"I made my reservation under the name Hode Fernandez." At the front desk, Wanda pulled out her phone and showed the screen to the server. However, she did not notice a pair of eyes fixated on her.
"Why is she here!" Hode felt a bit awkward. If Wanda happened to glance this way, she would definitely see him and Gwen together, and the scene would be unimaginable—Wanda would surely go wild. After all, dating two people at once is one thing, but in the same restaurant!
"No, no, I need to think of a way!"
"Just leave? That would be rude to Wanda."
"The Tiger Talisman Spell? No, that would split my personality in two!"
He really didn't expect it to happen so quickly; it hadn't even been over ten minutes since he arrived. There was still more than half an hour before dinner started!
At that moment, the waiter led Wanda toward the stairs. By the looks of it, she must have booked a private room, and Hode's racing heart finally calmed down. This aligned with Wanda's personality; as a celebrity, she couldn't eat in public.
"Hode, is someone calling you?" Gwen noticed Hode's gaze was focused on something behind her. She turned around to look.

In that instant, Hode felt a jolt of panic; if Gwen saw Wanda, there was a strong chance she'd greet her! He knew Gwen idolized Wanda, and if they met, it would explode.
In this critical moment, Hode cradled Gwen's face in his hands. Their eyes met. This unexpected move made Gwen halt her actions, and her heart raced at the sight of his approaching face.
What the... She never imagined Hode would lean in this way. Although this was a couple's restaurant, she had never been in a relationship before! Her cheeks flushed bright red.
Is he about to kiss me? Should I respond or play hard to get?!
As their movements caused the table to squeak slightly, Wanda, about to head upstairs, heard the noise nearby. She glanced curiously in that direction.
"Close your eyes!" Hode declared, showing no signs of panic as he gently covered Gwen's eyes.
"Okay." Gwen was momentarily taken aback, her heart racing—was this... going to be a kiss?!
Slowly, she closed her eyes and slightly raised her chin, adopting a posture as if inviting him to kiss her.
In that split second, Hode's right hand emitted a green glow. A snakelike energy flickered across his palm, and he instantly vanished.
At that moment, Wanda turned around and saw only a beautiful girl with her eyes shut. She didn't think much of it and shook her head as she continued upstairs.
When Wanda turned back, Hode immediately reappeared, exhaling deeply. He gently touched Gwen's eyelids, then sat back down.
Gwen sensed nothing of Hode's kiss. She only felt a sensation on her eyelids and opened her eyes in confusion.
"There was a hair on your eyelid; I removed it for you." Hode spoke calmly and casually tossed the nonexistent hair to the ground.
"Oh..." Gwen responded, but for some reason, she felt a tad disappointed.
"You're not thinking of anything strange, are you?" Hode teased, grinning.
"Of course not! Only you would think that way!" Gwen's face flushed red as Hode inadvertently spoke her innermost thoughts.
"No," Hode shook his head. "I was thinking about what dishes to make for you when you come to my place."
"Really?" Her attention was immediately captured. "I really like German cuisine, but I'd love to try what you cook."
"How about I treat you to some German sausages?" Hode smiled mischievously. "It's a specialty of Bratwurst."
"Sausages?" Gwen pouted, deep in thought. "Is that a dish? I'd love to try it!"
She shifted her gaze to Hode's face, feeling something off about his expression, something playful. But she didn't think too much of it; if it was Hode's cooking, it should be delicious!
They chatted happily for another ten minutes or so.
"By the way, I just remembered I have a meeting tonight." Hode glanced at his watch, looking a bit apologetic. "I'm afraid this is probably where it ends for tonight."
"Okay, I have classes tomorrow, too." Gwen nodded. Although she wanted to keep lingering together, she understood how important career was for men.
"Let's go!" Hode took Gwen's hand and naturally headed toward the exit.
