Chapter 3

Day of Monsterphillia

"Where is Ryan?" Loki asks while sitting at the table in the meal hall waiting for the last member of the party that was to escort her.

"Unknown, I know for certain that he did not go out on a patrol." Riveria says while looking at Ais who is looking bored waiting for Ryan. "He hasn't come out of his room since he got back from that night patrol when you were at the party Loki."

"Alfia, what happened that night?" Loki asks, looking to Alfia as she looks away.

"Something got said and he was upset, and he yelled at me before leading myself and Miss Cat back." Alfia says while looking down.

"What was said?" Riveria asks. "I have not known him to get upset about things that were said."

"Silence, He is pissed at you and wants answers, but he understands that he is distracted so asks that it be a quiet escort. Loki he is also on a hair trigger." Aki says while walking up to the group slightly limping.

"Aki, why are you limping? He didn't attack you, did he?" Ais asks.

"No Ais, He didn't attack me. Let's just say he and myself had a productive night." Aki says blushing and smiling a goofy smile.

"Aki, are you?" Loki trails off asking an implied question of if she was pregnant.

"Maybe we did do it a lot, but he made me the tea and stuff. I mean we had a productive few days as we talked about everything. He is still pissed but he is just going to put it off for now until after today when he can have some one-on-one time with Silence to talk to her about what was all said." Aki says smiling until she get to the end.

"You can call her Alfia you know. She is in the familia." Loki says looking between the level four and the level eight adventurers. She then spies the ring on Aki's hand. "Did he drop the question? Are you engaged?" Loki then freaks out.

"No not yet. This is just a promise ring. He said that he does want to marry he just wants to have his life settle down a bit more." Aki says back to smiling. "He is waiting for us at the front."

"Let's go then." Loki says. "I want to get this over with."

After meeting up with Ryan they start on their way with Ryan and Aki up front talking while Ais, Bella and Alfia are walking with Loki with her asking Bella how she grew up and what her motivations were for becoming an adventurer. As Bella is explaining Alfia is listening to what is being said between Loki and Bella while also trying to listen to what Aki and Ryan are saying without it being too obvious. She knows eavesdropping is not polite, but she has heard her name a few times and was curious.

"Ryan she is your mother." Aki says while looking at Ryan as he is scanning around the streets and buildings.

"She could have said something. You know my family life was shit back in that world. I only had my sister to rely on and she died." Ryan says heatedly.

"I am not trying to upset you Ryan, but it would make sense that she wanted to see who you were and wanted to protect you and that was why she went on that patrol. She might have even wanted to tell you during the patrol, but she doesn't know me and then everything with Evilus happened." Aki says back.

"I just don't know what think about her or Zald." Ryan says looking down for a moment before looking back up as they approach the café for the meeting.

"Alright Ryan, Ais and Alfia with me Aki and Bella please wait down here." Loki says walking up to the second floor. As the three in question follow up, they come face to face with Freya and Ottar. As Alfia comes into view Ottar stiffens and his hand inches towards his blade but stops when he sees Ryan already has his hand on his blade and his other hand is already on a knife and is looking at him, but the corner of his eye is looking to Freya like he is ready to throw said knife at her at the slightest move but while he also looks calm and relaxed.

"Ottar stand down. Loki, are you siding with Evilus?" Freya asks while looking at Loki.

"No Alfia is not a part of Evilus." Loki says.

"Why bring her?" Freya asks while looking at Alfia and then looking at Ryan. "Ah so the one to kill the dragon is her son."

"That is not all. I came to simply tell you if you start a war with me you will lose." Loki says with open eyes staring into Freya's eyes. "You are no longer the top power of Orario. I let you keep the penthouse, but my familia outstrips yours now."

"How do you figure. Alfia is only a level seven. That means you match my familia, but I have more level sixes." Freya says smugly.

"That would be true if Alfia was only a level seven." Loki says with a small smile. "Alfia what level are you?"

"Loki, you know the answer." Alfia says shortly.

"Just humor me." Loki says smiling.

"Fine, I am level eight." Alfia says shocking Ottar and Freya.

"Level eight." Ottar mumbles out.

"If she wanted to, she could be Level nine." Loki says. "That is only the beginning. I will leave you with that."

"I want Bella and Ryan." Freya says.

Before Loki gets to say anything. "Try it and I will end your entire Familia." Alfia says while releasing a massive amount of magical power.

"Why do you care Silence?" Ottar says stepping up a hand on one of his blades.

"I do not want my son or Meteria's daughter anywhere near your goddess. They are not things to collect they are people." Alfia says. "If you attempt to charm either of them or me, I will destroy you."

The words alone would not freeze Freya but the sudden edge of a weapon to Ottar's neck and her own neck makes her freeze and Ottar looks shocked. Behind Freya is Ryan with a knife to her neck and his sword drawn and resting on Ottar's neck. "I would not try to threaten this familia." Ryan says quietly while looking to Freya's eye.

"I will call this meeting to a close before a war is called for." Loki says while getting up. "Freya be smart do not antagonize my familia. Do not target my familia. Do not do anything stupid. Evilus is still out there. We cannot be at each other's throats. We need to end Evilus as a threat. We are the strongest familia's left. We need to step up truly into the shoes of those who are no longer here." After saying her peace Loki leaves with Alfia, Ais and Ryan following behind. Ais being shocked at how fast Ryan was able to move and the way he had the former strongest backed into a corner with the threat of death.

"Ryan, you need to learn to calm down." Loki says quietly as they rejoin Aki and Bella heading to the Hostess of Fertility for Alfia to meet with a friend who still does not know of her return.

"Any threat to this familia will be met with force." Ryan says while walking next to Aki grabbing her hand.

'They are so adorable. It seems like she is his rock. Maybe I should get to know her.' Alfia thinks to herself as they enter the Hostess, and she sees Mia look at her shocked. "Hello Mia."

"Silence it is good to see you." Mia says back. As they sit down and talk while ordering food Alfia and Bella learn what Ryan has gone through on operations in the military he was a part of. The amount of hell Alfia is going through hearing of some of the missions he has gone through actually hurts her. As they are discussing things Ryan and Alfia make up some when she explains she thought he was dead, and she missed him. "So, you were trained to jump from those flying machines in order to attack these airfield things so that the other forces could land there?" Bella asks while looking at Ryan like he was insane.

"It wasn't always ops like that in fact I only ever was apart of one of those Operations. Normally we just ran QRF for the Tier One units in the AO. Well, we also did a lot of Direct-Action Raids on enemy leadership." Ryan says while smiling.

"QRF? AO? What do those mean?" Alfia asks looking at him.

"Sorry, QRF is Quick Reaction Force meaning we are the unit that is sent in when something goes wrong to assist the pinned down unit so that they can complete their mission and AO is Area of Operation. We just shorten almost everything in order to make it easy to talk over radios." Ryan says chuckling while Bella, Alfia and the rest of the bar, Staff included stare at him in shock hearing what he did for a living, and he is chuckling or laughing about it. Loki who is watching with Anakitty smiling seeing that Ryan and Alfia are getting along even if it is early days for them.

"Ryan seems to be at least partially up to listening to her and stuff." Anakitty says to Loki.

"He is but he is still in pain from his childhood it will be a long time. So please tell me what happened on that patrol." Loki asks while looking around to make sure no one was listening.

"You're going to have to talk to Silence and Ryan." Anakitty says while frowning. Loki just looks at her confused and when Aki sees the look she explains. "It is very personal and probably means so much more."

Loki eyes her before turning her eyes to Ryan, Alfia and Bella and decides to wait till they get home.

A/N I know it has been a while since I last updated. I am working on this story as well as another story and a few rewrites of even more stories. I am trying to focus on this story but It may receive a rewrite to make it a bit more clear and a longer time in between Ryan coming to Orario and Alfia and Bell.
