AN: Hello everyone! I hope you found my previous Black Clover story interesting.

For those of you who didn't want to read that story, don't worry.

I have this other one to show you and in this one we will have one of the best Avatars in the history of your world, although that will depend on what is going to happen with the new Avatar they recently confirmed, Avatar Pavi.

I can't wait to see what they have planned for her… legend.

Anyway, with nothing more to say, let's begin.

'The Legend of Korra' is set after the events of 'Ruins of the Empire'.

'Black Clover' is set before the journey to the Heart Kingdom.

I don't own anything except the OCs.

The Clover Kingdom, one of the four kingdoms that made up the continent.

This particular kingdom was ruled by two kings.

One was the king of the kingdom, who TRULY ruled everything and everyone; and the other was the Wizard King, but he wasn't a real king, as it was a title given to the most powerful mage in the kingdom.

That particular mage was in charge of leading the Magic Knights, an organization composed of mages of all kinds and from all parts of the kingdom whose mission was to maintain the peace and security of the kingdom and its citizens.

These Magic Knights were divided into various squads with their captains and their members, as well as their own bases where they stayed while awaiting missions.

And speaking of bases, right now we are heading to one in particular.

This base was a sort of mansion made up of cubic structures, like a construction toy.

That was the base of the squad of the Black Bull, a squad that once upon a time, was considered the worst squad because its members, as well as its captain, were savages and madmen who caused destruction every time they fulfilled a mission.

However, all that changed when a special boy joined that squad, because thanks to him, the Black Bull became a famous squad that was on par with Golden Dawn, considered the best squad.

BOOM

But while their reputation changed a bit, their members… not so much.

"Come back here, you bastard!" exclaimed Magna, fire mage, as he chased after someone.

"You'll have to catch me first!" said Luck, lightning mage, with his lunatic grin, as he ran away from his fellow orderly.

"You'll pay for eating my pudding!" began Magna as his grimoire floated to his side and a fireball was created in his hand. "Fire Magic: Exploding Fireball!" shouted Magna throwing the fireball.

The fireball flew straight towards Luck and just as it looked like it was about to hit him…

"Lightning Creation Magic: Thunder God's Boots!" shouted Luck creating a boots of electricity with which he moved at a faster speed, being able to dodge the fireball that hit the wall, generating a hole in the process.

Even though those two were in hot pursuit with fire attacks, the others were acting completely normal, because to them, it was just an ordinary day at that base.

"Ah, there's nothing like hearing those two to know it's a good day." said Vanessa, thread mage, as she sat on the couch drinking a bottle of wine with other empty bottles next to her.

"You know how this day could be any better? If we went out for a drink somewhere" began Finral, space mage, in a flirtatious manner towards the thread mage, but soon after, he was on his knees on the floor, hunched over and with his hands on his head in panic. "What are you doing, Finral?! You can't do that having Finesse already!"

Next to him, was Charmy, cotton mage, sitting at a table filled to the brim with food and eating non-stop while some sheep were cooking and handing out more plates for him to eat.

"As long as they don't touch my food, I don't care what they do to each other." said Charmy as she continued to eat without a care in the world.

"Peoplesaythatgreatfriendsusuallyfight, whichmeansthosetwoaregreatfriends. Maybeweshouldfightlikewiseasasignofourgreatfriendship." said Gordon, curse mage, speaking in such a fast and low manner that he couldn't be understood.

"Ah, Marnie. No matter what chaos happens around me, you will always be foremost in my mind." said Gauche, mirror mage, as he looked at a picture of his little sister with a little blood coming out of her nose. "Isn't she beautiful, Grey? Huh? Isn't she?" asked Gauche to Grey, transformation mage, who got nervous.

"Y-Y-Yes, she is. I-I-I… Don't look at me! Shame on you!" said Grey covering her face in embarrassment.

Suddenly, she noticed something approaching her and she pulled her hands away slightly to see a bedbug and before she could react, the bedbug released a stinky gas, making her scream in surprise.

"Hahaha. That's what you get for closing your eyes." said Zora, ash mage and expert in magic traps.

"You idiot! Don't drop those things near my little sister!" said Gauche protecting his little sister's picture.

"How… fun… ny…" said Henry, recombination mage, who was in a secluded area isolated from the others in the room, as he possessed a disease that made him absorb the magic of anyone who came near him, so he spent a lot of time alone in that mansion that was his home before being a base and because of that, he tended to speak very slowly.

"Honestly, I don't know how I haven't gone crazy yet being around all of them for so long." said Nero, aka Secre, sealing mage and a girl who was living for many years due to certain events in the past, but in bird form until recent events allowed her to return to her human form and soon after, she became a member of the squad regardless.

"I ask myself that question almost every day." began Noelle, water mage, before tossing one of her pigtails behind her shoulder. "Hmph. So much for them controlling themselves a little."

"Oh, come on, Noelle. That's what makes this squad unique among all the others." said Asta with a smile.

That special boy I mentioned was him, for he was the only person in the entire kingdom who didn't possess any magic, but despite that, he pushed himself day after day, overcoming his own limits, all to achieve his dream of being able to become the Wizard King.

However, not only did he have physical strength, but he also had his own grimoire, the symbol of every mage, which granted him swords bathed in anti-magic, allowing him to be able to nullify or repel any magical attack.

"I guess you're right. Now I can't even imagine being in any other squad but this one" said Noelle.

"See? That's you love us all." said Asta.

"I-It's not that. I just have more respect for you than I did before. I don't love any of you, not even you, do you hear me?" asked Noelle with a slight blush.

"Oh, god. It's so obvious." thought Nero, as it turns out Noelle had developed feelings for Asta, but she was too proud and shy to admit it and while the others had noticed it, Asta hadn't.

"Well, since you're like this, I'll take the opportunity to spar a bit." began Asta before his grimoire floated to his side and from it he pulled out a broad bladed sword known as the Demon-Slayer Sword. "Hang on Manga, I'm going to help you!" said Asta before charging in with a small battle cry.

"That's the way I like it, Asta! Let's corner him!" said Magna before throwing another fireball that Luck dodged by taking a big leap with the help of his lightning boots.

That's when Asta jumped to stand next to him and swung his sword at him, but Luck managed to boost himself out of the way of the slash and get behind Asta before giving him a kick that sent him to the ground.

"You'll have to do better than that." said Luck without losing his smile.

"I'm not giving up yet." said Asta getting up from the ground before lunging towards Luck with his sword held high, but Luck quickly moved out of the way, causing Asta to slam his sword into the ground, shattering it a bit in the process.

Now inside the base Asta and Magna could be seen chasing Luck as Magna threw fireballs and Asta tried to hit him with his sword, only for Luck to quickly dodge all the attacks as he moved back and forth.

Despite all that, the others were quiet.

At least until someone opened the door and those who werenvt involved in the chase turned their gaze to the entrance to see a muscular man with a cigarette in his mouth and a katana at his waist.

That man was Yami Sukehiro, the captain of the Black Bull.

"Hey, will you stop trashing the base? I have something to say." began Yami, only for Asta, Magna and Luck to go about their business ignoring their captain as they went about causing minor destruction. "I said… Stop destroying the base!" said Yami giving the wall behind him a blow so hard it created a huge hole.

"Lead by example!" said Noelle, as Yami had done exactly what he wanted them to stop doing.

That blow was enough to get the attention of the three, who immediately stopped at the sight of their captain.

"Captain Yami! You're back!" said Asta.

"Hey, now that you're back, shall we fight? Shall we fight?" asked Luck insistently.

"Maybe later." began Yami before blowing out some smoke. "As I said before, I have something to say, so come closer and listen well."

At their captain's serious tone, the members of the squad moved closer to him so they could listen carefully.

"What is it, Yami?" asked Vanessa.

"As you may recall, we Black Bull were chosen to investigate the devils that caused those events." said Yami.

"Of course. I would never forget." said Asta with a frown.

"Me neither." said Nero.

To explain the situation, I will tell a long story.

A long time ago, in the Clover Kingdom there was a tribe composed entirely of elves.

Unfortunately, the relationship between humans and elves wasn't the best, since the nobles treated them as inferior beings or even worse.

However, there was one who wasn't like that, and he was the current prince of the kingdom.

He became close friends with the leader of the elves, and they talked to each other about peace and that everyone could live together in harmony regardless of race or status.

Unfortunately, there was someone who didn't want that peace and that someone was…

A devil.

A being from the underworld whose only desire is to bring chaos into the human world for fun.

From the shadows, the devil made the nobles attack the elves in order to seize the body and magic of their leader and be able to manifest in the human world, but the prince and his friend, Nero, managed to stop him and lock him up.

It seemed that everything was over, but it turned out that the devil had cast a spell that would make the elves reincarnate in the distant future.

500 years later, the devil manipulated the soul of one of the reincarnated elves to follow his orders, also with the help of the person in whom the soul of the reincarnated elf lived.

That was how he founded 'Eye of the Midnight Sun', a terrorist group bent on destroying the Clover Kingdom, but that turned out to be a deception, as its leader, the reincarnated elf, had the sole purpose of awakening the rest of the reincarnated elves.

Once he did so, he and the other elves who had taken over the human bodies in which they housed attacked the kingdom in order to resurrect the leader of the elven tribe and succeeded.

However, everything changed when the whole truth was revealed, and the devil appeared in the human world with a physical body.

It took the collaboration between Asta; Yuno, another Magic Knight and Asta's adopted brother; the leader of the elves and the prince, aka, the first Wizard King, who had come back to life thanks to Nero, who, due to the use of forbidden spells, was cursed with horns and turned into a bird, living in that form for those 500 years until she was able to return to her human form thanks to those events.

Fighting the four of them together, they were able to defeat the devil and make it so that the souls of the elves could go to the afterlife to rest in peace, although there were a few who were left behind, but that is another story.

You would think that peace had returned, but it didn't.

The people needed a culprit and because they knew the devil was responsible, they accused Nero and Asta.

Why Asta?

It turns out that there was a devil inside Asta's grimoire, and he was the source of the anti-magic that bathed the swords inside.

Thus it was that they were both brought to trial, where it looked like they were going to convict them even though Asta kept declaring that he would never harm anyone.

Luckily, the Black Bull arrived in time to stop the trial and with the help of other captains and the Wizard King himself, Asta and Nero were cleared of the charges, on the condition that the Black Bull would investigate the devils and find evidence to defend them.

And that's the whole story.

"Well. Julius has told me that they've been getting reports of something strange roaming around the outer area of the capital, and I think we can all guess what it is." said Yami.

"You mean there's a devil on the loose?" asked Magna.

"We're not entirely sure. That's why we're going to investigate that. And by 'we', I mean you two." said Yami pointing to Asta and Noelle.

"What?" they both asked at the same time.

"Why does it have to be just the two of us?" asked Noelle.

"Asta has anti-magic that nullifies any attacks the devil may have, and you possess a lot of magic power plus defensive and offensive spells to fight the devil if need be." said Yami.

"If so, then why can't I go too? My sealing magic could be beneficial in that situation. Even Luck could join since he's an expert at sensing the magical power of others." said Nero.

"Yeah, after what you have told about the devils, I want to fight one." said Luck with his usual psycho grin.

"You raise some good points, but all of you together emit a lot of magical power that would alert the devil. If Noelle goes with Asta, who has no magic power, it will be easier to catch him off guard." said Yami.

"Alright, Captain Yami, we won't let you down! We'll finish that devil!" said Asta with a smile of determination.

"Not so fast. If you do find him, I want you to come here as soon as possible and report back to us. There's no way you two are going to face something like this alone." said Yami.

"I agree, Asta, don't you remember how strong the devils are?" asked Noelle.

"Right. That's true." said Asta remembering that it took the help of Yuno, the first Wizard King and the leader of the elves to defeat a single devil.

"Good. With all that said, get going right away and you better not screw it up." said Yami.

"Understood." said the two in unison as they made the symbolic gesture of the Clover Kingdom.

"Wow. A mission for just the two of you alone. Anyone would think it's a date." said Vanessa with an amused smile.

"W-W-WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?! IT'S NOT A DATE! IT'S A MISSION AND JUST THAT!" exclaimed Noelle very blushing.

"Whatever you say, little princess. Hey, Asta, make sure nothing happens to her." said Magna with a toothy grin.

"Sure. I'll make sure she's taken good care of." said Asta.

"Don't say it like that, Bakasta!" said Noelle giving the boy a smack on the head.

"If you two have stopped your cheesiness, you better get going or I'll have to send you to the place myself." said Yami starting to get annoyed.

"Yeah" said the two a bit nervously as they didn't want to incur the wrath of their captain, so they quickly left to accomplish their mission.

"Good… luck…" said Henry.

"Do you think they'll ever figure it out?" asked Finral.

"With Asta's stupidity and Noelle's stupid pride, I'd say it will be a LONG time before that happens." said Zora.

"I agree. I spend a lot of time with Asta, and I didn't see any breakthrough between them." said Nero.

"But they are so cute and would be even cuter as a couple." said Vanessa.

"If it ever happens, I will gladly prepare a special feast for them." said Charmy as she ate.

"Couplesareanotherformoffriendshipandifthathappens, thefriendshipbetweenthetwoofthemwillreachanewlevel. IwishItoocouldfindsomeonetosharethatbondoffriendshipwith." said Gordon speaking very quickly and quietly.

"I'd like to say something, but I'm embarrassed." said Grey covering her face with her hands.

"As far as I'm concerned, they can do whatever they want, Marnie is the only one I really care about." said Gauche going back to staring at his little sister's picture.

"The bets are still on, right?" asked Magna.

"Yes, but it's clear you'll lose. You always lose." said Luck.

"I'm going to kill you!" said Magna before giving chase, re-causing the scenario from the beginning.

Yami let out a puff of smoke.

"Whatever. Now that I've said what I had to say, I'm going to the bathroom." began Yami before leaving unbothered by the chaos around him. "Let me know if anything happens, got it?"

Away from the base and the capital, Asta and Noelle were walking through the forest in search of their target using both their eyesight and their ability to detect magic and, in Asta's case, ki.

However, while Asta seemed focused on the mission, Noelle was more focused on something else, specifically, what Vanessa said.

"Anyone would think it's a date." said Vanessa at Noelle's recollection.

"That's silly! No way this is a date! It's a mission like many others we've had! Besides, why would I be interested in someone like him? He's an idiot, loud-mouthed, short, commoner with no magical power. Someone royal like me would never notice someone like him, but…" began Noelle before turning her gaze towards Asta, starting to think about the good times they had together, something that made her blush hard. "No! There's no way!"

"Huh? What are you talking about, Noelle?" asked Asta confused.

Noelle blushed so much that her face turned tomato red as she realized the last thing she said out loud.

"T-This… T-That there's no way we can find the devil just by exploring and searching." said Noelle.

"Why do you think that?" asked Asta buying his companion's excuse.

"Because devils are very smart. After all, that devil created a plan that lasted 500 years." said Noelle.

"I guess you're right, but still, we have a mission to investigate. Surely he must have left some clue or something." said Asta.

"Maybe." said Noelle.

For a couple of hours, the two of them were walking through the forest in random directions and so far, they hadn't found anything that told them there was a devil around or anything like that.

"Where would that devil be?" asked Asta.

"Three possibilities. Either he's long gone, or he's noticed our presence and escaped, or he's never been here. We should go inform Captain Yami." said Noelle.

"Yes, you have…" began Asta before suddenly sensing something. "Huh?"

"What's wrong, Asta?" asked Noelle.

"I feel something else around here besides us." said Asta.

"Really?" asked Noelle before concentrating so she could sense it with her magical power as well. "It's true. I feel it too."

"It's over there!" said Asta before running off in one direction.

"Wait, Asta! Don't go so fast!" said Noelle before following her companion.

Asta ran swiftly for a while until he reached the end of his journey, literally, for ahead of him was a precipice of great depth.

"How strange. I was just over here a moment ago." said Asta looking around.

Soon after, Noelle reached his side before resting her hands on her knees as she gasped for air.

"Asta, don't do that again. I don't run as fast as you do." said Noelle before straightening up.

"Oh, sorry, Noelle." said Asta.

"Never mind. Did you find what you felt before?" asked Noelle.

"No. I think it's gone. Damn. That devil is very slippery." said Asta with mild frustration.

"That's the way devils seem to be. We'd better go report this as soon as possible." said Noelle.

"Understood." said Asta.

The two were about to leave the scene, but then, rustling sounds sounded just below them.

Looking down, they discovered that the ground beneath them was cracking and before they could think or react, the ground beneath them cracked completely, causing the two of them to fall off the cliff.

"Noelle!" exclaimed Asta stretching his hand out towards her.

"Asta!" exclaimed Noelle stretching her hand toward him.

They both stretched out their hands as far as they could, but they never made contact.

It looked like they were going to crash into the bottom of the cliff, but then, for some strange reason, a portal opened right below them and before they were aware of them, they both fell into it and once they crossed the portal, it disappeared, leaving no trace of ever having been there.

AN: What did you think? I hope I did well with the portal theme.

If you have questions about it, they will be explained in due time.

Until then, I hope you enjoy this story.

See you in the next chapter.
