RWBY: Chosen King and Queen

Chapter: 11 Preparations

With the completion of the mission and with the village being over-ran, all of the civilians were able to be evacuated and were also inducted into the kingdom of Arlyn, after a one stop at Vale. However; they were not the only ones to go to Arlyn as Drayce Regulus, The Crown Prince, was also headed there to see his father. This did not sit well with many people but it was something to be done. Before he left he warned Ruby to wait to tell Ozpin about her inheritance until he came back as he wanted to play this by the ear. While Ruby didn't necessarily agree, she knew she would have to be very careful with multiple things leading up to the next couple of months. Team JNPR has also helped out with as much as they could as they reported to Drayce regularly about Ruby and how she was, per his request, a request that Jaune had every intention of abiding by.

As for Team RWBY themselves they all became very accustomed to Ruby and her new status and while Yang feared that Ruby would become slightly arrogant with the new title, Ruby proved that she had nothing to fear because it was as if Ruby was the same exact person as before. With that said they all however; noticed that Ruby's development has started to skyrocket. Not just in combat ability but in tactics as well. It was as if a piece of her was missing and now she had gotten it back. Weiss was the most pleased with this development as Ruby took her classes more seriously but still had that playful side that Weiss came to enjoy. With seeing her development the rest of her team also upped the training and not only that but their academics as well.

Meanwhile at Arlyn, Drayce was searching the archives of his family library with his father, "Have you found anything dad?"

Fenrir looked at a part of a book shelf, "Unfortunately no-"

"Sire!" One of the RoyalGlaives the council requests your presence. To talk about arrangements for the Vytal Festival."

Fenrir sighed, "Very well," He then looked to his son, "No matter what I am doing, report to me immediately when you find something."

Drayce nodded to his father and continued with his research. Drayce looked around more looking for any type of information that he could find but found nothing. "Dammit what am I missing." Drayce thought for a moment until he thought of something, 'If to open the door in the village is blood maybe….' Drayce then began to channel his aura and expand it across the room, and when he opened his eyes he had found his answer. I single book a lit with blue on the right side of the library, which Drayce went to pick it up. He saw the book was blank and applied the same method that had him find the book to see what would happen. And thus. The book came alive and answers were received.

"With that being said I believe all of the preparations were all ready to be put under way?" All of Fenrir's councilmen nodded, "Wonderful now let's talk about-" Fenrir was interrupted as his son, Drayce, came barging in.

"Father, I have found it and we have something to discuss immediately. It is urgent."

Fenrir looked at his son's expression and knew this could not wait, "Very well leave us, we will discuss the formalities of the festival at a later date." They all nodded and left. Drayce then began to take out his scroll to call someone, "May I ask who you are calling?"

"Connor and Anguis. This involves the safety of Arlyn and it is something that we must prepare for."

Fenrir took anything that endangered the safety of his country and its people very seriously so for his son to call his most trusted guards was something serious.

After the call they waited until the door opened to find a man with black hair in the black and white glaive attire. He had a black shirt with a black coat that resembled that of a suit jacket, however was more flexible, being made for combat with white edges and white buttons with a gold symbol of a dragon. He also had black combat pants with a white streak going down the right leg with a gold streak in the middle of the white streak. Lastly he had a black slitted eyes and some patches of scales under his eyes which were amber. This was Anguis and Drayce's personal training buddy and one of his best friends along with Zyaire, Argus, and Rainier.

The other was a man of age more closer to Drayce's father, with almost the same exact attire to Anguis but with some notable detail difference. He had the same black shirt with a black coat that resembled that of a suit jacket but instead of white edges his was gold with gold buttons and instead of a symbol of a dragon there was a gold symbol of a wolf. The man had red hair and was of fair skin complexion with hazel eyes. This man was Connor, the commander of all RoyalGlaives

"So what is this meeting about, you said it was important Drayce," Anguis said casually.

"What did I tell about how you address the Prince, Anguis," scolded.

Drayce raised his hand, "It is fine. I have asked him to address me as just Drayce, so please do not reprimand him for it." Anguis sighed in relief, while Connor nodded to this and let the Prince continue. "The reason as to why I called you all is to talk about the Kingdom of Linux, and specifically Ruby Rose."

Anguis brightened with a smirk, "Ah did you finally propose to her?"

Drayce blushed for a second, but immediately put it off, "As much as I wish that this was just the case," Drayce started which put everyone on edge as the Prince never openly said admitted to his feeling for the silver eyed girl, "But this is serious so please take this as such."

Connor narrowed his eyes and Anguis straightened up, "And how serious is this?"

Drayce sat at one of the chairs in the council room, "Ruby is by blood the queen of Linux."

To say that the room was silent was an understatement, as if a single bolt were to drop a centimeter from the ground it would still be heard. "What did you say?" Fenrir asked not believing it.

Drayce looked his father dead in his eye with the most amount of sureness he has had in his life, "Ruby Rose is the true Princesses and Queen of Linux and is of the true royal family that fought in the Great War."

"Wait, wait, wait," Anguis said waving his arms in the air, "This is an insane statement to make so you have to have some evidence of this right?"

Drayce then threw a book onto the table, as his father grabbed it to read it, Drayce began to explain it to them as well, "That last mission, the mission to Arvan, changed everything and changed my perspective on doing certain things." Drayce sighed, "I told them. RWBY and JNPR about the maidens and the silver eyed warriors. Not only that, Ruby already knows of her status and so do those who were on that mission as well."

Fenrir thought about this, "Do you believe this was wise?" Connor asked.

Drayce nodded to this, "Yes especially after finding out from Ruby herself that she knows the family that exiled her family and killed her Great Great Grandfather are still in power in Linux, whether that be the royal family now or someone in their council, I do not know nor will I be taking a chance on it being detrimental to my kingdom or my allies."

"That was a logical conclusion and in my opinion the right one," Fenrir said, "But now we need to know how to proceed. With the Vytal festival on the way I feel as though we need to bolster our defenses."

Everyone was thinking of a way to do this until Anguis had an Idea, "What if we had the White Fang on our side?" This brought everyone to his attention, "Think about it, the White Fang has no qualms with us, and are actually quite happy with us also taking in more faunus and showing them true equality. From what I know Sienna Khan is the leader of the White Fang as of now and the only faction of the White Fang that is not fully under her command is the Vale branch which is more closely led by Adam Taurus. I am pretty sure she doesn't know of the deal in Vale so what if we negotiate with her."

Drayce and Fenrir thought about this idea, and looked at each other with a nod, "That is a great idea, with the hidden support of the White Fang we can make sure that we can have an effective defense when the time comes," Fenrir looked to his son, "I give you this task, Convince Sienna to join us and if you have to do anything drastic you have my authority to represent Arlyn."

Drayce nodded, "I will leave right away; however is it possible to bring Anguis with me, I feel like with him this will go more smoothly."

Fenrir looked to Connor for input to which the commander nodded, "Yes of course, I can have Eileen take care of his duties, she is more than capable of doing his work," He then whispered, "Even when it came to paper work."

Anguis sweat dropped at this and gave a nervous chuckle, "Well tell her I said thank you,"

Drayce looked up to his father, "One last thing," Drayce then summoned all of his weapons one by one placing them on the table for all to see, "My weapons have all been cracked and are to the point that they can no longer be able to be used. I thought that these weapons, since infused with my aura, couldn't break as long as my aura remained."

Fenrir looked at his son's weapons then back to Drayce, "Can you summon your aura, I need to check something out. Also make sure you channel as much as you can." Drayce stunned slightly but complied as Drayce drew out his aura and it was through the roof and was really dense to where Connor and Anguis took notice of it. Fenrir however was looking for something more in particular, and after a while it did for a brief moment, a blue outline at the corner of his eyes appeared but just as quickly flickered off, "Stop."

Drayce stopped but was confused as to why, "Huh?"

Fenrir put a hand on his son's shoulder, "Son it isn't that your weapons broke because of an outside force, but because your aura has grown tremendously in just a short time." Drayce was shocked about this as it was different from what he thought, "With that being said you can repair your weapons, but I recommend putting them into all one weapon for two reasons." Fenrir raised a finger, "One because not only you can ensure that this weapon will have everything you would need and use your other weapons for more niche scenarios."Fenrir raised another finger, "Second, your other weapons, since already made, are only able to hold a certain amount of strain from your aura even if you upgrade the amount it holds because of your aura's density which has also changed. With your new weapon you can have it to where it can grow with you."

"How would I do that?"

Fenrir smirked, "Well you have a Rose with you. Her family was infamous for making the best quality of weapons ever, especially aura based weapons since they can feel how much of aura someone has if they tried and Ruby no doubt can do the same."

Drayce nodded to this and put all of his weapons back into his vault, as Anguis then departed with Drayce to the White Fang's main base in Mistral but decided that they would take a detour back to Beacon Academy to fix his weapons.

Drayce's ship landed on the docks of Beacon Academy as when he stepped out he walked towards his dorm with Anguis right behind him. "So this is Beacon Academy huh. Nice and homey if you ask me. I kind of like it."

Drayce nodded, "This place's atmosphere is always great to be in, both in study and just to take a stroll through."

"You don't say," Anguis thought for a moment, "Well I have to come back here more often." They then entered the dormitory building as they strolled through the halls, "Now then when am I going to finally be able to meet our Queen, to be?"

"Anguis," Drayce said in a low tone.

Said person laughed, "Come on your highness when are you going to admit that you love her?" Anguis turned to his Majesty, "Besides you do an awful lot for her."

Drayce stopped for a moment and pondered on that fact, before he shook his head and continued on. They both stopped at team RWBY's.

I took out my scroll to open the door but Anguis had to comment on this. "Oh and you have the keys to her room," the young captain smirked slyly.

"We had all agreed it would be smart just in case certain things would happen," Drayce reassured.

"Sure."

They opened the door to see Ruby and Yang jumping around having a pillow fight as they threw pillows at each other with Weiss and Blake being in the crossfire sometimes. Thankfully for Weiss she was able to block them in time and Blake just either moved her head slightly to dodge or just out right grabbed it and threw it on the floor.

"Take it back!" Ruby yelled as she threw a pillow at her older sister.

"Just admit it. At the end of the day you know so don't deny. And I won't give up until I hear you say it!" Yang chucks a pillow at Ruby who bends backwards, letting it pass by her as it barely touched her nose. That was until Yang threw another clobbering Ruby onto her bed. "Now say it."

Ruby looked on in defiance as she was about to speak until a voice started laughing. All of team RWBY looked to the new voice to which there was Drayce along with a guy with an Arlyn military uniform but he seemed to be close to their age. "You were right, your highness, this atmosphere is great to be in."

Everyone looked to him confused on who this was "Um Drayce," Ruby began, "Who is this?"

Anguis chuckled, "Well let me introduce myself your highness."

This got a reaction from team RWBY as Weiss, Yang, and Blake stood protectively in front of Ruby who had a stern look on her face. "There is a very select few who know that so…" Weiss then put glyphs all around Anguis surrounding him, "Who are you and how do you know who Ruby is?"

Anguis smirked mischievously but sensing that he would cause a scene Drayce decided to defuse the situation. "I did," The prince now had all eyes on him, "I brought this information to my father and a select few. The few being the commander-in-chief and his successor." Drayce gestured to his friend, "And this is one of them. Meet Captain Anguis, my other right hand besides Argus and probably the best in terms of combat in the RoyalGlaive." Drayce then smiled, which was something Ruby took note of, "And one of my best friend.", "Um who are you?" Ruby asked.

The young man laughed slightly, "My apologies to your majesty." He bowed while everyone else but Drayce got in a ready stance.

"Only a select few know that so who are you?" Weiss asked.

"And we are only going to ask you once," Blake said.

"Is that so?" He said with a mischievous glint in his eyes making them ready themselves. There was tension until rose his hand across the young man's chest.

"That's enough, Anguis," said the man, laughing at his highness.

Anguis waved his hand at him absent mindedly. "Aw well there goes my fun." He turned to the young ladies and then bowed slightly, "I am Anguis, one of the commanders in Arlyn of the RoyalGlaives. Also one of your highnesses best friends."

Weiss looked him up and down with surprise, "You're a commander?" She questioned not believing it one bit.

Drayce sighed, "Unfortunately it is true."

"Hey what's that supposed to mean?"

Ruby relaxed as she walked to him with her hand outstretched, "Well any friend of Drayce's is a friend of mine. I'm Ruby Rose and this is my team."

Anguis was surprised that she talked with him so casually as he was slightly thinking that she would act a little different from what he heard from Drayce since finding out her status of royalty. 'You both are one and the same.' Anguis thought of Ruby and Drayce as he shook her hand.

"I'm Yang Xiao Long, Ruby's sister," Anguis looked at her confused as he was told Ruby was specifically royalty. Yang noticed his questioning look, "Half sisters."

Anguis nodded with his mouth in the shape of an 'O' as he looked to the next person, "I am Weiss Schnee, Ruby's partner." Anguis remembered hearing about her but was surprised when he didn't feel or sense any hostility towards him for being a faunus.

"And I'm Blake Belladonna," Anguis looked at her closely and after a while her bow twitched, 'Ah faunus, that must be why Weiss is fine with faunus unlike her father.'

"I see," Anguis began, "If I am being honest all of you surprise me very much. I will be the first to admit you all act slightly differently than what I would have thought. It's good to know Drayce has some amazing friends."

They all smiled as well as Drayce, "Now onto business of why we are here." Drayce turned to Ruby, "I need help with my weapons and I wanted to ask if you could help me Ruby."

Ruby smiled at him, "Of course, I can help. What were you looking to make and why not or keep using the weapons you have now."

"Well since they were made with my aura and are supposed to store some of my aura. The main issue is that my aura has increased in quantity and density so I need a new weapon to accommodate that as well as other developments."

Ruby nodded and thought about the next thing, "What are you looking to make then?"

"Well I was going to essentially combine them into one. Their abilities will obviously not transfer because I think that is over doing it but essentially combine the ones I mainly use. The katana, chain sword, and spear."

Ruby thought for a moment then looked at Drayce, "Why come to me? I am pretty sure you could have done this yourself. So why come to me?"

Drayce sighed, "Honestly there are some things that I need to do before the Vytal festival. And I need them done now so I am on borrowed time. Plus you are much much better at me with this stuff. So I thought you would probably have a better way of doing this."

Ruby smiled at the last bit, "Sure, but after I want to check it's durability so we are going to spar with each other when it's done."

Drayce smiled and nodded to her as they just stood there staring at each other before they heard a cough from behind Ruby which was Weiss, "If you guys are going to do this, go get your weapon made somewhere else. Geez."

Ruby and Drayce blushed as they forgot that their friends were still there for a moment.

After a couple days of working it was a Saturday so school was out and they were in the training arena, with teams RWBY, JNPR, RRZA, Cardin, Russel, and Anguis was there waiting for Ruby and Drayce to come out.

First was Ruby as she was excited for everyone to see Drayce and her masterpiece. And she honestly believed that this was the best weapon she had made yet. She also found out how to bond aura to objects due to her lineage which wasn't hard at all after some trial and error.

"So sis how is it?" Yang asked.

Ruby shook her head, "Nope. I am not saying anything until he comes out. We agreed to show you guys some of how it works but you will have to see the rest when we spar."

Yang pouted at her sister, "When did you become a party pooper." Mostly everyone laughed at Yang's dismay, "Oh here he comes."

Drayce as she said appeared out of the hall with his weapon in a scabbard on his back. "Well I know you guys are very interested so but I am only showing what the sword can do." Again multiple people groaned in disappointment, "You will get to see it when Ruby and I start but first…" Drayce pulled out his new weapon as he held it at his side. The blade was a katana that was mainly black with what looked like a white large streak going down the side of the blade. The guard was in a circular shape with a small tube coming from the handle and connecting to the guard. It also had diamond-like cut outs on both sides of the guard. These were white and were located on the top left and right along with the bottom left and right. The handle wasn't his usual classic katana handle but more rectangular shape but retained not having hard edges. As the blade was connected to the guard so was one tube going into a port into the base of the blade. The pummel covered the handle at the bottom as if to add armor along with three small plates that curved around the backside of the blade.

"This is Royal Ryu, the white can change depending on the dust I am using." Drayce then pressed a button on his handle as the plates on the blade shifted up as the end of them (the point that is towards the guard) opened. He grabbed a fire dust crystal and injected into the plate as it closed and now the blade glowed red.

Drayce then swung his sword making an arc of fire. "I could have three at once for each plate and interchange them with a twist of the guard." Drayce demonstrated as he spun the ring of the guard as it spun slightly and then set itself. The blade now glowed green for wind. "And that's all the katana does."

"Alright now let's break it in," Ruby said with a smile as she uncurled her scythe, "Now I can show you how good I've become."
