People trust Sonic, that's a problem. Maybe Amy was stupid to think people would give in immediately and she could discredit him and that would be that. But she can't. So one by one, she'll have to diminish the mythos around him. Slowly but eventually leaving him alone. Gone without anyone to support him. If nobody is there, he will fall. Down and down. Until Sonic is no more. Then that will be the time to strike. To end him once and for all. So who will be first so she can start the process? Tangle.
Seemingly always a big follower of Sonic. Tangle would be weirdly hard. Tangle is different from a friend. They're closer than most friends and almost like siblings. There's a sort of different connection there. Sort of as close to being a friend as someone like Shadow or Knuckles would be. There was a friendly and familial complex there. Sonic and Tangle are close and Tangle could easily be sworn easily onto his side. Amy would have to be careful with this. But Tangle was still negotiable. Especially when it came to one person: Whisper. Who would be a lot more easier to convince that Sonic killed Eggman but would be hard to convince her that was a bad thing. She absolutely hated Eggman, for good reason. But she was smart, Amy knows she is and she would protect Tangle with her life if she could. Even if that means not trusting Sonic. That would actually be less than throwing away her life, so Amy would believe this would be easy.
"Whisper." Amy approaches the Wolf, who is sitting on her lonesome. Whisper looks over surprised to see Amy.
Hello.* Whisper whispers.
"I assume you've heard the news?" Amy sadly says, standing near Whisper
Yes…* Whisper trails off, presumably in though, but Amy has a job to do
"I believe that you have reason to think that Sonic did nothing wrong?" Amy questions
Yes.* Without hesitation
"Well I'm here to convince you otherwise. We cannot have a cause if we are divided and fractured."
…* Whisper remains quiet
"I know you don't like Eggman. I don't either but killing someone is out of line you must understand."
…He deserves to die after all he's done.*
"Maybe so, but for Sonic to do so in cold blood is maybe going a bit too far"
I don't care how he died, he's dead. That's a good thing.*
"Would you have killed him?"
I almost did.*
"But you didn't. If after all of that, you still didn't kill him, then why should Sonic be able to?" Amy questions
Someone was there to stop me.*
"You were with other people, you did it while he was close. Sonic went out of his way to do it, there's something there. He has had a lot less trouble due to Eggman than you, so why should he be able to walk free?" Amy tries to exsplain
Eggman would've killed him.*
"Eggman is a criminal, Sonic is not. We couldn't arrest Eggman but we can arrest Sonic." Amy tries to exsplain
Fine. But I'm not helping capture him.* Whisper compromises, understanding Amy now and what she's doing and what she has to do, she doesn't like it though
"No need. He should be on his way to prison now. I need you to do one thing however." Amy requests
What?*
"Convince Tangle, Please? You know how much she looks up to Sonic. You may be the only one who can…" Amy sympathizes, the Wolf looks away then back to her
…I'll…Try.*
"Thank you."
Amy leaves. Whisper goes to Tangle. With Whisper's help, Tangle is easily convinced. After a bit, but still easily convinced by Whisper because of course she is. Amy's plan worked. First major one down and over with. Now she just has to get to the rest of them. But once one falls over, everything else seems to follow.
Sonic was arrested. Put into prison. He knows what and why. The charges against him are bogus. But he's at least a law helper and it's not like he has to defeat Eggman anytime soon. He will have to thank whoever killed him. Maybe not after he was framed by them. The security camera footage is wired. Who knew Eggman had such bad camera equipment? Even in the grave, Sonic found a new way to insult him. Maybe that's why he's here, one too many wisecracks at the doctor.
Sonic gets why he's arrested but what happened to being innocent until proven guilty. He doesn't even know how much he'll get. Assuming about a life sentence, maybe less with good behavior. He doubts that anyone is sympathetic towards the Doctor all that much. At the very least he'll get some time off because of who he apparently murdered. He used his phone call for a lawyer, just kidding he called Tails who thankfully got him a lawyer. Who is with him right now, going over the evidence.
"Why does it look like you're melting?" Sonic's lawyer says with a southern drawl, Sonic tries his best not to make a comment on his lawyers' accent.
"I assumed it's a fake, but you're the expert here, tell me what you think"
"Most jurors are not accustomed to fakes like you are Sonic, so why would you be melting here if you could say? Well I'll answer that question! The footage was obviously doctored, you know A.I. overlayed into real footage! Easy and shut case, Mr. Hedgehog, you might be my easiest case yet! As long as nothing else comes out… nothing else will come out right?"
"Not that I know of" Sonic says, he knows he's more confused and out of the loop than anyone else here
"Good enough, see you at the trial, this might be a ballpark for you and me!"
"Thanks" Sonic waves him off and his lawyer tips his hat down at Sonic and leaves. Sonic feels pretty good about this case now, a doctored video? Sounds reasonable, really. He can win this case and prove his innocence, then enjoy the rest of his life in solace away from any of Eggman's antics. Again, he might have to thank whoever actually did this, even if they did frame him. Works out in the end for both of them he guesses.
