Finn plopped down next to me and handed me a Diet Coke before slipping his arm around my shoulders in one fluid motion. I rolled my eyes but leaned into his embrace without protest. The engagement ring on my finger still felt awkward but I was getting used to it. I wouldn't take it off for anything in the world at all. I loved it, and I loved what it stood for. It was a beautiful symbol of Finn and I's love. Mercedes plopped down on the other side of us and smiled at us, shaking her head.

"You guys are so cute." She laughed. I rolled my eyes and cracked open my Diet Coke. I took a long sip and then sat it down on the coffee table in Kurt and Finn's room. We were all sitting around talking and laughing while we waited for the ball to drop and bring in the New Year. I was trying not to think about all the firsts that this year would bring. Mainly all the first times I wouldn't have my dads around for things. This year would also bring the end of high school and the beginning of college in New York. Finn had gotten into NYU and I had gotten into NYADA. We were looking at trying to find an apartment together, that or we were going to live with mom. The plan had always been to live with mom, but now that we were engaged it was a different story. I still couldn't believe mom had actually approved for us to get engaged. I was still amazed. We didn't want to get married until we graduated college though, this was just a public statement of a promise that we were the only ones for each other. Sam sat down on the other side of Mercedes and started a rather flirty conversation. The whole Glee club really wanted them to just go ahead and get together already.

"One minute!" Kurt announced and turned up the volume on the TV. I laced hands with Finn and squeezed tightly. We were about to enter one of the best years of our lives, I could already tell. I was excited and scared and nervous all at the same time, and it was wonderful.

"TEN. NINE. EIGHT. SEVEN. SIX. FIVE. FOUR. THREE. TWO. ONE!" Everyone cheered at the top of their lungs. Finn smiled and kissed me gently on the lips.

"Happy New Year Rach." He said grinning like a fool. I smiled.

"Happy New Year Finn." I said back. Sam leaned in and kissed Mercedes firmly on the lips. When Sam pulled back nervously Mercedes grinned and leaned in for another kiss. I smiled to myself and glanced at Finn. I could tell we were both thinking it was about time.

"Another year you made a promise, another chance to turn it all around, and do not save this for tomorrow. Embrace the past and you can live for now." Finn sang and pulled me up on my feet.

"And I will give the world to you." I sang back and pulled him around in a circle.

"Speak louder than the words before you and give them meaning no one else has found. The role we play is so important, we are the voices of the underground." Sam and Blaine picked up and harmonized together.

"And I will give the world to you." I sang back again. By now we were all dancing around and singing at the top of our lungs.

"Say everything you've always wanted. Be not afraid of who you really are cause in the end we have each other and that's at least one thing worth living for!" Santana belted with Brittney in the background.

"And I will give the world to you." Tina sang with me this time.

"A million suns that shine upon me a million eyes you are the brightest blue. Let's tear the walls down that divide us and build a statue strong enough for two." Blaine and Kurt harmonized beautifully.

"I pass it back to you, and I will wait for you. Cause I would give the world, and I would give the world, and I would give the world to you." Tina, Mercedes, and I sang in three part harmony as we danced around.

"This is the new year, a new beginning. You made a promise. You are the brightest. We are the voices." We all sang loudly. "This is the new year! We are the voices! This is the new year!" We all finished singing together. I smiled widely and kissed Finn again.

"I'm so excited to share this new year with you." He told me. I smiled wider and leaned into his side while firmly holding his hand.

"I'm excited too. It's going to be an amazing year. I just know it." I assured him and glanced up at him. He smiled and kissed the top of my head. I glanced at my watch and frowned. "I should probably head home. Mom wanted me home around 12:30." I told Finn. He nodded and grabbed my coat off the couch.

"Let's go. Before all the crazy drunks get out on the road." Finn suggested and grabbed his keys and jacket off the hook by the stairs. He followed me slowly up the stairs to the main floor of his house. Burt and Carole were chatting on the living room couch.

"You headed out Rach?" Burt asked. I nodded and pulled my coat on while Finn ran out to start his truck and get it warm.

"Yeah. Mom wanted me home basically as soon as the ball dropped." I answered. Burt nodded.

"Well, be safe." He said seriously. I nodded and headed out the front door. It was freezing outside. I pulled my coat around me tighter and walked quickly out to Finn's truck. He jumped out before I could get there and opened the door for me. I smiled and climbed into the truck. Finn shut the door behind me. Then he ran around and hopped in the driver's seat. He pulled out of the driveway and turned on the road toward the main road. We got out on to the main road and were cruising in beautiful silence. Suddenly there was a loud noise and we were sent spinning across the ice and Finn couldn't get it under control. I heard a crunch and I faded into black.
