Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: Chaos Theory
Act 80: She Never Told You
By: Sora Kazeno
An hour later, Usagi is smiling with her friends again as they continue to sing. After talking with Naru she made up her mind to talk to Seiya. She hates how things are between them and it has been like this for too long. She'll call him tomorrow.
She leans in toward Naru, "thank you."
Naru beams. "You'll figure this out." She winks at Usagi.
Mamoru closes his book. He can't focus on his studies. Today is Usako's birthday and he still doesn't know what secret Usagi is keeping and why. What could have changed so much?
He is irritated. He is not used to being left out of the loop by Usako like this. Not something that is this important.
Opening his laptop he pulls up his email. When he last spoke with Setsuna, she didn't have any more information from Haruka or Michiru when Usagi visited them at their apartment. The only thing they could determine is things were really tense between Seiya and Usagi. She ran down the hallway instead of talking to him.
He sighs, rubbing his eyes. He just wants answers. If he is probes too much it will push her away from him too.
They are going to train tonight when it's late morning in Japan. This time they are meeting at the Silver Millennium. It will be easier to truly test the Golden Crystal's abilities there. The light from the crystals is easier to hide there. All he can hope is she will be more willing to talk to him, bit by bit.
Usagi is in the best mood she has felt during the past week. Her fingers brush against her crystal pendant around her neck. She thinks about where she placed the paper she scribbled Seiya's number and new address. She doesn't want to just show up over at his apartment. She wants to talk over the phone first and see how it goes.
She hopes it will be easier for her this time. She needs to work on erasing the image of Shiori and Seiya kissing. Her hands shake a little. Why did that have happen? Why did she have to see that? She exhales loudly. After all Shiori has been after him as long as she's known her.
Despite seeing that… she misses him. He told her he missed her.
Ikuko greets her daughter when she hears the front door open. "Hi Usagi!"
Usagi takes off her shoes and she hears Shingo watching television in the living room.
"Happy birthday!" Kenji greets his daughter.
"Thank you!" Usagi smiles at her parents. "I had a lot of fun with everyone."
"While you were gone you had a visitor and a present was left for you upstairs," Ikuko grins at Usagi.
"Oh?" Usagi's eyes widen, wondering who the mystery visitor could have been. She quickly rushes up the stairs. Flipping on the light switch, she looks around and pauses when she sees a blue bag with a note on it in the middle of her desk.
As she moves closer she recognizes the OSAP bag. She stops in her tracks staring at the bag. Why didn't Naru give her the present or say anything sooner? She picks up the bag pausing when she sees the note. The writing on the lower half catches her eyes. She recognizes it. It's written in Kinmokian. Her grip tightens on the bag. Seiya was here. He was the mystery visitor.
She stares at the bag in her hands. Her eyes can't focus on the words or anything else. She puts the bag down deciding she will read it in the morning after she sleeps. She quickly changes and lies down in bed.
As she is lying there with her eyes closed on her side and she can still clearly picture the bag with the note in her mind's eye. She is trying to fall asleep but it is impossible and she won't be able to sleep until she reads it. She gets up and slowly approaches her desk, pulling out the chair and sitting down. She is going to read it slowly since she still struggles with the language. Why did he write it in Kinmokian to begin with?
She detaches the letter, deciding to read it first before opening the bag. The beginning of the letter is in Japanese. She starts reading it out loud, "Dearest Odango…" Her voice cracks as she reads those two words. She pauses. He still loves her. He would never start a letter like this to anyone else.
She takes a deep breathe noticing the second line is also in Japanese. "I hope you don't mind but I wrote the rest in Kinmokian since you know how nosy Luna can be." Her shoulders start to shake as she laughs. She continues to laugh and wipes tears out of her eye. She realizes how much she needed to laugh again.
She takes a few moments before she continues reading the letter out loud. She slowly translates it as she goes along. "I wanted to give you your present on your birthday but I didn't want to risk upsetting you if you didn't want to see me. Especially right before you're going out to sing with everyone for karaoke." Usagi pauses to look at the bag, staring at the OSAP logo for a moment.
She returns to the letter. "I ordered it before we left for Kinmoku and picked it up a few days ago. Can you believe Minako-chan kept this a secret the entire time?" Usagi's eyes widen, checking the letter again to make sure she translated it correctly. Minako knew about whatever present Seiya got her? She did manage to keep her dating Yaten a secret for most of the tour.
"I can't apologize enough for everything that happened on Kinmoku. How I reacted to the miscarriage. And not realizing sooner that it wasn't you that was in my room that morning. You are the only person I ever want to be with. I miss you and if I could, I'd tell you all of this in person."
The rest of the lines in the letter grow blurry as tears return to her eyes reading his heartfelt letter. There isn't too much left to read. "I want to see you. There is never a day that passes that I don't want to see you." Usagi bites her lip before continuing. "I used to think the hardest thing for me was returning to Kinmoku thinking I would never see you again. I was wrong. The hardest thing I've done is to keep my distance from you when I know you're grieving and I can't be there for you."
Usagi places the letter down on table as she cries. She leans on the corner of the desk and sobs into her crossed arms. She never thought how about hard this was for Seiya. She was too focused on being angry at the events that transpired. A few minutes later she wipes away the final tears so she can read the rest of the letter.
Delicately she picks it back up. She is grateful he wrote this Kinmokian. If someone else read this she wasn't sure how she would be able to explain this. She takes a deep breath before she resumes reading the last section of the letter.
"I love you Odango. That will never change no matter what happens. I hope I can see you again soon. Happy Birthday. All My Love, Seiya." She gingerly places the letter back on the desk. Without a doubt she is going to call him tomorrow shortly after she gets up. She'll call him before the training session.
She was so happy with him before they went to Kinmoku. She wants that happiness back. It's just… Shiori. Naru's words ring in her mind. Shiori is an ex for a reason. Exactly, Shiori was never really an ex of his, was she? She shakes her head trying to clear any lingering thoughts of the lavender haired woman.
She wants to see him. Is she ready to forgive him? The only way to know for sure is talk to him. A nagging voice asks her what if it happens again? Her hands clench tightly.
She reads the clock seeing how late it is. Confirming it's too late to talk to him and she doesn't want to suddenly show up at his apartment in the middle of the night.
Usagi's stares at the OSAP bag on her desk. What did he buy her? She picks up the bag holding it for a moment. She unties the ribbon slowly and opens the small bag. She finds a medium size navy blue box with red OSAP logos on top of the box. She pulls the box out, her fingertips gripping it tightly. The box is not heavy.
Her heart is beating fast. What is this present Seiya wanted to make sure she received? Slowly she opens the lid and gasps. Inside is the most beautiful bracelet she has never seen. There is a thin band of pink diamonds. Where the row of diamonds end on the right side, are two charms, a crescent moon and a five pointed star studded with white diamonds. The back of the bracelet has a silver adjustable band. The clasp is round with several circular white diamonds. Her fingers brush over the jewelry in awe.
She removes the bracelet from the box for a closer look noticing the engraving on the back. "Forever Yours." She places the jewelry back into the box and carefully closes the lid. She leans back in her chair staring at the now closed box. She can't describe in words all of the emotions she feels.
If she ever doubted how Seiya felt about her, she didn't have a need to anymore. He is in love with her. She looks over at the clock again. She needs to get some rest before she calls him. She's not sure what to say. She's so overwhelmed. Crawling back into bed she is wide awake. She turns to lie on her side to face the balcony. From here she can see a few stars in the sky.
Usagi opens her eyes to find Neo Queen Serenity. She frowns. Of course the Queen would show up now.
The blonde haired Neo Queen Serenity stares at Usagi for a moment before she speaks. "You need to save her."
Usagi's expression softens. "How?" She asks quietly. "I would if there was a way but her starseed already burned out." Tears fall down her face knowing she failed her daughter.
"You never hesitated to save him," Neo Queen Serenity sneers. "You didn't fight hard enough. If you hadn't lost consciousness so quickly you could have saved her with the Ginzuishou."
Her words sting. "I nearly died when her starseed burned out inside of me. I didn't know what was happening to me. I just knew I was in a lot of pain." Her voice grows softer at something that has weighing on her for weeks. "I didn't know I was pregnant."
"Then make this right. Find a way to save her. You are the Guardian, the keeper of the Galaxy Cauldron are you not?"
Usagi looks away dejectedly. "I wish it was that simple."
Hours later, Usagi wakes up. She yawns as she stretches. She slept longer than she intended and only has an hour and half before she is supposed to meet King Endymion and Sailor Earth for the next training session. She gets out of bed and gets ready.
Twenty minutes later she is dressed. She looks at the bracelet she received from Seiya and reads his note again. Glancing at the clock she realizes she still has one hour. It is enough time to call him. She rushes downstairs to grab the cordless phone before she changes her mind to call him later.
"Usagi-chan, did you see Seiya-kun's letter?" Luna asks when she sees Usagi grab the phone.
She turns to look at Luna. "How did you know it was from Seiya?"
Luna teardrops. "I um…."
Usagi laughs. "He was right then."
Luna's nose twitches. "I am not nosy!" She tries to defend her actions but it is too late. She just gave away she read part of his letter.
Usagi raises her eyebrows at the cat. "Riiiiight." She responds as turns to go back upstairs making a mental note that if Seiya writes her more letters in the future he shouldn't write them in Japanese.
She is about to dial the number she knows by heart and then stops. He moved. She goes over to her dresser, searching inside the drawer frantically for his new number. She lets out a deep sigh of relief when she finds it. Her fingers are sweaty as she dials the unfamiliar numbers.
The phone starts ringing. Her heart is pounding in her chest. Why is she so nervous?
After several rings someone finally picks up. "Hello?"
It takes Usagi a moment to recognize which member of the Three Lights picked up the phone. "Yaten-kun… hi." She finally manages.
Yaten turns his head slightly in disbelief by the voice on the other side of the phone. "I'm surprised to hear from you." He remarks.
"Is… is Seiya there?" She stammers. She never considered someone else would pick up. What if Yaten won't pass the phone to him? It wouldn't be the first time.
Yaten grins a little. "Sure. Give me a moment and I'll find him." He knew Seiya was playing his guitar somewhere but currently there was no sound. He walks over to Seiya's bedroom first. It is empty. He hears a few notes from a guitar. Leaving the room he walks into the room next door. The empty bedroom they started to convert into a studio/practice space.
Seiya is now playing a song on the guitar humming something. He is trying to figure out the missing words for this section.
Usagi is holding her breath without noticing it when she hears the music. Whatever melody he is working on, it's beautiful.
"You have a phone call," Yaten shouts loudly over the music.
Seiya stops playing and sighs. "Take a message then. I'm finally making process on this part that I've been stuck on for the last two days." He's aggravated at Yaten's interruption.
Yaten doesn't honor his request and shoves the phone in his face. "You need to take this call."
Seiya grumbles something under his breath looking annoyed at the silver haired band member.
"We're all tired of seeing you mope around," Yaten smirks as he walks to the doorway. He pauses and gestures to Seiya to answer the call.
Seiya looks at Yaten's retreating form in confusion wondering what Yaten means. He looks at the phone. He might as well answer at this point and get it over with. He can continue working on the song after the call. "Hello?"
Usagi has to take a deep breath and exhale it before she can respond. "Seiya…" She whispers softly.
Seiya bolts upright nearly dropping the guitar out of his lap.
Yaten smirks at him and closes the door. He could have told him it was Usagi but what would have been the fun in that? He heads back into the living room. Mina will be happy to know she called Seiya. He shakes his head. When did he out of all people become so invested in his cousin's relationship? He already knew the answer to this question. It's because of Mina. He hopes Seiya won't mess this up.
"I… read your letter last night and saw your present… I want to call and thank you," Usagi finally manages to say. Mentally she is yelling at herself. It shouldn't be this difficult to talk to him. She tries to break some of the tension. "Luna saw what you wrote before I got home…" Usagi giggles a little when she thinks of the look Luna gave her when she grabbed the phone.
Seiya shakes his head a little. "Then I'm glad I didn't write everything in Japanese." There is a pause in the conversation, each waiting for the other person to say something. This might be his only chance. "I meant what I wrote. I miss you Odango and I really want to see you."
Usagi nods her head a little. "I… miss you too." She finally admits. Why did it take her this long?
"Can I see you?" Seiya immediately asks as he stands up, his voice full of hope.
"I have to be at the Silver Millennium soon for a training session," Usagi explains now regretting she called him right before the session. But she really wanted to talk to him.
Seiya frowns for a moment until an idea hits him. "I can meet you there and we can talk for a bit until the training starts?" He needs to see her and figure this out. He's worried if he doesn't see her now he might miss his chance. "I can leave when it starts." He adds; he doesn't want her to feel like he is interrupting anything.
Usagi is hesitant; worried it could cause an issue but stops. This is between her and Seiya, no one else. "Okay. How about in ten minutes?" Usagi asks as she looks down at her outfit rethinking what she is wearing in case they de-transform to talk.
Seiya beams. "That would be perfect. I'll see you soon." The call ends and Seiya rushes to his room to change. He quickly grabs a grey shirt, jeans, his baseball hat and sunglasses. If things go well, he's hoping to spend a lot more time with her today.
As soon as he is properly dressed he heads to the front door to leave.
"Where are you going?" Taiki looks at him confused from the kitchen as he pauses from cooking lunch. He can tell Seiya is in a hurry. "Make sure you are back for the meeting tonight with the manager for some new project he wants to discuss."
"Its fine," Yaten brushes off Taiki's concern.
Taiki and Seiya stare at Yaten for coming to Seiya's defense.
Yaten shakes his head at Seiya. "Well are you going to leave or keep Usagi-chan waiting?"
Hearing Usagi's name snaps Seiya out of it, "I'll see you guys later!" He rushes out of the apartment.
Taiki shakes his head a little. He cooked too much food.
Sailor Cosmos arrives at the gardens of the Silver Millennium first. She looks down at her fuku and making note it is probably better if she stays in this form. She'll need to be in her fuku for the training session. She thinks back to her conversation with Fighter under the tree on Geminga.
She is nervous as she waits for Fighter. She hasn't seen or spoken to Seiya in days. When she came back from Earth she had to put distance between the two of them because she was so angry. What if she couldn't control her powers when she was angry around him? A lot of her anger has now subsided and she feels like she can control her powers better than before.
A flash of azure light catches her eye. She would recognize the light from anywhere. Her heart beats a little faster. As the light dims she sees Sailor Star Fighter.
As soon as the Starlight sees her, her eyes light up at the sight of her beloved. She closes the gap between them. "I've missed you so much." It takes all of her self-control to not embrace the white haired senshi in front of her.
Sailor Cosmos manages a small smile at the tender words. "Can we sit down and talk for a bit?" She would rather be off to the side and away from where King Endymion and Sailor Earth tend to appear for a training session.
As soon as they are both seated Fighter positions her body so she is facing Cosmos, "I'm so sorry for every that happened. I can't apologize enough to you." She doesn't even pause to take a breath. "I never imagined any of this would have happened."
Sailor Cosmos nods her head. "I know no one could have predicted…" she pauses, maybe she had seen some of it in premonitions and she just didn't know it. "Maybe if I understood some of the premonitions more I could have avoided some of it." She looks away. "But some of the things I've seen still don't make sense. Even after all these weeks later." She finally reveals one of her struggles. She never told Fighter the extent of the premonitions she experienced in the recent month.
Fighter is alarmed at the thought of Cosmos continuing to have premonitions no one knows about. "You should never have to go through any of this alone." As she leans in a little closer to Sailor Cosmos her hand brushes against her thigh for a brief moment.
Sailor Cosmos' eyes widen as she recognizes what is transpiring. She had a premonition in this very spot. She was sitting here with Fighter and she was upset about something. It brings tears to her eyes.
Sailor Star Fighter can't stand to see her like this. She has seen the Guardian full of so much sadness and wants to do everything within her power to take it away. She closes the gap between them and hugs her tightly to her chest. She can feel her own eyes tears up over the pain Odango is in and she can't do anything to ease it.
Cosmos' shoulders shake a little as she cries. She doesn't try to brush away the tears.
The Starlight nuzzles her cheek against the top of Cosmos's head trying to calm her.
The Guardian continues to sob for a few minutes letting out all of her frustrations since she returned to Earth. Eventually the tears stop and she pulls away from Fighter. Her eyes are still red from crying. "I don't know how to get past this. Losing Chibi Usa or… Shiori-chan."
Sailor Star Fighter tries not to wince she hears Sailor Star Destroyer's name. "Shiori-chan isn't an issue. You have nothing to worry about with her. She's on Kinmoku and more importantly, I could never return her feelings. I only care about you."
Cosmos thinks about everything they talked about in Peru. "It's just… I can't get the image of the two of you together out of my mind…" She looks away.
Fighter is irritated at Shiori for even creating this rift between them. "I don't know what she was thinking. That never should have happened." She lightly places her hand on Sailor Cosmos' knee. "I never imagined it would be anyone but you kissing me." She tries to comfort the Guardian. Her expression conveys worry and pain.
She looks into Fighter's eyes; she wants to figure this out. "Seiya…I…" she could be lost in those eyes for hours.
A bright flash of light appears nearby redirecting her attention. Sailor Earth and King Endymion had arrived. Had they really been talking that long or are they just early?
Fighter's grips Sailor Cosmos' knee a little tighter at the sight of the duo without realizing it causing Sailor Cosmos to gasp in surprise. "Sorry," she mummers withdrawing her hand. "I was hoping we could have talked for a little longer."
King Endymion inhales sharply when he sees the Starlight sitting very close to Sailor Cosmos. Why are the two of them here? He'll never receive any answers at this rate.
Sailor Earth immediately picks up on the tension from her brother. She turns her attention to the two senshi. She sees the long black hair. This is her first time seeing who she assumes is Sailor Star Fighter.
Sailor Star Fighter stands up offering Sailor Cosmos her hand for assistance.
Cosmos quickly accepts it and is pulled up. There is still so much they need to talk about but it will have to wait until later.
"I should be heading out. I don't want to disrupt your training session," Sailor Star Fighter addresses everyone. She starts to walk away from Sailor Cosmos much to her dismay.
Sailor Earth takes a few steps forward to the new Starlight. "You should stay. This is the first time I've met you in your senshi form. I never seen you in battle and I would love for you to stay so I can see what your abilities are."
Sailor Star Fighter looks at Sailor Earth in surprise. She was clearly not expecting this invitation. She looks over at Sailor Cosmos for a moment to try to gauge her reaction. The Guardian seems just as stunned.
"We're going to work on defensive abilities today and to have another person attacking would be great." Sailor Earth continues trying to convince the Starlight to stay.
"Are you sure it's a good idea?" Sailor Star Fighter asks her as she glances at King Endymion.
Sailor Earth is persistent. "Stay and help us." She tries again and she turns to her brother.
King Endymion is not sure what she is up to do but he agrees. "It would be helpful."
Fighter is still flabbergasted by the invitation. She looks at Sailor Cosmos.
The Guardian shrugs her shoulders as if to say why not.
Hotaru's head snaps up. All of the sudden she feels unsettled. She gets up to look at the straw hat that is normally hanging on a hook located on the back of her bedroom door. She gets up and finds the hat had fallen onto the floor.
She carefully lifts it up remembering the time Chibi Usa chased after this hat. She carefully places it back on the hook, wondering what all of this means.
Setsuna, Haruka, and Michiru sit together at the kitchen table. They are not any closer to figuring out what happened that led Usagi to attack Setsuna.
"This isn't like her to keep things from us. I don't like who she's become because of that outsider!" Haruka slams her hand on the table.
Michiru gives Haruka a look for hitting the table. "She's a very different from how she was as Sailor Moon. She's an entire different person as Sailor Cosmos. The power she yields is incredible."
Setsuna has replayed everything in her head so many times. "I can't determine what changed or what caused the change. Yui-chan and I have reviewed everything."
"Maybe it was something that did not change regarding our timeline per say but rather Kinmoku's timeline and we've been looking for answers in the wrong place," Michiru leans back in her chair. They only considered their timeline changing.
Haruka shakes her head a little. "So who wants to go there and find out?"
A young man with medium brown hair parted down the middle smiles when Makoto opens her apartment door to let him inside. It's been almost a year since they last seen each other. He finally had a growth spurt and is now a few inches taller than her rather than the same height.
Makoto smiles at her childhood friend. "Shinozaki-kun!" She greets him warmly.
He hands her a small cake. "I know you plan on cooking everything but I want to at least bring you a gift."
Makoto needed to make a new meal for her class as part of her exam. She needed an objective opinion and she knew he would be able to provide one. The girls would always tell her the food is great but not give her an idea on how she might be able to improve it.
"I could never turn down a meal made by you." He takes off his shoes at the front door putting on a pair of slippers.
Makoto places a hand by mouth to try to hide her laugh. When she feels awkward laughing usually helps. "How have you been?"
"Engineering is harder than I thought it would be," he responds glumly. "I still have a lot to learn." He follows Makoto into the kitchen. "Is there anything I can help with?" He looks down embarrassed. "I feel bad you end up doing all the work."
"I appreciate the offer but I have to be the one to be able to learn how to make the food as well as how long it will take me. You're company and opinion is thanks enough." She ties a dark green apron around her knee length black dress. "It is always more fun to cook for someone than eat everything on my own."
Rei glares at the short man in front of her. "Grandpa, no!" She crosses her arms against her chest. "I'm not doing it." She has to keep putting her foot down from the beginning or she can only image what other tricks he will try to play in the future.
"You have a meeting tomorrow evening and you are going to be there." He looks up at his granddaughter in frustration at her stubbornness.
"I don't need a matchmaker," she spits the words out like they are venom.
Grandpa raises his eyebrows at her. "You are hurting the shrine's image of being a good place to facilitate good matches! You're eighteen with no prospects! The shrine is known for its matchmaking and weddings. How is that going to look having an old shrine maiden assisting with weddings?" He challenges her.
A vein throbs on her forehead. "I don't need a matchmaker! I can find someone on my own!" Rei huffs at her grandfather before she storms off.
Yuichiro watches Rei storm by him as he hangs up an ema received earlier today for prayers. He can see Rei's Grandfather watching her with his arms crossed. He'll check on Rei a little later.
Sailor Star Fighter jumps out of the way from an attack launched by Sailor Earth with ease. She is starting to hold back more when she determined Sailor Earth isn't nearly as powerful as the other senshi.
"You're a lot stronger than I thought," Sailor Earth comments trying to think of a way to catch the Starlight off guard. The crescent moon symbol on the Starlight's brooch annoys her.
King Endymion uses this time to talk to quietly to Sailor Cosmos. Both of them are watching the two senshi sparring.
"How… is Setsuna-san? I haven't seen her since I came back," Sailor Cosmos asks softly. Her eyes remain focused on Fighter.
"She's fully recovered," King Endymion answers. He wants to ask Cosmos more but he's not sure how Fighter would react if he pushes Sailor Cosmos to open up about what happened. Now did not seem like the best time. "I was surprised to see both of you here."
"…" Sailor Cosmos is quiet for a moment trying to figure out the best way to respond. "We… needed to talk about some things and there wasn't a lot of time before the training session. I didn't want to be late…we put off talking for too long…" Her voice trails off. She still needs to finish speaking with Fighter.
"Ah," King Endymion responds unsure of what to say next other then, "Thank you for all of your help so far. I feel like it has helped me a lot to understand more of my powers."
Sailor Cosmos stands silently next to him for a few minutes. "You wanted to work on trying to create more of a barrier today?"
"Yes," King Endymion confirms. "How did you learn to create your barrier?" He asks the Guardian.
Sailor Cosmos reflects on her first trip to Kinmoku. "Sailor Galaxia helped me train… I had to learn to defend myself or I was going to be injured. Too many people have been hurt protecting me or died," she pauses. "It was during a time I was afraid to use my powers right after I took everyone's starseed."
"That wasn't your fault," King Endymion adds quietly. "There are a lot of things that happened that are not your fault." He stops himself before he says anything else. He wanted to say so much more to her, reassure her and hold her close but knowing that Fighter was right there things could end badly. He had hoped things were improving between himself and Usako after she hugged him receiving the cake. But now it is a step backward because that Starlight is present.
The duo stands in silence while they continue to watch Sailor Earth and Sailor Star Fighter.
Earth is quickly learning she isn't a match for Fighter based solely on power and ability. But she heard the Starlight can be a bit of hothead. "I'm surprised my brother hasn't killed you yet for whatever you did to piss off Serenity."
The Starlight's eyes narrow at the other senshi's remarks. She should have expected something like this sooner or later. "His powers are nowhere near mine. He would never get the chance."
Sailor Earth glares at the Starlight for how quickly she brushed off her remarks. She looks over at her brother for a moment. She shakes her head. "Are you guys ready?" Sailor Earth asks the King and Queen that stand in the distance. Earth realizes there isn't too much more she can learn about Sailor Star Fighter while fighting against her. The Starlight is stronger than she anticipated and she would have rather have her as an ally than an enemy in combat. But outside of battle is an entire different story.
The four of them stand in a circle discussing the next step.
"Why don't the two you of you start," Sailor Earth suggests looking at King Endymion and Sailor Cosmos. "It will give the both of us a breather for a few minutes and then we'll join in."
Sailor Star Fighter is about to comment she doesn't need a moment but stops. She doesn't want to create a problem for this training session. Instead she nods her head in agreement. She is the guest here.
Sailor Cosmos and King Endymion move to the same area where Fighter and Earth were sparring moments ago. An empty area away from the Silver Millennium in case any attacks veered off of their intended targets.
She starts with simpler attacks while the King uses the Golden Crystal to try to deflect them.
Earth turns her attention back to Fighter knowing she won't have many opportunities to talk to her. "I couldn't believe Serenity told Mamoru that she spent the night with you before she left Boston. Apparently she wanted to make it clear things were over between them but I don't get it. You didn't know her in her past life. The two of them were inseparable."
The raven haired Starlight turns her head sharply at the topic of the conversation. Odango told Mamoru about their first night together? She was not expecting this from Sailor Earth. But then again she barely knew the senshi next to her. "That was their past. People change."
"Hmph," Sailor Earth grumbles in response. She opens her mouth to say something else but stops when she witnesses the light emitting from the Golden Crystal. "Is Sailor Cosmos being pushed back…?" She stares at the white haired senshi intently.
"He's gotten stronger," Sailor Star Fighter's attention is now on the two training.
"He's getting there. His powers were dormant for a very long time. It is very different than being a senshi," she turns to Kinmokian senshi next to her. "I never quite understood how you can be a senshi and still have a male form."
A bright flash of gold energy appears between the two groups. When the light fades Sailor Galaxia stands there with large feathered wings on her back. Her eyes focused on Sailor Cosmos. "You need to come with me."
Sailor Cosmos doesn't budge as she stares at the golden senshi. She has a bad feeling about this.
Sailor Star Fighter takes few steps forward. "What's going? Did something happen?" She questions.
Galaxia turns her head sharply at Fighter. "This doesn't concern you." Her gaze shifts back to Sailor Cosmos. "It concerns only the Guardian."
Sailor Cosmos doesn't make an effort to go with Galaxia. Her breathing becomes uneven.
Sailor Galaxia tries again. "We need to leave." She realizes she is going to have to tell Sailor Cosmos what happened to make her come with her. "The child's starseed has appeared at the Galaxy Cauldron."
Everything moves in slow motions for Sailor Cosmos. The silence is deafening as she is frozen in place for several moments processing what Galaxia means. She starts to regain control of her body and gasps. Her hands slowly start to cover her mouth. Seconds later silent tears return to her eyes. She can't speak as she stares at Sailor Galaxia. Her body starts shaking as the eight point star on her forehead flashes. Large feather wings appear on her back. She finds the strength to utter two words before she leaves. "Chibi Usa…" Her body starts to glow for a moment before she leaves in a trail of bright light.
King Endymion can only stare at the spot Sailor Cosmos was previously standing not comprehending why she would say their daughter's name before disappearing.
Sailor Galaxia turns to Fighter for a moment, "I'll make sure she's okay." Without another word the senshi disappears in a flash of golden light trailing behind the Guardian.
Fighter clenches her fist tightly. She can't help Cosmos at the moment. The training session here is clearly over and she isn't going to linger a moment longer than she needs to. Any hope of speaking to Odango after the training session is gone. Fighter is also being left behind, again only to feel helpless. She turns to leave when she hears a very panicked King.
"What happened?" He demands. He is not going to let this Starlight out of his sight until he has answers.
Already emotional from her talk with Cosmos earlier, Fighter turns around. "Isn't it obvious?" She snaps back.
In less than a second King Endymion is front of Sailor Star Fighter grabbing her by her sailor collar. "Normally I wouldn't hit a woman but I have no problem making an exception in your case."
Fighter's eyes flash dangerously at King Endymion. "Let me go," she threatens. Her mind is still trying to process how the King was able to move that fast. If he doesn't remove his hands from her in a few seconds she will lash back.
He ignores her request, tightening his grip. "What does Chibi Usa have to do with all of this?"
His question completely catches her off guard as her expression turns to one of disbelief as her eyes widen. "Odango never told you…. Did she?" Her voice is lower as begins to understand the situation she is in.
"Tell me what?" King Endymion yells at the Starlight.
Shinozaki appears in one episode of Sailor Moon R as Makoto's childhood friend and she gave him a blood transfusion after being attacked. We only know his last name so I will be giving him a first name in the future. In the DiC dub his name was Ken.
Mamoru knows something is up and how he reacts to this news will be in the next chapter after this really wicked cliffhanger! Poor guy. Hope he doesn't shoot the messenger!
Right as things are starting to look up for SeiUsa….
Lots of drama in the next chapter. See you on 1/18/24, Act 81: Small Lady.
