Chapter two: Lattes for two
Ambush was a strong word but really the only one to describe what had happened the moment Alice had returned home from school with Esme and Carlisle already waiting for her in the living room with serious looks plastered across their flawless vampire faces with a mixture of apprehension and worry she hadn't seen from them both in a really long time.
"Which one of them called you then? it was Edward, my moneys on Eddy" Alice didn't need a verbal admission as they both gave each other that knowing look and that all but made it clear Edward had been her Judas in this matter and it wasn't exactly like she could blame any of them for ratting her out and since she was the fastest home she would hopefully get ahead of this before it is blown all out of proportion.
"See I told you she would see this whole conversation before we even had it... Carlisle, we should realistically just ask her how it ends and move forward with that the best we can" Esme knew Alice too well by this point so when she saw her crooked grin appear on her face before she spoke she realised Alice hadn't seen a damn thing and had no earthly idea how this conversation would end.
"Should I lie and say you let me, your perfect daughter off the hook with a fair but stern warning?" Her cheek was duly noted and both Carisle and Esme rolled their eyes unnaturally fast for humans andyet being Vampires usually sped some things along you would never expect, sighs and eye rolls and the like usually happened somewhere between human and vampire speed.
"We are worried for good reason Alice, Edward has reason to believe you are hunting the Police chiefs daughter... we can not risk" Carisle started hut Alice cut him off as she rushed over to him and placed a loving hand on both his and Esme's shoulder.
"I wasn't hunting... in fact I didn't pay much attention to her blood at all, she was just... interesting, very very interesting" Alice removed her hands after gazing into the middle distance ajd then wrenching herself back to reality. her hand dived into her school bag and she took out her sketchbook and showed both her coven leaders and adoptive parents the picture she had sketched of the girl in question.
"She is quite a beauty for sure Alice but, since when have you showed interest in anyone before... Human or vampire. This is highly unlike you..." Carisle wore a look of concern that bordered on genuine as if he was wrestling with the idea that maybe Alice was allowing the lure of the hunt to overtake her.
"When the others return you can ask them whether my eyes went dark since they watched me like hawks the entire day... anyway i have invited her over on saturday so you will have to get the hang of the idea i have a human friend" Alice was so quick to blurt out her plan it threw both Vampires for a loop and they had no breath in their stone lungs for a response.
"This is very unlike you Alice, you have never been social... you barely spend time with us unless we are hunting or it happens to be a holiday" Esme was the first to speak after a short pause but Alice was steadfast and held her ground, it was as if she was infused with an invincible will for the first time in her life.
Alice sighed a breathless sigh.
"Would you just humor me, I'm not going to kill the police chiefs daughter and we all know it... in fact i'm going to teach her to draw and spend time with her, think of it as me... coming out of my shell" Alice was slowly pacing but not in a panic driven way, she had perfect posture and was calm, Carisle couldn't believe how calm she was.
"This is dangerous Alice, even if you have the second best control in the house... it's flirting with fate and you know it" Carisle didn't even flinch when Rosalie and Emmet bounded through the door and continued the conversation they had heard with their amazing vampire hearing from down the road.
"Is that her nickname now Alice 'Fate'... you've barely known her a day and you've already picked a cute little name out for that cute little Singer of yours" Rosalie spat her words out with an indignance that really did show her flawless beauties uglier side.
Esme's eyes went wide as she realised the girl was a singee of all things "So you are on the hunt? when were you going to mention the girls blood sings to you?" she walked straight up to Alice and looked deeply into her eyes but they had remained a brilliant golden hue and she couldn't understand how Alice was being so calm during this time of panic for their coven.
"Ask them... ask them if my eyes changed to black even once. Cause they really didn't and Rosalie stop being jealous just because I've made a new friend, I told her all about your love of cars you know" Alice grinned giddily as she detached herself from Esme and glided over to her blonde sister who was shaking with rage at this point.
"I heard the whole conversation... from your flirting at lunch all the way to the end of our shared art class. Right up until you barely tore yourself away from her in the parking lot" Rosalie was scowling and Alice had to admit she did like it when her sister actually showed some emotion every now and then. this was the most passionate she had seen her in years, the last time was when she had mated to Emmet and those were a wild few years in hindsight.
"She did spend along time telling Bella how handy you are with cars... I don't really think Alice was hunting. I've seen hunting and she wasn't even close" Emmet grinned as Alice realised what he was doing, her adoptive big brother was protecting her and she had to admit it really did feel nice.
Carisle piped up from his rigid statuesque pose in the center of the living room and Asked Emmet directly "And what would you describe Alice's actions as being Emmet? her actions, her eyes... how did she handle Bella?" Carisle was nervous and he was usually so stoic that it seemed to make everyone else around him nervous except for Emmet who understood his grounds for concern just as well as anybody else.
Emmet smirked with a playful grin creeping upon his lips "She was flirting, wildly... poor Bella was blushing most of the day from what i've seen and heard... But Alices eyes didn't change once. When Jasper returns he will confirm her emotions and not once did he register hunger... well not for blood anyway".
If Alice was still human she would have been just a red as Bella had been whenever she had got a little bit too close or flirted along the edge of what any normal person would conaider acceptable. Alices hands rose to cover her face and the Cullens had no idea how to react to the news of their coven member not only being overtly flirty which was totally out of character for her but also having a very hard time denying it.
"I was not flirting! I was... I was just being friendly, Bella is a very interesting person and... and" Alice was basically blabbering at this point and that was another thing none of them had ever seen before. Alice Cullen never stumbled over her words and she was never caught with her hands so deep in the cookie jar before.
Esme placed ahand on Alices wriet and the poor girl almost jumped out of her marble skin "Woah, since when do you jump in suprise?" Esme asked with a complete gormless look of incomprehensible shock. no onehad ever suprised Alice before in this house and it wasn't like they hadn't tried at times.
Emmet chuckled a burly laugh before answering for Alice "Ever since she saw Bella this morning in the parking lot i bet... the poor humans couldn't believe how attached at the hip they were... Jessica and Mikes head would have exploded in the middle of the cafeteria if Alice had stayed at their table" his voice was masculine but with just a tinge of childish cheekiness that Alice felt as if her big brother was bullying her and she didn't like it.
"Edwards gonna be pissed at me when he gets home, I did kinda relight the whole Jessica obsession again" Alice cringed before she heard Edward shoot through the front door and give her a very annoyed, almost dangerous look.
"Yeah, i could have done without that dear sister... Jaspers also annoyed but he'll be fine when he has finished up the hunt" Edward walked directly over to Carisle and whispered in ear which was completely unnecessary and she and everyone else who wasn't their father knew it was a show of his dominance as he was obviously Carlisles favourite and if that annoyed Esme at all she never seemed to show it.
"You can't read her mind... that is a strange development, can Alice see her future... can Jasper read and affect her emotions?" Carisle asked the room more than Edwards and yet he was the first to respond anyway and he even responded for Alice after reading her internal reaction before she could even voice her words to them all and she winced in annoyance as he spoke.
"She can but Jasper has a little trouble unless he focuses deep, me on the other hand, nothing and i don't like it" Edward went over to the sofa and threw himself down more gracefully then any man ever could and decided to observe from a distance unless he needed to but in for any reason.
Alice spoke with a soft tone to her musical voice "Apart from captain privacy here invading my thoughts yet again, is there anyone else who wants to voice their opinion on how crazy i am or does the golden child here get the last say in family matters like always" Alice pointed with her middle finger raised to flip Edward the bird but she never took her eyes off Carisles and he seemed shocked Alice was being so openly hostile towards Edward for once.
"Edward does not always get the final say in family matters..." Carisles voice trailed off as the look from his coven spoke a different reality than he was willing to previously accept and even as he turned to Esme she seemed to also agree with Alices words although he knew she wouldn't voice them until they were alone and only if he impressed upon her at that.
"Look at you standing up for yourself for once... this humans really doing a number on you eh! shame Eddy can't read her mind. I'm kinda curious to know what she thinks about you" Rosalie leaned against Emmets big strong arms and found a great deal of comfort in the closeness.
"It's not like that! i've made a friend... why is this so hard to believe" Alice suddenly shot a meancing look over to Edward and gave him such a look that his words caught in his throat, he seemed to almost shrink into the couch and the moment didn't escape any of their notices.
Japser flew through the door as the last member of their coven finally returned home after having taken his fill of the local wildlife and he hadn't even bothered to clean himself up juet in case he missed his part to play in this dire familial discussion.
"Ahh Jasper finally tell us of Alices emotions today and if she was in hunting mode or not" Emmet had bee the first to speak as he was obviously on Aices side and refused to let Edward lead the conversation down a road that was more beneficial for him as he usally tried to do.
Jasper calmly responded as he push his calm feelings on to all of them "She wss not hunting... just flirtin with the little lady" his southern drawl came out and he could feel hismate Edward bite his lip i nresponse. Edward had a thing for his accent and sometimes he stopped using it to make his fetish grow fonder with its absence.
Alice felt her emotions reach a cresendo of unpleasentness and she stamped her foot in defiance and yelled "I was not flirting with Bella! why is everyone in this fucking house so constantly obsessed with sex!" her sudden use of the first swear word she had ever uttered in front of them completely shot down any defence she could ever erect as the family went deathly silent as they all came to terms with Alices sudden outburst and use of an actual honest to god swear word.
She took the lull in the conversation as a chance to lay down the law, her own demands as it were.
"Bella is going to be my friend and this saturday everyone will be well fed and on their best behavior or i swear to god i will make everyones lives completly unbearable if you ruin this for me!" Alice stormed off upstairs not caring what they thought anymore and slammed her door so hard the vampires couldn't help but hear the wood crack suddenly under her vampire hands as she tried to lessen the blow uneffectively and yet the silence remained unbroken for an eerily long time.
The vampires all looked at one another in utter bafflement, none of them had ever seen Alice react in such a passionate way before as she was always so soft spoken and well worded. It was almost impossible to think of her as once being a human women at times with the amount of self control she usually posessed and now she was showing her emotional range for the first time and no one really knew how to handle it.
Jasper was the first to speak up "That was something... new" his rapid blinking was obviously his way of trying to come to terms with what had just happened in their living room and for the life of him he had no idea how to react which was strange for a southern gentleman of his pedigree and upbringing.
Rosalie broke the silence with an unexpectedly somber tone "Is... is Alice ok?" Rosalie's eyes darted from Carlisle to Esme and the latter nodded in affirmation before turning to the stairs and walking directly to Alices room barely making any noise at all, Alice's room was sound proof so after Esme was allowed inside the vampires had no hope of hearing what they were both talking about and didn't even bother to try.
"It seems she is adamant when it comes to the new girl eh! I had no idea Alice swung for the other team and I'm usually so good at this... i realised Edward and Jasper were at it months before anyone else had" Emmet chuckled as Edward snuggled into Jaspers side as they both relaxed on the sofa and Edward tried to read the minds of both Esme and Alice but he would have to get closer if he wanted to hear them any better than he did right now which was not very good at all.
"Alice isn't... well who cares if she is, the problem isn't what she likes between her legs. The problem is the human she's flirting with is the police chiefs daughter and also a damn singer! This is alot more dangerous than she likes to admit, even if she has the bloodlust under control" Rosalie was pacing herself now and Emmet knew to let her get the energy out before she snapped at any one of them since her nerves were usually on a knifes edge at the best of times.
Jasper spoke up from the sofa as he turned the television on but muted the sound on purpose. "Looks like we're going to need to stock up on Animal blood if we want this to even have a chance of working! we can't hunt every damn day or we'll never let the local wildlife repopulate" He gave Carisle a look and he knew Jasper was right and it was something they could easily remedy with a few phone calls and some clandestine deliveries.
"Edward and I will stock the cellar with more pigs blood then anyones ever seen before, hunt once a week and everyone will be learning self control from now on, every other day!" Carlisle was willing to make this work as long as Esme came back down and gave him the go ahead to do so, he had no idea what he would do if she came down and told him they shouldn't allow Alice anywhere near this Bella but he would trust her judgement on the matter no matter what it is.
"Hmmm...guess we need to go shopping for cups, blood mugs... i want one shaped like a bear! maybe a fox" Emmet joked but also genuinely mused to himself and Rosalie couldn't help but giggle as her big strong bear of a man himself always spoke his mind clearly no matter how childish he was.
"You like this Bella don't you, you've defended Alice the entire day and that's not like you at all" Rosalie picked up her phone and started looking online for cute cups her husband might enjoy for the sheer novelty of it all and she herself would also have some fun with this if she could.
"She is shy and awkward but I have a great feeling about her, I don't think she would care if she knew what we were... she would make a fine vampire if it ever came down to it" Emmet spoke his mind but everyone gave him a varying mix of looks and most of them seemed to think he was mad in some way or maybe even a little retarded.
The only one who really seemed to take him seriously was Rosalie herself and yet even she took what her man had so freely said with a grain of very fine salt.
"We are not turning the girl Emmet, Charlie is a good man and his daughters sudden disappearence would raise so many alarm bells and what if she suddenly returns to him after we fake her death... it is all way too difficult to handle such a complex matter as if we were human children and not the disgusting immortals we truly are" Edward piped up from his lovers embrace but didn't look up towarda anyone and kept his eyes firmly on the television.
Emmet scoffed and shook his head before laughing at Edwards constant hatred of himself "I am not saying we should go and bite her right now, it is an option we shouldn't dismiss so easily if it comes down to it... i am considering our options and if Alice continues down this path then such an option may become reality sooner rather than later" Emmet heard Edward click his tongue after his response but he also didn't speak up again and kept his focus solely on Jasper for the rest of the evening.
"I am aware you think of my more childish ways as not the playful affectations they are but more a lack of maturity but I have a very good feeling about this and I for one think it is about time we let Alice spread her wings... she has always been too damn quiet and introspective... we will keep her safe and do what is right" Emmet walked over to the front door and left to go work in the garage as he had made his point firmly and even his own wife was shocked at how her husband was acting and she had to admit she did like how he had finally used some big words for once and correctly also.
"Hmmm... no one come to the garage for a few hours" Rosalie said with lust in her eyes and Jasper made Edward laugh as he said 'I'll go grabs the ear plugs again' and actually went to go grab some which forced Carlisle to palm his whole hand into his face and grownnin an awkward fashion.
He would have to wait for Esme to return to see how to proceed and right now he really didn't have a good grasp on what he should do.

Alice had paced around her room so frantically as she tried to gain some control of her unusual anger and nothing she was doing to try and calm herself down was working until she walked over to one of her many book shelves and began to prepare the books she wanted to give Bella when they spent time together at school tommorow. She had a few very informative books and also included 'Drawing on the right side of the brain' as she had found it unbelievably helpful when trying to improve her craft and formulate healthy habits in drawing.
She even began to wrangle together some art supplies and was annoyed as she heard a light knock on her door but she threw her books and supplies down on her perfectly made bed and glided silently towards her cracked door and wasn't suprised to see Esme standing behind the splintered wood with a look of deep concern plastered across her flawless features.
"May I come in my dear, I think we need to talk about this like adults" Esme didn't wait for a response as Alice stepped to the side and let her inside without a single word in response and she remained stoic as Esme tried to find the words to best suit the situation.
"I never knew you even used those kind of words, Emmet and Jasper are a terrible influence on you aren't they" Esme seemed serious at first but broke the tension between them as a motherly smile perked up the side of her lips and Alice couldn't help but chuckle along with her.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to explode, it's just that I don't need everyone acting like i'm some bloodthirsty new born on the prowl" Alice frowned in annoyance and it was a strange face to wear in front of her adoptive mother who had never seen Alice act in this way the entire time she had known her. This was normal for her other children but Alice had always been so bubbly and full of life when she wasn't engrossed in her art, fashion, books or favourite movies.
"We are just worried about you Alice, we have never seen you like this before. It is new territory and it is not as if we are being unfair or cruel to you, are we?" Esme had asked her that question whilst looking over towards the bed and noticing the books and art supplies she was obviously preparing for this Bella and for a moment she wanted to believe this was actually a push for a new friendship but even she knew the pull of a singer was something to never be ignored.
"You have never been so, But i'm not going to bite Bella... she's interesting is all and i really didn't notice her blood all that much, not like everyone else did anyway" Alice picked out a nice leather satchel she would fill with sketchbooks and supplies for Bella and she chose a leather that would really compliment her powerful brown eyes.
Her visions had come and gone in an instant and she knew the perfect Satchel to hand to her now, one that would make her pretty eyes grow wide with thankfulness and a little shine of something more Alice couldn't quite place at this point in time. She would have to spend alot more time withnher if she was going to read every little micro expression then she just had to spemd every possible moment she could with the girl and that sounded quite wonderful.
"Why her? you've never shown any real interest in humans before, sometimes even we bother you enough you don't speak for weeks but you have always remained cordial and polite" Esme brought over the supplies and books Alice had thrown onto her bed and placed them on her art desk next to her sowing machine as she waited for Alices response.
"I don't know, she is just... interesting to me. She makes me laugh I guess, i mean it's only been one day but" Alice stopped looking through sketchbooks for a moment and tried to find the right words to explain herself in a way her mother could understand what she could barely fathom herself.
"Can you just put some Faith in me and give me some time to see if this kind of friendship is even possible... no teasing, no constant worrying and maybe everything will actually work out wonderfully for once" Alice continued picking out some very nice and pretty sketchbooks of varying sizes and began to put her little present together and Esme couldn't help but smile along with Alice as she seemed to get lost in her own little world and hum a pleasent tune she had never heard before.
Esme watched her daughter glide around her room so effortlessly and filled with such happy feelings she had almost forgot the direness of the whole situation if it wasn't for the reality popping back up a few moments later in the back of her head as Alice picked up an exacto knife for pencil sharpening and Esmes Brain just naturally went to the worst possible place as she imagined her perfect little doll of a daughtee slicing the poor unsuspecting humans throat and drinking deep.
"I can't make those promises Ali but i guess we can try and understand if this is really so important to you" Esme had buckled so quickly she was suprised how hastily her adoptive daughter had rushed into her arms and kissed her all over like a happy little child and not a fully grown vampire who had over a hundred years under her belt, even after she stopped kissing her like a happy little puppy Alice just couldn't stop hugging her.
"You're the best mother i've ever had! well you're the only one i remember but that doesn't mean you're not the greatest!" Alice felt so much relief after Esme told her they would try and understand what she was trying to do that she couldn't let her go until Alice her Esmes marble vampire spine crack just a little and she instantly dropped her and was happy to see Esme laughing at Alices scared features.
"You didn't break me dummy, in fact that felt pretty good. who knew you were such a talented chiropractor, Bellas a lucky girl it seems" Esme dodged a high speed Eraser as Alice chased her around the room after she had began to tease her over Bella so effortlessly the pixie like vampire hadn't seen it coming from her mother in a million years.
"It's not like that mum! stop teasing me or i'll... I'll refuse to make your costume for halloween this year! poor Father will be crying about his bad luck right into the new year" Alice was bluffing as she would never not make any of her family costumes but Esme did believe her for a split second until Alice cracked and apologised after she realised that was probably the cruelest thing she could have said to Esme who absoloutely adored celebrating the holiday with her patchwork family.
"Ok i lied but stop teasing me... I'm weak and cute and shouldn't be handled in such a way you know" Alice out on her best helpless little lamb look but Esme was having none of it and she scruffed up her flawless her much to the younger vampires annoyance gut both were silent as Alice felt her phone vibrate with a text message in her pocket and Esme gave her a concerned look as she fetched the thing to see who was texting her.
As she unlocked the touch screen Alice was happy to see it was Bella and the message read "Hey it's Bella, i just wanted to thank you for helping me so much today and my dad said he really liked the Apple we sketched together today in art class and well... you don't have to if you don't want to but he would like to meet you. He says he has alot of respect for your father carlisle and he would like to meet you but also there's no pressure since Charlie understands you're probably busy" Alice had read the first part of the text out loud and Esme had listened intently.
"She's a very polite young lady isn't she, It seems our local police chief is a rather well rounded man afterall. I thought Carlisle was just being polite when he praised Charlie so often when their jobs collided" Esme found herself also trusting Alice a little bit more as she continued to read the text out loud and her daughters stunning smile couldn't contain itself anymore.
"I really enjoyed my first day and that's all thanks to you... I hope i wasn't too much of a pain or an annoyance to you. I'm also sorry if i kept you after class for too long, I should probably apologise to your sister also since she obviously wanted to go home and spend time with everyone and I kept you all from that. I hope you can forgive me. Well i'm gonna go work on my car and try and diagnose some of the damage, i hope you have a wonderful evening" Alice would have blushed if she still could, yet her hand was close to her breast as she could swear she felt her heart rise into her throat even though that was obviously impossible for anyone, let alone a vampire.
Esme watched Alice with not just concern but also suprise, her daughter was ecstatic and also nervous. Alice was rarely nervous as afterall she could see the future and yet here she was her immortal daughter acting like a lovestruck teenager with a deep and moving crush.
Esme had to shake her head and blink a few times just to convince herself she was actually seeing what she was seeing. "Is the young ladies car in order?" was the only thing Esme could seem to let her mouth form the words for and it knocked Alice right out her internal dialouge and then she herself had problems speaking as her mind went into overdrive trying to form so many thoughts and soloutions to her current problem that she just landed on telling the absoloute truth.
"It's nothing bad, her father brought her some old rust bucket from the reservation and she's trying to renovate the old truck. She's pretty intelligent for a human mum, she's also a really fast learner too" Alice seemed to be almost defending Bella as if it was important to understand how much better this human was than the others they had met and known.
Alices enthusiasm for this girl wasn't falling on deaf ears either and the more they spoke, the more Esme felt like she should just let it run its natural course.
"She doesn't seem to think much of herself but that's fine, I can boost her ego. Bellas funny too and very cute, I know you'll like her alot" Alice finished packing her present for Bella and then stared at her phone for a moment as she thought to herself how she should respond and that's when Esme noticed the slight shake in Alices hand and that's when her eyes darted to Alices and she realised her daughters were still a piercing gold and she was just filled with nerves and obviously didn't know the best way to respond.
"Calm yourself Alice, breath deep and tell her you would love to meet her father but first of all, tell her you also enjoyed your first day back at school with her" Esme had decided to go all in on the mothering and Alice almost squealed in excitement as she realised Esme was trying to help her overcome her nerves and it was working.
"What if i'm being too forward, i don't want to scare her away or anything and Rosalie is always telling me i'm overbearing... what if she's right?" Alice could barely hide her panic and that's when Esme took her daughters hand in her own and soothed her the best she could before setting the record straight.
"Rosalie was messing with you and you know that, also this Bella seems to really like you alot so just steel your nerves and take a deep breath before you respond ok" Esme slid around her daughter and massaged her shouldee as she sat down on her very well padded art stool and spent some time constructing her reply text and even let Esme proof read it before she hit send.
"I'm happy to hear i made your first day alot better and i would love to meet your father, Carlisle always tells us Charlie is a very respectable man so why wouldn't I want to meet him. plus you weren't annoying in the slightest and i have no idea why you would think so, you are very interesting and you shouldn't put yourself down so much. I really enjoyed our classes together. I'm going to convince you to let Rosalie help you with that truck and there's nothing you can do to stop me either. Also my dad still isn't home so you didn't keep me at all. I'll see you bright and early at school tommorow, sleep well" Esme thought such an informal message was more than suitable but Alice continued panicking until Esme just pressed send and didn't even tell her until she got a short reply.
"Sleep well Alice x" Alice knew a single x meant a kiss, she had learnt how to text from Emmet and Rosalie and couldn't believe she was over the moon from such a simple reply and she stared at the messenger screen for longer than she ever had before and seemed to be buzzing with excitement and Esme was struck with memories of how Rosalie felt when she had met Emmet and everything really did click into place for the mother of this vampire coven.
"See, was it that hard to just tell her what you think little darling" Esme kept her thoughts on Alices true feeling since she obviously hadn't realised herself yet but she wohld have to make sure Carlisle was fully aware and thankfully her husband wouldn't tell anyone, especially Edward who would probably react the worst out of all of her children. He really did have a chip on his shouldee about the whole 'evil soulless vampire rubbish' and sometimes even though she never admitted to it, Edward did get on her nerves quite a bit.
"Don't tell anyone, I don't want everyone up in my buisness 24/7 and this is important to me ok" Alice shot up and ran out of her room and straight downstair but couldn#t find Rosalie anywhere and Esme could barely keep up with her graceful daughters fae like movements and gave up as Carlisle screamed to Alice not to go inside the garage.
Seconds later Alice used her full speed to rush bac into the house and voice her disgust at what she had just seen, "Why did nobody warn me they were... doing that in our garage! that should be illegal or something! don't we have any rules of decency in this house!" Alice dramatically cried as she heard the garage door close in the distance and both vampires get straight back down to it.
Carlisle tuened to Esme and couldn't help but chuckle at the scene that had just unraveled in front of him "We need to start putting socks on doors and sound proofing the entire house at this point... Bella was so quick to seal the deal she quickly vocalised how she had no idea what Alice would even enjoy watching but the petite pale statue of a women quickly offered her own selection of Audrey Hepburn movies and that was when Bella had revealed she had never actually seen Breakfast at Tiffanys.
"Right we're watching breakfast at Tiffanys, how have you never seen one of the best films ever made! then Roman Holiday of course" Alice was now hyperactive and Bella was just watching her vibrate with happiness as she was Explaining to her adorable little human friend why Audrey Hepburn was the single greatest actress or actor of all time.
Alice had talked Bellas ear of for 10 whole minutes until she realised they should probably on to achool before she subjected Bella Swan to another 10 minutes of Silver screen greats and although she looked interested in what Alice had to say the taller vampire girl knew she had to stop herself soon or they would never get out of this car park until night fall.
"I had no idea you were such a Audrey Hepburn fan. I'll have to grab some snacks and we'll make an evening of it, but first school" Bella wanted to move but she couldn't for the simple fact Alice had moved in closer and she could barely breath as the pixies cherry scent invaded her sense and she was thankful for the first time this morning they would be having gym class for two periods.
"I'll see you in gym class then, I've got a mean spike so you better watch out for that if we end up on different volleyball teams" Alice grinned happily and rolled her tongue along the front of her perfectly white teeth and Bella felt herself shudder in jealousy that her juicy pink tongue was in her mouth right now and exploring with reckless abandon.
"Bet i could take you without even breaking a sweat, Can't have you getting too cocky Alice. How would i ever be able to face you at lunch if i let you thrash me so easily?" Bella had no idea where her own ego was coming from right now as she had zero volleyball experience and her clumsyness was almost legendary to anyone who had ever met her. But she couldn't let Alice see her as weak and fragile, she wanted to show her she wasn't some kind of doll who needed to be dressed up and kept out of harms way, she was a woman, a passionate women.
"Oh Bella, do you think I can't make you sweat... long and hard? i like this competitiveness in you... it's endearing" Alice brushed a few stray hairs back behind Bellas ear and she blushed wildly but still tried to maintain eye contact.
"We better hurry to School or we'll be late and i shouldn't be late on only my second day" Bella made her way to her truck and Alice followed suit as she stepped into her Porsche and before she pulled out she blew Bella a playful kiss and then shortly after she was gone on her way to school at an ungodly speed. Bella chuckled as she realised Alice had no respect for the local speed limit or traffic laws and she definetly had a unrequieted crush on the prettiest girl in school.
Bella let her fingers run across the fine leather of the satchel Alice had gifted her just moments ago and she felt her heart swell in an influx of pleasent emotions she was only just begining to understand.
After a minute of thinking to herself and then slapping her own silly thoughts back down to the back of her mind where she believed they belonged, she put her key into the ignition port and eventually got the old beast working so she could exit the parking lot and drive at a reasonable speed towards Forks high school and hopefully steal a glimpse of Alice Cullen changing into her Sports uniform.
