"Cavalry Battle?" Damian said to himself as he heard Midnight's words. This was not something he had expected, nor anything that appeared in all the previous school festivals, meaning that this was an original idea that they came up with.
'I wonder how that one will work...It is not something where players are going to play as individuals.' Damian thought to himself. But he guessed that it would be best if he waited and let Midnight explain the rules of this round.
"You can all form 2-4 person teams freely and form a horseback configuration! Basically, it's the same rules as a normal human cavalry battle, swipe enemy riders' headbands and guard your own. But there is one more thing..." Midnight explained in an enthusiastic voice.
"Everyone will receive points based on their performance in the last round! And the number of points you're worth will be 5 points if you placed 42nd, 10 if you placed 41st, and so on!" Midnight explained in her usual mood.
'195 Points. So that is what I am worth.' Damian thought to himself, this whole cavalry battle certainly was going to be interesting, so he will play along. Not like he had a choice, in the first place.
"But the exception will be the first place, which will be worth...TEN MILLION POINTS!" Midnight shouted out in extreme enthusiasm.
As soon as Midnight shouted out how many points Izuku was worth, all eyes were on him, like lions observing their injured prey.
"T-Ten Million?!" Izuku thought to himself in shock, he did not expect something like this to suddenly happen, was he hearing this correctly? He instantly knew that he was going to be the main target of this round, and it frightened him.
Damian also looked over at Izuku when Midnight announced just how much he was worth. He then quickly noticed how everyone else was observing him with hungry eyes. He just lightly smirked at this, this situation was going to be to his advantage.
'The eyes glaring at me now are different from middle school, through pure luck I managed to land a momentary spot at the top. Nevertheless...I am going to pull through!' Izuku thought to himself. His expression of fear and shock suddenly turned into one of determination and bravery.
"The time limit is 15 minutes, the point value of each group's headband is worth the total point accumulation of each of the warhorse's members. And the one to wear the headband will be the horse's rider! Until time is up, you'll all be fighting and stealing as many of each other's headbands as you can!" Midnight kept explaining.
"But the most important aspect of the cavalry battle is that even if you should lose your headband or crumble as a horse configuration, you're still not out of the game!" Midnight said.
Damian kept listening closely to each word Midnight was saying, and he was already making a clear picture of the cavalry battle in his mind with each rule Midnight kept saying, and now he was sure, while this may be a bit weird and unorthodox, it definitely will be exciting.
"Alright! Now you all have 15 minutes to organize your team until we start the round! Good luck!" Midnight said, finally finishing her explanation of the cavalry battle.
Damian observed how almost everyone kept swarming Katsuki and Shoto, wanting to be part of their teams since they seemed the strongest of the class, but he noticed that no one was really walking up to him. 'So, this is how we are gonna do it, huh?' He thought to himself while leaning against the wall.
"Hey Wayne! Let's team up!" A voice said from Damian's side, as the individual was getting closer and closer towards him.
Damian quickly looked over to his side to see who was approaching, and he was kind of surprised "Kirishima, is it?" Damian asked.
"That's right! I am glad that someone finally remembered my name properly. Anyway, what do you say? We could really mess up those other guys together!" Kirishima said in excitement, awaiting Damian's answer.
"Your power is hardening any part of your body to the point of being stronger than stone, correct?" Damian asked, still keeping eye contact with Kirishima.
Kirishima just nodded his head at Damian's question "I can withstand anything, which would make me perfect for the front of the horse! I can protect you from any frontal attacks while you are the rider, whatcha say?" Kirishima said, clutching his fist together.
Damian thought about it for a second, and what Kirishima said just might be perfect. If he was in the front, he could endure most frontal attacks that could harm them, as well as strike back if the target was close enough.
"Alright then, it is a deal. You will be the front of the Horse while I will be the rider." Damian said, finally pushing himself forward a bit off the wall.
"Hell yea! With you and me, we will be a horse that cannot be shaken, and we will make all the other ones see that they should not mess with us!" Kirishima said once more in excitement, glad that Damian had accepted his request.
"Makes me wonder..." Damian said as he looked over towards Shoto and Katsuki, who still pretty much had a crowd around them. "Why did you specifically come up to me? Those other two could also be fairly powerful as riders." Damian commented, looking back at Kirishima.
"You are right, they are pretty powerful. Originally I wanted to try and partner up with Bakugo, but instead, I thought that the most logical part would be to team up with you. You managed to keep up with both of them despite being quirkless, and I noticed that you have one thing they don't...You have the power of Intelligence." Kirishima commented, looking at Damian.
Damian just let out a light 'Hmph' as he heard Kirishima's words, he was a bit flattered, but was not showing it. "Very well then, we need to find two others who would be on the back, got any ideas?" Damian asked.
Kirishima thought for a second, rubbing his chin. "I think I know just the person who could be of assistance..." He said.
"Sero! We want you as part of our horse!" Kirishima said, walking up to Sero with his usual cheerful attitude.
Hanta Sero quickly turned around as he heard Kirishima's voice, seeing both Damian and Kirishima walking up to him. "Wait really?" He asked. He had already tried to go with Shoto or Katsuki, but he was rejected both times, and was not sure with who he would partner up.
"Your tape ability can be extremely useful, with one arm you could secure the side, as well as watch out for the back and immobilize any incoming enemies." Damian said as he walked up to his classmate. Kirishima was right, he is definitely useful.
"Alright then! Sounds good to me, for a second I thought I could be partnered up with someone worse, it's good that you approached me." Sero said with a small laugh while he rubbed the back of his head.
"Hey, you guys got one more spot open?" A voice said coming from behind the trio, as all three of them look back to see who it is.
"Ojiro? Of course! We would be happy to have you with us!" Kirishima said, looking at the Ojiro as he got closer to them.
Damian thought for a second, and he already realized that Ojiro may be of good use to them with his tail quirk. "Alright, you're in." Damian just said.
Ojiro smiled after hearing Damian's words that he was accepted as the fourth and last person for Damian's Cavalry team. "Thank you, I will make sure to help the best I can." Ojiro said with enthusiasm.
Soon enough, Damian's team got together as they huddled up to discuss the strategies, and since Damian was the brain of the whole team, he is going to think of something.
"Alright, here is what we are going to do. Kirishima, you will be our main defense from the front, blocking any incoming hard attacks using your power, as well as provide some offensive assistance when the enemy is too close." Damian explained, looking at Kirishima.
"Sero, you will be our main defense from the left side, as well as from the back from time to time. You will use your tape power to immobilize any incoming enemies." Damian explained, as he looked over at Sero.
"As for you Ojiro, you will be our defense from the back, as well as from the right side from time to time. Using your tail you will be able to strike blows to the enemy in case they get too close." Damian explained, looking over at Ojiro.
"As for me...I have numerous gadgets that will help us out greatly, some of them the enemy won't even see coming. I will be mainly in charge of taking the headbands, but I will also mainly look out for our right side, as well as the front in case Kirishima has any trouble." Damian explained.
"This is not going to be easy, but we are gonna have to try our best. Teamwork and coordination are key, so let's make the most of it." Damian said with a small smirk. He was glad that the three of them were listening closely to his plan.
Kirishima, Sero, and Ojiro both nodded their head in approval, thinking that Damian's plan might actually work, but they were still a bit concerned about what they might encounter in the Cavalry battle. "Let's knock them dead!" Kirishima said, punching the air.
"Alright! Have you all formed your little teams? Well you better have! Let us now start the countdown to the vicious clash!" Midnight said, the 15 minutes were finally up, and it was now time for the round to officially begin.
Damian's team was already in the correct formation, Kirishima in the front, and Ojiro and Sero in the back. The raven haired male then started strapping the headband around his forehead, now he was ready.
"Alright! We will go charge at Midoriya as soon as the countdown reaches zero!" Kirishima said in excitement, observing Midoriya's horse which was made up of Uraraka, Tokoyami, and Hatsume.
"Wrong, we will not be going after Midoriya." Damian commented as he also observed Izuku's team, but he also managed to notice that everyone else was eagerly awaiting to charge at him, as well.
"Wait what?! But if we manage to swipe off his headband then we will instantly be in first place!" Kirishima said, turning his head around to look at Damian.
"That is true, but we need to think about this strategically. We will not be the only ones who are going to charge at him, all eyes are on him currently, and it will not be easy. Instead, we will use this to our advantage. Everyone will be focused on him, to try and snatch his headband. And while they are distracted, they will not see us coming, and that is when we attack."
"Ahh, I see. So we will be targeting those who have their eyes on Midoriya, and they will be distracted." Kirishima said, turning his head back up front, now it was starting to make sense, going after Midoriya will be risky.
"But don't worry, I am not saying that we won't be going after him the entire round, we will try and see if we will manage to swipe that thing off near the end when there will be less competition." Damian said, awaiting the countdown.
"3...2...1...START" Midnight yelled out as loud as she could, she had high hopes for this round, and was sure that it will be nothing less than exciting.
As soon as everyone heard the word 'START' almost all of them started charging towards Midoriya, aiming for the ten million points.
"Tokoyami! Initiate our escape move!" Izuku yelled out while moving his hands. He obviously knew that something like this was going to happen, and they had to start moving as soon as possible.
Damian and his team quickly started moving, as Damian himself started looking for any suitable target they could take on, and then, he finally spotted one team they could easily take down.
"Start going after them!" Damian said, pointing towards Hagakure's team, made up of Koda, Sato, and Jiro. Koda and Sato were not going to be a problem at all, it's only Jiro that they had to worry about.
"Hahahaha! Oohhhh Midoriya, I am coming for you!" Hagakure said in an excited tone as they were chasing after Izuku and his team.
As Damian and his team were getting closer and closer, he pulled out his grappling gun, aiming to fire it towards Hagakure, and yank her down, making her entire horse formation fall apart.
"Hagakure! Behind Us!" Sato said as he turned around and noticed Damian and his team getting closer and closer towards them.
Hagakure turned around and saw Damian getting closer and closer by the second "Jiro!" she yelled out, Koda and Sato pretty much could not do anything to slow them down, Jiro was their only way of Defense.
"On it!" The purple-haired girl said as she then extended her earphone jacks, as they then started traveling at full speed towards Damian, to try and somehow subdue him before he got closer.
"Kirishima!" Damian yelled out as he saw the earphone jacks coming towards them, raising his left foot so that the red-haired male could use his arm to fend them off.
Kirishima quickly hardened up his body, raising his arm up into the air, managing to smack away one of the ear jacks coming towards them.
Damian shifted his focus on the other one coming right towards him, using his left arm to block the incoming attack, but then he quickly used his other hand to grab onto the earphone jack before Jiro retracted it.
Without any hesitation, Damian quickly yanked on the earphone jack with all his strength, hoping that this would slow them down a bit.
"Hey! OW!" Jiro yelled out as she felt her earphone jack getting tugged on harshly, causing her to slow down a bit, as Hagakure's team slowly started losing balance.
"Now, Sero!" Damian yelled out when they got close enough. Thanks to that harsh tug, Hagakure's team slowed down drastically, leaving room open for the finishing move.
Sero quickly nodded at Damian's order, knowing exactly what to do. He stretched out his left arm, pointing it towards Koda and Sato in the back, before firing his tape. The tape wrapped itself around Koda and Sato very efficiently, and then Sero tugged hard on it, making both Koda and Sato lose their balance.
As Hagakure's horse was about to break formation and fall, Damian finally surpassed them, as Damian reached out towards Hagakure and snatching off her headband just before the four of them fell to the ground.
And just like that, Hagakure's team was disqualified from the round, as Damian then put the headband above his neck.
"That was awesome dude!" Kirishima said enthusiastically with a small chuckle, they easily managed to bring Hagakure's team down with not much effort.
Damian just smirked at Kirishima's words, he was also proud of their achievement "We just need to keep up this coordination, then we will have this round in the bag" Damian said.
"Six minutes have passed since the beginning of the round, so let's put all those scores on the board for everyone to see!" Present Mic said enthusiastically, as the big board then showcased everyone's scores.
Damian then looked up at the scoreboard as it lit up, wondering in what place they were in "4th Place..." He muttered out.
For now, 4th Place does not seem that bad, if he could snatch one more headband then he would be in the Top 3. But he also noticed that six teams had their headbands already snatched away, so they needed to keep their guard up.
"Wayne! Watch Out!" Ojiro yelled out loud while Damian was looking at the scoreboard and thinking.
Damian reacted almost instantly, turning his head to the right and instantly ducking down, a hand barely missing him. If he was just a second too late, his headband would have been snatched.
"Huh, not bad. I have to admit, you do indeed have good reflexes from what I heard." Monoma said as his team quickly retreated several steps back after failing to snatch Damian's headband.
"Damian Wayne...The famous quirkless kid from Class 1-A. I have observed how you used your support items in the first round, I must say, it was really impressive. Utilizing all of those different toys perfectly, you had a fitting support item for every obstacle, and that allowed you to get to Third place." Monoma spoke, locking eyes with Damian.
"You are the kind of person who always thinks three steps ahead of his enemy, and I noticed how at the beginning of the round you were not going for first place, but rather were trying to take out the weaker teams, something I was doing as well." Monoma continued speaking with his usual grin.
Damian listened to what he was saying for some time, but he quickly started getting impatient "Are you here to compliment me or defeat me? Either way, I will be taking that headband off of you either way." Damian said.
Monoma just laughed at Damian's response "How interesting, do you really think I am intimidated by you? You should be the one to be intimidated by me...Because I am ending your game right here and now" Monoma said as two other Class 1-B teams appeared on Damian's other side.
"They are trying to surround us!" Kirishima said, observing the two other teams. It was now clear that Monoma formed some kind of coalition to take them down.
"Don't feel bad, you had your chance in the spotlight, but all good things come to an end...And I will be the one to make sure that your spotlight will be put out for all eternity. A quirkless kid like you has no place on the hero course, but I'll have you know that brains are not enough to become number one" Monoma continued talking, still maintaining eye contact.
"But I am feeling a bit generous today, so I will give you a choice. Hand over those headbands willingly...Or I will have to take them by force, and it will be faster for both of us if you hand it over willingly." Monoma said, ready to charge after Damian in case he tries to sprint away.
"If you knew me so well, then you would not even ask that question, because you will instantly know what my answer is!" Damian said as he quickly pulled out two smoke pellets from his utility belt and throwing them at the two Class 1-B teams, right at the riders as the smoke then quickly dispersed.
Just as when Damian threw the smoke pellet, Damian's team quickly started moving once again, trying to get away from Monoma. They would now have three teams chasing after them together, something which will not be easy to deal with.
"The smoke grenades, huh? Not bad, but predictable." Monoma said as his team then quickly started chasing after Damian as soon as he took off. The other two were temporarily stunned due to the smoke pellet, but they should start running after him very soon, as well.
Damian looked back, seeing Monoma's team running after him. He also knew that those smoke pellets won't distract those other two teams for too long, but at least it would give Damian enough time to think about what to do and how they could defeat three teams at once.
As the smoke then slowly started disappearing around them, Kaibara looked over at Kodai who was just about to charge towards Damian's position. "Wait, don't you think that maybe it is useless to help him?" He asked.
"What are you talking about? If we manage to take Wayne's headband off we will have him humiliated in front of the entire stadium." Kodai commented, stopping as soon as she heard his words.
"But then Monoma will just get his headband, leaving nothing for us. The whole point of this round is to steal as many headbands as we can, so why should we waste time on him when we can just target other people?" Kaibara responded.
Kodai thought about it for a second and just took a sigh "Alright, you got a point." She said as her team turned around and aimed for other Class 1-A teams. "Sorry, Monoma looks like you are on your own." She said, as the two of them started going in the opposite direction.
Monoma turned around, seeing how the two of them just gave up, and slightly growled "Leaving me alone just like that?" He said before facing forwards again. "Nevermind, I can take his headband all by myself." Monoma said as his team was slowly getting closer and closer to Damian.
Damian had also noticed that Monoma's classmates suddenly abandoned him. He let out a sigh of relief in his thoughts, knowing that he will not have to worry about them anymore. "We managed to get really lucky." Damian said.
Soon enough, Monoma then raised up his hand, as it then started letting out small spars, before it then turned into an explosion, barely managing to miss Ojiro from behind. 'Just a little bit closer.' Monoma thought to himself with a smark, once they get close enough, the explosion will make Damian's entire team collapse.
"Was that Bakugo's explosion?!" Kirishima said as he looked behind himself and was shocked, did Monoma have the exact same quirk as Katsuki? If that was the case, then they are soon going to be in big trouble if they don't find a way to evade them.
"Either way, we need to slow them down as much as we can, Sero!" Damian yelled out, waving his left arm and signaling Sero to shoot his tape at Monoma's team, to restrain them just like he did with Hagukare's team.
Sero turned around once more, aiming his left arm at the front of Monoma's team, hoping to restrain him. But as he was firing the tape, the student in front then started blowing, as he then created a decently sized glass barrier in front of them, completely blocking Sero's tapes from hitting them.
"Good job, Tsuburaba." Monoma said, looking down at his classmate with a smirk, before looking back up "A basic and predictable move, Wayne. Anything you try throwing at us is going to get blocked thanks to Tsuburaba's quirk, what do you hope to do now?" Monoma asked, his arm raised up high, they were just about to get close enough for the explosion to hit them.
'He's right, what am I going to do now?' Damian thought to himself. Anything he tries throwing at them will just get blocked, just like Monoma said. He also knows about every gadget Damian has showcased. But there was one gadget, Monoma was not able to see...'That's it!' He thought to himself again, he finally had a plan. It was risky, but at this point they had to take it.
"Kirishima, I have a plan. It is crazy, but just crazy enough to work. You, Ojiro, and Sero need to listen closely to what I am about to tell you guys." Damian said with a confident look in his eyes.
Sero, Kirishima and Ojiro nodded at Damian's words. They also knew that there was little they could do now, so they might as well take anything. "Just say what you need." Kirishima responded.
Damian raised up his arm to check the wind direction, it was currently blowing in the left direction, but they needed it to blow towards Monoma's direction. "We need to make a sharp turn, go around them, and run towards the opposite direction!" Damian said.
The three of them did not even hesitate at Damian's words, as they then suddenly drifted towards the left and turning around, running now towards the opposite side. They were unsure what Damian was planning, but with his strategizing, they would surely pull something off.
Just as Damian's team drifted, Monoma had once again unleashed the explosion quirk from the palm of his hand when he thought he was close enough. But he missed entirely when they drifted, and ran right past them.
Monoma's team quickly reacted, turning around and chasing after them once more. "I am unsure what you are trying to do here Wayne, but it is useless. You can't evade my explosions any longer." Monoma commented.
"Alright now what? It did not do much except dodge that attack." Kirishima said, looking back and seeing Monoma already hot on their trail again, this time they were a little more to the right.
"Slow down just a little bit, time to finish off this prideful moron." Damian said as he pulled out a smoke pellet in his left hand, and in the right hand he pulled out...The Explosive Gel.
Monoma noticed that Damian's team was slowing down a bit, and he just smirked. 'So they finally admit defeat...' He thought to himself. He raised up his hand once more, to then deal the last and final blow.
But then he suddenly sees Damian throwing something towards them, and Monoma instantly knew what it was. "Tsuburaba!" Monoma yelled out loud, as the male then started blowing once more, creating the air wall.
The smoke pellet hit the wall that Tsuburaba created, as the smoke then started dispersing, but since they were on the move, the smoke did not have much of an effect at all.
"Unsure what you were pla-" Monoma said just as they left the smoke, but suddenly some blue gel started hitting all four of them, they were all small individual bits. Monoma looked at some of the gel that got onto his arm, though he had quite a few stains on his shart, and the face.
"What is this? Hair Gel?" Monoma said before he burst out laughing. "I knew you were desperate but this?!" He said once more before looking up. Something changed on Damian, there was a single line of tape attached to his back, as Sero still held onto it.
Just as Damian expected, the smoke pellet was only a distraction, he started spraying the explosive gel right when the smoke started spreading, so that they had no way of seeing Damian spraying the gel in their direction for those few precious seconds, and no way to react. And when they finally got out of the smoke, it was already too late to do anything.
"NOW!" Damian yelled out as he then jumped up as high as he could towards Monoma. But just as he jumped he detonated the explosive gel, as the gel stains started popping all around their bodies. Since it was not a large dose, it could not do any major damage, and could only cause some powerful pops. But it will stun them for enough time so that Damian could carry out his attack.
Monoma's team got caught completely off guard by these small but powerful pops all over their body caused by the explosive gel. And when they looked back up, Damian was just barely away from reaching them.
Tsuburaba quickly reacted, as he started blowing again to create his signature air wall, so that Damian would get blocked by it.
Damian raised up his left arm as he saw the 1-B student creating the air wall again. Since he was so close and coming towards them so fast, the wall could not be created in time and reach its full power and size.
And just like that, with one powerful punch with his gauntlet on, Damian smashed through the forming Air Wall like it was just normal glass. Now, nothing was standing between him and Monoma.
Damian re-adjusted himself in the air, now coming towards Monoma legs first, so that he could land against his body for a split second, enough to grab his headbands.
Monoma quickly attempted to raise up his hand and blast Damian with the Explosion quirk he copied from Katsuki, but he was taken off guard as he felt Damian's legs pressing against his chest.
With one swift move, Damian grabbed both of Monoma's headbands, one around his forehead and one around his neck. With one last attack, he pushed himself off with all his might against Monoma, causing him to completely lose his balance, and fall to the ground.
As soon as Damian caught those headbands, Sero quickly pulled Damian back using the tape that was still attached to his back, having Damian safely land back onto his original position.
Kirishima, Sero, and Ojiro both let out a yell of excitement as soon as Damian landed back to his original position. Damian just smirked, as he wrapped the two headbands by his neck. Now Damian's team was in second place thanks to those two catches.
Monoma looked up as he raised his upper body from the ground, watching as Damian's team was running off victoriously with their two captured headbands. The male just gritted his teeth. "Wayne..." He said, growling in the process.
"Now we are in second place, and the only way to get into first...Is to snatch the headband from Midoriya. We have less than 5 minutes remaining, so we have to be quick about this." Damian said as he then switched his attention towards Izuku's team, who for now were all alone, the perfect prey.
Izuku and his team were running around, they were glad that they managed to avoid so many other teams, barely even managing to escape from their grasp. But they all suddenly stopped dead in their tracks, as they came face to face with Shoto Todoroki and his team.
"Looks like this won't end without a fight, he is gunning after you, Midoriya." Tokoyami said with dark shadow out, facing Todoorki is not exactly easy, especillay with the team he managed to form.
"We are almost there, only three minutes left! We need to keep moving." Izuku said, but then he noticed that there were multiple teams coming in from all sides, seems like they all also saw that there was little time left.
"Yaoyorozu, prepare the Insulator." Todoroki said as he looked down at the female, who just nodded slightly. "Kaminari, you-"
"Yeah, yeah, I know what to do. You just focus on them." Kaminari replied, he already knew what Todoroki was planning since he asked for the insulator.
When the other teams got close enough, and when the insulator was ready, Kaminari using his quirk unleashed 1.3 Million Volts all around him, shocking almost every team that was heading towards them.
Using his ice quirk, Todoroki then froze the ground all around them, freezing all the cavalry teams who were unfortunate enough to get in the radius of Kaminari's electric shock attack.
"We don't have much time remaining. Now, Ida!" Todoroki said as Ida just nodded his head and his team started charging towards Izuku and his team.
Damian saw Kaminari's electric attack while they were heading towards Izuku, fortunately they were far enough so it could not affect them. "Seems like we will have to watch out for Todoroki, they also seem to have good coordination." Damian said.
As they were making their way towards Todoorki and Midoriya, suddenly a sort of laser beam went right pass them, barely missing Sero. Damian quickly looked behind them to see who was causing this. 'Of Course...' He thought to himself.
"YOU MISSED YOU FRENCH BASTARD!" Bakugo said as he then Aoyama on the top of the head, causing the boy to flinch a bit.
"Is that Bakugo?" Kirishima asked as he looked behind him, seeing Katsuki yelling at Aoyama as he barely managed to miss them with their laser.
"Bakugo! Stop targeting them, we have less than two minutes left, we need to get Midoriya's headband!" Mina said from behind Katsuki, she was upset that he was giving into his rage and not thinking properly.
"Two minutes? That will be enough time to destroy this little shit stain for what he did to me in the last round, and take Deku down with him." Katsuki said in response, he was not going to let Damian off the hook after what he did.
"I don't have time for you and your little games!" Damian responded. It was clear that Katsuki was going after him with the intent of revenge, and was pretty determined to take him down. But with the little time they had left, he could not focus on him.
Damian and his team continued running towards Todoroki and Midoriya, hoping to at least take one of them by surprise, but then the points suddenly got updated.
"With just one minute left, Todoorki's got three headbands! He snatched Midoriya's headband, and with it, taking first place!" Present Mic announced.
Now Todoroki's team was in first place, with Damian's team being Second and Tetsutetsu's team being third place. For now, Damian had 1,560 Points with his four headbands. If he could only keep those points this last minute.
Katsuki also realized that there was little time left, and he had to step his game up, and pull off one risky move.
Katsuki then jumped up from the war horse towards Damian's team, as he then used his explosion quirk to start propelling himself towards them at incredible speed.
Damian's team quickly heard the sound of explosions coming from behind them, as Katsuki was heading towards them at high speed. When Katsuki was close enough, Ojiro quickly used his tail to hit him from the side and hopefully make him fall down.
Katsuki was too slow to react to Ojiro's tail, as he felt it hitting him from the side. But he quickly used his other arm to make another explosion, stopping himself from falling onto the ground and regaining balance. Fairly quickly, he then used both of his hands for one final push, as he blasted himself right next to Damian, and managing to snatch back his old headband, which Monoma managed to take from him earlier.
Katsuki could feel his explosions getting weaker and weaker every time he blasts himself forwards, so he made one last explosion, blasting himself behind and right onto his previous position on the warhorse, he let out a laugh of victory as he held the headband in his hands.
Damian was fairly surprised when he felt Katsuki taking the headband from him, that was so fast that even he could not react properly. Nevertheless, he only managed to take one headband, and it was not enough of a loss to push Damian from second place.
'Less than thirty seconds remaining, I am still in second place. But I'm not gonna allow him to have a sense of victory over me just yet, the ten million headband is a lost cause.' Damian thought to himself as he pulled out his grappling gun.
'He is still holding it in his hands, and is distracted with his little early victory celebration, buying me enough time to take it back, and surprise him.' Damian thought to himself once more, firing the grappling gun towards Katsuki, to try and snatch the headband.
Just as the claw was going to grab onto the headband, a loud 'Ding' sound was heard across the entire.
"TIME'S UP!" Midnight yelled out loud, signaling the end of the round. "Now let's see who the top five teams are right now!" She said once more.
"In first place, Team Todoroki! In second, Team Wayne! In third place, Team Bakugo! In fourth, we have Team Shinso! And in the last and final place, we have Team Midoriya!" Midnight yelled out loud, as the crowd started cheering.
Damian quickly jumped down from the warhorse as soon as Midnight announced the results. Second place was not all that bad, taking down Hagakure's team was very easy, while Monoma caused him some problems. But in the end, even if Katsuki took one of the headbands, he still managed to stay in second place.
"These five teams will proceed to the next and final event! We'll proceed to the afternoon portion after our one-hour break!" Midnight announced, as all the students started heading towards the exit to relax a bit and prepare for the final round.
Damian let out a slight sigh of relief as he was walking out. This round went a lot better than he originally expected, and his team would not have made it to second place if Kirishima, Sero, and Ojiro did not place their full trust in Damian's actions, and he was actually thankful to them for that.
But now, it was finally time to relax a bit. So they are about to enter the very last round of the festival. Damian got third place in the first round, and second place in the second round. He was aiming for the top three spots in the finale, and he was going to do everything in his power to get to that point.
One Hour Later
Lunch Break was finally over, and the students returned to the stadium for the very last round. No one really knew what this last round was going to be, since it always varied every year, but everyone was sure excited.
"Now that the break is finally over, onto the final event! Between the winning teams of the last round, we'll have a formal tournament! A series of One-on-One battles!" Present Mic announced with excitement.
Damian was not showing it visibly, but he was looking forward to these battles. In the last two rounds he never really did anything, but this time he was finally gonna show everyone what he was made up, and have his opponents humiliated in front of the entire nation.
"The matchups will be decided by drawing lots. Once that is settled, we will move onto the festivities and then the tournament itself! Now, let's start with the first place team." Midnight said as she was about to start off with Todoroki's team.
"Um...Excuse me. I...I would like to drop out." Mezo Shoji said as he raised up his arm, to which everyone then proceeded to look at him with full surprise.
"The cavalry battle...I have no memories of anything that happened up until the end. It's probably his quirk that did it." Shoji said as he then looked over towards Shinzo.
"I just...Don't think it is right. Everyone made it through with their own strength, while I don't even remember it." Shoji said as he used one of his arms to cover his face.
"I can't remember anything either, I wanna withdraw too" Nirengeki Shoda said also as he raised up his hand, causing others to look at him as well.
Damian was actually quite surprised by this, throwing away the entire festival just because of memory loss? He then looked over at Shinzo, who did not look like he cared at all. 'What did he do to them?' Damian asked himself.
"How naive...I LOVE IT!" Midnight yelled out as she heard the two of them dropping out, this was the first time anyone had done something like this.
"Shoda and Shoji are officially out of the tournament! Now seems like we will have to find some replacements. Replacing those two will be two members from team Tetsutetsu who scored sixth!" Midnight announced enthusiastically.
"Now that this is over, let us now get to the matchups!" Midnight announced as the screen then started showing all of the matchups in the last round.
Damian quickly then started reading the names, to see who he will be up against, and that is when he saw it.
'Mina Ashido, huh?' He thought to himself. If he remembered correctly, that must be that pink girl in his class. So he was gonna go up against Mina Ashido first, but he quickly focused his attention on the names next to him, to see who he will be up against if one of them won.
His eyes widened up a bit as he saw one of the names next to him, and it quickly turned into a smirk. If this student managed to win his battle, he will be an exciting opponent for Damian next after Mina Ashido.
