Miss Queen B: Hey Everyone, Long time no see, I hope everyone's 2025 year is going well so far. I had a few ups and downs, but all in all, thriving. I'm doing well, my family is doing well and life is going well, so yeah, all is good. I just had my Birthday yesterday (March 3) and it really opened up my eyes on everything since I've been on this planet for 37 years now, but I don't want to bore you, so let's go to the notes:
Note One: Ok, before I go any further I need to point out one major fact about this new story:
This story has absolutely no connection or timeline to my Fire, Water or Color series.
I think one of the reasons for my lack of motivation to update my other stories is because after writing more than twenty stories that shared the same timeline, connection and characters, I lost interest in it all together. I love using all the Godzilla characters, but I wanted to try something new with them with new ideas, plots and simply going back to my favorite type of writing genre which if you've in read my profile: Dark romance, forbidden love and love triangles. Don't get me wrong, I am still writing my other stories, but I really need to get this one out of the way and out of my system. lol. So again, in order to avoid confusion, this story has no connection to any of my three series.
Note Two: So what's new in this new AU: It's a short, romantic story between my favorite love triangle characters, but I'm hoping it will have a less conversational side to it. There's no infidelity like the Fire Series, Gojira and Mosura are more companions than mates/King and Queen and while it has a more healthier Mosura/Rodan relationship moments it will eventually switch over to Mosura/Gojira in the end. Like I said, I love "Love Triangle" stories. It will makes sense as the story unfolds and no, there's only one, there won't be any sequels or anything like that.
Note Three: Quick shout out to TheFallenStarr for all the inspiration I needed to write this little nugget. I really appreciate it and can't thank you enough. Thank you.
Note Four: About this chapter: Rodan experiences a lot of unfortunate events every time he cross paths with a friendly, colorful Moth and her little Bodyguard. Enjoy.

First Encounter
~He hates her…
No, he doesn't, not really
She just makes him feel
Things he claims
Don't exist~
It was just a rumor at first, something he heard during his hunt to find suitable food, so he didn't put that much thought into it. With everything that happened over his young life there was no point putting high hope into something he just heard on a whim. Yet, as the days went on with more and more Kaijus talking about it and spreading it like wildfire, he couldn't deny it himself. After centuries of chaos, famine and complete darkness, the monster known as the Three Headed Demon was gone. Either killed by a blast of fire, or old age or by an epic battle with another Alpha kaiju, who knows, it depends on which rumor sounded cliche and plausible. Either way, they were gone and the whole world couldn't be happier. By the end of the week, the sky was clearer, letting the bright hot sun show itself for the first time in hundreds of years and filling its surroundings with fresh air. A few days later, the plantation started to grow at an alarming rate which caused better "Food Source" to come out of their hiding. A few weeks after that, the volcanoes all around his turf started activity again, shooting black, thick smoke and pouring out fresh, hot lava to help him with his sore muscles and harden his battered body. Decades of rain softened his body and turned his once fierce and fiery wings into black sludge. As he stood there on the brim of his volcano, preparing himself for much needed sleep and rebuilding himself, it occurred to Rodan, he didn't care how the Three Headed Demon met their demise, he didn't care one single bit. They were gone and things were back to normal, what more could he want?
With that in mind, he let himself sink deep into his volcano for much needed sleep.
As the years passed, the death of the Three Headed Demon didn't cross Rodan's mind or changed him drastically, something like that monster should be left behind and forgotten, until one fateful day when he encountered the Kaiju who killed them. He heard about the lizard that saved the world over the years, too many times in fact, it quickly became boring and annoying. It was like there was nothing else to talk about throughout the land, but the Lizard that saved it. He honestly didn't see the big deal, so what if he could shoot beams out of his mouth. So did the Demon and they had three compared to just one. Who cares if he could also heal himself and reshape the world with his tremendous power and fierce Roar, the Golden Demon was just the same way. Why isn't anyone curious about where the Lizard came from? He just came out of nowhere just like the Three Headed Demon. If anything, the rest of the world should be fearing the lizard instead of seeing him as some Alpha King. As far as he is concerned, the Lizard could be the next biggest threat to the world, but again, that was his opinion. A "bad one" apparently to anyone who would listen and talk to him. His dismissive opinion of the Lizard was always shot down by those who saw him as their Savior. He lost a lot of respect from his group of companions and was shunned by others for being a "bitter, jealous Loser" among other things. No one was allowed to talk about the lizard who saved so many lives in a bad way. Nobody!
The day he encountered the Lizard started out normal enough. He was hungry, the last meal he managed to eat in his desert wasteland home was days ago, so he decided to treat himself by grabbing something more filling from the ocean. It was a long flight, about half a day to get there nonstop, but it was worth it to fetch a large fish or whale kaijus. Even better, since he knew where the best spots were to catch a quick meal instead of wasting time and energy hunting. Sadly, his all day flight to a nice meal didn't go according to plan because apparently the Lizard also knew where to go for a good catch and when he slowly approached, thinking they would mind each other's business, it became clear the Asshole was not in the mood for company…
He should've known better as he struggled his way back to his home. His mother always told him he had a smart mouth and it would be the death of him one day if he wasn't careful, but he couldn't help it. He's been that way all his life and his way of getting out of sticky situations. His Sire was the same way, probably why he died when he was still a baby chick. Though, he can now see what his mother was talking about since bad mouthing the Lizard and getting into a fight with him nearly cost him his life. He was just lucky the Lizard got distracted to deliver the final blow…
He winced when he landed on top of his volcano and compelled himself to look behind at the charred wound on his left shoulder blade. It's been hours and smoke and lava blood were still seeping out.
…Very lucky.
And here he thought he was immune to any heat or fire-type elements, but the blue beam…whatever that blue beam was that came out of the Lizard's mouth wasn't made out of fire because when it stuck him, it stuck him hard that he nearly dropped out of the sky like hailstones and it actually cracked his thick armor and made him bleed. He never felt so much pain in his life, hell the Lizard managed to bite him and wack him in the chest with his tail, but that was nothing compared to that powerful beam.
What a bad day. No food. He lost a fight and was now seriously injured. What else can go wrong? He was about to sink into his volcano and sulk for the rest of the evening when he heard and felt something coming behind him. Fearing the worst, he drew his claws and turned around with his wings spread wide, ready to strike, only to be blinded by a bright white glow. He quickly covered his tired eyes with his wing and let out a loud groan.
Whoever you are, stop blinding me with that damn light and go away! He shouted, letting the stranger know he was not in a good mood.
Instead of getting ambushed or a terrible tongue lashing, the only thing he heard was a quiet, soft response. Sorry…
Once the light dimmed down, he slowly lowered his wing to reveal the "Distraction" that saved him from being killed by the Fat Lizard. Great, the Lizard sent the fluffy bug to finish the job. Oh, it's only you Fluffy…What the hell do you want?! He growled before lowering his wings down from his fighting stance. In fact, what the hell are you even doing here?
There was no need to feel threatened by the bug in his opinion, she looked far too dainty and innocent to kill someone, let alone put up a fight. She was a rare creature from what he gathered by the jealous females and drooling males he encountered in his young adult life. The bug of endless beauty with her pure white fur, colorful wings and glowing blue eyes. The one that never ages and the only one on land, water and sky that can come back to life. A heart of pureness and innocence and willing to do anything for a kaiju in need. She let out a small chitter, unsure if she should come closer to him or not, before gracefully flying down towards his volcano home. That little flight alone covered their surroundings in shimmer dust, giving her a very angelic glow.
He's not going to lie, she was a pretty little thing, any male in their Breeding Age would be a fool not to try to court her or convince her to nest with them for a one night fling, but something was off with her. So many Suitors would come from all directions of the world to impress her only to be ignored or rejected. A clear warning sign in his opinion about the female. Either she had very high standards or just plain difficult to be around. It was hard to say, he would see her fly around once or twice a year, but never interact with her. Fire Demons like him were not approachable kaijus to begin with. Not that he ever had those thoughts about the fluffy moth. The bug was pretty and that was it for him. He may be a Lecherous Male (Previous lovers' words, not his), but even he knows where to draw the line, plus from what he heard, she didn't find Fire Demon pleasant to be around. Of course, that was coming from a fellow fire demon from his old flock that got rejected, so who knows if that was a lie or not. She was here after all.
Then things got weird. The Moth was known to travel all over the place, hopping from one herd, Pack or flock, but never truly settled down then out of the blue, she was spotted by many onlookers hanging around the Lizard. Some were even saying she was there when he defeated the Golden Demon. That really pissed off a lot of males since none of them couldn't go near her anymore with the Lizard kaiju watching from a distance.
She blinked from the name "Fluffy" before calmly clearing her throat. I didn't mean to bother you, Fire Demon, but I just wanted to know if you were okay?
He stared at her like she was the dumbest thing in the sky. Any other kaiju so small and delicate like her would have the common sense not to seek out a predator bird like him. And they definitely wouldn't come close to him to ask about his Well Being. What?
She flew a little closer to him, despite clearly bothered by the tremendous heat coming from his volcano, and repeated herself. I just wanted to know if you were okay?
No, he wasn't ok, but that was beside the point. He was confused. Why? He had to ask, giving her a strange look.
Forgive me for intruding, but your wound looks really bad-
You think!? He snapped, causing her to flinch a bit, but she remained calm and composed. You have some nerve to follow me back to my turf to gloat over what that Fat Lizard did! He said, slightly shifting a bit, so she could see his shoulder blade. I was just trying to find something to eat and that Brute acted like he owns the whole damn world and tried to kill me.
She sighed. I apologized for Gojira's actions. Social interaction is not one of his strong traits. Believe me, I had a firm talking to him about what happened after you flew off.
If you came all this way to beg for my forgiveness, you might as well leave, bug. He said, before settling himself in his volcano. Hoping a couple of days in the lava will heal his wound.
Although, forgiveness would be grateful, I'm actually here to see if you wanted your wound healed? She said, bowing her head to him to show some respect to her offering.
He was halfway in the lava when he looked up to her. Heal my wound? He questioned, which she nodded in response. Curious, he tilted his head. Now how in the world are you going to do that?
She smiled, I'm quite a Healer, wounds that would take days or weeks to recover, I can have them heal up in a matter of minutes. She said, with pride in the voice.
He didn't buy it. That's hard to believe, how could something so small and pretty have that type of power?
Whether it was from the heat coming from the lava or his words, the bug turned a little red in her face and wings. It actually got a small chuckle out of him because he wasn't trying to flirt with her. Such a flaw for a bird like him, it's always so hard for him to turn off his charm when there's a female around. Even after her little bodyguard blasted a huge hole in his back. She cleared her throat. There's a lot I can do. I might not be powerful when it comes to brute strength, but I am helpful in other situations like healing and if you can spare a few minutes for me, I'll be glad to show you.
He snorted from the sheer silliness of the bug. If it's that important to you Sweetheart, then go ahead. He said, believing very well there's no way something like her would be that dumb enough to come near him.
That seems to beam her up a bit. Wonderful, if you can step away from the volcano, I can start the healing process. She said, searching for a place to land that wouldn't burn her delicate features.
Oh no…He said with a wicked smirk. He might as well have some fun to lighten his bad mood. If you're THAT determined to heal this painful wound, you're going to have to come closer to the volcano. I don't mind sharing. He said, pointing to the edge that had hot lava seeping out from different spots.
She gave him a look. I'm not trying to be rude, but I can't go near things like lava or fire.
Why not? Am I too hot for you? He asked, while looking at his nails. Nicely chisel and coated with leftover soot.
No, my wings could burn up if I'm not careful and this heat is unbearable.
Yeah, I always have that effect on females at first…He then stared at her, his eyes glowing bright yellow...But once everything is done, they always come back for more.
Unimpressed, the bug sighed, I may not be immune to fire like you are, Fire Demon…but that charm is another story. She said, turning her back on him. I was trying to be nice, but I guess Gojira was right, this was a waste of my time. Sorry for bothering you. And with that, she flew off without even looking back.
Aw, don't be that way, Beauty Bug. I don't bite unless you're into that stuff. He shouted, getting another embarrassing flinch from the stupid moth. He didn't have to see it to know she was blushing bright red now from his remark. Once she was out of his sight, he made a small chuckle before calling it a night.
He wasn't expecting her to come back, but she did and like the last time, she came during one of his embarrassing moments. He underestimated the wound the blasted lizard gave him. It took a lot longer for the wound to heal and during that time, he grew really, really sick. As if the beam from the Lizard's mouth poisoned him to the point, he was too weak to fly let alone walk around to stretch his legs. The wound also left a bad scar on his back and for some reason, he can't expand his left wing all the way out without making a painful popping noise. And he tried.
He was balancing on the rim of his volcano, preparing to fly into the air when he heard her voice right behind him.
I see your wound didn't heal properly.
His senses were off due to his illness to notice her approach, so of course it freaked him out to the point he lost balance and tumbled head first down his volcano home. It was a bad fall to an already bad morning because he landed on his tender back with a loud thud and ended up blacking out from the sheer pain shooting through his spine and wings. When he finally opened his eyes, he saw a pair of bright, glowing blue staring down at him. Rather too close for his comfort.
Are you alright? She asked, shifting a little bit to look at him closer.
He let out a weird gurgle sound and tried to move only to screech out in pain.
Oh dear, I'm sorry, did you reopen your wound again.
He tried to move again. No, you're stepping on my wing, get off! He pulled his wing out from under her, nearly causing her to fall flat on her behind before sitting up to rub his already massive headache. What the hell happened? He muttered to himself.
I'm sorry, She repeated as gently as she could. I didn't mean to step on your wing…or scare you like that.
Offended, he glared at her. I wasn't scared, what in your right mind thought I would be scared of you?
She tried to smile to dull his annoyance. You did tumble down your volcano home after seeing me.
He felt sluggish, And you thought sneaking up behind was a good idea? You're lucky my senses are off due to some sickness. Trust me, it wouldn't be that hard to slash your neck wide open.
She blinked, If you're trying to scare me it's not going to work.
This is a threat, why is that so hard to believe or are you that dense?
She straightened up and gave him a stern look. Fire Demon, if you really wanted to kill me, you would have done it already. You would have done it already the first time I came over here.
He could literally feel the smoke coming out from the top of his head thanks to the moth fueling his bad mood. What do you want!? He squawked so loudly, it blew her white fur back a bit.
Despite his outburst, she remains calm and chitter a bit. I just came here to check on your wound.
It was a struggle, but he managed to get himself up and took a few steps forward to get away from her. Well, that sucks for you because you only wasted your time. You made it there's something wrong with me, but I'm fine.
Do you really believe that? She asked.
I would think I would know my own body, Moth.
I can sense your concerns and by the way your wing is dragging on the floor it didn't heal properly and that's not an illness you're trying to get over, it's actually an infection flowing through you. She said as calmly as possible.
An infection would make sense when he thought about it because it was rare, very rare, for Fire Demons to get sick out of the blue. What was even more baffling was how confident the Moth was with her evaluation. He rubbed his tired, dried eyes. And how would you know this just by looking at me?
She looked down, looking guilty all of a sudden before pointing at her head. I'm sorry, but when you were out I had to take a look in your mind to see what type of illness you were suffering from. Trust me, I don't invade other Kaijus' thoughts without their permission unless it was an emergency.
My-my Mind? You would…"looking"...in my mind? He asked just to make sure he wasn't hearing things due to his fall.
She nodded nervously. Correct…you're weird. She said, giving him a look.
Weird?! What do you mean I'm weird, what exactly did you see?! He panicked.
She held her claws up in defense, Pardon my joke, I thought a little humor would lighten the mood.
Are you crazy?! He snapped, taking a few steps closer to her. You think you can invade my home and look inside my mind and get away with it? Fuck, what did you do to me!? What did you see? "Mind Readers" like you can't be trusted! He shouted while grabbing his head in fear. He didn't feel different, but he can't be too sure. There were very few kaijus out there with that particular trait and knew how to use it in order to get their way and were considered the Land's biggest threat next to the Parasite Muto Population, but all that changed when the Three Headed Demon appeared. "Mind Readers" themselves, but much more sinister and twisted. Most of the "Mind Readers" kaijus were wiped out thanks to the Golden Demon except for a few Root ones since they were able to hide deep in the underwater darkness of the ocean. A place not even the all powerful Evil ones like them could reach.
She frowned, clearly insulted. I know you're upset with me, but please refrain yourself from comparing me to the other "Mind Readers" or that treacherous Fallen Star. I use my gifts for the greater good, not for evil.
OH, and I'm supposed to believe that?!
She sighed, You said you don't fear me and have already threatened me twice, so why is it so hard to believe I'm not here to cause harm? Like you said, you could have easily killed him in a matter of seconds, but you didn't. I can sense your concern about your health and saw that you haven't flown in days due to your wing, so would you rather continue on with this frustrating suffering or do you think you can trust me just a little to help you?
His vision was getting blurry again, just a bad side effect from the infection slowly killing him. He looked down at his wing; he couldn't stretch out completely and could see the worry look in the Bug's eyes as they switched back and forth between his messed up wing and pleading for him to accept her help. You're not going to leave until this is done, are you? He asked, being blunt and she slightly shrugged her shoulders, not knowing how to answer that, but her face said it all. Realizing she's never going to let this go or leave him alone, he caved. So…you said you can "Heal" me, completely? He asked, nonchalantly. Feeling stupid for some reason.
His question literally beamed her with bright colors, Yes, of course. She said, getting a little closer to him while bringing out her sharp, scythe-like claws. When she got close enough, she placed them down on his shoulder and pressure him to turn around.
What are you doing? He asked, slightly startled, accidentally flaring up his flames from his wings. She already read his thoughts once, he was not going to make that same mistake twice.
She took a step back from getting burned before swallowing down her nerves to continue her step by step healing process. Relax, I just need a clear look at your wound in order for me to use my healing powers.
He rolled his eyes and turned around so his back could face her. She made a slight wince sound, I've seen Gojira's beam blow up mountains and leave holes in the ground and once burn a much smaller kaiju to a crisp…you're lucky you were able to dodge a direct blow.
He chuckled, Or maybe your Mate just sucks at aiming. I guess he's not all high and mighty like he thought. He said, waiting for her to call out for his rudeness and insults. Power means nothing, you don't have the speed, my Sire would always say.
When he didn't get it, he looked over his shoulder to see her focusing on his wound while her eyes and wings began to glow. Now hold still, this might hurt…She said, calmly.
Hurt? What do you mean it might hur-
She jammed her sharp claw right into his infected wound causing him to screech out so loud, he nearly clamped down on his tongue. You need to hold still. She said, again while a bright blue glow started to seep into his body.
He took a couple of deep breaths and grabbed hold of the ground to keep himself settled and hissed. What the hell are you doing to me, Bug?!
I'm trying to heal you, now stay still, so I can concentrate. She said, digging her claw deeper into his flesh.
She was doing something alright, but it didn't feel like he was healing. It felt like his whole body was shifting around inside out. The sudden urge to stand up straight forced him to fix his slouch posture, hearing his spine pop and crack in the process. The pain he felt for weeks started to subside and filled his body with a warm, relaxing sensation. He couldn't help, but let out a small purr which he quickly swallowed when he heard the bug giggling gently from his reaction. After one last press she put on his back, his entire body glow bright and blue before fading back to his normal colors of red and orange and went completely still.
Better? She asked, before taking a few steps back to give him space.
His eyes blinked a few times before stretching out his wings to get a good look at him. There was no pain, he didn't feel any sickness, he could actually move and expand his wings out as far as he could without feeling any stiffness. Oh kaiju…He said, with a big grin before looking behind his shoulder to see that not only was the wound fully healed, it looked like it never happened in the first place. What did you do? He asked, looking down at the flames in his wings. Even his fire was hotter and brighter than before. I feel healthier even before that fat lizard stuck me hard with his beam. It's almost like I gain back a hundred years of my life. He smiled wickedly before looking up at the sky full of smoke and dancing embers thanks to his Volcanic home. Even his surroundings felt new and refreshing. Just think of all the brawls he can win due to his new boost of energy, the females he can attract and even the little creatures he can bully around just for the fun of it. Hell, he might even go back and give that Grumpy lizard a piece of his mind.
I healed you, Fire Demon…who clearly has a hard time understanding my words.
He finally looked at her, completely ignoring that weak sly remark and flinched from her sudden change of appearance. Whoa, what happened to your face? You look pale? He asked, slightly chuckling.
That bright glow and shimmers she had around her were gone and her wings and eyes were duller than they were a few minutes ago. With half-lidded eyes, she smiled tiredly. While I have the power to heal others, it does come with a price, I'm afraid. She said, sitting down to take a breather.
He strikes a pose, readying himself to take off for a much needed flight. Man, he felt great and hungry. Oh and what's that? Energy? I wouldn't be so dramatic about it, Bug, most kaijus would just sleep it off.
That's a strange way to say thank you, Fire Demon. She said, calmly.
He gave her a look, feeling smug. Why in the world would I do that?
Stunned, the bug stared at him without saying a single word. Silly Thing, was she really expecting him to praise her for her help? The same way the Fat Lizard wanted everyone to bow down to him for defeating the Golden Demon? No thanks. What seems like forever, she finally spoke. Stammering out her words and clearly hurt and offended. You were weak and injured and I healed you, so I-
You thought you deserve a Thank You? He asked, slightly raising his voice. He really wanted to laugh about it, but even he wasn't that cruel.
The sudden tone in his voice made her flinch and she took a step back to keep space between them. Please, if he really wanted to attack her, he would've done it already. There's nothing wrong in showing a little gratitude.
He rolled his eyes. I didn't ask for your help. I didn't ask for you to track me down and bother me, female, that was your choice. I wouldn't even be in this mess if you would have kept your out of control Asshole of a Mate in check in the first place.
Which is why I needed to heal you, Fire Demon, you didn't deserve to be treated that way.
Well, I'm healed up so there's no need for you to see me as a charity case anymore. Your good deed of the day is done, so bye now.
She frowned, clearly hurt for trying to care for someone she didn't even know and for a moment he felt bad. I don't see you as a charity case-
I said Bye now. He repeated himself before soaring up into the sky to test out his new wings and to get away from her and those disappointing blue eyes. He shook his head, trying to swallow down that feeling of being cruel to the Bug. She was just trying to help him, but again, he didn't ask for it and the only reason he allowed her to treat him was so she could finally leave him alone. He shouldn't feel guilty over that or ditching her if that matters. There was no guilt whatsoever. It's not his fault she was naive for the choices she made or her poor judge of character. Yes, no guilt. He was not the bad male here.
Despite trying to convince himself he did nothing wrong, he stayed away from his turf for the rest of the night. Making sure to give the Bug enough time to leave and never come back.

After that encounter with the bug, life went on as normal as always Rodan,...well as normal as the world can be during its healing time and soon another year had passed. He did have to admit, surviving had become a lot easier now since most of the plant-eating tiny creatures and Kaijus were coming out of hiding. It was like a chain reaction forming in front of his eyes. As the plant life and drinkable water increased, the more kaijus were returning from the lands underneath the surface thus bringing out the predators as well. Though the bad side of this was the enormous increase of kaijus pairing up and bringing new life into the world. It seems like everywhere he went he would find new herds, flocks and packs forming up, males looking after their mates that were Carrying or protecting their nests holding fresh batches of eggs and even witness one of his fellow Fire Demon's future heirs hatch from their eggs. It was nice and warming knowing his species were able to survive extinction and given a chance to repopulate, but it eventually led to him losing his home in the process. More flocks meant more territory being taken away from single Flyers like himself and it finally happened to him a couple of days ago. He had gone out for a fly only to return home to find his volcanoes and land being taken over by a flock of eight Fire Demons. Hell, the females were already building their nest and settling in like it was no big deal that they just stole another kaiju's home. As much as he wanted to fight for his turf, there were five males against him and they made it clear if he attacks, they will kill him on the spot and "use his bones for their future hatchings to naw on." So off he went to find a new home.
On the fourth day of looking for a new home, he was combing part of the ocean full of scattered islands, thinking an island would be a safer and more secluded place to live, when he spotted a large, glowing larva roaming around on one of the little pieces of land. There wasn't much on the island, just sand, grass and a bundle of large trees like the rest of the little islands around it, but what left him scratching his head was how did the larva get there in the first place since they were miles and miles from land and why was it alone? He didn't see any other kaijus around beside a few tiny birds. The Thing didn't even look worried or lost either since it was just sitting there, enjoying a small meal of leaves and a small pile of meat mush. Odd, you would think something tiny and seen as a food source to Flyers would be a little more aware.
His train of thought was cut short when the larva noticed his shadow casting above it and looked up to make eye contact. He nearly fell out of the sky when he noticed the shade of color in the larva's eyes and recognized them from long ago. (No way) He thought, while shooting down towards the island. Ignoring the look of panic on the Larva's face as it tries to crawl away from his intense landing. And it was intense. When he landed, he made the land shake followed by his wings releasing a large burst of flames and smoke.
Once the smoke cleared and he folded his wings in, he smirked down at the brown little larva. Well, I never thought I would see you again, what the hell happened to you? He asked.
At first, the Larva's eyes narrowed as if it had no idea what he was talking about until it crawled over to get a closer look at him. For a moment, he thought he made a mistake until the Larva's face lit up slightly and let out a rumbling chitter. Fire Demon? She questioned.
In the fiery flesh. He said, putting on his signature smile. So it really was her. That dainty, annoying Moth with large colorful wings was actually a Grub. A pudgy, dark color Grub to be exact. You're looking good by the way. He joked.
She stood up, trying to make herself look a little taller and didn't know how to react to his comment. I'm surprised you recognized me. It's rare for kaijus to see me in my…well…most vulnerable state.
It wasn't too hard, He said, looking at his claws, Those eyes of yours are a rare color.
Just like before, her tiny body turned bright red from his easy compliment. That's probably the nicest thing you ever said to me. I'll even take that as the "Thank you" you never gave me for healing you back then. She said, with a smile.
Whoa there, pudgy, don't dig too deep into it. You're lucky I noticed your eye color or else you would've been food by now. He said, in his defense. Not that he would really eat her. Larvas often leave a bad aftertaste in his mouth and are too fatty for his diet. It's never wise to be out in the open like you are.
The color in her slightly faded, clearly a little uncomfortable from his sly remark. Oh, well, that's sweet of you, I guess. She said, slightly backing away from him.
He chuckled, Don't be afraid, I didn't say that to scare you. I'm just being honest, Grub isn't my favorite type of food. Too much fat, Flyers like myself need leaner meats to keep us fit for long flights.
She slouched slightly. It's natural for a Grub to look "Pudgy." I need to feed constantly in order to prepare myself for my next stage of life. Hence why I was eating those piles of leaves that you're burning as we speak. She said, gesturing at the leaves with her head, calmly.
He looked down and noticed the leaves were now a pile of black ash with a few tiny embers slowly fading out. He calmly kicked them away, feeling quite proud of his hot flames. Tssk, that's nothing, you should see my flames when I'm really at my peak.
She nodded, but clearly wasn't impressed. Interesting, but now, thanks to you, my day-long work of gathering those leaves from the trees was a complete waste. She said, though she didn't sound too upset about it. With that she turned around and started to crawl over to the nearest palm tree.
He stayed quiet while watching her struggle to crawl up the large tree in order to reach the wide, spiked-shaped leaves and couldn't help, but feel like he was overstaying his welcome. I guess I'll be heading out now , you know, so many places to be, so many kaijus to visit and rich their days with my presents…
You're not overstaying your welcome, Fire Demon…I don't mind the company. She said, as she reached the top of the palm and took a bit to enjoy the cool breeze.
Baffled that she knew what he was thinking, he stuttered a bit. H-h-how did you know that? Did you read my mind without my permission again?
I can't read kaiju's mind unless I touch them. I was just sensing your nervousness. She said before gnawing on one of the giant leaves.
He shrugged his shoulders. He can't really lash out on her over that. I just find it a bit odd to find you out here in the middle of nowhere. I mean, these little islands are miles away from the big lands…
A few piles of leaves fell to the ground and she gently wiped her mouth with her little claws. I'm here for my safety. I'm getting ready to cocoon so I can reach my adult form again. The problem is once I'm in my cocoon, I won't be able to protect myself.
Yeah, about that…He heard rumors about how her life works, but still it was hard to believe a kaiju could have that sort of gift…How…how the hell did you go from a flying bug to…this? He asked, pointing one of his claws at her while she slowly came down from the tree.
Well, about a month after I healed you, I unfortunately died and went back into my egg. She said, like it was no big deal.
He stared at her. Died? So the bug that was bothering me a year ago is gone and you're…some sort of Heir?
She giggled, In a way yes and no, it's still me just in a new body. I can't really die, Fire Demon, I just go though a new life cycle in order to stay immortal. I'm thousands of years old the last time I count.
That sounds…gross…He said, ignoring her stunned reaction…but hey, what a way to live. Many kaijus would kill to have that eternal youth. Just think of all the possibilities.
She shrugged as she picked up one of her leaves to eat it. It has its moments, I love seeing how the world and all the kaijus change throughout the years, but that's just it, everyone changes, everyone gets old and dies and never comes back while I continue on living over and over and over again. It's hard to make a connection with other kaijus when you know their inevitable fate.
He stared at her. Damn, for a bright and bubbly thing, you're such a Downer.
She tssk, I'm not trying to be melancholy about it, that's just the truth about my life. She said, before taking another bite of her giant leaf before offering him a piece. You look hungry, would you like one?
I'm always hungry. He joked, trying to scare her a bit again just to see her flash her unpredictable colors, but when she didn't buy it and just offered him the leaf again. He stepped back. Does it look like I eat plants? Are you that dense? He asked, trying to put up a firm front.
She shrugged, I'm just trying to be polite. If you want, you can have that meat mush over there that Goji brought.
He looked over at the meat and just by looking at it and the tiny flies buzzing around it, he can tell it's been out in the sun for quite awhile. He cleared his throat, Yeeeeah, no thanks. It doesn't look healthy….Especially knowing it came from that Lizard's teeth, he thought. Who knows what kind of germs that Brute was carrying.
What a shame, I hate for it to go to waste. You would think after being Companions for quite a while, he would know meat and bones are not part of my food source. She said, slightly annoyed, but in a cheerful way. The same way a mate would joke around about their partner's flaws.
He couldn't help, but make a smart remark. How sad for you that your bulky Mate doesn't listen. I'm surprised you don't find that as a bad sign.
She paused, unsure how to take that, in fact, she looked slightly disappointed, but quickly pushed that aside. I sense you have some displeasure toward Goji?
What? After getting shot out of the sky by him, I'm supposed to be grateful? He asked.
She shook her head. No, it's not like Goji never dealt with such negativity before. Being born with a rare gift like his doesn't exactly draw the right crowd. I just find it amazing and appalling how quickly kaijus' attitude changed after what Goji did to save the world.
Yeah, yeah, everyone knows about his self-proclaimed title as Alpha and King, but don't expect me to bow down to him because his Little Queen told me to. He said, giving her a look.
Despite the insults, she slightly shook her head. I'm not the Little Queen as you call it, Fire Demon, I'm simply his companion. I look out for him and he protects me during vulnerable times. When you saw me on this island, I'm sure you were curious how I got here in the first place, right?
I just thought you were a good swimmer or got washed up here after a bad Tsunami, He joked, But I guess your great King brought you here.
She nodded, feeling a small sense of pride. Like I said, I look out for him and in return, he protects me. He told me it was the least he could do since I was the only one who helped him during his battles with the Fallen Star.
The Fallen Star, that's a new name for the Golden Demon or the Devil with three Heads. He thought among other things she said. He couldn't help, but feel stunned how someone like her actually went up against the Golden Demon despite having a small, delicate frame and no way to really defend herself if she only had Healing Traits. Granted, she had "Mind Powers," but so did the Golden Demon and that might have been hard for her to use against them. You sure love putting yourself in dangerous situations, don't you? He asked.
What makes you think that? She asked.
Well, you're here talking to me, you hang out with that Fat Lump and you said you went up against the Golden Demon to bring him down. I think being immortal has made you a little crazy.
I see it as just making me braver than most kaijus since I'm not afraid to die for what's right including saving the Lands from that Evil Monster. As for you and…"The Fat Lump" as you put it, if I had sensed any danger, I would've left a long time ago and wouldn't even be talking to you in this stage of life. She said, looking over her pudgy larva self. Besides, there's nothing wrong with me having a Companion like Goji around. From one Rare, lonely kaiju to another, there's a sense of acceptance and understanding. He needs me for support and I need him for protection.
Are you sure about that? Why would someone like you need protection if you can live forever? He asked, while shifting around a bit in the sand since he was not used to the soft surface. Sounds to me, someone likes the Lizard's companionship more than the protection. He teased, hoping to get some kind of dirt out of her he can use to joke about later. Companionship between two different kaijus was not unusual, especially during these healing times, but between a male and female where one is considered a Predator and the other one is Prey is a bit off in his opinion. Even odder when the Prey seems upset whenever he accidentally calls the Lizard her mate. Interesting. He's seen a few kaijus breed outside their own species, hell, he had his flings with other Flyers that weren't Fire Demons like him, but something about these two just didn't fit in his mind.
Before she could respond or show that light blush of red all over her little body, the ground beneath them started to rumble with the water receding back way too fast for his liking. What the? He questioned as the rumble grew louder and stronger to the point he nearly lost balance. When he looked back at the Larva, he was baffled at how calm and still she was, in fact she looked rather joyous and eager. What's going on?
Oh, Goji is on his way and like always he has to make a grand entrance. She said, before crawling backwards, away from the shore. If you don't like your wings getting wet, you might wanna fly up. She said, head gesturing something from behind him.
He looked back and saw not only enormous tidal waves coming towards them, but giant, sharp back plates cutting through the water at tremendous speed from afar. Oh shit! He shouted, flaring up his wings and expanding them as fast as possible to fly. Without even thinking and completely out of his character, he scurried up into the air and flew over to the Larva and grabbed her with his large, sharp talons.
Hey! She screeched as he flew up into the sky before the waves could hit.
When he was high enough, he looked down to see the tiny island completely engulfed by the waves till there were nothing, but a few trees left in sight. Sadly the islands next to the Larva's safe place was also engulfed by the ocean water.
Fire Demon, put me down! The Larva panic, while squirming in his large talons.
He looked down at her and noticed the fear in her eyes. What's with the yelling, you should be thankful I got you out of there before you were washed away again.
Still she had this frightened look on her face. I would've been fine, it doesn't take that long for the water to retreat. Besides, I don't want to cause any trouble or be up this high.
He flew up a little higher in order to find some dry land to settle, only to notice the back plates from earlier were gone. Was he just seeing things, he thought, but quickly brushed it off. Up this high? What do you mean, up this high? You're a Flyer for crying out loud.
No, I'm a Grub with no wings and I can already feel myself slipping out from your grip. She panicked.
Geez, that wouldn't happen if you, I don't know, stay still! He shouted sarcastically.
Just put me down, please. She begged, her eyes glowing brighter in irritation and fear.
He shook his head as he gently glided his way down to the nearest island, Females, they want an all powerful male to protect them and save them, but will still find something to complain about-
Is there a problem here?
A small chill went down his spine as he slowly looked down to see a pair of golden eyes peeking out of the water along with those back plates he spotted earlier. The sudden surprise caused him to make a rough landing to the ground, nearly crushing the Larva in the process. Luckily for them, the water was receding, but the wet dirt still stung like hell on his wings and armor. That was the least of his worries, he was probably going to have a sore rear from the rough landing later on and whatever injuries the Lizard was going to inflict if any harm came to the Bug. He looked over at the Larva who appeared to be fine except for the clump of mud she was trying to wipe from her face. His attention turned back over to the Lizard, who was slowly standing up to make his full appearance from his watery hideout. Shadowing the bright sun from him, the Lizard stood tall and mighty and clearly, trying his hardest not to stomp on him for hurting his little bug companion. Still, he will not show the Brute he was scared.
With that, he flashed the Lizard a sly smile and stood up as tall as he could to match. Well, well, well, Lizard, we meet once again, huh? He asked.
Without missing a beat, the Lizard tilted his head, Do I know you?
Damn, that stung harder than he wanted. Was the Lizard stupid? Did he really not know who he was and forgot what he did to him more than a year ago? He fumed, You should! You're the one who left a giant hole in my back by that blue crap you blasted out of your mouth.
The Lizard's eyes slowly trail over to the Larva as if contemplating whether he should tear him apart in front of the young female…or baby Grub in this situation. At the corner of his eye, he can see the Grub giving the Lizard a pleading, "Please behave" look. The Lizard then rolled his eyes before turning his attention back to him. Oh…now I remember. He said, rather calmly for his comfort as he took two heavy steps towards him. Nearly blocking all of the sun's light. You're the One who wouldn't shut his fucking mouth until I shut it up for you. Damn shame, you survived.
The Grub sighed, Language Gojira. Remember Good matters go a long, long way.
He couldn't help, but chuckle from…Gojira's…Fat Lizard's remake. What can I say, your aim stinks. You're no match for a Flyer's agility. He said with pride while looking at his large claws.
Is that so? Gojira asked, taking another large step towards him. Because I never miss and the only reason my beam hit your shoulder instead of that empty shell you call a head is because Mosura didn't want me to spill blood all over the place.
Mosura? Who's Mosura? He thought until Gojira continued. Now again, is there a problem here? Or were you just using your useless time to bother Mosura in order to grab my attention and give me another headache?
Goji, be nice, he was just flying around and flew down to talk to me. The Grub said, trying to keep the tension down.
Gojira snorted, Yeah, sure, Mosura, so catching him nearly flying off with you in his large talons was just a figment of my imagination? What's the point of me protecting you when you're allowing kaijus like him squirm their way into your personal space?
And I deeply appreciate it, Goji, for your protection, but it's been days since my last encounter with another kaiju-
-He's a Predator and you're still a Grub. I know you love this whole "All Kaijus are Good" thing, but for crying out loud, have some common sense here.
He couldn't help, but scoffed at the Lizard's attitude. Calm down, Fatso, like I told…Mosura…He slightly paused at her name. Realizing after all these encounters with the Bug, he never figured out her name. Did she even know his name, she could read minds after all…here, I don't eat squishy larva grub like her. We were just talking.
Well, talking is done, leave her alone and go away. Gojira said in a matter of fact tone. The last thing I need on my back is her permanent death because some Weak Bird couldn't take no for an answer.
He held his claws up in defeat. Fine, fine, you win, I was about to leave anyway since the stench of your presence was making it hard to breathe. He said, with all the pride he could muster. Giving the clearly offended Lizard a smirk before bending down to Mosura's level. She was too busy shaking her head to realize how close he was to her. See you around, Sweet Thing, let me know when you're done with foul smelly Seawater and want something a little more Smoky.
Instead of getting a giggle or a bright red blush response, she stared at something in front of her and panicked. Gojira! Don't-
His eyes shifted to see a giant tail coming towards him before everything went black….
He wasn't sure how long he was out, but when he came to it, he realized he was still on the tiny island, it was dark and the Lizard and Mosura were gone. His head was pounding and had a throbbing pain shooting down from his right cheek to his shoulder. When he slowly lifted himself up from the wet dirt, he went over the ocean to look at his reflection and wince. The Lizard's hit did a number on his rock-armor skin. There was now a large spider's web crack pulsing bright thanks to his orange blood glow and from the looks of it, his right wing got dislocated. Dangling there and useless like the sad pitiful thing he was. He grumbles at his predicament. It's going to be painful putting his wing back into place and would have to wait a day or two for it to feel better enough to fly safely and be stuck on a small island without much food or company…
He huffed and cracked his neck to ease the soreness and couldn't help, but look up at the sky. At least the sky was clear and full of stars. A perfect night was flying for Kaijus with Wings.
0000000000
He told himself that would be the last time he would let the Moth interrupt his life, but as days turned into weeks that turned into months, he found himself thinking about her from time to time. Like out of the blue when he's bored or when he spotted a colorful plant or a clueless creature. As much as he wanted to tell himself her annoyance and present already caused him two major injuries, it still brought some sort of energy and entertainment back in his dull, boring life…not to mention, pissing off her Mountain of fat Companion was just an extra bonus and fuel to his mischievous behavior. "Same old Rodan, you're never going to change," he remembered his old companion used to say. May he Rest in Peace.
With that, he set off to find her, making sure to cover every part of the sky in case she was back to her Wing-like self and even went as far as collecting something shiny as a peace offering since his last encounters with her were rather painful and tense. After a couple of days flying around with no results, his gut told him to go back to those scattered islands to see if she was still there as the pudgy Grub. Sure enough, when he made it back to those islands, he found something alright, but it wasn't the tiny, color-changing Larva, but more of an oval-shaped, ball of silk resting against a pile of boulders and dead trees. Curious, he landed right next to it to get a better look. The air started to smell like burnt fur thanks to his wings burning the silk that was scattered all over the island, but he ignored it since he simply didn't care. He stood there, quietly while staring at the…what did she call it…Cocoon and didn't know what to say. What can he say? He didn't think he would catch her in this stage of life.
Bug…um…I mean…Mosura? He questioned, sounding stupid for talking to a ball of silk. Is it really you?
He took another step further, feeling the silk beneath him sizzle a bit from the fire of his large wings. The Cocoon started to glow with a blue aura as if she was aware of his presence. He's seen a lot of weird stuff in his life, but nothing like this. Bug Kaijus tend to hide out in their hives or in dark parts of a cave if they were in a weak state, not out in the open where they can easily get eaten. The bug either had no fear of anything in life or she really trusted her moody companion to keep her safe. It might be the first opinion since the Lizard was nowhere to be found again.
So…yeah, I was bored, so I thought why not visit the bug that wouldn't stop interfering in my life…He nervously laughed…you know, get a taste of your own doing. He scratched the back of his head…it definitely wasn't for the fact I was thinking about you or anything like that. He lied.
He stared at the cocoon, feeling stupid believing it was going to respond to him. By the way, great idea cocooning yourself out in the open. Very easy for Flyers to come down for a small snack. He said, sarcastically before remembering the small item he's been carrying in his large talons. Oh, I found this. He dropped a smooth tan color stone next to the cocoon. It's sap. Apparently this stuff hardens over time and becomes rocks. I know bug kaijus have a thing for tree sap so I think you can eat it?
Feeling awkward and overstaying his welcome, he sighed. Look, I don't know why I'm here or why I was thinking about you so suddenly…I guess it's not everyday, someone sought to seek you out and see how you are doing. Or in your case, clean up the mess your stupid companion left behind. He laughed, causing his wings to blow out more black smoke than he wanted.
More silence. In fact the only thing he could hear was the breeze and the heat boiling inside his flustered body. Anyway, here's a stone, try not to overreact when you come out and see it and I'll see you around…I guess. He said out loud before going back to him just staring at the cocoon and how lazily the blue glow moved around in a smooth motion. Was it the silk that was lighting up or the actual Cocoon. And how can something that looks so…soft…could be used as a protective shell. Just how soft was it? He thought, while raising his claw up and slowly moving it toward the Silky Cocoon. He hesitated at first, already seeing the silk slightly turning brown from his intense heat when he felt a very unfriendly vibe coming from behind him.
He quickly turned around and nearly had a heart attack when he realized the Lizard's head and back spikes were peeking out of the ocean. Waiting for him to come closer so he can snatch him by the neck and drown him. His backplates were already pulsing blue like some kind of warning sign. When the Lizard didn't say anything, he once again held up his claws in defense. Damn, for a bulky kaiju, you're a quiet swimmer. He said.
The one called Gojira snorted, sending a mist of water into the ocean. You would think with my stench, you would have noticed me right off the back. He said, coldly.
He swallowed, So, you were here-
It's not that hard to see a flash of orange flying over here from the water. Gojira said, calmly, making sure to keep their eyes locked.
Damn, this Lizard wasn't kidding with the whole protection thing. Look, I'm not here to cause trouble.
That's probably the smartest thing you ever said. The Lizard said in a serious tone. I guess my tail whipping in the face finally knocked some sense into you.
He turned his head to the left to reveal the deep cracks the lizard left behind on his face. Don't get him wrong, he loves his battle scars like any male would, but this was a little too much and it wasn't from an honorable brawl, it came from a male who couldn't take criticism or a joke. Nope, just a bad scar I wear as a reminder that some males don't fight fair. One word of advice, Lizard, females don't like males that take cheap shots. It shows how weak they are…
Gojira rolled his eyes. How about you use it as a reminder that I let you live, Fire Bird.
That's Rodan to you, my fat lizard friend. He said, holding his head up high though he could tell the sound of his name made the Lizard's eye twitch a bit. He did have a reputation among Flyers, but surely it didn't spread over to the Land Kaijus.
I really don't care about your name, Fire Bird. Now leave. He demanded, swimming back a little as if preparing himself to submerge underwater again.
Fed up, he glared. Do you have a problem with me? Am I stepping over some boundary I'm not aware of?!
Stunned that he didn't follow his demand, The Lizard stood up with only his knees deep under the ocean. Watch it, Bird. Mosura is not here to save you for the third time.
Look, I'm just flying by to drop off something. Ok. Trust me when I say this between male to male, if I wanted to do anything with her, I would've done it the first time she came around.
Yet, here you are, thinking about her, bothering her again and bringing her ridiculous things, oh yes, I really don't see anything going on here or your exact intentions. Gojira asked, suspiciously.
Exactly. So what's with all the death glares and threats? You don't like it when other males stare, if I recall she told me herself, you're just a companion.
Gojira took a step forward while letting his large tail swoosh around in the ocean. My duty is to protect her during this cycle. I owe her for what she did for me and I'm not going to fail at that because you refuse to leave her alone.
Not buying it, he scoffed, Are you sure about that? Are you sure you're not trying to eliminate some competition? If anything, from where I'm standing, you look a little threatened. Can't blame you, really. I can be quite a catch.
A small smile formed at the corner of the Lizard's cheek and he let out a low chuckle. You think you're the only male that tried this little game with Mosura. It's laughable and annoying to watch those Kaijus make a fool out of themselves because they don't understand the words "Get Lost."
He slouched, Again, if I wanted to do something or showed any interest, I would've done it already. She's alright, but I don't like her that way, but what title do you have controlling who she can be around? Remember she flew off your radar to see me and if she continues to do that, what type of male would I be turning her down?
Gojira snorted with this deadpanned look on his face. There's a lot of flaws my Companion has when it comes to kaijus, but even she has a unique taste. She's turned down somewhat better Suitors than you and wouldn't settle for some Nobody.
Feeling like he was getting nowhere with this Lizard and to prevent another smack in the face, he expanded his wings to ready himself to fly. I am not some Nobody, but if it prevents your egotistic balls from busting, I'll keep my distance. Like I said since you can't listen for shit, I don't even like her that way. You shouldn't be mad that I came to see her to say thanks for her help, you should be more concerned why she's coming to see me.
And with that, he flew up high into the sky before giving the Lizard a chance to say another word or use his teeth to do all the talking….

As time passed, the thoughts of the Moth and the uncomfortable encounters with the Fat Lizard, slowly faded away and became nothing more than an afterthought for Rodan and like anything else across the lands, life went on as usual. He finally found a new home on a small volcanic island, far away from populated areas, but close enough to the lands in case he decided to seek company. He was surprised no other Fire Demon claimed this small piece of land, the island was large enough for one volcano and while it didn't have much meat for him to eat, the trees and vegetation made the place colorful and refreshing with a great view of the endless ocean and the bright blue, clear sky. It was different than what he's used to or preferred, but maybe that was Nature's way of telling him it was time for a change. He was getting older, he used to live such wild days back then before the Golden Demon took over and now all he wants is a little peace and quiet…maybe even form some sort of companionship with another kaiju.
… and speaking of companionship.
Standing on the rim of his volcano, he turned his attention to the female Fire Demon standing right beside him. He crossed paths with her this morning while trying to find food and she was intrigued by his Spider's Web scar on his cheek. Well, one thing led to another and he managed to persuade her to come back to his Nest and "View the Sunset." And if he plays his charm right, shows off a little dance with his bright, fiery wings, he might be able to woo her for a more Coupling ritual.
Rhea was a spunky, energetic female and quite young even for his standards. Just a few years into her egg laying years with very little experience. In fact, the reason she was flying around before bumping into him ,was to find a new flock that would take her in. Her old flock lost all their males during the Golden Demon's terror, and the rest of them just scattered to start a new life. She's been on her own ever since.
So what do you think? He asked, while scooting a little bit closer to Rhea.
Rhea smiled, You're right, the sunset view here is beautiful. She said while her bright yellow eyes twinkle.
He grinned, looking at her and all her features. Her features really define her youth. Her armor hadn't even hardened or thickened yet, it was still bright orange and smooth. Her claws and talons were still short and dull and even her horns hadn't grown out fully yet, but she was pretty and he liked how the fire in her wings glowed and how light her smokey scent smelled. Yes, very beautiful. He hummed.
Rhea looked around, taking in the sky filling up with stars and his little island home. So, you weren't kidding, you really do live here all by yourself?
He nodded. Yup, yup, after I was mature enough to survive on my own, I left my flock and never looked back.
Her eyes narrowed, They kicked you out, didn't they?
He chuckled, Was it that obvious?
Yes, I never heard of a Flyer who didn't want to be part of a Flock. So what did you do? Did you challenge the Alpha and lose or did something really embarrassing?
He blinked, Unsure if he should answer that or not. The Alpha of his old Flock was courting a Pure Female at the time, but she ended up giving him her Purity instead. Back then, he didn't have any shame for what they did, he only did it for fun unlike her. She was the one who actually betrayed her future mate. Luckily for him, the Alpha was too distracted executing the female to notice his escape. He still lives in fear running into his old Alpha even after all these years. Ummm, you can say that. I wasn't really likable with my Fellow Males, but you could say the females couldn't get enough of me. He said, making the flames in his wings flare up with intense heat.
She hummed and scooted a little closer to him till they were touching chest to chest. It must be that charm of yours and survival instincts. She said, while tracing the thin cracks all over this cheek. Great traits to find in a potential male.
He held back his laughter at the "Potential Male" part. A slang used by females when deciding which male they want to mate with. Probably why Rhea was very easy to bring back to his nest and had that alluring scent. She was in the middle of her Breeding Cycle and saw him as a Suitor with very little research done about him. Damn, he was hoping Rhea was just a "Regular" looking for a male for a good time and a nightcap because he wasn't the Mate-for-Life type. At that moment, part of him wanted to call it off and tell her to leave, but the other part (the part that's been screaming for pleasure between his legs for so long) was begging him to keep going. Hopefully, she wasn't Pure, since the one thing he learned bitterly in life that Pure Females can be clingy.
He cleared his throat, feeling his heart pound when she started to trace her claw down his neck. Making him burn with arousal. Oh yeah, you have to have good survival instincts to be on your own. While it's fun not having to follow an Alpha male and make up the rules as you go, it does have dangerous drawbacks. Hence this scar. He said, pointing at it.
That must've been painful. Rhea purred while resting her head on his shoulder.
He smirked, before wrapping his wing around her. Nothing I couldn't handle. Just your everyday sparring with another male who thought he was stronger than me. He got a couple of lucky cheap shots that cracked my armor, but in the end I won that fight. He lied, but Rhea didn't need to know that.
He can tell Rhea wasn't that interested in all the details and most likely just feeding his pride in order to get him confident enough to make his move, so he pulled her a little closer. He was glad for the speeding seduction since it's been awhile since he performed his Mating Dance to a female and was a bit rusty. And no Flock around to treat your wounds or congratulate you? She stated, giving him a sad pout.
He followed with his own pout as well. I didn't need their help…or their praise…or judgment on how reckless my life is which is why I never bother to look for another group.
My, my, I can't imagine all those lonely nights. She said, lifting her head up, so she can stare deep into his eyes.
He tried very hard not to smile from how submissive she was being. Oh the nights are very lonely, but luckily for me, I have a very beautiful female to keep me company for cold, lonely nights like this.
She giggled, There's no such thing as cold nights for us, Rodan. Stop being so silly. Before lending forward to lick the tip of his beak. Which he returns by nuzzling his face against hers.
With their eyes glowing bright like the yellow sun, he leaned down to bite her neck to get her arousal going, intended to guide her to the side of the volcano, so it would be easier to mount her and do the deed when he suddenly felt her claws coming down on his shoulders to gently push him away. Wait…She whispered.
He let out a small groan before resting his forehead against her smooth shoulder. What's wrong? He asked since she was so eager to have sex just a few seconds ago. Second thoughts?
No…Rhea said, looking at something behind him. Someone or something is coming in our direction.
What are you talking about? He asked, looking over at the same direction Rhea was. He squinted his eyes a bit to focus and sure enough the little dot started to shape into a tiny little thing with large colorful wings. A familiar chill washed over him because his gut was telling him who it was before his mind could process it. There was no way she would be looking for him, right? It's been a couple of months since his strange one-sided chat with her Cocoon and there's no reason for her to check on him again, he questioned. Maybe it was just a coincidence she was flying around his territory, just his bad luck wanting to ruin his night for a sick joke, but he kept his hopes up. Hopefully, the bug was too high up to see them and will pass by without even seeing them.
His inner thoughts were interrupted by a high pitch squeal from his date, OH MY GOODNESS, MOSURA! MOSURA, IT'S REALLY YOU!...followed by getting pushed off his Volcano home when she extended her wings out. As he tumbled down the side of the volcano, he could vaguely see Rhea flying up into the sky to greet the colorful moth. He landed hard on his shoulders and head and let out a huge burst of flames from his wings, but that went unnoticed due to Rhea's continuous squealing.
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, it's been forever, where have you been?! There's so much we need to talk about and you told me you were going to visit more. You look different, did you do something with your fur, how it is you always stay so youthful-
He rubbed his head and slowly lifted himself up to see Rhea near by the ocean shore, holding the Moth's front set of claws with her own while she went on and on with their conversation. Mosura just sat there with a big smile while patiently waiting for Rhea to finish. Do they really not see him there on the ground with a bump forming on the back of his head?
I'm sorry, Rhea, I was going to visit, but I ended up going through my egg cycle a little earlier than I wanted. Mosura said, nervously smiling. Plus, you know how Gojira is, it's hard to get him to socialize with my friends.
Rhea laughed, It's alright, I'm just happy to see you. She said, grinning before looking around for something in particular. By the way, where is that grumpy Lizard? Hopefully he's in a better mood than the last time we spoke.
Yeah, sorry about that, if it makes you feel better, it's hard for him to get along with my companions. Oh kaiju, do I have stories about him constantly bickering with my best friend Scylla, but he seems to get along with well with this Mountain kaiju we met a while back, but it's hard to tell when it comes to males since all they do is brawl and- Mosura paused to take a look at their surroundings…Um…I'm not interrupting anything, am I?
Rhea, who was slouching down due to Mosura's size, sat up straight, Excuse me?
Well, I was flying around and was surprised to find you way out here from your usual territory, I'm sure your flock is worried?
Rhea blinked, Oh…oh…shit, I nearly forgot…I was just hanging out with a…friend…
Mosura looked at her oddly. Friend?
He slowly stood up and cleared his throat to finally get the females' attention. The nerve, he thought, being ignored on his own little island. Mosura let go of Rhea's claws and covered her mouth. Oh my…Fire Demon?! She gasped in pure shock that her wings actually flared up. He had to admit, her wings were stunning especially now with this "New Body" or "Life" she told him about. Her wings were bright with radiant colors, a mixture of blue, orange, yellow and red with golden eye designs on each wing tip. The flare up even sent shimmer dust into the air, a rare sighting compared to his female counterparts with their fire and smoke.
Rhea laughed, Mosura? Are you ok? Why did you say Fire Demon?
Mosura lowered her wings down and calmly cleared her throat. I'm sorry…I didn't know your friend was…was…
Rhea's eyes trail from Mosura to him and back to Mosura again…Mosura, I thought I was the only Fire Demon you know, I didn't know you knew Rodan as well. What a small world.
Yes, small world indeed, Rodan thought because he just assumed Mosura coming near him were rare encounters as well.
Mosura looked at him, like she was finally relieved to know his name. Rodan…yes, I know him. He had a bad encounter with Gojira and well…
Rhea couldn't help, but nudge Mosura in the shoulder. That is so like you Mosura, always helping others in their time of need. That must've been a massive wound if you needed to heal Rodan so quickly. She giggled like it was the funniest thing in the world.
He rubbed his sore neck and felt irritated all of a sudden. So, I take it you and Mosura are great friends?
Rhea looked at him like he was crazy. Of course, I always thought she only befriended the Prey Kaijus, but one day she found me all alone with a broken wing and instead of flying away, this sweet and I would say very naive kaiju flew down and healed my wing.
Mosura blushed a little. I wasn't that naive, I just saw someone that needed help.
Any kaiju of your size and sweetness wouldn't dare come near Predators like me, but you did anyway and you saved my life…and…I made a really good friend. Rhea said, with a smile. He can tell Rhea really adored the Moth, she even went as far as toning down the fire in her wings just to make sure she didn't burn the Moth's white fur.
He took a few steps over to the females and grumbled. Well, that's nice and all, but not to sound rude, we were in the middle of a Outing, so if you don't mind…He asked while gesturing to Mosura to leave. He was really looking forward to a night with a female and is not going to let the little moth cloud his head or distract his date.
Mosura tilted her head, trying to figure out what he meant. Outing…She stared at Rhea, who suddenly looked a little guilty about something…Outing…then it finally clicked. OH!...Oh…I'm sorry, Rhea, I didn't know…I mean…this is just a surprise…what happened to Mars?
Rodan's eyes widened…Mars…who's Mars?
Rhea quickly scoffed and folded her wings. We're no longer talking and good riddance if you asked me. She said, letting her fires flare.
Msoura sighed, What happened this time? She asked, feeling a little tired already.
Rodan tried to cut in again. Who the hell is Mars? And I thought you said, you weren't part of a Flock- Only to be shut out again when the females went back to their conversation with Rhea literally turning her back on him again.
Is it so hard to ask for attention?! We've been together for nearly a year and still he never pays attention to me and I need attention, Mosura, I need it!
Mosura nodded like she had no other choice. Yes, yes, sure you do, but-
-and do you know what he said to me, he said I was needy! I'm young! I want to have hatchlings one day and I want him to Sire them, how is that being NEEDY!-
-I understand, Rhea, but-
-even his male companions think I'm crazy, how can I be crazy? I thought males wanted females who were ready to settle down and-
On and on she went which was killing Rodan's mood til the point, all the blood that was supposed to give him a nice erection shot right back up to his head as he leaned against the side of his Volcano and sulked. He knew Rhea was young and just getting out there, but damn, he didn't know she still acted like an adolescent with so much drama. While he did tune out most of their conversations, he did pick up a few things they were yapping about. Apparently Rhea lied about her background a bit. She was part of a Flock, but her and her boyfriend had a bad spat and she thought getting together with another male would be payback and get her Male to pay attention to her again. Mosura just sat there listening, letting Rhea vent all her sorrow, despair and anger before finally breaking down in tears over her stupid decision…a.k.a nearly having sex with him for all the wrong reasons.
It's going to be alright. I think you and him just need to sit down and really talk things out instead of doing these off and on break-ups. Trust me, talking goes a long, long way. Mosura said, while giving Rhea a hug as the female Fire demon continued to cry.
Thank you for listening, Mosura and you're right. I need to act mature and stop making all these stupid decisions. He makes me so mad sometimes, but I love him no less. Rhea sniffled before letting go of Mosura to wipe her eyes.
That's the spirit. Why not fly back home and tell him yourself before it gets too dark. You know night is when the Male Muto Parasites come out to fly.
Rhea nodded. Agree. I'll see you around, Mosura. Love you. She said, before soaring up into the sky so fast she left behind a wave of flames, ashes and smoke. She didn't even say good-bye to Mosura or him if that matters.
Mosura, with her back against him, looked up to wave good-bye. Be safe. Tell Mars I said hi!
He waited till she turned around only to realize he was mere inches from her face. What in the world is wrong with you?! He asked in annoyance.
Her bright blue eyes blinked. What do you mean?
His left eye twitched. You know exactly what I mean. Do you have any idea what you cost me tonight? Or do you find blocking males from having a good time funny?
Mosura chuckled quietly to herself and took a few steps back to increase space between them. If I was in your spot, I'd be rather upset that not only did she lie to you about her being a Loner, but she was just using you to "ruffle up" her boyfriend's feathers…or flames in this case. Would you really want to be a part of that?
He snorted flames out of his nostrils. Uh, Yeah! Duh! I'm not the one having commitment issues and if she wanted to make a bad mistake with me, who am I to judge? I'm just a participant in her silly games. Let her use me as much as she wants.
And lose all the respect you have for yourself. Can you really say you're not going to regret it in the morning and think how you're going to feel when she leaves and never sees you again.
He chuckled. Mosura…believe me when I say this…they always come back. He said with a mischievous grin.
She shook her head. I can see why Gojira told me to stay away from Fire Demons like you.
Oh? So Rhea is not the only one being sneaky around here. He questioned. I knew he was jealous, but to hate our entire species? Talk about throwing a tantrum.
I shouldn't be compared to Rhea. She's very young and still growing and you saw what she was willing to do just to create stress and drama for her "One True Love." She and Mars have a complicated relationship. Gojira and I have a more understanding relationship. He can warn me on many things, but when it comes down to it, as he puts it "Well, I tried, you're on your own." He doesn't hate you or your entire species, he just thinks you have an attitude and will try something if I'm not careful.
And you believe that? Am I something you need to be careful around? He asked, giving her a seductive look.
If I did, I wouldn't be here or even befriend Fire Demons like you and Rhea. He's just holding up his part of our deal by protecting me. She said, waving it off like it was no big deal, but he had a feeling she didn't realize he was flirty with her.
He huffed, So where is the Fat Brute anyway? I'm surprised he's not following you around. You would think Rhea's squawking would bring out his murderous instinct.
Actually I was following him until Rhea stopped me. No doubt somewhere deep in the dark depths of the ocean for some alone time. He calls it his "Thinking Place."
Oh brother. He rolled his eyes before looking at her. Well, since you chased off my date and overstayed your welcome, let's just call it a night and go our separate ways, shall we? He asked, knowing very well the ache he's going to endure the next morning for not getting his release.
If you're not going to let that go, why don't I make it up to you by healing that scar Gojira left on your face and call it even.
He clamped his beak shut from her offering since he could think of "other ways" she could make it up to him, but wisely keep that idea to himself. Please, I'm getting a lot of females' attention because of these scars. Probably more than your Bulky Lizard companion.
She gave him a look, clearly not amused by his male ego before putting on her most pleading smile. Please, I wouldn't feel right knowing you're living with those scars. And again, it's the least I can do for ruining ...your "Date."
He growled, rubbing his face in frustration. For crying out loud, Fine! If it gets you outta here faster, so be it. The last thing I need to end this awful evening is your lizard friend attacking me again because you refuse to stay away from me. He said, sitting down in the sand, so she can get a better view of his scar.
Thank you…I really appreciate it. Plus, while I'm healing you, we can watch the rest of the sunset. Your home has a nice view of it. It's so peaceful out here.
He nodded slightly in agreement. Rhea thought so too, before she left without saying good-bye thanks to you. He said in a sarcastic tone.
I told you I was sorry, but I don't regret doing that either. The last thing Rhea needs is her turning against her over her poor choices. She said, before placing her claw as gently as possible on his cheek's scar. He slightly winced and let out a small hiss. As the blue light began to appear and heal him again, she spoke. So…Rodan?
She smelled like flowers up close and he couldn't help, but feel calm from how smooth her voice sounded when she said his name. Yes, what about it? He asked while his right eye slightly twitched from the healing process.
Nothing…it's just a nice name. I feel like I'm finally meeting you for the first time.
His stomach felt like there was lava bubbles popping all of a sudden and instead of a sly remark, he just looked down to hide his bashful face and just said one word.
Thanks…
