Chapter 9: Interview? What Interview?
As Dean drove along the road with Sam and Jessica in tow in his impala with the still shattered headlight on the right heading to Sam's apartment building, Sam discovered that the coordinates left by their dad led to a place called Blackwater Ridge in Colorado. Dean told Sam that he was at the police station where he was brought in claiming that he worked there as a deputy. He told him that is probably where their next hunt is because of that or where their dad was heading next. Sam tells him his interview is in ten hours and Dean tells him he is not going but then after a while nods and takes him back home.
Dean is still frowning by the time he throws the car in park and Sam gets out with Jessica following behind him.
He leans down into the open window. "Call me if you find him?"
Dean nods knowing that if he called Sam would not pick up but maybe this time would be different, and he would answer. Time would tell.
"And maybe I can meet up with you later, huh?"
"Yeah, all right," Dean says, trying to sound like he does not care.
Jessica leans down next to Sam with a wave goodbye. "It was nice meeting you Dean. You're like a brother that I never knew I wanted until now."
"You too, baby girl. I'm glad you said that because you're also like a sister I never knew I wanted until now."
She goes around to the driver's side door and opens his door to give him a hug. He whispers something in her ear meant for only her ears to hear.
"Come on Jess," Sam said after tapping the car door twice and turning away. "You can hug him when you see him again."
"See you soon Dean," she said as she kissed his cheek before letting him go. "Take care of the baby and I will."
She followed behind Sam soon after. A few seconds pass before Dean is heard yelling their names. They turn around to see Dean leaning toward the passenger door, his arm going to the back of the seat.
Dean smiles at them before deciding to speak. "You know, the three of us made hell of a team back there."
Sam smiles, faintly back as Jessica nods. "Yeah."
Dean started the car and drove off after offering a sad smile in return knowing this was the last time he would see either of them again for a while.
A few minutes later, Dean gets a phone call. His caller ID reads Sam, so he picks up.
"Dean, come back and get us. I have an eerie feeling something is in my apartment, and I do not think we should go inside."
"What about your interview? Don't you still need to go?"
"Interview? What Interview? If I have you and Jessica alive and well that is all I will ever need, and you need me. Dean-"
"I'm here," Dean says as if he did not just shed a tear or two and wiped his eyes. "Are you sure?"
"I'm positive. Now get back here, jerk."
"I'm coming, bitch." he responded making a U-turn and heading back.
Author's note: I hope everyone that comes along my story likes what I changed up. Short chapter but in the rest of this story there will be no SPN possibly and it will be completely AU. Hope you enjoyed the ride but beware this is not the end. Be sure to review, favorite, and or follow!
