It was afternoon and Lucy was enjoying a quiet moment at her Connecticut house. Ricky and Fred had gone out somewhere.

There was a knock on the door. Opening it, she saw a kid in his early 20's.

"Mrs. Ricardo, I don't know if you remember me."

"Yes, I do. Sammy..."

"Lawson."

"Oh, yes! How are you doing?"

"Really good. In fact, I've come by to tell you some exciting news!"

"Well, come on in and tell me!"

"Sure!"

She escorted him in.

"Would you like a glass of lemonade? I've just made it."

"That would be nice, thank you."

She got two glasses out, put ice in them, then poured in the lemonade. She gave one to him, and they went into the living room and sat down on the couch.

He drank it. "This is wonderful!"

"Thank you."

"It's hard to make good lemonade; it often is either too sweet, or too sour."

"You're right, Sammy. Ok, what's your news?"

"I'm going steady with a girl!"

"That's wonderful! Tell me about her."

"Her name is Isabella Mancini. She's Italian-or at least her parents are."

"Is she pretty?"

"Very; she looks like Sophia Loren!"

"Wow!"

"And do you remember when I told you that I wanted to marry a girl as crazy and kooky as you are?"

"I sure do! Is she?"

"Yes! Do you know that winery that's close to here? It's called Briar Farm Wine."

"Oh, yes. We have a couple bottles of their wine; it's pretty good."

"Oh, ok. Well, a month ago they hosted a wine festival."

"I read about it. Ricky and I would've gone, but we were involved in something else."

"Well, I went to it. One of the activities was a grape stomp-and Isabella was one of the girls doing it!"

"Oh, wow!"

"Seeing the girls do it made me think of you!"

"I'll bet it did!"

"Anyway, afterwards, she kinda hung around for a bit, so I went up and talked with her. And we really hit it off! I asked her out, and she accepted. She lives right here in town."

"That's wonderful!"

"If fact, we've been on four dates, and I'm beginning to feel like she's the girl for me!"

"Oh, that's wonderful, Sammy!"

"Oh, and about the grape stomp: I talked with her about it. She said she really loved doing it. And she's told me that she might be able to arrange it so that she and I could do that together, some time!"

"That sounds great, Sammy! But let me give you a bit of advice."

"Ok."

"Don't force her; don't keep bringing it up with her."

"I know, you're right, Mrs. Ricardo."

"She'll tell you when she wants to do it. And if she doesn't, don't let that upset you too much."

"I will. By the way, she told me that the grapes didn't stain her feet!"

"Well, that's nice to know!"

"Mind if I tell her about you?"

"Sure. And I'd like to meet this girl, sometime."

"Ok."

They drank the rest of their lemonade, and talked for a bit. Finally, he said, "Well, I guess I should be going, now."

"Ok, Sammy. You can put your glass in the sink."

"Sure."

They got up and put their glasses there. Then she led him to the door.

"Mrs. Ricardo, hope you don't mind if I do this."

"Do what, Sammy?"

He kissed her on the cheek!

She smiled. "Thank you, Sammy! But you'd better not do this when my husband's around!"

"I won't. See you later."

"Now, remember: You'll introduce me to this girl."

"I will. Bye, Mrs. Ricardo."

"Bye. Sammy."

He left. She touched the spot where he kissed her, and smiled!
