Mia: We were resisting the attack as best we could, but we were at a disadvantage in numbers, "When will the reinforcements arrive?" I asked to John
Jhon: "They must have already arrived; they must be busy with something else" I said while I hitting an invading wolf
Mia: "What could be more important than this?" I asked annoyed
Jhon: "I don't know, maybe it's not the only front they attacked" I said seriously
Mia: After several minutes of battle, we had barely been able to contain the invaders, but we had already lost several alphas, but at that moment one of the alpha heirs arrived, along with several alpha
Jhon: "The reinforcements finally arrived" I said relieved
Maximilian: "What is the situation?" I asked them seriously
Jhon: "We have lost about 30% of our alphas, we have barely been able to keep them at bay" I informed
Maximiliano: "I understand, you did well," I said, then I addressed the alphas I had brought, "Attack"
Mia: I saw how all the alphas began to attack the invading wolves, so I breathed a sigh of relief, but I knew that I couldn't relax until this battle was won, as the battle progressed, I noticed that the wolves' strategy had changed, now they seemed suspiciously clumsier and more backed away quite a bit
Jhon: "We already have them," I said with confidence
Mia: "Something's not right," I said worriedly
John: "What do you mean?" I asked confused
Mia: "It became strangely easy; we are making them retreat very easily" I explained
Jhon: "Do you think it's a trap?" asked
Mia: "It's just a hunch," I said
Jhon: I thought for a moment and I said, "Go back and support Maximiliano's guards, if you are right, they will try to hide forces to attack us from behind"
Mia: "Right away," I said, nodding, as I stepped back and when I got to where they were, one of the guards greeted me with quite a bit of hostility
"What are you doing here, the battle is not over yet," the guard said seriously
Mia: "I came to support you; we think you want to flank us from behind" I explained
"Don't be ridiculous, those stupid wolves couldn't think of such an elaborate strategy, and we are more than enough to kill anyone who threatens Mr. Maximiliano," the guard said seriously
Mia: "You don't lose anything with the extra reinforcements anyway," I said seriously
"Of course, as if we were going to leave the glory to you," the guard said angrily. "Now get out of here before I accuse you of desertion and treason," the guard said seriously
Mia: "How stubborn they are" I thought, annoyed, but if they didn't want the support, there wasn't much I could do, their rank was much higher than me and as I left, I could see out of the corner of my eye how a shadow moved towards the group of guards. and as soon as I turned around, I was surprised to see how several wolves jumped from different positions, surprising the guards and seriously injuring several of them. I quickly ran towards them and intercepted one that had jumped on Maximiliano, "We have to get him out of here." "Sir," I said as I stood in a defensive position in front of him
Maximiliano: I nodded and I said seriously, "You better do your duty and protect me"
Mia: 'That's what I plan to do, now we have to advance and catch up with the attack group, this way we will have better opportunities' I said while hitting one of the attackers in the face
Maximiliano: "I know that, come on" I said seriously
Mia: I nodded and while we were getting ready to run, three enemy wolves blocked our way
"Where do you think you're going? We won't leave without Maximilian's head," the wolf in the center said seriously
Maximiliano: "Do something" I shouted, worried and scared
Mia: I looked around and quickly swiped at the ground to kick up dirt and temporarily blind them
"Damn" one of them shouted while trying to clean the dirt off of them
Mia: "Come on" I said seriously
Maximiliano: I nodded and began to follow her
Mia: While we were running, I took care of any wolf that appeared in front of us and avoided looking back, I knew that several were chasing us
Maximilian: "This is not good, those wolves keep appearing, where did so many come from?" I asked worried
Mia: "They've probably been planning this for a long time," I said seriously
Maximiliano: "Then what are you waiting for, do your job and get me to safety" I demanded, annoyed
Mia: "With all due respect sir, but you can shut your mouth, I'm already doing everything in my power to get you out of this" I said seriously
Maximiliano: I was surprised by the way he spoke to me and left me with several feelings that I didn't understand, so I just nodded
Mia: "That was strange, I wouldn't lose my composure like that, it must have been something that Samantha did at the time" I thought while I got rid of a wolf that wanted to stop us, "I could howl to call the other alphas" I asked Maximiliano
Maximiliano: "While we are running it is impossible, I have no breath" I said
Mia: I looked ahead and saw that four more wolves appeared to stop us and there were several behind us, but we shouldn't be far from the others anymore, "We have no choice, we will stop and I will buy all the time I can for you to howl and the others will come for us" I said seriously
Maximiliano: "You're crazy! We won't be able to hold so many wolves alone," I said, scared
Mia: "If you have a better idea, I'll listen to it," I said seriously
Maximiliano: I was silent for a moment until I told him seriously, "For your sake, I hope you are making the best decision"
Mia: "I hope so too" I thought as we stopped, I looked around and saw an old log that I pushed to make it roll towards those coming behind us, "That will give me a little time" I thought
Maximiliano: I was panting a lot because of how much we ran to escape from those wolves, but as soon as I had some air, I let out a loud howl with all my strength
Mia: We both started to retreat while we were surrounded by wolves, "We will not go down without a fight" I said with determination
Maximilian: "WHAT!" I screamed scared
Mia: I stood in front of him and said with determination, "I will win as much time as I can"
"We will give you one last chance, leave Maximilian and let you live, otherwise we will kill you along with him" the biggest wolf said seriously
Mia: "I won't let you kill him and destroy our pack, my family lives here" I said seriously, I was surprised because I didn't intend to say that, it must be what Samantha said at the time, "I didn't expect that she would sacrifice herself like that" I thought, surprised
"As you wish, kill them both," the wolf said seriously
Mia: I got into a defensive position and threw several blows at anyone who tried to get close, until one of them gave me a strong blow that knocked me back, "How did you get out of this Samantha?" I thought worriedly as I got up, I didn't know what could happen if I died here and I didn't want to find out
When the two were completely surrounded, several allied wolves appeared and began to attack the invaders
Mia: "What a joy, they weren't that far away" I said relieved
At that moment an invading wolf jumped at Mia with the intention of cutting their throats, but he was intercepted by Maximiliano, who gave him a strong blow, "Don't let your guard down, we're not out of danger yet," he said seriously
Mia: I was surprised by his change in attitude, "it seems that he can be brave when he is in front of others" I thought, "Yes sir" I said nodding
All the wolves fought fiercely, in the end the big wolf who seemed to be the leader was in front of Mia and Maximiliano
"Give me all the time you can, I will finish off Maximiliano" the wolf ordered his companions
The invading wolves nodded and tried to defend their position as much as they could
Maximiliano: "Get ready," I told the wolf seriously
Mia: I nodded and I said "I'm ready"
The wolf jumped at them, but both moved to opposite sides, the wolf quickly ignored Mia and focused on Maximiliano, whom he began to attack fiercely
Maximiliano: I could barely defend myself from all those attacks, "I didn't expect him to be so strong" I thought worriedly
Mia: I took advantage of the fact that he had turned his back to me to jump on him and bite his neck with all my strength
The wolf screamed in pain as he desperately tried to get her off of him, at one point he began to hit a nearby tree so that she would let go
Mia: I held on as long as I could, but at the fourth blow, I couldn't take it anymore and I let go, which caused it to crash hard against the tree, then I fell to the ground quite injured and exhausted, so I could only see the wolf approaching while I heard several voices in the background before losing consciousness
Meanwhile in the real world with Lilly and Garth
Garth: "It's good that we were finally able to have some time for ourselves," I said, smiling
Lilly: "I know, we've been so busy since we got back that we haven't been able to dedicate ourselves to ourselves" I said nodding
Garth: "I didn't expect things to get so complicated," I said
Lilly: "I understand, with just Humphrey and Sein it's enough to deal with and that adding Mia and the white fang and black fang packs, it's too much" I said
Garth: "Yes, all that involved a lot of work," I said, nodding, then I was thoughtful for a moment
Lilly: "What's wrong?" I asked, curious to see him so thoughtful
Garth: "I keep thinking about Shein," I said
Lilly: "Now I have to get jealous about that," I said jokingly
Garth: "What? NO!" I said quickly
Lilly: I fell to the ground while laughing loudly, "I was just joking, you fool," I said between laughs
Garth: "How funny," I said while rolling my eyes
Lilly: "I always have fun with you, it's one of the reasons why I like spending time with you" I said smiling as I got up
Garth: I smiled and asked, "Really?"
Lilly: "Of course" I said smiling before licking his cheek
Garth: I smiled and returned the gesture, "Come on, we have to enjoy our time together," I said cheerfully
Lilly: "I follow you" I said smiling
Back with Mia, after several hours she was waking up
Mia: "What happened?" I asked quite confused as I tried to get up
Jhon: I was visiting Mia, when suddenly I saw that she woke up, "It's better that you take it easy," I said while preventing her from getting up
Mia: "Where am I? What happened?" I asked quite confused
Jhon: "You are in the healers' cave; they gave you some good blows" I explained
Mia: "I see," I said while trying to remember what had happened, "What happened to Maximiliano?" I asked worried when I remembered that she was fighting that wolf to protect him
Jhon: "Don't worry, it's okay, you bought enough time for us to finish off the invading wolves and finish off that last wolf that threatened you" I explained
Mia: I sighed with relief and said, "That's great"
Jhon: "It seems that your performance impressed him a lot, he gave the order that you were among the first to be attended to by the healers and he wants to talk to you about something" I said
Mia: "I see," I said, nodding, "By the way, when can I go to my cave? My brother will surely be worried," I asked
Mia: "Thank you," I said gratefully
Jhon: "Thanks to you, you did very well" I said smiling before leaving
After several minutes Maximiliano entered the cave
Maximiliano: "It's good that you woke up," I said
Mia: "Thank you sir," I said
Maximiliano: "I'm a busy person, so I'll get straight to the point," I said
Mia: I just nodded
Maximilian: "For your performance in battle I will promote you as an alpha and you will be one of my personal guards" I informed
Mia: "Thank you very much, sir, it is an honor," I said, grateful and happy for having achieved my goal
Maximiliano: "I just want to keep an eye on you, I don't want you to say anything about what happened while we were facing the invading wolves," I said seriously as I left
Mia: "As I imagined, he doesn't want me to tarnish his reputation, but he also has no reason to get rid of me, I proved to be a valuable element, not to mention that he would lose the respect of the other alphas, since eliminating someone who risked his life for him it would be seen as a great betrayal and disgrace" I thought, "I understand" I said nodding
Maximiliano: "It's good that we understand each other, we'll see each other when you recover, I have several things to take care of," I said before leaving
Mia: "At least things will start to get better," I said to myself with relief
After a couple of hours Jhon had returned to see Samantha
Jhon: "How are you doing?" I asked as I sat next to her
Mia: "Well, rest feels good to me," I said
Jhon: "That's good, according to the healers you will need a couple of days of rest, but you could go to your cave this afternoon" I said
Mia: "That's good, I want to go back to my cave, surely my brother must be worried" I said
Jhon: "Speaking of which, there was a problem with the omegas," I said
Mia: "What problem?" I asked worried
Jhon: "Apparently there were some riots last night, that's why the reinforcements took so long to arrive and there were quite a few casualties," I informed
Mia: "I have to go" I said worriedly as I got up and despite the pain, I was able to do it
Jhon: "Take it easy, you're not totally fine," I said worried
Mia: "I don't care, I have to go check on him" I said worriedly
Jhon: I sighed and I said "Okay, I'll accompany you"
