HEYA, FOLKS! KAMENCJ HERE AGAIN WITH ANOTHER CHAPTER OF REVAMPED TIMELINE! HERE, THE GANG WILL BE GOING THROUGH MT. MOON, MEETING SOMEONE IN CERULEAN CITY, THEN DOING TO THE GYM IN CERULEAN CITY! WE WILL ALSO HAVE A REUNION WITH ANOTHER ADVENTURES CHARACTER, AND I DON'T JUST MEAN POKEMON! NOW THEN, LET'S GET TO READING! HENSHIN!
POKEMON THE REVAMPED TIMELINE: MT. MOONSCEPADES, RIVAL REMINDER, AND COUSIN CHAOS!
She had to escape, she just had to! Some madman named Kodai. He wanted to use her to make illusions of the 3 Johto Beasts and regain his powers to see into the future. She couldn't let this happen! He tried capturing her son, forgetting how special both she and her son's species were at Illusions. He may have those cancellers, but he couldn't see through acting!
When they broke out, she and her son found themselves near a mountain. Thankfully, there was a sign nearby that told them that they were near Mt. Moon.
They were in Kanto.
Fantastic.
Now if only she could get to a boat or figure out a way to stop this madman. Human help? Probably not. She had met a kind soul named Riley who had a Lucario. If she met a similar human, she MIGHT be inclined to believe he was there to help.
Until then, all she could do was run with her adopted son.
"Now, remember. When you do this technique, you need to not only be able to tell where your opponent is, but also know which way is up. Trust me, lost my sense of direction couple of times." Sylveon then looked at Pikachu annoyed.
"I was a dancer before I met Serena, remember? I think I can understand the basics of this technique!"
"It's a bit different when you're wearing a dress." Pikachu then ducked as Sylveon tried to take a swipe at him with her feelers.
If you're wondering what's going on, the group has been traveling to Mt. Moon to continue their quest.
If you're wondering why they're not flying, it's because they must go THROUGH MT. Moon to get Brock's Crobat back. Also, Serena wanted to see if she could catch a Clefairy.
Ash also was not sure WHERE Mt. Moon Green's old friends were. Looking at the list, he had a feeling it was either Jiggly, her Wigglytuff, or Clefy, her Clefable. He needed to prove to her that he was not lying.
Right now, they were taking a break. Ash was reading a book from Sir Aaron on the properties of Aura, to see if it explained why Beedrill Mega Evolved without a Keystone.
Lucario was sparing with Greninja, learning Ice Punch from him. He was also trying to learn Close Combat and Blaze KICK. They would eventually learn Dark Pulse and Shadow Claw. Lucario also was interested in learning Extreme Speed from Pikachu.
If he could stop wasting time teaching Sylveon Counter Shield.
Speaking of Serena was currently working with her Rattata, Freya, and Fearow on Performance routines. Pidgeot also helped with Fearow and making sure he had better control of his body, given how he might have to change speeds and direction at the slightest moment.
Riolu was out and had somehow learned the egg moves Bullet Punch and Quick Circle. Right now, she was also learning how to control her Aura Sphere in the air, to help with future Performances.
Meanwhile, Braixen was practicing her fire techniques. Sure, she had known Mystical Fire before the reset, but Braixen in general didn't have the necessary fire storage (as she put it) to create the Mystical Fire.
Even as a Delphox, it takes quite a lot of time and effort to generate the amount of Psychic energy to control the move.
With Ash's other Pokémon currently out, Butterfree was sparring with Beedrill. After the whole fiasco during the Cameran Tournament, Beedrill was afraid of his Mega Stone, and wanted to make sure that he didn't have it happen again. Butterfree was teaching him some useful moves, including Venoshock and Silver Wind. Those would be useful once he got whatever it was down.
Brock was busy cooking food, while Misty was busy getting Chinchou and Cloyster some new tricks, such as Cloyster's shell being extremely tough and able to tank Electric attacks very effectively. Starmie and Staryu were sparring with each other, since Staryu stayed with Misty longer than Starmie. In fact, Staryu was able to help Starmie learn Psybeam and Psychic. Starmie was having trouble with Psycho Cut though.
Ash then looked up as he saw Fearow start circling around Serena, though he didn't get up in worry. He wasn't moving around fast enough for her to be caught up in a tornado. She then started floating up, and he quickly went back to the book, since Serena got some practice and practically floating above him. He then saw something that might have been the cause of Beedrill's rampage.
"Hey Beedrill!" He called up to it as he got up over to them. Both Butterfree and Beedrill stopped and floated down to him.
"I think I know what happened." Beedrill gave him his utmost attention.
"It seems that for Aura users, they can activate Mega Evolution without the need of a Keystone, but it's not recommended. As you saw during the tournament, we were not ready to even use it, but when you synchronized your feelings with mine, it unintentionally activated the Mega Evolution. Unlike a Keystone induced one, it's harder to ignore your base instincts when it happens. I also think our bond was not as good as it could get, and that also attributed to why you went out of control." Beedrill nodded sadly, not wanting that to happen again. Ash then knelt to Beedrill's level.
"I am willing to help no matter what, though. We can get through this together." Beedrill then looked up hopeful. Butterfree then patted his back.
"Trust me, if anyone is going to have the bond to make this happen, it's Ash. He often worked with us during our training, so once we get, ya some better moves, he will start the physical part of the training!" Butterfree then turned to Ash.
"By the by, have you tested out Pidgeot's Mega Evolution?" Pidgeot then landed near him with an expectant look.
"Gonna need to make sure we still have a great bond first. Once you're in that form, there are only 2 ways to get out. Knockout, or returned to the ball. And given the power, the former is unlikely to work." Pidgeot lowered her head in disappointment but didn't get angry with Ash as he did have a point. She only just reunited with him and learned of this. Of course, they couldn't work with it right now.
After they ate and returned everyone except Pikachu and Sylveon to their balls, they began to head to Mt. Moon.
"So why is the aura induced Mega Evolution not recommended Ash?" Misty couldn't help but ask.
"According to Sir Aaron, that form is called the Berserk Bond Evolution. A slight cross between the Bond Phenomenon and Mega Evolution. It's more Powerful than a regular Mega Evolution, but the Pokémon also goes through a bit of Primal Revision. It loses its sense of reality and can't tell friend from foe." Misty then looked at her Gyaradosite.
"Why do they need a great bond?" Brock then turned to her bringing out his Keystone Necklace.
"When a Pokémon undergoes Mega Evolution, the new form basically is extremely painful. So painful, in fact, that the Pokémon loses its sanity and goes berserk. The Bond acts as a bit of an anchor. When they undergo it with the trainer, the trainer basically opens their heart up to the Pokémon and helps take a lot of the pain off them." Ash then brought his wrist up, showing his Keystone.
"Aside that, Keystone's only generate the necessary amounts. Aura induced ones, there's a problem of feeding too much energy and basically giving them so much power, that they turn into a husk, still alive, but their mind is broken." Misty then looked saddened at that.
"So, basically, I need to make sure I still have that bond with Gyarados before I can see you do this Bond Phenomenon, I hear so much about." Ash then smiled at Misty.
"If you can't get it in time for the Gym Battle, then we'll wait until you do and then I'll fight you wherever and whenever you want." Misty then smiled at that.
With that, they were about to arrive at the entrance to Mt. Moon when Ash sensed something.
Quickly closing his eyes, he whirled around, his Lucario standing by his side. He saw two purple auras heading straight for them. Normally he would wait until he saw who they were.
If the Aura also didn't show partial red.
Hostile, but because they were being chased.
He quickly bent down and got ready when a black blur leapt from the bushes.
While they did avoid him for the most part, he was successful in touching them. He then shot straight up, getting into a battle position while Lucario stood at the ready.
"All right, I didn't have time to see who you were, so sorry I just gave you your memories, but we can – "
"Ash? Brock?" A tiny, mischievous voice asked as Ash whirled around to see …
The Zoroark and Zorua that he had saved during his time in Crown City. The Zoroark was looking at him with widened but cautious eyes. The Zorua looked very excited at seeing Ash again. He was about to go over and talk, when he and Lucario looked behind them, and recognized the auras of those who were evil.
"Is he after you?" Zoroark nodded.
"Quickly! Follow us into Mt. Moon!" Lucario shouted to them as they all ran for the cave opening. Zoroark was surprised to see a Lucario here, knowing Ash didn't have one last time they met, but knew that he was trustworthy as a Lucario would never stay with an evil person. She quickly joined them as they got into the cave system.
"Status report."
"Zoroark and Zorua have met 4 Trainers. One of them has a Lucario." The man nodded and looked at the footage. For some reason, when that boy touched Zoroark and Zorua, they seemed to trust him almost immediately.
"Run a trace on them. Don't lose them. If they go into the caves, alert me. I will then go after them myself."
"As you wish, Kodai." With that, the grunt left. He then looked forward at the screen and closed his eyes.
His future sights may be waning, but he could still use them.
After a run in with some Zubat, which THANKFULLY had Brock's Crobat there, they found themselves in a tunnel.
"OK, Ash. What has you so frightened?" Serena asked as she kept Zoroark healthy with the Berries they had gotten so far, given how thin she looked.
"If I'm right about who is chasing these two, we might have to try and figure out a way to block his future visions. That man is named Kodai, and he basically used Zoroark's illusions to frame the Johto Beasts. We managed to stop him as his vision showed him winning, but that it was an illusion, and he never noticed his illusion canceler was broken." Brock then had a nervous look, which partially surprised Crobat.
"Jerk can see the possible futures with that sight of his. Meaning he might already be waiting up top or near one of the exits waiting for us! If only we had a Psychic type with us or a way to destroy those illusion cancellers." Ash grunted, knowing Brock was right. Right now, they were boxed in a mountain. Aura might help, but it might not be enough to stop him from seeing the potential future.
Wait.
POTENTIAL futures?
He could see all POTENTIAL futures, right?
THAT'S IT!
"I have an idea!" He declared, shocking everyone. Zorua looked excited.
"How do we stop him from seeing into the future!?" he asked excitedly.
"We don't!"
Cue anime fall.
"SERIOUSLY!?" They all yelled, then noticed that Greninja, with what little of the mouth could be seen, was smirking.
"We don't have any way of BLOCKING the visions, but what if all the potential futures suddenly, came all at once?" he asked as he then peered down the corridor.
Everyone looked at what he was looking at and smirked.
Well, it was strange, but somehow this ASH KETCHUM knew he was going to be found or somehow knew Kodai could see into the future.
When he and his men arrived at the summit of Mt. Moon, he and his men were shocked to see Ash and his friends around a massive blue boulder, just standing there.
"I believe you know what I want in this case." Ash nodded, and Zorua and Zoroark walked out of the shadows.
"Good. Now just hand them over to us, and we shall leave you b- "He was cut off when a pink fairy like Pokémon suddenly jumped out of the shadows. Then an even bigger version of it did as well.
And then more appeared.
And then more appeared in the caves above them.
Kodai and his men suddenly realized they were surrounded. He quickly pressed the illusion canceller, but that made it clear that all these Pokémon were real and not illusions.
"You can have them, if you can figure out what move these Clefairy and Clefable are about to use." Ash said with a cocky smirk, as the Clefairy and Clefable suddenly put their fingers up in the air and started wiggling them back and forth.
Kodai just smirked.
"Very well. It should be easy since all I must do is – GRAAAHHH!" Unfortunately, when Kodai attempted to use his visions, instead of one appearing, a million suddenly began flooding his mind. And that was all he could feel for a while.
"Thank you, Metronome." Ash whispered as he saw Kodai reel in pain from the number of visions he was getting.
Because of how random Metronome was, Kodai not only couldn't reliably predict what moves they would get, it also meant they were practically calling on the entire ROSTER of known Pokémon moves. And given the amount of Clefairy living on Mt. Moon, safe to safe that Kodai had to be having at least a million visions right now.
And thankfully, the Clefairy and Clefable knew where to aim.
Those who rolled a precise shot move, they aimed for the illusion cancellers on the wrists, while those that had moves that would cause explosions aimed for the area around them, corralling them and making them unable to spread out.
"Retreat! All personnel, fall back! No one is to stay!" With that, the grunts grabbed the twitching body of their boss, and booked it. The Metronome stopped and Ash held a hand up in the air, high fiving the Clefairy that they had encountered early, and had led them up here and agreed to help.
"Thanks for the help!"
"Clefairy!" was what everyone else heard, since only Ash could understand Pokémon through his own right now. Zoroark and Zorua then began to walk over to Ash.
"Thanks Ash! If only we had Clefairy in Sinnoh at the time!" Ash then laughed.
"So, do you guys need us to get you to a ship or anything?" Zorua then walked up to him and sat down.
"Actually, I was wondering if I could join you on your journey." Ash looked at Zorua in shock.
"Are you sure?" Zorua then grabbed a Pokéball and went inside it.
Ash just looked at the ball and shrugged.
"Well, looks like you have another student, Greninja." Greninja shrugged, then thumbed over at Serena who was talking to the Clefairy who had led them here and helped coordinate the attack.
"So, is it interested in joining you for Performances?" Serena noticed Ash now, and then the Clefairy walked up to him excitedly.
"Actually, while it wants to join me for that, it also seems interested in taking on the Gyms as well. Is there a way we can share him?" At that, Ash pulled out Dexter.
"IT IS INDEED POSSIBLE; HOWEVER, YOU MUST LET PROFESSOR OAK KNOW AT THE NEXT POKECENTER, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE ACCUSED OF STEALING." Ash nodded and pulled out a Love Ball and held it in front of the Clefairy. Clefairy smiled and tapped the button, allowing himself to be caught.
"NOW THEN, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET MORE LOVER MON, IS THAT ALL WE NEED TO DO HERE IN MT. MOON?" Dexter cheeky asked.
"No. Don't forget they need to see if at least one of Green's Pokémon are here, you outdated reject."
"PUT IT IN YOUR RAM, YA OVERBLOWN CIRCUIT BOARD!" Quickly, Ash and Serena put them on mute so that the shouting match was not heard. He then brought out the Clefairy they had just captured.
"Do you know if there are any Clefable or Wigglytuff around here named Clefy and Jiggly?" He did not expect the reaction he would get from the Clefairy.
Given how it now sported a terrified expression the moment he said those names.
"OK, I had no idea we would have to climb something here!" Ash said as he and Pikachu were climbing a cliff to get to a cave that was on the side of the mountain.
Pidgeot was right under him just in case he slipped. Serena offered to go with him, but he said no as she wasn't ready to do it and the fact that if either of them was here, too many humans might set them off.
He then saw the opening and began to move towards it. Slowly. As he didn't want them to think it was a poacher or Rocket goon. He then got to the opening and moved his head inside.
And then ducked a Moon Blast coming right for his head. When he moved it up again, he saw a particularly angry looking Clefable and Wigglytuff glaring at him.
"Before you fire another blast at me, I'm just here to talk." The Pokémon continued glaring but made a motion for him to come into the cave.
Ash quickly pulled himself up into the cave, but kept his distance given the deadly glare they were giving him.
"CLEF! CLAFABLE CLEFA!" Ash quickly turned his head to Pikachu.
"He asked why you look so much like Red and what you are doing here." Ash then nodded and turned his head towards them.
"That would be because I'm his son." He then ducked some incoming attacks.
"I'M NOT FINISHED!" He shouted which made them stay their hands for the time being.
"My mother is Green." That got their attention. Even they knew that someone wouldn't make that up.
"I can give you her location, but it's up to you two to believe me or not and if you want to reunite right now. I'm currently traveling on my own journey, but I'm keeping an eye out for your friends and Dad's. Here." He then handed Clefy a sheet of paper.
"That's our address. Remember, she will look different unless she takes off her scrunchie." Clefy looked at Ash, then at the sheet of paper, then back at Ash. He then turned to Jiggly. She looked very contemplative but nodded and turned to Ash with a stern look.
"Wiggly. Tuff wiggly Wigglytuff!" She said pointing a paw at him and then drawing a line like how one puts a finger on their throat to mean death. Pikachu then turned to Ash, hoping he didn't have to translate.
"Don't worry. I am not lying, and I plan on running into everyone else." Wiggly nodded and then began to inflate. Taking the hint, Ash leapt onto Pidgeot, as Jiggly then floated out of the cave with Clefy on her head.
Ash watched his mother's old friends start floating over to Pallet Town, then flew back to where his friends were.
While Ash had gone to look for Clefy and Jiggly, Serena was practicing a bit for Showcases, since some Showcases had rocky terrain.
Unbeknownst to her, Zoroark was watching from some bushes. She had given her adopted Zorua permission to leave her, since while she knew powerful tricks and Night Daze, she wasn't as powerful as Zorua believed her to be. She didn't like fighting for sport or trainers unless it's a life-or-death situation.
Serena was a different story.
She instead brought out the beauty of Pokémon moves, didn't force them to learn attack moves and instead performed with her Pokémon inside said moves.
She also acted a bit like Ash in that some of the uses were unorthodox, such as Fearow's Drill Run being used in the air as Sylveon spun around, enhancing the reach of Fairy Wind and expanding it to lift her into the air as it surrounded Fearow.
Then, Rattata would use Quick Attack to launch into the air and use Super Fang to bite down on some Aura Spheres the Riolu had thrown, but instead of getting hurt, it created a beautiful shower of sparks.
"Alright everyone! That's enough training for right now. Take a good long rest." With that, she withdrew them all except for Braixen and Sylveon. Serena then turned around and saw Zoroark staring at her.
"Everything OK, Zoroark?" Zoroark then walked up to her and pointed at one of her Pokéballs.
"YOU want to join me?" Nod.
"OK, but first some ground rules in your power. No using your illusions to make things look better than they are. Also no using it to cheat the results or tricking people. I want to win with you as a partner and for our own skill, not because an illusion says otherwise." Zoroark took it in and smiled. Glad to hear her illusions were only to enhance not the main attraction. She nodded and Serena held out the ball.
Zoroark then hit the button and allowed herself to get captured.
"Welcome to the family." She said before the Pokéball zapped to her backpack, going straight to the Bag PC. She then saw Ash landing nearby.
"Saw everything about Zoroark. Congrats, Serena." She smiled and saw a shape in the sky flying towards Pallet Town.
"We ready?" Brock, who had been catching Crobat back up to speed, nodded, while Misty was contemplating the armor piece, she had gotten for Gyarados.
Brock then tapped Misty on the shoulder, bringing her back to reality.
"Ready." She spoke.
"If you want, I could remind him and then wait a bit before we fight." Misty then nervously smiled.
"Thanks, but I just got a heads up from my sister's. Someone is there and I'm worried that she might screw up our plans on you challenging me."
"Then here's what I'll do. I will use Zorua and Greninja in my battle with you. I will think up another team to take on this person that your worried about." Misty smiled and nodded.
"Alright then. Let's get moving." While they began walking to Cerulean, Serena wondered why Misty was nervous about who was in Cerulean that made her worried about the Gym battle.
Everyone had entered the city, then split up. Ash and Misty had gone in a back way of the gym to try and find her Magikarp and remind him of the old timeline. Brock had gone off to a Farmer's market that was going on today to get some medical supplies and breeder supplies, as well as human food.
Serena then found a great spot in the center of town near a fountain and saw it was the perfect place to continue practicing Showcase routines.
With her practice spot picked, she brought out Braixen, Sylveon, Zoroark, Fearow, Freya and Riolu.
"OK, everyone! We got some time to kill and some routines to see if they work! I'll be back once I switch into my Showcase outfit. And we'll continue until Ash sends a message saying he is ready for his gym battle!" Everyone cheered. Then Sylveon walked up to her while everyone went about checking their currently known moves.
"So, are you going to copy Dawn and cheer for Ash in your Showcase dress?" Serena blushed at that.
But did not deny it.
(Three hours later…)
The work on the routines had been going well. Rattata had figured out how to bite the Aura Sphere more efficiently and then send the sparks into a Dark Pulse that Zoroark had just learned.
Braixen had just figured out a combo with Freya and Sylveon where her Fire Blast would mix with Fairy Wind before Freya's Ice Beam froze it into the Kanji symbol for Fire then melted into the shape of Ice.
Serena had been dancing around them, making sure they could still do it even when she was on stage with them. They had also figured out how to use the soles of her Showcase shoes to give out orders, since shouting could ruin the Showcase. They figured out how to make her shoes give out a specific sound for a specific order.
It would need refinement since they wouldn't be performing on concrete or grass, but it was a start.
They had just finished the current routine and were about to take a break.
When someone showed up that she didn't want to see again for a bit.
"Ah, the ever-beautiful Serena is putting on a show for me."
Serena quickly looked behind her to see …
Gary.
And Miette was looking annoyed as well.
Gary could not believe his luck!
Serena was alone in an absolutely lovely dress, practicing some kind of spectacle with her Pokémon.
Some of which he couldn't recognize, but that didn't matter.
And he didn't see Ash anywhere.
Now was his chance to try and convince her to stop pursuing Ash and be with a champion like him!
"So, were you practicing a routine for when you, me and our Pokémon are married?" he asked as he tried to put an arm around her.
Serena, despite being in a dress, spun around him.
"Sorry, but no. Ash has already been more attentive to me than you ever could be." Gary growled.
"Yeah right. Like he would see the new dress you bought for yourself to see him! He's too dense!" Serena then glared at him, and some of his courage faded away.
"ASH got me this dress! And I don't intend to just fall for anyone else!" The blue-haired girl that happened to be there when they started their journey and just happened to be in the area then got in his face.
"Do you really think a CHAMPION would act this way!? If anything, it's making you look like an absolute BUFOON!" Gary just growled at this girl. Who was she to tell him what a champion acted like!? She is practicing the same thing that Serena was doing, but Serena was so much better at it!
"No, YOU listen to ME! I am the Grandson of Professor Oak! I know more about Pokémon than you or ASH will ever know! In fact, YOU would make the perfect wife for him!" The girl looked at him in shock, and then began crying. Gary closed his eyes and gave his trademark smirk.
"Soon, Serena, you will realize just how right I am, and how you shouldn't have been friends with this piece of filth! We shall be the ultimate power couple in Kanto and Kalos! We shall – "
WHA KRACK!
The next thing that entered his mind, besides certain pain in the Pokeballer region, was that he had to stop acting like this around his best friend Ash.
And the fact that he just kicked him there.
Also, those memories seemed to be flooding his mind.
Of when he had stopped being such a jerk and became quite the nice guy.
His current self tried to fight off the changes, but deep down, the REAL Gary Oak began to emerge.
He just wished Ash hadn't kicked him down there.
Oh, that felt so satisfying.
Ash had just set Misty on the path with her Gyarados, though he wasn't the one to remind it, but he would tell Serena when he saw her.
Then he saw Gary start trying to woo Serena.
Thankfully, what Gary didn't notice was that Serena's Zoroark had cast an illusion while Serena and Miette moved away from him silently, him being unable to tell reality from illusion.
He then saw them snicker, though Miette also looked a bit hurtful from the things Gary had said, but having noticed Ash walking over to them, and the Illusion protecting bystanders from seeing what was happening.
So, he walked up to Gary from behind.
And kicked him.
In a very sensitive area.
HARD.
Thankfully, the fact that the pain and his memories coming back forced his mind from who he was currently, it caused his much better personality to come out much faster.
Once Ash saw the reminder being done with him, he then leaned over.
"Now then Gary, do you remember everything?" Gary raised his hand with one finger pointing at Ash.
"Did you have to kick me so hard down there?" he asked in a rather high-pitched voice, while Ash shrugged.
"Given how you were insulting a good friend of Serena, trying to hit on her constantly, AND the fact that at this time you were being an absolute jerk, I was wanting to give you the chance back in Cameran, but the security cameras would have thought I had drugged you or something." Gary again raised his hand pointing at Ash.
"Fair enough. And given what I did there, that is a fair trade, minus the pain." He squeaked out, still balled over in pain.
"OK, what happened here?" A voice called out, as Ash whirled around to see who was talking.
He did not expect to see this guy this soon.
It was a man with a scarf that looked to be very fluffy. He wore almost all black and his expression looked like one of unimpressed.
'Huh. Alain never told me that he had traveled through Kanto. Well, can't miss this opportunity. Greninja would Shuriken my head off if I did.' Alain was clearly waiting for a response.
"Oh, nothing Alain. Just getting my old rival his memories back, How's Mairin and Chespie?" Alain was taken aback, something Ash was expecting.
"OK, kid. How do you know me in that amount of detail when I never met you." Ash then smirked at the rival who he got cheated out of fighting in the master's 8.
"Because this isn't the first time, we met at all. You joined an evil team to try and keep Sycamore safe, but they used that and Mairin's Chespie as blackmail material without actually doing the usual blackmail shtick. I can give you back your memories of the original timeline, but only if you want to." He then held out his hand, as Alain stared at it. He then began to turn around.
"It's not that I don't believe you, but if what your saying is true, I wish for Mairin to – "
"ALAIN!"
"Ah. Never mind. She's here." A girl with red hair and a green outfit came running over to him.
"Sorry, saw a girl with a Gyarados that had a stone on its neck. Thought it was going to Mega Evolve, but …" She trailed off as a hand was offered to her.
"Um, what's going on here?" Alain then got his hand ready to grab Ash's.
"This kid apparently knows who we are. And he's saying he can give us our memories back of the old timeline. Given how much he seems to know, I was going to accept." Mairin thought about it and shrugged. Then grabbed the hand that was offered to her, same as Alain.
Then the headaches occurred.
Not the bad kind but getting them back definitely hurt.
"Well, at least you weren't lying, Ash." Alain finally said as his memories had stopped fighting each other.
"Yeah. Question, though. Why didn't you tell me that you had come to Kanto before?" Mairin finally stood and released Chespie from its ball.
"We didn't. Here, Sycamore is still in the beginnings of Mega Evolution research. However, at a tournament at Cameran Castle, a Beedrill was reported to have suddenly changed, and its trainer said Mega Evolution. Do you know anything about that, Ash?" Mairin explained and inquired. Ash then sighed, pulled out a ball and released Beedrill.
"Yeah, I do. Because that was me. However, I didn't use a Keystone." Alain and Mairin then looked at Ash shocked.
"But how did you activate it." Ash sighed, then helped Gary who was finally not in pain.
"Let's find a place to sit down, I got a lot to explain to everyone."
(DURING THE INTERLUDE BEFORE ALAIN ARRIVED)
"WOW. Gotta love Zoroark illusions." Miette commented.
"Yup and my boyfriend is about to remind h." Serena said, then realized something as she had her eyes closed right now due to just not wanting to SEE the pain Gary was going to be in.
Miette had a purple glow around her. Remembering how Ash said that the ones he could remind had a purple glowing Aura around them, she then wondered why she could remind Miette.
Deciding to do it while being friendly, she slapped Miette's shoulder as she began laughing at where Ash kicked as he reminded Gary of the original timeline.
Miette was partially laughing, though not as much given her own tiny crush on Gary.
Who she now realized she had never met before.
And the fact that She was in Kanto and not Kalos.
Alongside never having a Bulbasaur ever.
Despite her wanting one in the original timeline, it just never came up.
And finally, she herself was in Kanto, good friends with Serena, and had new memories.
She then slowly turned her head over to Serena.
"You got a lot of explaining to do." Serena smirked and motioned at Ash.
"I think my BOYFRIEND can tell you more. He's about to explain everything to some old friends from Kalos and Gary, your crush wushy." Miette blushed at the joke Serena just did. Then she smirked at her.
"So, you finally spit it out?" Instead of blushing, Serena then took a cocky grin.
"HE kissed ME to give me my memories back." Miette's jaw was going to need surgery.
Given how it slammed straight into the ground.
(ONE EXPLANATION LATER)
"So, that's about the size of it." With that, Ash had finished the explanation. Alain and Mairin didn't look happy, Miette had tears in her eyes because of what happened to Serena's father, and Gary nodded his head, learning the situation with Serena's father, Ash's dad and just how bad it could be.
"So, the man that had made me join Team Flare …." Alain said with clear tranquil fury in his voice.
"Is the one who Sycamore told me about and what inspired me to become a Mega Evolution trainer?" Ash nodded solemnly.
"Is there a way for us to get Lysandre out of X?" Ash then looked at Alain with such a serious gaze, that Alain was partially set back.
"Yes, but I could use your help. You've worked with Lysandre. As a mole if you're able." Alain put a hand onto his chin, then smirked.
"If it means getting an inspiration back, then absolutely. How long do we have?"
"Till the first day I arrived in Kalos. So, several years, but we might not get a second chance. So please, help as much as you can." Alain nodded, then looked at Mairin.
"Chespie had been exposed to some Mega Evolution energy in the original timeline, right?" Mairin nodded, then realized what he was asking.
"Yeah, Chespie could instead pull an act that makes it seem like he was affected. But how to make Lysandre go to you?" Ash then smirked.
"Did you have any of the team you had in Kalos when we met?" Alain thought about it, then brought out 3 Pokéballs. He threw them …
And a Tyranitar, Charizard and Metagross appeared, clearly confused as to what was going on.
"These were who I had by this time. Can you remind my other friends for when I find them?" Ash smiled then nodded.
"The ones I fought in the Kalos League? Probably. However, your Malamar and Chesnaught? You might be able to remind them yourself if you had as great of a bond as I did. Also, got something." With that, Ash brought out the sack he had found in Cameran Castle and began fishing for something.
He then brought out a Keystone, and a Charizardite X. Alain was in shock at seeing them. Then, Ash spun them around, revealing the name "Alain" was etched into each one.
"I know that these were the gifts from Lysandre in the original timeline, but I trust you enough to help us. They are yours if you want them." Alain stared at them, then smirked and grabbed them.
"Thanks. Stings a little that you don't have Greninja anymore, but you can count on me. I'm going to call the professor later and talk with him about taking on the Kanto gyms." Ash nodded, then smirked.
"Oh, I have Greninja, but he's currently waiting for the perfect opportunity to get the drop on Braixen." At that, Braixen suddenly started looking around, up in the air and down on the ground. Alain, Miette, Gary, and Mairin were taken aback.
"Um, did Braixen do something to Greninja?" Ash shook his head.
"No, it's his way of teasing her." Everyone was confused, then saw something going on with Braixen's shadow. Braixen turned around just in time …
Only to once again get her nose bobbed by Greninja who then speedily dropped back into shadows. Braixen quickly began lighting her stick, waving it around to see where Greninja was.
Only to get grabbed from behind AGAIN and pulled up a tree.
"DAMMIT, GRENINJA! I WILL GET YOU ONE DAAAAAaaaayyyyyyyyy!" Ash could hear as she got pulled up by Greninja.
"Huh. As far as I know, Greninja and Delphox are in separate Egg Groups, aren't they?" Ash nodded and shrugged.
"No clue why, but he loves doing that to Braixen. Before you go report to Sycamore, I was planning on taking a friend on for a Gym Badge. You guys want to watch?" Alain smirked and nodded.
"So, you reminded her Gyarados?" Ash then smirked again.
"It is reminded, yes, but not by me. Remember when I said Alain might be able to remind his others?"
Ash and co had made it to the front of the Cerulean Gym. Ash then jerked slightly, remembering what he had gone through the FIRST time they had been here. Serena then noticed it.
"Ash, is everything alright?" He took a deep breath.
"Yes, but Misty would share the sentiment with me. Her sisters are, shall we say, if you were obsessed with your beauty, cranked up to 11. They don't exactly care for the gym except for the Pokémon to help with their ballets and they are more inclined to just give them out." Alain then looked annoyed.
"If that's the case, I might ask your friend for a battle instead. I don't exactly like getting a badge for free."
With that, they went inside, and Ash almost did a double take.
The inside of the gym was not what he remembered it to be. Where the pool was, there was the equivalent of a maze almost on it. Ash then suddenly ran outside and then back in.
"Um, guys. I just saw that there were no shows today." Brock himself then rushed outside and came back.
"Yeah! Wasn't there a ballet the day we arrived?"
"Oh, I assure you. This is the gym, but a leader has come by and made them cancel today and currently all future plans." They all looked at a guy in a white shirt and black bowtie.
"Anyway, the Gym Leader Kasumi uses Water type Pokémon. So, Electricity to take her out, or drain her with plant Pokémon!" Everyone stared at the guy until Ash, Brock and Gary had a realization.
"Wait. Are you a Gym Guide? Since when does anyone have you guys around? Not that you aren't helpful, but the advice you gave is ... rather outdated." The Gym Guide, instead of getting angry or hurt, nodded.
"Yeah, but Kasumi isn't exactly the Gym Leader. She is the cousin of the 4 current Gym Leaders, and since the main one is out training," he then got a very angry expression, "and those three knuckleheads are more interested in Ballets, she basically felt that she had to step up. Unfortunately, I saw Daisy call the Pokémon Association, putting in a false call that she was breaking the Gym Rules." Ash then suddenly had a thought.
"Wait, her cousin that is the main Gym Leader here, it wouldn't happen to be MISTY, would it?" The Gym Guide, with widened eyes, nodded slowly. With a smirk, Ash began whispering something into his ear.
"OK. Hopefully that Gym Guide can leave soon so that we can get rid of Kasumi." A blonde-haired girl said as she talked to 2 others, one of whom was in a swimsuit.
"Excuse me, Sensational Sisters?" They all whirled around to see the Guy they had just mentioned, trying to play it off like they hadn't said anything behind his back.
"OH, John! Sorry didn't see you there. Is there something we can help you with?"
"A challenger has arrived. Given who's in charge right now, you need to get out there now." All three got very nervous.
"Give us a few to change out please." The Blonde one asked, hoping to squeeze out at the last second.
"I'm afraid not. If you're not out there in 2 minutes, I'm going to have to call the PLA. Do you understand, Daisy?" he asked, leaning right into her face. She nervously gulped.
"Crystal."
Ash had just entered the maze (less maze more platform) and then saw Lily jump off a dive board and into the water. Then began swimming to him.
He couldn't help but chuckle at what this Kasumi had done. She had basically got the three to follow orders and actually do gym challenges …
By making them grunt trainers back when that was a thing.
He beat through them quite easily.
Though that was mostly because they all only had one Pokémon each.
He also laughed up a riot when he saw that the Gym Guide had made sure they didn't have time to change.
Given the fact that Violet and Daisy had to jump off the dive boards fully clothed. And they clearly weren't very happy about it.
After 10 minutes of honestly boring fights, Ash had gotten to the platform in the back. And he then looked confused.
"YOU'RE Kasumi?" The person right in front of him looked to be an older version of Misty, however her sideways ponytail went to the left instead of right, her hair was a lighter color and she was wearing a leotard.
And right now, she seemed very annoyed with Ash.
"What? Not quite what you were expecting from a Gym Leader?" Ash immediately held up his hands defensively.
"NO, NO! Far from it! It's just … you look exactly like a girl I'm traveling with named Misty, who I thought was the Gym Leader here!" That caused her to raise her eyebrow.
"Guess you met my little cousin. Since THOSE three idiots," She said, gesturing with her thumb over at the three sisters, "Can't run this Gym worth squat, I thought I'd do her a favor and watch over the Gym while she went and became a better Gym Leader." Ash then nodded at that.
"So how are we doing this?"
"2v2. Only you can substitute. That sound fair?" Ash nodded, and Kasumi pulled out a Pokeball.
"Come out, Kingler!" Ash smiled at hearing that; he so could not wait to get his back.
A giant Red Crab landed on one of the platforms, raising its giant right pincer into the air, then froze, looking at Ash.
"Um, is everything alright, King- "Ash cut himself off as he ducked a sudden Bubble beam attack that Kingler shot at him.
"Kingler, stop! I know he looks like him, but it's just a coincidence! Even then, he didn't purposefully abandon you!" Kingler turned and glared at Kasumi, but still stood down.
'Guess this is the Krabby that was on the list he provided. Better get this over with so that Misty can fight me.' With that, he then pulled out a ball and threw it.
"Lucario! Aura Power, now!" He shouted as he released his faithful Aura partner, who landed on one of the rocks and growled, clearly ready for a fight.
"Use Crabhammer, Kingler!" Kasumi called out as Kingler then charged forward at speeds that Ash was not ready for. Lucario barely jumped out of the way as the rock was reduced to pebbles, with Kingler going on the attack once again.
"Use Bubble Beam!" A large torrent of bubbles suddenly shot out from Kingler's mouth area, connecting right with Lucario's face.
"Use Aura Sphere!" Righting himself, Lucario fired the blue sphere right into Kingler's face as the blow back from the sphere blasted Lucario onto another rock.
"Use Surf!" A massive wave then appeared under Kingler, who began to jet straight for Lucario. Lucario looked around but saw that he was stuck on the farthest rock from any of the others.
"Lucario! Use Flash Cannon and aim it at the ground!" Lucario then formed a ball of Steel Energy in his mouth and followed his command.
Kingler was shocked when not only did Lucario dodge the wave coming for him, but he also fired another Flash Cannon in his face, knocking him off the crest of the wave.
"Use Dive!" With that, Kingler faced towards the water and when he splashed down, he didn't resurface.
"Lucario! Use Aura to see where he is, then use Aura Sphere!" Lucario's eyes glowed blue as he began scanning the water. He was charging an Aura Sphere when Kingler suddenly jumped out of the water behind him, striking his back and knocking the Aura Sphere out of his paws. He was sent flying into the water, though thankfully he did surface.
"Lucario! Swim towards the nearest island! Quick!" Hearing that Lucario saw the nearest one about 10 feet away and immediately began swimming towards it.
Unfortunately, Kingler was slightly faster.
Kingler immediately slammed into Lucario's gut, and he got flung out of the water.
Ash was trying to think of something when he saw Aura appearing on Lucario's legs.
"Lucario! Use Aura on your feet and try to make yourself as buoyant as possible!" With that, Lucario tried landing as best he could.
Kingler had seen where he was going to land and had sped over there to hit Lucario again.
However, when he broke the surface, he was surprised when Lucario was gone.
And then got whacked in the back of the head.
Looking behind him, he saw Lucario RUNNING on the water at an incredible rate of speed!
"How did Lucario do that?" Serena couldn't help but ask.
"My guess, Lucario just used Extreme Speed to get the necessary speed in order to run on water. The aura he's using is giving him just enough buoyancy to where his running is like if he was running on solid ground." Gary answered her. Then noticed something going on with Lucario. And it got him worried.
'C'mon, Ash. Finish this fast. Lucario's not going to last much longer.' He mentally said, hoping Ash had seen the condition Lucario was in. Miette also noticed it.
"Hey, Serena, is Lucario supposed to be breathing that fast?" Serena took another look, and yeah, Lucario was breathing like someone put a vacuum up to his mouth.
"I don't think Lucario is used to putting this much effort into running like this."
It was becoming clear to Ash as well.
"Lucario! Get in close contact with Kingler, then do what you can to it!" Lucario bent his body to the right, angling it to where he was low enough to avoid the beam attacks.
"Kingler! Use Guillotine when they get close!" Kingler then held out his enlarged right claw, ready to strike up.
Lucario leaped at Kingler, who shot up his claw …
And grabbed nothing but an afterimage.
Lucario was now right in front of his face, as he began rapidly punching and kicking it without mercy. With one final punch, he shoved himself off Kingler, who was sent flying into the wall. Lucario, thankfully, landed on a rock island and let off a victorious howl.
From the impact crater, it was clear Kingler was out cold.
"Kingler is unable to battle! Lucario takes the first round!" The referee called out, moving an arm over to Ash's side of the battlefield.
Ash pulled out Lucario's Pokéball, but Lucario shook his head.
"Alright, Lucario. But don't push yourself to where we need hospital care." Lucario nodded and shakily took another battle stance.
"Why is Lucario not switching out? I think whatever Pokémon Kasumi is about to use could beat him by just breathing on him." Miette said, having seen the condition Lucario was in.
"One, the Lucario line are known to be quite stubborn. They often don't stop fighting until their stamina gives out. Second, Ash was going to recall Lucario, but Lucario refused. My guess, he wants to at least try to get some damage in for the next Pokémon Ash uses." Gary answered, having known Ash the second longest out of everyone here.
"Yeah, but can he get at least one attack in is the question." Brock said to the conversation.
"What do you mean, Brock?" Serena asked, curious as to what he saw.
"Lucario only JUST recently learned Extreme Speed. The problem with the move initially is that it is incredibly taxing on the stamina. Pokémon like Arcanine have an easier time with this, as the way an Arcanine sprints is a lot less taxing on the body, but Bipeds like Lucario have a harder time, due to being part Steel weighing them down and the fact that it takes a lot more energy to run on two legs. If Lucario is even able to do a hit, it's going to be quite the miracle." Alain answered, having seen this happen to other Lucario before.
Serena then stood up out of her seat.
"C'mon Ash! Don't give up on Lucario till it's over you got it!?" Brock then pulled her back down.
"Um, Serena. That's what Lucario plans to do, remember?" Serena turned red and just sat there.
Ash immediately got embarrassed when he heard Serena shout that, given the smirk Kasumi was currently giving him.
"Please don't hold this over my head." He called out to her. She smirked back at Serena, then shrugged, and pulled out a dark blue Pokéball.
"Gyrara! Front and center!" With that, a Gyrados splashed down in the water, letting out a massive Roar. Ash immediately realized it was the same Gyarados that Red had at the end of the original timeline.
He then looked at Lucario, who shakily stood once more.
"Use Aura Sphere!" At that, Lucario sent out a ball of blue energy right at the Gyarados.
"Use Iron Tail and knock it back!" With that, Gyrara's tail turned silver and dove underwater, hitting the aura sphere right back at Lucario.
Lucario leapt out of the way, though it was clear he was not going to last. Kasumi saw it and decided to finish it.
"Use Whirlpool!" The water suddenly began to spiral, and Lucario was having a hard time fighting the suction that was occurring. Just as he got pulled in …
"Use Extreme Speed and go in the direction the water is going!" Quickly reorienting himself, Lucario made his feet buoyant and began running to the left, the same way the whirlpool was spinning. Kasumi, however, smirked once more.
"Change the direction of the Whirlpool! And do it each time he gets back up!" Suddenly the water calmed down before starting to spin in a counterclockwise motion and throwing Lucario off balance. He hit the water face first before getting swept up in the current.
"Use Aura Sphere!" With that, Lucario formed the ball and fired it. Thankfully, this time it connected with the mouth area, causing Gyrara to lose control of the Whirlpool and giving Lucario enough time to become buoyant again and start running.
"Use Giga Impact!" With that, Lucario was surrounded by a dome of green energy and combined it with the speed of Extreme Speed to close the distance fast.
"Use Hyper Beam!" A ball of orange energy suddenly appeared in Gyrara's mouth. When Lucario was halfway across the field, Gyrara let it rip. The beam collided with the Giga Impact dome and a struggle began.
"C'mon, Lucario! You can do it! You can overpower it!"
"Gyrara! You're not going down without a fight, right!? THEN POUR IT ON!" With that, the Hyper Beam intensified, starting to push back the Giga Impact.
"Lucario! Try spinning like how Fearow uses Drill Run!" With that, Lucario began to do so, spreading the Hyper Beam around his body to where he then connected with Gyrara right in the mouth.
"Use Aqua Tail!" With that, Gyrara's tail struck up and connected with Lucario's body. Lucario was sent flying and splashed down.
When he floated to the top, he had swirly eyes and was not moving.
"LUCARIO IS UNABLE TO BATTLE! GYRARA WINS!" The referee called out as Ash returned Lucario to his Pokéball.
"You did great Lucario. Regain your aura and strength." He told the ball, as he then got serious as he saw Kasumi smiling.
"So, what will your last Pokémon be, Ash? I hope it's good enough to take on Gyrara here. He was training with the champion of Kanto for 10 years straight! He's not going down due to a Pikachu!" Pikachu then glared right at Kasumi.
"Ash, send me out." Was all he said as Ash nervously gulped. He didn't like doing this, but Kasumi basically just insulted Pikachu.
"Pikachu! I choose you!" he called out as Pikachu leapt onto one of the remaining islands in the pool.
"Wow, Pikachu must really be ticked if he straight up told Ash to send him out." Sylveon commented on seeing her crush basically leap off without saying anything.
"Guess Pikachu is angry at how she basically said that the Gyrados wouldn't fall to a Pikachu. If she had a Mega Stone and Gyaradosite, then I'd be inclined to believe it. However, you still don't just outright brag about how powerful a Pokémon is. It's disrespectful of a Gym Leader." Brock said, having seen Pikachu's reaction and seeing how angry Sylveon was getting.
"From what I can gather, Kasumi used to be the Gym Leader until Misty and her sisters were the right age. SO, she might be a little old school, where Gym Leaders were given a bit more freedom." Gary chimed in, having read about the updates to the rules of being a Gym Leader.
"Strange that Ash is using Pikachu, though. Doesn't he usually not rely on Type Effectiveness?" Alain asked, knowing Ash didn't exactly follow that idea.
"Given how he's waiting for Misty to challenge him, I don't think he's treating this as an actual Gym Battle, just a warmup." Serena said.
"Pikachu vs Gyrara! Battle Start!"
With that, Gyrara began with another Whirlpool, trying to suck Pikachu in.
"Pikachu! Use Extreme Speed! And combine it!" Pikachu smirked. With that, he leapt into the whirlpool, doing the same thing that Lucario had done and went with the flow.
Unlike Lucario, however, Gyrara was having a harder time changing the Whirlpool enough to where Pikachu lost his balance, given how he was no longer fighting a weakened Pokemon who had just learned a new move.
Then, Gyrara became aware of a tingle. Looking where Pikachu was currently running, it was shocked to see a massive amount of lightning coming off him.
Kasumi seemed to know what it was.
"Gyrara! It's combining Extreme Speed with Volt Tackle! Do whatever you can to stop it!" Gyrara then began swinging its tail covered in water, trying to hit Pikachu.
It worked.
Because Pikachu was focusing on not sinking, he didn't see the Aqua Tail coming straight foe him and got whacked right in the face.
While he got sent flying, the tail suddenly began speaking with electricity, which made Ash smirk.
"Pikachu! Right yourself and use Electroball!" With that, Pikachu focused on making a ball of electricity and fired it straight at Gyrara.
"Knock it back!" Gyrara turned his tail into steel and whacked it up into the air. Ash and Pikachu watched it, then had an idea.
A move he used like 2 or 5 times in Sinnoh when it happened.
"Jump and eat it!"
"What!?" Mairin, Miette, and Serena shouted as Sylveon looked horrified as Pikachu leapt into the air and had its mouth as wide as it could go.
Brock, however, just chuckled, which Alain caught. Even Gary just shook his head.
"What's he planning on doing? Won't that just hurt Pikachu?" He asked, clearly very confused as to what was going on. Brock just smirked.
"A technique he accidentally created when one of his Pokémon in Sinnoh ate an Energy Ball by chance. Question is what will happen if Pikachu eats it."
Pikachu knew what Ash was hoping to do, given what he had seen Torterra do as a Grotle back in Sinnoh.
The problem was, Grotle's mouth is bigger than an Energy Ball, while an Electroball is bigger than a Pikachu mouth.
After he used Extreme Speed to get into the air and ahead of his own attack, Pikachu stretched his mouth as wide as he could. He had to get as much space open so the ball could get in without impacting the sides of his mouth or his cheeks.
Gyrara was really confused as to what the heck the plan from this kid was.
'Jump and eat it? What is he going to do, get a draining charge for one powerful attack?' Gyrara mentally asked as he got ready for either a Hydro Pump or Hyper Beam.
When he saw Pikachu swallow the Electro Ball, a giant aura of a Pikachu appeared, made up entirely of electricity.
"Use Extreme Volt!" With that order, the aura began to charge straight for Gyrara, and he did not like the look of it.
Opting for Hyper Beam, he saw the beam collide with the head of the giant aura Pikachu, but it didn't even slow it down. He put more energy into it, but it didn't even flinch.
Gyrara closed his eyes. He knew he wouldn't be able to withstand it, but honestly?
He didn't care.
If he was going to lose, at least it was to someone like his old Master, who Kasumi had given to for the Krabby that would become her Kingler. Pikachu and everything.
Heck, the kid could almost pass for his own son, if his old friend had lived.
Though he was going to have to give Kingler a good talking to.
Once he regained consciousness from the attack that is.
When Pikachu managed to swallow the Electro Ball, He created a giant Pikachu made from electricity. However, he immediately felt the power start draining out of him, so he had to connect fast.
Utilizing Extreme Speed, he managed to use the electricity as a giant Extreme Volt and barreled straight for Gyrara. When the Hyper Beam collided, he wasn't even aware it was hitting him.
When he connected with Gyrara's head, he brought both under the water, causing a massive wave to splash down. Sylveon used Fairy Wind to block the water from splashing down on them, as Pikachu leapt up to one of the rocks.
Gyrara resurfaced.
Face down and not budging an inch.
"GYRARA IS UNABLE TO BATTLE! ASH KETCHUM WINS!" Ash then high fived his friend after he leapt back to him.
Kasumi sighed but smiled as she returned Gyrara to his Pokéball.
"Thank you Gyrara. I know it wasn't him but it was the closest we could ever get." She said as she saw Ash get off the podium, as the water began draining away, getting rid of the Electricity that had built up in it.
She then hopped off the podium and ran over to him.
"Nice work, Ash! I hope you forgive me for fighting like that, though. You remind me a lot of an old friend I once had." Ash then suddenly remembered how Flint had been confused by Misty.
"Was your old friend Red?" Kasumi then recoiled from that.
"Yeah. How did you know?"
"Your old friend Flint, or the previous Brock, told us how he forgave Misty for not being in perfect sync with Suicune," Ash began, as Kasumi's eyes grew wider, "and that she showed great bravery for answering its call for help in stopping Pryce. And he knew my father."
With that, Kasumi seemed to have her mind explode, as she then dropped the badge, she was going to give Ash.
"I … I'm sorry you lost such a great father." She said, then did a double take as Ash was beaming.
"He's alive, and I'm the son of Green as well." Kasumi then looked annoyed at that as she slapped her face.
"At least it wasn't Yellow. Where is he? I want to see him again!" Ash then looked nervous and leaned into her ear.
"Tell you after everything here. It might not be best that info be made public right now." Kasumi nodded, then bent down to pick up the badge she dropped.
"KASUMI!" A voice shouted above her, causing everyone to look up …
And see Misty glaring right at her.
"Little Cousin!?" Kasumi said, with the three sisters also surprised at her appearance. Misty leapt down off the bleachers and walked up to her cousin.
"So, you have been pretending to be me this entire time?" she asked, getting right up in Kasumi's face.
Kasumi, however, began glaring right back.
"Yeah, because these three were being rude to you, and because I will not let this Gym your mother worked tooth and nail to keep afloat drop because of them!"
"That doesn't explain why you falsified info and claimed to be me!"
"I didn't want to! I put it down as Kasumi, on the paperwork, on the sign, HECK I MADE SURE THAT THEY HAVE PHOTOGRAPHIC AND DNA RESULTS THAT SHOW WE'RE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE! THEY KEPT CALLING ME MISTY JUST LIKE THEY DID BACK WHEN YOU WERE STILL DOING THE GYM TRAINING!" The shouting match clearly would have continued …
If two of the sisters didn't suddenly start laughing, causing both Misty and Kasumi to look at Violet and Lily.
"Oh man. Our plan was perfect!" Lily laughed out loud.
"Yeah! Now Kasumi is going to be dragged away and we will oversee the Gym!" Violet cackled.
What they didn't notice was that everyone else wad looking at them either aghast or angered with that Revelation. THEY then noticed Daisy walking up to the Gym Guide.
"Sir, I did not know they had falsified info. I can give you details on us faking a phone call, as I honestly thought, despite knowing Kasumi for years, she had done that. I am willing to step down as Gym Leader as well." Both Lily and Violet looked at Daisy in shock.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME DAISY!?" Violet shouted, not comprehending the fact that they just blurted out their plan to everyone. Daisy then pointed behind them …
And it showed both Kasumi and Misty, glaring at both. With their cheeks still pressed against each other as they had been shouting in each other's faces earlier.
Then, the creepy smile came on both of their faces.
"Team up like old times on them, big cousin?"
"We want to elongate their suffering, little cousin?"
Both Violet and Lily gulped at that.
Even though Kasumi and Misty got very annoyed with each other as kids, they had better chemistry than they did with their own little sister.
And often showed it by teaming up to get revenge on them in a matter of seconds.
"Um, if it's alright with you, Misty, I'm going to go make sure my injured Pokémon are out of the way and watching while you two do your revenge whatever it is." Misty looked at him, then looked at her side at Kasumi.
"Quick version then once my fight that I promised him is over, we make these two ding-Zubats pay?" Kasumi smirked.
"Yup, though I still want to give him a badge since he beat me." Misty held up one finger.
"After I test him, Big Cousin. I didn't get to show you how much I've improved now, have I?" Kasumi saw the fire in her eyes and nodded.
"Ok, cousin. Show us how strong ya got!" Kasumi happily replied …
As she and Misty began walking towards Lily and Violet, still stuck on each other's cheek as Lily and Violet backed up in fear, only to run into a Gyarados that was glaring daggers at them alongside a Starmie.
The sisters took one look and screamed as Ash headed to the viewing entrance.
Ash had just gotten up to the top of the viewing area, when Sylveon then grabbed Pikachu off his shoulder.
Pikachu did not appreciate this.
"C'MON, SYLVEON! I didn't get hurt that badly, and if anything, I gave my system a needed jolt!" Sylveon, however, did not buy it.
"Yeah, after you used Extreme Speed and had to stretch your mouth wider than it's supposed to! Fear not, Darling Pika Pika. You are in good hands!" Pikachu then blushed at the nickname and saw Ash smirking.
"Don't YOU start that with me, Ash! I will make sure you don't live it down!" Ash then got a VERY cocky smile and pointed at Serena …
Who was still in her Performance Dress.
Pikachu sighed, knowing what Ash was saying.
"Hey, maybe in the next temple we will find Sylveon's outfit, and you can tease her then." Pikachu then gained a smirk at that, while Sylveon broke out in a cold sweat.
"If we get it back and I'm in a Gym battle, you gonna be cheering for me like Serena is right now?"
Sylveon's blushing levels increased by 500%.
"If we get it back then yes. Otherwise, it's a no go buster!" Pikachu smirked at her, then leaned in closer to her ear.
"Whatever you say Sylvie."
Blush increased by 10000%. To where it looked like her entire body was blushing.
"Hey! Apparently, Sylveon can evolve into Flareon if given enough blushing! How do we turn her into a Jolteon?" He jokingly asked, as Sylveon's ribbons closed around his neck.
Tightly.
"LET'S SEE HOW FUNNY IT IS WHEN I TURN YOU I TO A MARILL!" And as such the choking began.
"Make sure he rests while you're doing that., Sylveon. I need him for Vermillion." Sylveon glared, but acquiesced to his request, stopping the choking, but making sure Pikachu couldn't move.
Ash then also released Lucario, who barely had any energy to stand.
"I know you wouldn't listen to me, as you only briefly met Greninja in Kalos, as such as long as someone is watching over you, you can watch the fight, understood?" Lucario begrudgingly nodded, not wanting to have a babysitter, but given his injuries, it made sense.
Serena then threw a Pokéball, releasing Zoroark, who quickly made sure Lucario was not going anywhere.
"Now that Lucario isn't going to push himself, I need your permission Zoroark." Zoroark looked at Ash, then realized what he was about to ask.
"Just don't let him get hurt too much. UNDERSTOOD?" Ash gulped but nodded. With that he took out his Pokéball and smiled.
"Get ready for your first Gym Battle." He then looked at the deep blue ball, knowing who was in it.
And headed for the battle platform again and laughed when he saw a Tentacruel dragging Lily and Violet up to the bleachers.
"The Challenger Ash Ketchum has requested a battle with Gym Leader, Misty! This will be a 2v2 battle! Ash has requested no substitutions be made! Are both ready!?" Nod.
"THEN LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"
"MISTY CALLS STARMIE!"
"ALRIGHT, ZORUA! I CHOOSE YOU!"
With that, both Pokémon appeared, Zorua landing on one of the islands while Starmie landed on one that was slightly submerged under the water.
"I would say clever there going for Type Immunity, Ash. But then again, given how young he seems, am I right to assume he doesn't know any Dark type moves?" Ash was checking Dexter, who was scanning Zorua to know what moves he knew, though it wasn't much.
Hone Claws, Fury Swipes, Taunt, and Knock Off.
Not really any offensive moves, though that would probably be because he's a baby Pokémon. All he used last time was Scratch.
However, he then smirked at seeing one of his moves. Best to let Misty start though.
"Starmie! Use Water Gun!" Starmie pointed one of its limbs at Zorua and fired a stream of water. Zorua, without needing any extra tips from Ash, leaped onto one of the rocks nearby and began jumping from rock to rock, Starmie constantly using Water Gun to try and hit it.
"Use Torment!" Suddenly, Zorua appeared right in front of Starmie, and opened his mouth slightly.
"ZOR! ZORZORZOOOOOOORRRR!" He roared right in the … well technically face of Starmie, even though it has no face.
When Zorua finished, Starmie nearly fell off the rock backing away from Zorua.
"Starmie! Use Water Gun!" But Starmie jerked violently, like it didn't want to use it.
"Seems he remembered what happened to May when she fought Harley." Brock said.
"What do you mean, Brock. What does Torment do?" Serena asked, as she hadn't been hit by that attack before.
"When Torment is used, the afflicted Pokémon can't use the same move twice in a row. Now, swapping back and forth works fine, but given how Misty was having it use Water Gun every two seconds, she needs to change her strategies." Alain said, trying to figure out what Ash's strategy was with Zorua.
"I'd say he's trying to limit what attacks Misty can do in rapid succession." Everyone nearly jumped when they heard a female electronic voice.
Coming from Gary.
"Uh, Gary. I think your Pokédex has finished its update process." Gary nervously pulled it out.
"Indeed. The process took a little longer on me as I was having to copy data from Eve. And please, call me DeeDee." The Pokédex replied while Gary was trying not to laugh.
"So, how'd ya get into your brothers laboratory?" Gary asked in a faux sciency voice.
"Not the time for jokes Gary." Miette said, though she was also laughing at the name in her head.
Mairin wasn't joining in on the conversations, as she was busy setting something up on her Holo-caster.
"Ok, signals good. Get the camera in a good position, and when they go all out, the Professor will be able to see it in all its glory." Alain saw her but did nothing to stop her setting it up.
"Anyway, my best guess is that Ash is trying to set something up that he doesn't want interrupted by Misty. Hence, he used Torment to limit her attack options while he sets it up." DeeDee continued as everyone turned their attention back to the battlefield.
"Use Rapid Spin, Starmie!" Misty called out, causing Starmie to turn horizontal and spin directly at Zorua.
"Jump and use Hone claws!" Zorua jumped to another rock, and then began scratching it.
"Water Gun!"
"Repeat!" Zorua again dodged the water and sharpened his claws on the rock.
"Use Rapid Spin! Soak the rocks!" Instead of trying to directly attack Zorua, Starmie made a mini-360-degree tsunami.
"Use Hone Claw in the air!" This time, when Zorua jumped, he began sharpening his claws on each other, to the point a glint came off them.
Ash hoped it was enough.
"Use Fury Swipes!" With that, Zorua bounded off the rock he landed on, and began furiously swiping at Starmie's gem.
Everyone was surprised when Starmie was flung back after the fifth swipe.
"What just happened? How did Zorua knock Starmie back like that with Fury Swipes!?" Serena asked, shocked at how the infant Zorua managed to deal damage equivalent of a Focus Punch.
"When a Pokémon uses Hone Claws, they also increase their focus, or in rookie terms, increase their accuracy alongside powering up their sharpness if they use claws." Alain answered. His Weavile using a similar strategy a couple times before.
"Given how inaccurate Fury Swipes tend to be, that's a smart move from Ash. Especially since Zorua doesn't know any offensive Dark type moves yet." Brock added on, but knew Misty would try to have Starmie take Zorua with it if it got knocked out.
Despite the surprise power behind the Fury Swipes, Starmie stood up, albeit very shakily.
Misty thought about possible ways to knock out Zorua before Gyarados came put.
She didn't want to summon him only to take a hit and be weak to whatever Ash's Greninja had up its sleeve.
If only she could put a status effect into play.
Wait. THAT move. Scald. Doesn't it have a chance to?
YES!
"STARMIE! USE SCALD!" Suddenly, from the tip of Starmie's top came a white liquid connecting with Zorua's stomach, launching him back onto the platform.
"Zorua! You OK!?" Zorua stood up with a confident expression until he suddenly was covered in flames.
"Yes! Starmie! Alternate between Water Gun and Brine!" Misty called out, taking Torment into account.
"Zorua! Keep using Fury swipes!" Zorua jumped around, doing his best to avoid the attacks.
Which wasn't easy as most of the rocks were slippery now, though he managed thanks to Hone Claws keeping his claws sharp enough to get extra traction digging into the rocks, though he still got hurt by the Burn.
It was clear he was wearing Starmie down though. As Starmie's center gem began to blink slowly.
"STARMIE! USE BRINE!" Suddenly a massive torrent of water appeared from Starmie's waterfront. When it connected with Zorua, it flashed pink for a second before it carried him across the field, slamming into the wall.
Thankfully there was a rock beneath him, so he didn't have to swim.
"OK! WHAT HAPPENED THERE!?" Miette practically shouted.
"When a Pokémon uses Brine, if it's halfway through its stamina, Brine gets double the power." Gary answered, his own Blastoise sometimes combining it with Torrent.
"Would explain why she didn't have it use Recover the entire match." Brock said, realizing why she chose not to use it despite wanting to knock them both out.
He then noticed that Zorua was glowing with Dark energy.
"But I don't think this particular battle is going to continue for very long."
Ash also saw Zorua start gathering energy, but he couldn't tell what it was.
Misty also saw it and hurried to beat it.
"USE HYDRO PUMP!" With that, a massive plume of water was ejected put the top of Starmie, heading straight for Zorua.
Zorua didn't flinch at the water coming for him. Instead, he raised his paws into the air, and slammed them down on the rock.
A wave of Dark energy suddenly sprang up, traveling towards Starmie.
The Hydro Pump cut over it, but it regained its shape cutting off the tail end.
Zorua was sent flying into the air, though a miracle occurred as he yet again landed on another island.
Starmie was also sent flying, but it flew past Misty, slamming into the wall behind her. Misty turned around …
And saw Starmie's center gem blinking rapidly, indicating that it was knocked out.
Zorua began to stand up with a triumphant smirk on his face.
"Starmie is unable to battle! The winner is –"but the Gym Referee cut himself off as he suddenly saw Zorua get covered in flames.
Zorua legs gave out, and after a 10 second struggle, slumped to the ground with swirly eyes.
"ZORUA IS ALSO UNABLE TO BATTLE! BOTH ARE TIED! TRAINERS! RELEASE YOUR LASY POKÉMON!" Ash returned Zorua, then shrunk the ball back down and tossed it up to Zoroark.
Zoroark caught the ball, enlarged it and released Zorua. He couldn't battle but he could watch.
"Ouch. Guess I got a long way to go before I'm as strong as you, Meema." Zorua said as he laid down on Lucario, who had an annoyed look.
"You'll get there eventually, sweetie. Still, learning Night Daze at this level is very impressive." She told him, who had a proud smile on his face.
"That's all well and good, but why are you laying on me!?" Lucario shouted, nit exactly feeling comfortable in that region.
"Better than sitting on a chair, Papaw. I can't lean on the railing to watch the fight." Lucario and Zoroark were taken aback by what Zorua called Lucario.
"PAPAW!?" They both shouted, Lucario more uneasy while Zoroark was just befuddled.
"Yeah. Meema seems to like ya and you remind me of my dad." Zorua mischievously answered, a smirk adorning his face.
Zoroark began blushing profusely, while Lucario was looking VERY uncomfortable at this.
Zoroark then grabbed Zorua and made him look her right in the eye.
"No fighting for one month, Mister!" Zorua suddenly got wide eyes.
"SERIOUSLY!?"
"Consider this a lesson to not blurt it out or dig into other people's business! I might actually let Lucario use you as a sparing partner if you don't stop!" Zorua looked over at Lucario, nervously. When he saw him make an Aura Sphere, he gulped and nodded.
She then put him on top of her head, and they then watched.
"As much as I wanted to use Chinchou for its Volt Absorb ability or a different one, I want to see if me and Gyarados have gotten our bond back and see what YOU'RE trying to hide from us. I'm not about to let you skimp me on something good related to Water Types!"
Misty released Gyarados, who's Roar put Gyrara's to shame.
At least, right now.
Ash stared at it, then pulled out the deep blue ball he had gotten at the start of his new journey.
"GRENINJA! I CHOOSE YOU!" He cried as he threw it.
The moment he said that, one of Serena's balls opened, revealing Braixen. Serena and Sylveon smirked when they saw her release herself.
"So if Greninja annoys you, why did you come out?" Braixen began blushing as she put her paws up.
"It was so that if Greninja loses, I can rub it in his face if he does that grab again!" She said, though Serena only got bits and pieces of it.
But she knew Braixen well enough to make an educated guess.
"Uh huh. Let me know when you and Sylveon get pregnant with kids so I can have the incubators ready." Braixen and Sylveon blushed and did various motions to try and silence her.
To varying success.
Greninja landed on one of the rock islands, standing stoically, not being intimidated by Gyarados in the slightest.
"Gyarados vs Greninja! BATTLE START!" The ref yelled out, then wisely vacated the stand and ran up to the bleachers.
"Start off with Water Shuriken!" Greninja complied, slapping his thighs and leaped into the air, throwing several.
"Use Dragon Dance and dodge it!" Gyarados did a snakelike dance as it maneuvered itself around the Water Shuriken and dove underwater.
'The more he does that, the stronger and faster he gets. Wait, didn't Greninja learn a move to reset improvements?' Ash thought as he looked at Greninja, who nodded.
"Use Haze when it resurfaces!" Greninja leaped into the air, as Gyarados launched from the water, its mouth widened in an attempt to use a Bite attack.
Greninja's tongue unwound itself from his neck as black smoke suddenly billowed from his mouth right into Gyrados' face.
Gyarados started coughing and wheezing from the sudden smoke, when he saw Greninja on one of the rocks, his face again covered by his tongue scarf.
His right cheek moved, and moved his right arm as if to say "That all ya got?"
"Gyarados! Use Dragon Dance again!" Gyarados began to glow when he suddenly vibrated in place as Greninja then fired an Ice Beam at him.
"Greninja just used Taunt, Misty. You can't use status or stage moves anymore! All you can do is attack! Greninja! Use Liquidation!" Misty growled a bit at that but calmed down fast.
"Use Hydro Pump!" Gyarados reared back and fired the massive torrent of water from its mouth straight at Greninja.
"Double Team!" Greninja suddenly leapt both left and right from Gyarados' perspective as two Greninja suddenly appeared.
He then did it again.
And again.
Soon, there were a dozen of him all over the place!
'Damn! I can't use any moves that can stop it thanks to Taunt!' Misty thought as she tried to figure out how to overcome this.
"Misty, what are you waiting for!?" Misty looked over to the other side to see Ash smirking at her.
"Can you MegaEvolve him?" Misty looked confused then looked at her hairpiece.
"I told you I'd show you our trick if you could MegaEvolve him. So, can you?" Misty looked nervous, then looked at Gyarados.
'Can I use it?' She thought but then saw Gyarados' tail rise slightly out of the water, then held it right in front of her.
She stared in confusion until she looked at his face.
Cool, calm and confident. Not looking like he was doubting her. She then smiled.
"Yeah! LET'S DO IT, GYARADOS!" She cried as she began moving in a dance.
"LIKE THE FLOWING OF WATER, I SHALL STAY THE PATH WITH MY POKÉMON! WHEN TWO RIVERS JOIN. A NEW PATH IS FORMED! LET MY RIVER AND GYARADOS' RIVER COME TO FORM ONE AND ALLOW THE RIVER OF MEGAEVOLUTION BE MADE!"
With that, Gyarados was surrounded by a sphere, colored blue and began to expand.
When it shattered, Gyarados was even more huge, and he looked similar to a Chinese Dragon. It roared as it looked at Greninja, ready for a battle.
"Wow. Seems like Misty's bond with her Gyarados is as strong as it was in the original timeline." Serena observed, happy to see her able to get Mega Evolution again.
"Now. I wonder how Ash will respond. Given how powerful Mega Evolution can be." Brock said, remembering how Ash beat his Mega Steelix.
Alain and Mairin were excited, given how he released his Charizard. They knew what was coming.
Lucario also got excited. Greninja had told him about this trick, but this will be the first time he actually sees it.
"This isn't going to be like when we fought when you were in Alola, Ash! Gyarados is going to be beating you this time!" Misty declared proudly, with Gyarados roaring in agreement with his trainer.
Ash just smiled.
"What are you smiling about!? Do your special Mega Evolution trick or whatever your planning!" Ash then pointed at Greninja, whom Misty now noticed was copying his moves perfectly.
"We wanted to use this as well, but we don't use it on those who can't fight against it." As Ash talked, Greninja continued to mimic his moves perfectly. Misty then noticed the water in the pool begin swirling around.
Looking at Gyarados, he motioned that it wasn't him doing it.
"What's going on!?" Gary yelled seeing how Greninja was copying Ash and the water begin making a whirlpool.
"Here it comes." Serena practically squealed in anticipation of seeing her boyfriend's special trick.
Braixen was also excited as she saw the form that she wished she had access to.
"IMAGINE A PERFORMANCE WITH THAT ABILITY!" She mentally told herself.
"In Kalos, me and Greninja went through a lot together!" Ash declared as Greninja continued to mimic him.
Misty was shocked when water suddenly appeared underneath Greninja, having never seen this before.
"We almost died together in a blizzard, but that just unlocked the true form that we have now!" He roared, as the water began to rush faster and faster.
"Because we are going to become stronger from this Misty! Much, much stronger!" He declared, clenching his left fist, with Greninja copying him that Misty admitted that she couldn't figure out who was copying who now.
"Greninja! Let's do it!" He and Greninja screamed, as Misty swore, she saw a watery image of Greninja and Ash coming together. When a massive torrent of Water suddenly surrounded Greninja completely blocking him from view, the water hitting the ceiling.
"YES! ASH -GRENINJA HAS RETURNED!" Serena cried happily, seeing the form that took nearly the entire journey through Kalos to perfect.
Gary, Brock, Kasumi, and the sisters were shocked by the power coming off it.
Miette was surprised seeing it in person, but not as surprised since she did see it on the television during the Kalos League.
Alain and Mairin were excited to see the form that almost beat him during the Kalos finals.
His Charizard also got excited at seeing it, wanting a rematch later.
Misty just stared in shock at what Greninja was doing. She knew it wasn't Mega Evolution as Ash didn't use his Keystone.
When the tornado of water subsided, Greninja now had red accents on his cheeks, the back of his head had black fins protruding from it, and now had a MASSIVE Water Shuriken on his back.
If Misty didn't know any better or that fact that she could see him, she would think Ash and Greninja combined.
Then she remembered what she heard Serena shout.
"ASH-GRENINJA HAS RETURNED."
"This is the trick Ho-Oh was referring to back on Route 1, Misty." She turned to him, who had a smug grin on his face.
"Me and Greninja are the same. We want to be the best there ever was, we train hard together, and we have the same beliefs. This form is not Mega Evolution, as I'm sure you can tell by now. This is the Bond Phenomenon! When one's Pokémon and Trainer are as one!" He declared, with Greninja also copying his movements before he and Ash took a battle stance.
"Use Water Shuriken!" Instead of going for his thighs, Greninja grabbed the giant Shuriken that was on his back and threw it at Gyarados. When it connected, Gyarados very nearly came out of the water, splashing down with such incredible force, a massive wave splashed at the sides and behind Gyarados.
The waves headed for the bleachers, ready to make a splash!
However, Alain's Charizard blew a massive Flamethrower that evaporated most of the water heading for the crowd.
"Good thing he was out." Gary said, not wanting to know how that water was going to feel with 10 metric tons of water.
"He always looked forward to his fights with Greninja, so he just wants to make sure he's still in tip top shape." Alain answered calmly, as he kept watch on Ash.
He remembered how Ash would get winded with him in this form, and how he would react when Greninja got hit.
"I don't think you'll have to worry about him, Alain." He looked over at Serena when she said that.
"Ash has gotten better with it; he shouldn't be as affected as he was in Kalos." She said with a smile. Alain nodded, then was confused.
"Surprised you aren't angry at him with the water." He said, having noticed something above Serena and her Pokémon.
"Eh, Braixen's making a Psychic Field to block the water." She confidently said, then motioned for Braixen to turn it off.
Everyone got wide eyes at this and made hurried motions with their arms.
"Wait! Braixen! Don't turn it off yet!" Both Pikachu and Greninja yelled, making motions to not do it.
"Braixen! If you turn it off now, you'll – "But Ash was too late with his warning as Braixen turned off her field so that she wasn't stressing herself out …
When she, Serena and Sylveon got about 2 metric tons of water comically splashing down on them.
"BAH! WHAT THE HELL!?" She exclaimed as Mairin then held up a camera and rewound the footage.
It showed that while Braixen had indeed blocked it from in front and above them, the above water didn't drain off completely and was just hanging above them.
"Next time, try listening before you do it. However, why didn't you feel the water hanging above you?" She asked Braixen as if she was using Psychic, she should have sensed the water.
"I think she thought she had angled it to where it would run off." Mairin said, having seen some others do this in big arenas.
Serena, Braixen and Sylveon glared down at the battlefield, which caused Ash and Greninja to gulp at the looks they were getting. Sylveon then noticed Pikachu scooting away from her.
Sylveon then made the mistake of grabbing Pikachu …
Only to have his static electricity poof out her fur, making her look a bit ridiculous.
She then glared dangerously at him, while he just shrugged.
"Why do you think I was scooting away from you?" He asked, as he knew it was going to happen.
Both Ash and Greninja were nervous at seeing the looks they were getting from Serena and her Pokémon.
However, they noticed that Braixen and Sylveon's faces seemed to be a perfect match for Serena's.
Why was this important?
They remembered the few times before they managed to perfect the Battle Bond, they would sometimes do the exact same.
He would have apologized if he and Greninja didn't duck a Hydro Pump coming right for them.
"Sorry, Ash. But we're in a battle. FOCUS!" Misty shouted as Gyarados sent out a Dark Pulse, which Greninja jumped over.
Gyarados then turned its head up and fired a Hyper Beam.
"Let's block it, Greninja!" Grabbing the Shuriken off his back, he began spinning it around, which deflected the Hyper Beam, though stray beams were going all over the place.
"Use Hydro Pump!" She cried, knowing that she had no choice but to keep attacking, thanks to Taunt.
"Take the water and make your Shuriken bigger!" Ash called out, repeating what happened earlier.
"Use Aqua Tail to knock it back!" Gyarados in a split second, spun around with his tail covered in water as he knocked the oversized throwing start back at Greninja, who was not expecting it, taking a massive hit in the chest.
"HA! How do you like that – "Misty cut herself off when she saw Ash holding his chest, the same area where Greninja got hit.
The thing is, Ash looked like he FELT what happened to Greninja.
"GH! Use Liquidation, Greninja!" Despite the pain they were both feeling, Greninja stood tall as he then looked to grab the Shuriken again.
Instead, he made a martial arts gesture as he was surrounded by water, and then flew at Gyarados, slamming into his face.
When he landed, he was suddenly surrounded by water as he looked like he had been hit.
Also, Ash seemed to get hurt for some reason.
"What the!?" Gary said, having seen Liquidation before and it looked nothing like that.
"Did Greninja learn Wave Crash?" Alain asked, given what happened to Ash and Greninja.
"No. I think his Battle Bond overpowered it." Serena said, remembering what Ash told her about Aura during their training.
"I think Serena is right. If Greninja was in his original form, it would go normally. However, given the extra power from this form, it's overpowered Liquidation to the point it's now similar to Wave Crash." Brock said, having noticed the water was glowing dark blue instead of regular Light water Blue.
"Did this happen before in Kalos, Serena?" Miette asked, which Serena paled at that.
It never happened once in Kalos.
Ash was barely standing from that sudden attack on his body.
It almost felt like his Aura was getting BURNED suddenly.
Was it the Battle Bond?
Or was it a problem with Time Travel causing something?
Gritting his teeth, he shakily looked up and saw Gyarados charging a Dark Pulse
"Gh! USE YOUR OWN DARK PULSE!" He splattered out, given how he was feeling the fatigue Greninja was feeling.
When Gyarados shot it at Greninja, he spun around, seemingly taking his Dark Pulse and empowering Greninja's. He fired it right back at Gyarados, angling it under his chin, knocking him into the air.
"Now use Ice Punch!" He roared, clenching his fist like Greninja as he filled cold air and freezing water in his hand.
When the punch connected, Gyarados was flung so high, he crashed into the ceiling.
Normally, this wouldn't worry anyone, given how Gym Buildings were built to take a pounding.
After MegaEvolution became popular, most gyms switched to a combination of Titanium and Granite walls and ceilings.
At least, if it was the time before the attack.
Brock, however, remembered how the buildings hadn't yet been built for MegaEvolution or Z moves just yet.
When he saw the crash, he immediately became worried when he saw cracks appearing on the roof.
"Daisy. Did you three remember to put in steel for the roof?" He nervously asked.
"Um, no. Why?" Brock then nervously pointed at the cracks on the ceiling.
"What's the roof made of?" Daisy looked at the cracks then paled.
"We never thought ANYTHING could get that high or that powerful! It's regular standard issue!" She cried, then everyone turned ghost white.
Ash and Misty, however, didn't hear them.
They were too focused on the battle, which was heating up.
However, Ash was noticing something else.
He was getting very weak, almost like something was draining his life in a way.
"Gah! Greninja! We need to finish this! Get your Shuriken ready!" Greninja shakily grabbed it, then just stood there.
"Gyarados! Hyper Beam again!" Misty cried as her Mega Evolution once again fired an orange beam from its mouth.
When Greninja spun his Shuriken to block it, stray beams went up into the ceiling …
And it was clear it wasn't going to hold much more.
Misty, however, didn't notice, and decided to try and knock out Greninja with a move that if she had the option to set up, would have been a powerful combo.
"Gyarados! Use Thunder!" Gyarados charged up electricity around his body, then a cloud appeared in the ceiling area.
"Greninja! Use Double team!" Ash called out, as multiple Greninja appeared and surrounded Gyarados.
"USE HYDRO PUMP TO SWEEP THEM AWAY!" STOP THEM BEFORE THE THUNDER HAS A CHANCE TO MISS!" Misty cried in desperation as Gyarados began to spray water everywhere in order to find the real Greninja.
They didn't notice the fakes turn into water and start moving into the water.
When all the copies were gone, Greninja was nowhere to be found.
"What the – WHERE DID HE GO!?" Misty shouted as Gyarados quickly began searching for his opponent.
He got a wakeup call when Greninja leaped out of the water under his chin and clobbered him.
With a GIGANTIC Water Shuriken in its hand.
"NOW CATCH THE ELECTRICITY!" Ash hollered as Greninja and Ash began spinning it around as the Thunder finally let loose.
When it hit the Shuriken, instead of conducting into Greninja's arm, it began swirling around, until the cloud disappeared and Greninja seemed to take aim at Gyarados.
"NOW THROW IT!" Ash yelled as Greninja let it rip, it sparking the entire time as it crashed into Gyarados.
Face first.
Gyarados roared in pain as he began to fall to his side.
However, it became clear that the shear power of the attack might have a side effect.
Made clear when the electricity began arcing Violently off Gyarados and impacting everywhere.
Brock's fears about the ceiling came true as he saw massive chunks of the ceiling behind falling.
"EVERYONE, OUT OF THE BUILDING!" He ordered as everyone began booking for the exits.
Serena had gotten there when she saw Ash still focusing on the battle.
"ASH! STOP THE FIGHT AND GET OUT OF HERE!" She cried seeing how he was panting heavily and seemed to have been burned somehow.
However, it seemed as if he didn't hear her as he shakily lifted up Greninja's Pokéball.
"ASH!" She yelled again as she began to try to run to him.
Only to get grabbed by Mairin and Miette.
"Serena! We can't stay here! Ash will be alright!" And they dragged Serena out of the crumbling building.
With Serena screaming Ash's name.
Ash had heard Serena, and had seen Misty return her Gyarados, which had reverted to a regular Gyarados in defeat.
He had just raised Greninja's Pokéball, who was still falling from the air.
When a piece of ceiling slamming into Greninja's right side.
And he slammed into one of the rocks that were in the pool.
Ash immediately felt himself lose control of his right arm and leg, as they became limp.
Ash fell to his side as he saw Greninja's ball roll away.
Just before he lost consciousness, he saw something blink in with Teleport, bash the ceiling off Greninja, grab him, then rush towards him.
Everyone had gotten outside as the main gym arena ceiling finally came down and stopped crashing.
Misty, Kasumi and Daisy were not exactly happy about this.
"When he comes out, he is SO in for it!" Misty growled, while also being thankful it was limited to the Gym portion, and not the entire building, where the Water Pokémon could be endangered.
Serena seemed to be having a fit, as Ash hadn't yet come out of the building.
"Serena, is there something you're not telling us about the Battle Bond?" Brock asked, having noticed how Ash was reacting to the fight.
Serena was ready to explain, as Gary also had a look begging for an explanation.
When everyone saw a figure walking out of the dust.
It was a Lucario …
Carrying an unconscious Ash and a knocked out Greninja.
White lights.
Was he dead again?
He sure hoped not. He hadn't completed his tasks yet.
He tried to look around …
And realized the white lights were only when he looked straight ahead.
When he looked to his left, he realized he was in a hospital bed as he saw a hospital desk to his left.
When he looked to his right …
He realized that he was numb in his arm and leg.
And Serena was holding it while being asleep.
Still in her dress.
Unable to stop himself from smiling, he leaned towards her cheek and kissed it.
That stirred her awake as she then had tears in her eyes.
She body tackled Ash ND squeezed him.
"DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN! I ALREADY LOST YOU IN A WAY IN THE OLD WORLD, I CAN'T BARE TO GO THROUGH IT AGAIN!" She sobbed into his chest as he wrapped his left arm around her.
"Doubt I will when I have such a lovely Performer Angel beside me." Serena blushed at that, then noticed Ash grimaced.
"Ash, is something wrong?" Ash then motioned to his right shoulder.
"I don't know if it's a side effect of what happened in the Battle Bond, but my right leg and shoulder feel dislocated." At that, the hospital door opened.
In came Brock, Gary, Miette, Mairin, Alain, Misty …
And Sir Aaron's Lucario.
"Good. Your Aura levels are rising again. Let's see if I can't aid it in some way." With that, he leaned and held his paws out, Ash feeling him sending Aura into his numb areas.
And he felt like it was returning.
"Ash, what happened? I know you sometimes act or are willing to take damage similar to your Pokémon, but that seemed like it was cranked up!" Gary said, worried for his friend.
Alain, Mairin, Miette and Serena looked at Ash nervously as he sighed.
"It's for 2 reasons. One, when the Battle Bond is active, I feel everything Greninja feels. I even see through his eyes, and feel if he starts lagging behind. But the second reason is the most important one. Most of the time, I feel a bit of Aura coursing through us, so it kind of overloads on me whenever Greninja gets hit." He said as Lucario then stood over him.
"But it never acted like this before. Here, it felt overly sensitive. It never did this back in Kalos." Lucario then held up a paw.
"Seems my old friend neglected to tell you certain things about it. These are going to be very important so pay attention." With that, everyone gave Lucario their full attention.
"Ash, how old were you in Kalos when you unlocked the Battle Bond?"
"16."
"Just as I thought. Ash, given how you regressed back to an earlier age, I think I know what happened and it also pertains to what happened this time. You saw what happened with Liquidation right?" Ash nodded, remembering how the attack somehow did recoil damage.
"It didn't turn into Wave Crash, right?"
"No, it didn't. Whenever the Battle Bond gets activated, it takes a small portion of your Aura and Greninja's Aura in order to maintain the form. Now, when a Pokémon like Greninja is in his final form, that is the human equivalent of a teenager." Lucario then moved his paws from Ash's arm to his leg.
"However, what Aaron forgot to mention it seems, is that Aura is constantly on during that transformation. When you were 16, you and Greninja were close enough that you didn't need to use that much Aura as some others do, hence why you got winded or lost consciousness, or your body fainted during those times." His face then took a solemn look to it as he then stood up straight.
"However, if the age difference is too great, the humans Aura will try pumping more power to the human in order to make up for the difference in skill and physical body. However, when you were using it here, your Aura got stretched so thin, you were literally pulling yourself apart." Serena became nervous, as did everyone else.
Mairin was also holding up her Holocaster to make sure the Professor got this later.
"That's why hits felt so much more damaging. Your Aura, in an attempt to make up for the difference between Greninja and you NOW, it stretched itself so thin that some moves were read wrong. Liquidation, instead of being focused on a body part, was spread over the entire body. And because of the overload, it caused recoil damage." Lucario then pointed to the areas Ash had just now started feeling again.
"It's also why you felt like your Aura was burning, Ash. You were literally burning up tons of Aura to maintain it. I had to run to Mew and have her teleport me here to get here in time to save you." Lucario then looked very concerned.
"If I didn't make it here in time, the ceiling piece that landed on Greninja would have been permanent. You wouldn't be able to use your arm or leg again as the Aura foe it was destroyed. It's only rebuilding itself thanks to me putting a little of my Aura into you."
Ash looked dejected at that. He had gotten Greninja back only to learn that their special ability was now dangerous to them.
"Because of that, I have also put a block on both you and Greninja. Until you're 15, it will only allow you to access the form if it's a life-or-death situation. Or once per day, if you meet someone else who seems to have it or a Mega Evolution." Ash nodded at that, happy to know Misty wouldn't strangle him if she got a Pokémon with a Battle Bond ability.
"Until then, I suggest you work on making sure your Aura gets stronger and improving your body. It's the only way to make sure this doesn't happen again." He said as he then left the room.
"Well, sorry Misty. Guess we'll have to wait if you find a Pokémon that has the ability. I'm not going to argue with him." Misty looked hurt, but she honestly understood and agreed with Lucario.
Because of the time travel she would have to wait for her chance.
"So, did they say when I could get out or when Greninja will be ok?" He couldn't help but ask.
"Afraid it will be at least a day. Greninja is getting healed by Nurse Joy right now, so be thankful she could restore his arm and leg." Alain said, looking stoic as he usually did.
On the inside, Ash bet he was a bit ticked that his Charizard's best rival would not be fighting him for a while.
Mairin seemed to think this too, as she then touched his shoulder.
"You can still challenge him whenever, right?" Ash smiled at that.
"Honestly, I'm hoping to fight you Charizard to Charizard." Alain looked shocked at that.
"So, you caught a Charizard after we fought?" Ash smirked.
"Nope. He was my 4th Pokémon after I started my journey. The only reason I didn't have him with me on Kalos is because I liked to start fresh each region starting with Hoenn. And he was training in the Charicific Valley at the time. That's why I didn't use him in the Kalos League." Alain eyes widened at that.
Ash had a Charizard that was from the Charicific Valley? One whom had been with him longer than Greninja was?
"If you do decide to take on the Indigo League, start with only Charizard and Tyranitar. Metagross will only stick out for you." Ash advised. Mairin then ended recording.
"I think it's time we headed back to a Center so that we can contact the Professor." She said as she and Alain began to head to the door.
"Wait! Before you go." Ash called out to them.
"In a month or two, I should be getting back to Pallet Town. Let Sycamore know he's invited there." Alain nodded and they headed out of the room.
"Now that that's all done, YOU AND I ARE GONNA BE HAVING A TALK, MISTER!" Misty suddenly yelled, causing everyone to jump.
"Do you realize how much damage you caused to the Gym, Ash!? The roof is going to need to be completely replaced! You're lucky you beat my cousin to get the badge!" She yelled into his face.
"HEY! You were the one demanding me to use our secret trick, Misty! I assumed your Gym was built to take a pounding!" He argued, as Misty herself had promised the building wouldn't buckle from two Mega Evolutions duking it out.
"That was before I saw how powerful it was! We had to get a special Vaporeon and Golem in order to make a new one!" Misty argued, not wanting to admit she was part of the problem.
"Misty, we are back before Gyms were upgraded. Hopefully, this incident encourages the PLA to speed things up. Also, you would not shut up about the Battle Bond." Brock pointed out.
"It's still his fault for not holding – "
"ENOUGH!"
When that shout happened, everyone jumped and saw it had been Serena …
Who was now in a Kalos Nurse Joy outfit for some reason.
"The patient cannot be taking this much accusation until he is fully recovered! You doing this is slowing him down on the road to recovery and might be slowing down our Journey!" She shouted, taking quite the commanding presence.
"As such, it is MY executive decision that everyone besides nurses is allowed in this room until the patient is better!" With that, she began to push everyone out of the room.
"But Serena!" Misty began before she got a cold glare from the Blonde Haired girl.
"OUT!" With that, the four were tossed out of the room as Serena locked it behind them.
She then began to walk over to Ash when she noticed he was giving her a strange look.
"Sorry, but I couldn't risk her starting a shouting match with you." She said as she sat near his bed.
"It's not that. How long have you had that outfit and why did you suddenly change?" He asked ad she began to blush.
"Well, I just found it in my backpack while we were practicing routines for Performances and Contests. I don't know how it got in there. And I felt like it would help out with intimidating Misty. Who would argue with Nurse Joy or a Nurse in general?" Ash chuckled at that, then began to close his eyes.
"Wonder if the creation trio is having this much fun? Probably bored out of their minds waiting for me." He thought as he let himself drift to sleep after he gave Serena a kiss on the cheek.
At least he could joke to Brock that he got a kiss on Nurse Joy instead of him.
(MEANWHILE, WITH THE CREATION TRIO AND ARCEUS!)
"OK, move the Sniper Pokènzer there." Dialga calculated as Giratina, Arceus and Sir Aaron watched as he strategically put giant mechs in squares.
It was Dialga's turn to play a game from the massive collection of games they had.
He picked out Back Assault 4, a game for the Pokéy FunStation 2.
A giant mecha strategy game where you moved giant mecha called Pokénzers into position and tried to destroy the opponents opposing Pokénzers.
Arceus, Giratina and Sir Aaron were watching with interest as Dialga prepared for a com o attack between a Sniper Pokénzer and a Brawler Pokénzer.
Palkia …
Was bored out of his mind.
"For the love of … SHOOT THEM ALREADY!" He wailed as he then saw Dialga put the mecha on overwatch.
"If I did that, I wouldn't be able to USE the combo attack in the first place." Palkia growled as Dialga the did the Brawler's special attack to hit the opponent from 2 spaces away.
The moment it moved; the Sniper shot off an armor piercing round that completely destroyed it.
"I'll never understand how you get enjoyment out of this! I would prefer to actually be IN control of the Mecha instead of planning multiples!" He shouted as Dialga once again got a perfect mission score with no casualties.
"Either you stop insulting what I like, or I have your turn skipped again! Also, I can't PLAY those games when I'm in this form as, in case you haven't noticed," He shook his front appendages which were his front legs, "I'm a little bit handicapped unlike you!"
"Well at least I can actually enjoy the good ones instead of acting like I'm at an arcade!"
"And at least I don't whine every two minutes when I get SNIPED halfway across the map like you do!"
"Big talk from a thumbless moron!"
"It always ends this way between these two." Giratina lamented as seeing Dialga and Palkia start arguing about which games were better, and pushing into each other's faces.
"Should I, Arceus?" Aaron asked as he was not wanting another fight to break out.
"Please bring her here. Dialga's game has finished saving." Arceus pleaded. Aaron nodded and turned to a set of stairs.
"SERAPHINA!"
Dialga and Palkia turned ghost white when they heard the familiar clicking of boot heels.
When they looked at the stair entrance, standing there was a fair skinned woman who was wearing a dress that looked appropriate for the period Aaron was from, pink Ankle boots, a long pink scarf, and a blonde ponytail on her head.
She looked like a modern model, who happened to be having QUITE the angry face that made her scary.
"ARE YOU TWO AT IT AGAIN?" She shouted as Dialga and Palkia hugged each other in fright at her appearance here.
"We – we were just talking about our favorite – "Palkia got cut off when she somehow zoomed across the room and got in his face.
"DON'T TRY TO LIE TO ME, PALKIA! YOU INSTIGATED THIS ARGUMENT BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE PATIENCE TO PLAY WHAT DIALGA LIKES! AND DIALGA DECIDED TO POKE YOUR EGO WITH ANGEL WINGS IN ORDER TO GET YOU TO STOP!" She shouted as Dialga made no attempt to get away, as she always had a knack for hunting them down despite their abilities.
"As such, no games for you, Palkia, for two weeks!" Palkia's eyes grew wide at that.
"Dialga, has your game saved?" He quickly looked over.
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Ok! I hope you forgive me, but I am taking over the rest of your turn as punishment." Dialga was upset but didn't argue.
"Sorry, but for everyone to calm down I must ask you to no longer be down here. It's movie or TV time." With that, she turned off the CRT and ushered Dialga and Palkia up like little kids.
"What's the special occasion, Seraphina? Did something happen?" Aaron asked as he was behind her.
"Oh, the original singer of the Code Pokéoko has released a updated version of the song. I was thinking of watching that as the Net is back up and then we all watch the amazing Kalos Code Pokéoko to take a break from games. Also, dinner is almost ready." With that, she went back to the kitchen area while everyone else went to the 120-inch TV with 7.1 Surround system.
"So, still regret me asking you to bring her here?" Aaron cheekily asked Arceus.
"I will admit, she was worth it. Just glad that your betrothed were not around. I do NOT want to deal with those entitled idiots." Aaron nodded as Seraphina brought out dinner for everyone, despite the Creation Team not needing food.
Suddenly, Seraphina giggled at something.
"What's up?" Aaron asked as she hadn't even turned on the TV yet.
"Oh, my descendant is using that little gift I put in her backpack. With your descendant in a hospital bed." Aaron then eyed her suspiciously.
"What did you do?"
"Eh, I just found the Nurse Joy costume she used that one time and put it in her backpack." She said nonchalantly as she flicked the TV on, and a Kalos singer began singing the theme.
"Well, at least Ash can tease his friend saying he kissed a Nurse Joy. I'm just thankful I remembered what happened last timeline to save you." Once he finished that statement, he immediately noticed Seraphina sitting close enough to rub her cheek against his causing him to blush.
"Only way this could be better is if Zori and Lucario were here."
"The fact that they aren't is a good sign, showing that they might be living life again. If memory serves, didn't Zori bear a child from Lucario?" Arceus sneakily asked as both Seraphina and Aaron turned beet red.
"That's enough! The episode is starting!" Seraphina tried to move as the first Episode of Code Pokéoko was indeed starting.
Arceus smirked at them and just activated the recliner function of the chair he was in since he was in human form right now.
(OUTSKIRTS OF CERULEAN CITY)
After saying his goodbyes to Brock and Misty (and making sure Misty didn't somehow tear down the door), Gary was heading out to Vermillion City.
He had checked his current Pokémon, and happily discovered that all the ones he had on him had gone back to being fully evolved, which he then gave the 2 Moonstones he had found that had originally evolved his Nidorina and Nidorino to Misty so that Ash and Serena could evolve theirs if they wished.
This time, however, he had a companion.
"So, are you following me because here you had a crush on me?" He asked the blue haired girl who was with him.
"Partially. If we do decide to do it, I want it to be mutual and not forced. Besides you know more about Kanto than I do. I had only JUST moved to Kanto." Gary nodded at Miette's response, then saw some bushes rustling.
What emerged surprised them both, especially Miette.
It was a Chespin.
When it turned to them, it looked confused and began eyeing them up while in a fighter's pose.
Gary suddenly felt like there was something drawing him to this Chespin.
Wanting to be stronger, but continuing to be a researcher.
"I see you're not from around here." The Chespin grunted, having been dragged over here by a Pidgey.
"I can also tell while you're a fighter, you want to do more than that." Chespin cocked his head to the side, wondering how he figured that out.
"I'm the same. Right now I'm taking on the Indigo League, but I want to be more than that. I want to research Pokémon." He immediately sweat dropped when he saw how apprehensive Chespin became.
"I mean behavior and just how they live their lives. I don't do THAT." That calmed him down.
"However, due to some strange circumstances, most of my Pokémon are now a bit over leveled so to speak. I want to work for it, not breeze through it. And I am hoping you'll join. Not as a weapon, not as a tool, but as a friend." With that, Gary laid a Pokéball on the ground and backed away, letting Chespin know it was his choice.
Chespin stared at the Pokéball. He had been abandoned by a trainer. He was told he was useless and that his dream to become an ethologist (yes he looked it up) was stupid because he was a Pokémon himself.
Yet, there was a trainer who seemed to be the same as him. Not abandoned of course, but same ideology and goals. He just fought for fun, which Chespin did as well.
However, he would not hurt his opponent more than necessary which his old one kept trying to stomp out. And he was given a choice.
Chespin looked into Gary's eyes, feeling a strange connection that was compelling him to take it.
Now he usually wouldn't just do what it said, but he couldn't help but smile, nod and tap the button, letting himself get sucked in.
The ball immediately dinged, signifying no struggle.
Gary smiled and picked up his new friend.
"Well, seems Ash's way of getting them works well! Guess my old self really should have taken a hint from him." He said as he prepared to put the ball on his belt.
When it burst open and Chespin looked mortified.
"Everything OK, Chespin?" he asked, seeing the look on Chespin's face.
It then curled up while shivering.
"OH, dark cramped and feel like you're alone?" Nod of the head confirmed.
If this was the old Gary, he would have worried about how it would seem like Chespin was the one training him like he once said to Ash.
Thankfully, that particular Gary was gone, and he had NO intention of going back.
"I've got a friend whose Pikachu is the same way. He doesn't go into the ball at all, so what do you say to shoulder riding?" He asked it, patting his right shoulder.
Chespin gapped at him. He didn't need to go around in a ball? He could just ride around on his shoulder?
Well, this Gary was already beating his old trainer by a landslide.
He saw the girl near him and decided his course of action.
He ran up her leg, springing after grabbing the hem of her right short leg, and then jumping off her shoulder to Gary's.
When he landed and got into a good position, he saw Gary glaring at him.
"Next time, ask her before you just run up her. It's very rude and she is NOT a bridge!" He told him.
Chespin looked at Miette confused, then back at Gary, then back to Miette.
When he looked at Gary again, he had a devious smirk.
Gary narrowed his eyes at him, wondering what his plan was for Miette.
He better not hurt her.
Suddenly, Chespin covered his mouth with his right paw, looked to Miette …
And blew a kiss to her.
He then pointed at Gary and then made a bowing motion. Miette giggled hard at that.
"I know. He's incredibly shy, isn't he?" She said mischievously as Gary turned red.
"NOT FUNNY, CHESPIN!" He yelled as Chespin just gave him a smirk and made a motion of opening something.
"NO! NO, THERE WILL BE NONE OF THAT! WE AREN'T ENGAGED AND WE ARE NOT DATING!" He desperately said, not sure why he was so nervous about being seen like that around Miette.
Chespin then cocked his head to the side while he still smirked as if to say …
"Sure. You're not dating her."
"YET."
Gary grimaced at this, and just began walking while Miette continued giggling as she walked beside him.
Then Gary felt her holding his right hand.
And then heard her whispering to Chespin.
"Feel free to use me as a bridge whenever he's next to me." She told him, who winked and pawed the equivalent of a thumbs up.
His Blushing increased to over 9000.
'Wonder if Alain and/or Mairin are having just as much fun.'
He then looked at his wrist that now had a Keystone, and at a blue piece of Blastoisnite.
(MEANWHILE, WITH SAID PEOPLE.)
To say Sycamore was excited about the footage would be an understatement.
The moment he saw Mega Gyarados, he absolutely became ecstatic.
When he saw Alain now had a Keystone and Charazardite X, he began begging Alain to continue to challenge people to get a good enough bond to use it.
All without letting Alain or Mairin talk.
Finally, Alain had enough.
"Professor, either you let me say my piece, OR I HANG UP!" Thankfully, Sycamore immediately calmed down.
"Sorry, Alain. It's just after years after I saw someone do 6 Mega Evolutions at once, the fact that more are coming excites me! Including talking to Oak and this special person again!" He exclaimed, happy to try and meet this person.
"I know, sir. However, I must ask you if it's alright if I take on the Indigo League because of this. Marion will be with me and keep track." Alain pointed out, hoping to keep the conversation on track.
"Oh, absolutely! Keep it up and continue the exploring!" With that, Sycamore hung up.
"Well, that could have gone better. Namely without him using Extreme Talk." Marin giggled at that, then pulled out her town map.
"I think we should first get registered here, then head over to Pewter City. Should be the best starter point." She said, as she picked up her bag with Chespie on her shoulder.
"Agreed, hope we get to fight Red, though. He's my second inspiration for this alongside his Venasaur taking down a Meteor."
"Ah yes. The Delta incident. One of the last times the Real Giovanni was seen."
(SPEAKING OF!)
It was 10 PM in Viridian City.
Night almost looks like day when it becomes night here, and some people never sleep here.
One person who wanted to sleep, but wasn't allowed right now was Red.
In his guise of Giovanni, Red was doing the whole Schick of "APPROVING OR DISAPPROVING" budget.
Thanks to James making him CEO of his parent's company, they were given extra money to spend on.
It also helped that it was specific to HIM and not some fake Team Rocket shell company.
Meaning they couldn't control it.
He had just put the paperwork away …
When he heard his desk phone buzz.
"A Mr. Flint Harrison here to see you, Giovanni." Matori reported.
Red , instead of groaning, smirked.
When Flint walked into the room, Giovanni stared at him intently.
While he would usually feel intimidated by this, he couldn't help but feel a familiar presence when he looked at him.
"It's been a while hasn't it, Flint? Or would you prefer me to call you Brock?" with that, Flint got his answer.
"To think you were right under our noses, Red. Why?" At that, to his surprise, Giovanni growled.
"YOU think I wanted this? To torture innocent people and Pokémon? To go against everything I fought for? No. I have been looking for a way OUT of this damn situation." With that, Giovanni stood up.
"And a few days ago, it came in the form of my son." Flint then knew it was definitely Red.
And he seemed to be plotting something behind the back of Team Rocket.
He suddenly put an arm around him, like an old friend.
"You want in? I could use your help to make sure things go according to plan, Brock" Flint then smirked.
"Just tell me, Red."
"First off, Flint, aren't you just here to check up and make sure things are up to code in the Gym?" Confused, Flint saw some kind of Stature …
With a red eye.
Quickly realizing what was going on, he quickly played along.
"Yeah, some Ground types have apparently been having trouble burrowing into the ground. Almost like there was steel there …"
And with that, the two old friends quickly began tricking the ones watching them.
(ELSEWHERE, SOMEWHERE OVER THE OCEAN!)
"GAH!" Kodai screamed as he felt a pair of defibrillators shock him back to consciousness.
"Kodai! Are you alright, sir?" One of his men asked in concern since he was out for the better part of the day.
"Minus a headache, I'm just peachy!" He jabbed as he got back to his chair.
"I'm afraid they're out of target range sir." Another reported, which made Kodai growl.
He needed to get something to help him get the energy back.
"Sir! I have some good news!" Kodai then turned to another.
"This had better be good!"
"In Cameron, there is a tree called the Tree of Beginning. While Mew lives there, there seems to be something in the crystals in the heart of the tree." With that, he handed a tablet over to Kodai.
When he saw what he was talking about, he smirked.
"Figure out a way to get those two out without damaging the Tree. I don't want to get Mew on our tail." The soldier then brought up a phone.
"Might I suggest Kidd Summers, Sir? Her organization is close to ours." Kodai smirked and nodded.
He may have failed with these Zoroark and Zorua, but he would still get his prize."
(MEANWHILE, NOT FAR FROM THE KETCHUM RESIDENCE!)
Clefy and Jiggly had just landed in Pallet Town.
This place brought back memories. Both good and bad.
Good was when they and their trainer had scoped out a great house to live in with their other friends and Trainer.
Bad when the fiasco in Golden Rod City occurred and she released them so that Team Rocket couldn't track her down.
They missed Green.
Jiggly especially as when Green had been kidnapped as a child, she was her first Pokémon.
She felt Clefy patting her back, knowing how hard it was for her when she had to leave.
They made their way to the address and saw the house.
Then they saw the woman inside.
Jiggly got angry as the woman didn't even look like their old trainer!
"I knew it! He was lying!" Clefy however, shook his head.
"No. I don't think so. Remember, she has a hairband that's holding it in place right now. And years have passed, Jiggly. Changes are bound to happen! We'll give it 2 days, then hunt him down if he was lying." Jiggly glared but acquiesce for Clefy.
Then, the woman pulled off the hairband that was making it into a ponytail …
And it then sprung forward and took on the appearance of Green. Then she investigated a closet …
And both Jiggly and Clefy were floored when they saw their old trainer's dress in it.
There was no doubt about it.
It was Green!
"C'mon, Clefy! Let's get reunited!" With that, Jiggly made a beeline for the front door.
Before she got tackled to the ground by him.
"Wait, you moron! We don't know yet if it's safe! For all we know, she could be under watch, or we were tracked!" Despite this, Jiggly continued to struggle to get out from underneath him.
They then heard the front door unlocking, and Clefy dragged Jiggly back to behind the tree so as not to be seen.
Little bit tough as Clefy found it hard to put his arm in his compatriot's mouth enough to keep her silent, as she was trying to shout out to Green.
They saw her walk out of the house and to the mailbox, clearly looking saddened about something.
Then she went inside with a box and a letter.
Clefy, however, noticed the box had Green on it.
Returning to the windowsill, they saw her open the box …
And pull out her old gloves and the remnants of the mask she was forced to wear as a child.
Then, she read the letter and began to tear up.
Both Clefy and Jiggly also began to cry.
So close and yet so far.
"Hopefully, our other friends haven't left Kanto, minus Bulu since his species is from Johto, so probably best to not try our luck with him." Clefy and Jiggly prepared to find a good hiding place when they saw Green coming towards the window.
When she opened it up, they heard her plea.
"Please Ash, make sure you find my old friends. I want us to be a complete family." With that, she went to the stairs and vanished from sight.
Clefy and Jiggly looked at each other and nodded.
Jiggly went to what looked like a forest area nearby while Clefy lagged behind a bit and stared at the house.
He wanted to rush over there and let Green know.
She was so close!
But, until the threat was gone, they stayed apart.
Despite this, Clefy answered his old trainer.
"I promise you, Green. We will be a family again."
And with that, he ran off to catch up to his compatriot.
