Mikey was bored, like really bored. They were on patrol and nothing even a little exciting had happened, no one causing trouble on the streets or any new villain rearing their ugly heads. He'd tried doing his usual teasing towards his brothers and attempts at playing games like 'I spy', but that had gotten dull really quick. He wished he'd brought his skateboard or something, Leo might get mad at him for getting so distracted, but he rarely ever did anything beyond giving him a lecture and it would give him something to do.

He could tell the others were feeling it too, Donnie had asked for his kusarigama to jump rope with (wished he'd thought of it before giving it to him) which he only did when he was bored out of his mind. Raph was standing with his arms crossed over his chest, glaring as he watched the streets and obviously itching for a fight. Leo was trying to mask it, but Mikey could see the growing frustration in his eyes.

Nights like this had become more common now that they didn't have to worry about the Kraang or Foot Clan's schemes. Even the Purple Dragons rarely popped up anymore. He was honestly starting to wonder why they even bothered to keep going out on patrol...

Wait a second! Mikey noticed some people looking awfully shady near a museum he could spot from his place on the rooftop, while his brothers were looking in the exact opposite direction. "Guys! Look!" He called out before pointing in the direction of the museum. "There's some people acting really weird over here."

The others practically rushed over to look at where he was pointing.

Donnie's face lit up with excitement. "Oh! That's the 'Museum of All Ages' building, it opened up only recently, but I've heard that it contains some of the most diverse and rarest artifacts and literature that any other museum can hardly compare to!" He explained, voice making it clear to Mikey that this was a place Donnie really wished he'd get the chance to visit. "While I'm sure that there is some overexaggeration in the advertisements, I'm still very curious about what they really have in there..."

"Yeah, yeah Donnie." Raph interrupted, looking with a fierce eagerness at the group near the museum. "Let's just go down there and give those guys a beatdown!"

"Wait a sec Raph. We need to make sure they are actually doing something wrong." Leo said, placing a hand on Raph's shoulder.

Raph rolled his eyes, but begrudgingly did as he was told.

Then one of the figures appeared to be trying to pick the lock.

"Now we can give them a beatdown." Leo said, a bit of amusement in his voice as he let Raph go. The red masked turtle practically threw himself at the group of criminals with his brothers quickly following.

The group were all men who looked at the turtles in panic, before a loud click signaled that the door had been unlocked and all of them ran inside the museum.

"Hey!" Leo called out with a frustrated tone before addressing his brothers. "Come on! We need to stop them before they steal or break something!" he said to the others before they all ran inside the building after the assumed thieves.

Mikey was excited, not only were they going to beat up some bad guys, but they'd be doing it in a museum! While he wasn't the kind of guy that was interested in all the info and 'lost knowledge' stuff like Donnie was, museums still had a lot of cool stuff. "You guys think they got dinosaurs in here? Oh, maybe they've got mummies!" He asked as they entered the museum and went to where the exhibits were kept.

"Well, my research made it seem like this museum is mostly focused on objects like artwork, books, clothing..." Donnie trailed off as he wandered a bit closer to a small clay statue and started reading the label for it.

"Guys, we need to focus on finding and stopping the thieves, not treat this like a field trip!" Leo whispered-yelled, trying to keep to the shadows of the room as he glanced around to see if he could find any sign of the people that broke in.

Then a shot rang out in the room, hitting and breaking the glass of the clay statue's case and making Donnie jump back in shock.

"Of course they've got guns." Raph grumbled, before he and the others hid behind a few pedestals. They hid just in time before the rest of the thieves started firing, damaging several artifacts in the process. "What's the plan?" he asked Leo.

"Figure out where they're firing from and try to make our way over there without getting caught." Leo quickly answered.

Mikey risked a glance past the pedestal he was hiding behind, quickly noticing that someone was trying to sneak their way towards one of the glass cases containing a crown, also moving behind pedestals so he didn't get hit by the gunfire from the rest of his group. The person was clearly looking at the crown inside the case, maybe that's what they came here to steal?

Well, he wasn't going to let that happen.

He quickly glanced at each of the other pedestals and any other potential thing he could hide behind, mentally mapping out a path that would let him quickly stop the thief. Then he followed that path, moving between each pedestal within seconds. He caught sight of his brothers trying to make their way to the other thieves, sometimes giving him panicked looks when a bullet came a bit too close to hitting him or when he had to try and navigate some glass covered parts of the floor from the broken cases.

Eventually he reached the case holding the crown, which was currently being lifted up by the one thief that reached it. The thief quickly threw the glass case away upon seeing him and attempted to grab the crown, Mikey quickly grabbed for the crown too and the two stared at each other.

"Let go!" The thief shouted before roughly pulling at the crown.

"Not happening!" Mikey said, taking a exaggerated look at the shiny crown made of gold with a large green gem in the center, then at the thief who was dressed in all black. "It doesn't look like your style anyway." He mocked as he started to also pull at the crown.

"This isn't a game! This crown has power that doesn't belong to a freak like you!" The thief shouted again as he was struggling to win the sudden tug-of-war for the crown.

"Well, I don't think it belongs to you either!" Mikey countered, now feeling irritated at the 'freak' remark. "You guys are the ones trying to steal it, not-Woah!"

Both Mikey and the thief threw the crown up in panic as they ducked down to avoid the bullet that was sent their way.

"Mikey!" He heard each of his brothers shout in panic.

The thief glared at a pedestal, the one Mikey guessed the other thieves were hiding behind. "Idiots! You almost shot me!"

Mikey was about to move to try and take the thief down, but he hesitated when he felt metal touch the top of his head. Then the loud sound of trumpets filled his head, it was a little disorienting despite how almost cheerful it sounded. He shook his head once the noise died down and flinched when he saw the barrel of a gun pointed right at his head.

"Take it off." The thief growled, the look in his eyes being a mix of panic and rage.

"Wha?" He mumbled before touching the metal object on his head, the crown. It must've fallen onto him.

"Get away from him!" Raph shouted, throwing caution to the wind and rushing over to where Mikey and the thief were with Leo coming right behind him. Donnie's eyes widened and he reached one arm out as he helplessly watched the two endanger themselves.

The world seemed to shift into slow motion as Mikey turned his eyes towards his brothers, his heart racing as he tried to think of a way out of this situation. He heard another gunshot ring out.

He saw the bullet heading straight for Leo's head.

Mikey wasn't nearly as scared as he should be. He had a gun to his head and he only had seconds before his big brother's head got popped like a balloon, yet he felt calm. It was as if he had some new sense of confidence and power settling inside. So he reached for that new power and...

Leo found a water balloon splashing against his head. He suddenly stopped in his run due to struggling to process what just happened, looking around in confusion before being hit by another water balloon and glaring in the direction of the pedestal the group of thieves were hiding behind. The thieves, for their part, let out a mix of confused, frustrated and scared sounds.

Mikey felt a water balloon hit his own face, prompting him to turn his gaze back to the thief that had been holding him at gunpoint. The man's face looked extremely panicked as he looked at his gun, before his expression shifted to one of anger. He threw his gun away before attempting to lunge at the turtle.

Then Raph ran into the man and pinned him to the wall, looking like he wanted to kill him.

"Thanks for the save bro!" Mikey called out happily, standing up again as Leo reached them.

Leo looked both concerned and confused, "Mikey, are you okay?"

He smiled back at his brother. "I'm great!" He reassured before quickly looking at Raph and the thief again. "Can you hold that guy for just a bit longer Raph? I wanna see if I can..." He trailed off as he concentrated on what he wanted to do now.

Raph gave him a confused look over his shoulder, before a sudden loud *pop* and a cloud of brightly colored smoke enveloped the thief. All eyes were on the man as the smoke cleared, revealing him to now be tied up in a rainbow of ribbons. Raph let him go, an extremely baffled expression on his face. The man let out what sounded like muffled ranting as he struggled against the binds.

"What the heck?" Raph asked out loud before turning to Mikey and Leo.

Leo was incredibly surprised and confused, before something clicked in his head. "Mikey, how are you doing this?" His tone was a mix of curiosity and nervousness.

Mikey gestured to the crown on his head. "I guess it's this crown thing, the thief said something about how it 'has power that doesn't belong to a freak'." He answered, his voice taking a mocking tone when he quoted what the thief had said. His eyes widened as he looked at something going on behind Leo. "Oh no you don't!" He said before making finger guns at what he was seeing and 'shooting' them.

Leo quickly turned around just as another loud *pop* could be heard. He saw Donnie jump back a little bit, having come out of his hiding place and making his way towards the rest of them. Behind his brother was another colorful smoke cloud that quickly dissipated to reveal all the other thieves now tied up with the same ribbons as the first one.

Mikey then teleported himself to the now bound group of thieves, bouncing around them mockingly as he laughed, caught up in the energy of his newfound power. "Thought you guys could just sneak outta here like it was nothing? Not with the all-powerful Mikey on the case, fool!"

"Okay Mikey, I think it's time to take the crown off and put it back where it was." Leo said, as he walked up to where his baby brother was now. He was followed by Raph, who carried the first thief and promptly dropped him among his bound group, and Donnie, who looked at the crown with extreme curiosity.

"What!? No way, what if someone else comes to steal it and we're not here to stop 'em!?" Mikey questioned, pouting as he placed a hand protectively on the crown.

"We came here to stop some thieves from stealing stuff, not to steal things for ourselves!" Leo insisted, giving his baby brother a no-nonsense look.

"He has a point, Leo." Donnie interjected, earning a bewildered look from his older brother. "I mean, we don't know what this crown is capable of. While Mikey has a bit of a wild imagination, I think it's better in his hands than say...Don Vizioso." He explained, his voice dripping with venom as he said the mob boss' name before continuing. "Besides, I'm a bit curious about just what the crown is and how it works. Is it pure magic, some disguised alien tech that was left on Earth, I'd like to know."

"Don's right. Besides, do you really wanna pass on a chance of having something that might be able to take down any new bad guys that show up?" Raph said, now seeming a bit excited to see what the crown was capable of too.

Leo glanced between each of them, looking conflicted. After staring at Mikey and the crown for a long moment, his baby brother giving him the classic puppy dog eyes, he sighed. "Fine, we'll take the crown with us. Just don't do anything too crazy with it, okay Mikey?"

"Yes!" Mikey shouted excitedly, pumping his fists into the air. He then turned to look at the destruction the thieves' had caused in the room. "Hocus Fix-this!" He said, and with a snap of his fingers everything went back to how it was before the whole thing happened. There was even a replica of the crown in its case.

"Oh-Okay, let's...let's grab the thieves and find a place for the police to find them, then we'll go home." Leo said, still looking nervous despite feeling the fact that Mikey was just using the crown to fix the place, which wasn't a bad thing to use it.

Him, Raph and Donnie started getting ready to carry the thieves out when a giant bubble promptly enveloped the bound group. "Don't worry dudes, I can take care of that too!" Mikey explained as he guided the bubbled thieves to the entrance with his confused brothers following close behind.

Mikey hummed as they left the building, his mind buzzing with all the things he could do with his new powers.
