AFTER BEATING THE LIGHTNING AMERICAN, ASH AND FRIENDS HAD GONE UP TO CERULEAN CAPE, WHERE A PSYCHIC TRIED TO TURN SERENA IN TO HER OWN WEAPON.
AFTER THAT, OUR FRIENDS WENT TO PORTA VISTA AND SERENA (reluctantly) ENTERED A BIKINI CONTEST AND REUNITED WITH MIETTE TO WIN THE MONEY FOR MOE.
HOWEVER, BECAUSE SHE WON, SHE GOT A TARGET PAINTED ON HER BACK FROM THE BABA THAT RAN HER OWN DINER.
AND THEN LEARNED HOW HER MOTHER LIKES TO THREATEN PEOPLE WITH RHYRHY.
AFTER MISTY GOT A NEW TENTACRUEL AND HORSEA BACK, THEY HEADED OVER TO WHERE THEY HAD MET BUTTERFREE'S MATE, SAKURA.
AFTER A MISHAP DURING A ROUTINE PRACTICE NEARLY CAUSED SERENA TO RETIRE PREMATURELY, SAKURA SAVED SERENA AND ASKED SERENA TO BECOME HER POKÉMON.
NOW THAT SHE HAS A SEVERAL FLIERS, SERENA IS LOOKING TO GET A NEW ONE TO HELP OUT.
NOW IF ONLY SHE KNEW WHAT CURRENTLY WATCHES HER AFTER SOME TRAINING.
It was nighttime in Kanto. On the outskirts of Lavender Town, he had decided to take a break from staying cooped up in the Tower.
He and his friends had just had some fun with a trio of girls who had blundered into their tower.
Made a bet with some boys they clearly had crushes on.
And 2 of them were the kind he LOVED messing with.
They came in some fancy dress and forgot that they were entering a HAUNTED TOWER.
And they did the classic trope of not watching where they were stepping.
As such, he happily activated the trapdoors that were underneath them.
The third girl accidentally activated a spin bookshelf and got ejected out of the tower.
The other two had to stay for a half hour longer than they intended until the boys came to save them.
Absolutely hilarious when he sent them down trapdoors into their faces.
Unfortunately, his friends didn't exactly like his sense of humor.
"SCARE AND PRANK WITHOUT MAKING THEM SCARRED!"
What a motto.
He always laughed at the shocked faces girls like them gave when they got dropped in their fancy dress.
He always made sure that they never got hurt, sticking to the motto.
He was just enjoying the night air, free from the glares he was getting back at the tower.
He then saw a group of tents, so he quickly investigated.
He saw on a bulletin board that their next destination WAS the Tower.
He saw two boys in two tents, with a Pikachu and some Frog Pokémon that he didn't recognize.
The other boy, well, he couldn't tell if he was awake or asleep from his eyes. He did see his chest rising and falling in the rhythm of snoring.
He then went into another tent and saw a cute looking red head.
Unfortunately, it was clear she was a tomboy, no cute dresses.
Shame he couldn't drop her.
He then went into the last tent.
He saw a cute blonde with what looked like a Eeveelution with her and a fox that he could tell had Psychic energy.
Taking a Quick Look, he smirked when he saw she had the option of a red fancy dress with black leggings, and red shoes with a black heel sole.
Just what he wanted to drop.
However, it was clear she would not wear this outfit unless she had to, given the red casual clothes she had and brown boots, and the pink fedora hat.
A smirk began to take shape on his gaseous face.
He would make sure that she would wear those clothes when she visited him and his friends.
He let a small quiet laugh escape so as not to alert her as he grabbed her casual clothes and boots and flew back to the Tower.
(IN THE MORNING!)
"Ai yai yai! Forgot how uncomfortable the ground can be in the wild. Granted it might be worse here given its near Lavender Town." Ash groaned as he woke up.
Ash and his friends had landed a good way out of Lavender Town, near Rock Tunnel.
They agreed it would be a bit too distracting to fly DIRECTLY into town.
So, they had decided to camp out in the wilderness to avoid suspicious eyes as you never know when Team Rocket could be around.
He got out of his tent and saw Brock getting breakfast ready.
"Morning Ash, you're about the same shape I was getting up." He said as he stirred some chop suey.
"BRAAAAHHHH! Morning guys." Misty groggily said as she stumbled out of her tent, having not yet put her hair in that sideways ponytail she liked to do.
"Morning Misty. Breakfast will be done soon. Could you have Tentacruel come out? I could use a dash of his poison to spice up the meal." Misty shrugged and released her new friend.
"Tenta?"
"Hey Tentacruel. Could you secrete a tiny amount of your poison? Not enough to paralyze us, but enough to wake us up?" Tentacruel leaned over the point, pointed his nose like appendage at it, and a small tear drop began to slide down it.
"That's it. Careful you don't accidentally suck it up." It balanced on it until it plopped right into the dish.
"Thanks. Hey, does Serena usually sleep in like this?" Brock asked as Ash looked around.
He knew she loved to sleep in, but she never slept in like this during their time in Kalos.
He quickly walked over to her tent and tapped the frame of the tent.
"Hey Serena? Are you up yet? Breakfast is almost ready."
"I'm not coming out." Ash was surprised, she never took this long to get ready.
"Serena, we can't wait forever for you to get ready. We need to get to the Pokémon Tower."
"I AM dressed, but it's not that. Please go on to Lavender Town and meet me in Saffron." Ash shook his head.
"Serena, I am not trusting the Gym Leader given what happened in the last timeline. And I sure as heck am not abandoning you out here." With that, he unzipped the front entrance.
"So please come out and -" He stopped seeing why she wasn't wanting to come out.
Heading to the middle of the camp, he pulled out a Pokéball.
"Lucario. Can you check and see if there were any Auras besides us that were here last night?" Lucario's eyes turned blue, and he then growled.
"We had a Ghost here, Master. And he went into Serena's tent." Ash growled at that.
"Serena, more than likely it is in the Pokémon Tower, so no we can't leave you here."
"Aaaaooohh, COME ON!" She was heard shouting, which got Brock and Misty's attention.
"Ash. What happened?" Brock asked suspiciously, as Ash went into her tent.
When he came out, Serena was in her Showcase outfit.
"When did you practice last night, Serena? It's not like you to fall asleep in that dress." Serena took on a snarl.
"I didn't. I woke up and found my casual clothes GONE. All I had was this outfit! Even the fancier Ball gown was still here, and I'm sure as Reverse World NOT wearing that around here!" Lucario kept following a trail of Aura and then pointed one of his paws forward.
"The trail goes to Lavender Town. More than likely, they went into the Tower. Mistress's clothes will probably be there." He reported, as Serena grimaced.
"Serena, I'll carry you till we get to the pavement road of Lavender Town. Then I won't let go of your hand until we figure out which Ghost has it. I promise." Serena took on a blush but nodded at that.
At least one good thing came from this.
He had just hidden her clothes in a wardrobe in a dressing room and made sure they wouldn't get damaged in the slightest.
"GHASTLY!"
Oh great.
Here comes the fun police.
Turning around, he saw the middle friend glaring at him with his arms crossed.
Well as crossed as you can get them when you just have floating hands.
"Hello Haunter. Why did you shout my name in anger? I've done nothing wrong."
"DON'T TRY TO LIGHT UP THE TILT SIGN WITH ME, MR. TRAPDOOR! I SAW THOSE CLOTHES AND KNOW THAT THEY ARENT SOLD IN ANY SHOPS HERE IN LAVENDER TOWN!" Haunter angrily shouted at him, and he just sighed.
"She'll get them back when she comes here. She and her friends were going to come here anyway. I just added a little … predicament that she must overcome for when she gets here." Ghastly smugly told him as he made sure they hadn't fallen on the ground from his shouting.
"We have been over this MANY times, Ghastly! All pain includes EMOTIONAL OR SCARRING Pain! We're lucky Officer Jenny hasn't tried storming this place to get at us!" Ghastly just rolled his eyes.
Like they didn't already do that with their scare tactics.
Though, Officer Jenny would look really cute, scared falling down a trapdoor.
"DON'T EVEN THINK OF THAT, GHASTLY! DOING THAT TO OFFICER JENNY WOULD MAKE HER GET A RHYPERIOR AND BULLDOZE THIS PLACE DOWN!" Haunter yelled, exacerbated at Ghastly's inability to discern what he meant.
"I promise you; she will be alright. And that this will be the last time you ever see me." Haunted looked at him suspiciously, knowing he never had any interest in getting captured before.
"Do you think this is a joke!? That girls like who you have put in this situation are toys!? This needs to stop, Ghastly! Before you dig yourself a hole you can't get out of!" Haunter tried to reason with him, but Ghastly just shrugged.
"Hey guys! We got a group of 4 coming in!" Gengar had popped up from the floor, having heard the shouting, though probably not clearly enough to realize what the shouting was for.
"And one of them is in a dress, keep it under cont-" Gengar cut himself off when he saw the clothes in the wardrobe.
"FOR THE LOVE OF $ &%! GHASTLY! WHY DID YOU DO THIS $%* AGAIN!?" Ghastly 'jumped' back when Gengar began to curse.
It took a lot for him to swear.
"We are going to have a talk after this! Anyway, Gengar! You're with me! Ghastly you're on monitor duty! AND DON'T GET ANY BRIGHT IDEAS!" Haunter sternly told him, which he just shook his head at.
He took the time to make sure she came here in that dress.
He wasn't going to let this opportunity slip away.
"Well, here we are. The Pokémon Tower." Ash said as they stared up at it.
"One of two, actually. This used to be the home for the mayor, but when he passed away, Ghost Types began to visit. They have a more themed one at the Grave Tower as they call it, but this place has sentimental value to Lavender Townsfolk." Brock revealed.
Serena was just staring at the tower, given her knowledge of folk tales.
"Yeah, but what about the monsters that live here?" Misty and Brock started to look scared, while Ash was uneasy, but more annoyed.
"I have heard stories like this. A group of 4 arrive at a haunted area, looking to get something." She began in a shaky voice.
"Two boys and two girls, one of whom is a stunning beauty. When they enter, the party is separated one by one." She then shakily pointed to herself, clearly getting too entranced with her own tale.
"One of them gets pulled in through the walls, another after checking out a bedroom gets trapped in it, the last one is stuck in the attic. The Beauty is running all over the house trying to find her missing friends, unaware she is being watched!"
"She runs into the main entrance area, and then a Trapdoor swallows her whole."
"Her friends manage to get out of their traps, the one who got pulled into the walls managing to get out through a flip bookcase, the one stuck in the bedroom lockpicked her way out, and the last one was able to get out through the window and go down at a balcony, and start searching the house for her, not wanting to leave her in there. But then, they meet a creature, who's eyes shine so bright they are blinded!" Serena acted like something blinded her.
"When the sun rises, the other three leave the building, and they act like the beauty never existed, not even remembering that she was with them before they entered the building!" Serena then seemed to come back to reality and covered her mouth.
"Oh goodness I said that out loud, didn't I?" Misty and Brock were staring at her in absolute terror, and nervously looked back at the house.
"Guys! We'll be fine! Last time I was here alone, the ghosts were more comedians than dangerous spirits, I even teased you guys as a ghost!" Misty suddenly started choking him.
"THAT WAS YOU!? YOU WERE THE ONE WHO DROPPED ME FROM THE SKY!?" She yelled as Brock desperately tried to get her off him.
"Well, yeah! I was a ghost by that point! Why couldn't I have a bit of fun? I knew Brock was going to catch you." Ash choked out.
"Misty, we'll deal with this later! Right now, we must convince Haunter to come with us in case Ash's plan doesn't work!" He pointed out, as Misty growled at Ash and let him go.
No one noticed Serena in a daydream of her being lifted by a ghostly Ash.
"Alright, Greninja, Lucario, you're up front with Pikachu." He called out as he released Greninja and Lucario from their balls.
"I will give you that. Starmie, Staryu! Keep your Psychic up!"
"I would bring out Steelix or Geodude, but given the state of this place, I don't think it would be a good idea." If Brock were able to see inside his Pokéballs, he would have seen Geodude sigh.
They were about 3 weeks into their journey, and he still hadn't evolved.
"Braixen, Rattata, Zoroark. Keep an eye out." Serena told her friends, as Rattata began to bite his teeth together.
"I see you guys had the same idea." A familiar voice called out to them.
"Ritchie? What are you doing here?" The friendly rival just smiled.
"Heard a good place to get some expert Ghost types was to come to this tower if I didn't want to work up from a Ghastly. I'm going to see if one of the three here wants to come with me, if not, I'll happily catch a Ghastly at the Grave Tower." He told them as the door slowly creaked open.
"Guess that means we're invited in." Ash said, as they slowly crept in.
"OK, we got a group of 5, not counting all the Pokémon they got out." Ghastly reported, as Haunter and Gengar were in position.
"Cripes. One of them is a Lucario, we ain't got a lot of choice but to knock him out first." Gengar noted, as Haunter quickly took a route through his floating head.
"OK, we go for the dropping chandelier first, that should scatter them. And no, Ghastly, that is not an invitation to drop her through a trapdoor!" Haunter said, with Gengar quickly shooting a nasty glare back at Ghastly's little hideout.
Ghastly didn't even flinch.
He would drop her one way or another.
Even if he had to put his friends on the defensive.
"OK. So far, nothing." Ash said as they cautiously made their way into the house.
"Still, these Ghosts love the hideout and scare tactics." Brock pointed out, as he hid behind Misty, despite him being taller than her.
"And even then, they don't have a scent. I can't track 'em!" Pikachu told him, staying close to Sylveon.
"And this place is drenched in Ghost Type Aura, I can't get an accurate vision around here!" Lucario growled out, as Greninja just started looking around.
"So, are they in? Or are they taking the night off?" Serena nervously asked as she clung onto the back of Ash.
"I highly doubt they would take the night off, if anything I bet, they would be asleep during the day, since why would people come during the day?" Ash pointed out, as he kept one eye closed, trying to get a sense of the most recent aura.
"Well, maybe they are hiding in different rooms, or are currently keeping an eye on us above before they drop something on our heads." Ritchie pointed out.
Haunter and Gengar had just about gotten the chandelier ready to fall when they heard Ritchie say that.
"Dang that kid is good." Gengar said as he floated away.
"Ok, any other options?" Haunter asked …
Before he had to dodge a sudden dropped axe.
"WHAT THE!" Gengar shouted before a hammer slammed him on the head.
"GHASTLY! WHAT THE FLIPPING GIRATINA ARE YOU – WHOA!" Haunter just barely got grazed by an electrified baton.
And then he saw the chandelier get dropped anyway, and numerous pieces of debris heading for the people.
Everyone suddenly began to hear sounds of crashing and pain.
"What's happening!?" Serena cried out …
Before a Gengar suddenly faceplanted in front of them.
"Well, there's one of -" But Ritchie was cut off when he dodged an axe that had been above him.
"This didn't happen la-" But EVERYONE was sent running for cover when the Chandelier slammed into the ground.
Ash and Serena had pressed against the wall, trying to avoid anything else …
When an axe came out of the wall In-between them.
Ash ran to one side, Serena pressed against the wall next to her.
"YES! Got her to let go of her annoying boyfriend! Now to separate her from everyone!" Ghastly cackled, as he then made a button appear behind her right foot.
Which she stepped on and got separated.
Serena was breathing heavily, trying to stay calm.
What on earth was going on!?
From what Ash described, the Ghost Types were fun loving, not Axe Crazed maniacs.
She just had to work her way to the front door via the wall and then –
*CLICK! *
Quickly looking down, she saw her right foot had stepped on a button …
And then the wall flipped over with her on top of it.
"KYA!" Ash quickly looked and saw a part of the wall flip backwards …
With Serena falling backwards into it.
"SERENA!" Taking off like a Arcanine, he got there just as the section was flush with the wall again.
Sylveon tried to rush over to the section, but a hole suddenly opened underneath her.
"HELP!" She cried out as Pikachu tried to catch one of her feelers, only to miss by inches and he saw her going down a pipe.
Braixen was trying to figure out where the Ghost that was causing this was, determined to get her trainer back.
Unfortunately, she was not aware of a fish line gripping her back.
It yanked her up, and she dropped her branch.
"GRENINJA, HEELLLLPPPP!" She shouted, which Greninja tried to lasso her with his tongue, but a Shadow Ball blasted his tongue out of the way.
"BRAIXEN!" He called out as she disappeared into the ceiling.
Zoroark had just dodged out of the way of an anvil by making an illusion of herself and dodging out of the way.
She had a Revive on her, so she maneuvered to Gengar and put it in his mouth.
An electrified prod suddenly began to head for her when Lucario used Extreme Speed to get in front of her and caught it.
Zoroark stared at Lucario and began to blush at how he instantly protected her.
She was brought out of her stupor when Gengar grabbed her and floated her away from the hole that had tried to open underneath her.
Ash was punching the wall where Serena had been, but the wall seemed to now be a regular wall.
"SERENAAAAA!"
"YES! I GOT HER!" Ghastly roared in triumph at being able to separate the girl from the others.
Granted, he couldn't get rid of the weird black fox Pokémon she brought with her, but he got rid of the other 2.
Looking at one of the cameras, he saw the Fire Fox trying to burn her way out.
He couldn't help but smirk.
When she had been yanked up by that fish line, Braixen found herself in what looked like a steel room.
There were no windows, no soft spots on the floor, it was like the room was separate from reality.
"Like this is going to stop me from reuniting with Serena and Greninja!" Braixen shouted as she lit off several Fire Blasts, trying to warp or melt the steel so she could get out.
Two minutes in and nothing was getting productive.
Worse, she felt herself getting weaker and weaker from the walls.
"I can't give up. Serena needs me, and Greninja, despite his attempts to be stoic, always got extremely worried about us if we were separated for too long. I must find a way out!" She shakily stood again, ready to unleash a Flamethrower this time.
"I WOULD BE CAREFUL WITH HOW MUCH FLAMES YOU PUT IN THAT ROOM." A voice on an intercom system said, as she tried to find the source.
"WHILE THERE ARE AIRHOLES TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SUFFOCATE, THEY MIGHT NOT BE ENOUGH TO PREVENT YOU FROM MAKING TOO MANY FLAMES AND DEPRIVING YOURSELF OF YOUR MUCH NEEDED OXYGEN!" Braixen got nervous.
The voice was right, if she put too many flames into the room, she would use up her oxygen supply rapidly to where she would pass out.
She stopped herself and just curled up in a ball in the corner.
All she could hope for was Greninja or someone to get her out of here.
Sylveon had been trying to dig out of the room she was trapped in, but the floor was steel.
The walls weren't made of steel, but she had no way of softening the walls so she could dig.
She had been trying to use Fairy Wind to lift herself into the air, but she kept losing control of the wind before she could get the liftoff.
"CAREFUL, YOU DON'T WANT TO CREATE A VACCUM IN THERE, BEFORE YOU STUD CHU GETS YOU!" A smug voice called out, as Sylveon then stopped and let herself rest a bit.
She was out giving up by a long shot, but the voice was right.
If she kept trying to brute force her way out, she might injure herself or suck out the air she needed.
"Please, my darling PikaPi, save me." She whispered as she laid down.
Serena had been sliding headfirst into darkness, not really knowing where she was going.
'I'M GONNA DIE I'M GONNA DIE I'M GONNA DIE!' Was all that was going through her head as she slid, being in a panic at remembering her story.
Suddenly, she felt herself no longer sliding down and felt like she was in the air …
Before she landed on a pile of pillows.
"Where am I?" She said as she saw she was in some kind of dining room with everything set for a feast minus the food.
Serena began to push against the walls, trying to find a way out until she saw a door.
"SORRY, BUT I'M NOT STICKING AROUND TO SEE WHY YOU SEPARATED ME FROM EVERYONE!" She shouted, rushing straight for the door …
Before it was revealed to be a trick as it rolled up and she slammed face first into the wall.
"OW! NOT FUNNY!" She screamed as she then saw a party ball with a string that said, "PULL ME!"
Serena first began checking around the room looking for another way out, until she basically had no choice BUT to pull it.
Moment she did, all the chairs, plates, and even the table ITSELF began to float around.
Serena was now absolutely ducking and weaving to avoid serious injury …
Especially when she saw the forks and knives embedded in the wall 4 inches in.
She was now punching every wall, stomping every chance she could, just trying to find a way out.
"WHERE'S THE EXIT!?"
IFK. (IDENTIFIED FLYING KNIFE.)
"LET ME OUT!"
Ghastly had been watching her the entire time, just smirking.
And when she began shouting for a way put, he heard her in a slightly annoyed tone instead of the sheer panic she was emitting.
"Now for her next room." With that, he opened a trapdoor right under her feet.
Serena had gotten to the Center of the room, as that seemed to be a blind spot for all the flying objects.
"PLEASE! IF ANYONE CAN HEAR ME, GET ME OUT OF-"
*THWUMP! *
"HHHEEEEEEEeeerrrrreeee!"
Her echo as a trapdoor opened underneath her was heard only in the room, as the flying objects finally settled back down into their original positions.
As if nothing had ever touched them.
(BACK WITH THE OTHERS!)
A piece of wall had tried to fall towards Ash, but Haunter used Shadow Ball to blow it to pieces.
"Has Ghastly always acted like this?" He growled out, as Gengar was walking with Ritchie, while Brock and Misty were bringing up the rear.
"He has done this before, but never to this extent. His favorite gag is to drop people down trapdoors. His favorite are girls, particularly ones who wear a dress of some kind and fancy shoes or heels. He would go out of hand a bit to drop them, but he NEVER went to the extent of just outright stealing their regular clothes!"
Ash mentally noted that Ghastly didn't really do that much last timeline.
He reported that they were in the house last timeline, and from what Team Rocket told him after they met again in Vermillion, Ghastly kept them preoccupied while his friends played tricks on them.
He didn't act this way around Misty or Jessie, so what happened.
"Anyway, do you know where Ghastly currently is?"
"We're here. Basically, when he isn't corralling people into various directions, he's up here giving us directions for where certain traps are, the position of others, the works." Everyone then groaned when they saw the door was covered in anti-ghost charms.
"And the door is made of steel. GREAAATT." Ash grated out.
"Well, we can't get in by just OPENING the door. Is there a room underneath?" Greninja asked, only to groan upon Gengar shaking his head.
"Is there ANYTHING Ghastly would go for that we could tempt him out with?" Misty asked, just wanting this to stop and get her friend back.
"Well, he absolutely gorges on food. Don't know why, food phases right through us, but he absolutely loves gourmet food." Haunter told them, which got Brock to smirk.
"What's his favorite food?"
Serena was stuck in a tube, with no way out except up, and she had a good feeling that the only other way out was down.
Still, it was quite claustrophobic.
"LET ME OUT OF HERE! LET ME OUT OF HERE!" She could be heard if any of her friends could hear her.
Finally, the floor gave way as she continued to slide down and came out into a new room.
One which she bounced off the floor with her butt.
"OOOOWWWW!" She cried out as she rubbed her soreness away.
(TO FANS OF THE OLD SCHOOL SCOOBY-DOO SHOW, I THINK YOU'LL RECOGNIZE WHICH EPISODE I PAYED HOMAGE TO THERE!)
"When I find the one putting me through all this, they are going to die. Unless they are Ghosts in which case, better hope for an afterlife for ghosts!" She called out as she began to press against the walls, and stomping her feet on the floor, trying to see if there was another trapdoor.
Ghastly was just chuckling at the scene as he saw her beginning to panic.
Just had to keep her trapped down there for about a day before she could leave.
And he was going to have so much fun dropping her down more –
Was he smelling grilled mackerel fish?
NO! MUST FOCUS ON CUTE GIRL IN DRESS! HE WOULD NOT BE FOOLED BY -
Was that soy sauce and Miriam?
BAAANNNNZZZZAAAAAIIII!
"You sure he's going to run out to get this?" Ash asked, as Ritchie and Misty were literally fanning the flames for the piece of fish and drizzling some soy sauce and Miriam.
(IF ANYONE IS WONDERING WHAT'S WITH THE MIRIAM, LOOK UP THE ALBERT_CANCOOK CUBAN SANDWICH SHORT VIDEO, AND WATCH THE PART WHERE THEY START POURING STUFF INTO THE BAG, THAT'S WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY, BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY WAY OF SEEING IF IT'S A DIFFERENT INGREDIENT. FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME ON WHAT IT IS THEY ARE SAYING.)
"Trust me, doofus always comes running when he smells this stuff, ESPECIALLY with how your friend cooked it." Haunter told him as everyone was hiding out of sight.
"OOOHHHH GHAAASSSTLLLLYYYYY! IT'S YOUR FAVORITE, SMOKED MACKERAL WITH SOY SAUCE AND MIRIAM! IT'S TIME TO CELEBRAAAAATTTTEEE!" Gengar called out as everyone then waited for him to come running.
"SMOKED MACKERAL WITH SOY SAUCE AND MIRIAM! IT'S A FEAST TONIGHT!" A perfect English phrase was heard as a crash sound happened and they saw the first stage Ghost Type charging through the hallway.
He was just about to rush for the fish when he stopped about two feet in front of it.
"Wait. What kind of trap is this? And am I still going to get the fishy if I fall for it?" He asked …
Before Greninja and Zoroark body slammed him, then Tentacruel appeared and wrapped them up to make sure that they didn't fail in keeping him trapped, and he saw that they had placed him on top of some anti-ghost charms, so he couldn't just phase through the floor.
"KEEP HIM DOWN!" Ash called out as everyone did their best to restrain Ghastly, as Ash and Haunter rushed into the observation room.
Quickly, he saw where Serena and her Pokémon were trapped.
"PIKACHU! GRENINJA! WITH ME AND HAUNTER! WE'RE GETTING THEM OUT!" After making sure the others were keeping Ghastly pinned down, they quickly ran all the way to the basement.
Braixen was sobbing in the corner of the room she was trapped in.
She had tried to get out, but no luck.
The steel wouldn't melt, and she doubted that she could get the necessary temperature to do so.
At least not without it collapsing on her or her getting injured in a fall.
"Greninja, please. Help me." She whispered as she began to shed more tears.
*BANG! *
Braixen shot her head up when she heard that.
*BANG! *
It was even closer!
Looking around, she saw the wall ahead of her start to take on a bulge at the point where the wall met the floor.
*SCHHREEEEEK! *
With that, the bulge was rent asunder …
And Greninja climbed up through it.
Braixen stared at him with tears in her eyes …
Before she tackled him in an embrace.
"GRENINJA!"
"There, there. It's going to be alright, Braixen. You're not going to be stuck in this cage anymore."
Braixen continued to cry happily as Greninja picked her up bridal style and leapt back through the hole he made.
Sylveon was curled up in a ball in one of the corners.
She had tried Fairy Wind, Moon Blast, and even tried to figure out how to use Iron Tail.
None of it worked and she ended up with a sore tail since she couldn't figure out how to get the Steel energy to form it.
All she could do now was wait in a corner and hope someone would come to her rescue.
"If only I could have seen my PikaPi one last time." She sadly thought as a tear escaped her eye.
*THUNK! *
What the …?
*THUNK! *
Sylveon whirled her head around and saw a dent in the wall bulging towards her.
*SCHREEEEEOOOONNKK! *
Bursting right through the wall, very nearly electrifying the room, and skidding to a stop …
Was Pikachu, with his tail electrified with Steel.
Sylveon stared in amazement at Pikachu, as he rushed over to her.
"SYLVIE! ARE YOU OK!?" Sylveon kept staring at him in amazement, then she teared up and slammed into him.
"THANK YOU! THANK YOU, MY DARLING PIKAPI!" She just kept repeating repeatedly.
Pikachu smiled, and motioned with his head towards the hole.
Serena was crying.
She had tried to find a secret exit in the room she was trapped in, but no luck.
Not that she could do anything now, whoever it was that was keeping her separated from the others clearly wanted her to stay there.
She then remembered her story, of the beauty who disappeared in a haunted house and her friends getting brainwashed to thinking she never existed.
Was that to be her fate?
Doomed to spend the rest of her life in this tower, at the whims of a ghost?
"Ash, please, if you can hear me, help me. Please." She whispered in her mind, hoping that somehow, he would hear her.
"Are … she … in here?"
Serena began to look around, thinking she had heard Ash's voice.
When she saw nothing but the empty room beside her, she lowered her head back down.
"Of course I would imagine it. Like he would be able to find me by this point."
"I SEE … IN THIS … STAND BACK!"
With that, she began to hear a thumping sound.
Looking around, realizing she had NOT imagined that she began to wildly swing her arms around, in some vein hope of him seeing her.
"ASH, I'M HERE! PLEASE, HELP ME! I'VE BEEN STUCK HERE! PLEASE, SAVE ME!"
Suddenly, a Ghost Type grabbed her and pulled her away from the wall …
Before it came crashing down.
And standing there, was Ash and his Lucario.
"ALRIGHT, YOU! NOW WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JUST GO AHEAD WITH THIS DESPITE US NEVER USING THAT STUFF!?" Gengar yelled.
Ghastly had literally been tied up with rope that had anti-ghost charms so he couldn't just phase through it.
Even then, he just laughed.
"Seriously, Serena could have gotten seriously hurt because of this! And you treat this like a joke!?" Ritchie yelled, as he had been looking forward to fighting Ash again after what happened on the S.S. Anne.
"Sometimes, there are Pokémon like this. They think things are funny but don't think the consequences through." Brock explained as he had finished cooking the fish and offering it to Ghastly.
Very nearly lost his arm when Ghastly grew to double his size and tried to bite down on it to get the fish.
"WATCH IT! THAT'S THE ONLY FISH YOU'RE GETTING AFTER WHAT YOU PULLED!" Ghastly huffed and just floated there.
When a door creaked open, everyone saw Ash, Pikachu, and Greninja walking in with the girls.
"How's it been with him?" Brock glared at Ghastly who just sneered.
"He's been uncooperative with us. He hasn't been talking and Haunter has gone off to find something, don't know what." Serena glared at Ghastly, given the dialogue they just shared, it was clear she had figured out who had put her through all of this.
"So, anyone know what to do with him? I am not trusting him on his own." Ash pointed out as everyone looked at Ghastly who just did the gas equivalent of a shrug.
"Found them." Haunter then floated down from a hole in the ceiling …
Holding Serena's backpack and her regular clothes.
"I assume these are yours?" Serena began to make strangling noises as she literally glared daggers at Ghastly.
"YOU took my clothes!? AND made me run around in this haunted Reverse World ALL SO YOU COULD DROP ME DOWN A TRAPDOOR IN MY BEST OUTFIT!?" Despite how angered Serena was, Ghastly just gave her a cocky smirk.
"LET'S SEE IF YOU FIND THIS FUNNY!" She reached into her bag, threw something at Ghastly …
And then Ghastly got sucked into a Level Ball.
Which given how technically everyone overpowered him now, did an immediate ding akin to that of a Master Ball.
Everyone stared at it, with Serena breaking out in a cold sweat.
"Did … you mean to … ya know … do that?" Ash hesitantly asked, as Serena began to hyperventilate.
"I MEANT TO THROW RIOLU'S BALL! NOT CAPTURE THE STUPID GHOST!" She screamed as everyone just gulped.
Haunter rubbed his floating head, realizing that Ghastly also probably LET himself get caught.
"We'll decide how to deal with him later. We were planning on coming here already, but that was to try and run into you, Haunter." Haunter then looked surprised at Ash.
"I know a ton of people come here to try and get a special ghost, but I don't get why you would specifically seek me out."
"It's because this technically isn't the first time we've met. We met in a previous timeline where your gag persona helped out with a Gym Leader. I was planning on fighting her myself this time, but as a backup I could use your help." Ash then held out his hand.
"I can give you your memories of the previous timeline back, if you want." Haunter stared at the hand, contemplating if he could trust this kid.
He came to the decision that this kid must have been a good friend of his, and he did work well with him in stopping Ghastly here.
Might as well take the chance.
Plus, he could probably get shocked by a hand buzzer.
That's always fun.
He took the hand…
And both he and Ash were pulled into a memory.
Ash looked around and realized he was in Saffron City.
And looking at the date, it was during his time traveling Kanto taking on the Battle Frontier.
He then saw Haunter floating around the city, looking very pleased with himself.
"Well, Sabrina doesn't need me anymore to keep her other self from controlling her anymore. Ash is traveling through Kanto again; hope he comes here! I want to travel with him this time!" Ash couldn't help but chuckle.
"Sorry Haunter, but I wouldn't trade Gengar any day now, I could help you get a new trainer though." Ash said, knowing now that Haunter had wanted to travel with him.
Suddenly, a Dark Pulse slammed into his side, knocking him out of the air.
Then, a Houndoom pinned Haunter to the ground, leaving him unable to move.
"Good. I found a good Ghost Type, one That can evolve into an unbeatable force if trained remorselessly." Ash's eyes widened when he heard that voice.
Arceus, if this was who he thought it was, he would PERSONALLY kick the crap out of him.
In the shadows a figure walked out, holding an Ultra Ball.
Haunter's eyes widened in terror at seeing this, then tried to blast the ground in a vein hope of escaping.
"Struggle all you like; I spent too much time trying to track down a Ghost like you." With that, he threw the Ultra Ball, and Houndoom forced it to stay shut until the capture process was complete.
It then showed different days of the jerk "TOUGHENING UP" Haunter, which equated to a more severe version of how Paul tried to train Chimchar.
Then the scene he was dreading.
One day, after a particularly brutal training period, the monster then brought it out.
A Link Cable.
"Your training has been going great. Now to put the final nail in the coffin." Haunter was again held down by a Houndoom and a Zoroark.
Haunter then looked to his right and Ash very nearly had a heart attack.
He saw himself, Brock, May and Max walking by, with Haunter calling out to him.
Unfortunately, he was weakened to where it sounded like a pitiful moan, and past Ash just walked away, not aware of what was going on.
Haunter then gained tears in his eyes, as his one hope of escape had walked away.
And then the Link Cable did its job.
And Gengar just looked around like a confused child.
And Ash immediately saw HIS face.
The same Trainer who had abandoned Gengar in the house that would become the future laboratory of Professor CERISE.
Ash then saw years go by where Gengar either completely ignored his trainer or did something that would inconvenience him.
Guess while Haunter had been partially erased, enough remained to where he wouldn't listen to this smuckbag.
Ash then saw the familiar story of Gengar and saw how he had once again helped a Pokémon he once knew.
And then he felt himself going back to reality …
And when he came back, he was holding the hand of a Gengar who was looking at him in shock.
"Gengar, do you remember me?" Nod of the oversized head.
"Do you still have your memories as a Haunter before HE erased them?" Gengar proceeded to lick his own face, and then showed his eyes on his tongue in a comical way.
He then hugged Gengar, while bawling his eyes out.
"I'M SORRY! I'M SO SORRY! I WOULD HAVE SAVED YOU SOMEHOW IF I COULD! I WOULD HAVE LET YOU ON MY TEAM IF I KNEW YOU HAD WANTED TO COME WITH ME BACK IN THE DAY!" Gengar just laughed and patted his shoulder.
"Well, I probably should have just let you capture me when we got Sabrina free from her psychic powers. So that was my fault for waiting so long. Here's to second chances, right?" He said as he held out his clawed hand. Ash smiled and shook it.
And then something fell on his head.
Picking it up, he couldn't help but laugh.
"Well, we can test our bond later with this, and personally, I never did like Gigantimaxing, how about you?" Gengar laughed and made a motion with his hand (THINK JOHN CENA'S YOU CAN'T SEE ME MOTION.) showing that he agreed with him.
"What did you get?" Ritchie asked …
As he comically bumped into the other Gengar, who faceplanted on the ground.
"It's a Gengarite! With this, we could get his Mega Evolution!" HE said, as he revealed two stones in his hand.
"Well, that's awesome. I take it Serena's getting the other one?" Serena grimaced, having not wanted to catch Ghastly after what he did, and now she was stuck with him.
"ARCEUS ABOVE, NO!" Serena screamed as Ritchie jumped in fright …
And knocked a beam down on top of the other Gengar.
"Uh, sorry?" He nervously said …
As Gengar then floated up, grabbed the beam, and knocked Ritchie on the back of the head.
And then Ritchie turned with googly eyeglasses as he pretended to get hit hard enough that his eyes were bugging out.
They both stared at each other and began to laugh.
"You wanna come with me or just float beside me?"
Gengar floated one of Ritchie's Pokéballs to himself and went in.
"Well, I guess I was worthy of becoming his trainer." He then jumped when Ash tossed him the other Gengarite.
"I'd ask for a battle, but we definitely need some time to recover from this, and for Serena to get dressed."
"Well, I'd be up for a two v two. What do ya say?" Ash smirked and both he and Ritchie went outside.
(OUTSIDE THE TOWER! NEAR THE POKÉCENTER!)
"Alright, Ritchie! You start us off!"
"Sounds good! Happy! Let's do it!" With that, Ritchie released the flying bug that had taken out his Squirtle and nearly defeated Pikachu last time.
"Well then, Butterfree! I choose you!" With that, his first ever Pokémon (not counting time travel shenanigans) appeared and stared at the opponent that had cost his trainer the Indigo league.
"Happy, use Psywave!" Happy wasted no time, sending a wave of energy straight at Butterfree.
"Dodge and set up!" Butterfree, if one knew the anatomy of a Butterfree face, would have noticed that his face turned into a smirk as he dodged the Psywave and began to beat his wings as wind began to kick up.
"Sorry, but Gust isn't gonna be enough to stop us! Happy, Tackle him!" Happy charged through the air, intent on slamming into his bug cousin.
"LET THE RAZOR WIND LOOSE, BUTTERFREE!" Happy and Ritchie gulped.
Yeah, that was a dumb move on their part.
Happy had just turned to the side trying to use his Tackle speed to dodge …
When he saw Butterfree had been aiming at where he was going.
Happy felt like his body was getting sliced when the Razor Wind connected and very nearly tumbled out of the sky.
"Happy! Use Energy ball!"
"Same with you, Butterfree!" With that, both sides began to send Energy balls repeatedly.
And were in a bit of a stalemate.
"FINALLY! BACK IN SOMETHING COMFORTABLE!" Serena called out as she was finally back in her casual clothes and had her friends back.
The only reason Braixen, Sylveon and Zoroark had been out, was because their Pokéballs hadn't been with her regular clothes when they got stolen by Ghastly.
"At least he made sure to take care of them, Serena. Otherwise, we might be delayed a bit for you to sew them back together." Misty pointed out, before noticing Brock looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"I know how to sew as well, Misty. I took care of my siblings remember?" Misty nervously laughed, seeing his point.
"Let's just get going before Ghastly tries to drop me down a trapdoor again." Serena solemnly said, as they exited the Tower.
When they were near the PokéCenter, Serena saw two Butterfree fighting each other.
Smiling, she pulled out Sakura's ball and threw it.
"So, are we beginning a practice session?" Sakura asked before Serena pointed behind her.
"I think our boys could use a good pep talk! What do you say to cheering them on?" Sakura smiled and flew over to the field.
With Serena in hot pursuit.
"What do you think, Brock? Mock battle so we can train?" Brock smirked.
"My Steelix vs your Tentacruel. Let's go." Misty smirked as they went to another battlefield.
Butterfree was getting rather winded.
Happy had been able to keep up with him, and he wasn't falling for the Razor Wind trick again.
And he was starting to fall back.
"Had … enough … my inferior … doppelganger?" Happy said in between breaths.
"What's … the matter … cousin? Am I… too much of … a bug type … for you to …handle?" Butterfree responded sarcastically calling Happy his cousin even though they weren't related.
Happy then began to spew powder all over the place, while Butterfree then held his breath.
'Not gonna get spored, not gonna get spored, not gonna get spore!' He kept repeatedly saying in his head.
"SMOPSY BUG!" Butterfree turned in shock when he heard his wife.
"C'MON, SMOPSY BUG! YOU WOULDN'T LOSE TO SOMEONE LIKE HIM! STOP HOLDING BACK!" Butterfree stared at his wife.
Then sent an orb into the sky.
"Sunny day?" Ritchie asked confused as the sun appeared for one moment …
Before disappearing due to it being Lavender Town.
That was enough for Butterfree to unleash a Solar Beam, however.
And thanks to the spores Happy had been spewing, they ignited and blew up around him.
When the smoke cleared, Happy was on the ground with swirly eyes.
Ritchie stared, absolutely gob smacked at the absolute damage Ash's Butterfree did.
"Well, Happy clearly needs a lot more training to get up to that level. But I still have one guy left. Let's go, DRAKE!" With that, Ritchie threw out a Safari ball and revealed a Dratini.
Ash let out a sigh of relief when he saw it wasn't his Dragonite.
"Well, I haven't used this one in a while. ODIN! LET'S GO!" With that, his Poison Type appeared on the field.
"LET'S RAN IT AND ORAN TO THE GROUND!" Ash heard broken pieces of what Odin said, as Serena released Freya, who cheered for her boyfriend.
"Drake, use Agility!" Soon Drake was slithering around at a near invisible speed, causing Odin to look confused as to what the plan was.
"Odin, Ice Beam the ground!" Jumping into the air, Odin quickly began to spin around and spread ice all over the battlefield.
Drake hit it while he was zooming around, and very nearly slid off the battlefield.
"Drake!" Ritchie called out on worry as Drake was having a hard time righting himself to face his opponent and was getting very dizzy from the spins he was doing.
"Try that move you were training with Greninja!" Ash called out, as Odin turned around and grew a claw made of darkness and dove straight for Drake.
It connected and Drake went flying.
"Now connect with an Ice Beam!" He ordered as the blue beam connected with Drake's midsection and began to freeze over.
Everyone became concerned for Drake when he plummeted to the ground surrounded in ice.
"CATCH HIM!" Ash cried as Odin rushed over to make sure his opponent wasn't too injured.
At least, until he began to glow, and a silver blur slammed into Odin's head.
When everyone looked, a bigger, darker blue dragon stood before them.
"Alright, Drake! Nice job evolving into a Dragonair! And learning Iron Tail! Now let's see if you can do a Twister!" Drake began to spin his tail around in a circle as the wind began to lift Odin, who was flailing around trying to get his bearings back.
"Now Thunderbolt!" Drake released a massive electrical attack straight into the twister, and since Odin had nowhere to go, the bolt struck him dead in the center.
Then the twister stopped, and Odin fell to the ground, motionless.
Even though Ritchie was sure he was the winner, he didn't want to take the risk.
"Finish it with Iron Tail!" He yelled as Drake's tail glowed silver, and he was about to slam it down into Odin.
When Odin, in a sudden blur, slammed his pointed horn right into Drake's gut.
Drake was pushed back, but he still refused to give up …
At least until he suddenly flashed purple.
Seeing this, Ash immediately hoped Odin's training with Butterfree paid off, to fine tune it from what happened at the S.S Anne.
"USE VENOSHOCK!" He shouted as several purple pins shot off Odin's body and homed in on the spot Odin had struck.
Drake's entire body glowed purple as he screamed in pain.
"DRAKE! TRY IRON TAIL ONE MORE TIME!" Glaring at Odin through the pain, Drake slammed his tail into the ground and sprang into the air.
Odin kept track as he then made his Shadow Claw ready and leaped to meet Drake in midair.
The two attacks collided, and a massive orb began to expand outward from the energy that the two were putting into the attacks.
Misty and Brock's training had been going …
Ok.
As ok as a Water/Poison type versus a Steel/Ground type could go when one knows how to use both sides.
Which given how Brock knew Steelix since he was gifted as an Onix to Brock, and Misty knew everything there was minus raising a Tentacool, let alone a Tentacruel, it was even.
"Last chance to back out, Misty!" Brock called out.
Misty raised an eyebrow at that and looked at Tentacruel.
"What do ya think, Tenta? Should we throw in the towel?" She jokingly asked her new friend, who just shot out a Hydro Pump at Steelix, who once again dug underground to avoid it.
"Tenta! Get a Surf attack ready!" Tenta began to summon as much water as he could from the air and himself, as Steelix then began to come up to strike him.
Just as he emerged, a massive shockwave knocked BOTH off-balance.
Steelix collided with the water Tentacruel had prepared, while Tentacruel got hit in the center of the membrane from the Ground energy Steelix had.
Which was enough to knock them both out.
Misty and Brock stared at what happened then in the direction the shockwave came from.
"Call it a tie?" Brock asked.
"Might was well given how Ash screwed us over." Misty replied as she returned Tenta and Brock returned Steelix.
Ash and Ritchie had both covered their faces from the blast, as the winds finally died down.
Serena had arrived at Ash's side along with Sylveon, Sakura and Freya with her as the dust began to clear.
Both Drake and Odin were on the ground, neither moving, and their eyes closed.
Both held their breaths, thinking it was a Double KO, before they both stirred.
Odin slammed his feet into the ground as he pushed himself up, glaring right at Drake.
Drake had a harder time due to not having limbs, but he also managed to stand and look down at Odin.
Both stared at each other, before Odin smiled at Drake, showing respect for the dragon …
And then falling forward with his eyes in swirls.
Drake smirked, before he jolted glowing purple before falling forward as well with swirly eyes.
"Given how Odin fainted moments before Drake, I think that means Drake is the winner. And Butterfree is BARELY able to continue fighting, so I just BARELY eeked out a win there, Ritchie." Ritchie sighed, but then smiled as he sprayed an antidote and potion on Drake, while Ash fed Odin an Oran Berry.
They both shakily stood up, then let the aggression get out of their systems and smiled at each other.
"Not bad, for a water dragon outta water." Ash smiled as he finally seemed to be able to understand Odin.
"Air, Drag, Dragonair." Ash sighed at him still being unable to understand another Pokémon, but if he could, it would happen when it happened.
"I think we could all use a rest after what happened today, or night. Whatever time it was, so let's head over to the Pokécenter and get them healed up." Ash said as he returned Odin to his ball.
"So, feel ready for that Sabrina rematch?" Misty asked as she and Brock arrived.
"I'll tell you later. Don't know if she's listening right now or something. And Ritchie's fight makes me wonder how Alain is doing."
(IN CELADON CITY!)
"AND WITH AN EARTHQUAKE, TYRANITAR HAS BEATEN ERIKA'S VENASAUR! ALAIN HAS WON ALL THREE ROUNDS!" Alain let out a sigh of relief.
He had to admit, despite Venasaur not being Mega Evolved, that Chlorophyll ability nearly wrecked him.
Not to mention his Pidgeotto was almost taken out by Tangela, Charizard almost lost his lunch to her Gloom, and the fact that he had to try to follow a guide of a first, second and third stage evolution.
Hard to do when you're a Mega specialist.
As such, the ONLY first stage evolution he had on him was currently with Mairin as he had given her the Pokémon for training!
And the fact that the only Pokémon on hand were Tyranitar, Pidgeotto and Charizard posed a bit of a problem, even with the handicap of not using mega evolution for the fight.
He had sent some Pokémon that he had found capable of Mega Evolution for Sycamore to study.
As such, he had a rather tough time beating Erica.
Thankfully, his trust in his friends won through, though they would have to step up their training once they were healed up.
"Would have been better if you had a first stage on you, but great battle anyway! Here is your Rainbow Badge!" The Gym Leader told him, as he accepted the badge.
"Thank you, I will keep training." He absently said, as he headed put.
Once he came out, he saw Mairin running up to him.
"So, how'd it go? It went great with Slowpoke's training!" Alain just sighed.
"You were right, I should have kept Slowpoke on me. I needed him for the challenge of the Gym." Mairin smirked.
"Toldja. Which Gym is next?" Alain then pointed east.
"Saffron, but from what I've heard, the Gym Leader there is one of the toughest gyms there is, so we'll save that for later. We'll cut through Saffron to get to Vermillion." Mairin nodded, then felt Chespie doing a drum roll on her head.
"Chespie! We don't need a Drum roll for a training montage!" She faux annoyingly told her friend, who just snickered.
"Chespie is right though. I need to make sure my team isn't slacking off for a rematch with Ash if we run into him again." With that, they exited the city, and went into a clearing.
Alain threw out six Pokéballs and Mairin threw out two.
A Pidgeotto, a Kangaskhan, a Pinsir, a Scyther, Metagross, Charizard, Slowpoke and Tyranitar came out.
"Alright, you lot! Listen up! We got to do some extra training, since the Psychic Gym Leader is known to do strange things to challengers and Surge has a Type advantage against half of you! It's time to step up our training!" His Pokémon nodded and looked eager.
"We still can't use Mega Evolution against any of the leaders here since Kanto hasn't yet gotten the Keystones or Mega Stones yet. We just got lucky with Ash. All we have is the Charizardite X I had last time. Those who are capable of Mega evolution right now, start training with each other." Tyranitar, Charizard, Metagross, Pinsir and Kangaskhan nodded and walked off to a part of the clearing and began to spar.
Scyther, Slowpoke, and Pidgeotto looked at him.
"You three are going to be working with me and Mairin to get your weak spots covered. Scyther, you have a Steel Type evolution, but you need a Metal Coat for that, which we don't have. Pidgeotto is great at Arial Combat, but bad up close. Train with him and help him out with that."
Pidgeotto and Scyther then took to the air and began to train.
"Slowpoke, you're in a mock battle with me and Mairin. You have a branch evolution, but only one is capable of Mega Evolution. However, what you want to evolve into is up to you." Slowpoke, despite being slow on the uptake, nodded and got into position.
"Alright Mairin! You ready!?" Chespie leaped off Mairin's shoulder and took a battle stance.
"You bet, Alain! Let's go! Pin Missle!"
(OUTSKIRTS OF SAFFRON!)
"OK, now to think about who to use against Sabrina." Ash said, as he then held Dexter open, looking through the list of Pokémon he currently had.
"BEEDRILL HASN'T BEEN USED IN A LONG WHILE, SO I SUGGEST SENDING HIM OUT FIRST." Ash nodded at that, remembering how he hadn't really used him at all since Rota.
Beedrill had come out to train, but he had been very afraid of his Mega Stone that they couldn't really train in Mega Evolution.
This might be a good chance to work with him.
"Will have to talk to him about it. Who next?" Dexter then flashed Primeape's image.
"THANKS TO PRIMEAPE KNOWING A GHOST MOVE, HE WOULD BE A GOOD WAY OF THROWING SABRINA OFF HER GAME." Ash then took out Primeape's Pokéball and released him.
"Hey, just checking to make sure, you're ok with going up against Sabrina in the Gym Challenge, right?" He asked …
Before Primeape grabbed his collar and pulled him down to eye level.
"I got pulled away from you last timeline, because a guy tricked the both of us into thinking he could make me better. We never got to work on our routine because of it. SEND ME IN, COACH." Ash gulped and nodded.
Primeape then shoved him back up …
Before shaking like a leaf when Serena got right in his face.
Her glare was enough to tell him everything.
"Does Squirtle know Dark Pulse?" Misty asked …
Before regretting her decision, Squirtle then released out of his ball.
"DARKNESS … KITTTAAAA!" Squirtle called out, before getting slapped in the back of his head from Ash.
"You can't learn Dark Pulse, only your fully evolved form can learn it. However, you can learn Bite, which should help since she is used to attacking from far away, so up-close combat would throw her off." Squirtle swiped his front as he showed he was quite willing to join.
"I ALSO SUGGEST ZORUA, HIS ILLUSIONS ARE NOT TIED TO HIS TYPING." Ash then looked at Serena, who nodded.
With that, she released Zoroark.
"I'm about to take on a Psychic Gym, and Zorua could help. Do I have your permission to use him?" Zoroark looked contemplative but nodded.
"I promise he won't get badly hurt." Zoroark smiled at that.
Ash then brought out Lucario's Ball, Greninja's ball and then nodded at Pikachu.
Releasing them, they all looked at him expectantly.
"OK, I'm trying to debate which of you three to use in this challenge. Greninja, you're a natural Dark Type, but I think she might use a Pokémon that has the Trace ability, and I don't want to risk her getting a Bond Phenomenon power up." Greninja looked disappointed, seeing what the implications were, since Sabrina was already one with her Pokémon.
"Lucario, your Steel type might be useful, since it would counter her advantage with Fighting Types, but your range options aren't much. You have Aura Sphere, but other than Flash Cannon, you don't have any other long-range attacks. You've been training with Zoroark and Zorua, were you able to get Dark Pulse?" Lucario did a 'kinda' motion with his paw.
"I'm able to generate the dark energy for the pulse but sending it forward is the problem. Probably best to hold it for emergencies." Ash solemnly nodded.
"OK, Pikachu. You had Brock and Surge, but unless you tell me otherwise, I think it's best if you take a break for now, given what happened last time." Pikachu shivered, remembering that damn Abra.
"Yeah. Until I can learn Shockwave, best to not fight something that can make my electricity come back at me." He said, as he breathed slowly to make sure he didn't have a panic attack.
"So, Zorua, Primeape, Lucario, Beedrill, and Squirtle. Should be good to at least get the ball rolling." Ash said, as Brock nodded.
"And if things go to Dunsparce, I have Steelix to dig us out!" Misty just gave Brock a Deadpan look.
"Big talk coming from the Rock Trainer with the Steel Type."
"And who is the one who doesn't have any protection against Psychic and has a Water/Poison type again?" Brock then ducked Misty's mallet, which sent a tree skyward.
"Wow! You guys are having a lot of fun!" Everyone stopped what they were doing, seeing a little girl waving at them.
"Please, come to the Saffron Gym! We'll have lots of fun! Especially you, pretty girl!" She said, pointing at Serena.
"Uh, me? Why me?" She asked as she pointed at herself, while the girl laughed.
"We can have so much fun with our minds! We both have a psychic evolution with us! And your Eeveelution, while not as good as Espeon, is still so gosh darn cute!" She said, as she then hugged Sylveon as if she was a stuffed toy.
"We could even do those things you call performances! They look so pretty, and your beauty is brought to the front when you wear that beautiful outfit!" Serena was beginning to get a bit creeped out by how this little girl, who she had never met before, somehow knew all this stuff.
Suddenly, the girl looked behind her and saw Ash staring at her.
The girl shifted from outright fun loving …
To being worried.
"Can you help us this time? Make sure SHE doesn't have full control?" Ash stared, and then took a deep breath.
"I will make absolutely sure of it." The girl then began to cry before she hugged Ash.
"You may be her son, but your inner soul is just as beautiful as hers and your mother's when she stopped being a thief." She said before she pointed in a direction, and everyone saw Saffron City.
"I hope she didn't accidentally give us away doing that, or else it might be a hard time freeing her." Ash said to everyone as they headed into Saffron City.
Everyone was standing before the doors to the Saffron Gym, which was scaring Serena given how she could sense SOMETHING on the inside was waiting for them.
"Hey, are you planning on challenging Sabrina?" Everyone turned around and saw an older looking man staring right at him.
"Planning on it."
"I suggest you look elsewhere. Psychic Types can only be beaten by a Ghost Type."
Ash raised an eyebrow at that.
He recognized this man as Sabrina's Father.
And he had some hilariously outdated info.
"Dexter?"
"PULLING UP DATA NOW. WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT GHOST TYPES ARE SUPER EFFECTIVE AGAINST PSYCHIC, THE ONLY KNOWN GHOST TYPE FAMILY IN KANTO IS THE GHASTLY LINE.
WHICH I MIGHT POINT OUT IS PART POISON, AND SINCE GHOST TYPES DON'T BLOCK PSYCHIC TYPES.
IN ADDITION, WHEN THE LATEST ARTICLE CAME OUT, THEY FOOLISHLY TESTED GHOST TYPE ATTACKS AGAINST MELOETTA.A PSYCHIC/NORMAL TYPE. SO THAT IS SOMETHING THAT REALLY NEEDS A GOOD LECTURE."
Ash then looked at the man.
"The only truly immune Type against Psychic is Dark Type, which while there are no native Dark Type Pokémon in Kanto, most of the Normal and the Ghastly line learn Dark Type moves."
Instead of looking astounded or annoyed at Ash, the man was smirking.
"Glad to see you're not like the others around here. Most just try to beat this Gym by just overusing items, or just assume that a Ghastly can take on an Alakazam that they just caught."
"Seriously? I mean with the right training, a Ghastly can be as strong as a Gengar, but you don't just catch and take on a Gym with a newly caught Pokémon!" Ash shouted incredulously.
"Indeed, so I tend to warn trainers about this and see their reactions. And I believe you can do it. Get her out of this mindset and remind her of who she used to be." Ash raised an eyebrow at that …
Then realized he probably read his mind, given who he was the father of.
"Trust me. I intend to." He said as the doors opened, clearly showing an interest in them.
"Given how she knows we're here, I'm willing to bet she won't let the 4 of us just waltz out, so let's do this."
It had barely been 2 minutes since they walked in when the one from before had appeared.
"So, you are here to challenge the Saffron Gym? And yet you don't have a single Psychic Type with you?" He condescendingly asked, clearly looking down on them.
"Psychic types are the most UNDEFEATABLE of all the Pokémon types! All major trainers have one! A Drowzee, a Kadabra, the smart ones evolve that into a Alakazam!" He clearly never traveled outside of Kanto if THOSE were his opinions.
"So how come they can't effect a Dark Type?" Serena asked.
"A Dark what?" The guy stupidly asked, clearly having not expected that and probably never looked up a Type Chart past 1995.
"Stop making up TYPES that don't exist. Psychics are immune to the power of Ghost!" Misty then rubbed her head.
"Then how come a Starmie gets beaten by a Beedrill that knows Bug Buzz?"
"Bug what?" Again, the idiot didn't know anything since he didn't know about Bug Types.
"How long have you worked here?"
"2 weeks, which is enough to put you on league with the Gym Leader, the lovely Sabrina!" Then in a complete 180, he looked cockily at Serena.
"But I can sense your Psychic power, tell me, would you be interested in a date once this overblown palooka gets beaten?" Serena was annoyed with this idiot …
So, she gave him a new sense sensation.
The guy was bowled over on the floor in pain from the power of her kick.
"I also think your teacher isn't exactly happy with you trying to hit on her potential student." Ash said as he then saw the guy start floating in the air …
Before his skull collided with the ceiling, and he kept slamming into the roof.
"Yes mistress, I will bring them to you." The guy whimpered out, before they all noticed the other Psychic students glared at him.
"How often has he done this?" Brock asked.
"At least once an hour, so she is not the first one he's done that to. This is the first time Sabrina herself has stopped him, though." One of the teachers replied, as the idiot took them to the Challenge Room.
"Mistress, they are here, and I apologize for-"
*WHAM! *
His apology got cut off quickly when Sabrina sent him straight into a wall, with an angered glare.
"Either you leave right now, or I teleport you to about the height of Silph Co.
And drop you without a parachute."
The implications clear, the man crawled out of the room, whimpering at how scary Sabrina currently was.
"Minus that guy being an idiot, my name is – GYARK!" Ash was cut off from introducing himself when a sudden of Psychic Energy forced him into a kneeling position, and his friends slammed against the wall.
"I know who you are, Ash Ketchum. Son of Red and Green." She growled out through her mind, as Ash recognized that tone and where he previously heard someone call him THAT.
"So, it was you who attacked us on Route 25?" He groaned out, as Sabrina took on a sadistic smirk.
"Good memory, AURA USER. This time, Serena WILL be trained by me, unless you can beat me in this challenge." Their Pokéballs then floated off their belts and put into a box.
"But I can't risk you trying to evade me again, and I plan on doing EVERYTHING to make sure that she is not taken away from me again!" Ash grunted as he forced more Aura around his body, cancelling out her hold on him.
Sylveon manages to wrench herself free from the hold and start a minor Fairy Wind to break Sabrina's concentration.
Steelix and Starmie and Staryu then emerged as they then shot out their own counter for the Psychic Energy.
"So, you came prepared. So be it." An even more intense Psychic wave then hit everyone, while 5 of Ash's Pokéballs then sprang forth and rolled in front of him.
"But you will be using THESE Pokémon!" She demanded as Pikachu and Sylveon were forced into cages.
Ash glared at Sabrina, as he remembered that she wasn't THIS obsessed with anything from the last timeline.
Then he looked behind her and saw a sight that nearly made him gag.
Behind her …
Was the little girl version of herself tied up in chains.
AND a version of herself that was the same age as her but had looked to have been beaten to near death.
"They were my weaknesses. The little one had begged for your help, and the other one is my weaker half. She had come up when we last met on Route 25, but she will never come above again."
Multiple Personality Disorder.
Fantastic.
Looking at the five Pokéballs, Ash groaned as he realized how one sided, she tried to make it.
Thankfully, Pikachu's Pokéball wasn't among them.
Going for the far right one, he saw Sabrina launch her own.
"ODIN! I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!"
"KADABRA! ANNIHILATE THAT NIDORAN!"
Kadabra?
Well, this was going to suck for Odin.
"Odin! Toxic!" Odin began to seemingly get something caught in the back of his throat as Kadabra stared.
"Don't let him spit it out! Teleport!" She commanded, as Kadabra teleported right in front of Odin, ready to unleash and attack …
And Odin ducked his Psywave attack and spat the Toxic right into his face.
Ash then looked in confusion at Sabrina.
Something wasn't right.
Sabrina wouldn't fall for a trick like that.
Nor would she make a rookie mistake of just teleporting in front of the target and letting her Pokémon get hit by a Poison attack.
Even if Kadabra's ability was Synchronize, Nidoran wouldn't be affected.
"Um, are you alright, Sabrina?" He asked …
Before seeing that Kadabra did get poisoned, he didn't take any damage.
"Magic Guard." He heard in his head, as he then realized that it wouldn't damage unless HE directly attacked.
"Fine then. VENOSHOCK!" Unable to dodge in time, several purple pins slammed into the shoulders and knees of Kadabra as he took a lot more damage from the attack basically FORCING the effect of the Toxic.
"Iron Tail!" Odin panicked a bit when Kadabra tried to slam his tail onto his head.
"Shadow claw!" He called out, as Odin took a swipe at Kadabra, who just teleported away.
"Psycho cut!" Kadabra popped right behind Odin with his spoon glowing silver.
As soon as it connected with Odin's back, Odin kicked Kadabra right in the face before clawing his chest with Shadow Claw.
Ash saw Sabrina grit her teeth.
"Use Psychic you idiot!" Ash was really taken aback when she insulted one of her own Pokémon like that.
What was going on?
Kadabra looked nervously over at Sabrina, and Ash caught a glimpse of a tear coming down its eye.
Kadabra sent out another Psychic wave, connecting with Odin's head.
Ash got even more worried when he saw Odin start stumbling around.
"Now Hypnosis!" Kadabra's eyes glowed blue and Odin went straight to sleep.
"Now Dream Eater you fool!" Odin then glowed red as Kadabra began to heal from the hits it had taken during the fights.
However, just before Kadabra finished, purple pins shot off Odin and slammed into Kadabra's stomach and head, forcing its attack to cut him off.
Odin then suddenly woke up, confused as to what was going on.
"Odin! Horn attack!" Odin then took off for Kadabra, but his horn didn't glow silver.
Instead, it glowed green and almost looked like a Heracross horn.
When it connected with Kadabra's midsection, it seemed to pierce through his body as he struggled to lift the larger Pokémon to throw him.
Ash stared in amazement at what had just happened.
Somehow, Odin had learned Megahorn, a move that only his FINAL EVOLUTION could learn, but he wasn't about to look this gift Ponyta in the mouth as Odin barely dodged a swipe from Kadabra's spoon.
"USE MEGAHORN AGAIN!" He shouted as Sabrina glared daggers at Kadabra.
"Use Psycho Cut and end the battle you worthless idiot!" Ash was getting angry.
Sabrina shouldn't be insulting this poor Pokémon; he was doing his best against a Pokémon that was taking him by surprise!
Psycho Cut and Megahorn collided, and both were creating craters in the floor as both tried to force the other into submission.
Ash then had an idea.
"USE DOUBLE KICK TO GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA POWER AND STRIKE WITH SHADOW CLAW!" He called out.
Slamming his feet into the ground, Odin overpowered the Psycho Cut and struck his Megahorn into Kadabra's face, while the Shadow Claw struck his stomach.
Soon, some of the Ghost energy went from the claw to the Megahorn, and Kadabra screamed in pain.
Odin was so caught up with pounding Kadabra he didn't notice Kadabra ready another Psycho Cut.
At least until he felt his cheek get struck and flung off.
Both stared at each other, barely able to stand.
Then Odin and Kadabra both fell to the ground and didn't move an inch.
"A Double KO. How pathetic. Just like back in the day, Kadabra. You were always useless." Sabrina coldly told him, as she returned him.
Ash returned Odin, then closed his eyes.
He heard Sabrina growl as she pulled out another Pokéball, clearly frustrated as to the fact that he was going to RANDOMLY pick a Pokémon.
He felt around until his hands grabbed a ball.
And he immediately knew which one it was.
"PRIMEAPE! I CHOOSE YOU!"
"TAKE THE VICTORY, MR. MIME!" Ash was surprised at that.
She didn't have this guy when he last fought her.
"Use Reflect!" Quickly waving his hands around, a glass screen appeared in front of Mr. Mime.
"Now Light Screen!" This time, a light pink screen mingled with the Reflect, as Ash and Primeape just watched.
"Brick Break." Ash simply said, as Primeape slammed his fist into the barriers and destroyed them.
"Rage Fist!" Ash called out, not wanting to give Sabrina the chance to get off an attack from that close range.
"Rage Fist again!" Primeape again slammed his ghostly fist into Mr. Mime, who clearly had never dealt with a move like this.
"ENCORE!" Mr. Mime then began to clap for Primeape, which confused both Ash and Primeape.
Yes, he was now stuck using Rage Fist, but it would only keep getting stronger the more he used it.
"Leap away and get those barriers back up!" Jumping off Primeape's head, Mr. Mime got both Reflect and Light Screen back up.
So, the plan was to keep them trapped with Encore and then start pounding on them?
Let's see how long this lasts.
5 RAGE fists later, Primeape was panting.
Both he and Mr. Mime were getting tired.
Prime Ape from constantly using Rage Fist and Mr. Mime due to having to keep up Encore and the barriers.
Primeape glared as he prepared one last Rage Fist.
"END IT YOU FOOL!" Mr. Mime's eyes glowed as Primeape charged for him.
Just as the Rage Fist connected, a beam shot out from Mine's eyes and slammed him across the battlefield, leaving debris all over the floor.
Sabrina returned the fallen Pokémon and just sneered at the ball.
"Just like when you were defeated by a Substitute Pikachu. ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!" She chucked the ball behind her, where it landed next to Kadabra's ball.
Ash had already grabbed the next ball, while Sabrina brought out her next one.
"GEBGAR! GOING GHOST!"
"DROWZEE! SLAUGHTER HIM!"
Ash and Gengar stared right at their opponents.
Gengar, remembering his Poison half, and the fact that he had fully evolved against a first stage Pokémon.
Yet, there had to be SOMETHING to this little guy if Sabrina still had him.
Ash just looked at Sabrina, trying to figure out WHICH Sabrina this was!
She just acted cold in the last timeline, she just turned people into dolls.
What was going on!?
"So, your Gengar has Dark Pulse, Night Daze, and Shadow Ball. Let's see if you can LAND the attacks." Ash and Gengar's eyes widened when she "said" that.
"Forewarn."
Ah, well.
That was a problem.
"Gengar use DAZZLING GLEAM!"He called out as Drowzee was taken by surprise of the Fairy Type move.
"Use Psywave!"
"Counter with Night Daze!"
"Was Sabrina like this the last time?" Serena asked as she watched the battle nervously.
"No, me and Brock did get turned to dolls, but it was more of her fun side than being THIS." Misty told her as she struggled against the Psychic hold on them.
"Then again, Haunter was the one who had broken her out of it the first time with his jokes. We just assumed that her Psychic had overpowered her restraint!" Brock told her as both Gengar and Drowzee were looking exhausted.
"How is Drowzee still standing!?" Serena asked incredulously.
"Drowzee's ability often gives him a warning when Gengar is about to use the three moves that Sabrina outlined earlier. So hopefully, Ash's unorthodox way of fighting throws her off." Brock replied.
"May I also point out that she is a Gym Leader? I recall Falkner being able to take out challengers with a flipping Pidgey!" Misty replied.
Gengar was panting at how long this fight had been going on.
Drowzee was in a worse position, but he could take at least one more hit before he fainted.
Gengat looked to Ash, needing to know how to approach this one.
Ash held up 3 fingers, then went fo sign.
The signal for him.
Gengar glared at Drowzee, then launched a nightshade attack.
Predictably, he jumped to the side.
And then Drowzee realized too late, that in his hands, Gengar had been getting a Shadow Ball ready …
And was aiming where he leaped to.
Drowzee flew behind Sabrina and indented the wall.
But he had let loose something else, given how Gengar then fainted as well.
"Again, we tie. We have two Pokémon left. Go Hypno!" She called out as the final evolution of Drowzee appeared on the field …
And looked barely able to stand already.
Ash stared in bewilderment at the sight.
"OK, what's going on!? Why do they look like they havent slept in days!?"
"I was pushing them past their limits to be ready for YOU, fool. And it is clear I should not have kept them around, given how they lost to your mother and father!" Hypno flinched at that.
Ash picked up the ball on the left as he growled at this.
"Good, you're figuring out WHO Lt. Surge was talking about. Now let's see who will win again." Sabrina smirked as she then held out her right arm.
Hypno then had his eyes glow as he then waited for who Ash would release.
"LUCARIO!" He called out as his faithful Aura Partner roared in challenge.
"Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Flash Cannon, and Shadow Claw. But the Dark Pulse seems more like a suggestion instead of an actual attack." Sabrina said, as Lucario growled at her.
"Lucario, Flash Cannon!" Lucario then began to focus Steel energy into his hands, cupping them in front of him.
"PSYWAVE!" Hypno's eyes glowed and like his teammates before him, sent out a wave of energy towards Lucario.
Lucario then fired the Flash Cannon right at Hypno's beam, as a struggle began to ensue as both teams tried to overpower one another.
"Now, Lucario!" Suddenly, Lucario flashed out of existence and Hypno's beam collided with nothing.
Hypno was looking around desperately for Lucario.
Only to get socked in the back of the head.
"Fire Punch!" Whirling around, the super effective attack connected with Lucario's stomach as he reeled backwards.
Suddenly, he was engulfed in flames for a second, as he then grimaced.
Ash gritted his teeth at seeing Lucario get Burned, but he had to focus.
He couldn't use his Keystone right now, if he was right about what he was feeling with Sabrina.
"Now use Knock Off!" Hypno then smacked Lucario's head, as the Lucarionite he had went flying back to Ash.
"I won't let you Mega Evolve him! You will fail now!" Sabrina yelled out, as Lucario suddenly vanished, and as he used Extreme Speed.
"Did you forget the Hidden Ability of a Lucario is Justified? When you use a Dark Type move, his attack increases!" Suddenly, a thousand punches landed on Hypno as Lucario uppercutted him into the air.
Hypno then connected a Psywave with Lucario's head, as he then stopped in place from the BURN.
"Lucario! FLASH CANNON!" Lucario again cupped his hands charging the Steel Type energy into them.
But he also brought it up to his mouth, focusing more energy there.
"Use PSYCHIC!" Sabrina ordered as an outline of Hypno was sent straight for Lucario.
Lucario put the beam completely in his mouth, as he let rip a Flash Cannon that was enormous, having to eject Steel Energy out of his feet in order to counteract the recoil.
"LUCARIO HAS JUST LEARNED STEEL BEAM, THE STRONGEST STEEL ATTACK. HOWEVER, I DO NOT SEE LUCARIO CONTINUEING AFTER THIS." Dexter reported as the Beam collided with Hypno sending him straight into the wall.
The Psychic attack did connect with Lucario, who was still in pain from Steel Beam's recoil damage, so he shakily stood up.
He grinned at the sight of the knocked down Hypno …
Before he became engulfed in flames and fell forward with swirly eyes.
"Again, we tie." Sabrina smirked as Ash held out his last Pokéball.
"Now to see the power of this Greninja from what my weak younger half saw." She insulted as she then wrapped some kind of chain around the child version of her self's neck.
Ash then began to laugh.
"Greninja is not in this Pokéball. In fact, he's not even in my Bag Box PC." Sabrina stared at him in amazement and fury.
"I had a feeling you would try and have your Mega Evolved Alakazam use its Trace ability to copy the Battle Bond, and while I was tempted to risk it, Greninja asked to be sent over to Oak's Ranch to avoid someone as skilled as you getting the ability."
"Fascinating. Utterly fascinating." Oak said as he ran some scans on Greninja.
"It seems that your Battle Bond ability doesn't just give you access to that form, Greninja." Greninja quirked an eyebrow at that…
And at the needles going into his arm.
"There's a passive ability to increase your Attack, Sp. Attack and Speed when you knock out an opponent. And you don't need to connect with Ash in order for it to happen." Oak rambled off as he kept checking his notes from Sycamore on the average Greninja body and comparing it to him.
"Gren Greninja, Ninja Ja." Oak looked back at Greninja, and sighed.
"I guess I need to figure out how to do that data dump Ash did on his and Serena's Pokédex's in order to understand you." Oak lamented as he then went back to the charts.
Greninja had been unplugged as he then took a look around.
Greninja then found an old device that almost looked like a portable game console, that looked even older than the Pokédexes that Ash and his friends originally used.
Picking it up he brought it over to Oak.
"Is everything alright, Greninja?" Greninja then presented the device.
"Oh, the first ever Pokédex I ever tried to develop. Had tons of storage, but the interface wasn't that great. Honestly, I think I should have included the speech function and visual recognition software from the start-" Oak suddenly stopped, as he stared at the device.
Grabbing a converter cable to plug into the computer that housed all the data, he began to download it to the old device.
And with how fast the thing was filling up, Oak was worried that the thing would blow from an overload given the amount of data going into the thing.
However, the thing then turned the familiar Pokédex color of red, as its screen then changed from a bunch of different greens to full color, and a new attachment appeared on the top.
"UPDATE ACCEPTED. VISUAL RECOGNITION SOFTWARE INSTALLED. SPEECH FUNCTION READY TO USE. REQUEST: WHAT IS THIS UNIT'S NAME?"Oak and Greninja stared at each other, given how fast this went.
"Hmm, Serena's calls herself Eve, right?" Oak asked Greninja, who nodded.
"Well, since it was the first one I ever made, you will be called ADAM."
"ADAM? AS IN THE FIRST HUMAN CREATED BY ARCEUS?"
"Yes, do you not like it?"
"NO, PROFESSOR. I LIKE IT. ADAM IS MY NAME." Oak stared in amazement at how fast it went from robotic to almost natural.
"Well then. I think we should start with some basics, Adam. My name is Professor Oak, and I am the Regional Professor of Kanto."
"So I swapped the shell around, since you wouldn't look that far in my mind for this info. As such, you wouldn't know this wasn't Greninja. BEEDRILL, I CHOOSE YOU!" Ash's second Bug Type appeared, floating in the air, staring at Sabrina.
"Hmph. It would have been wiser if you had caught a better Bug Type like a Scyther or Pinsir for this fight." Dabrina said, as Alakazam appeared, and stared at his opponent.
Beedrill looked back nervously at Ash, given how most of his attacks were close range attacks.
"Beedrill, I have faith in your abilities. I KNOW you can beat him." Beedrill looked unsure, but took a stance at his opponent.
"I must admit, I didn't think any member of Red's family would catch a Beedrill, given who often used one." Sabrina said before Alakazam tried to Slash one of his spoons across Beedrill.
"TwinNeedle!" Beedrill began to rapidly stab his arms into Alakazam's body, but given how it was one of the weaker moves, Alakazam looked ANNOYED if anything.
"Psycho Cut again." Sabrina lazily said, as Beedrill barely ducked the spoon coming for him.
He again used TwinNeedle as Alakazam again looked annoyed.
"FURY CUTTER!" Beedrill slashed Alakazam's chest, but he barely nicked it.
"Hmph, fool." Sabrina cockily said …
Until Beedrill used about 3 Fury Cutters in rapid succession.
And Alakazam was starting to feel it.
"Enough of this! Alakazam!" Alakazam's eyes widened in terror when his back revealed an Alakazamite forced into his back.
Sabrina then brought out a tiny Keystone, but it was glowing black instead of green.
"MELD OUR MINDS AS ONE. LET THE PATH OF MEGA EVOLUTION BLACKEN THE LIGHT, LET THE SUPERIORITY OF PSYCHIC REIGN!" Sabrina said, as if she was a thousand voices at once, as Alakazam began to shriek in pain as, instead of an orange sphere surrounding him, it was a black sphere.
When it exploded, Alakazam did seem to Mega Evolve, but there was black liquid coming off him, and his eyes became blank slates.
"NOW, LET'S SEE HOW WELL YOUR LITTLE BEE CAN STAND UP TO ME NOW." Sabrina said, as Alakazam's lips moved like she was a puppet master.
In an uncharacteristic display of speed for Alakazam, Beedrill was struck with Psycho Cut and flung across the room.
Beedrill retaliated with Fury Cutter, but the boosts he got before BARELY managed to keep the incoming spoon from colliding with him.
Soon, Beedrill felt he had reached the limit of Fury Cutter as He was only able to give Alakazam a nick over his right eye.
The moment that appeared, Ash noticed Sabrina holding her eyebrow in the exact same way.
"Beedrill! Any new moves you could use!? Hopefully something at a distance!?" Ash called out, as Beedrill nervously shook his head.
If they didn't figure something out right now, Sabrina was going to ERADICATE them.
Beedrill ducked a Psycho Cut coming for him and hit Alakazam in the back with Fury Cutter.
Alakazam was still not taking as much damage as he was earlier, so the attack barely just shoved him forward.
Beedrill began to pant, thinking this was it …
When he felt his Beedrillite around his neck.
Maybe if he Megaevolved, it would turn the tide.
But then he remembered Rota.
How he lost control and almost ended Nidorino's life.
Since it seemed like Sabrina was connected to Alakazam, would he run the risk of ending her life?
He then looked at Ash and gestured to the Beedrillite.
Ash realized what he was asking, and looked at his Key Stone.
When they looked at each other, the decision was made.
"LET'S DO IT, BEEDRILL!"
"SPI!"
Ash then began to mimic Beedrill a bit as he reached up to touch the Keystone on his wrist, while Beedrill touched the Beedrillite.
"THERE ARE MANY ROADS IN THE WORLD, BUT FEW HAVE TRAVELED THEM ALL.
MANY TIMES, A ROAD INTERSECTS WITH ANOTHER, LEADING TO A NEW PATH.
MY FRIENDS ARE THE MANY ROADS, AS I AM THE TRAVELER.
BUT I TRAVEL WITH MY FRIENDS IN MY HEART!
LET MY ROAD AND BEEDRILL'S ROAD INTERSECT, LEADING TO THE PATH OF THE MANY!
AND MEGAEVOLVE!"
Beedrill became surrounded by an orange sphere, and when it exploded, Mega Beedrill stood before Mega Alakazam.
Ash stared at Beedrill, waiting to see if he was still in control.
This was Beedrill's first Gym Battle after all.
Beedrill floated there, staring down his opponent, waiting for that urge to destroy to come up and he lost control.
It never came.
He turned around to look at Ash, and just floated there.
Ash stared back, waiting to see his reaction.
Then smiled.
"FURY NEEDLE!" Beedrill, if he had a mouth or the like, would have smirked as he jabbed his stinger into Alakazam, then began to rapidly stab his sword arms into Alakazam's chest.
Sabrina was screaming at the sudden sensation of pain that was coursing through her body.
Beedrill then suddenly channeled the energy away from his stinger and sword arms and focused them on his wings.
Quickly pinning down Alakazam, Beedrill's wings suddenly began to make an absolute shrill noise that forced those who were able to cover their ears to do so.
Not quite so easy when you're stuck mind linked with the Mega Evolution.
Sabrina screamed her head off from the sound Alakazam was experiencing, before Beedrill crossed his Sword Arms and struck Alakazam in the he'd in an X motion.
Alakazam's head hit the floor, as Sabrina also fell to her side, as the other Sabrina and the little Sabrina were unlocked.
They hit the floor panting.
Beedrill was surrounded by an orange sphere as he went back to his original form.
Serena, Misty and Brock fell off the wall finally free from the Psychic hold.
Serena didn't hesitate as she rushed over to Ash and hugged him.
"YOU DID IT, ASH! YOU BEAT THAT HAG!" Serena shouted as Sylveon retrieved their Pokéballs from the box.
Braixen came out as she checked on everyone else. Quickly checking over the minds of the other two Sabrinas they had seen, she gave the motion that they were still alive.
"So, what do we do now?" Misty asked as she quickly got Starmie out in case they needed protection.
"I think Sabrina's father should still be nearby. I'll go get him." Brock said as he ran out of the room.
"So, what now?" Serena asked as Ash turned towards the body of Sabrina.
"Now I test out the technique I learned from Sir Aaron. See if I can't-" He cut himself off when he saw the child Sabrina and the teen Sabrina suddenly get chained up once again.
"No." The room shook as the Sabrina in front of them slowly stood up.
"NOOOO!" Suddenly, the room broke apart as Sabrina then gave off a very red-looking aura that acted like a liquid, dripping off her body.
As she raised her head, Ash saw just how crazed this Sabrina had become.
"I WILL NOT LOSE THAT PSYCHIC TO YOU OR THE WEAK MES! I WILL NOT LOSE TO THE SON OF RED, AND I WILL NEVER LOSE TO THE CHILD OF GREEN AFTER WHAT SHE DID TO ME!" She shouted as she tried to use her Psychic powers on Serena to pull her towards her.
Too bad Ash showed her aside as he got pulled in instead.
"FINE! YOU WANT TO DIE FIRST!? THEN YOUR WISH SHALL BE GRANTED!"
"NO! STOP! IF YOU DO THIS, THE LEAGUE WON'T HESITATE TO HUNT US DOWN!" The Teen Sabrina shouted as she struggled against the chain.
"SHUT UP! I DON'T NEED YOU OR THAT STUPID CHILD! ALL I NEED IS MY PSYCHIC POWERS! YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED WHEN MOM AND DAD ABANDONED US!"
Sabrina was so focused on yelling at her other half that she didn't notice Ash get ready.
As soon as she was about to try and stab him with a knife she now had, Ash knocked it out of her hands …
Before gripping his hands around her head, putting his thumbs underneath her eyes, and forced Aura through her body.
"ASH!" Serena cried as Brock arrived with Sabrina's mother and father.
Ash had just gotten his bearings back as he looked around.
The gym was gone, it was nighttime, and he saw Mt. Silver in the distance.
He then heard giggling, before looking behind him.
It was the Teen Sabrina, who looked like she had just told a joke that he was the butt of.
Ash was confused.
He had seen this Sabrina in chains during his Gym battle yet here she seemed to be free as a bird.
"So, everything alright?" He asked, not really going off anything.
"Depends on your point of view. Knowing what you've done in the original timeline, it's a lot to take in. Especially when you remember and try to do the same thing to try and free yourself."
Then the scene changed with the little child Sabrina playing with an Abra.
"It always sucks going back to this moment, when that OTHER me was born." She said, as Ash and Teen Sabrina watched the happy moment, where Child Sabrina got playfully angry with Abra cheating the Hide N Seek game.
"Come on, Abra! No Teleporting!" Her child self-shouted as she chased after the teleporting cat.
"Hmph. Such a waste." Ash was surprised to hear that voice.
Walking over towards them, was an old lady with a Gengar and a cane.
It was Agatha, the Ghost Type user of the Elite Four.
Strange thing to him was that she wasn't as hunched over as she usually was.
Why did she just insult Young Sabrina.
"You have the same powers that a Psychic Type has, and all you're doing is playing. What a waste of potential." She said as Gengar mocked Abra.
"Abra, let's get out of here." Suddenly, Agatha took on something that Ash had never seen Agatha do.
She sneered as Gengar cast Mean Look and canceled the Teleport.
"Oh no, my dear. You're not going anywhere until this young Pokémon comes with me and stops being controlled by an unworthy Trainer. Let's go, Abra." Abra's eyes opened and shook his head no.
"What? You prefer being with this little pipsqueak who doesn't care about her Pokémon's feelings than with a skilled trainer?" Abra nodded as Sabrina felt its thoughts.
"I was born the same day as her, and her father's Slowbro and Mother's Jynx have been the family I needed when my blood ones abandoned me!" Abra 'shouted' as it grabbed Sabrina's hand and tried to run away.
"Such potential for fights, wasted on one who does not know what Pokémon actually are." Agatha uncharacteristically insulted as she then nodded at Gengar, who shot a Shadow Ball …
At Sabrina, sending her flying.
A Pokéball fell from Sabrina's waist, as Agatha grabbed it and crushed it.
Sabrina had arrived back with her parents, but Abra was nowhere to be seen.
Only the signs of a massive battle.
Child Sabrina broke down crying, after seeing the loss of her Abra.
"Never did find out what happened to him. All I know is that his Pokéball registered as released after that." Teen Sabrina told him, before they both felt a wave of darkness wash over them.
Teen Sabrina looked in terror as something seemed to be separating itself from Child Sabrina, with small strings still going into her like she was some kind of Marionette.
"So, this is where you were hiding." The thing said as it turned to the two of them.
"I must admit, you've been a thorn in my side ever since you brought that stupid Ghost into my Gym, and how you broke her free from me." She said as she morphed into the mor adult version of Sabrina, as the Child version was absorbed into her.
"Run." Was all Ash said as he and Teen Sabrina made a run for it.
Only to suddenly have the Adult Sabrina appear in front of them.
"Do you REALLY think you can just RUN? Oh no. You're in MY head now, and I'm going to make sure SHE never takes control again after our parents abandoned us, and you are NOT going to take that beautiful psychic away!" She cackled as the area began to transform.
"Ash, please tell me you have a plan?" Teen Sabrina nervously asked.
"I … didn't think she'd find us this soon?"
(BACK IN THE REAL WORLD!)
Serena was nervous.
Ash's eyes had no pupils in them and there seemed to be dark energy going into him as well as blue energy going into Sabrina.
"He just learned this technique and he's trying it out on someone as skilled as SABRINA!?" Sabrina's father yelled as he got closer.
"What do you mean? This is supposed to be a test run and Sir Aaron taught him this to take on someone stronger than Sabrina!" Misty told him as everyone dodged a sudden wave of Psychic and Aura.
"Yes, but Sabrina is still more skilled than he is, and given how he has never used this before, he's not putting any defense into his own body." Sabrina's mother told her.
"So, there's a chance that this Evil Sabrina could take over his body?" Brock asked in worry.
"Yes, but he also just charged in without a plan. This technique only works well when you know about the trigger point for the other Sabrina's rage. After what happened to her Abra, my Slowbro and her Jynx became the closest to Sabrina." Sabrina's father then began to tear up as he. Rought out an old style Pokéball.
His wife pat him on the back as she turned to the mental battle going on.
"But they were very old, so when they passed away, as we were grieving, Sabrina thought we had abandoned her, so she ran away. Eventually joining Team Rocket." Everyone then remembered what Lt. Surge had told them.
Ash and Teen Sabrina were on the run from the Dark Sabrina, who seemed to be just a pile of sludge chasing them.
No matter how fast they ran or how far they got, she always managed to pop up.
"Give …
It …
UP! You can't escape me, and you will never be free again! Not after what happened in the last timeline!" She declared as Ash saw a building nearby.
"Quickly. In there!" He yelled, grabbing Teen Sabrina's arm as they ran for the building, as Dark Sabrina stopped.
Teen Sabrina suddenly took a better look at the building Ash had seen and panicked.
"No! Not in there!" She yelled at him, but the doors had already opened.
And Ash had dragged her inside.
"OK. She stopped chasing us, so something must have scared her here." He said, only to realize that Teen Sabrina was shaking in fear.
"What? We're inside a-" Ash then realized that the area they were in didn't make sense.
"WEREN'T WE JUST OUTSIDE!?" He shouted when he saw a Kanto Pagoda inside a skyscraper.
"No, not here again. Not after HE found me one the streets after I ran away." Teen Sabrina whimpered out, as Ash then suddenly realized someone else was in the room.
"HEY! How'd you get into Silph Co. Before me!?" Someone shouted at them.
He looked behind them and saw a girl about his age in a black and-piece short dress with black low-heeled shoes with white socks and white gloves.
She had slightly messy dark brown hair that traveled down her back, but what caught Ash's attention was her eyes.
Brown eyes.
Just like his and his moth-
Wait.
Was this?
"The name's Green! And I'm here to get a Legendary Pokémon that Team Rocket has been making. And I'm sure as heck not letting YOU beat me to it!" She yelled at him.
Ash just stared at her, realizing exactly who this was.
It was a younger version of his mother.
Green smirked at his reaction, which confused him.
"I take it you have never seen such a prettier lady before?" She asked flirtingly.
Ash quickly snapped himself out of his stupor and looked around.
"Sorry, we're hiding from someone. So, you can just-" Ash then felt a VERY dark presence nearby and slowly turned around.
In front of them was Dark Sabrina.
But this time, instead of looking like a pile of good taking shape, she looked like Teen Sabrina, but with a Team Rocket outfit.
"So, you finally met her. Good. I can erase her from my mind and take over her precious son as well." She growled out, as Green looked at Ash.
"Wow. I knew you were psychic, but I never thought you'd be stupid. This kid's the same age as me and kind of looks like that Red person I ran into." She told her, before suddenly grabbing her neck as she lost breath.
"Every year I remember what you did to me. You demanded me, made me feel less of a person, and I especially remember what you did to me when we took on Lorelei." The Dark Embodiment of Sabrina's Dark half growled out before she slammed Green into Teen Sabrina, when ICE formed around Teen's left wrist and Green's right wrist.
"HEY!"
"DON'T DO THIS!" Both Green and Teen respectively called out, before being blown back by Dark's power.
"I will get to you two in a moment. First, I want to make sure your SON doesn't pull anything to prevent me from controlling this body of ours." She snarled as Ash barely put up a protective Aura around him before Rocket Sabrina slammed into it, denting it.
Didn't hold up when she then attacked the ground with an ooze covered Alakazam.
Ash just kept dodging while Teen and Green tried to free themselves from each other.
"What is this ice, steel!?" She angrily asked as she watched Ash.
"Damn well feels like it! I don't think we're going to be getting out of this anytime soon." Teen answered before they slammed into a wall again.
"Blast it! Why does she not want us to move!?" Green asked as she was getting tired of being thrown around like a ragdoll.
"She's afraid of me actually fighting back and taking control of my body again!" Green then looked in confusion.
"Then why is she gunning for me as well!? All I want is to get your new Legendary!" She screamed as Sabrina looked nervously at Ash.
"Because that is your son over there, the one who helped me be free from her in the original timeline. Right now, we're back at the original point we first met, and she is terrified of losing control. And since YOU were his only parent without Red, your basically all the family he has!" She told her as Ash did manage to sock Rocket in the head.
"Wait. He's my son and sweetums Red's son?" Sabrina stared at her, having to remind herself that this wasn't a time travel occurrence.
This was all in her mind, so no need to hide things.
"Yes, and the Legendary you're blubbering about is a just a freaky fused form of Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres. Not worth it." Green gulped at the description Sabrina told her, but nodded as they ran over to Ash.
Teen erected a Psychic Shield as Ash got his bearings back after the pounding his Aura took from the onslaught.
Though he almost panicked when Green leaped in front of him. Taking a Slash from Alakazam's spoon across her chest.
Ash was worried when he saw a part of her dress fall off to the side.
"GRRRR! THAT STUPID TRICK AGAIN!?" Rocket Sabrina growled out as Ash immediately chanced a look at what happened …
And immediately regretted it when he saw his mom had her Pokéballs on her chest.
"Don't get any funny ideas, SON." She said in an icy tone.
Soon a Ditto and a Blastoise emerged from the Pokéballs, with Sabrina grabbing one from her waist and releasing a Jigglypuff.
Soon, Alakazam couldn't keep up with the onslaught of the three.
"Now then, get back into the recesses of my mind so I can forget you ever existed!" Teen yelled out …
Only to suddenly panic when Alakazam teleported away and replaced himself with a Slowbro and Jynx.
"NO! NOT THEM!" She screamed as Blastoise, Ditto and Jigglypuff tried pull out of their attacks …
Only to completely obliterate the two.
"NOOOOO!" She wailed as the area around them began to darken.
"Be rid of me? PUEHAHAHA! FOOL!" Everyone looked around in a panic minus Teen as she fell to her knees.
"YOU caused their deaths when you ran away! YOU chose to experiment on that Eevee! YOU chose to join Giovanni when he welcomed you with open arms!" Soon, everyone saw that they were standing on a gloved hand as a giant Rocket Sabrina had them in her hand.
"How can you be rid of me …" She then took on a demonic smirk.
"WHEN I AM YOU!?" She shouted as she then laughed at everything.
"YOU TRIED TO HIDE FEOM WHAT YOU DID WHEN YOU WERE WITH TEAM ROCKET, BUT YOU CAN NEVER HIDE FEOM ME!"
Ash then put a lot more Aura into his body as he tried to undo the illusion that this Rocket Sabrina did.
Everyone was seeing how this was going on the outside via the bodies.
And no one, especially Serena, looked comfortable when Ash's body was almost completely black.
It then took on a ferocious blue nearly blowing them back.
"IS there anything we can do to help him?" Serena asked worriedly.
"Not unless we want to interrupt the concentration he is in right now." Brock said, before everyone noticed strange lights coming off Sabrina's parents.
On Sabrina's father, his right arm glowed pink and grey.
Her mother's left arm glowed a mixture of red, yellow, black and purple.
They looked at Ash and then their arms before nodding.
"Whatever you want to do, old friend." He said to it before both he and his wife looked to be ready for something.
Suddenly, Ash glowed blue, and they then slammed their hands on his shoulders.
Teen had her eyes shut the entire time, trying to block out what Rocket was saying.
Green was still trying to free her arm free from Sabrina's, but Ditto couldn't break it even after he shape-shifting into Blastoise to help him.
Ash was propping himself up as best he could from the attacks, but he was about to lose.
Rocket was just laughing, clearly being insane.
"Seeing you cower like this is quite a surprise." A voice suddenly came out of nowhere.
Teen opened her eyes as everyone turned to see a Jynx in front of her.
But it was the same Jynx that had been obliterated earlier.
"I don't recall teaching you to grovel when you and your parents first learned about your Psychic powers." It said in perfect English…
Before breaking the ice.
"Come now, dear. We died before we could give her any more of our otherworldly wisdom." A sudden Slowbro said, as it began to take a different shape, that wasn't Rocket's hand.
"NO! I'VE WORKED TOO HARD FOR THIS! YOU WILL-"
"Endure pain unlike any other due to my Psychic powers and you shall rue the day, blah blah blah. Yeah, we got more important things to do." The Slowbro brushed her off as she suddenly was sent flying, with Child Sabrina floating back to them.
"Like how we need to get Sabrina and her friends to the PokéWorld Pokè Wars theme park." The Jynx said as suddenly, everyone found themselves in a family car, on the way to PokéWorld.
"Oh boy! I'm going to be building one of those Sabers they have in those movies." Green just shook her head.
"Everyone knows that building your own PokéDroid is where it's at!" Then he and his younger mother began to get into a shouting match like two siblings while Child Sabrina was just excited to get one of the cookie sandwiches based off the Chewa character.
"Hey! No fighting back there! There will be plenty of time for all that when we get there! Either you quiet down or I turn this thing around!" An illusion of Sabrina's father told them as they shut up.
In the middle row of seats, Teen Sabrina was looking nervous, which the Jynx and Slowbro noticed.
"Deary, what's wrong? You were never like this before." The Jynx told her almost like a mother.
"It's just, I caused your deaths when I ran away. How can you just forgive me?" She said while the Slowbro chuckled.
"Oh, Sabribri. We were almost already at our death doors when you did that. Your Psychic powers couldn't prevent that." He told her as she didn't quite seem reassured.
"But ever since these powers manifested, I haven't been having a good life. If I show someone my powers who aren't Psychics, they freak out. If I show someone who is one, they beg me to tell them how to use it and end up going evil!" She began to cry, clearly feeling alone.
"I have hurt so many people. What am I?" She asked, finally letting loose tears.
The Jynx smiled and put her arm around her.
"Sabrina, just like that boy back there, you have a special gift that most people would love to have. You can understand what a Pokémon is thinking, you can even figure out what's ailing them."
"But I have had no friends, and I haven't used my powers responsibly!"
"That's just what living is, Sabribri. You may not have used them responsibly, but you have regretted it and tried to make yourself a better person, both in this timeline and the old." Ash then piped up.
"Yeah, I didn't even know I was a descendant of Sir Aaron until recently. But I can say I have seen those who are very monstrous in appearance, but get to know them, and they can actually be quite soft." That didn't seem to reassure Teen.
"But I ran away without listening to Father's reasons. I abandoned him and mother and joined a monstrous group that only got more monstrous!" Slowbro patted her back.
"To be fair, they didn't really give any incentive other than that they were trying to get rid of your powers. They do have Psychic Powers." Sabrina looked up in surprise at that.
"Indeed. They never saw the reason why they should even use them, so they were rather untrained when your powers began to manifest themselves. So, the trip wasn't to try to keep you appeased." Jynx then pulled out an envelope and handed it to Teen.
"It was to celebrate finding a school that could help you with your problems and let you decide." Teen began to tear up when she saw Her father smiling at her.
"Their mistake was them not telling you why the moment they got it instead of hiding it until after the trip, so they've been miserable when they learned what you had been forced to do ever since then." With that, both illusions of her parents looked saddened.
"So, is it my destiny to be a freak, even when I'm trying to make up for what I did?"
"That road is long and arduous Sabribri. Let me just say this." Slowbro then leaned closer to her.
"You have one of the greatest gifts of all time, but it's not the power itself that puts you on one side or the other. It's what you do with it. Burn the world or help people. It's all up to you." Jynx then wrapped her arms around like a mother.
"What matters is that if you go down a certain road, you will have the responsibilities that follow with it. Don't try to hide from them. Meet them." Teen seemed to be processing that and smiled at them.
"What we are trying to say is, what will you do with them?"
"Quite the fancy way of saying you can never escape from me." Everyone then panicked at seeing a blob of blackness suddenly materialize in the car as it grabbed Teen, causing the car to swerve uncontrollably, before crashing.
Jynx and Slowbro had protected everyone, but Rocket had dragged Teen out.
"Now then, I think it's time that we stop beating around the bush and end things." Teen, unlike the other times, didn't cower and defiantly stood up, glaring into her dark half's eyes, which made her back up.
Slowbro and Jynx then patted her back.
"Go get 'er, Tigress." Was all he said as Teen suddenly DECKED Rocket in the face, calling on her Psychic powers, surprising everyone at how skilled she had done it.
Even ROCKET was having a hard time keeping up, so much so that her form changed from Team Rocket looking skin to just a moving black puddle.
Teen got ready to finish it when black tendrils suddenly wrapped around her and Child, dragging them into the ground, which was now all black and liquid.
"I must admit, I didn't expect THAT MUCH of a resistance, but then again, that was how Gengar got past in the first place." She said as Teen struggled to break free, glaring at Rocket the entire time.
"But still, I won. You can deny me, you can ignore me, you can try to FORGET me." Teen then saw that Child was sinking along with her as she desperately tried to reach her, with Ash and Green battling the liquid to help.
"You can never escape me. You can never be rid of me for good." The liquid face then took on a VERY sadistic smile.
"Basically …" She leaned into the barely seen face of Child and Teen.
"YOU CAN NEVER HIDE FROM ME." She whispered, as only one arm of each was seen, with Ash and Green desperately trying to yank them up.
Suddenly, Slowbro and Jynx just walked over and lifted the two of them out and pulled Ash and Green up, making the ground solid once again.
"Girls got nothing to hide FROM, Rocket." Slowbro told her as she looked in shock.
"She ACCEPTS you were who she was once, and still a part to this day. But you are no longer the one IN CONTROL." Rocket began to shake her head in defiance at that, but Jynx continued.
"She has nothing to hide, especially from YOU. She accepts what happened to Abra, she accepts she was once a part of Team Rocket." Both Slowbro and Jynx smiled.
"She's not hiding it at all, and she's done hiding from YOU." Suddenly, Child stood beside Teen as all of them narrowed their eyes at Rocket.
And said one phrase.
"I'M STRONGER THAN YOU THINK." Suddenly, Child stepped in front of Teen, as Slowbro and Jynx walked behind her, and they seemed to melt into one.
When the light died down, a Sabrina stood in front of Rocket, looking to be about the same age as the one on the outside, but with different clothes on.
(HER LET'S GO GAME OUTFIT.)
She stared at Rocket, before confidently grinning.
"Well Ms. Telepathic Witch." She insulted before making a martial art pose and bringing a bunch of boulders around her, which broke to reveal the 5 Pokémon that she fought Ash with.
Everyone was watching the scene as it seemed like whatever Sabrina's parents did have made the mind fight more intense as the room was buckling and cracking even more than when Ash had fought her.
Misty then saw Alakazam, Kadabra, Drowzee, Hypno and Mr. Mime walking towards them.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!?" Misty shouted, ready to rush in and aid her friend.
"If you want this evil Sabrina gone, you will NOT interfere." The Alakazam told her.
"Yeah! Wese ain't gonna let our true trainer get trapped by that harpy!" Drowzee told them.
"Sabrina treated us like family until that OTHER appeared. And we will NOT abandon her!" Mr. Mime told them as they then slammed their hands on Sabrina's back, making a beacon of light.
Rocket was staring in fear at what was going on when she saw the "traitors" there.
Sabrina looked at them, who nodded and surrounded her in a protective circle.
"Shall we tango?" She finished her earlier statement as Rocket sent out multiple tendrils at her.
One punch from her, however, was enough to sever the limb, causing Rocket to scream out in pain.
"Alakazam, Kadabra! NOW!" Her two Abra partners charged forward, almost using their spoons like swords, slashing any tendril that came close as Sabrina then charged through the gape.
"MR. MIME!" Jumping forward, Mr. Mime erected a Reflect wall to block an incoming tendril.
They almost got taken by surprise by more tendrils when Ash and Green slashed more apart, with Green having Ditto, Blastoise and Jigglypuff out.
"We'll cover the flank!" He called out, as Sabrina saluted and resumed her charge.
Drowzee unleashed a Psychic Beam attack while Hypno used his pendant like a miniature yoyo to slash off the tendrils, keeping an almost clear path to Rocket's face.
Sabrina then leapt through the air, punching and smacking several tendrils out of her way towards her target.
And with one mighty punch, she cracked the face and sent the main embodiment soaring through the air.
And it was clear that Rocket was on her last leg, as her body was dripping goop off like crazy.
No one let up though.
Ash struck her abdomen with a fierce right hook, sending her through the air.
Where Kadabra and Alakazam struck her with their spoons.
Drowzee, Mr. Mime and Hypno did their most powerful attacks, slamming her straight into the ground.
Green had her Pokémon body tackle her, keeping the juggling going.
Suddenly, Rocket was suspended in midair as Sabrina leaped into the air …
And kicked her right into a cliff.
Everyone had covered their eyes when the massive light appeared, unable to see what the five had done.
When the light died down, everyone saw that only a piece of Sabrina's face looked like she did when they came in.
Somehow, the rest of Sabrina's body looked lighter, like something had washed the old version off.
Serena, not thinking straight, took off when she saw Ash beginning to breathe heavily.
She threw her arms around him as she heard the left side of Sabrina's face say something.
Despite the pounding she took, Rocket staggered to her feet.
But it was clear that she couldn't run anywhere.
Sabrina pinned her down with her right foot, not letting her up until she grabbed her by the throat.
She didn't choke her, however.
She merely brought her up to eye level.
"You can't do this. If you destroy me, you'll lose the experience with your powers." She whimpered out, clearly not wanting to be thrown away.
Rocket then saw that her body was disintegrating away like dust, as she looked at Sabrina with tears in her eyes.
"You … need … me." Sabrina looked to think about that for a moment.
"Maybe. One day, I might need that rage of yours to protect the world. For now …" She looked behind her and saw Serena had come in, as Ash and Green stared.
"I have a student who needs my help before her powers go into overdrive, and you'll just be absorbed into me, so your experience isn't going to waste." Rocket looked terrified at that as Sabrina steeled her gaze.
"In short …" She brought Rocket closer to her face.
"I DON'T NEED YOU ANYMORE." And with that, Sabrina clenched her fist, causing Rocket to explode into dust in the wind before absorbing what was left into her body.
Sabrina stared at the spot her angry half once was, before taking a deep breath and smiling into the sky, where only Slowbro's head and Jynx's face were seen.
"Thank you, SlowFather and Mother Jynx." Sabrina said as the two smiled at her.
"Anytime, Deary. Anytime. Just make sure your student doesn't go through what you did." Jynx told her as she got hugged by her real parents and Pokémon.
"Don't let them go ever again. And if something feels like it's bringing out your angry half, we may be gone in the real world, but we'll always be here. And I think in the real world, you'll need to make amends with her when you're able to." Sabrina looked at Green, then nodded.
"Let me know when you give your mother's memories back. I still owe her a rematch." Green shrugged and began to walk away, before Sabrina fixed the chest area of her dress up.
Ash gave a thumbs up as he felt himself waking up …
And looking at a smiling Sabrina.
No trace of that other Sabrina at all.
He then looked down and saw a pair of arms around his stomach, as he turned around and saw Serena hugging him.
She teared up as she hugged him tighter.
"I TOLD YOU NEVER TO DO SOMETHING SO RECKLESS AGAIN!" She shouted as she began to rub her head on Ash's.
"Sorry, Rena. But if I didn't, who would?" He asked as Sabrina's parents hugged their daughter along with her Pokémon.
"Mom, dad, I'm so sorry." She whimpered out, happy to finally be rid of her dark half.
"We aren't leaving you like we accidentally did all those years ago. I'm not letting SlowDad give me a talking to again after he gave me the last of his essence there." He told her as her mother just began crying.
Sabrina smiled happily, as her right arm went into her pocket and brought out a Marsh Badge, as she held it out to Ash.
"You not only beat me, but you kept her from having control again. Thank you." She told him as Ash took the Marsh Badge.
"So, when does Serena's training begin?" Serena then looked at Sabrina, who smiled.
"Whenever she wants, though I do suggest we start tomorrow. We need time to rest." Sabrina said, which Serena nodded.
"If you have the time, I suggest three straight days of training before continuing. Otherwise, I must make it every two weeks." Ash quickly consulted Dexter, who told him that nothing of importance was happening in those days.
"OK, Serena. I'll need you to arrive at 6 AM sharp so that we can get you and your friends the crash course." Sabrina told her as she then handed two old-looking Pokéballs to Ash.
When they opened, they revealed an Espeon and a Ditto.
The Ditto Ash recognized from the memories.
And now that he had his list, he could remember their nicknames.
"Ditty and Vee, I believe?" They both nodded, before Ash felt his mind being probed by Vee.
And his eyes widened when he whispered something to Ditty.
"This might take a while."
(Half an hour later!)
Ash had gotten Greninja back from Oak, who then revealed that he had made another Dex like Dexter and Eve.
However, he had checked the area and realized that they were close to the Mysterious Garden from the last timeline.
Right in the timeframe Bulbasaur wanted.
Right now, he was questioning the plan Bulbasaur came up with.
"So, your plan is to let some of the evolution energy slip out, let yourself get caught, and then have me, Greninja and Pikachu follow above?"
"Not the best laid out plans, but I NEED to talk to this Venasaur." Ash just raised his eyebrow at that.
Why did Bulbasaur NEED to talk to this one?
"OK look, I'll help, but you better not let them bully you into evolving in case I get hung up, ok?"
*WHAP! *
All other thoughts left his head when he got knocked across the face with about 4 Vine Whips.
Bulbasaur then found himself suspended up in the air by four other Bulbasaur.
"The ritual must be complete!" They said in unison.
"What are you!? Followers of a Ivysaur cult!?" He yelled out incredulously, seeing how creepy these four were.
The four then took off with Ash's Bulbasaur as Greninja helped Ash back to his feet.
"Well, I think we need to follow them without being within slapping range before they get to this Mysterious Garden." Ash said as he shook his head from the slaps.
"If they try that again, I'm not going to hesitate to use Arial Ace on them." Greninja growled out as he carried Ash and Pikachu up above in the treetops.
In view of his Bulbasaur, but out of view for the 4 carrying him.
It was about 10 minutes of running through the woods, but Ash and Pikachu began to recognize the general area they were in from the last timeline.
Soon, he saw the troupe stop and survey the area, as Bulbasaur averted his gaze to avoid tipping them off where Ash was.
Then, the trees began to make the wall that had almost blocked them off the last time.
However, Greninja was able to climb OVER the wall as they continued the chase.
And they then saw the ceremony was about to start.
Ash quickly used his Aura vision to figure out which one was his and saw how he kept the Everstone he had been given safe from prying eyes.
Then, he saw a Venasaur walking out of the tree like last timeline.
This Venasaur, however, looked older than the one from the last time, and he seemed almost sad in a way.
Not sad as he looked to be lazy, but like the fire he once had was extinguished.
"Today, is the day of our Semiannual Evolution festival. I, however, have an announcement." All the Bulbasaur and Ivysaur then listened in.
"Today is the last day I will hold this festival. After today, I will be leaving for the outside world, and find a new path for myself." Many Bulbasaur and Ivysaur looked in shock at this, but Ash noticed some of the Ivysaur just looked smug.
"Betcha one of them evolved into the Venasaur that tried to force Bulbasaur to evolve." Ash whispered to Pikachu and Greninja …
Before the Venasaur SOMEHOW grabbed the three of them and yanked them down.
"My leaves and joints may be old, but my hearing is as sharp as ever, lad. What you just said, though, that is concerning." Ash had planted his face directly into the ground, as Greninja leaped up and took a defensive position with Pikachu as Ash tried to yank his head free.
"Now then, I will be doing a THOROUGH check on all of you to see who is the one who will embody the festival." The Venasaur said, as Ash finally pulled his head free from the ground.
The Venasaur was about to continue when he saw Ash's face.
Then, everyone noticed him staring at him.
"Red?" He asked as Ash stared at him, then remembered the list and what Lt. Surge had told him.
"Wait are you Saur?" Venasaur looked saddened at that.
"Guess I should have seen that. Team Rocket made you forget me and released me after all." He said in sadness, before Vee released himself.
"Saur! It's not Red! It's his son!" Saur stared at Vee, then at Ash.
"Are you kidding me!? He looks just like him!" Pikachu then walked up to him.
"Well, I recall his Pikachu being able to Transform, and I have met him. Would he really do that?" Saur contemplated that.
"A fair point. But still, I'm not happy about having you come in like this. Doesn't your Bulbasaur wish to evolve? Isn't that why he came here?"
"If you call Vine Whipping me in the face, and then hoisting him up in the air against his will that." Saur stared at Ash, then slowly turned around and looked at the four that had dragged Bulbasaur here.
"We'll be having a discussion later. For now, they are allowed to watch, but not interfere. And I will NOT tolerate anyone pulling a stunt like this." All present gulped as he returned to his tone but nodded as Saur got back on the trunk.
"Now then, for those who choose to evolve, LET THE EVOLUTION ENERGIES FLOW!" With that, the tree began to flourish and pulse, as the gathered began to cry out in happiness as they began to evolve.
Those who were Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur, and those who already evolved went to the final evolution.
They were all smiling …
Until they saw Bulbasaur still refusing to evolve.
"I see. I can sense the presence of an Everstone on you, my young companion." Saur said as he got off the trunk, the other Saurs were looking angrily at Bulbasaur, before shirking back at the look Saur gave them.
"Yet, I sense that you are interested in evolving, of your own accord, of course. But that you wish to do something first?" Saur gently asked, as Ash made sure the others didn't interfere.
"Yes. This might be hard to believe, but my Trainer has traveled through time. The last time I was here, you had already left. Several Ivysaur and the Venasaur who replaced you tried to force me to evolve, but I refused. They only relented after I learned Solar Beam early." Bulbasaur told him as Saur motioned him to go on.
"When I was younger, I heard stories of another Bulbasaur who had done the same thing but chose to evolve. However, in the process, he figured out how to unlock a secret ability most Saur line members don't know. And they told me that you were the one." Saur took it all in, then nodded.
Before he took on an angered look and sent out his Vine Whip.
He was right in front of Bulbasaur who thought he was the target …
Before it zoomed past him and struck a Venasaur that had tried to sneak up on him.
"LEADER! YOU CANNOT LET THIS FOOL RUIN THE FESTIVAL!" He screamed, before getting tackled by a Take Down from Saur.
"And WE don't have the right to force evolution on ANYONE! He came for a different reason, one I thought no one would seek me out for!" Bulbasaur stared in awe.
Most other Venasaur were arrogant, flaunting their evolution like it was some kind of honor or something.
Which it was, but not to the extent most did.
Saur?
He didn't care.
"Then let me show you just how much more powerful we are than a Bulbasaur, SAUR!" The arrogant one said, as he then moved faster than Saur.
Unfortunately for him, he followed a rather predictable pattern.
"Sloppy. Is this all I taught? Power? No emphasis on finesse? No unpredictability?" He lazily asked before he shot a Sunny Day up into the air.
Ash and Company were horrified when they saw the enemy Venasaur immediately charge a Solar Beam and fire it at Saur.
When the beam ended, Saur was nowhere to be seen.
"YES! THAT IS WHAT TRUE POWER IS! COMPLETELY DOMINATING THE BATTLEFIELD! ALL OF YOU WILL FOLLOW ME NOW! MAKE THAT BULBASAUR EVOLVE!" He Ordered, with his eyes closed as he walked over to the Tree Stump Saur had used as a pedestal …
Before walking right into Saur.
"Is that really all that I taught you?" He asked before he turned to the stunned Saurs.
"If anyone forces him to evolve, expect a battle from me." The intent clear, Saur again vanished and sidelined the Venasaur attacking him with a Tackle.
"What's going on!? I'm more powerful! You're getting old! How are you outmaneuvering me!?" He wailed as Saur then knocked him over onto his back.
"Ironically, you're making me demonstrate the ability that Young Bulbasaur wanted to learn. Chlorophyll."
"This isn't a science fair! Fight me like a Venasaur!" Saur rolled his eyes at that.
"I take it all of you know what Hidden Abilities are?" He asked as the Saurs nodded.
"Chlorophyll is the Hidden ability of the Saur Line. Mostly used by the Hopip line, when the sun is harsh, it doubles our speed. Meaning that we wouldn't have to give up our speed!" He told them, as he then blitzed his opponent, not letting up.
The torment finally ended when Saur combined the Chlorophyll ability with Solar Beam and Take Down, ramming into the side of his opponent and sending him crashing into the cliffside.
When he landed, his eyes were swirls.
"Anyone ELSE want to take a crack at it?" The Saurs gulped and shook their heads.
"Now then, I have picked my successor from the AVAILIBLE Saurs here, but if I find out for one moment that one of you pulled a stunt that he tried to do, I will come back and END this." They all nodded as Saur then looked down at Bulbasaur and smiled.
"Ready to learn?" He asked, punching up another Sunny Day.
"Ash, there is an item at the top of the tree, within the hollows. Please climb up and get it." He told Ash, who wasted no time in doing what he was told.
"Now that he has a distraction, those who wish to learn Chlorophyll, PAY ATTENTION!" With that, all Saurs wanting to learn Chlorophyll lined up.
"It is very similar to Solar Beam, but instead of focusing it through our Bulbs or the equivalent, we focus it through our bodies."
"OK, so what exactly are we looking for?" Ash asked as he looked around.
"Hey, there's something glowing in the center of the roof!" Pikachu called out, as Greninja leaped up, and Ash looked through his eyes for a couple of seconds.
"Hey, that's a Mega Stone!" Ash said in astonishment.
"You're seriously telling me there was a Mega Stone here this whole time!?" Pikachu yelled in shock.
"Guess so. Now the question becomes how do we get it down?" Pikachu and Greninja looked at Ash in confusion until they saw the problem.
No ledges, no platforms to stand on, and since Greninja couldn't produce as many Frubbles as he used to, he had no way of getting anything sticky enough for him to climb up.
But he did know he could still make them.
And he then got an idea with Pikachu.
"Pikachu, apply these to your paws." Pikachu was held by Ash, as Greninja then took out some of the Frubbles under his tongue and applied them to Pikachu's paws.
"Now climb up there and get a good hold on that thing!" Pikachu looked confused but complied.
Soon he was near the Mega Stone.
He also felt the Frubbles starting to give out.
"OK, now what!?" He yelled …
Before Greninja leaped up and grabbed ahold of Pikachu.
"This is gonna hurt." Pikachu said …
As the Mega Stone slipped out of its spot and they both fell towards Ash.
And then landed on him hard.
"Next time, I'm going to make sure Lucario is here, so that we don't have to do this." He said as they got off him, and Pikachu gave him the Mega Stone.
It was blue green on the edges with a green and pink DNA structure on the inside.
"Dexter, can you tell what Mega Stone this is?" He asked, as he held him up to it.
"IT APPEARS TO BE A VENASAURITE. NOW THE QUESTION BECOMES IF BULBASAUR DECIDED TO EVOLVE ALL THE WAY." Ash nodded at that, as they left.
Bulbasaur had just tested out Chlorophyll for the first time.
He would end up smacking into objects, but he would learn.
"So, what's your next step?" Bulbasaur nearly jumped when Saur surprised him.
"Now I probably return to traveling with Ash. We can get you to Aero if you're willing to wait." Saur chuckled.
"Given what Vee showed me, I think that is for the best. But there is still time to evolve if you wish." Bulbasaur then brought out his Everstone and stared at it.
Was it time?
Was he ready to evolve?
"I'm not forcing you to evolve, I merely ask." Bulbasaur then looked up at him.
"Why did you evolve?" Saur then began to think about it.
"I guess I just felt ready to evolve. Bulbasaur, some of us choose not to evolve, like Pikachu and Pika. And look at them, they took down Legandaries that many people said that they shouldn't have." Bulbasaur remembered how Pikachu bragged about beating Brandon's Regice.
"I only fully evolved when my trainer was in danger, and when I first met Red, he opened the blinds, and I learned Solar Beam. So, I already knew it." Everything Saur said made Bulbasaur process this.
He had already surpassed him in what he did.
He saved the world, fought many Legandaries, even learned both specialties from the Line before he supposedly should have.
And yet, he had major losses, major setbacks.
He tied with a Meganium, lost to an Electabuzz, and took down two of Brandon's Pokémon before fainting.
So, what would his goal be if he evolved?
He thought about it, long and hard.
Once he made his choice there was no going back.
With that, he nodded.
"Well, whatever happens, it's up to Bulbasaur." Ash finished after they got out of the tree with the Venasaurite.
Ash then saw Saur walking up to him.
"I take it you're ready to go?" Saur nodded, before Ash realized something.
"Hey, where'd Bulbasaur get off to?" Saur then smiled and moved to the side.
Ash looked at the Ivysaur in confusion …
Until he saw the same splotch underneath one of his leaves.
"So, what made you evolve?"
"I have already outpaced Saur as a Bulbasaur, so my next goal before I evolve again is to defeat a Legendary with another Trainer before going. I still have that Everstone you gave me." Ivysaur told him as Ash smiled.
Saur then brought out his old ball and went inside it, Ash putting it in the same pocket as Vee.
"Well, shall we see what lies beyond the sunrise, Ivysaur?" Ivysaur smiled and they began the trek back to Saffron City.
(PALLET TOWN!)
Delia had just woken up from a strange dream.
She was back during her visit to the Silph Co.
Granted, she had done it to steal a new Legendary Team Rocket had created.
Quite the mess that was and when she embarrassingly fainted at the sight of it, having to be carried by Red the entire time.
Here, she had just gotten into the room she faced Sabrina in, when a Teen version of Sabrina and her own son had arrived.
Then a strange battle occurred with the Rocket Sabrina with a Slowbro and Jynx helping her beat her old Rocket self.
Then saying that they would have to finish their battle one day.
Delia rubbed her eyes.
"For such a strange dream, it really felt like I was there."
It also went unsaid that she felt hurt when she saw Blasty, Ditty, and Jiggly again.
"Then again, I think Red would have gotten a laugh at how my old self and Ash acted like two bickering siblings."
(SPEAKING OF RED!)
"Seriously? You're overly cautious now? What happened to the old Red!?" Bill said in a private coffee booth.
"Seriously, and this is why I asked you to meet me HERE. You can't keep a secret worth a damn if you're shouting like that." Red told him as he had taken off his mask.
Bill had tried to see him at the Gym, but Red knew that he wouldn't stay silent and that he might blow the cover to his plans.
So, he knocked him out and took him to a Coffee shop that had private booths in single rooms to keep it silent.
"Fine, but still, when are you going to pull this plan!?" Bill shouted, as he wanted this nightmare to end.
"When I get my old friends back and can make sure that the new MewTwo project Archer commissioned is finished." Bill just stared at that.
"Are you serious? Did you forget about what happened with BLAINE?"
"No, but I plan on making up for a mistake last timeline, so no, you're not convincing me." Bill sighed, seeing he wasn't going to win this fight.
"OK, I won't tell anyone about you except Daisy. Till then, I believe this is your old friend." Bill said, as he handed Red a Pokéball that he recognized as Poli's.
"Thank you." With that, Red paid the tab and left.

WELL, FINALLY GOT THIS CHAPTER DONE.
APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY OF THE CHAPTER, BUT AS YOU CAN TELL FROM HOW MUCH HAPPENED IN THIS CHAPTER, IT HAD TO TAKE SOME EXTRA TIME.
NOW THEN, ORIGINALLY, I WAS GOING TO HAVE PRIMEAPE EVOLVE IN THIS FIGHT, BUT THEN I REALIZED THAT HE BARELY WOULD HAVE ANY TIME TO BOND WITH ASH AS A PRIMEAPE, SO I HAVE STARTED THAT COUNTER TO KEEP TRACK OF HOW MANY TIMES PRIMEAPE HAS USED THE MOVE.
THE NEXT CHAPTER WILL NOT BE FOCUSING ON SERENA'S TRAINING, BUT THAT IS SO THAT WAY EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE CHAPTER SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE SOMETHING HAPPENED AS SOMEONE HAS POINTED OUT I HAVE BEEN NEGLECTING TO GIVE BROCK AND MISTY SOME GOOD BATTLES.
SO THE NEXT CHAPTER WILL BE A DEVIATION FOR EVERYONE.
MISTY WILL BE TAKING ON SOMEONE, BROCK WILL BE TAKING ON A CHALLENGE THAT USUALLY STAYS IN KALOS, AND ASH BONDS WITH PRIMEAPE WHILE TAKING ON A CHALLENGE NEXT DOOR TO SAFFRON GYM AND REUNITES WOTH ANOTHER JOURNEYS ALLY!
AS ALWAYS, IF ABLE, PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW SO THAT I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING GOOD AND WHAT I NEED IMPROVEMENT ON!
TILL THEN …
