Somehow, with Victoria out of the dorm, it felt a little too quiet and empty. Having gotten used to insults on her board by her door, Max felt like something was missing seeing it empty. The first few days after Victorias departure from the dorm, Taylor and Courtney kept themselves to their respective rooms, only coming out when it's time for class, to shower or to use the toilet. But as the graduation got closer, they started to hang out with others. And the closer to graduation she got, the more nervous Max became since her baby bump was now clearly visible if she didn't have a jumper on. But with the warmer weather, she couldn't keep wearing them. Instead, she had made it a habit to always carry a jumper in front of her or tying one around her waist.

From what Kate had told Max, Mr. Jefferson had apologized to her that following Monday when he was back from the hospital. And told her that if she felt unsafe to continue to be his assistant for class, then he wouldn't blame her and he thanked her for all the hard work she had helped him with over the year.

The evening before graduation, Max was busy packing all her belongings when there was a knock on her door. Being so focused on packing she didn't put on a jumper before opening the door. Outside her door was no other than Kate and Dana. When Max saw their chocked expressions, she realised that she had forgotten to tie a jumper around her waist.

"The cat's out of the bag now." Max thought as she opened her door wider to let them in.

"Max." Dana said as she sat down on the sofa. "How? When?" she said trying to find the words. "Is this from when you accidentally slept with…" Dana said not mentioning Mr. Jefferson.

"Yes." Max finally said after a moment of silence.

When Max saw the confused look on Kate's face, Max retold the story of how she had accidentally been drugged at a Vortex party earlier that year when she was ill with the flu.

"But, why didn't you…" Kate said but couldn't get herself to finish.

"Get it aborted?" Max finished for her.

"Yes." Kate said as she nodded her head.

"I tried." Max said as she tried to swallow what felt like a lump in her throat. "But when I was filling out the paperwork, my mind decided that I could not get rid of this baby and so I left the clinic without even seeing the doctor." Max said.

"So, how far along are you now?" Dana asked.

"Almost four months." Max said.

"What did Dana mean with that you accidentally slept with someone?" Kate asked making Max look uncomfortable.

"I don't really want that to become public knowledge. He could get into some serious problems if it were to come out." Max said. "It's not that I don't trust you or anything, but the less people who know, the better." She continued.

"It's Mr. Jefferson, isn't it?" Kate said making Max look like a deer caught in headlights. "I've noticed the way he looks at you when he thinks no one is watching." She continued. "It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Plus, I have seen him giving you a ride now and then even though you guys thought that no one saw you." Kate said as she got up and took hold of Max's hands. "I don't think you realise this, but there seems to have always been a special connection between you two. It's almost as if fate decided for it to happen." Kate said in hopes of lifting Max's spirit.

"Thank you Kate." Max said.

"Hey, Max. I never got around to ask, but did the photographs that Juliet took help in finding the guy who likely put the drug in the drink?" Dana said to change to topic.

"All my cousin said is that the photographs were mostly too dark or there something in the way of the guys face in all the photographs he appeared in. It was almost like he knew where all the cameras were, or how to avoid being caught, for even the surveillance cameras outside the gym didn't catch his face, apparently." Max said as she got up. "Here is the stick with the photographs. If you see Juliet, could you give it to her?" Max said as she handed Dana the stick with the photographs from the Vortex party. "It's almost a shame that there was no graduation party from the Vortex Club." Max said as she sat down on the bed again.

"There was one planned, but with the last drugging of Mr. Jefferson, and with the search of the premises where drugs were found in several of the rooms in the boys' dorm, the principal called a meeting. And at this meeting it was decided that the party would have to be cancelled to avoid any other incidents like the ones that's happened so far." Dana said.

"From what I understand is that the guy seems to target women in their late teens or early 20's, and he seems to pick them when he's attending parties like the ones the Vortex Club arranged. At least, that's what Ari, my cousin thinks and apparently, she has gone out with a warning to all high schools to have a look out for any suspicious person that's not supposed to be at their events. I just have a feeling that something will soon make the guy to make a mistake." Max said as she got back up to restart packing her belongings into the boxes she has in her room. "Chloe, one of my best friends from when I was younger, even went to see someone who got a lot of experience when it comes to drugs. But he refused to give her any information, even when she brought my cousin along. I can't remember his name, but I think it was something like Bowels." Max said.

"You mean Frank Bowers." Dana said. And before Max could say anything she continued. "Trevor gets his weed from that guy, that's how I know his name." Dana said.

"I think it's best if we got back to our own rooms." Kate piped in after having listened to Dana and Max talk. "We still have to pack our belongings too." She continued as she got up and gave Max a hug before leaving the room and Dana doing the same.
