Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair. They were a duo that shouldn't have worked... but they did... and somehow their relationship resulted in marriage. Now, Wednesday and Enid work at their old school: Nevermore Academy as teachers, raising up an entire new generation; including their own twin teenage daughters: Harmony and Ana. Harmony, who carries both of her mother's special abilities, continues to grow and explore the world with her girlfriend Megan, and her two good friends: Sophia (a siren), and Emmy (a vampire). Ana meanwhile... is a different story...
Wednesday Addams, her wife Enid, and their two children: Harmony and Ana, were all seen walking quickly out of a court house as many reporters tried to talk to them. The four didn't say anything as they hurried past them. Nearby, a news woman looked into a camera as she said, "For those of you just joining us: just minutes ago - Enid and Wednesday Addams, founders of Wenclair Fashion - were recently charged for illegal and unethical genetic tampering and manipulation to essentially create the first two children born with the DNA of two women - their daughters: Harmony and Ana Addams. Scientific testing done on the four women recently concluded this statement to be true, and a report that was given as a courtesy to the public: has confirmed that the two children do indeed have some genetic differences to regular human beings. To help explain this report and the potential issues that could come from this case - we go to our network's foremost expert in biology and genetics - Doctor Danson. Doctor, can you explain to our viewers what we're looking at here scientifically speaking, and if this should be a matter of concern to the public."
The news program then switched over to an older man in a suit sitting as he said, "Well first off Rachel, we are looking something that has never been performed before in this history of humanity. Somehow, famed author: Wednesday Addams and her wife were able to create two living beings with the DNA of two women. They did this without any testing, without any notice to their physicians, and obviously without any regard to the well-being of their manufactured offspring. All human beings for all eternity have always carried the genetic material of a male and female. To do so otherwise, could open up a whole new world of genetic abnormalities or genetic diseases the scientific community couldn't even dream of. But on the flip side: we don't know if these two teenage girls, these genetic anomalies in the field of science, could have any hidden advantages or special abilities no other humans have had before."
The female reporter than came back on as she said, "And is this why all of Harmony and Ana Addams' academic standing and awards have been temporarily seized?" The older man appeared again as he said, "Exactly. When werewolves, sirens, vampires, and other supernatural creatures were first allowed be integrated into the public schools and society in general: we understood their biology, and were able to put measures in places to keep any scholastic or athletic competitions fair; along with keeping their regular peers safe." The female reporter then asked, "What do we know right now from the report of how Harmony and Ana Addams' biology differs from their peers?" The older man then looked right at the camera before him as he said, "Well this report does indicate that both girls have slightly increased levels of Estrogen, above average bone and muscle density, and abnormal sexual reproductive systems that cause them to have their periods only once every four months. More studying needs to be done though, especially on the methods used to create them. That research alone could definitely help us understand how much the public should fear them...or if we can even classify these children as human beings at all."
Enid immediately turned off the television in her room while Wednesday, Harmony, Ana, and Megan sat near her. Enid threw to the remote to the ground as she said, "What the heck does that guy mean: if we can even classify these children as human beings at all? They're treating my girls like freaking monsters, when the only real monsters here are hosting the freaking 24/7 news channels! And why would they temporarily seize any awards my girls have made. So what they're smart!? You're gonna penalize every kid who makes the honor roll!?" Harmony kept a calm face as she said, "Mom, chill. We knew people would probably act like this if they found it. Plus... it's really all my fault. I shouldn't have said out loud that I was born to two moms at the decathlon in front of all of those cameras." Then Megan held Harmony's hand as she said, "Don't say that Harmony. It was all stupid Derrick's fault. He's the only one that heard you, and is obviously the one that immediately told his father. It's not your fault Derrick's dad is the district attorney now, and has always had it out for outcasts. You and your sister just being a new type of outcast, just gives him more fuel for his racist fires."
Then a still mad Enid said, "It's just... Uggh! This is what I was always worried about. My daughters being over-examined and tested like they were freaking space aliens or something." Then Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "Well... the girls were long overdue a proper medical checkup." Then Ana made a little smile as she said, "Yeah. Plus it was cool to know I have above average bone and muscle density. I am now totally gonna knock some heads when me and Stormageddon the Conqueror go on our mission next summer to locate the lost Samurai Cat City near Seattle." Then a curious Megan said, "Speaking of different bodies... you both only get your period once every four months!?" Then Harmony casually said, "Yeah. We kind of just accepted it, and thought it was normal for some girls." Then a smiling Ana said, "Yeah. Plus the money we save from buying less feminine products, helps me put more money aside for my special hunt to find the Lost Crystal Kangaroo of Kansas." Then a confused Megan looked at Ana as she said, "I can't tell if you're making up half the stuff you talk about, or if you just know of things none of us are aware of." Ana grinned as she said, "Isn't it more fun when you don't know?"
Then Enid sighed and said, "Okay. Well... back to your dorm rooms girls. We'll talk again tomorrow." Then Harmony, Ana, and Megan got up and left the room. Once they were gone, Enid looked at Wednesday as she said, "So... you've barely said anything about this since it happened. Are you okay?" Wednesday nodded her head, and calmly said, "It would seem that back when we conceived our children, there were many consequences to my actions that I was unable to foresee." Enid then snuggled next to Wednesday and hugged her from the side as she said, "Don't get mad at yourself. I know I was upset for a little bit back when you first told me what you did to your body. But the thing is... you gave us two beautiful children that I love with all my heart. You weren't performing mad science Wednesday... you were performing a miracle. A miracle that just makes me love you more." Then Wednesday remained still, while with a still voice said, "Perhaps... however most people won't see it that way. What matters most now... is making the courts see things our way... and I know one person who can help with that."
Wednesday sat in a large office holding out a large case file as she said, "The plea deal I've been given is to pay an enormous fine, and agree to have my children live with provisional citizenry for life; which among other things: would involve them losing their right to vote, legally marry, and would be unable to cross state lines without court approval... which is something the district attorney has always wanted for outcasts. We need a method to help the court see that my actions and my children serve no risk to the community. So... can you give us that method... Bianca." Then, sitting across from Wednesday: Bianca Barclay sat in a business suit, and a happy smile on her face as she said, "Well I must say, I never thought I'd see Wednesday Addams crawl back into my life again begging me for help. So come on Wednesday... say the words: Help me Bianca." Then Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "That's unnecessary. You started this law firm years ago to help outcasts in need of assistance like you once were; so you have a nagging moral obligation to assist my family. In addition, due to the high profile nature of this case: you know that if you win, it will bring you unprecedented measures of acclaim and new clientele your way. So really... you should be asking if I shall allow you to use my predicament to assist your business." Bianca smirked as she said, "Still as clever as always Addams. All right. Give me your case file. Lets start working on our strategy."
In a large court room: Wednesday, Enid, Harmony, Ana, and Megan sat together. An old male judge sat behind an elevated table, while Bianca stood in the middle of the room facing Morticia Addams who was on the witness stand. As Bianca held a file out, she said, "Now Mrs Addams, the formula that your daughter Wednesday used to create her own children, you have previously stated was created from rare plants in your garden." Morticia sat in a calm poised manner as she gently said, "Why yes. The Genus Eroticus plants that I keep in my garden have been carefully cultivated by the women of my family for generations. The formula they extract acts as a special catalyst that ensures all genetic material during sexual intercourse turns immediately into viable reproductive material. My ancestors developed it centuries ago in case... an individual has performance issues in the bedroom." Then Bianca curiously said, "So a large number of your lineage have used this formula before, and have had no genetic abnormalities." Morticia calmly smiled as she said, "Of course not. My parents made me aware they used the formula to ensure my birth occurred, just as I took the formula when my husband and I were trying to have Wednesday. I even use a similar version of the formula to breed my plants."
Then Bianca looked at the judge as she said, "As you have heard, we have heard a sworn testimony that the formula my client used to create her children has indeed been tested far longer than originally suspected. In addition, the court has no jurisdiction in regulating what two consenting individuals of the same age do privately in their bedroom. Also, my client did not buy the formula she used. It was created privately in the home of a family member, and only then used in the private use of her own dwelling. It's no different than someone breeding a new form of plant, or building a new type of car in the confines of their own property."
The male prosecutor then stood up as he said, "Well chosen words Miss Barclay. However, you forget that your client didn't make a new form of plant or automobile. She created a new type of living and breathing life form. And while anyone could build any form of automobile in their garage, they wouldn't be able to take that vehicle out on the road without a proper vehicle registration. And as soon as they were born, Wednesday Addams unleashed two unknown types of creatures into our society under false pretenses." The prosecutor then looked at Morticia as he said, "Mrs Addams, this formula you spoke of your ancestors using... did any woman use it to create a child with another woman?" Morticia sighed briefly, and then said, "No."
The prosecutor then looked at the judge as he said, "What we have here then is a new type of life form that could potentially destroy the human race as we know it. If children are born to only two women, where does the Y chromosome fit in? Can only females be born to females? Your honor, this very act Wednesday Addams incited if unchecked, could slowly lead to the extermination of the male species. We cannot allow these creatures and these ideas spread into our culture and destroy our civilization!" The judge banged his gavel briefly, and then said, "The prosecution will be silenced. Unchecked theories will not be spoken of in this court room. However... there are many unknown factors in this case that need to be explored... which will continue when we reconvene tomorrow."
That evening in Wednesday and Enid's room at Nevermore Academy; sitting together watching television were Wednesday, Enid, Bianca, Harmony, Ana, and Megan. As they watched the TV, a male news anchor could be seen sitting behind a desk as he said, "And with the first day of this unprecedented trial concluded, the eyes of many interested Americans are watching and waiting to see how this plays out. Meanwhile, due to the complications brought on by this legal case, Netflix recently released a statement that their television series based on Wednesday Addams' autobiography, will have it's second season delayed until this case is settled. To remind our viewers, Wednesday Addams is also the owner of Wenclair Fashion; a business that she started with her wife: Enid Addams. Before that, the two were also well known for their lucrative work on Only Fans."
Harmony then turned off the television, and looked at Wednesday and Enid with a very shocked face as she said, "You both were on Only Fans!?" Then Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "Did you enjoy having toys, food, running water, and a roof over your head as a child?" Harmony slowly nodded her head. Then Wednesday kept a deadpan face on as she said, "You're welcome." Then a slightly disturbed looking Ana said, "Don't ever look up their old content. Me and Stormageddon the Conquer came across one of their old vids by accident once... and you do not want to know what we can never un-see now." Then Ana's kitten jumped on her shoulder, and made a sad meow as it covered it's eyes with one paw. Then a frustrated Enid said, "Hey. We donated half the money we made to endangered wildlife. We were using our bodies to save nature people!" Then a frustrated Megan said, "What I'm more ticked off about is... they keep delaying the second of season of the Wednesday TV series. When are they finally gonna show it!?"
Then Wednesday plainly said, "The real matter we should be discussing right now is what to do next in court. The prosecution is obviously biased, and very driven to take away the rights of any new form of outcasts." Bianca then calmly said, "He is obviously biased... but he made some strong points today. Having Harmony and Ana born under false pretenses with the rest of the world does put us into difficult territory." Then a curious Ana said, "Can me and Harmony take the stand? Like, can we just give some passionate speech about how we're real people with real feelings? I mean, I could introduce them to Stormageddon to Conqueror here, tell everyone how I saved a cute kitten; and that will show I'm a very kind person... as long as no one brings up that incident with the Kung Fu Fighting Frogs from France." Bianca turned her head and said, "You and your sister are both minors, and the fact that your status as completely legal living persons is in jeopardy won't help."
Then a curious Harmony said, "Well then how about letting our mother talk for a bit. She can speak from the heart about how she and mom wanted kids." Then Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "As manipulative as I can be, I would not advise that. Putting me on the stand could create an opportunity for the prosecution to ask me about my many other... discrete actions over the years." Bianca nodded her head as she said, "Agreed. Plus, this isn't like those legal drama shows you watch on TV. Passionate speeches and emotional tugs alone won't convince a judge. The only true loopholes that work are when you use logic and the law to your advantage."
Suddenly, the group heard a knock on the door. Harmony then got up as she glanced at a clock while saying, "Shoot. We were supposed to start dinner by now. My friends: Sophia and Emmy are joining us for dinner." Harmony then opened the door, and saw Sophia and Emmy at the door. Emmy immediately hugged Harmony as she said, "We've been keeping track of everything. Are you all okay?" Harmony nodded her head as she said, "We're okay enough."
Then Sophia walked over to Bianca as she said, "Wait a minute... you're Gabrielle's daughter. The first to break away from the Morning Song." Bianca smiled as she said, "And you must be Angela's daughter... the second girl to break free from that crazy cult. I'm honored to meet another former member who built a new life for herself." Sophia made a little sigh, as she said, "Well... still working on it. I've been pretty shaken up since I had the operation done to remove my song." A confused looking Bianca then said, "Wait... you mean the stories of those operations... they work?" Sophia looking a bit sad said, "Well... seems so. Although I wasn't told it would result in recurring head aches and sore throats... but that's what you get from dealing with back alley surgeons in a messed up racist world." Then Bianca paused for a moment... and then looked at everyone else as she said, "I think I have a winning strategy for us."
The next day in the court room, Bianca stood in front of the old male judge as she held out a folder while saying, "I would like to call these two individuals to the stand." The angry male prosecutor stomped towards the two as he said, "Out of the question. These two outcasts have nothing to do with this case, and any testimony they give will be a waste of time." Bianca then firmly said, "It is because they are outcasts, I wish to call them to the stand. Your honor... when you went to law school, outcasts were not even mentioned in any of your studies or law books. I simply wish to give this court outside context for what it means to be an outcast in unrelated situations, to help build greater understanding on what type of mindset members of the outcast community consider when making life changing choices." The judge kept calm as he said, "I will allow it. But tread carefully Miss Barclay."
A short time later, Emmy took the stand while Bianca stood next to her and said, "And please tell the court Emmy, what you are." Emmy cautiously looked at everyone in the room as she slowly said, "I'm... a vampire." Then Bianca calmly said, "But you could assure the members of this court room that even if you went berserk and attacked them, they'd be okay." Emmy nodded her head as she said, "Yeah. Even though I still take artificial blood to control my cravings, I had an operation done a year ago to remove the glands in my fangs that secrete the poison that could turn other people into vampires. I even had my teeth un-sharpened just in case." Then a curious looking Bianca said, "But please tell the court... where did an operation like this occur? There are no licensed medical facilities that allow such a procedure." Emmy sighed, and then said, "I... I found a place that does it off the books. I know people are afraid of vampires, so I was desperate to do whatever it took to change who I am. I mean... I couldn't ask for someone to figure it out at a regular hospital. As soon as the employees there see us near the sick, they always totally freak out."
Minutes later, Sophia took the stand while Bianca faced her while saying, "And Sophia, you were indeed born a siren. Correct?" Sophia nodded her head as she said, "Correct. However I too went to a less than authorized location for my operation that took away my siren song abilities." Then Bianca acted curious again as she said, "And there were no licensed medical facilities that could help you?" Sophia sighed, and then said, "No. Because strict laws were put in place years, in this very court room, that forbid the forced alteration of anyone's physical abilities or genetic nature. The prosecutor as everyone knows: publicly said he put those laws in place to protect normal people from being turned into vampires and werewolves, or turned to stone by gorgons. However what normal people don't get is that those very same laws... prevent outcasts from being able to change their own bodies to be more like normal people, which in turn prevents us from receiving equal opportunities to be whatever they want to be."
Bianca then looked at the judge, along with the entire court room, as she said, "What you have heard today your honor is just a small fraction of what outcasts regularly deal with. Outcasts are constantly under pressure to hide who they are and what they can do; due to the unfair and unequal treatment they still receive from society; including those that provide medical care. Under these conditions, I believe the court could easily assume that if my client and her wife had sought prenatal care before she had attempted to create her new children - she would have received none, and been turned away to fend for herself like she already did." The prosecutor then stood up and said, "Objection. The matter here is not about the country's medical system. This case is about whether Enid and Wednesday Addams broke the law. And they did."
Bianca then stood tall, and spoke firmly as she said, "This case is also about unprecedented territory, and it is up for the court to determine how the law is interpreted as we embark into uncharted country. Do you know why the founding fathers used unspecific and sometimes vague wording in the constitution? Because they knew that over the course of human history: the type of people that inhabit the world change, and society will change with them. Unlike monarchies that could only change its' values in revolutions, the United States was the first nation to put systems in place for the government to be able to naturally change with society, as long as it does so above board with the consent of the nation's leaders. I understand that Enid and Wednesday Addams... two women creating a child of their own... seems like dangerous territory. But if you outlaw what they did, you create a dangerous precedent that prevents other outcasts from growing, becoming what they want to be, inter-mixing, and having children of their own. And it will happen more and more in time... but not under the most safe conditions... safe conditions that outcasts are supposed to be guaranteed, just as living persons are. However by allowing the actions that Enid and Wednesday Addams committed to be seen as legal, you can create an opportunity to control how this happens in the future, and give them, their children, and others who do the same: proper and equal medical treatment. History has shown... when you vilify what women freely do to their bodies, or how certain people choose to love, or how families are made... you create an open opportunity for discrimination and inequality. So I ask today that the court views the Addams Family simply as a family that has the same rights, privileges, and equal opportunities as anyone of us to live, grow, and create a type of family of their choosing... because if you don't... you create an opportunity to begin toppling the foundation of equal rights for any of us."
Several hours later, everyone sat in the court room waiting for the judge to come back in. Enid, Harmony, Ana, Megan, Sophia, and Emmy all held hands. Wednesday sat next to Enid while keeping her hands in her lap. Enid then held out a hand towards Wednesday and made a little smile. Wednesday looked uncomfortable... but took a deep breath... and then held Enid's hand. The male judge the came back into the room. After everyone briefly rose up and then sat down again, the judge looked at everyone in the room while saying, "Reaching this verdict is not one I take lightly. No judge wishes to be the one that sets the precedent for a case as unprecedented as this. Yet, here we are. The subject of what constitutes a family has been questioned multiple times throughout this century, and now we question how children themselves in a family can be made. However one thing has been made clear today... the families of outcasts have indeed not been given equal treatment in our field of medicine, and I concur with Miss Barclay that Mrs and Mrs Addams would not have been able to explore any form of means to have children within the confines of our medical system, even if they tried. However, their children: Harmony and Ana... are unknown anomalies in the field of science. Which is why... I sentence Harmony and Ana to have annual medical check ups required by the court every year to keep track of their health for the next two decades. However if any medical facility of their parents' choosing turns them away, and is unable to provide accommodations to these unique individuals... that medical facility will be found guilty of practicing discriminatory actions towards two members of society who indeed have all the same equal rights of any of us... and the same goes for any outcast who wishes to change who they are: to be whatever they want to be." Many people in the room immediately cheered and clapped, while many of the teenage girls immediately hugged one another. Wednesday meanwhile silently looked at Bianca and gave her a brief head nod. Bianca smiled and simply nodded her head back.
Later that day there was a party in Wednesday and Enid's room, complete with lots of food and games. Wednesday, Enid, Bianca, Harmony, Ana, Megan, Sophia, and Emmy were all present. As the party occurred, Megan was playing a fighting video game while holding her controller tight. As Megan pressed the buttons quickly, she said, "Come on, come on, come on! I cannot lose!" Then suddenly a smashing sound came from the TV speakers, followed by an announcer's voice saying, "You lose! Iron Queen wins!" Then an angry Megan yelled, "Arrgh! How could I lose that game to a cat!?" Then Megan turned her head and angerly looked at Ana's kitten which had it's paws on another video game controller. Ana's kitten's simply looked at Megan, and looked cute as it said, "Rowr." Then as an excited Ana sat down next to her kitten and said, "Way to go Stormageddon the Conqueror! You're still the undefeated champion!"
Nearby, Bianca and Sophia were talking as Bianca said, "You were very brave to speak in front of so many people today Sophia. You really helped represent the siren community in a positive light." Sophia sighed, and then said, "Yeah, well... like I said, my song is now gone. It's not like I'm really a siren anymore. Besides... what use does a siren's song have in legitimate society anyway? Bianca smirked as she said, "You obviously haven't heard. While some sirens like myself, simply choose to repress our song; others have found ways to properly use it. In Chicago, there's a siren who works with the police department and uses her song in high stakes violent encounters, along with hostage situations. A siren's song may not permanently mind control a person's mind... but it does come in handy in a pinch like that. Meanwhile, there's a siren who works at a prison in California, who works with the most violent in-mates. She uses her song to calm the inmates down and help them act more peaceful. Her song doesn't permanently change their minds... but by using her song to help violent offenders see another way of living for a brief time... it does a great deal at helping them want to seek proper mental health treatment. Now Sophia, you can be whatever you want to be. If you never want to use your siren song again, that's your choice. But... if you ever find a way to reclaim it one day... there is still a place for you." Sophia tilted her head down slightly, but then made a little smile as she said, "Thanks."
Sophia then walked away, while Wednesday and Enid walked over to Bianca. Enid smiled as she said, "Thank you for what you did for our family today Bianca." Wednesday meanwhile kept a very straight face as she said, "Indeed. You were quite impressive. Although I'm surprised it took you two days to convince the judge, instead of one." Bianca smirked as she said, "Hey. I was trying to win back some rights for all outcasts at the same time I was trying to save your family." Wednesday stood with a deadpan face as she said, "I saved reality from coming undone in a day, stopped a zombie apocalypse in under 24 hours, sent a demon back to hell in just mere minutes when I decided to finally do it, and stopped an army of ghosts in one afternoon. Had the roles been reversed, I would've had the prosecution apologizing and crying to me in under a half hour." Bianca smiled as she said, "Don't ever change Addams. Although I hope you both realize, things only worked out for us on a technicality. Exposing the flaws in the medical system for outcasts was the only way to swing the case in our favor. Outcasts are still going be receiving some rough attention in the days to come. And as your attorney... I'd highly advise not having any more children using the same methods that you performed to create Harmony and Ana."
Then suddenly the three adult women were interrupted by the sound of Emmy yelling, "Oh, come on! How can a cat beat me in thumb wrestling!? Cats don't even have thumbs!" Then a happy Ana yelled, "Yeah! Stormageddon the Conquer strikes again!" Then Ana's kitten yelled, "Rowr!" Bianca chuckled and said, "I'm glad Emmy and Sophia have found comfort in your family... especially since they're orphans." A surprised Enid then said, "What?" Bianca then looked at Enid as she said, "You didn't know? When I was trying to get parental permission for them to speak in court, I learned they were wards of the state. Since they were outcasts though, Nevermore Academy was essentially allowed to be their foster home until they turned 18. Anyway, I need to go see for myself now if this cat everyone is talking about really can do all the things it does." As Bianca walked away, Enid then turned to see Sophia and Emmy smiling and talking to one another. Enid then looked at Wednesday, and with big pleading eyes she said, "Wednesday... I want more kids..." Then Wednesday with a straight face said, "No." Then Wednesday turned and walked away. However Enid quickly used her arms to squeeze Wednesday's right arm as she said, "Please! Pretty pleeeeease!" Wednesday closed her eyes, groaned, and then said, "I'll think about it." Enid then let go of Wednesday and jumped up in the air as she said, "Yay!" Then Enid hugged Wednesday from the side and kissed her on the cheek as she said, "Love you Wens-babe!" Then Wednesday kept a straight face as she said, "And I... value your continued existence."
THE END... or maybe not...
Epilogue:
Wednesday Addams opened her eyes, and saw she was sitting in her parents' limo. Wednesday then realized her parents: Morticia and Gomez was sitting across from her. Wednesday looked confused as she said, "What's going on?" Morticia kept a calm face as she said, "Your eyes widened and you passed out. I believe you were having a vision Wednesday. Quite a long intense one it seems. Thankfully, you experienced it safely in the limo with us looking after you." As Wednesday looked around she said, "But... I was talking with Enid, and..." Gomez then interrupted Wednesday as he said, "Wait. Who is Enid?" A poised Morticia then said, "Oh my, your visions must be confusing you. I know it's difficult having them while you're fifteen years old Wednesday. Seeing the past and future is very confusing... but it'll get easier with time. Especially once we enroll you at Nevermore Academy." Wednesday meanwhile continued to have a confused face as she said, "Hmm... perhaps..."
