Chapter 13: THE WAGES OF WAR
A/N: War arc diverges from canon!
"We have another one!" a nurse shouted.
Immediately Hinata was in front of them instructing them on where to put thier patient down. Hinata held her breath as the scent of blood met her nose. A pair of terrified eyes and blood-curdling screams filled her vision The man before her, had a collapsed lung and two broken legs.
Hinata worked on him quickly and then it was on to the next one.
The war was raging, and it was only day 2. The tent was full of injured shinobi, some passing out from exhaustion and some so beaten and bloody that they wouldn't make it through the night. Hinata could only do her best to make them comfortable, and yet there were plenty of shinobi that she refused to give up on. Some would never be ninjas again, but they would be alive.
"Hyuga Hinata! We need you outside!" A guard shouted.
Hinata was quick to leave her post and approach the guard.
"Hyuga Hinata! You are being assigned to help the intelligence division!"
Hinata paled but kept her focus.
Right now, it was her turn to protect her comrades.

Hinata hissed as She wrapped her arms around Ino's backside as she activated her Byakugan.
"Mind transer byakugan jutsu!" Ino shouted.
It was then the two women worked together, for Ino to connect with the whole battlefield.
"Hinata your a lifesaver!" Ino shouted happily as she could now hear and see the whole battlefield.

As soon as she was done Hinata had been given orders to head to the front line.
"Hinata!" someone called tiredly.
Hinata turned her head to an exhausted Choji, dark circles under his eyes and blood pouring from his leg.
Rushing to his side, she quickly healed his leg without a thought.
"Thanks, Hinata! Off I go."
"Medic!" someone shouted. Without a moment's rest, Hinata was off again.

Madara roared in frustration. All his defenses have been broken down and to make it worse, his most trusted men betrayed him. Especially Sasuke Uchiha. How could he not have known the child was a double agent? Stealing all his secrets and giving them to kohona. And don't get him started on Obito. Madara saw red as he forced the ten tails to launch another attack. This time, this one made an impact.

"NEJI! LORD HIASHI!" Naruto screamed as the ten-tailed attack sent flying spikes.
The Hyuga gathered together to protect him and to his horror, Neji and Lord hiashi were hit. "NO! MEDIC! I NEED A MEDIC!" Naruto cried out as he held up Neji. Lord hiashi fell to the ground.
"Naruto." Neji coughed as blood poured from his mouth. "It's no use. I-"
"Neji! Father!" A soft and yet urgent voice rang out.
Naruto turned and to his surprise, there was Hinata.
"Hinata! No! What are you doing here? You have to go! You'll be killed! Where's gamatatsu!?"
"Naruto Uzumaki! I need you to be quiet! I am a medical ninja and I have a job to do! Your job is to get us through this war! Now focus!"
With that said, Hinata got to work, trying not to panic because the stakes were high.
Hinata put forth all her energy into healing the two men.
"Hinata! Here take some of my chakra!" Naruto urged.
Hinata did so and thanked God when her cousin and father began to breathe normally again. The holes in thier chests shrinking to nonexistent.
As she continued to heal them, Madara began an evil speech that for some strange reason began to penetrate Naruto's resolve. Causing her friend to become more depressed by the minute.
In a fit of anger, Hinata raised her hand and slapped Naruto out of it.
"Naruto! Get your head in the game! He's not worth it! We have a war to win! Look around you! Look how many comrades have fallen! Thier deaths will not be in vain!"
Naruto stared at Hinata before his resolve kicked it. He then stood with a renewed strength in his heart.
"You're right hinata! We can do this! All of us! Togtaher! Cause that's our ninja way!" he exclaimed as he gestured towards his comrades behind him.
"Dobe! Are you done now? I think a lot of us want to go home." A familiar voice shouted above him.
All eyes look to the sky to see Sasuke Uchiha standing on a snake and beside him to everyone's shock was Itachi Uchiha.
"It's the Uchiha brothers!" everyone began to whisper.
At the same time, Sakura and Kakashi appeared next to Naruto.
"Need an extra hand?" Kakashi aksed.
"You bet I do! Alright, everybody! Let's end this war!"
It was then Naruto made a few hand signs, covering everyone on the battlefield with glowing red chakra.
"LETS DO THIS!"

Hinata collapsed next to a nearby boulder as she allowed a smile to shine on her face.
The war was over and everyone had come out alive. While some lost a few limbs, nothing could take away from the fact that while they lost a few comrades, the ones close to their hearts were still alive and breathing. Hinata was very grateful that her father and cousin were going to pull through.
Just a few more hours and we can go home. Hinata thought to herself as she rested her hand on her protruding belly. She was grateful for the flat jacket as it was big enough to cover her, however, Hinata unzipped it so she could have a little bit of breathing room.
A tight painful feeling made Hinata sit up.
"Oh dear.." she groaned.
"Hinata? Hey, what's up?" Kiba called as he and Akamaru jogged over to her. They had to spend a few more hours clearing the battlefield before they went home and Hinata decided to take a break.
Seeing something was wrong, Shino joined Kiba next to her.
"Nothing. Nothing. Just a little pain."
"Hey Hinata? Why do you smell funny?" Kiba asked.
Hinata however blushed and waved her teammate away.
" it's nothing Kiba kun. I'm fine. Let's finish helping the others clean up."
As she stood, Hinata felt another wave of pain pulse through her.
"Argh." Bella groaned as she doubled over. To make matters worse something wet was beginning to seep down her legs.
"What the Hinata? I smell blood! Your bleeding."
Hinata's " eyes widened as she laid a hand on her belly.
"K-kiba…" gasp " s-Shino" gasp "get help" gasp "… get… get Itachi-"
And then Hinata saw black.

Shino was quick to catch his teammate before she hit the ground. At the same time, two former Akatsuki members appeared next to them.
"Lady Hinata!" a female called out. Instead of their former Akatsuki garb, they wore ninja-standard clothing.
"What happened?" she asked as she began to examine his comrade.
"She was having stomach pain and she's bleeding. She asked us to get-"
The woman suddenly turned to the man next to her and said " KISAME! GO FIND ITACHI NOW! I am going to rush Lady Hinata to the medic tent!"
With that said, she then turned to Shino.
"Lay her down, I am going to fly her over. It will be quicker."
Shino laid Hinata down as the women began to make hand signs that wrapped his friend in paper.
"Flying paper jutsu."
And then they were gone.
"Kiba. I think we should get to the medical tent. All of this feels strange."
"It does, doesn't it? Hinata smelled funny before but something wasn't right. Let's go."

Itachi smiled as he sat on the ground next to his brother with Naruto on the other side. The Three of them had fought a long and hard battle. The latter feels weak and has a horrible migraine from overuse of his sharigan.
He glanced up as he saw his brother's sensei and teammate dropdown.
"Sasuke! Naruto!" she shouted as she ran to them. She hesitated for a moment as she eyed him but then began her work of healing the two men.
"Thanks, sakura!" Naruto cheered.
"Sakura… I'm sorry." Sasuke told her.
Ah, so Sakura was her name. Itachi thought. This girl had a thing for his brother, he could see that from a distance. The question was however did Sasuke have a thing for her?
"You idiot!" she cried "Of course you are."
Itachi looked at his brother and he couldn't help but feel bad for the pink-haired girl. It seemed Sasuke held a lot of admiration for the girl but there was no love. There was no deep care.
But he did see it when Sasuke looked at Naruto. There was a brotherly affection, a bond that ran deep.
"Itachi?" Sasuke questioned as he looked his way.
Itachi smiled as he looked down at his little brother.
"Thank you." Sasuke's voice cracked as tears formed in his eyes. "All of you…thank you."
Before Itachi could reply, Kisame appeared on a wave of water.
"ITACHI!"
"Kisame? What is it? Wheres-"
"It's Hinata! We have to go"
Itachi was gone in the blink of an eye.
