Far, far away, in a beautiful kingdom known as the Mushroom Kingdom, there was a town, a town known as Toad Town. This town was inhabited by creatures known as Toads, but there is one Toad in particular that this story will be focusing on. Toadette.

Toadette was a friendly Toad who actually happened to be friends with the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach, along with the Mushroom Kingdom's heroes, Mario and Luigi, although her best friend was a Toad named… Toad, who she lived next to.

And, as Toadette awoke one day, she never knew that that would be the day that the Mushroom Kingdom would need HER and her friend's help from the clutches of evil.

As Toadette awoke that morning, she got out of bed, and did her morningly routine. Toad Town, as the big town it is, was already completely awake when she was making breakfast. She could hear a bustling street of Toads trying to get to work, and even castle guards making their way to the castle (which she actually happened to live nearby) right outside her door. As Toadette started putting syrup on her pancakes, she heard the joyous voice of Toad, her neighbor.

"Hey, Toadette!" he said, poking his head out of his window. Toadette's morningly highlight was always talking to Toad in the morning as she ate breakfast.

"Hey, Toad! How's it going?" asked Toadette.

"It's going pretty well! I'm really happy it's the weekend. I need a day off from studying for a bit." said Toad. Toad absolutely HATED school. On the contrary, Toadette took school very seriously. She would spend the rest of her school day when she got home studying.

"C'mon, life isn't JUST studying. Actually have some fun and enjoy yourself every once and a while" Toad would always say.

"I am enjoying myself. And I'm sorry if I kinda want to pass the 'History of the Mushroom Kingdom' unit test." Toadette would always respond. Once Toadette thought about it, she really had nothing to do on the weekend, although, there sometimes would be a rare occurrence where Toadette would be invited to go on adventures with Mario and his friends every once and a while, but very rarely. After all, they mostly invite Toad instead, along with two other Toads she slightly knew named Ala-Gold and Bucken Berry.

"I'm probably going to head over to the cafe nearby and get a cup of coffee later. What about you?" asked Toad. Toadette thought for a bit.

"Yeah, I might join you. I'll think about it, though." said Toadette. Toad's face looked less joyous now, more unsure.

"You're not going to bail me out, are you?" asked Toad.

"N–no, of course not! Why would I bail you out?" asked Toadette. Toad's face became less unsure now.

"Ok, then" he said, then closing his window. Toadette continued to eat her food until she was finished, then she turned on the news.

"Hello, residents of the Mushroom Kingdom. Welcome to Mushroom Kingdom news! We are presenting you with a news story today of a mysterious person in purple stirring up trouble in Toad Town. He was reported to be doing things such as electrocuting Toads, and yelling at them for obedience," said the TV. This news slightly scared Toadette, so she decided to turn the TV off. Toadette then remembered that she had a cake that she had made for Princess Peach, so she decided that she would run that over to her.

Toadette made her way to Peach's Castle, but then she realised something. The Toad guards weren't standing tall, ready to ask her to present her identity, instead, they were… asleep on the ground. She slightly nudged one of them, but they wouldn't move. Scared, she decided to just go inside the castle instead.

When she entered, she thought that she would be greeted with a bunch of people like she normally is, but when she entered there was no one. The castle was empty, but she then realised that she could hear talking from the room up the stairs. She progressed up the stairs, and then she saw Princess Peach, Toadsworth, and the guy wearing purple that she saw on the news talking to the princess. He was holding some sort of staff. This man looked… familiar… she just couldn't remember where she had seen him other than the news. As there was a conversation going on, the princess then noticed Toadette.

"Toadette? What are you doing here? I told everyone in here to evacuate the castle because of this stranger entering the town and hurting toads." said Peach.

"I was going to deliver you this cake, but… what's going on?" asked Toadette, handing Peach the cake. She then saw Toadsworth take the cake, and take it into the kitchen.

"I honestly have no idea," said Peach "This guy just walked into the castle and said that it's his time to shine." Peach said, pointing to the man.

"Yes," the man finally spoke up, "Finally, this kingdom will know my name! No one will forget the name… of WALUIGI!" Toadette finally remembered where she knew this guy. He appeared… a few times, sometimes to play sports, also occasionally to race karts.

"Wait… Waluigi!? I remember you… You're Wario's brother," said Peach, "But I'm sorry, you're going to have to get out. You've been hurting my Toads, and I'm not a fan of it."

Toadette just stood there and watched.

"Oh… well, I'm sorry about that, princess…" said Waluigi. Suddenly, Waluigi held up the staff he had been holding and made a circle motion with it a few times. Suddenly, purple vines wrapped around the princess completely trapping her.

"Ahh! What are you DOING!?" asked the princess, all wrapped up in these purple, glowing vines.

"You're trapped, princess. Now you can no longer get in the way of my plans!" said Waluigi. Suddenly, Toadsworth walked out from the kitchen.

"Sorry I spent so long in there. I'll tell you I was NOT trying any of the cake– PRINCESS!" said Toadsworth.

Waluigi looked at Toadsworth, and waved his staff, wrapping Toadsworth in vines as well.

"Haha! Princess… your Toads have a new ruler… ME!" Waluigi said, holding his wand in the air for effect.

"HEY! LET THEM GO!" yelled Toadette as she was about to storm towards Waluigi.

"Ah! A little pest, hm? Well then…" Waluigi waved his wand, and Toadette was bracing herself to be wrapped up in vines as well, but what hit her was much worse. A giant purple beam hit her, sending her all the way outside of Toad Town where she lay unconscious for a little while.

"Hey… are you ok?" Toadette heard a voice echoing as she woke up. She then was greeted with two Toads, one blue and one yellow. She recognised them. The blue one was Bucken Berry, and the yellow one was Ala-Gold.

"Y-yeah… I'm fine" said Toadette as she got up. She didn't remember much of what happened in the last 15 minutes.

"We heard something was happening in Toad Town," said Bucken Berry.

"Yeah, is everything all right?" asked Ala-Gold

Toadette suddenly remembered everything with Waluigi.

"No, Toad Town's in trouble!" She said "A guy named Waluigi has incapacitated Toadsworth and the princess, and-" suddenly a purple barrier went around Toad Town and the entire town started floating off the ground.

"Next stop, Toad Town's new location; Diamond City! WAHAHAHAHA!" said Wario's voice coming from all the town speakers. Toadette tried to run up and jump onto Toad Town, but it was no use. Waluigi's reign of terror had only just begun, too. Bucken Berry and Ala-Gold stand in shock behind Toadette.

"Oh no… our home is gone…" said Toadette, "All my friends are gone! How could this happen?" Toadette said.

"Oh goodness…" said Ala-Gold. Suddenly, Bucken Berry's face of shock turned into a face of determination.

"We have to get our home back!" said Bucken Berry

"What!? How!?" said Ala-Gold.

"Y'know what… you're right," said Toadette. "We can't just let Waluigi take our home away! And who knows what he'll do to the citizens and the princess. And Mario and Luigi… wait, where are Mario and Luigi?" said Toadette

"Uhh, I heard they're all the way in the Sand Kingdom, but you're right. Besides, we know where Waluigi's going!" said Ala-Gold.

"Yeah… but there's also this huge trench where Toad Town used to be…" said Bucken Berry.

"Then we'll… walk around it!" said Toadette. "Trust me, I know Toad Town quite well, and we can walk around it if we start out by going west."

"Alright then… wow, another journey! A journey to get back Toad Town." said Bucken Berry. As Toadette heard those words, she felt happier. She was going on another journey, an adventure! That rarely happens.

"Alright… fine… we'll simply… walk around Toad Town!" said Ala-Gold.

"Sorry about him, he's had a bad day today." Bucken Berry said to Toadette

"I can relate… y'know… on account of our entire home being stolen by some lanky guy in purple."

The three heroes walked off in the horizon, going west, hopefully to walk around the giant crater where Toad Town was and get their home back. What other dangers, mysteries, and friends will our heroes encounter on their journey? Find out next time! To be continued…
