One morning: Wednesday and Enid were leading a group of Nevermore Academy students towards a hospital. As everyone walked together; Enid turned to glance at the students as she said, "Okay, everyone. Remember that we're not just volunteering at the hospital for Outreach Day. We're also putting our best foot forward with the community. So be on your best behavior." One of the students then raised a hand and said, "So why are we volunteering at the hospital? No one even told us we were coming here until the other day. Plus, Nevermore Academy has never volunteered here before." Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "We received a personal invitation to assist the hospital staff. It is best you just accept that and follow."

Within a minute, the school group soon entered through the front doors of the hospital. Wednesday went up to the front desk and immediately said, "We are the group from Nevermore Academy that are volunteering today." The individual at the front desk, then said, "Ah, yes. We've been expecting you. I'll call in Ms. Jude, who will show you around." As the school group stood around waiting, Enid then noticed a large group of stuffed animals sitting in a corner. A wide eyed and smiling Enid ran over to the stuffed animals and yelled, "OMG! These stuffed animals are so cute, I am going to die!" Then Wednesday raised an eyebrow as she said, "If that does happen, at least the crematorium is nearby."

Then a smiling Enid held the stuffed animals up as she said, "Wow! Look at the toys here. Some of them look just like the puppets from Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Didn't you love watching that show when you were a kid?" Wednesday had a disturbed look on her face as she said, "I find programs that are simply designed to promote warm feelings and surface level peace to be a wasteful use of the visual mediums. When I was young, my parents preferred to have my brother and I watch programs that more appropriately prepared us for what the world was really like... such as Cops."

Then nearby, a nurse was pushing a little girl in a wheelchair. The little girl had brunette hair which was tied to the sides in two braids. The little girl then saw Wednesday, and had a big smile as she loudly said, "Oh my gosh! Are you Wednesday Addams?" Wednesday turned to look at the little girl as she said, "Indeed I am. And you are?" The little girl had a big grin on her face as she said, "I'm Melissa! I've read all your books so many times, and the TV series based on your autobiography is my favorite show ever! I've watched every episode ten times now!" Wednesday raised an eyebrow as she said, "You have, you say? Well... it is quite intriguing to meet an individual with such fine taste."

An older women that walked over to Wednesday and said, "Mrs. Wednesday Addams. I'm Ms. Jude. It's a pleasure to meet you." Wednesday then shook Ms. Jude's hand as she said, "Likewise." Ms. Jude than had a troubled look on her face as she said, "Now, I was intending for you and your students from Nevermore Academy to tend to our outdoor garden today. However... the hospital has some more... pressing matters we're suddenly dealing with." Wednesday raised an eyebrow as she said, "Such as?"

Then suddenly, all of the stuffed animals from nearby began to rise into the air and float around the room on their own. Ms. Jude looked upset as she said, "Recently, all of the toys in the hospital we keep around for all of the children seem to have become... possessed somehow by troublesome spirits. Given the fact that Nevermore Academy has experience with these types of issues, we were hoping you and your class you solve this issue." The little girl: Melissa then excitedly said, "You mean I get to see Wednesday Addams perform an exorcism? This is gonna be the greatest day of my life!"

Several minutes later, Enid was pushing Melissa (in her wheelchair) down a hallway. Wednesday walked in front of them while holding a sword out. Suddenly, several stuffed animals appeared at the end of the hallway. Enid's eyes lit up as she said, "Aww! Look at those cute demon possessed creatures! Don't you wanna hug them!?" Then Wednesday pointed her sword forward as she said, "Prepare to meet my blade you abominations!" Wednesday then ran towards the stuffed animals with her sword. The stuffed animals then rose up in the air, and all of them floated towards Wednesday. Sharp teeth then began to emerge from the stuffed animal's mouths, as Wednesday swung her sword at them. As Wednesday began to shred each stuffed animal, one after another, she said, "Prepare to be cut short Care Bears. You shall finally known what being pounded really means Pound Puppies. Prepare to have you head mounted My Murdered Pony." Then as several stuffed animals began to climb on Wednesday's back, an angered Wednesday yelled, "Off of me, you foul creatures!"

Then Enid and Melissa noticed a Barbie doll driving a toy car down the hallway. Melissa then reached over to the Barbie doll and said, "Hi Barbie. Can I brush your hair?" The Barbie doll nodded, and then Melissa began to brush the doll's hair. As Wednesday noticed this, she yelled, "What are you doing!?" A happy looking Melissa then said, "Ms. Wednesday, these toys may be possessed... but they're still toys. They're designed to be played with a certain way. Now sure, you can use toys for all types of play time. So if you act like you're playing war, the toys will play war too. But if you place nice, the toys will play nice too." Then an amazed Enid then said, "You know, it makes sense Wednesday. If you play with the toys in their intended peaceful manner, they're likely to respond in kind."

Then as Wednesday stopped moving, all of the stuffed animals jumped off of her. A smiling Melissa then said, "I think you all will cause less damage to the hospital and keep everyone safe if you just act like you're doing fun innocent play time. That'll bring all of the toys together, and then once we got them all in one place: you can get them un-possessed after that." Wednesday sighed and said, "Very well. So... what type of play time do you have in mind to lure the possessed toys towards us?" Then Enid made a big happy grin as she said, "Well I have an idea..."

In a play room for the children at the hospital, many young children were sitting in seats together, while Melissa sat in the front row in her wheelchair. Calm piano music began to be played on a music speaker, as Enid walked in through a nearby door while wearing a red sweater and khaki pants. Enid then smiled as she looked at the children while singing, "It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood; a beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?" Enid then sat down and began to change her shoes as she continued to sing, "It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood; a neighborly day for a beauty. Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you please, won't you please, please won't you be... my neighbor?"

As several toys began to slowly walked into the room (drawn towards Enid's singing), a smiling Enid looked at everyone as she said, "Hello neighbors. I'm so glad we're together again. You know... neighborhoods today are full of so many different kinds of people. Take my wife: Ms. Wednesday for example. Lets give her a warm welcome boys and girls." Then everyone in the audience clapped, as Wednesday walked into the room from a nearby door. Wednesday had an angry and disgusted look on her face as she sat down next to Enid. Meanwhile in the audience, a very happy Melissa said, "This is so totally awesome!" Then a little boy who was sitting near Melissa said, "Eh. I'd rather be watching Mister Parker's Cul-de-sac."

A smiling Enid then put a hand on Wednesday's shoulder as she said, "Miss Wednesday might seem kind of scary to you boys and girls. But Miss Wednesday is still a real person with real feelings, and has fun hobbies and interests just like all of you boys and girls. Miss Wednesday, why don't you tell us about some of your favorite hobbies and interests." Wednesday then looked at the audience of children as she said, "I make monthly seance sessions with Satin; blackmailing him with information I have on his darkest secrets that even God is not aware of, in exchange for using his underworld connections to accomplish... favors." Then a smiling Enid said, "Wow. Doesn't that sound interesting boys and girls? It's amazing how people can do so many interesting things when they put their mind to it. Human beings can do so much more than dogs, or cats, or even goldfish."

Then Enid turned her head towards a nearby fish bowl, and looked at a small goldfish inside the bowl. Enid kept a smile as she said, "Mister Goldfish can't do the same things all of us can do boys and girls. Probably because he doesn't have long term memory." Wednesday nodded her head as she said, "Indeed. Which means that Mr. Goldfish probably can't even remember the identity of his former mate, who has probably moved on and mated with much more superior male fish at the pet store aquarium." Then a smiling Enid said, "Isn't that fascinating boys and girls? Mr. Goldfish was able to move on from his past without alcohol or drugs. It's so interesting what you can learn about animals and other creatures. In fact... we have lots of new animal and creature friends in the audience right now. Lets welcome them on stage boys and girls." Many kids in the audience clapped, as all of the possessed toys slowly moved onto the stage.

Then as the possessed toys walked over to Wednesday and Enid, a smiling Enid said, "Lets all pretend we're in the land of make believe, and introduce our friends to Daniel Tiger." Then Enid put a tiger puppet on her hand, and then looked at the toys as she said, "Well hello there all you fun little toys. You know, all of you toys are so amazing just for being who you are. Would you like to come play with my friend Ms. Wednesday?" All of the possessed toys nodded their heads. Then Wednesday held up a puppet version of herself, and then said, "I'll play with you all... in exchange for your souls." Then suddenly the puppet Wednesday and the real Wednesday held out knives and began stabbing all of the possessed toys. As Enid also began stabbing the toys with her own knife, all of the kids in the audience then held their arms up and yelled, "YAY!"

Then just as Wednesday and Enid finished stabbing all of the possessed toys, Enid said, "Well. It looks like it really was a smart idea to use playing nice with the toys to lure them all together for our trap." Wednesday nodded her head and said, "Indeed. Melissa was quite intelligent with coming up with this idea. Thank you sharing your superior intellect with us." Melissa had a wide eyed happy face as she said, "Wednesday Addams thinks I'm smart!? I am so excited, I am going to explode!" Then suddenly, all of the stabbed toys had green ghostly energy come out of them, and then fly out of the room. A concerned Enid then said, "What's going on?" Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "We may have removed the troublesome spirits from the toys. However they still exist in the hospital, and must be permanently removed." Enid with a concerned look said, "So... do you have a plan on how to do it?" Wednesday nodded her head as she said, "Indeed. Our students from Nevermore Academy were sent to obtain the tools we needed during our performance. However... we'll still need additional assistance." Then Wednesday looked at Melissa as she said, "Would you care to aide us in our quest Melissa?" Melissa started shaking in excitement, and then said, "YES! This is going to be the most epic thing ever!"

In the hospital cafeteria, several green ghostly creatures began to converge towards one another as they made spooky grunting noises. Suddenly Wednesday walked into the room wearing a black robe. Wednesday glared at the ghosts as she said, "Your time on this mortal plain has come to an end. Return to hell immediately, or face our wrath." The ghosts all looked at Wednesday and then made roaring noises at her. Wednesday then kept a straight face as she said, "You may think that I and the students of Nevermore Academy are ill-equipped to face you. However the students I brought with me today spent a semester learning all about ghost entrapment from our school's guest professor... Doctor Ray Stanz; who taught my students what to do when there's something strange in your neighborhood." Then suddenly all of the Nevermore Academy students, Enid, and Melissa entered the room wearing light brown uniforms as Enid yelled, "Who you gonna call?" Then everyone yelled, "Ghostbusters!"

Then Wednesday took off her black robe, showing she was also wearing a matching brown uniform. Everyone then took out their proton weapons and immediately began firing at the ghosts. The ghosts all began to scatter and fly around the room. Enid quickly pushed Melissa in her wheelchair, as Melissa held out her proton weapon and began firing at the ghosts. As the ghosts tried to flee away from them, a very excited Melissa giggled and yelled, "I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!" Wednesday meanwhile jumped around as she shot her proton weapon at many ghosts. Wednesday jumped, spun, ducked, and ran around several ghosts while still firing her weapon at them. Then as Melissa shot at more ghosts, she happily yelled, "Bustin' makes me feel good!" Then Wednesday yelled, "Melissa, the ghost trap!"

Then Melissa tossed a mechanical ghost trap on the ground. Melissa pressed a button that opened it. Then Wednesday and the Nevermore Academy students used their weapons to drive the ghosts into the trap, and then Melissa closed the trap once all of the ghosts were inside. Wednesday then walked over to Melissa as she said, "Well done Melissa. Your skills were quite beneficial to us today." Then a super happy Melissa said, "Really!? Oh my gosh! I'm so happy, I'm gonna..." Then Melissa suddenly started coughing a great deal. Wednesday suddenly had a slightly worried face, while Enid said, "Come on Melissa. Lets get you back to your room."

Melissa lay in a hospital bed hooked up to a machine while looking very tired. At the far side of the room: Wednesday, Enid, and Ms. Jude were talking with one another. Ms. Jude smiled as she said, "Thank you for coming today Mrs and Mrs Addams, and giving Melissa the adventure she's always dreamed about. Although... when I called saying to set up a fun adventure you all could play out with her, I thought you would just have people running around with bed sheets and toys. You didn't say anything about real ghosts and possessed toys." Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "You needn't worry. No one would've been in any actual danger... well... not if it had taken us another four minutes to trap those spirits."

Ms. Jude sighed, and then said, "Well... I'll give you time to say goodbye to Melissa before you leave." Enid made a little smile as she said, "I'll make sure all of our students get back to Nevermore Academy. I'll see you later Wens." Enid and Ms. Jude left the room, while Wednesday walked over to Melissa and sat in a chair near her. Wednesday looked at Melissa as she said, "Did you enjoy your day today Melissa?" Melissa coughed for a moment, and then in a very tired voice said, "Yeah. It was the best day ever. I'm so glad you came today. It's a crazy coincidence that you just happened to come on the same day ghosts were attacking this place." Wednesday then touched Melissa's hand as she said, "Well... there may have been certain factors that influenced my arrival today."

*Three Days Ago:

Wednesday sat in her bedroom having a video call, while an older woman appeared talking on Wednesday's monitor. The older woman had an upset look on her face as she said, "I know this is last minute Mrs Addams, but we here at the 'Make-a-Wish Foundation' would greatly appreciate it if you could meet Melissa. Her single mother and only family passed away months ago, and she's been a ward of the state since. Ideally, everyone would like to see her adopted as soon as possible... but sadly her illness doesn't make that feasible. For one, she needs to be near hospital staff 24/7; and also... her doctors say she only has several days left to live. Despite being able to move her upper body quite a bit, she's very ill. And despite her ability to hide it quite well... she's constantly in pain. However despite that pain, the staff tell us the one thing she loves to do all day is read your books and watch the 'Wednesday' TV series over and over. Her greatest wish is to simply spend a day with you Mrs Addams. So... would you consider meeting her?"

*The Present:

Melissa laid in her bed as she looked up at Wednesday while saying, "It was so cool having an adventure with you today Wednesday. It was like the ultimate wish come true. You're the greatest." Then a slightly nervous looking Wednesday turned her head away, and then realized there were many crude drawings all over the room that portrayed Melissa and Wednesday together. Wednesday took a deep breath, and then looked at Melissa as she said, "No Melissa. It is you that have greatness. You have shown great strength and bravery today in spite of your condition." Melissa coughed briefly, and then said, "Thanks. You know... the doctors say I might be leaving this room soon... and I think this might be the last bedroom I ever sleep in." Wednesday nodded her head as she said, "It may be." Then Melissa reached out and held Wednesday's hand as she said, "Will you stay with me until I fall asleep?" Wednesday then squeezed Melissa's hand as she said, "Of course." Then Melissa suddenly used all of her strength to sit up and hug Wednesday. As Melissa hugged Wednesday tightly, her eyes closed as tears escaped from them while she said, "I love you Wednesday." Wednesday looked at Melissa for a moment... and then hugged Melissa back as she said, "I... love you too Melissa." Then Wednesday remained in the hospital room hugging Melissa for the rest of the night.
