It was currently dinner time at Beacon Academy. Normally, most of the students would gather at the cafeteria for dinner, but for eight particular students, they were currently eating in their dorm rooms with permission from the headmaster. This was the keep the Pokemon that Jaune Arc had gotten safe from the public eye, even though it's probably too late for that.
Currently, Jaune was feeding each of his pokémon and nutritious diets that were actually high-quality pet food. He at first thought his Pokemon would not like it, but it seems they quickly accepted the food and were happily eating it.
"I'm surprised they're eating that."said Weiss, currently eating a plate of steak with asparagus when she said that.
"Well, Jaune got them high-quality pet food on what he thought they would like. Cinderace got high quality rabbit food, Lucario got high quality dog food, Corviknight got some high quality bird food, Goodra was giving vegetables which she seems to love, Urshifu was giving high quality meat, and Rapidash seems to really like that hay."said Ruby, who had just finished her dinner and was currently munching on a cookie for dessert.
Sure enough, the responsible Pokemon trainer had gotten each of his Pokemon separate food. He was lucky the Pokemon seemed to eat with their real-life counterparts eat, so he wasn't having any trouble with them.
Cinderace had just finished eating the rabbit food and was finishing off his meal with eating a carrot. All the others had just finished their meals around the same time, and Jaune handed immediate carrot with nervousness. Luckily for him, it appears that pokémon are omnivores, meaning to eat both meat and vegetables since they happily ate the food without any problem.
They also seem to enjoy carrots, something he made a mental note of.
"Wow, you sure are being responsible, Jaune."said Blake, impressed by how well he was taking care of his Pokemon.
"Well, it's kind of my fault they're here in the real world in the first place, and unlike in the game, they need to eat. So, I need to do my best to make sure they're well fed."said Jaune while wiping a sweat off of his brow, as it was not easy getting all that food there.
"Jaune, I think I've noticed something about your new body. It seems to be a lot physically stronger than your old body, by about two or three times stronger."said Pyrrha, who noticed this when Jaune brought back the hay for Rapidash.
Normally, one would struggle, but Jaune was barely breathing hard. It was as if his body had gotten the major upgrade, along with his internal organs.
"Well, I do have Batman's body now! Dude, can bench press well past 300 lb, so I'm not surprised I was able to carry that hay here so easily."said Jaune, figuring that was the most reasonable explanation.
"Well, it looks like you have a lot more admirers."said Yang with a teasing grin, knowing that a lot of girls were looking at Jaune's more ripped by when they were running all over the school for the Pokemon in question.
Pyrrha heard this and didn't want more rivals, especially when the subject in question didn't even notice that she had a crush on him.
"So what's the plan from here on forward? The Vytal tournament is in a few days, and this is certainly something we did not expect. I mean, really, I never would have expected this in a million years."pointed out Ruby, with everyone else silently agreeing with her.
"Well, maybe they could help me become a better huntsman."said Jaune, trying to stay optimistic about everything.
That is when Nora got an idea and threw an apple towards Jaune at high speed. Normally, he would have hit him in the face, and he would have scolded Nora for hitting him with an apple, but instead, he caught it in the nick of time without even looking.
"Woah! Nora! Why did you throw an apple at me?!"inquired Jaune, who didn't even notice the apple going at him until he felt it in his hand.
"I was just testing out a theory."said Nora while getting up.
"Theory? What theory?"inquired Ren, wondering what his childhood friend was up to now.
"Well, when I got a first look at those new muscles, I noticed those weren't the muscles one gets from hitting the gym every day... Those are the muscles built through combat, so I was testing fearless leaders' new muscles muscle memory."said Nora while approaching Jaune.
"What do you mean?"inquired Blake, just as her partner stood up.
"Muscle memory is the habit muscles built over time from everyday use. In Jaune's case, his new muscles were built over years of combat against supervillains and all that. Now, the old Jaune would have never caught that fast flying apple in a million years, but that's no longer the case. He now has the muscles of a true warrior, and it seems these muscles know how to fight."said Yang before she threw a sucker punch at Jaune.
The young man immediately intercepted it and almost struck Yang in the throat with a chop!
"Woah, I'm sorry. No, wait, why did you try to sucker punch me?!"inquired Jaune, wondering what the heck was that about.
"Just adding on to Nora's theory. You're more combat ready than ever, vomit boy."said Yang, agreeing with her fellow muscle enthusiast.
"Woah, you're right. I would have never gotten that close to your throat in a million years. Wow, I think I've leveled up big time in more ways than one."said Jaune, with his pokémon silently agreeing in the back.
"Plus, you have them."said Nora, pointing to the six Pokemon agreeing in the back.
"I don't think Professor Ozpin or Professor Goodwitch will agree to me using the Pokemon for the tournament since that's kind of like cheating."said Jaune, pointing out the obvious.
"But I doubt they'll say anything for real-life missions. You now have a powerful steed, a Kung Fu Master, a literal dragon, a flying war machine, a creature that can read aura, and a fire rabbit. What more could you ask for in loyal companions on an epic Quest!"said Nora with great enthusiasm.
She didn't run over to each pokémon and began inspecting them, particularly their muscles.
"Yep. You can tell they're well trained. You're seriously becoming more awesome than ever, fearless leader."said Nora, as the Pokemon looked uncomfortable with her touching them.
"Well, I don't know about that."said Jaune, who wasn't sure about any of this.
None of it was really him anymore. Sure, he felt much stronger than he ever was by leveling up, so to speak, what was any of it really him anymore? He had the muscles of another guy, along with pokémon that shouldn't have been real in the first place! He was just playing a video game for fun. He never expected any of this to happen, not in his lifetime! This was a lot to deal with.
That is when he felt a warm hand touching him. He looked over and saw his partner with a warm smile on her face.
"Don't forget, Jaune, I will do our best to help you out so you can process this. I know it's a lot to take in, but consider this a gift. You have finally become a true huntsman in training."said Pyrrha, knowing full well that Jaune has finally caught up to his peers.
Especially when Nora demonstrated the apple and Yang demonstrated his fighting ability just now. She was an experienced fighter, and she could tell that he had leveled up massively from where he was. He could probably give each of his friends a run for their money now!
"Well... I guess it's just a process of getting used to everything. I'm sure I'll be able to handle it with time. Thanks for having my back. I really mean that."said Jaune, glad to have such good friends with him.
"No problem... That's what friends are for."said Ruby, glad to have her friend's back.
"Says the girl who didn't want to do anything with anyone when she first started."said Weiss, causing her partner to blow a raspberry at her.
"I've changed. We've all changed. Jaune will eventually change and learn to adapt to his new body and his Pokemon by his side."said Ruby, feeling like she needed to explain that.
"Well, one thing is for sure, Jaune Arc has definitely had an upgrade since this morning!"said Nora Valkyrie while punching Jaune in the arm.
Normally, he would have fallen down or flinched, but he didn't this time. It was clear to her now that his body was not only much more muscular and had combat ability. It was also extremely durable to pain.
"Okay, how about we get some sleep, everyone? We have already finished our dinner and my Pokemon have already finished their food. So, let's just get ready for the tournament since it's coming up."said Jaune before he pulled out his pokeballs and returned each of his Pokemon to their respective ball.
He then went over to his bed and placed his belt next to his headboard. That way, his Pokemon would be next to him in the morning.
"You really care about them, don't you."said Blake, wondering how someone could care for something that didn't exist until this morning.
"Well, I spend a lot of time training them, and even though I only thought of them as video game characters, they saw me as their trainer. I can tell they trust me, and I don't want to betray that trust. So I want to do my best to help them out. I know they'll have my back, so I want to have theirs."said Jaune, making Blake smile as she could tell this guy was certainly evolving in more ways than one.
She already appreciated him for thinking Faunus and humans should have equal rights, but now this made her even more impressed with him.
"Well, we should really get going. I bet you were going to have a major metaphorical firestorm in the morning when everyone asked us about Jaune's new body and those Pokemon creatures."said Ruby, who was not blind to what was going to wait for them.
Especially since they didn't exactly hide the fact that they were capturing those pokémon left and right when they were running amok through the school.
"Tell me about it... Sun has had a million questions since this morning."said Blake, showing her scroll where the certain monkey faunus has been texting her non-stop about his questions.
Only she hasn't replied once...
"Well, I do need my beauty rest. And we need to get ready for what's to come, so good night, everyone."said Weiss before she stood up and took her plate with her.
"Yeah! Let's see what tomorrow brings us. And I can't wait to face you guys at the tournament."said Yang before walking with her friends and sister out of the room.
"Jaune, I know I don't need to say this. But I'm certain you're going to get a lot more attention than you really want tomorrow."said Ren, pointing out the obvious.
"Yeah... But whatever happens, I'm going to make sure my Pokemon are okay. Whether it's Atlas or someone known threat, no one is taking them away from me."said Jaune, making his teammate smile on his determination to protect his new friends.
A moment later, Jaune and Ren exited the dorm room so that their female teammates could change in privacy into their pajamas. About 10 minutes later, they went back in and changed in their pajamas while Nora and Pyrrha waited outside. This was their system, and it worked. Jaune was wearing his one-piece onesie, which was a little bit too tight for him now, thanks to his new muscles. Hopefully, he'll be able to get some adjustments soon.
But for now, he needed to focus one day at a time since he was certainly going to get a lot of attention from now on... Most likely from people high up!
But whatever happens, he will protect his Pokemon!
That was a promise he made into his heart!
