monster was so large, the bullets hit him from every part of his body. The right arm, his left chest, his right chest, his left arm, in the center of his chest, and right in the head. The shots slowed him down as he rushed over to Gideon, however, when the last shot hit him in the head, the Buddy Boy staggered as he jerked his head back and wobbled around.
"AAAARRGGHH-OOOOOooooo!" the monster hollered out as the shot fatally wounded him. He shifted his weight forward and plopped to the ground with a wham!
...The Buddy Boy seemed to not be moving...a pool of blood was seeping out of the body underneath him.
Gideon, who was six feet away from the monster, shook in trepidation as he held onto his gun, still pulling the trigger despite running out of ammo. Slowly glancing down at the dead corpse that was bullet-ridden, he breathed heavily, scared out of his mind.
That...That wasn't...That wasn't Daddy...
...The dead body was still, not having any indication that it was getting back up.
"...Oh, merciful Heavens," Gideon softly said, getting his wits back.
I...I killed another...thing...
...What are these things?
...Are they...monsters, or...I mean, what are they?
It doesn't matter, ol' Gideon. Survival of the fittest, you know?
...His eyes went wide in surprise.
...Where did that come from?
...
...I...I'm not like that...I changed.
"...I changed," Gideon muttered to himself.
Upon looking at the corpse of the Buddy Boy, Gideon decided to keep going and walk past the monster. He maneuvered around it, as it was a little in the center of the hallway. Once he did (being very careful not to step on the pool of blood around the monster), he went back to the second hallway of the second floor.
When he entered the second hallway, he saw the blood trail the Buddy Boy made on his way toward where Gideon was, from out of room 206.
But now, he has to go to room 207...maybe?
I mean, I was blocked from going to room 212, so...maybe there's another way through there?
...There was one way to find out.
Gideon went up the hall once more and soon came up to room 207.
Once he got over there, he fished out the key from his pocket, getting the one that was labeled '207'.
Okay...onward to the unknown I go...
Putting the key into the lock, he turned it and opened the room's door.
He slowly swung it open...and walked in.
As he walked into the room, Gideon turned on the light switch and looked around the area. To his right of the room, there was a dining area and a kitchen and pantry, and on the left side of the room, there was a living area, and there were two doors that led to two different rooms.
Venturing further into the room, Gideon looked around the living area, which consisted of a coffee table, a couch, two chairs, a TV stand, and...a strange-looking cabinet.
He walked over to the cabinet...and realized it was a coin cabinet.
There were five coin slots on the cabinet...but written above the slots, was some sort of...riddle.
Gideon looked at the words that were engraved onto the coin cabinet.
Three bright coins in the five holes be,
first sits the Maiden underneath the tree.
The wind free behind the Maiden doth blow,
a beautiful flower alone has to grow.
And here comes the Man, so sleek and so fine,
In the pale moonlight his eyes doth shine.
"...Um...huh..." Gideon looked at the coin cabinet a little oddly.
He turned to the doors to his left. Deciding to leave the coin cabinet behind, he walked over to the first door. Reaching for the doorknob and twisting it, he saw that the door was locked.
"...Hm," Gideon hummed.
He then went to the other door next to it, on the right.
Reaching for the doorknob, he twisted it...and it opened.
Satisfied with that, he entered the room...
...Turning on the light switch, Gideon saw what was inside the room.
There was but a bed, a cabinet drawer, and...a steel pipe that was lodged into a damaged area on the wall...
"...Huh," Gideon walked over to the damaged area of the wall and grabbed the steel pipe that was poking out of it. He pulled the pipe with all of his might...and then, it popped off!
CRACK-CRUMMMMMBLE!
"Ack!" Gideon steadied himself as he held onto the pipe in his hand.
The damaged part of the wall...crumbled down, revealing a hole, a path that would lead to the next room, supposedly.
"..." With the steel pipe in his hands still, Gideon walked towards the hole in the wall. Looking inside it, he sees...that it was indeed the next room over.
However, the room looked dark on the other side...
"...Ah. Okay then," Gideon murmured to himself. Putting the steel pipe down and getting his phone out to turn on its flashlight, he then positioned himself to squeeze through the hole in the wall. As soon as he shimmied through the hole in the wall, he reached through the other side, the next room over.
When he entered it, though, besides it being dark...it looked...completely different than the last room.
The room...it was just dark...and through the light shine, it looked to be bare...no furniture, no appliances, no pictures...there weren't even any walls to divide the room with.
He was very much in a large room...a large dark room...
"...Okay, I'm...gonna keep going," Gideon told himself.
Using the phone flashlight, he walked around the room...the quiet stillness not making a sound...
...Gideon kept walking...walking in the dark...until his light shined on a door.
He reached for the doorknob and opened it...
...He was back in the third hallway, but this time, he was on the other side of the gated fence.
"...Well, wonderful," Gideon mumbled.
He then glanced at the door at the end of the hall...he walked over and down the hall to reach his destination.
He stopped in front of room 212...
"...Okay...let's see what's behind this door."
Gideon got the key out and unlocked it...he opened it...
...And inside...there was nothing inside the room...except for a ladder...going up.
...Blinking at this, Gideon looked up at where the ladder was going.
"...Well. I've seen everything now," Gideon muttered.
So he approached the ladder, getting behind it as he was about to climb up. Before he did, he squinted up at the hole on the ceiling, looking up to see that a flickering light was illuminating in the room above him.
"...Okay. Let's go," Gideon said in resolve.
He climbed the ladder step by step...going up...
...when he reached the top of the ladder, he was in the other room above him, the third floor.
He got on the floor and stood there to observe the room he was in.
...The room was the exact same size as the room below...and it also didn't have anything inside it as well. Just a barren room...that had an overhead light flickering.
"..." Gideon then looked at the door that was in front of him.
...Alright...I probably should continue on forward.
Narrowing his eyes, he suddenly felt determination coursing through his veins.
...That's right...I have to find Mabel...this is all for Mabel...
Before he took two steps forward...
...the door opened!
Gideon gasped...and he then blinked…
The person that came through that door looked like...
"...Wha...wait, you're-"
"Gideon!?" said the shocked voice of the person. He too was also blinking, his eyes widened in surprise.
"...Dipper!?" Gideon exclaimed, his eyes also widening in shock.
