Chapter 8: Death-tention

Location: Snell Residence, Chamberlain, Maine
The next morning, Sue & Sierra were just making her way downstairs to breakfast with their parents again, especially Sue after another stressful sleep of nightmares about Carrie, before waking up, getting washed and dressed for another dreading day at school, in classes with Chris and the rest of the Mortimer Snerds…
"Girls, You both down here? We need to talk to both of you…" James called, as Sue & Sierra entered the kitchen, where they found both their parents sitting at the dining table, both looking distraught…
"Mom? Dad? You both ok? What's happened?" Sue asked in concern and worry, as she and Sierra took seats at the dining table…
"Girls, we need you to be extremely careful and vigilant at School today… Two of your classmates: Jackie Talbot & Kenny Garson were both found murdered last night…" James replied, causing Sue & Sierra's faces to drop with shock.
"Murdered?!" Sue and Sierra replied with shock, despite their major dislike towards them, for their involvement in Carrie White's demise…
"Yes, I was at the scene last night, when their bodies were found and taken away…" James replied again, not giving too many details on what he saw…
"Any idea on who could have done this?" Sierra asked in concern and worry.
"Sue, you remember you said you saw a dark female figure with blonde hair…" James asked his elder daughter, as Sue nodded in confirmation… "Well, I confronted a girl of that very description on Carlin Street, outside Carrie & Margaret's former home, just after they blew up the local law firm, after injuring John Hargensen during a hostage situation all last night… She wore all Black Gothic looking clothing, and black and White Corpse Bride looking make up…"
"You confronted the person?" Sue gasped, as her dad nodded…
"She admitted to murdering both Jackie & Kenny, as well as leaving some evidence regarding John Hargensen…" James continued to explain.
"What evidence?" Sue asked.
"They left a stolen briefcase of detailed files and information detailing that John Hargensen had been covering up and tampering with evidence regarding Chris's involvement with Carrie White's death last year, and even gone as far as Bribing & even paying Billy Nolan and his gang to silence any witnesses, including Rita Desjardin…" James explained, causing Sue, Sierra and Eleanor's faces to drop in more shock…
"What's gonna happen now to John and Chris and everyone involved?" Sue asked again.
"Well, the information is still being thoroughly investigated, but if it all goes through, it could mean very bad results for the John, Chris, Billy and everyone else involved, John could lose his job and reputation, Chris and her friends could all be expelled and face prison sentences, but until then, we can't do anything proper… Besides, John is still in hospital being treated for his injuries from the hostage situation… But that's not what really worried about…" James explained, as Sue, Sierra & Eleanor were all shocked even more…
For them, it sounded like this mysterious female vigilante of sorts, was doing Carrie White & Chamberlain some form of Justice for some unknown reason…
"What are you worried about dad?" Sierra asked in concern.
"When I confronted this female vigilante, she said everyone who was involved with Carrie White's death, died the exact moment she did, before she somehow disappeared and got away before we could arrest her… in other words, I fear that whoever this vigilante is… she's gonna kill again, and I'm worried she's gonna target more people from your school, possibly including you… So, whatever happens today you two, if see anything suspicious, in or out of school, alert the police immediately…" James explained nervously.
"We will dad." Sue replied, feeling nervous inside and out, not sure whether to feel more worried about Chris and her friends, or this killer vigilante more…
(Later that day…)
As Sue & Sierra approached the school, meeting up with Tommy, George and a few other of their friends who had supported them since Carrie's death, they all noticed, as well as a few police cars & police officers on patrol around the school and area, the sound… the sound of… Nothing… no sound of Chris and the others chanting sadistic things loudly, not even the sounds of other students chatting amongst each other… Just Silence… Complete Silence… To Sue, Sierra, Tommy, George and so on, the silence was unreal… As they all headed towards the school entrance, they saw many other students, including Chris, Billy, and the rest of the Mortimer Snerds, all wearing black or dark casual clothing, standing & mourning before a couple of framed photos of Jackie & Kenny, while laying flowers in front of them… As much as it was sad for such young lives to be taken so soon, Sue and co felt no sympathy nor hatred for them, knowing what they were really like… Chris and Snerds gave Sue and the others cold death stares, as they walked by entering the school, but none of them took any notice…
Following receiving the photos of Jackie & Kenny's brutally mutilated bodies through Billy's phone, from the unknown Crow, as well as receiving the news of their murders, Chris, Billy, & the rest of the Mortimer Snerds were trying their best to not worry, but upon the photos and texts regarding the murders, as well as the texts regarding the knowledge of their involvements with Carrie White's death, many of them were nervous and scared that whoever this Crow was, they were coming for them, determined to punish and kill them for what happened to Carrie… This was even more solidified when Chris received the call that her dad and several of his colleagues were in hospital, as well as the news of the Law firm hostage situation and explosion. When Chris & Billy went to see her dad, He furiously scolded the pair of them again, as well as informing them that all the evidence that he had kept hidden regarding everything they had done to avoid prison or worse regarding Carrie White, had been stolen and handed into the police by some blonde goth girl with corpse bride make up… This meant John was facing possible indefinite suspension from his job, as well as prison, as well as Chris and all her friends who were involved or knew about their plans leading up to Carrie's death, could face being expelled and imprisoned as well… But despite all this, and learning of Jackie & Kenny's murders from the 'Crow,' John told Chris and Billy to find out who the Crow was, and deal with them ASAP… Since then, Chris and Billy had told the rest of their friends to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity. Despite ruling them out, Chris & everyone began to wonder if Sue, Tommy and any of their friends or family knew anything about Jackie & Kenny's murders, or who the Crow might be even… As Chris and everyone continued to mourn their fallen classmates, little did anyone know, The Crow was watching & listening to everything while sitting on a nearby wall, visually feeding back all it could see back to Carrie, who was sitting on a bench in the girls locker room, with the remains of her vanity, her arms and legs crossed & her eyes shut, observing everything seen and heard by the Crow, before it flew off, causing Carrie to open her eyes, with a somber glare on her face, seeing they everyone was mourning the loss of two of her tormentors, but never did for her, when they were the ones who got her killed in the first place, leading up to where she was now, as she got up and walked over to one of the gym locker mirrors… Carrie glared into the mirror at her reflection, remembering the very incident that marked the beginning of her humiliation and downfall…
*Flashback*
Carrie was showering after gym class, after another tormenting class of volleyball in the gym swimming pool, where she'd been further tormented by Chris and her friends, for accidently hitting Sue in the head with the volleyball when trying to throw it back into the game…
As Carrie continued to shower, she dropped her bar of soap, which was now covered in period blood, as Carrie looked down to grab her soap, she saw her hands were covered with blood… Her Blood…
Carrie screamed and panicked, before running over to the other girls, pleading & begging for help, thinking she was dying, grabbing and staining a bloody handprint on Sue's blouse with her Bloodified hand, but she, Chris and everyone else just laughed it off, knowing it was just Carrie's period, before grabbing tampons from a nearby locker, and throwing them at Carrie, while laughing & chanting 'Plug it up', as the latter backed away and fell to the floor, pleading and screaming in pain and humiliation, as Chris recorded everything on her phone… until the incident was broken up by Miss Desjardin, who tried to calm Carrie down, even having to reluctantly slap her to do so…
The sadness and humiliation of what happened to Carrie that day caused her anger to boil, as she trembled with fury and revenge, causing her telekinetic powers caused the glass of the mirror before her, as well as the others to crack…
*Flashback Ends*
Carrie's trembling eyes shot open, causing all the mirrors to completely shatter before her, with all the shards to all fall into the sinks beneath. Carrie quickly looked around to make no one heard anything or was entering the gym lockers, before looking down at the broken shards of mirror glass before her, before using her powers to levitate one large, long jagged and sharp shard, looking like a large blade, before grabbing it, looking at it, as well as her reflection… But before anything else, Carrie heard voices nearby, as she gasped and looked behind her, before instantly vanishing, taking all the shards of broken mirror glass with her…
(Later on, that day…)
Gym class for Carrie's former class was about to start, consisting of Sue, Sierra, Chris, Tina, Nicki, Lizzy, Heather, Rachel, Anissa, Jessica, & some more of the others in the class, who were all in the swimming pool, playing another game of volleyball, while the rest of the girls, as well as the boys, regarding Tommy, George and the rest of the remaining boys were sitting on the bench…
"Ok Ladies, Lets go, in the water, caps on please!" Rita called, blowing her whistle.
Despite it being a year since Carrie died, Rita hadn't forgotten that tragic night, especially the hearings of when Carrie's time of death was announced by the doctors and paramedics, who were tending to Carrie in her last moments. Following her death and tending her funeral, Rita, along with Principal Morton, Sue, Tommy, and others, provided testimonies and as much evidence as they could against Chris and all her friends, determined to get justice for Carrie, but the hopes all came crashing down, due to the evidence not being enough, along with being bribed threatened by Billy and his gang, as well as John Hargensen, to keep the peace without anyone going prison. With the hopes of Justice for Carrie crushed, feeling she had failed the late latter, Rita & her life began slowly falling apart into a state of depression, almost to the point that she nearly took her own life, only to be found & prevented from doing so by Sue and Tommy, as well as a major hatred for Chris and the rest of her friends. Rita would do anything to punish those girls for everything they had done to Carrie, but knew she couldn't in case John or Billy threaten her again or worse. But when Rita heard about Jackie & Kenny's murders, as well as John being attacked, injured and possibly exposed for his crimes in preventing the course of Justice, she began to hope that someone finally decided to try & put them in their places, and the truth couldn't be hidden forever. But despite having two of those who helped John & Billy threaten her taken out of the picture, she was still slightly upset and afraid that someone had brutally killed another two of her students, fearing that whoever committed these murders, and was still on the loose… But following all these recent events: The Yearly anniversary of Carrie's death, Margaret White's sudden death, The Murders of Jackie & Kenny, John Hargensen being attacked & exposed… To Rita, there was something very eerie about it all…
As the Volleyball game played on, both teams of girls were playing and cheering each other on… except for Sue, who despite being involved, was being sarcastically being called names and joked about in attempts to bring down her confidence, as well as the other girls in her team not letting her take shots, or even stealing shots from her, mostly Rachel, Anissa & Jessica, but she didn't interact with anyone apart from Sierra, as well as being cheered on by Tommy, despite most of Chris and her friends being on the opposing team. Meanwhile, standing in the darkness & shadows of the doorway to and from the girl's locker room, was Carrie, watching everything somberly, with the Crow on her shoulder, remembering the volleyball game that she and everyone was playing, before her period meltdown afterwards… Carrie kept most of her watch on Sue, feeling both sad & guilty for her, that now she was gone, it was somewhat her fault, that Chris and the Snerds had now turned to bullying her, for realizing that all their sadistic actions over the years, as well as feeling anger for that Chris and her friends hadn't learnt anything or changed since her death at their hands, or even been properly punished for it…
Carrie & The Crow then noticed as the game played on, Sue jumped to take a shot, but nearly fell on Jessica in the process…
"Sorry…" Sue apologized nervously.
"What the hell, Snell?!" Jessica snapped, before pushing Sue.
"You should watch where your going, Freak!" Rachel joined in, pushing Sue as well.
"And we all thought Carrie White was bad at this…" Anissa Joked sadistically, pushing Sue also.
"Yeah, you eat shit just like her, Sue!" Chris sadistically laughed, along with all her friends.
"Alright, Break up!" Rita called sternly, as Rachel, Anissa & Jessica, continued pushing Sue around, ignoring Rita at first… "That's it, Spies, Chen & Upshaw, you're all out of the game, and in Detention!"
Upon hearing this, Rachel, Anissa & Jessica all reluctantly stopped pushing at Sue, and got out of the pool, as Tommy and Rita helped and tended to Sue, who was about to cry… From seeing everything, Carrie then disappeared back into the locker room, with the Crow in tow…
"We're sorry Miss Desjardin…" Jessica jokingly apologized…
"We were only playing and joking around…" Rachel added in…
"I don't care what you were all thinking, go change up, and go to the principal's office, NOW!" Rita growled them, as the three grabbed their towels and nervously walked back to the girl's locker room, as Rita chose more girls to take their places in the remainder of the game…
While Rachel, Anissa & Jessica, returned to the locker room, they were watched secretly by Carrie & The Crow, while still maintaining their cover, waiting for the right moment, just as her next targets stripped out of their swimsuits, and entered the showers to get washed…
The Girls showered silently, not speaking to one another, knowing and worrying what would happen to them upon telling Principal Morton why Miss Desjardin had sent them there… little did any of them know, as they continued to shower, the steam was getting thicker and thicker like fog, making it almost impossible to see… but as they continued to shower, they all thought they heard footsteps… slow and steady footsteps, prowling near the showers, but as they looked through the thick steam, none of them could see anyone there…
Jessica finished up in the shower first, as she wrapped herself in her towel before making her way to her locker, but as she did so, she had a strange feeling, that despite Rachel & Anissa being in the showers, she was being watched… like she wasn't alone… Jessica opened her locker, but then looked to her right… To find the locker where the tampons were kept, specifically the locker where they she and her classmates got them to throw at Carrie White, was open, and empty…
"Uh… Rachel? Anissa? Where are all the Tampons?" Jessica called… But no response… Just silence… aside from the running water from the showers… "Rachel? Anissa?"
Jessica power walked nervously back to the showers, wondering why Rachel & Anissa hadn't responded, but still couldn't see through all the thick steam, until she got back to the showers…
"Rachel? Anissa?" Jessica called again, but still no response…
Jesscia reached where Rachel & Anissa were showering… but they had disappeared… at first, Jessica thought they had finished showering, but that didn't explain why the showers were still running… until she noticed their swimsuits, towels and soaps were still where they were… But as she took a closer look, they all looked like they'd been stained in some kind of red substance, as it was being washed down the drain by the shower water… Until Jessica then realized it was Blood… Rachel & Anissa's Blood, as she slowly noticed it splattered all over the shower walls…
Jessica gasped & backed slightly, breathing heavily, unsure if this was some kind of prank, or something more serious may have happened… Jessica then gasped again as she heard flapping, sounding like a bird had strangely got into the locker room somehow, as Jessica looked around frantically, unable to see anything until…
*CAW!*
Jessica jumped at the sound, turning in its direction, to see The Crow, sitting on the wall by where Anissa was showering, as the dark bird just looked at Jessica… Jessica began to slowly back away, not taking her eyes off the Crow… when she bumped backwards into something… Or someone… Who then quickly and aggressively grabbed and covered Jessica's mouth from behind, so she couldn't shout or scream for help, no matter how hard she tried… As Jessica turned & looked back to the right corner of her eyes, she got a glimpse of her assailant, through the thick steam still, who had Long and Messy Strawberry Blonde hair, her facial skin was completely pail white, with Black dripping Eye Shadow and matching lips, & All Black clothing, who blankly glared at Jessica, who was now frightened beyond belief, despite her assailant having a heavily and crudely made up face, she felt a cold sense of Déjà vu…
"Plug it up… FREAK!" Carrie venomously hissed…
Carrie then powerfully surged a large, jagged shard of broken mirror glass deep into Jessica's lower back, as Jessica's eyes widened while gave an agonizing & gargling scream, muffled by Carrie's hand, as blood began pouring out from both her mouth through Carrie's hand, as well as down below…
(Meanwhile…)
Back in the Swimming pool, the Volleyball Game had just finished, with Sue firing the ball up and landing in the water of Chris's team, winning the game…
"That's the Game, Team 1 wins!" Rita called, blowing her whistle.
Sue's team cheered, just as Chris fired the ball up in frustration, hoping to hit Sue on the head, but missed and bounced and rolled into the Girl's locker room…
All the Girls got out of the pool, taking their shower caps off in the process, Tommy, George & some of the girls on her team cheered and congratulated Sue, even apologizing for earlier, except for Chris and the rest of Snerds…
"Lucky Shot, Cheater!" Chris hissed.
"Hey, do you wanna end in detention too, Chris?" Tommy replied, defending Sue.
"Fuck you, Tommy, besides she's no longer your problem, since you both couldn't keep it together over that dead freak!" Chris shot back, angering Sue & Tommy, while Tina, and the rest of Chris's friends sarcastically laughed and booed at Chris's savagery…
"That's Enough, Chris! You're joining Spies, Chen & Upshaw in Detention!" Rita roared at Chris.
"Whatever…" Chris ignorantly replied…
"Where's the ball?" Rita asked.
"I think Chris threw it into the locker room…" Tommy replied.
Rita and everyone then turned towards the girls locker room, but before they could enter, they saw the ball slowly rolling towards them… but as it closer and closer, everyone could see the ball was covered in something red and sticky, leaving a long trail of the substance before bumping into Rita's left foot… At first, everyone was confused at what the red substance was… except Rita, who's eyes widened, recognizing it as Blood… Rita then looked towards the hallway to the girl's locker room, before running into the locker room without hesitation, knowing something was up, as everyone else followed…
Rita followed the trail back to the showers in seconds, but then…
*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!*
Rita let out a loud blood curdling scream of horror, as everyone else who entered the locker room, screamed, gasped, or covered their mouths with shock & horror, trying not to gag or throw up…
In the showers before everyone were Rachel, Anissa & Jessica's pale & naked bodies, strung up to the pipes like they'd been crucified, covered in severe cuts and bits of broken mirror glass, & even Bloodified tampons impaled into them, as the still running shower water washed their blood down the drain… their cuts on their chests had all been carved to shape a bird like symbol, with 'Plug It Up' carved into the center of each bird symbol… even some tampons were tied to their arms, resembling bird wings…
Rita, Tommy, George & the rest of the boys wasted no time and tried to cut the strings, holding them up and turning the showers off, while some of the girls ran out of the locker room to alert Principal Morton, & Sue got to her locker and got her phone to call 911, for ambulances and the Police. As they lay down, Rachel & Anissa were confirmed dead by Tommy, George, and the other boys, while Jessica was still alive, gasping & coughing weakly in Rita's arms…
"Jessica, Jessica, stay with me. I need you to tell me what happened, tell me who did this for you girls? Rita asked in panic.
"It… It… It was…" Jessica weakly spluttered, trying to speak, but unable from her injuries…
"SUE, HURRY!" Rita shouted, as Sue dialed 911…
"Hello, 911 operator, what's your emergency?" The operator asked over the phone…
"Hello, I need Ambulances and the police immediately at Ewen High School, three of my classmates have been attacked in the gym locker, there's blood everywhere, two of them are dead, and one is in critical condition!" Sue called frantically into her phone.
As Sue stayed on the line with the operator, patching her through to the police, she got a strange feeling, that she was being watched… as she turned, she saw a dark shadowy female figure, the one she saw the other day, standing by the entrance/exit doors to the locker room, before disappearing behind a wall…
Sue then ran towards where the figure had been, knowing it was the assailant responsible… But as Sue reached the entrance/exit doors, The Figure was no where to be seen, they'd vanished, spooking Sue out even more…
