White Sand Ch. 3
"Fuck." She hissed out.
For what seemed like the millionth time, Davy swiped at the hair the kept falling into her eyes and it was making it hard to concentrate on her work. Expelling some air, she watched as the long blonde hair that kept falling into her face float in front of her. Mentally she debated on just cutting her hair into a pixie cut, but as she tucked the loose strand behind her ear, she knew that she just didn't have the face structure to support such a bold look.
Sighing, Davy attempted to focus her attention on the contract that needed to be revised, but unfortunately between her hair sliding into her face and her brain replaying what happened on the beach a close to a week ago, she knew that the best thing for her now was to shut the laptop and try again later.
Pushing herself away from her desk, Davy quickly stood up and made her way towards the kitchen, hopeful that a hot cup of tea would help her relax. But as she stood over the tea kettle, the only thing that her brain could focus on was the sound of Arthurs voice as he yelled at her.
Flinching as the memory washed over her, she found herself staring at her reflection in the kettle, her mind unable to stop bringing her back to that moment.
Flashback
"I can't swim well." She rasped out. Her voice sore from coughing out the water.
Arthur found himself blinking at her, his ears heard the words that left her fucking mouth, but his brain was having a hard time believing it. Feeling the veins in his head starting to throb, Arthur took a menacing step forward determined to hear the fucking punchline. But as he looked down at her, he could see that she was 100% serious and, in that moment, he couldn't contain the rage that he was feeling.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" he growled out. Reaching down, Arthur pulled her up to her feet, his eyes staring into her wide gold ones. "ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE? He yelled out.
Davy could feel her heart beating in her chest, fear pulsing through her veins and all she wanted was to get as far away from this man as quickly as she could, but his grip on the back of her shirt was just too strong. But as the fear moved through her body, the rage was right behind it, and that was the last thing that she needed to have happen.
Clenching her teeth, Davy took several deep breaths, hoping that she would be able to control herself. "Get your fucking hands off me, now."
Pulling her closer to his face, Arthur could see that she was scared but under that she was getting pissed off, hell even her golden eyes started to shine a little brighter. "You're not in a position to demand anything." Leaning down a little closer to her face, "What the fuck were you thinking going out there if you can't fucking swim?" he growled out.
Pushing against his chest, Davy used the little momentum that she had to get free of his grip. "Do not ever grab me like that again." Stepping back, Davy wrapped her arms around herself, not because she was cold, but to keep herself grounded.
Taking another step away from him, Davy kept her eyes on him, thankful that while pissed off, he didn't take another step towards her and that helped her keep herself from losing the little control that she had.
Sticking out her chin, Davy could see that it wasn't something that he was going to drop and as much as it pissed her off, she came to the quick conclusion that it was better to just answer his question so that she could move on with her life. Exhaling slowly, Davy pinched her elbow as hard as she could, using the pain to help refocus her rage, and after a few minutes she could feel some of that rage starting to dissipate.
Taking a deep breath, Davy kept her eyes on him scared that if she blinked, he would make a move towards her again and that wouldn't be good, for him or herself. Taking another calming breath, Davy kept her eyes on his. "I didn't think about that." Sighing, "I heard its cries, and I ran towards the noise. I saw the poor thing tangled on the rocks and I just couldn't let it die like that."
Watching her as she moved away, Arthur couldn't help but smirk at how pissed she was, if he wasn't angry at her, he might have found it mildly amusing. Taking a step back, he let his eyes really take her in, from the way her blonde hair stuck to her face, to the way her sweater clung to her chest, and it really dawned on him that she was beautiful. As that thought moved through his brain, he quickly pushed it away, he didn't want to be distracted by another beautiful woman.
Breathing through his nose, he kept his gaze on her, surprised that she never turned her eyes away from him, a stark contrast to his previous interactions with her. Rubbing his hand down his beard, "Why didn't you go get some help?" Still not understanding what prompted her to risk her life.
Davy watched as his emotions moved from anger to annoyance, it wasn't much of an improvement, but it would help her get back to calm. Slowly bringing her hands to her side, grimacing at the feel of wet jeans against her skin, "The tide was coming in and by the time I found someone, it would have drowned."
Hearing a loud squeal, Davy turned towards the water, her eyes finding the whales splashing in the water, smiling at the sight. Without looking back at Arthur, Davy kept her eyes on the animals using their playfulness to push the rest of her anger out her body, thankful that she finally felt in control of herself.
Arthur followed her line of sight, smirking a bit when he saw what distracted her, "Him."
Looking over her shoulder, confused at what he said. "What?"
Pointing to the whale that was jumping, "The one you saved, is a male." Tilting his head, he could hear his mother thanking her for risking her life for her son. "His mother is grateful to you."
Feeling her eyes go wide, she turned back to the whales then back to him, "You understand them?" she asked him.
Chuckling a bit at the surprise in her golden eyes, "Yeah, kind of my thing." He said to her. Smirking a bit as he watched her absorb that bit of information.
Rubbing her fingers through her wet hair, Davy just wanted to go home, shower, and let her body warm up. Exhaling slowly, she was just too mentally drained to continue this argument with him. "Thank you again for pulling me out." Turning on her heels, Davy headed towards the trail that would bring her home, but as she took another step, she found her wrist being pulled back. Turning her head, "What now?"
Not even sure why he did it, Arthur reached out and took ahold of her wrist, "You're welcome."
Giving him a curt nod, Davy pulled her hand out of his and moved quickly up the cliffside trail, desperate to get home and warm herself without prying eyes.
End Flashback
If it wasn't the high pitch whistling coming from her kettle, Davy would have been stuck in that memory loop for God knows how long. Blinking rapidly to get her mind clear, she turned her eyes towards the kettle rolling her eyes as she realized her hand was on the stupid thing. Sighing, annoyed at herself for not paying more attention to where her hand was, not that it hurt her, but if she got used to being so careless in private, she could get too comfortable and that could cause issues in her personal life.
Reaching into her cupboard, Davy quickly got her teacup and started to pour herself a nice hot cup of tea. Settling herself by the fireplace, she realized that she left the matches over by the kitchen island, sighing, not wanting to get back up, she made a promise not to let this become a habit. Reaching down to one of the logs, Davy watched as the blue flame from her hand ignited the logs, pulling her hand out smiling that it didn't take long for the warmth from the fire to spread through her living area.
Closing her eyes as the heat touched her skin, Davy knew that she needed to stop hiding from the man, but as she made the decision to head to Betty's the sound of knocking on her door pulled her from her train of thought. Rolling her neck as she stood, Davy made peace that it was probably Ms. Williams again looking for her stupid cat.
Plastering a fake smile on her face, Davy opened the door only to be surprised to see Atlanna standing there. Stepping aside, "Come on in." While she was still a little sensitive about what happened with Arthur, she never stopped talking to her friend, nor would she. And perhaps, she could just be honest, because if anyone understood it should be a Queen from the city of Atlantis.
Arthur found himself looking over the cove, his eyes watching the whales hunt in the shallows, it was one of the few things that brought a smile to his face these days. However, ever so often he would turn his attention to the cliffside hoping that she would come back, but it seemed that she was not only avoiding Betty's but the cove as well.
Kicking a rock, he couldn't help but get frustrated with himself for even giving a shit, but he rationalized it under the guise that he should at least apologize for how he acted. Not that he was sorry about it, he was still pissed that she would have put herself in danger without really thinking about the consequences, but he probably didn't need to yell at her.
But the more he thought of that day, he couldn't help but chuckle a bit, while she was initially scared of how he came at her, that was quickly replaced with anger, and that was something that surprised the hell out of him. The two times he interacted with her before, she looked like she was ready to bolt away, but the moment he cornered her that shy girl was gone and in her place was someone that wasn't going to take shit.
That was the only thing that made her mildly interesting or so he kept telling himself, but deep down he knew that was bullshit. Running his hands through his hair, frustrated that for the last week he had been waiting on her to show and like every night before she never did.
"Fuck." He growled out. Kicking another rock into the water, Arthur made the choice that he would head to Betty's tonight, but tomorrow if she was going to continue to hide, he'd knock on her fucking door and put an end to this bullshit.
Turning on his heels, Arthur headed towards his truck, figuring that before he crashed for the night, he would grab a beer from Betty's and hopefully put the little blonde out of mind.
"What's with the face?"
Downing his beer, Arthur lifted his eyes towards Betty, giving her a small smile, "I was born with it." Rolling his neck, "Another?"
Rolling her eyes, Betty just nodded. "You're a smart-ass." Wiping the bar top down, "You know what I mean, what's wrong, sweetie?" she asked, hoping that he would tell her.
"Nothing that I can't figure out Bets." Looking up in her eyes, he knew that she was hoping for some juicy gossip. As much as he loved her, that was one of the qualities about her that he despised.
Huffing a bit, she loved him, hell the whole town loved their local hero, but it wouldn't kill him to give them a little something that would make him 'normal.' She found herself opening and closing her mouth a few times, but as she found something witty to say, the sound of the bell chiming pulled her attention. A huge smile spread across her face, "DAVES! Where the hell you've been?"
Turning in his seat, Arthur watched as she walked into the bar, her hair down in long blonde waves, but it was the deep orange sweater dress that clung to her body that had his mouth going dry.
Locking eyes with Betty, Davy made her way to the bar, but she was acutely aware that Arthur was staring at her. Keeping a few seats in between them, Davy gave Betty a smile, "Sorry Betty, I got bombarded with work and stupid deadlines."
Pushing a pint of Guiness in front of her, Betty gave her a sad smile, "What kind of work do you do, Daves?" Realizing that she never asked her.
Shivering as she felt Arthur watching her intently, Davy focused her energy on Betty. "I'm an Sr. Audit Manager." Smirking at her face, "I know it's super exciting."
Scrunching her nose, "I can only imagine. All those numbers, analyzing, and spreadsheets. You're living the dream." Hearing her name, Betty knew that the guys at the back table were looking for their refills, "Be back in a bit sweetheart."
Davy could feel him staring, it was annoying the hell out of her, turning her head slightly, feeling uneasy as she realized he moved only a barstool away. "Why are you staring at me?" Not really meaning for her voice to sound so annoyed.
Arthur could feel his eye twitching, "You want to cut the fucking attitude?" he growled out. Keeping his eyes on hers, a little surprised that she kept eye contact, but it seemed that it was something that she did when she was either angry or annoyed.
Snorting, Davy just stared at him for a solid minute not sure what was pissing her off, the way he just stared at her or how he had the audacity to assume that she was the one with the attitude. Turning her attention back to her beer, Davy could only just shrug her shoulder.
"I don't have an attitude," taking a sip of her beer, she could feel him staring more. "You've been nothing but a douche to me since you walked into the bar, then you yelled at me because I got pulled under by a strong current." Turning her head ever so slightly, "If anyone has had an attitude it's been you."
Gripping the edge of the bar, he could hear it cracking under his fingers, but he refused to destroy Betty's bar because she pissed him off. Clenching his teeth, "I'm sorry for yelling." Exhaling slowly, "I still think you were stupid for putting yourself in danger, but I shouldn't have yelled at you." Hoping that she would accept his apology, because he wasn't going to do it again.
She could feel her eyebrows hitting her hairline, out of all the shit he could have said, that was the last thing that she would have ever expected. Finding herself staring at him for another second, Davy could see that this was the best apology that she would ever get. Shaking her head, after her talk with Atlanna, she could understand somewhat why he was so fucking angry, she too understood what it felt like to have someone you loved utterly to destroy you.
Making a quick decision, she knew that they could either continue as they were or perhaps just maybe they could be socially polite to each other. Snorting a bit at his face, it was clear that he wasn't used to apologizing to anyone, picking up her beer, she quickly downed the thing. Reaching into her pocket she placed a $20 down, her eyes finding his, "Apology accepted."
With that Davy got up and headed out the door, figuring that now that was done with, she could go back and focus on her job.
Arthur was shocked more than anything that she was able to down her beer so quickly, but even more so when she accepted his apology. However, it took a moment for his brain to catch up with the fact that she was already halfway to the door. Placing a $20 down for his drinks, he bolted out the door behind her, not even understanding what prompted him to move. But as the cool weather touched his face, could see that she was walking towards the road.
Moving towards her, Arthur made a grab for her hand, "Did you walk here?" he asked, not seeing a vehicle that he didn't know.
Glancing down at where he held her hand, Davy swore she could feel a little shock move through her body. Shaking off the feeling, Davy found him staring at her with a confused look on his face, "Yeah, it was a nice walk."
Staring in her eyes, he was stunned for a moment as he felt a surge of electricity course through his body. "It's 38 degrees, you're not even wearing a jacket." Dropping her hand, he shucked off his and handed it to her, "I'll take you home." Smirking as she just stared at him, "My mom would be pissed if I let you walk at night when it's fucking cold."
Davy stared at the jacket as though it might bite her, and she knew that Atlanna would understand, but Arthur would not. Sighing, perhaps sometime this weekend she'd head to Portland to get a winter coat of her own, if anything to wear it when she was out in public. Reaching for the jacket, she gave him a small smile, "I guess it wouldn't kill me if you brought me home."
Wrapping it around her shoulders, Davy couldn't help but laugh, "It's freaking huge." She said, not really meaning for that to be heard.
Laughing a bit, Arthur couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of his coat practically swallowing her. "I'm not a small guy and you're kind of tiny." He retorted. Placing his hand on her shoulder, he quickly turned her towards his beat-up truck, "It's not fancy, but it's warm."
"Doesn't need to be fancy." she said, jumping into the cab. Leaning back, she gave him directions to her home, and for the first time since they met, she didn't feel like he was an adversary.
The drive itself wasn't long, nor was the quietness in the cabin awkward, but all too soon, he found himself pulling up in front of her house. "See, wasn't too bad." He joked.
Chuckling a bit, "No, it was almost pleasant." Unzipping the jacket, Davy opened the door and placed it on the seat, "Thanks for the ride, and the jacket."
Seeing her shut the door, he didn't know what made him do it, but he couldn't stop himself if he tried. "Do you want me to teach you how to swim?" Realizing that with winter coming the water would be too cold. "You know, in the summer." He wanted to punch himself in the face as the words left his mouth, but it was too late to take them back.
Leaning against the door, Davy just smirked, "As tempting as that sounds, however, your mom came by earlier and told me that she was going to make sure that I knew how to swim." Chuckling at his face, "I was not going to argue with her, you know, she's a Queen." Stepping back, "Thank you again, and goodnight, Arthur."
He could feel his face fall when she said his mom was going to be doing that, but perhaps he would find a way to take over her lessons. "Goodnight, Davina." As soon as she shut the door, he watched her until the front porch light went off, feeling that she was safely tucked in her home, he made his way towards his, and as he made his way towards the lighthouse, he couldn't help but feel a little lighter.
TIME JUMP 2 WEEKS
Davy found herself staring at the waves, while it wasn't as choppy as it was the day she got pulled under the memory, however, of her being rolled by the waves were at the forefront of her mind. Huffing, she moved towards the water, groaning as she felt the wetsuit riding up her ass.
"Do you really think all this is necessary?" she asked, indicating to the wetsuit, shoes, and gloves to match.
Chuckling, Atlanna just nodded, "Of course. If someone happens to stumble upon us, I'm the only one that shouldn't be affected by the water." Placing her hand on her hips, smirking as she watched her friend mentally debate with herself about stepping in. "You're overthinking it."
Exhaling, Davy knew that she was right, not wanting to let her own fear stop her from at least giving it a real attempt. Shaking her head, Davy kept walking until the water was up to her hips, looking up she found Atlanna smiling. "This must be new for you, I'm sure your people are born knowing how to swim." Just stopping as the water came up to her chest, her eyes finding Atlanna's watching her, patience was the only thing that was reflecting in them.
Taking ahold of her hands, Atlanna pulled her into deeper water, "Our children are born in the water," smiling as she felt Davina kicking her legs, "but we still need to teach them how to survive in the water." Moving deeper into the water, she knew it was imperative that she build the strength needed to withstand the waves.
"Keep your legs moving, it will help stabilize you in the water." Keeping ahold of her arms, Atlanna smiled, "Soon though we will bring your arms into it, but let's just get used to our legs, yes?"
Keeping her head above the water, Davy kicked her legs in a circular pattern, trying to remember what her dad taught her, but the waves kept pushing her back. And if it wasn't for Atlanna holding onto her, she knew that she would have been inhaling a few gallons of water. Taking several deep breaths, Davy pushed through the fatigue absolutely determined to learn how to manage in the Atlantic.
Arthur watched from the top of the cliffs as his mom held onto her as she kicked in the water, smiling as he heard her say to let her go. Tilting his head, he watched as she moved slowly through the water but never straying too far from his mom.
"You know, you could go down there and help her."
Looking down at his pop, Arthur just shook his head, "Why would I want to do that?" he asked him.
Chuckling a bit, Tom just eyed his son who seemed to be doing everything in his power not to show interest in Davy. Perhaps to everyone else, he was doing a great job, but he knew his son better than anyone, and he knew that if he tried to talk to him about it, he would just avoid her.
Shrugging, "I mean you are the bridge between land and sea, and down there is a young woman that almost died saving an animal that belong to your world." Turning his eyes back to his wife, chuckling as she floated on her back as Davy swam forward with her.
Looking up at his son, smirking at the sight of his eyes sparkling with excitement as he watched her. "I'm just saying that must have been absolutely terrifying for her, but there she is in the water that almost killed her." Turning his attention back to the cove, he placed his hand on his shoulder, "If anything, you have an ability to show her the animals in a way that even your mother can't."
Chewing on his bottom lip, Arthur couldn't help but agree with what his pop was saying, pulling his eyes away from her as she started the swim back to shore, Arthur found his dad smiling at his wife. He wanted that, wanted someone that just made him as happy as his parents made each other.
Giving him a nod, he didn't even bother to climb down, just jumped 30ft and landed about 5ft from them, chuckling as he heard her yelp.
"Holy shit, what the hell?!" she yelled out.
Atlanna rolled her eyes, men, in one way or another they always just had to show off. "I'm sorry my dear, it seems as though my son is a savage." Giving him a pointed look.
Snorting, Arthur made his way over to the rocks that they were resting upon, removing his jacket, shoes and shirt in the process. "Let's get going Davina." Smirking at her wide eyes. "Not scared, are you?" he teased.
Davy watched as he stripped, if it wasn't for her natural heat her cheeks would have been bright red, swallowing some spit she swore he said he was taking her into the water. Blinking rapidly, she turned towards Atlanna almost frowning at the smile on her face. Realizing that her friend was OK with this, and he was being serious, Davy stood up and took a step back.
"Um, that depends, are you doing this to be nice or use it as a chance to drown me?" she asked, only half teasing.
Stepping forward, Arthur took ahold of her wrist, smiling down at her as her golden eyes started to shine brighter. "I guess there is only way to find out." Raising his eyebrow, "Nervous?" he asked, his voice dropping low.
Shivering a bit, Davy just sighed. "A little." Exhaling slowly, she turned to Atlanna, "If he kills me, I'm going to haunt you."
Placing a small kiss on her forehead, "You'll be fine." Knowing that Tom was waiting at the top of the cliffs, she gently patted her cheek, she turned towards her son, giving him a look that screamed don't you dare do anything to my friend. Smiling when he just nodded, feeling that Davina was in good hands, she made her way towards her husband, perhaps they could enjoy the remaining afternoon together.
Linking his hand with hers, Arthur pulled her into the water, pleased that she wasn't resisting, it at least told him that she trusted him enough not to hurt her. Stopping just at the edge of the water, he looked down at her, chuckling as he found her looking up at him. "Hold on, tight." Was all he said.
Before she could even ask what he meant, Davy found herself being flung onto his back, her arms wrapping around his neck and her legs around his back. Clinging onto him, she could feel him laughing, "I don't know how this is going to help me swim."
Tilting his head just slightly, Arthur couldn't help but see how close their lips were, for a second, he was so fucking tempted, but he quicky pushed that aside. "This isn't a swimming lesson." Turning towards the water, smiling when he heard the orcas coming in to rub themselves on the rocks.
Lifting her eyebrow, Davy followed his line of sight, gasping as she saw some black fins breaking the surface of the water. "Are you serious?" she yipped.
Walking deeper into the water, Arthur didn't even bother to move slowly into the water, chuckling as he felt her tightening her legs around his back. Walking until he was up to his neck in the water, he turned his head ever so slightly chuckling at how big her eyes were.
"You brought a friend?"
Chuckling a bit, Arthur reached out and gently placed his hand on her head. "She's the one that saved your son."
"Let me get a good look at her."
Taking ahold of her hand, Arthur carefully maneuvered her in front of him, her back against his chest, "She's the matriarch of this pod, you saved her son." He said to her. A part of him was worried that she would be scared, but to his surprise she reached out without hesitation.
Using one of her arms, Davy clung to Arthur's neck, her eyes on the giant animal in front of her. Taking a deep breath, Davy slowly let the other reach forward until it touched her head. "Wow, this is amazing." She murmured, mostly to herself.
Feeling a tear slide down her cheek, Davy couldn't help it, but when the whale rolled slowly onto her back, all she could do was chuckle. "Do they have names?" she him.
Keeping his arm tightly around her, Arthur found himself just staring at her, his eyes watching every little smile that graced her delicate face. Realizing that she was asking him a question, "Not the way we do." Adjusting her a little more, he reached out to the rest of the pod, lightly touching them as they swam close. "It's a human trait to name everything."
Tilting his head towards her, his eyes followed her every move, pleased to see that her nervousness seemed to have vanished.
"Is she your mate?" asked the matriarch.
Coughing a bit, Arthur just shook his head, "No."
That was confusing to her. "Does she already have a mate?"
Shrugging a bit, Arthur didn't know anything about her, but the thought of her being with anyone pissed him off. "I don't know." He said, not meaning for it to sound so rude.
Tilting her head, Davy found herself just staring at him, "What don't you know?" she asked him. But then, it hit her that he was talking to the whale.
Sighing, Arthur found her golden eyes staring into his, it shook him for a brief moment. That was almost enough to distract him from answering her, but he could see that she figured out he was speaking with one of the animals. "She wanted to know if you had a mate. And I didn't know."
Keeping his eyes on her, Arthur watched as her cheeks turned several shades of pink. Quirking his eyebrow, he hoped that she didn't, not that it really mattered to him, or so he kept trying to tell himself.
Blushing a bit, Davy turned her eyes towards the whales that were now gently swimming around them, but she focused on the matriarch. "No, I do not have a mate." Feeling Arthurs arm tightening around her waist, she quickly turned back towards him, a little unsure of the expression on his face.
Something inside of him felt relieved, but he quickly squashed that feeling. Clearing his throat, "No one back home?" he asked, only half teasing.
Images of William flashed in her mind, none of them pleasant, shaking her head clear, Davy gave him a sad smile. "No." Clearing her throat, she turned back towards the whales, letting her free hand rub against their slick skin, but unfortunately instead of enjoying the moment her mind just kept going back to him.
It really pissed her off that even after all this time, just the thought of Will was able to affect her mood.
Arthur watched as the smile on her face faded, pulling her a little tighter to his chest, "Whoever he is, wasn't worth it." Repeating the same thing that his parents have said to him about Mera.
"I'd rather not talk about it." Her eyes turning back towards his, she could see the questions swimming in them, but she was not going to have this conversation with anyone other than Atlanna, maybe.
Glancing down at her fingers, she could see them starting to prune, "Would you be so kind and bring me back to shore?"
Clenching his teeth, Arthur held back a growl but now was not the time to start an argument. Looking over at the matriarch, "It's time for us to head in. I'll be back soon."
"We look forward to it. Please bring her again." With a loud squeal, she instructed her pod to head back out, it was time to hunt.
Wrapping a towel around her body, Davy headed towards the living room desperate to sit by a warm fire. Plopping herself down, she looked down at her hand smiling when the blue flame engulfed her whole hand, turning it over a few times, she aimed and watched a small ball of flame shoot out to the logs.
Soon the sound of crackling wood echoed in the room, leaning back against the couch, Davy let her mind go back to the wonderful day she had. Letting out a yawn, Davy knew that for the next couple of weeks she and Atlanna were going to make use of the mild seas, because sooner rather than later it would be too rough, and people would question her too much.
However, her last thought before she let herself drift to sleep, was the last words that her ex screamed at her before he ripped out her heart.
"Arthur, what has you thinking so hard?" Atlanna asked him.
Leaning in the chair on the porch, Arthur looked over his shoulder finding his mom staring down at him. Sipping his beer, he could only shrug. "There was more to her then I expected."
Chuckling a bit, Atlanna could only nod in agreement. "There are many things about her that will surprise you." Hearing Tom call for her to head to their home, she leaned over kissing his cheek, "When you are up to it, you should take the time to know her."
Watching his mom head across the street to their home, Arthur just leaned back against the rocker. Downing his beer, he could only smirk, there was nothing that was going to prevent him from getting to know her. To what end, he had no fucking clue, but she was a mystery, and he was hooked.
Turning his attention towards the moon, Arthur let his mind relax, the only thing that seemed to be at the forefront of his mind was her. He didn't want to be interested, but it seemed like that was out of his control, and it was something he was going to have to get used to.
