What a crazy week, Clark thought while he sat with his family and Jimmy on the top of the Daily-Planet-globe on the top of the Daily-Planet-building and watched the sunset. His son in his left arm and Lois in his right. His cape and Johnny's cape flattering in the wind.
"Your mother and I used to sit here often before you were born! Nice that you join us now!" Clark said.
"That was so cool! My first Superhero-mission!" Johnny raved.
Clark and Lois looked on each other a bit worried…
"Well… Let's say that saving Mrs. Stone was the very first Superhero-mission you had!" Lois said. "Don't forget that this remains our secret, too!"
"Okay! But what about Mrs. Stone, Mommy?"
"Oh… we don't have to worry about her knowing our secret anymore!" Clark said with a sorrowful smile.
When Lois went to the hospital after the events at the school today, she met Mrs. Stone's husband who told her that the doctors confirmed a memory loss. It was possible that she will never ever remember what happened in the past few days and therefor forgot every moment Johnny used his powers in School. So, whatever happened down in the basement helped them.
"I still can't believe that we got out of this!" Lois wailed and looked at her son. "But now we have to come up with a cover story for… ehm…!"
Everyone looked on Johnny now, sitting there in the Superman-suit he got from his Kryptonian-grandparents, today and smiling brightly…
Everyone saw Johnny flying. Everyone saw him flying his father out of danger. Everyone saw him in his suit. Everyone knows now that Superman has a son! Or that there was at least a child out there that had the same ability to fly. And it created a huge hype. Especially among the young Superman-fans. Messages kept popping up on all their phones. Lois shuddered at the thought of writing now an article about her son! People will demand answers, photos and to see him again.
"Johnny… the past few days were so crazy. I am glad that you understand that you can't talk to anyone about it!" Lois said while stroking her son's hair. "Not to your teachers, not to your friends and not even to your grandpa Sam!"
"Because it would end everything you have worked so hard for. And the bad guys will always have an advantage if they figure out!" Johnny said.
"Exactly… so… don't be mad that you can't join me on some savings right now! For that your powers are still too weak and we need a way to figure out how to hide your true identity." Clark explained. "And also, no matter how much everyone is raving about it, or who talks about it, don't show that you are flattered. Even when it is difficult, but if one of your classmates figures out…"
"There will be a disaster!" Johnny concluded. "And this is not what we need!"
"Exactly! Sorry to bother you with that… but fame isn't worth the danger! You have seen what happened to Mrs. Stone!"
"Yes! I will not tell anyone who we are!"
"Aww…" Lois, Clark and Jimmy hugged the boy. Happy to have him in their secret and happy that he not only understood the seriousness but also the responsibility of this huge secret.
"But what about my school? Will they really demolish it?" Johnny asked.
"OH… Don't worry! I checked it!" Jimmy told.
Jimmy talked to the mayor and the principal after Clark and Johnny flew away. Thanks to Superman's (and Superboy's) help, the school's foundation remained unharmed. After cleaning and refurbishing the school, they will continue like nothing happened. The school will remain closed for the next week, giving the Kents enough time to enjoy the now powered Johnny and help him to adjust to this new reality.
"And what about that man who planned it?"
"Oh… Luthor won't try to do that ever again. Now that he has a commission of inquiry looking on him as well as countless of lawyers of the affected families, he can't allow himself any more stress." Lois explained.
"But I admit, it was very funny to see how Lex was… well…" Clark said while thinking about Lex' mud-shower and put his arm over his son's shoulders again. "You know… we were scared to tell you! Because we feared you could be mad on us! But I am glad that you know it now!"
"Me, too!" Lois added. "Now we don't need to come up with… well…"
Lois almost blurted out 'excuses' but they didn't want to think about now.
"But I can't believe your grandparents gave you a suit?"
"Cool, isn't it!" Johnny raved, looking down on himself and then on his father. "But do I need to wear a red underpants, too now?"
"Oh… not if you don't want! But who knows what the future holds for you?" Clark smiled. "You come definitely after me. So you might get as tall and bulky as I. In that case, the underpants will let you look more muscular!"
"Then I want them, too!" Johnny said with a bright smile. "But only if they let me look bulkier!"
"We tell your grandmother when we go back." Clark said before he saw that Johnny didn't know which one. "Your human one! She made mine, too!"
"Guys… I know we just saved New Troy. But I have the feeling that we forgot something?"
"Oh… you mean Beast Boy and Plastic Man? They are with Jon now? He always wanted to meet them, too. Together they take care of the metahuman and his family…" Lois said, being grateful for the help. "Jon has a few hours before he needs to go back to his Earth and he wanted to use the opportunity…"
"No… but wasn't there something with this werewolf."
"Another metahuman! He is with Star Labs now!" Clark told.
"And who did tell us about him?" Jimmy asked upset.
Everyone's eyes widened in shock when they realized that he means Timmy Tanner…
"Oh…" Clark reached out his hearing to hear the teenager from next-door hammering against their door. Demanding loudly to open and talk to him. "…Timmy is at our house now! We should take care of him soon, too!"
"And convince him that he is just imagining it!" Lois moaned. She liked Timmy, but she was not in mood that he was part of the secret before looking at her son again. "And you… we need to figure out how to prevent the people from figuring out about you, too! But good that your father and I work for the Daily-Planet…"
Lois got already a very long and remorseful apology-message from Perry, who began to believe that Lois was on the "Superboy-story" the whole time, which why she blocked his calls and messages. And now that the supposed "werewolf" was proved real Perry was calm again, too. For Cat a welcoming distraction from her Beast-Boy-canard. And since Cat had now a chance to talk to Beats Boy, too, they got a chance to make the best out of it. But after seeing how Clark struggled with his son, Beast Boy decided to keep his own son out of the public eye as long as possible.
Lois shuddered from writing the Superboy-article, but at least she had full control about it and was able to prevent rumors and false information about her son. Johnny was now a public figure, if they like it or not. And now they had to be really careful with what gets published, what they allow him to see and how to teach him to deal with it.
"Oh, Johnny… You have no clue how much I have to write now!" Lois smiled and put her arm around her son, too.
Together they watched the sunset… the city seemed to look even more beautiful than usual.
There was a lot coming up for them now…
An article about Superboy, Johnny meeting the other heroes (Johnny and Beast Boy were very curious about each other), the handling of the new metahumans, pressing charges against Luthor, trying to convince his sister to turn against him, rebuilding Johnny's school and the surrounding residential areas, rebuilding the toolshed that Johnny accidentally destroyed during his departure, Timmy Tanner, Johnny's powers, his secret-identity…
"Johnny… you know you can't tell anyone!" Clark told.
"Yes, daddy!"
"We also can't risk that anyone recognizes you!"
"Yes!"
"So far… you can only fly and are strong enough to carry one adult person! Before you have not all other powers, it is too dangerous for you to join me. That gives us some time to work out a disguise for you." Clark explained.
"What?"
"So… Johnny… ehm… it means, until you are ready to fully join me… after your other powers kick in and you are better at flying… we should consider that you… do what I do and find something to hide your…"
"AGHHH…" suddenly Johnny became pale and looked on his parents in shock. "YOU'RE TELLING ME… I HAVE TO WEAR GLASSES FROM NOW?"
That was the issue they were scared off. Lois and Clark looked on each other embarrassed and smiled.
"Ehm… well… you said yourself that they are a better disguise than everyone thinks." Clark said. "Because people see what they want to see… and…
Johnny put a hand over his eyes and mentally imagined himself entering the school with glasses next week, when they reopen it.
"Everyone will call me a…"
"No! You just got bad eyes and you are too young for contacts! I wore glasses my whole life. It won't be that bad…" Clark reassured.
"But… GLASSES…" Johnny was upset and began to walk up and down.
Lois, Jimmy and Clark looked on each other and smiled…
"Well… he reacts better than expected!" Lois shrugged.
Together they focused on the sunset again… it was much nicer to watch than Johnny being upset about his need to wear glasses from now.
