Right after his latest victory over Sephiroth, as he watches the final Remnants joining the Lifestream once more, Cloud is taken down in a desperate strike. As he feels his own conscious merging with the Lifestream, an unlikely ally arrives in a...colorful manner.

Sephiroth had become so familiar with others avoiding his eyes that he'd taken up the habit himself.

A/U: There were seven years between the two, and Rufus and Tseng's relationship had started as that of protector and protected. Even though Tseng viewed the young heir as a spoiled lad, he was about to find out that the years Rufus had been away at school had matured him in ways that Tseng had not expected or anticipated.

Aerith and Sephiroth found unlikely solitude and enjoyment toward one another. Throughout their journey across the world, they established a secret bonding, growing past enemies to friends. However, when that last battle nears Sephiroth realizes... friendship isn't what they share anymore nor had it ever.
