Crow: It's been a while since we've been here

Lyra: Yeah, it's been a few years, hasn't it?

Crow: Well hopefully they will see more of us when it's time for our story. But for now, it's Tyran's time to shine

Chapter 1: Arrival

P.O.V none:

A young boy around 15 with spiky red hair, blue eyes, lightly tanned skin, wearing an orange/red lightweight hoodie, orange tinted goggles with black rims hanging around his neck, black pants, black fingerless gloves and red boots with black soles. He was looking over the edge of the boat he was on out towards the ocean.

P.O.V change, Tyran:

"So, I'm finally going to Vivosaur Island," I thought. "It's a shame Hunter couldn't come with me though." I pull out a photo from my pocket and unfold it revealing an image of myself and a boy that looks almost like me. Except this he had black hair, paler skin, and was wearing a purple shirt with black jeans sitting in a wheelchair.

"How are you holding up bud?" A voice calls from the helm, I put the photo away and turn towards it, seeing a man in a blue Hawaiian fossil print shirt, light tan shorts, black loafers, and a straw hat standing at the wheel.

"Not too bad Captain Travers," I respond. "Got an ETA?" Captain Travers Shakes his head, "It's still going to be a couple of hours," he responds. "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about yourself to pass the time?"

"Sure" I replied, "Ask away." Captain Travers turns his head to the side as he asks, "So what brings you to Vivosaur Island?"

"A couple of reasons." I reply, "Me and my brother wanted to become fossil fighters, but he got into a bit of an accident a few months back." Captain Travers winced at this, "Ouch, Sorry kid."

"It's okay," I sighed. "It's not like you pried for that" Then Captain Travers tried changing the subject by asking, "So what's the other reason for coming?"

"My mother wanted me to meet up with a couple of her colleagues over there," I responded with a grin. "I'm really excited to see them again!"

"Oh?" said Travers intrigued, "One final question, care to tell me your favorite dinosaur?" I pondered for a momentAfter he asked this.

"If I had to choose, it would have to be the T-rex." I replied, Captain Travers chuckled. "What's so funny?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

"Nothing," said Captain Travers. "So, Tyran the T-rex fan, eh? Go figure"

"Hey!" I exclaimed. This back-and-forth banter lasted for a while, eventually we could see Vivosaur Island off in the distance.

It took a while but we finally pulled into the dock of the main settlement of the Island.

"First stop Fossil Town!" Announced Captain Traverse. I grabbed my luggage and stepped on the dock and looked around. To my left I could see a large fountain, behind it stood a large red dome like building, a large hotel to the far right, and white lab like building in between the two. I also noticed that there was a separate road off to the side of the hotel that I could only assume lead to a housing development. "Well kid I'd love to stay and chat, but I have to take some of the fighters over to Bottoms up Bay"

I turned and waved, "See you later Cap." I continued to make my way down the dock when two women flagged me down. One of the women had a blue and yellow uniform with a name tag that said Beth, the other had a pink and green uniform with a name tag that read Sue. "Hello, welcome to Fossil Town" greeted Beth, "What brings you to Vivosaur Island?"

"I came to register as a Fossil Fighter," I replied. "Can you please point me in the direction of the Fossil Center?"

"Ah, yes," said Sue, "That would be the building directly ahead." She said pointing to the lab-like building. Just as she said this a thin man with green hair, wearing a pair of glasses, a white lab coat over a yellow shirt, a pair of orange swim trunks, and a pair of sandals, rush out and begin pacing around and mumbling to himself before running off to the left past the large dome building.

Beth and Sue covered their faces with their hands in frustration. "...That would be Dr. Diggins," Beth said with her face still covered. I just shook my head and chuckled, "Classic Doc" I thought. Sue then takes her hands off her face. "Why don't you go check with Wendy at the Fossil Center to see when he'll be back." she suggested.

"Yeah, That sounds like a good idea" I replied, I then began to head down carrying my luggage. I arrived at the Fossil Center, as I entered I saw a woman in a purple and green uniform. "Oh, Welcome to the Fossil Center!" she calls to me, I walk over and see a name tag that reads Wendy.

"Beth and Sue told me to come see you," I said. "They told me you could help me register to become a Fossil Fighter?"

Wendy sighed, "Normally yes, but unfortunately Dr. Diggins ran off a little while ago."

"Yeah, that sounds like him," I say. "From what mom told me he does that whenever he gets a new idea for an invention." Wendy perks up at this.

"Oh, you know him?" she asks, surprised.

"He's an old colleague of my mother's," I replied. "Her name's Ruina Ancien." Realization dawns on Wendy.

"You're one of Ruina's boys?" She asked. "You must be Tyran, Dr. Diggins said you'd be over soon." She sighed, "He picked a fine time to storm off," she sarcastically muttered before looking back towards me. "Why don't you go check in at the Relic Hotel, at least Dr. Diggins remembered to book you a room. I'll call for you when he returns."

"Thanks," I smiled, heading back towards the exit. After I stepped outside the large doors someone ran behind me and tripped. I winced as they fell, "Owww..." Whined a feminine voice, I quickly turned around to check on them. I saw a teenage girl wearing a pink explorer's shirt, a pink hat, maroon pants, black stockings, and pink sneakers getting up off the ground.

"Are you alright?" I asked helping her up.

"Yeah, I'm fine" She replies dusting herself off. "Thanks for helping me up," She extends her hand. "My name's Peggy!"

I take her hand in a firm handshake, "Tyran." I responded.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Tyran!" she said, "I got to go, bye!" with that she runs off, "Thanks again!" she calls back as she runs.

I chuckle, "What a weird girl," With that I enter the hotel and head towards the front desk. Once I'm there, I was greeted by the hotel manager.

"Welcome to the Relic Hotel," he says. "Would you like to reserve a room, or do you already have a reservation?"

"It should be under either Dr. Diggins, or Ruina Ancien," I replied. The keys klack as he types into his keyboard.

"Ah, here you are," he said. "You must be Tyran, we've been expecting you." He gets up from behind the counter and calls over a bellhop to grab my bags. "Allow me to show you to your room. He waves me over to the elevator to the right passed the giant tree in the lobby. We step in and the man presses the elevator button for the third floor. After reaching the floor we step out and he takes me over to the third door from the elevator.

"Here we are," he said. "Room number 303." I stepped in and the bellhop drops off my bags, "Thank you." I smiled at them before they left. I grabbed one of my suitcases, lifted it onto the bed and began to unpack. Bag after bag I made sure to take everything out and put it in place. Once I was finished I flopped down on the bed. It wasn't even two minutes later when I heard a knock on the door. I went over to open it and was greeted by the hotel manager.

"Wendy from the Fossil Center just called," he spoke. "Dr. Diggins returned and she said to hurry before he wanders off again."

"Thank you," I replied before heading out. Once I get to the Fossil Center, Wendy greats me again.

"Oh, welcome to the Fossil Cen-" she begins before realizing it's Me, "Oh Tyran!" she exclaims. "Dr Diggins is in the revival room waiting for you, now hurry before he runs off again!"

I nodded and headed into the revival room, I could see Dr. Diggins in front of a large console, behind the console is an even larger machine with four pedestals in front of it. Dr. Diggins turned to face me, "Ah, Tyran my boy!" He says excitedly, "It's been too long!"

"Hey Doc!" I say just as excited.

"How's your mother and brother doing?" he asked.

"They're doing great!" I responded. "Hunter's still recovering, and he should probably be here in a few months!"

"That's good." Dr. Diggins replied relieved, "Now give me a second so I can set up the fossil for your test." He then goes and places a fossil in the machine.

"There we go Tyran, why don't you head over to the control console." Dr. Diggins told me. I did as he said and headed over to the console. When I looked over it I see a screen with a digital image of the fossil rock on a screen, a timer, a t-rex head shaped meter, what looks to be an icon of a hammer, a drill icon, and an orange button. "The hammer is to break the outer layer, and the drill is for the finer details" explains Dr. Diggins as he steps back from the machine. "Good luck!"

Each tap with the hammer revealed more and more of the fossil that was encased in the rock. The cracking of the stone filled me with joy and worry as I cleaned the fossil. "Come on Tyran, you can do it." I tell myself as the timer ticks down. Switching to the drill I started to clean the finer details out of the rock. With only a few seconds remaining I manage too successfully clean the fossil, revealing a skull. I let out a sigh of relief.

"Wow, I'm impressed, not many can get a perfect score on their first try!" Exclaimed Dr. Diggins. "Now let's revive him, shall we?"

He placed The head fossil on one of the pedestals of the large machine. The machine seemed to react with the fossil causing it to glow with a brilliant light. I grin as a loud roar fills my ears, "Hello, Partner."
