Chapter 15: Found Part 3
Dean's POV
I do not know what caused me to want to beat up my brother and follow through with it. Maybe it was seeing his face after every hurtful thing he said to me. Maybe it was all the pent-up anger and hurt but here I was beating him up to a pulp without mercy.
He would have been beaten until he was unconscious had it not been for two pairs of hands that pulled me off Sam. It was none other than Jessica and Bobby. I tried shoving them off, but they caught my arms and pulled me away.
"You need to calm down now son," Bobby said, his voice coming through with a hint of understanding. "Go in the house while I patch up Sam."
The last thing I saw before going in the house was Jessica kneeling by Sam talking softly to him asking if he was okay and her helping him up. I heard her tell Bobby she would patch Sam up, but Bobby told her he needed to speak with Sam.
I went to find the first aid kit from the bathroom and when I came back out Jessica was sitting down on one of the twin beds of the bedroom I was staying in. She was looking out the window looking to be in deep thought but looked up once she saw me come in. She looked down at my bruised knuckles and immediately stood up and came over to me taking the kit from me and examined my knuckles.
"Sit down on one of the beds," she said as she gathered supplies from the kit and went to sit beside me with a look of concentration on her face. She held up a bottle of Tylenol for me to see that was in the kit. "I am going to give you a Tylenol since you cannot have anything else that will help with the pain or make it bearable. I am going to have to give you stitches and then I will have to wrap them. And in the meantime, I have to talk to you about Sam."
She stood back up and went to get me a bottle of water from the kitchen and opened the bottle of Tylenol and gave me one.
"Is this safe for the baby?" I asked, hesitation clear in my voice.
"I do not know which is why I am giving you only one unless you can handle the pain."
I took the bottle of water and pill from her then went on to take it. I had a high pain tolerance, but stitches hurt, and my hand was already throbbing, and she had not even started yet.
I held out my hand for her to work on and she started working on it. "Why do you want to talk about my broth...Sam?"
"You need to forgive him because I do not know how he is going to take it if you turn him away."
"Why should I forgive him? Ow!"
"Don't be such a baby! I think you should because you're still brothers and because he felt bad as soon as you left and because of last night..."
She continued to work on my hand as she recalled last night and told me what happened. She also told me how a stranger helped them find me. She told me how Sam did not want to rest until I was found but also how she told him he would not be any good to me while running on adrenaline as she finished wrapping my hand.
"I will forgive him. I mean I already forgave him. I just do not want to get hurt anymore."
"Stand up," Jessica said and when I did, she hugged me while talking, head under my chin. "Would you like me to stay in the room with you while you two talk it out big brother?"
I laughed when she called me big brother and hugged her back. "How old are you? You were serious that day?"
She nodded into my chest. "I'm 22."
"You're the same age as Sam. I'm 26."
She pulled back and let me go before punching me in the shoulder playfully. "Hey, you still haven't answered my question."
"What question?" I asked playfully pretending not to know what she was talking about.
Instead of answering she smacked me in the chest, and I winced from the pain.
"Are you okay? I did not mean to hit you that hard."
"Yeah, just a little sore. Would you mind staying in the room while we talk?"
"Of course not! That is why I asked! Besides, I would love to see you two caught up in a 'chick flick moment' that I hear you hate," she replied using air quotes.
"He talks about me to you?" I asked with tears choking up my voice.
"Yes. Why wouldn't he?"
I don't answer but I let the tears fall as I sit back down on the bed and cover my face. She sits down next to me and wraps her arms around me. She tells me to let it out with understanding in her voice and tells me I've still got her if Sam wouldn't support me and the baby.
Neither of them heard Sam come in at that last part she said until he spoke. He looked like he cleaned up some.
"But you will have my support," he said kneeling down so he could be at eye level with me. "Until the end."
"What happens after the baby is born? Are you just going to throw me away once you have what you want?"
"Jess, will you excuse us?"
"He wants me to stay so I'll give you space but I'm not leaving this room," Jessica responded as she stood up to stand by the doorway.
"That's fine," Sam said before turning back to me. "I meant I'm here for you for the long haul. I shouldn't have said what I said. I don't want to live in this world without you in it man. You're my broth-"
"Don't you dare say that! Not unless you mean it. You're just apologizing because you feel bad for me. You don't care!"
"I care more than you will ever know. I do not want to lose you and I'm sorry for what I said. You are my brother, and I would not change a thing about that. I know we don't say this much if at all to each other, but I will say it anyway I love you bro. I mean it."
I cover my face and cry more. He didn't have any idea how much I needed to hear that. No idea that I was happy now that I had a brother who wanted me as his brother even though I was his brother by blood. No idea how relieved I was that I had someone I could still call brother.
"Aw, don't cry man," he said as he went to sit next to me and just held me until I stopped. "I'm sorry, okay. You are my brother and I'm sorry for saying you weren't. Please stop crying!"
"I'm sorry," I responded as I straightened up wiping my face on my sleeve. "You ever tell someone I cried like a girl, and I'll kill you."
Sam said nothing as he hugged me again and, in the background, they could hear a click of a phone camera and a "aw!" from Jessica.
"Erase that, Jess!" Sam said as he started to get up, but I stopped him with what I said next.
"It's fine Sammy. She's not going to do anything with it."
He looked up to Jessica for confirmation and she told him she would not. He went back to comforting me and kept looking up when he heard the clicks.
"That's it!" he said getting up and begin to chase Jessica from the room. In the end, he never got to erase them because she distracted him with a kiss, and he forgot all about it.
Bobby came into the room and stood by the doorway. "I guess you are heading back with them."
"I guess I am."
"Who was that lady with Sam? I didn't get to properly introduce myself with what happened?"
"His girlfriend."
"Oh, I see. Should I introduce myself-"
"No, I'll tell her who you are to us."
And after Jessica and Sam came back into the room, they helped him pack and left Bobby's house. Bobby made sure to tell them they were welcome to stay so instead of leaving they took him up on his offer.
Author's note: I'm sorry to keep you all waiting but I've been working on this chapter since I published the last chapter, and it still hasn't turned out how I wanted. I didn't want to keep you all waiting so I'm publishing it just like it is. Don't forget to let me know what you think, favorite, and or follow!
