Here we are with the new chapter and I'm glad about how the last one did. Thank you all for the support for the story. I appreciate it and I'm looking forward to what else I have in store for you all. I'm also glad to have gotten more chance to work on my stories. And getting the chapters done as well.
Now, again, this is set during the events of the Force Awakens. However, there will be some changes made so its not exactly like from the movie. Obviously, adding in giant monsters is going to be one of the major changes. But the changes will also make the sequels different.
Oh yes. The sequels will be included in this story, making it very long. I'm also mixing in some Godzilla: King of the Monsters and the Godzilla vs. Kong stories into this. So, I can ensure they're all covered. Will I eventually get to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire…maybe.
Last time, we saw Kong being kept inside a large containment dome to keep him and the last of the inhabitants of Skull Planet. We also saw a grown up Ezra Bridger and his children. All living in the Monarch outpost and trying to keep Kong safe. And finding out the First Order caused the storm to grow.
How will things go as the story progresses? Will we see more monsters appear? Maybe some familiar ones? And how will it all lead to the King of the Monsters fight?
Tune in today to find out. Now, time for the disclaimer. I don't own anything owned by Disney except the OCs of my friend. Enjoy the chapter everyone.
Chapter II
The galaxy is on the brink of war!
It has been 30 years since the fall of the Galactic Empire and peace has returned to the galaxy. But the Empire has returned in the form of the First Order. A group made up of remnants of the old Galactic Empire and its followers who fled to join them.
Led by the evil Sith Lord, Darth Neziah and his Knights of Ren, they had begun preparing their forces to retake the galaxy. And rule over the galaxy with fear once again.
The New Republic, wanting to stop the First Order from taking over the galaxy, Chancellor Jaina Solo calls on the aid of New Heiwa and their forces to help them stop the First Order.
Emperor Takeshi agreed to help the New Republic when the First Order threatened their colonial worlds and scientific bases. Leading the New Republic forces being led by General Leia Organa and her husband Han Solo, who had been searching for Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker, after his disappearance 14 years ago.
Leaving his seat to be taken by his father's former student, Ahsoka Tano.
The New Jedi Order agreed to assist the New Republic, but made it clear they will not lead any forces and will only engage against Darth Neziah's Sith Acolytes.
News of a possible lead to Luke Skywalker's whereabouts had reached General Organa's forces.
Prompting her to send her best pilot, Commander Poe Dameron and a few Heiwa agents to Jakku. In the hopes their informant has the information needed to find Luke Skywalker and bring him back.
Before the First Order can find him and destroy him…
Inner Rim
Out in the Jakku system, lies the planet of Jakku. A remote desert planet located within the Wester Reaches of the galaxy's Inner Rim and the location of the final battle of the Galactic Civil War. It was where the last of the Galactic Empire's forces battled against the Rebellion. A battle that ended with the collapse of the Empire and the birth of the New Republic in 5ABY.
After the battle, wreckage of destroyed Star Destroyers, TIE Fighters, X-Wings, and Rebellion ships were scattered across the planet's surfaces. The New Republic didn't seem to bother coming back to salvage the destroyed ships and simply left them behind. The planet had no governing system, so it was basically a world without rules or laws. That was until the planet fell under the jurisdiction of Heiwa.
They wanted to use the planet to set up a science base in a joint effort to help restore the fauna that had long been extinct. Heiwa left this task to the organization that was formed long ago. A joint organization made up of different worlds, aligned with Heiwa. All working in the name of science, medicine, and technology.
The organization simply called…Monarch.
The group falls under the rules and law of Heiwa, along with the worlds that came together to form it. Having it work outside the New Republic jurisdiction but made sure to abide by the code of conducts for all scientists and medical professionals. To ensure they uphold their oath and do no harm to all life.
Monarch to the public is known for studying plant life and finding ways to create brand-new medication and treatment. They also study all wildlife, while protecting endangered species across the galaxy. They even study ancient civilizations that had gone extinct and those that had grown to where they are now. All the while making sure their history is not lost to time by cataloging it.
And even study long-extinct creatures from their fossils, to learn about them.
While some worlds believe Monarch in their cause, others believe they are trying to use the worlds they're on to make biological weapons. Though without much proof, there isn't much they can do.
Monarch didn't bother themselves with seeing what people think about them and focusing on their duties. They even hire the inhabitants around the towns and villages to work with them. For simple jobs, such as going to the destroyed starships and salvage them. So, they can use the parts brought to them to recycle or use them for sale.
This way the people in the towns can sell the parts to other starship pilots and use them for repairs for their damaged ships.
In one of the Imperial Star Destroyers, a scavenger woman, seen wearing goggles, a wrapped hat, and a cloth around her face is seen scavenging some parts. She broke open a panel and began finding some valuable pieces in the engine room of the ship. She examines the piece before putting it away in her bag. Once she saw nothing else worth taking, she began using her cable rope to descend down to the ground.
She looked over to see two other scavengers walking by, carrying some parts themselves. They lifted their hands and waved at her, causing her to wave back. No words needed to be said. They were there to salvage what they can find, not be friends.
They soon began to exit the ship and emerged outside into the hot sun beaming down on them. The young woman begins removing her goggles and face mask before pulling out a small metal bottle. She began to drink some water from it, but found it only had a few drops left inside. She banged on the side but couldn't get more water.
The young woman sighed in disappointment, before one of the scavengers walked up to her and hands her a metal canteen. The young woman looked over and saw it was an elderly woman who had removed her face mask and goggles too. She motioned to the canteen, offering it to the young woman. The young woman gave a small thank you nod, before she begins drinking from it.
But just enough to satisfy her thirst, before handing it back to the elderly woman. The elderly woman gives a small nod back before she picks up her quarterstaff and begins heading towards her sled. The young woman puts her bottle away and goes to her sled as well, with the three scavengers sitting down and then pushed themselves over.
Sliding down the sand like it was snow and made it down to where their speeder bikes are at. All three scavengers walked over and began dragging their sleds before putting what they found in their net bag, hanging along side of their speeders. Before long, they activated the engines and began to drive off.
They rode down the road, while passing by destroyed starships. Much of it being Imperial Star Destroyers and a few Tie-Fighters. At least, those that can be seen and not buried deep in the sand. As the scavengers rode down the road, they begin heading towards a small town, protected by a large stone wall.
An outpost is seen at the entrance of the town, by armed black armored men. All with a symbol of two triangles side to side with each other. Taking the form of an M shape. The scavengers would stop at the entrance to allow security to scan them and see their ID. The elderly woman and the third scavenger were ahead of the young woman, who had a chance to look around at the walls.
Despite Monarch claiming to be a science outpost, they sure had a lot of turrets around the walls and armed men stationed around. They claimed it was to protect the base from pirates, mercenaries, and First Order soldiers.
"Next!" one of the guards spoke up getting the attention of the young woman, who moves forward with her speeder bike. "Identification card…"
The young woman took out her card and hands it over, before it begins emitting a small projection of the young woman in a small hologram form.
"Scavenger Rey, age 19, long brown hair, hazel eyes, light skin, and has been a resident of Jakku for 13 years," said the security guard before handing her ID back. "Welcome back to Tuanul, Rey."
"Thank you, Jeff," said Rey as she greeted the guard. "Do you always have to read everything off of my ID out loud? And why do you keep checking our IDs? You know who we are."
The guard, Jeff removed his helmet, revealing himself to be around his early 20s with short black hair, brown eyes, and brown skin. "To answer your first question, nope, but I'm training a new trainee and want him to see how we do things," he motioned towards a young trainee who is seen taking down notes of what his trainer taught him.
"A new recruit? I'm surprised Monarch send one to someplace so quiet," said Rey who didn't see any need for any new recruits to come here. "I thought we have enough guards around here. Unless you had some that transferred?"
"Some did, but its more we're being cautious," Jeff leaned in and whispered to Rey. "Word is the First Order attacked a couple of our outposts. Emperor Takeshi isn't happy about it, so he's reinforcing our defenses."
Rey seemed shocked to hear that the First Order would launch an attack at these outposts. She doesn't see anything worth of value to attack them.
"Are we in danger?" Rey asked who's concerned of what will happen if the First Order attacked them.
"Relax, Rey. You're in good hands. And besides, don't you live on the outskirts of the village? You'll be fine," said Jeff as he puts his helmet back. "By the way, if you see Lily, can you give her this…" he hands Rey a small box, which is wrapped in a red cloth.
Rey knew exactly what it was and smiled. "I'm glad to see you didn't forget your anniversary with her. I'm sure she'd be pissed if you forgot."
"How could I forget when I have you reminding me. Anyways, good luck," said Jeff as he allowed Rey to pass through.
Rey nods and drives her bike in slowly. Following the pathway the scavengers all follow and head towards the Monarch outpost on the other side of the village. She looked over to see the people of the village appearing happy. They're all doing their jobs around the village, the kids are having some fun playing with themselves, and in the center of the village, a large tree is seen being studied by the Monarch scientists.
Rey had been living on the planet for 13 years and never saw any plant life existing on the planet. But when Monarch arrived seven years ago, they managed to do the impossible. Bringing back dead fauna on the planet. The tree was just beginning as months later, grass and flowers began to grow around the tree.
It was slow of course, but it was still good process. So, despite seeing the armed guards and turrets, she knew Monarch's intentions are good.
She soon arrived to the outpost, where she sees other scavengers heading towards the outpost booth. There, they would drop off the parts and be rewarded for their hard work. Plenty of bronze Heiwa credits. In a circled shape with a square hole in the middle and Heiwan symbols around the coin credits.
Along with food and water supplies to last them a week. Every scavenger would take these supplies and money back to their homes. Some live in the village, like the elderly woman who helped Rey, but others live in other villages and towns around Jakku. Rey being one of them.
Rey pulled out the stuff she found and placed them on her sled, before dragging it. As she got closer to the entrance, the doors nearby opened and out came one of the scientists. A young man with short silver hair, with some black strikes. He had brown skin, blue eyes, and appeared to be from Heiwa.
He appeared to be too busy on his data pad to notice he was about to bump into Rey, until it happened. This caused Rey to drop her sled rope and the young man from dropping the data pad.
"Oh, sorry about that," said the young man as he bends down to grab the sled rope.
"No, I'm sorry, I should have moved out of the way," said Rey who apologized and picked up the data pad. "Um here you go."
"And here you go," said the young man as he hands the sled rope to Rey. "Hey, I think I've seen you before. You're Rey, right?"
"Um," Rey looked around a little surprised a Monarch scientist recognized her. "That's me. And you are?"
"Oh sorry. I'm Doctor Hideo Yamagata," said Hideo as he introduced himself to the other.
Rey's eyes widened when she realized the man before him is one of the head scientists of this Monarch outpost. "Oh yes. I've heard a lot about you. I was just not expecting to see you out here at all."
Hideo nods in response as he understood her reason for what she said. "Normally I do during the morning, but I had been in a meeting all day and didn't have a chance to come out here."
"I completely understand," said Rey who figured all these scientists for Monarch would be busy with meetings and science experiments. "How did you know who I was though? If you don't mind me asking."
"None at all. I'm friends with Jeff and Lily. They told me all about you and how you've been living here for years," said Hideo who would hang out with his two friends to get drinks and food. "And I see you brought some stuff. Anything good?"
"I believe so," said Rey as she kneeled down and picked out one of the stuff. "I found this in one of the old Imperial Star Destroyers."
Hideo examined the piece and recognized it as one of the key components to the engines for their Imperial-class Star Destroyer. The Inflictor, which was one of the ships that was destroyed during the Battle of Jakku.
"You have a good eye for this stuff. Jeff was right about you," said Hideo as he looked through Rey's bag to see what else she had.
Rey felt a little bit of proudness in her hard work and was happy to get some praise for it. Before Monarch arrived, she worked mostly in scavenging stuff and cleaning them for very little in return. Just enough so she wouldn't starve and die. She never got praise though and was always looked down on by the people who lived in places like Niima Outpost.
There anything she thought of good value, always ended up getting a small reward for it. She always felt like she was getting scammed, but they were the only ones providing anything for salvaged parts. Until Monarch came in, putting those businesses out of work and giving people like her an honest living. Something Rey really did appreciate.
Hideo stopped when he noticed Rey not saying a word and appeared to be lost in her thoughts. "Rey," said Hideo snapping Rey out of her thoughts. "I was wondering…" he wanted to ask her something that had been bugging him for a while but wasn't sure if it was his place to ask her.
"Yes? What is it?" Rey asked wondering what was on his mind.
Hideo decided not to ask her his real question, but instead, decided to ask something else. "I remember Jeff telling me you're not just good as salvaging things, but also good at repairing stuff. I was wondering, would you be interested in a job? Monarch is always looking for skilled engineers and mechanics like yourself to help them out."
"Really? You're offering a job to work for Monarch?" Rey asked, who sounded a little excited at the idea of working for Monarch.
Oh sure, she does have a job at salvaging, but did feel she could do more than just that. It was true she is good with machinery and fixing stuff. Even fixed up some old Astromech Droids that she found in old, abandoned X-Wings. But the idea of having employment with the people in charge around here and probably being given better living conditions, did sound like a promising opportunity.
"I would love that," said Rey who was thrilled in the idea of working for Monarch.
"Great. We just set up a brand-new outpost I'm planning to head to monitor. If you want, I can put in a good word for you and we can get you transferred," said Hideo offering Rey a chance to leave Jakku and go off-world.
Upon hearing it would be on a different planet and not Jakku, it caused Rey's excitement and happy expression to shift to a disappointing one. Something Hideo noticed and felt guilty.
"Oh um sorry I guess I should have opened with that. If you don't want to leave, I understand. And can figure something else out for you," said Hideo as he apologized to Rey for what he suggested.
"No, no its okay. Its not that, its just…" Rey wasn't sure how to best explain why she isn't excited about working for Monarch as she did before. "I just…can't leave Jakku."
"You can't? Why not?" Hideo asked wondering her reason is for not leaving. "Is it about Jeff and Lily?"
"No, that's not it. I just…" Rey sighed as she hated how she's turning down such a huge opportunity, but she has her reason for doing this. "I'm sorry. I just can't."
"I see…" Hideo felt a bit of guilt for what he did, even though a part of him felt like he shouldn't feel guilty for her not taking her job. But he could sense it was something personal for her. "Well, if you ever change your mind, I'll be here."
"Thank you," said Rey before noticing the line was gone and she was up next. "Thank you, Doctor Yamagata and good luck on your work."
"Hideo is fine and you too, Rey," said Hideo as he shook Rey's hand before standing aside to let her go drop off the parts.
At the booth, stood a young green-skinned Rodian with blue colored eyes and wearing a Monarch security suit. "Oh, hey there, Rey! I'm so glad to see you."
"Good to see you too, Lily," said Rey as she greeted her Rodian friend. "Sorry, I was just um having a talk."
"With Doctor Hideo Yamagata. Hmm ~ I know," said Lily as she seemed excited seeing her friend talking to a guy her age. "So, tell me. How did it go? Did you two have a good talk?"
Rey picked up what her friend was saying and chuckled softly. "It wasn't like that. We bumped into each other, we talked, and that was it," she picked up the piece Hideo praised her for finding and seemed a bit sad. "He did say I did have a good eye for finding stuff like this."
Lily saw the item in question, and it had scanned with her scanner gun, before seeing how much it was worth. "Oh, you really do. You always bring us the best stuff, Rey. Did he offer you a job? You know Jeff and I have been recommending you to the good doctor to work here with us. You know it would be so much fun having you around."
"It would be, and he did, but…" Rey finished putting in the last of the stuff she found before setting her bag down. "I turned him down."
"What?! Are you kidding me, Rey? Why? Working for Monarch would be a perfect place for you. The things they have here, woof! You would kill to get a job in here," said Lily who couldn't believe her friend would turn down such an opportunity.
"Lily, you know why I can't leave. I'm still waiting for…" Rey stopped herself as she didn't feel like having to explain her reasoning for staying again. "I don't want to leave and then find out they came back."
Lily did understand why Rey is choosing to stay, but did feel it was a hopeless cause given how much time has passed. "Rey, sweetie…it's been 13 years. What makes you think they're ever coming back?"
"I…I just know they will," said Rey who refused to give up hope and believed they will return for her. "I just have to wait a little bit longer."
"I know that, Rey, but…what happens if you wait too long and miss out on life? You have a golden ticket to finally leave this world and see the galaxy. Something you told me has been your dream to do," said Lily who wanted to encourage her friend to go out into the galaxy and live a little.
"It is…but just not right now," said Rey who appreciated her friends for their support, but needed more time. "Thank you and Jeff for trying to help me, but I'll be fine. I'll see you both tomorrow, okay?"
Lily's expression shifted for a moment, before returning it to her normal happy expression. "Thank you, Rey and yeah, w-we'll see you tomorrow," said Lily as she moved her hand over and grasps Rey's hand.
Rey felt something was off about her friend's response but saw how late it was getting and decided to leave. "All right. Take care then…oh and by the way," she began to pull out a small box covered in a red cloth and hands it to her friend. "From Jeff. Happy anniversary."
Lily gasps from seeing the gift and opened it to see it was a beautiful necklace with a blue gem. "Oh I love it so much! I'm so going to give Jeff lots of kisses tonight."
"I'm sure you will. Bye Lily!" said Rey as she grabs her bag and heads back to her speeder before she hears Lily calling for her.
"Rey! Your reward!" Lily shouted, getting Rey to come back to her. "A little extra for today's work."
Rey looked to see she got at least 300 bronze coins and some extra rations to last her two weeks. "Thank you so much! I'll see you all tomorrow!" she soon took off and gets to her bike before she begins taking off.
Lily sighed while looking sad as she watched her friend leave. Hideo began walking over and shared a similar sad expression. "Sorry, Lily. I guess we couldn't convince her to leave, even with the job offer I gave her."
"I know…do you think she'll be okay when we're gone?" Lily asked as she had a worried look on her face.
"I'm sure she will. The Force will guide her," said Hideo before he begins receiving a message on my wrist communicator. "Well, its time. Start closing up shop and start getting to your transport ship."
"I will…Jeff will be there waiting for me, right?" Lily asked, hoping Jeff won't be on duty tonight.
"I changed his time schedule. He'll be there after he clocks out in a few minutes. Now go," said Hideo as he heads inside and begins contacting the one messaging him. "Is he here yet?"
"He's just getting out of hyperspace. Once he gives us the access code, then I'll greet him in the hanger," spoke a young woman through the communicator. "How much time do we have before they're here?"
"Not long. Do we have enough time to get Sleeping Beauty out of here?" Hideo asked as he headed towards an elevator.
"As long as she doesn't wake up, we'll be fine," said the woman before a hologram form of a large chamber with a large cocoon appeared.
"Here's hoping," said Hideo as the doors begin to close and the sound of a loud screeching noise could be heard, echoing around the base.
That's the end and yeah, I introduced Rey a little earlier than how it was done in the movie. For good reason though. I wanted to establish her a little earlier, while showing Monarch's presence. Showing their involvement in Jakku and getting the inhabitants to help out.
Also, I wanted to establish Hideo, my OC, who is also related to Haruo from my first Godzilla/Star Wars story and the Kong: Skull Planet story. Get him introduced before the next chapter. Also, it looks like they won't be around. For those who saw the movie, you already know why Monarch is leaving. And if you can guess who Sleeping Beauty is, then you've seen King of the Monsters.
How will things go next time? Will Rey be aware of what is going to happen? Will Monarch be ready for what is coming? And how will things go for our heroes when Sleeping Beauty wakes up?
Tune in next time to find out. Thank you all for reading and I'll see you all next time. Please leave some reviews and subscribe to the story. Take good care and see you for the next chapter, bye.
