CHAPTER 9: Boarding anf Facing off with Dementor

"If you don't want to join me next time I don't mind" Harry said bowing his head
"I don't mind join you next time" Tonks said, Harry jerked his head up and stared at Tonks
"I joined Auror Corp last year, this was the first time I got fight for my life, I mostly trained in infiltration and information gathering, as a trainee I don't get much chances to go on raids such as senior Aurors and Master Aurors, I only get to fight 2 days a week when Mad eyes was training me, this would be very useful for me to gain some field training" Tonks said, Harry smiled
"Though I can only join on weekends anyway, would it be fine with you" she asked
"Hey don't count us out just yet"
"We are planning to open our own joke shop-"
"-but to start one we need financing-"
"-till we gain enough galleons we were-"
"-bow down to our mother wishes-"
"-and going to join Auror Corp"
"So here Ms she-shall-not-be-named suggests"
"This is a good training for her it would help us too"
Both twins said in their own ping pong way, though Fred got a stinging hex from Tonks for using the moniker they started
"I am not going to let you face such creature without me there Harry" Hermione said
"I was really excited to use all the spells I learned in past 2 years and I forgot to pay attention to my Magic points, after today's lesson I would never go overboard again, but I must say it was a bit frightening, I played few games but all of them were on computer so they were on the screen so I didn't need to fear them, but this was so much real" Hermione said and hugged Harry, he smiled at them
"Thank you all, for not quitting after that defeat I thought you were not going to join me again, I just thought this as a game so I concentrated only on stats and all, I thought I already casted it once so I thought I mastered the spell like it was a game, no pun intended, I never considered training that spell again" Harry said with sigh
"What is that spell you are talking about Harry" Hermione asked
"Well, there is this spell called Holy flames as the name indicated it produce a jet of golden flames" Harry said, everyone looking at him as if he was barmy
"Um Harry your lips were moving but no sound came out" Hermione said
"Family Magic!" Tonks said, Harry nodded still confused not knowing what was wrong
"Well Harry, you were raised in muggle world so you don't know this" Fred started very serious
"Family Magic is what it says Family's magic, no one can learn those spells and anything your family created, if your family was the first one to create the spell it would be in your Family Grimoire, there can be a replication spells those can be only created by seeing the effects of the original spell, those also can be entered into family grimoire but this spell would not be at the same power level of the original spell, Family magic can only learned by only family members related by blood" Tonks explained, Harry sat there stunned
"that's not fair, knowledge shouldn't be horded like that it should be shared…" Hermione started
"Hermione, you very well know not all knowledge should be shared, even muggles don't share all the knowledge on everything, Knowledge is power, just imagine knowledge of how Nuke works in the hand of You-Know-Who, you should know already with magic everything was possible" Tonks said, Hermione flinched at the reprimand
"Ok, we know knowledge is dangerous in wrong hands, let's not fight about that please" Harry said, placed his hand on both Hermione and Tonks, Hermione sighed and nodded
"If you really want to learn Potter Family magic-" one of the Twins started
"-you can become the Potter officially and-"
"-then you can learn everything Harry can teach you-"
"-all about Potter Family magic" they said
"How? I mean how could someone become a Potter" Harry asked confused, Hermione and Tonks blushed but Tonks recovered fast
"Harry, please tell me you got the talk" Tonks asked, Harry blushed and averted his eyes from both females in the room looking at the table and nodded
"Thank god, we were afraid that you would say no-"
"-we are not that comfortable at that topic as well-"
"-but if you want though Dad can help you there" Twins said
"Though mum just told us not to touch anything or anywhere without girl's consent and before we reach 25 years old" one of twins said, both of them shuddered
"Stop that you two" Tonks snapped at them, "Harry, there are 3 ways to increase Potter family other than you find some long-lost Potters, first option was by marriage" Tonks started, Harry and Hermione blushed again
"Yes, second option was making babies" Tonks continued ignoring the growing blush on their faces,
"And last options was by magical or blood adoption, but that can be only performed by Head of House, not even Heir of the House can do that" Tonks said
"I can wait till I Graduate to learn Potter Family Magic" Hermione said, Harry stared at her with shock
"Well, I think we need to go and get our school supplies" one of the twins said, Harry nodded both of them left the room leaving Harry, Hermione and Tonks
"Well, I think I need to pack my things, I need to return to home and prepare for tomorrow" Hermione said and went to her room, Harry sighed, 'did I hear that right, did she just say what I think' Harry thought
Next day
Like always with Wesley family everything was chaotic on September 1st, he thought last time was the exception because they had one more person but it seems this was normal for them, Harry took out all his luggage out of his inventory and packed into the trunk, he doesn't want Mrs Weasley to suspect something, Hermione returned Home last night, she would directly come to Platform 9 3/4 with her parents
'Oh god would she introduce me to them today' he thought with dread, on the other hand Ron was still angry and not speaking with him, Harry shrugged not knowing what he need to do, he went down dragging his luggage, in the pub Mr Weasley was sipping tea, beside him Ginny and Percy were sitting eating their breakfast, Mr Weasley noticed him and waved him to join them
"So, Harry all packed up huh" he asked
"Yes, Mr Weasley" he said, then Ron entered clutching his rat in his hand, he scowled and sat far from him, then Mr Weasley took him to a corner
"Harry, I need you promise me that you won't go looking for Sirius Black" Mr Weasley said, Harry frowned
"Mr Weasley why would I try to go after the mass murderer" Harry asked, while he suspects the story was not completely true but he don't want to bring attention to himself by speaking out loud without knowing full story
"Well, he was supposed to be friends with James and Lily, he was the one that betrayed your parents' location" Mr Weasley said
"What" Harry gasped, something in this story felt off to harry and the memory he saw when he touched Crookshanks, he can see Sirius Black truly loved him he wouldn't harm him deliberately, was he forced to betray or something
"your parents and Frank and Alice Longbottom went into hiding as soon as you and Neville Longbottom were born, My family was the part of the group Professor Dumbledore headed during the war, your parents and their friends also part of it, when Lily and Alice gave birth we got information that You-Know-Who was after you both, I only know this because this was discovered by Gideon Prewitt he was brother of Molly, for over a year they keep moving but death eaters always found your location, we thought someone in the group was spy so Professor Dumbledore suggested to use Fidelius Charm, reluctantly James agreed to use the Fidelius charm and choose Sirius Black his friend as Secret Keeper, only he can disclose the location of your residence, so when your parents were killed he was imprisoned for betraying your family and now he escaped from Azkaban stating 'he is at Hogwarts', we think he is after you" Mr Weasley said
Harry was staring in the space processing the information, there are few questions in his mind, 'why didn't they leave UK and move to USA or Asia, it's not like Tom can find them where they were in the whole world, why did his father gave away the Invisibility cloak to Dumbledore if they kept it he could use it and try to escape right' he thought for few minutes ignoring Mr Weasley, then Ron shouted he looked up and found his rat squirming as if it want to run away he looked at him

He felt something off about this, a common rat won't live for more than 2 years then how did this rat survived over 3 years, he frowned and about to ask Mr Weasley but at that moment Mrs Weasley came dragging twins and 2 trunks levitated behind her
"Ronald lock that think in the cage, there are many cats in Hogwarts, it was only Professor Dumbledore's generosity and Percy's good grades was the only reason he allowed to take that rat to Hogwarts, if you can't take care of it leave it behind" she scolded him, Harry winced at the volume
"I will take care of it mum" Ron said with red face
"Now that everyone was here let's get going" she said, then twin came to him
"Oh, our glorious leader-"
"Heir to the pranking Royalty-"
"Guys please cut to the point" Harry said cutting them off, already guessing why they came to him
"Well, mum already took everything pranking related from our trunks" the first twin said
"So would you give us a hand and store our cargo in your inventory till we reach Hogwarts" and the second twin finished. Harry pinched the bridge of his nose
"Fine, but if you use anything on me or Hermione, you will regret it" he said, they both nodded vigorously, he followed them to store their pranking material into his inventory and returned to ground floor to move out to boarding Hogwarts express
"Where have you been" Mrs Weasley yelled at them, and grabbed one of the twins and with a pop disappeared after a moment she returned and took one after the other, after a disorienting ride he was infront of the red locomotive
"Harry!" he heard the voice of his new girlfriend, he turned around braced himself and raised his hand just in time to hug her there was someone clearing their throat, Hermione blushed and took a step back behind her there are 2 people one male and female, for last few weeks he got used to get information like names of the others, so he immediately looked up at the name screens

He gulped at the Ex-SAS part and he was also stunned to see Mr Granger was over level 50, by the look of it Hermione can't see these screens or she already know of her parents' occupation
"Ah Mum, this is Harry my boyfriend, Harry these are my parents Dr Emma Granger and Dr Daniel Granger" Hermione introduced him, he noticed Mr Granger's eye tightening,
"Oh so this is the Harry Potter huh" Mrs Granger looked him up and down, fortunately for him the past week he brought few new outfits that really fit him so he don't look like street bum, and thanks to his metamorph abilities and dispelling his curse on his hair he washed out good, Mr Granger shook his hand, he tried not to wince as her father gripped his hand, if not for his level 39 stats his hand bones would have few cracks, seeming satisfied he let go of Harry's hand
"Hmm very well, let's meet during Christmas and discuss about this, and it seems it was almost time for your train to start" he said firmly, he hugged hermione one last time and guided them to the compartments, on the way he found a huge black dog looking at him and whining, he approached it recognising the dog he met the day he got this gamer abilities, he again bought few energy bars from store
"Hay there boy, this is a coincidence huh its second time we met in past few weeks, if you can enter this platform you were some kind of magical breed huh, so did your master died or what" he asked feeding the dog the energy bar, the dog scarfed the bar down and whined and rubbed into him
"Sorry big guy I can't take you with me, I don't think Hogwarts would allow dogs, because the castle filled with cats Kneazles and Half-Kneazles" he said with a frown
"hmm, maybe Hagrid can take care of you if I ask him" he pondered, then Hermione and her parents approached him, Crookshanks in Hermione's hands jumped downed and approached the dog and examining the dog and rushed at the dog and swiped at the dogs face, Hermione shouted at Crookshanks expecting the dog to attack back, the dog whined pitifully after few minutes Crookshanks stopped attacking him and huffed and returned to Hermione, leaving everyone confused at what they are looking
"Huh, it seems you are atleast trained not to attack, so follow me I will ask Hagrid if he could take care of you or he can find anyone who can take care of you, and let me introduce myself I am Harry Potter, and this is my girlfriend Hermione Granger" he said pointing at Hermione, the dog looked at her and wagged his tail
"Is it okey to take him Harry, what if Hagrid can't take care of him" Hermione asked
"Well, we can hide him in the 3rd floor corridor, although it would be big for him than the last dog that was hidden there" he said laughing, Hermione smacked him, they boarded the train following them a dog with hopeful expression
They went to the compartment Harry sat in his first trip to Hogwarts and found it already had an occupant that was sleeping, Harry looked at Hermione she just shrugged and moved to find another compartment that was free or atleast with students they knew, after few minutes they found a compartment that only had one person with blond hair and reading the magical magazine upside down
"Uh excuse me, if you don't mind can we sit here" Harry asked, she looked up from the magazine with wide eyes
"Come in, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger I didn't expect to meet you this early, this is a quite surprise, my name is Luna Lovegood" she said eerily, Harry looked at her confused and looked at the screen

"Huh, it's odd you are different from others, how did this happened" she asked tilting her head in confusion, he shook his head and sat before here and Hermione sat beside him with a frown and dog entered the compartment and curled on the floor
"Oh, you even brought Mr Stubby Boardman" she said patting the dog
"Oh, do you know the dog's owner Luna" he asked
"Owner, why does he need an owner, while I don't know him well, but my parents know him very well, they can't do anything when he was sent to snogging huskies they are quite a deadly creatures you know Quibbler my father's magazine explained everything few weeks ago" she said with a smile, Harry can see and hear the loneliness in her tone even if she was smiling he can see through it, because he too have same look in his eyes before he met Hermione and Ron, so he want to be friends with her, he want to protect her
"So, Luna do you know Mr Stubby Boardman then" Harry asked
"Well, he was a very famous singer in a group called hobgoblins, my father like their songs, but nearly 12 years ago they split up and stopped singing" she said, Harry and hermione nodded, train was already started moving few minutes ago
"So, Luna you are now in 2nd year right, are you ok with return to Hogwarts from what happed last year" Hermione asked, Harry frowned
"Oh, it's alright, I am fine, there are few people who really believed Harry Potter was the Heir of Slytherin and dark when you spoke Parsel tongue, but you might be Heir of Slytherin but from what I know you are not dark" she said, he blinked
"But I am not Heir of Slytherin" he said trying to hide the slight panic, she fixed him with a stare
"Hmm yeah you are not Heir of Slytherin at that moment I guess" she said with a shrug, then suddenly train halted in its tracks, after a moment the window of the compartment started freezing, he saw few ghostly figures entering the train, then he heard the dog whining and heard a women shouting 'Not Harry', he noticed the effects at the same moment a ghostly figure outstretched its hand to open the door of the compartment

"No not this time" he yelled and stood protective infront of Hermione and Luna and closed his eyes and remembered the memory he remembered when he held Crookshanks, he pushed every single drop of mana into the spell and shouted at the top of his lungs "EXPECTO PATRONUM" at that time silvery mist gushed out of the wand surprisingly it didn't only formed around him, the dome like protection field engulfed entire train, the dementors that entered train screamed like it was caught on fire and fled from the location
Unknown to all of them Patronus also has calming effect if the memory used has that effect on the caster, this memory gave harry the hope of starting his own family one day, so the entire train felt the emotion of hope, driving fear away from their mind
