Chapter 1
Running into the throne room, a short 5'2 but pretty sorceress whose eyes were a light lavender purple color. Her hair was Emerald green. She approached his majesty. Five long torturous years since Sarah had exclaimed, "You have no power over me,". Looking into his orb, he saw when Sarah finish high school. The new friends she made. And yet, not ONCE has she wished to see him. Did she think the Underground and Labyrinth were a daydream? Did she think he was trying to buy time when he declared his love for her twice? The only thing he, the Goblin King, knew was that Toby and Sarah would have better off with him. He would have given them all the happiness in the world!
Amora gave a small cough to bring Jareth out of this thoughts. "Thinking about them again?" She asked. Jareth changed his seating position. "What is it that you want, Amora?" He responded.
Amora smirked, going around the back of his throne to attempt to hug him. "You were a fool for letting her have a place in your heart. But more than that, the labyrinth needs her to comeback. You are the king of the Underground, she's a regular mortal. She's a young woman now. More wise."
Jareth twisted his body a bit to glance at her. "I will not be visiting her until she calls for me. She must ask that I take her away. It's the only way she and I could ever meet again. You know that!" He replied.
Amora stared at him. "Is that the only reason?" She asked. "Or are you still hurt she rejected your love? Do you want vengeance?"
Jareth was irritated. Amora ran a finger to his neck, down towards his arm. "No, I can see all she did was hurt you. And yet, you won't have another woman like me."
Jareth breathed slowly trying to control himself. "You aren't worthy of my time, Sorceress."
Amora came around to the front of his chair and stared down at him. She folded her arms over her chest. "You know I could do the noble thing. My magic is on a different level than yours. I could transport you to her world. You would be wealthy, handsome and human. In charge of a company. You would have the best material things like a Rolls Royce car, a mansion and even a yacht. You would have what most men could ever dream of. In business, you would be condescending. The men you work with would want to befriend and even be just like you. The women would want you for themselves. The only catch is you won't be able to use any magic or remember your life here or that you love that silly woman until Sarah forces you to recall your life here. She'll remember the you as the Goblin king but your appearance will change in order to fit into her world. You'll look younger. Your actual body will be in a frozen state in the tower. Your upcoming appearance will be like your shadow. I can guarantee she'll see you in a new light. You will feel everything that your human body will."
Jareth looked at her. Really looked at her with piercing eyes. "Why would you do that?" Amora smiled. "I finally understand that you will never love me the way you love her." Amora gave him a sad smile and he was sorry.
Jareth thought about it hard. "Do you think she'll fall in love with me?" He enquired in a whisper. His eyes looking to Amora. She nearly gasped at the pain still in them. She understood. He loved her more than his own life and definitely more than his crown. Jareth continued, "How will she help me regain my memory?" He enquired in an unusual gentle voice.
Amora smiled. "All she would have to do is host your crystal-ball up towards you while repeating the words you chanted to her when you had her in your arms in the ballroom. That's it. No other catch. She doesn't need to sing to you. She needs to speak them to you."
Amora picked up her crystal glass shaped Apple. "As a valiant, good man, she will love you unconditionally." She told him. "I can even make it where you protect Toby or run into Sarah quickly. But your majesty, I can only go so far with with my magic. You will only have one year to make her fall in love. You are needed here, Goblin King."
Jareth cast his eyes, locking with Amora's grape eyes. "Cast the spell already, Amora!"
Sarah was exhausted. Having two part time jobs plus school and now she wanted to spend as much time with Toby as possible. She loved one of her jobs. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday she would read to the little kids in the library. More then half the time, their father or Irene would drop him off before Sarah would begin a story, claiming it was for Toby's sake but really they wanted to carry on as if they never had him. And yet, when she spoke with them, the voiced their concern about Toby. Just Toby. Her other job? Acting. She loved the stage but the roles she chose had to have a message of good over evil. A moral female figure of all the girls. Sarah decided she didn't want to be like her mother, after all. It was after her final confrontation with Jareth. Jareth, the Goblin King. She hadn't thought about him in years! Something changed in her after Toby and she were returned home.
She just wanted a great education and a career. She didn't want to be famous. Sarah wanted a Mocha Frappe to help make sure she stayed awake. As Sarah started the story of, "The Tale of Two Princesses" which took place in the Kingdom of Lastonia. The older Princess was named Odessa. Her younger half-sister name was Allison. They were as different as Winter and Summer.
"So Princess Odessa decided to spare her sister, the only one who loved her. What she did instead? Princess Odessa forced Princess Allison into exile. Many knew Allison marry the young and charming, blonde hair, brown eyed Prince Marcus. He protected her, loved her. Odessa knew Marcus would welcome Allison into his kingdom. His parents would adore her. They would marry, But that, children, is a different story." Sarah announced, concluding the story.
There were thundering claps as Sarah received an outstanding ovation from the other parents. No, her mother and father were never there when she needed them. But she was grateful her little brother shared this moment with her.
Sarah made sure to bundle Toby up. It was early November. She could pick up the scent of Autumn and Apple crisp in the air. By the time she was done with her job, it was already passed 4 o'clock. "Well come on, Toby. We should go home. I'm sure you'll want your favorite soup, Campbell's Beef and Country Vegetables when we get in." Toby smiled, stretching up his arms, asking Sarah to pick him up. He was getting too big but she loved Toby. Sarah smiled as he gripped Lancelot tightly, holding the bear in safety. Toby giggled as the autumn maple leaves swirled around. "You love that, huh?" Sarah replied smiling with her brother. "Yeah, Sarawah" Toby replied, gripping Sarah's thick leather jacket. Sarah smiled. It was a chilly Autumn afternoon, normal for this time of the year.
Sarah made sure she held Toby tightly, her hip was an anchor as they were crossing the street the moment they had the light to get to the bus stop. Before she knew it, a car was going fast, headed right for them. The first thought was to throw Toby as far away from her as possible. She would only have to worry about herself from that point. When all of a sudden, someone yanked her wrist, pulling her on the ground. A man was over them, embracing Sarah tightly. Toby was in the middle of them. This man went out of his way to protect them.
The car was in the distance now. Sarah stared up at him. Shocked. Their savior. Sarah noticed his slicked back dark blonde hair giving off that classic film noir appearance. His hair bangs were to the side. He had two different eye colors. The only difference was he wore a gray striped business suit, a long tan wool coat and had short hair. He still had that handsome face but no purple and white eyeshadow but he looked younger. "Are you and the child, alright, Miss?" He asked her as gently as possible. It couldn't be him. But Sarah knew that voice. "Jareth?" Sarah whispered suddenly. It was then her vision clouded and her world went black.
