It begins with a farmer telling his son,Heishiro a story about an enchanted sword called the Soul Edge. Some of those warriors begun searching for it,believing that he will be mighty enough to wield against their enemies. Then,the fire broke loose caused by the Pirates. Heishiro hid and watched the attackers killed his parents. Heishiro found his father's katana and took the last name,Mitsurugi.
Many Years Later, Heishiro isn't the only one who begun searching for the sword,but 8 of them as well,including Seong Mi-na,Taki,& Cervantes de Leon,a Pirate who killed Heishiro's parents. He soon learned about the sword's location. He later faces off with Mi-na & Taki. He won without killing them.
Rock & Sophitia gets eliminated,non-fatally. Cervantes fights with Li Long and kills him. Heishiro soon realized that the Soul Edge is filled with dark power and it could corrupt anyone who wields it. Cervantes tries to kill Hwang,but was stopped by Heishiro,who reveals his identity and the two fought eachother. As Heishiro fatally stabs Cervantes,Siegfried wields the Soul Edge and is now possessed by a darker spirit,Nightmare.
As the four escapes,Taki gets trapped,but Heishiro manage to save her. As the Warriors looks on helplessly,Nightmare creates a new empire.
