Welcome all to my newest and brand new fanfic, Yugioh: Tournament of The Sands! In this story we'll see if a young lady can duel her way to the top of a tournament based in her home town and win against many other decks and see if the area is holding any kind of secret from below. Now for the rules of the story. I will be using all of the current OCG/TCG rules of the game the only difference i'm doing is the Pendulum Zones will have their own slots and not take up two Spell or Trap Zones and the max number cards for a Extra Deck for this story will be 20. I'm using both the current OCG/TCG banlists (OCG Current: January 2025) - (TCG Current: January 2025) and combine them to make one list for the story (I will use banned cards if I have to and will update the story to use the newest ban list changes when I have to). Link and Pendulum monsters will be seen and I'm going to try to use decks I've never used before to make this a very fun story. I will also use cards made by myself, other writers and cards that are only in the manga and anime as well. Also, I'll be using American names, but if the Japanese names are better (Destiny Hero and Sin monsters for example) are better, I'll use the japanese ones. Also, when I use a "Hero" monster, It'll stay as Hero instead of the TCG way of HERO and also, for cards that are created by me and others, I'll put in GY instead of graveyard. Like with my other current story, the way I'm doing lifepoint counters will be like the ones in that story. With all of this said and done, let's get this story started! Like all of my stories, this story will be dedicated to my wonderful and loving mother who sadly passed away on September 1st, 2021 and is now in the heavens with her brother that passed on in 2023 and their other sisters that passed on in 2023 and 2024 as well. This is for you all! Let's get going! Also, this story takes place 25 years after the ending/events of the Saints Row reboot had came to a end.

The great desert City of Santo Ileso has been through a lot in the years. Back in the early 2020s, a violet gang battles against the gangs called The Saints, Los Panteros, The Idols and a defense group known as Marshall waged war against one another. Thanks to the Saints, each gang and Marshall were defeated and their gangs disbanded from the city and most left to start a new life and then the Saints took over the city. About 30 years after that, the Saints all left with their 4 leaders left the city to start a new life on the east coast. a lady known as The Boss, two guys named Kevin and Eli and a woman named Neemah all left and they were the best of friends. Their old HQ Tower set unused for about 15 to 20 years until 2065 when the founder of the Desertstar Gaming and Electronic company took it over and built their HQ in that city. They made into what it was now. Since then, world has changed a lit bit over the many years. The countries of the world have known been peaceful for years now (Some cause some little bits of trouble, but nothing to big) and the last war was still World War 2 in the 1940s and things have been quieter. Cost of foods and other stuff have gone down since the downward decline of prices since the mid 2000s and have been getting better ever since. The beautiful now HQ had 10 floors and each floor had a ton of offices and major construction below the building was built as well and just in case a major storm would hit the building, they have a system below it just in case something that would target and it's been a company secret ever since. At the top floor of the building inside of a beautiful office, a tall middle-aged man with brown hair, a small goatee and moustache was sitting at a large black wooden desk and nearby was her two girls and one had brown hair and the other one blonde hair and they each had a desk. The guy was Tyrone Kyler, the owner of the huge building and the girls were his twin daughters Amber and Annie and they were both 29 in age and the helped run the building with their father. They were all their desks and keeping a eye on the company.
He nodded and resumed, "What a company we have. We the biggest gaming company in our part of the US and everything is going amazingly well.
The taller lady with blonde hair (Amber) nodded and resumed, "We did everything we could and our tournament we're starting up will be the best thing to hit this dusty town since that gang battles back in the 2020s. The company is amazing, dad."
He looked at her and resumed, "It took 15 years while my father Derrick was in charge and now we took over and it's ready to go now. It's a beautiful park as well."
The shorter twin nodded and resumed, "I Think a Duel Monsters tournament will increase the popularity of our city and make it even better then before."
Their father nodded and resumed, "It will be a great time, Annie. We just need two more duelists to enter the tournament and then I think we'll be ready to go."
Amber looked at her laptop and resumed, "The Santo Ileso Master Tournament is finishing up tomorrow at the Smelterdome, dad. It's going to be a fun time."
He nodded and resumed, "I know about that match as well. Kelsey will be seeing the duel with her own eyes as well."
Annie nodded and resumed, "Sounds like a plan. Kelsey has been my best friends since we were kids and she always likes to help us out. We'll watch from this office and it should be one hell of a match."
Her father nodded as they all went back to work.

A beautiful white house in the Rancho Providencia Neighborhood
6:00pm
I live inside of a beautiful white house in the beautiful Rancho Providenica area of Santo Ileso and I was working on my deck. I had brown hair with pink streaks in it and I wore a red and blue shirt and blue jeaned shorts and I wore glasses to cover my beautiful blue eyes as well and I had a single tattoo, but it was a beautiful black dragon that covered most of my left arm and below the head it said DRAGON LADY below it and I also had a tattoo of 3 large red and gold hearts on my chest with small red roses around them. My name is Erica Jameson. I was a happy 22 year old living in Santo Ileso living with the best family a person can ever have. I was going over my deck that helped get through some tough matches in the tournament so fair and I was ready to continue on tomorrow afternoon and see if I had what it takes. I controlled a decent Fiend Deck that smashed though some amazing decks and now I had to face a deck I watched and was hoping for the best to win the championship and show the world how me and Santo Ileso duels. I had some decent cards and I controlled a few cards in my Extra Deck as well and I couldn't wait to show the world what more i could do with this deck and I looked down at my deck and I smiled and resumed, "I can't wait for the final match and I will test me to the limit and was more then confident that my deck will win me the tournament."
I heard knocking and then I looked at my door and resumed, "Come on in."
The door opened up and my mom (Cindy) and stepfather Lucas was there and my mom smiled as she held a small box and resumed, "You ready to show the world how powerful your skills are, honey?"
I smiled and then nodded and then I looked at my mom and resumed, "What's in the box?"
She smiled and resumed, "Your grandfather Terone had a amazing deck style of a Fiend deck back in his days as a duelist. He wanted to use his cards he won in tourmaments, but never had a chance to do so. Want to try your best, honey?"
She handed me the box and I opened it up and inside was some of the best cards I ever seen! Some where even so rare that most haven't been seen in years and I smiled and resumed, "These cards will help me increase my chances of winning tomorrow. I need some more time to work on it."
My mom smiled back at me and resumed, "Take your time, honey. You'll need a full deck for tomorrow."
Lucas smiled and resumed, "When your done, come on down and we can order some takeout from your choice, Erica. Marcus is downstairs and he'll be with us when you come on done, hon. Take your time and we'll see you later."
I nodded as they both left and I looked through the new cards I Just got and I looked back at my deck and I knew I would be using more time now to make my deck amazing. After I ate supper, I would work on making my deck better and better. I couldn't wait to show the world how powerful my deck is right now and It's going to the best Fiend deck the city and probably the world would ever see.

Smelterdome / Santo Ileso Master Tournament Final / 11:00am
We had to leave at about 10:00 this morning to make it to the stadium in time. The arena was packed up with people waiting for a great duel soon. I was going over my deck one last time. The cards my Grandpa let me have made my deck complete and I was ready to show Santo Ileso that I was ready to be its state champion and I took a deep sigh and resumed, "I've been waiting for this moment for months now. It's me against that Dinosaur duelist. He smashed through everyone's deck so far and It was my time to face him.
My clothes were ready. I was wearing a green coat with a short yellow shirt that showed off my navel and I wore blue jeans as well and then I heard noise as my mom walked in and she smiled and resumed, "You ready for this duel, honey?"
I looked at my redone deck and resumed, "Ready as I will ever be, mom. I've been waiting for this day for a long time now and I can't wait to win it all."
"I expected nothing less from you, honey. Good luck to you and we'll be in our VIP area."
I nodded as she walked and hugged me and she left the locker room and I looked back at my deck and I smiled and resumed, "Time to become Santo Ileso's champion."
I left the locker room as well.

Inside of the main arena, the crowd was waiting as long as they could for the amazing duel to began and they wanted a great match to watch. My parents and brother were in the VIP area near the the center of the stadium.
Her mom sighed and resumed, "This is going to be a amazing duel."
She looked at her husband and resumed, "Thanks for being apart of me and Erica's world, honey. We've had a tough ride and we're glad to be a team with you as well."
He smiled back at her and resumed, "I love you both with a passion, hon. You both mean a lot to me and I'm glad to be in for the ride."
She smiled as the crowd cheered as the host came back in and was a thin guy by the name of Derek Masters and he smiled and resumed, "Time to show who will be the
Santo Ileso City Champion and will represent our city next Spring in the State Championship! Our first duel has a great deck of magic and spells and it's getting better each time we see it in battle! Say hello to the Demon Queen herself! say hello to Erica Jameson!"
They all cheered as I walked in and and then Derek resumed, "Her opponent has a mighty Dinosaur deck that has a lot of power and might to it! Say hello all to Jason Masters!"
My opponent walked in and I look foward to this amazing duel, my friend. He had a powerful deck that can smash through anything. I was in for a hard-fought fight and he looked back at me and he smiled and resumed, "May the best duelist take the championship and show Santo Ileso who's the best."
I smiled at that. I watched all off his duels and she had a amazing that i dreaded that had to face sooner or later. She won a close duel against this Dale guy that ran a decent Fire Burn Deck and I looked foward to using this deck against her and then our host smiled and replied, "Let's get ready to duel."
We both activated our duel disks and both drew 5 cards and the host smiled and resumed, "Let the tournament finale begin..NOW!"
"Game on!", Jason yelled out.

The host smiled and resumed, "Since Erica had more lifepoints in her last duel, she will get the first move."
I nodded and looked at my current hand and then I resumed, "I'll set a monster and that's all I can do right now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Two-Headed King Rex."
He played the card and the large dinosaur with two large purple heads appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"I attack now."
It quickly let out two powerful roars and the soundwave shot out and and my Winged Minion appeared on the card (DEF: 700) and the attack ripped into it, tearing it in half. The remains dissolved into dust.
"That'll do for me."
I drew my newest card and resumed, "I summon my Archfiend Soldier."
She played the card and the demon soldier appeared (ATK: 1,900) and I nodded and I pointed as my soldier charged and swung its sword, cutting into the dinosaur and it let out small roars from its two heads before it shattered to pieces (Jason LP: 8000 - 7700).
"I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll set a monster and a card for later and that'll end my turn now."
I drew my newest card and then resumed, "I summon my Opticlops."
He played the one-eyed ogre with a single horn on its head appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Soldier attacks first."
I only watched as he rushed in and a Trakadon appeared on the card (DEF: 1,000) and the soldier went and swung its sword, cleaving through his dinosaur and then blowing it to bits and he nodded and resumed, "I activate my Soul Ressurection."
The trap flipped up and the same dinosaur appeared and knelt down (DEF: 1,000) and she nodded and pointed as the ogre quickly rushed in and rammed into his dinosaur and reduced it to small white shards that flew around him and I nodded and pointed back at him and he drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Unexpected Dai to Special Summon my Sabersaurus and then I'll also summon my Giant Rex."
The spell appeared and the large orange dinosaur appeared (ATK: 1,900) and then a larger and angerier dinosaur appeared (ATK: 1,900) and he opened his field slot and resumed, "Time for the classic Jurassic World."
The spell appeared and the ancient jungle formed around his side of the field (ATK: 1,900 - 2,200) - (ATK: 2,000 - 2,300).
"Giant Rex attacks your Opticlops and then I'll attack with my Sabersaurus."
The large dinosaur went in and slashed at the ogre and it moaned and then burst in to shards and then the other dinosaur rushed and slammed into my Soldier and he dropped his sword before shattering as well (Erica LP: 8000 - 7200).
"Your turn now, miss."
She drew a new card and resumed, "I'll set a monster for later and then I'll set a new card and that'll end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I attack now."
her Rex went in and my Sangan appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and it rammed into it and tore it brutally in half with its claws and teeth. The remains dissolved into dust and I got a new card from my deck and I pointed as my Sabersaurus quickly rushed in and I quickly discarded a card as my Kuribohs appeared and made a wall as the large dinosaur rushed and smashed through a few of them before his monster could reach me.
"Clever move. I activate my Dino Blast."
The spell appeared.
"I target one dinosaur with a level, you take damage equal to my monster's level times three hundred."
A huge burst of energy shot out and slammed into me (Erica LP: 7200 - 6000).
"I'll end my turn now."
I drew a card and then resumed, "I activate my Charge into a Dark World."
My spell appeared and my Archfiend Soldier reappeared and I discarded another Fiend monster and then resumed, "I now summon a card from a rare set of cards. I summon my Disc Demon."
I played a card and a colorful burst of flames appeared as my newest and really cool monster appeared. It was a tall demon with white and black makeup, white gloves and flame-shaped hair and was wearing a blue suit (ATK: 1,800) and I nodded and resumed, "Time for a serious card. I activate my Raging Flame of Hell."
The spell appeared.
"If I control a Fiend monster, All Non-Fiend monsters lose 1,000 attack and then we both take 1,000 damage and also your Field Spell is destroyed."
The eyes of my Fiends glowed as her ancient jungle was quickly engulfed in flames as the field was reduced to hot ash & burnt timbers and then hot ash rained down on both dinosaurs (ATK: 2,300 - 1,000) - (ATK: 2,200 -900) - (Erica LP: 6000 - 5000) - (Jason LP: 7700 - 6700).
"I attack now and when my Disc Demon crushes a monster, you take 400 damage as well."
He let let out a laugh as a burst of fiery discs shot out and pierced through his King Rex and blew it to shards (Jason LP: 6700 - 5900) and more fiery discs shot out and struck her (Jason LP: 5900 - 5500) and then my soldier went and swung its sword, cutting into the side of the angered dinosaur and it let out a deep grunt-like noise before collapsing to the ground and then blew into bits afterwards (Jason LP: 5500 - 4600).
"That'll do it for now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll set a monster and that's all for me."
I drew a new card and I nodded and resumed, "I attack with my Soldier now."
It went in and the Black Stego appeared on the card (DEF: 2,000) and he slashed it and a small piece of its sword flew into the air and struck me in the right arm (Erica LP: 5000 - 4900).
"That's all for me."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll activate my Spelbook in the Pot so we both drew 3 cards."
The spell appeared and we both drew 3 cards and she resumed, "I now play Polymerization to fuse my Black Stego with the Kaitoptera I drew with my Spell to create my Horned Saurus."
The spell appeared and a the large winged dinosaur flew into the spell and a larger dark-skinned dinosaur appeared (ATK: 2,000) and he smiled and resumed, "I can grab a Field Spell from my deck or graveyard and activate it."
He grabbed his Jurrassic World and played it right away as the ancient jungle appeared again (ATK: 2,000 - 2,300) and then it glowed as a small stream of purple flames shot out and struck me down (Erica LP: 4900 - 2600) and he resumed, "One of Horned Saurus's effects. I'll end my turn now."
I drew a new card and resumed, "I'll switch my monsters to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and a card facedown and that's all for me."
He drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Megalosmasher X."
She played the card and a huge watery dinosaur with a huge jaw filled with razor-sharp teeth appeared (ATK: 2,000 - 2,300).
"I attack with my Smasher."
It glowed as a burst of water shot out and struck down my Disc Demon and he moaned and burst into a cloud of scalding steam.
"Saurus attacks now."
It glowed as a burst of violet flames shot out and my Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the attack struck and smashed it to bits and I had nothing to discard and he had to discard a card and we both drew 5 cards and he resumed, "This duel is getting better and better! I end my turn now."
He was serious about that one and then I drew a new card and resumed, "I summon my Skull Knight #2."
I played its card and the evil skull-like knight appeared (ATK: 1,000) and then I resumed, "I now play Polymerization to fuse it with the Dark Mimic LV1 in my hand to create the mighty Aerial Eater."
The small chest appeared and the spell appeared and both of my monsters flew into it quickly and a large airbone Fiend with bladed wings and clawed hands appeared (ATK: 2,100) and I resumed, "With its effect, I can send any Fiend monster from my deck to the graveyard."
I looked through my deck and I found a card and quickly discarded it and then I smiled and resumed, "I use my facedown card and it's Inverse Universe."
The trap flipped up and my Fusion (ATK: 2,100 - 2,600) and his fusion both glowed (ATK: 2,300 - 1,300) and then I resumed, "I now activate my Underworld Cyclone."
The spell appeared and I resumed, "I banish a Fiend monster from my graveyard and one of your spell or traps meets the same fate."
I pocketed my Skull Knight #2 quickly and a huge storm of energy struck his side of the field and his field completely vanished from the field (ATK: 1,300 - 1,000).
"I attack your Horned Saurus."
My fiend glowed as a huge burst of wind shot out and tore into the dinosaur and it let out a deep growling noise before collapsing to the ground in a pile of broken bones & dust (Jason LP: 4600 - 3000).
"I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Megalosmasher to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all for me."
I drew a card and then I resumed, "I summon my Mad Archfiend."
I played its card and a Fiend with sharp claws appeared (ATK: 1,800) and I smiled and resumed, "He does piercing damage as well. Attack now."
It went and slashed through his dinosaur and it let loud gurgling noise before it exploded into globs of water that splattered all over the ground (Jason LP: 3000 - 1200) and then I pointed out as my Aerial Eater glowed as a huge burst of wind shot out and a Souleating Oviraptor appeared on the card (DEF: 500) and the air tore into it and blew it to bits and he took a dinosaur monster from his deck and discarded it.
"I'll set a card and that'll do for me."
He drew a card and he smiled and resumed, "I activate my Monster Reborn to bring out my Super Conductor Tyranno."
He played the card and the huge dinosaur of light appeared (ATK: 3,400) and he resumed, "I know about your Mad Archfiend's effect and I'll banish the Breakthough Skill I discarded with your Jar to negate its effect."
He quickly banished the card and my monster glowed with energy.
"I attack it now."
It glowed as a huge burst of fiery light shot out and struck it down and vaporized it (Erica LP: 2600 - 1000).
"I end my turn now."
I was in trouble now. If I didn't drew the card I needed, he could use that thing's effect and blast me next turn and then I quickly drew a card and I saw what it was and I nodded and resumed, "I summon my Goblin Elite Attack Force."
I played its card and a army of armored goblin soldiers with their weapons drawn (ATK: 2,200) and I resumed, "I attack with my Aerial Eater."
It quickly went in and I nodded and resumed, "I activate my Bark of the Dark Ruler."
The trap appeared and I resumed, "I think 900 should be enough."
I glowed and groaned a bit (Erica LP: 1000 - 100) as his monster weakened (ATK: 3,400 - 2,600) and a huge burst of wind shot out and slammed into the dinosaur and it let out a powerful roar before it exploded in a colorful shower of fiery light them and he nodded and resumed, "Neat way to end it. Go for the win."
I nodded and resumed, "It was a fun duel. Attack him directly."
The goblins went and slammed their weapons and knocked him back a bit (Jason LP: 1200 - 0) and the host smiled and resumed, "We have a winner now! Your Santo Ileso City champion is the one and only Erica Jameson!"
The crowd cheered as loud as they could as I smiled and took it all in.

Raging Flame of Hell / Normal Spell Card

Activate this card if you control a Fiend monster. Destroy a Field Spell Card your opponent controls and then you and your opponent take 1000 damage and then all Non-Fiend monsters lose 1000 ATK.
Note: Was used by Yami Yugi in the Yugioh R Manga (This is the version I'm using and not the one posted on the Yugioh Wikis).
Dino Blast / Normal Spell Card

Underworld Cyclone / Quickplay Spell Card
Image: Dark Ruler Ha Des in the middle of the storm and various Spell and Traps are being sucked in that include a Fairy Box, Backfire, Level Limit Area B and Molten Destruction.
Banish 1 Fiend monster from your GY; Banish 1 faceup Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls.

Disc Phantom
Fiend/Effect/Fire/ATK: 1,800/DEF: 1,200/4 Stars
(This card is always treated as a DARK monster as well as its original attribute.)
When this card destroys a monster in battle, inflict 400 damage to your opponent. When tributed for a Fiend monster, draw 1 card and then place 1 card from your hand at the bottom of your deck. You can only use this effect of "Disc Phantom" once per turn.
