Buffy found herself in an alleyway, which fortunately meant no one saw her appear out of nowhere and it didn't take her long to figure out that Dawn had sent her through a portal. It also didn't take her long to realize she'd cut herself when she'd landed.
"Great, and it's raining." She muttered as she stood up, the rain mostly washed the blood on her hand away and the cut was already closing with Slayer healing, so Buffy ignored it and made her way out of the alley and took a look around. It was night and she seemed to be in an area that definitely wasn't residential. Across the street a sign on the building announced what she thought might be club of some kind.
Judging by the name something possibly vampire related. Great, she couldn't escape vampires. More bad luck, it seemed to be the only place with lights on, indicating it was open.
"Unless it's like the Bronze, a teen hang out place, I'm probably too young to even be in it." Buffy grumbled. "Maybe they'll let me sit in the foyer until Xander can find me. Worth a shot." She hurried across the parking lot and banged on the door, a bouncer opened it and looked her up and down.
"Looking for work or play?" He asked.
"You're not going to ask how old I am?"
"I don't care, I only have to worry about underage humans since we sell liquor, the rest of you, it doesn't matter if you're a babyvamp or a 1000 years old, you're here to work or to play."
He thought she wasn't human? He thought she was a vampire? Where did he get the idea that she was a vampire? "You think I'm a vampire?"
"I'm a werewolf, honey, I can smell blood on you and something kinda rotting. You keep a human passed it's used by date? That could get you in trouble, cost of mainstreaming, vamps get rights and have to follow the laws."
Rotting? He must have a really good sense of smell if he caught the lingering wisp of the dead cat from a few days ago. As for blood, Buffy knew that was from the healing cut. Mainstreaming? Vampires had rights? "Um, I guess that depends on if it can be proven." She tried to act like she had a clue what was going on.
"True that, so work or play?"
"Um, well, play I guess. At least for a little while, I'm waiting for some friends to catch up to me."
"Mind the rules." The werewolf bouncer told her. "The humans that come here, everyone has their limit, respect it. Some just want to dance and hang out with vamps, others are willing to be fed on by vampires. Others want sex. The Sheriff is in residence tonight and he will slap you down if you break the rules. And yes, we sell Tru Blood, if you prefer synthetic blood."
Synthetic blood? Humans and vampires - was this a sucking house like the demon gangster Mr. Teeth's species like to set up? What could she do if it was? If vampires had rights than she wasn't even in her reality anyway since they no longer existed nor had rights when they did. There probably wasn't much she could do, but she still needed to get out of the rain and this place seemed like the only real option, so Buffy paid the cover charge and was admitted.
Oh Hell, Mom was going to kill her, she so did not belong in this place. It was a big, open bar with a few tables scattered around. Some platforms had dancers. Dancers with fangs that didn't look at all like the fangs of the vampires she was familiar with. Everyone, male and female, was dressed very provocatively. And in the back on what looked like a throne was a man who was probably taller than Angel was when he was standing, judging by his long legs. Which two barely dressed women were sitting beside. Wow, he was good looking.
No, be honest, he was hot. His shirt was half unbuttoned showing his smooth chest. The dark color suited his pale skin. He had sandy colored hair and a dimple in his chin. Buffy's brain shut down and she absently wondered if she was drooling. "Xander, find me before I do something stupid." She muttered, wrenching her eyes away from him and making her way to an empty chair at a nearby table and shakily lowering herself into it. "Where the Hell did Dawn send me?!"
A gust of wind heralded the arrival of something at the table and a shadow fell over her. Buffy raised her eyes and met the eyes of the man from the throne who'd crossed the room far faster then any vampire she'd ever known. "You're new." He stated the obvious. "Welcome to Fangtasia, I'm Eric Northman, one of the owners and Sheriff of area 5. Who might you be, little one?"
"Buffy, I'm Buffy."
The vampire blinked. "Now, there's a name that just screams I'm a topless dancer. You looking for a job, little one?"
Oh, he so did not -! If she got out of here alive, she was going to kill Dawn!
