Power Rangers: Aqours Force

Synopsis – Power Rangers, but Love Live.

Aqours Force:

Chika - Aqours Red, uses a sword that can be split down the middle into identical twin sabers

You - Aqours Blue, wields two chakrams and uses them in both melee and for throwing

Kanan - Aqours Green, either uses claws or dual tonfas

Dia - Aqours Black, hefts a powerful naginata

Ruby - Aqours Pink, Akimbo blaster pistols that shoot concentrated beams of love and peace

Guilty Kiss:

Mari - the whimsical evil overlord; primary minions are Shiny Ohalions (sea lion esque minions?)

Yoshiko / Yohane - the evil, overdramatic lieutenant with Little Demon minions

Riko - the evil, serious lieutenant who actually gets evil shit done; her minions are the Petals of the Storm / Blossoms of the Hurricane

Other:

Hanamaru - a librarian; Ruby's best friend; eventually levels up as the Yellow Ranger; probably uses a bo staff

Prologue:

Everything changed when the Earth was struck by the Arctic Shower.

Emerging from deep space, hundreds upon thousands of icy capsules rained down from the stellar heavens to impact upon the planet, a catastrophic phenomenon that was impossible to detect and impossible to affect. The Shower was concentrated perfectly to strike the planet, its duration equally impossible as it delivered its frigid payload to the Earth in droves, managing to blanket the world with a layer of ice. The destruction was massive. But the worst was yet to come.

When dawn broke on the first of the craters, the ice began to melt.

The flooding was massive. With the amount of ice added to the Earth, the sea level began to rise at alarming rates, and it wasn't long before humanity realized: there would be no land left for them to live, for soon the oceans would cover even the highest of peaks.

But there was more, for embedded within the fragments of ice were alien creatures, aquatic and alive, if hibernating. When the ice fully melted, the Earth's ecosystem would be at the mercy of these otherworldly invaders.

And so humanity constructed Atlantis: a monstrously massive megalopolis that would serve as humanity's ark, floating along the currents of the new Great Ocean as it kept its people safe within.

For the most part, it has succeeded. But cracks are beginning to appear, both in the city and in the society it shelters.

The problem lies not with the vast corporate entities that control Atlantis, for these are but a simple fact of life for the denizens of humanity's final bastion. In the city's core, all is well. In the outskirts, all is not.

There are whispers of a shadowy cabal of radicals who seek to use the alien fauna for their own sinister ends, whatever they may be. In the dark and disused corridors of Atlantis's outer districts, mobs of minions march to seize territory from law enforcement and the local gangs that lay claim to those territories. With everything they've seized and the methods at their disposal, who knows what diabolical purposes they intend to inflict upon Atlantis?

The only thing known is their name: Guilty Kiss.

In the labyrinthine confines of Atlantis, only one group dares to oppose Guilty Kiss. Clad in energized armor and powered by morphogenic matrices, this advanced group stands as the pinnacle of humanity, fighting the battle no one else will.

They are the Power Rangers.

They are Aqours Force.

AN: Yes, the setting is basically Rapture from Bioshock.

The plot would've followed a typical episode, wherein the villains make trouble, the rangers show up to stop them, the villains escalate with a giant monster, and the rangers respond in kind.

They have Megazord battles outside the city, where their giant Megazord fends off deep sea alien creatures. This also helps explain the total lack of collateral damage.

SCENE 1:

"They've summoned a creature from the deep!" called Kanan as a monster not unlike a giant jellyfish entered the battle.

The monster's sacs of light began to charge with bio-luminescence before it suddenly hurled bolts of electrical power through the water at the Aqours Subs.

"Sub 5 is hit!" reported Ruby, isolating the affected systems to prevent the damage from spreading. "Only minor damage though. I'm okay!"

"I'll show that disgusting thing not to hurt my sister!" snarled Dia as she began her attack run. Dodging and weaving the various attacks aimed at her, Aqours Sub 4 lit up a trail of weapons fire across the giant jellyfish's cap. But there was no effect.

"Our weapons are ineffective! We can't fight like this!" exclaimed You.

"Then we only have one option," declared Chika. "Aqourszord! Assemble!"

And then, in a sequence ripped straight from a sentai series, the five sub-aquatic vehicles transformed, fusing together to create an underwater mecha.

In the shared, studio-sized piloting area, the five Aqours Rangers posed dramatically in perfect synchronicity as they loudly chorused, "Aqourszord, Splash!"

SCENE 2:

As the Aqours Rangers fought the monster, the members of Guilty Kiss beat a hasty retreat, their plan having to remain unfulfilled for the time being.

"Ne, Riri? When did you summon that thing?" asked Yoshiko.

"...I didn't," admitted the redhead.

"What?! Then why did it come here?"

Riko waved off her concern dismissively. "I'm sure Mari called it in when it became obvious that things weren't going as planned. She always has an ace up her sleeve."

"She could've at least mentioned it," muttered Yoshiko. She gasped as an alternate explanation occurred to her. "Or maybe it had heard of the gospel of Yohane and wished to pledge itself as a Little Demon!"

Riko let out a dry noise of amused disbelief. "Perhaps."

Meanwhile, deep in the darkened confines of Guilty Kiss HQ, Mari hummed curiously as she looked over the situation outside.

"Well now. Isn't that interesting? I wonder when Yoshiko and Riko learned to do that..."

SCENE 3:

With the three members of Guilty Kiss bound before them, it made no sense that a new monster appeared on radar.

"What is that thing?" wondered Chika.

"Scanners say it's some kind of... cybernetically-enhanced whale?" replied You.

"It's being identified as the Orca Mega-Fortress of Darkness," observed Kanan.

"Wha-?! How did you manage to get another one of your giant monsters to aid you?" demanded Dia.

For a few seconds, there was only silence, before Yoshiko lowly murmured, "So, do you wanna tell them or should I?"

"Tell us what?" snapped Aqours Black. The smallest member of Guilty Kiss shrunk into herself as best she could, which really wasn't much.

"I'll tell them," volunteered Mari with a sigh. "The thing is... we've never summoned those creatures. We just take advantage of the situation when they show up."

Silence fell on the Rangers as they took that in.

"But if that's true, then... there's something out there that's worse, isn't there?" concluded Ruby quietly.

Just then, a massive burst of sound erupted from every speaker on Atlantis as the giant whale began a transmission.

"People of Atlantis! I am Kazuno Seira, Descendant of the Marine Emperor, overlord of this entire solar system, and the architect of the meteor shower that sundered your planet so. Surrender your sovereignty and bow to me. Or perish in the crushing depths of the watery abyss. You have one hour to make your decision."

SCENE 4: Hanamaru's Ascension

"Ruby is too big to fit into this experimental, overpowered zord! If only she was one centimeter shorter!"

"I guess this is it then. Where can we possibly find a purehearted maiden with a height of less than 154cm?!"

"...Actually," ventured Ruby as all eyes turned to her, "I know a girl..."

Later...

"MIRAI ZURA!"

"Man, can you imagine what she'll be like once she gets fully acclimated? She'll have the power to destroy the world and the knowledge to use it!"

"What's this? MIRAI ZURA!"

"Maru-chan, those are windshield wipers..."

"Thankfully, that day is a long way away."
